Great to kick back

By Shnikah |

Very nice establishment to go and have a great time with some friends or even meet a some new friends. The menu is in point and the atmosphere is laid back. I would only suggest a dance floor over in the lounge area by the bar.

Quick food and fun

By Geoffrey A |

Great place to meet people as it is a bar and restaurant. Right in the heart of the best area to do night life in Harlem with so many other restaurants and places to go eat and dance or hear live music within a block or two.

Excellent Food, Great service

By Superfrank139 |

We went for Brunch and were quite happy with the quality of food AND service. Good energy from point of entry all the way through the meal. Not only was the food delicious, but my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes. We were very hungry and left quite full. DELICIOUS!

Be Sure You Get What You Ordered

By Hollow485 |

Went to Corner Social today and ordered a Cobb Salad from the brunch menu. I thought it was unusual that a cobb salad would have fava beans, as shown on the menu, but decided to order anyway. The salad came without the fava beans, and also without the boiled egg shown on the menu. I didn't realize that these items were missing until after we got home and I thought about the meal. Big pet peeve for me--restaurants that just give you whatever they want, regardless of how the dish is described on the menu. I should have been informed if some items of the dish weren't available. Will not be going back.

Great Drinks, Eat Across the Street

By Lindsay M |

Had brunch here with two girlfriends on Sunday. The patio is great, as long as the weather is. We actually planned on going to Red Rooster, but it was so packed we thought we would wait out our reservation and have drinks here. To summarize (in case you don’t want to read everything): Get drinks here (costly but good) and eat across the street. Drinks we ordered: - 321 Pineapple: Pretty good, not as sweet as you’d think. We all liked this one - Corner Smash: I LOVED this one. The mint added the perfect match in flavor to the Jack Honey. 2/3 of us liked this one. - Social Margarita: Also loved this margarita on the rocks. We all liked this one. The actual food was a bit of a mixed review. Pretty hard to mess up a Belgian Waffle… but I am vegetarian so I asked for something else besides sausage on the side. The waitress suggested an additional cup of fruit. I thought this sounded perfect; mixed berries and whip on the waffle, side of fruit. Nope! Got a plain waffle with a cup of pineapple and mixed melons? Where are the berries in the entrée’s description? I asked the waitress and she said “this is how it comes” I asked for clarification, they serve melon on a Belgian waffle? Personally, I think she messed up the order and instead of apologizing and grabbing me some berries for my waffle- got a tad defensive. At least the bus boy kindly brought me some whip cream without hassle. **Note for vegetarians: Don’t risk it, just give your friend your sausage. Especially if you’re like me and hate melon. HAHA The other entrees: Shrimp and Grits- Looked and tasted pretty good. Chicken and Waffles- Friend said the chicken was just ‘okay’ , and its pretty hard to mess up a plain waffle.

A nice surprise in Harlem

By Jose G |

Very nice atmosphere in a nicely decorated place. Staff are extremely friendly. The place was full and we were told to wait for 30 minutes; in the end it was not even 15. The food was simply delicious

Basic food, good atmosphere, too loud for conversations

By Celcius37 |

We went there with our family. The food was basic and OK, but not great at all. The service was friendly but maybe less efficient. The atmosphere was quite nice, but maybe less suited for a family dinner in the evening. The music was too loud to have a decent conversation. So good place to meet up with some friends or a date in a nice ambiance.

Loud inside but lovely outside

By NYCtraveller08 |

Eat outside if the weather's nice, because inside you can't hear yourself think. Try the crabcakes! Nice staff and good food. A local hangout to come back to over and over.

Service 'Needs Improvement'...Food "Good"

By mflower275 |

We waited for what seem like forever for Ms. Waitress...the runner Elliot was more attentive to our needs. We finally received our food - I ordered Jerk Spiced Chicken Baguette with Kale Salad and my girlfriend ordered the Sauteed Montauk Flounder. My salad was awesome and the sandwich...ah...so-so...My girlfriends food was bland and tasteless. We finished and, again, had to look for the waitress to pay the bill! Ugh! If you're looking for a decent meal but mediocre service, you'll enjoy this spot.

Fun Time

By A R |

The food of the guy sitting next to me looked real good. He said it was good, so I'll have to take his word for it. We stopped in to listen to the music and grab a few drinks. The DJ was on point. I was ready to get up out my seat. The drinks were good. I did order dessert. Let's just say, chocolate cake without icing is not a brownie so don't call it one. But all in all I liked this spot and would definitely recommend it as a spot to hang out, mingle and maybe even catch a bite to eat. There were plenty of people up in this joint mixing mingling and having a good time. 2 thumbs up for the social scene at the Corner Social.

Harlem Hot Spots

By Maxine S |

I enjoyed the Happy Hour ($4) beers and excellent bar foods. The veggie lasagna is very good. Busy hot spot in Harlem, part of the bar loop, with Red Rooster across the street, The Cove next door and Sylvia's Soul restaurant on the opposite corner.

ONE BAD APPLE !

By KOHINOOR185 |

During the past year on my visits to New York, my partner and I have enjoyed many wonderful evenings at the Corner Social for drinks and dinner. The crowd is very mixed, and the atmosphere very vibrant but at times somewhat loud. The food especially the crab cakes are delectable, and the restaurant service good. There was however, one incident that has caused me never to return there. Earlier this year, I invited a first time European visitor to New York there for drinks and to sample the atmosphere in a Harlem bar. When we paid the bill at the bar, our credit card was not returned. We motioned to our waiter who in a very annoyed and arrogant manner insisted that he had returned the card to us. After a thorough search in the surrounding area, the card was found at the restaurant's entrance, by another guest. This whole fiasco ended with the intervention of the bar manager however, without an apology for the inconvenience caused. As the saying goes, one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch.

After work dinner

By Glowee |

Parking was accessible right on the street and no table wait. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. The service was quick and the food was good. They did offer a happy hour menu but we didn’t order anything off the menu. I would return again.

Great food and atmosphere.

By Gnomemother |

A great place to eat, really good food. The locations is good and although always busy they found us a table within a few minutes. The music was a bit loud but that didn't spoil from the evening, when we sat outside on the second visit the volume was perfect!

Great Late Night Spot

By Marty D |

We came to Corner Social because everything else was closing. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine and some late night snacks. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe and service was very good. Would come back here for sure.

Good For Happy Hour

By SunSeeker114 |

I enjoy this local spot for happy hour. Has good finger food to go along with your drinks. Usually has a nice afterwork crowd too. The music can be a bit loud, so keep your convo limited. Outside of happy hour I find this spot a bit pricey! I guess it's adding downtown everyday prices uptown. Uggggh. Drinks and food are pricey...

Been here a few times and just love the atmosphere. The lunch menu could be a little more extensive although they cater to meat eaters and vegetarians. Wait staff are friendly. Music on Saturday afternoons/evenings is played by a DJ. Would be nice if he played a little more upbeat music. Almost fell asleep to the tunes he played last time. Play some reggae or funky soul sometimes Mr DJ. The Saturday evening crowd is mixed in age. Can simply go in there for a drink, snacks or a full-on meal. Solo diners, couples, families... Recommended!

Great for drinks and music!

By HungryPanda27 |

This place is right up my street! Amazing music, friendly bar staff and customers, and knock out drinks (literally...cocktails were pretty strong!) try the jack julep if it's still on. The dj was incredible and it was an amazing overall atmosphere to spend a few hours at night.

Fast service and delicious food

By monsieurleyeuch |

For the summer with our friends, I went to this restaurant after we visited Times Square. The decoration is nice and organized. The waiter welcomed us warmly. The service was fast and the food was delicious. We decided to give the waiter a tip because the quality of the service was amazing and the waiter was very kind. You should go to this restaurant because the service is amazing and the food is delicious!

This place came highly recommended from people that lived in Harlem, so we checked it out. Nice vibes and atmosphere. Our group enjoyed the food as well.

GREAT EATS AND GREAT HAPPY HOUR!

By Janelle Castillo |

I celebrated my cousin's 35th birthday here and I must say I will DEFINITELY return. Not only was Jose, the manager, and his staff super friendly and attentive but the food was EXCEPTIONAL. The atmosphere gives you a warm hospitality vibe while listening to late 90's, early 2000's R&B music. Also prices are very affordable especially during happy hour which is my thing :-). Overall great experience and great food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Best bar/lounge nyc

OK. So this place has amazing ambiance, middle of Harlem, 126 & lenox. It delivers every night. Can't beat it

Great Sports Bar

By MOUSETeacher |

Quality, organic ingredients, well-made - our burgers were the bomb. Be prepared to wait for your food if there's a crowd. Pleasant wait staff, great people watching for Harlem. Good view of sports screens from literally every seat in the house. Get a seat by the french doors and you can people-watch during commercials and enjoy what breezes exist in July in Harlem.

Cool vibes

By Tanya C |

My friends & I decided to try this spot out on July 4th. We opted to sit outside & it was nice, we heard the music playing from the inside. The waitress was ok, it would take her long to come over to our table at times. After dinner, we realized this place turns into a club atmosphere inside & it was really fun, I would definitely return, the crowd was really cool & mature. The drinks were on point, not watered down. My friends & I had an awesome time. We will most likely return.

Great food, but ugh, never again!

By SRNYCMetro |

arrived within the 15-minute grace period for my 4:00 reservation only to be told that the kitchen closed a few minutes before 4:00. Mmmkay, then why accept reservations for that time? The hostess said she meant to call to let us know, but she would hold a table for us for 5:00 when the kitchen re-opened. We returned at 5:00, the earlier hostess was preparing to leave, didn't acknowledge us or, apprently, leave a note for the new hostess. After explaining what happened, we were seated. There were several delays - the waitress coming to take our order, the drinks coming to the table, and my meal. But she was quick to bring the menu for additional items to be ordered and to bring the bill. Some people in my group ordered appetizers only, others ordered an appetizer and an entree, I ordered an entree only. After waiting more than 30 minutes and asking about my meal, the waitress explained she "coursed" the order, so my meal would be out when the other entrees we brought to the table. What?! Why no ask me if I'm OK with that? Normally, I would be, but since the restaurant pushed out our resevation by an hour, I was very hungry and frustrated. When we asked the waitress if she could split the bill, she said she couldn't remember who had what and would just bring us a pen to do it ourselves. Seriously? All this and the noise level was loud enough to be a day party. I'm not going back.

Good food and place

By Gabriela_Oliv |

Good food, decent price, it just took a bit too long, probably because they were fool, Brazilian football match on world cup going on.

A great place to eat and hangout

By Laura B |

We came mid evening on a Friday and the place was popping. They have a large selection of local and craft beers on tap and in bottles. The food was terrific. We had a shrimp rissotto, brussel sprouts with pancetta, chicken wings and everything was just right and the portions were good. Service was excellent, responsive and pleasant, despite the fact that a lot was going on. Would return anytime we are in that neighborhood.

Pleasant experience

By HP2901 |

Was here a couple of days ago for lunch by myself and enjoyed my time there. It was a laid back, chill atmosphere and not very crowded. It happened to be restaurant week, so there was a prixe fixe menu, on which the choices were pretty decent. I had a soup of the day and a portabella burger, and a pound cake with berry coulis for dessert. Cocktails were nicely made. Overall, it's homely type of food, good service, nice ambiance and decently priced for NYC. I'd return if I were in the area. If I had to find an area on which they could improve, it would be to include more vegetarian options on the menu. There were only 1 or 2 that I could see right off the bat.

Nice place and drinks

By getupradio |

Nice spot to meet with friends, business after hours. Live DJ for entertainment and outside dining available. Entrees ranged from 12.99 to 24.99. Cocktails were between 8.99 to 10.99 each. Enjoyed the service.

Best Burger and Craft Ale in the sun

By cappleton2 |

After taking part in Big Onion walking tour we saw this place and knew it looked good. It was great, love homemade burgers and even swapped the chips for a salad, trying to be healthy. It was great to sit outside in the sun

Nice corner brunch

By chris c |

This is a great place for brunch. If ordering from the brunch menu you get a complimentary beverage. I chose a mimosa. It was light and yummy. I chose the classic breakfast. It was good but I was not a fan of the sausage. The staff were friendly and fast. Most in our group had the classic breakfast and one had the steak and eggs which I'm told was really good also.

Good atmosphere, excellent service, great food.

By Yvonne M |

This January 2015 I went there to enjoy brunch with my family. We were a party of 7 and we made a reservation beforehand. It was Saturday, so not too busy for brunch (I hear Sunday is busier!) We were running late and they were happy to hold our table for us. Jamal was our server and bartender. We ordered many things. The drinks were amazing; especially the bottomless mimosas, which were truly bottomless. Jamal filled our glasses before we could finish them! My family ordered other drinks that were made very well. Good drinks! For food-- at first glance their brunch menu is very limited, but we were all able to order something we thought we could eat. I had the Jumbo Shrimp and Cheesy Grits, which came in a bowl with a wonderful brown seafood sauce and three huge shrimp-- well cooked and seasoned. The grits was under the sauce. I would have licked the bowl if I could. My family all ordered other stuff; like the chicken and waffles and the spinach omelet. All were very good. My son-in-law said the chicken and waffles was just "good". And my daughter ordered the Creme Brulee and it was burnt/over done. But still, not too bad. The restaurant wasn't crowded so it was very comfortable for us to sit, laugh and talk. All the other patrons seemed to be having a good time too. We didn't feel rushed us or anything and our server Jamal was very attentive to our needs. Overall, a good experience. I would suggest you try it and I definitely would go back there again.

Saw Toronto win the NBA championship here! Food was excellent!

By Diana E |

It is a small intimate location that has great atmosphere and excellent food. We had a couple of glasses of wine, the stuffed portobello with quinoa, the spicy chicken wings, and steak. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess, served by an enthusiastic and gracious waiter even while the place got more and more crowded. The game and the food were memorable! LOL

Relaxed and friendly,Great for people watching

By madwolf3070 |

Stopped here for a meal before a gig at Apollo theatre. Hostess super friendly and I was seated on the patio with great people watching as the folks of Harlem went about their evening. Solid American food offerings and quite a nice raspberry margarita. Waitress a bit slow to start with, but she eventually found her groove and ended up quite chatty. Was a very hot night and the busboys/food runners kept water glasses full and the tables cleared. All up a good quick meal in a pleasant spot.

Lovely experience. Great food. Wait staff was excellent. They also accommodated a vegan request superbly. Can't wait to come back.

Saturday brunch never disappoints, whether alone or with friends. Great service, amazing food, fab cocktails. Another reason to love living in Harlem

Totally Awesome Night

By Steven D |

Great Atmosphere, Great Music, Great Surroundings, Great Customers and Great Staff. what more could anyone want on a night out celebrating your 50th Birthday in a new city. Me and the Wife where made to feel as if this was our home bar by everyone. the guy on the door made sure that we were ok throughout the evening, which was a nice touch. Although I didn't have and food but it did look good, I would not hesitate to recommend this bar to anyone who is visiting either New York or Harlem in particular and I will most certainly be going back.

Good Brunch spot

By SharmsA |

Nice brunch with good old soul food..... Good prices and was very happy with the Mimosa refill...... The menu doesn't have that much of a selection.....

Good experience to feel you are in Harlem

A very good experience if you want to enjoy local food in an amazing Mood. DJ DJ DJing music and Mood of people having dinner and drinks. Definitely a highly recommended option if you want to enjoy the genuine Harlem Mood

Enjoyed My Lunch

By DarrenHicks |

This is a busy place. I would NEVER TRY to come here at night time. I would not trust the crowd or the service. We had lunch here and it wasn't crowded. I enjoyed every second. Service. Food. Atmosphere. Was awesome for a lunch time meal. I would not try to eat here at night when the crowd is too young and the service over worked. Otherwise a great place.

Decent Food IF it's made correctly!!

By JayEmBey |

I have visited this restaurant on 2 different occasions. Each time ordering chicken nachos. I'm very particular about my food and ordered only chicken, lettuce, and cheese. However, during my first visit in which I ate in, my order came to the table with beans. The server quickly corrected the mistake. The rest of my party was happy with their meals. These nachos, once corrected, were great. What made them so yummy is the ricotta cheese sauce that they use in addition to shredded cheese. I came back a few weeks later, this past Sunday, because despite the mixup with my order my food was good. On my next visit I placed a to-go order. This time ordering two orders of nachos, one as is, with all the fixings, and the other with chicken, lettuce, and cheese only. When my food arrived I made sure to check it and OF COURSE it was wrong, but it wasn't the bartenders fault. It was the kitchen. They, for some reason, couldn't follow simple directions. Both orders came out with chicken, lettuce, and shredded cheese only. No cheese sauce on either and none of the "fixings" on one. I politely asked them to fix them both. They then took the nachos and simply threw the "fixings" on top of one order but completely forget to add the cheese sauce to either order AGAIN. I asked for the manager, this was his first day. He apologized and took my order again. This time out comes an order of nachos with chicken, lettuce, cheese sauce, and tomatoes. I have no idea when he heard me say I wanted no shredded cheese and I added tomatoes but by this time 40 minutes had passed and my order was still incorrect. The owner happened to be there. He asked about my experience and I explained everything from the beginning. I was frustrated, tired, hungry, and ready to go but I wasn't leaving until my order was correct. By this time, the shifts were changing, the other manager came out, I explained what I wanted, the food came out 5 minutes later and she quickly showed me my order. It appeared to be correct. I drive all the way from Harlem to Far Rockaway and found out that even after waiting an hour for some freaking nachos my order still wasn't right. There was NO CHEESE SAUCE!! Which is the BEST part of the nachos. They added frozen white shredded cheese in addition to melted shredded Colby Jack cheese or whatever yellow cheese they use. I will not be giving this spot a third chance to mess up my food or waste my time. What a horrible experience though at a place that serves really good food.

Nice place

By christina e |

The food was good, but i think that it was too expensive for just a sandwich with chips!! The service was very friendly and we have nice view from the local market

Lovely atmosphere

By Linda V |

We had a really nice time with my family having a few beers and dinner at this place. We went in because the sign Happy Hour was at the entrance. We were surprised when the bill was for the full price. I had to complain and request to speak to a manager for the bill to be corrected as the staff initially refused to correct it. We had to wait 20 minutes for the new bill to come through. I wasn't too impressed about that. Other than that, the place is lovely.

Neighborhood Gem

By Mymilesandsmiles |

On bustling Lenox Avenue, one of my favorite Harlem's restaurant and bar. Contemporary American cuisine, very lively, and great service. Went there on a Sunday late afternoon for an early dinner and wasn't disappointed. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and food was on point Food: -Empanadas -Stuffed Portobello Mushroom & Quinoa - Truffle fries Everything was delicious. I now need to go back for brunch

HARLEM VIBES

By Des1963 |

My friends and I have absolutely no complaints about this gem in Harlem. We loved the DJ, the music, the food, the drinks, the people. In fact, we were the last to leave at about 03h30 in the morning. What a night! Definitely to be repeated the next time I am in NYC.

Great date spot

By cindycardona |

My date took me to this spot and I must say I loved the vibe. They have good music but is just loud enough to hear it and low enough to be able to talk to the people you are with. It was our first date and the music did not distract us from talking but it had a great vibe. The waiter was very attentive and we didn't wait long for our food. I though the food was good and so did my date. The place is nice and cozy and not far from the train station. I really enjoyed myself.

Great music

By rsteno |

I went to meet up with some family while I was in NY. This place had great service & good drinks. The prices were not bad at all. I did not have any food.

Great atmosphere

By Andrea P |

Warm and welcoming from the moment you step in, you get a glass of water the minute you sit down, your server introduces themselves and are very attentive during your visit, the food is delicious but the portions are on the large side, but they give you containers so you can take them home, delicious cocktails, music was a bit loud for me (but I'm old), but all in all great food and reasonably priced, will definitely visit again

Social corner that offers a lot more

By jenalebur |

The last time that I visited Corner Social, I ordered sweet potato fries (I had not had fries for a long time) and caesar salad. I do not eat any form of meat, chicken or duck. My friend ordered tortilla chips (with the usual, guacamole, cheese, jalapeños and additional things) and fried plantain. The service was quick and waiter attentive. Both meals were extremely tasty and filling. I could not finish my sweet potato fries (I gave the rest to my friend), and my friend did not touch her fried plantain. She asked for a container to take both fries and plantain home. Harlem seems to be place to be, at present, with its variety of restaurants and bars, and I am enjoying it while I am in The U.S.

nice menu

By nycmom22 |

There is outdoor seating to observe a lively street scene. Part of the ever burgeoning Harlem food scene. I liked the service and server very much. Nice touches Water carafe on the table. Salads better than average. Diagonally across the street from red Rooster and Chez Lucienne - both of which I've enjoyed for lunch.

Great Harlem eatery.

By Lynn S |

Located in Harlem, Corner Social offers easy access from the subway and is a great destination for out-of-town visitors or New York locals. I've been at this popular uptown restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is casual, low-key, very pleasant and welcoming. The menu offers a interesting variation on traditional fare and the service was excellent. I had the best crab cake that I've ever eaten and the bartender made a perfect cosmo! It can become a bit crowded, so it's wise to make a reservation. There are tables outside which would be a great choice in warmer weather. Music and people can contribute to a bit of noise, but I won't let that stop me from returning. Prices are moderate.

Nice Spot

By H470CSstevenb |

My wife and I stopped at Corner Social for a late night drink with some friends. That drink turned into appetizers and a few entrees. The food was good and the service was on point. Would definitely recommend Corner Social.

Restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Staff are friendly and welcoming albeit somehow slow. They food is good and moderately priced.

Great Night in Harlem

By Alan E |

Visiting this New York this week, was told about the positive developments in Harlem over the last 10-20 years and was recommended Red Rooster and Sylvia restaurants. Went Uptown to Harlem and in strolling around could see and feel that the Corner Social had something that little bit different that appealed to my group. We had a great evening at the Corner Social....Great people serving and entertaining us, I say entertaining as the staff were great engagers and humorous whilst looking after us exceedingly well. Food was excellent. Would recommend that anyone visiting New York who has picture in their minds about Harlem from the movies in the 80s and 90s should visit the area, W. Harlem and enjoy an evening at the Corner Social as we did. Staff were a credit to the USA and created a very positive impression for this tourist.

Way overrated

By Arthur K |

We came here for a late night drink as it was just down the block from where we were staying. People raved about the cheese burger spring rolls so we got an order. It was $12 for 2 skinny spring rolls cut in half. $12!!! The drinks weren't cheap either. Our tab came out to $90 for 4 drinks & the less than mediocre cheese burger spring rolls.

Modern Harlem spirit

By Andreas T |

Went as a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids (10, 11, 14). Had 4 beers, 6 soft drinks and 1dish each $190 incl. Tips. Had a table outside - cosy and relaxed atmosphere just next to the crowdy street. The steak was cut the wrong way but the pasta with tomato sauce, vodka and shrimps was great. Nice service and friendly staff.

A Fun Gathering Place

By cityhopper22 |

Stopped by for a cold beer and a glimpse of the world cup. The outside patio looked like the perfect place to watch the world go by and the bar had a relaxed friendly vibe. My neighbor was thoroughly enjoying his burger, but I had just eaten across the street. Hope to go back.

Horrible food and service

By Anna W |

The chicken and waffle was horrible. The waiters do not acknowledge you at all. No one came over to greet the customer. The chicken is under seasoned and under cooked. Do not go to this place.

Spread love. It’s the Harlem way.

By hrobinson1114 |

Some reviews complain that this place doesn’t have a neighborhood vibe anymore, that it’s too crowded, that the music is too loud. Well, inside the music is WAY too loud. Outside, it’s ok. But I had no issue getting in, had no wait time, and it wasn’t too crowded. Service was attentive and laid back (Jose was my server), and everyone there seemed to conducting business the Harlem way (neighborhood vibes for days). I had the salmon, which is served on mashed potatoes, with broccoli and cooked tomatoes. Jose provided fresh ground pepper table-side. I had some smoky Brussels sprouts too. Not the most creative or best I’ve ever had—simple, but good. I had a few cocktails—the earthy Harlem Sage (vodka, ginger, pineapple, lime, sage) and the refreshing Paloma-esque golden goose (vodka, passionfruit, lime, ginger beer). Additionally, I had the fruity Harlem Love Punch (rum, peach schnapps, pineapple, mango, strawberry, and lemon) and the simple Uptown Baby (vodka, midori, strawberry, lime). All the drinks are 15 bucks and are tasty and easy going down. Though I had the more elevated dish of salmon and the accompanying veggies, they also have steak, shrimp and grits, lobster ravioli, coconut chicken, pasta, salads, and some pub grub—nachos, mussels, spinach dip, lamb lollipops, mozzarella sticks, etc. By the way, even if the music is too loud inside—the playlist is awesome! Lot of 90s and 2000s hiphop and R&B. Spread love. It’s the Harlem way.

Very good food

Nice terrace, although a bit crowded with too many tables on little space. The food was very good and the service very attentive. Great place to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Lively bar and restaurant

We were a group of 5 and got a great table just inside. The waitress was friendly, the food good and there was live music (Wednesdays).

Fantastic Jewel in Harlem

By yayalola |

This place is awesome. The people that work there, was very helpful and happy to be there. It's usually weird see waitress or waiters enjoying what they do. They were singing and dancing. The DJ was awesome too! I want to stand up and start dancing!! We were going to stay for few drinks and go home, we ended up staying for dinner. We sat down pretty fast (the place was packed!) We had the half chicken with spinach and grits ( I usually don't like them but this time I loved them!!!!) they had some cheese that made them delicious. We also had a size of sweet potato fries ..LOVE THEM!!! ohhh and we had an avocado/cheese appetizer that it was worth to die!!!!! We are definitely coming back.....very soon!!!!!

Meet N Greet

I think i visit this place everytime i come to NYC. I spent my bday in NYC then headed off to Africa. But corner social was a nice spot to host bday drinks and our trips meet N greet. Food, drinks and music was awesome Those lamb chops surprisingly tasty

A Harlem Gem.

By Alex L |

My wife and I travelled to NYC for our birthdays. Her sister lives in Harlem. We walked past this spot and decided to go in to have an early birthday dinner for me. We were very happy we did. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was very busy for a Thursday night. The food was top notch. The bar scene was laid back but very hip. The scene was very festive and the DJ was awesome. if you like hip hop you will love this place. I mean good hip hop, oldies and 90's not the garbage you hear on the radio now. We loved it so much we went back Sunday night. The best thing is that it is priced very reasonably. Less than half of what you would spend in Manhattan.

Bad food, too expensive

By dovmk |

Crab cake had no traces of crab meet, only cheap fish. Hamburger was overcooked (asked for Medium). Too expensive for what they offer.

Really, Really Friendly Service

By Dan W |

I went to Corner Social for the first time tonight and what a nice place! I enjoyed the openness of the establishment, the variety on the menu and the fair prices. What I was most impressed with was the friendly and courteous manner of the staff. They really made us feel so welcome. It's a perfect complement to the other fine restaurants opening up in Central Harlem.

Corner social is self explanatory. It’s a corner social- sits on the corner which makes it easily accessible. It neighbors several other bars and eateries which made it all the more convenient to bounce back and forth to enjoy the entire block of Harlem, dining in and out of the pleasantries. Superb service! Awesome dining set up! Large space for standing after hours or during happy hour, while seats come open. Great people - friendly staff and patrons. Kind of laid back depending on the time of day. During early hours weekdays it’s not packed but around 7 pm on Thursday there’s standing room only. My recommendations: Ceviche, Moscow Mule, Sweet Plantains , Wings and Calamari

Great hang out sppt

I went here with a friend on Saturday for brunch and had a really good time. The basketball game was on the tv screens, the music was blasting good music, the vibe was energetic, and good was delicious. It was crowded but not uncomfortable. I would love to visit again

The New Harlem - loved this place!

By MariaEngleUK |

Found this place by accident on way to Red Rooster. Love what Harlem is about these days and this place was so cool yet friendly with a nice chillaxed evening vibe. We only had drinks at the bar but will go again and hopefully try out the food.

Brunch

By FreeSpiritNYC |

This place showed all the World Cup matches, a big PLUS with me. The food is adequate, as well as the service, but the vibe is just right. Harlem is now a social melting pot and it is represented very well in the patrons that visit this establishment. Don't go to this spot when you're too hungry or you 'might be disappointed, instead go for the "vibes" or socializing.

Great Brunch

By jrsanders720 |

Mysef & two of my close friends went to brunch yesterday at Corner Social all I can say is we had a really nice experience the staff was great, the food was good & we will definitely be going back.

Cute atmosphere but loud

By CNellz |

If you are a bruncher, you will enjoy the food here. If you don't like a loud place this isn't the place for you.

Great Place on a Sunday Afternoon in Harlem

By Bill F |

After seeing waits of one hour and 45 minutes at Sylvia's and Red Rooster, we found this nice, friendly pub with good service and good food.

I have been to way better places!

By Yesenia217 |

I visited corner Social yesterday with a friend for some food and drinks. The environment was all that was great. The food, service and drinks were ok. I would probably return only if I were being treated and did not have to pay. The waitress totally forgot about us and we had to keep bothering other staff. Our food took forever to come out. On a scale from 1-10 i'd rate it a 6 and I am being nice.

Cool place, amazing food!

By Lindsay M |

My friend and I ate there Thursday and Friday nights this past week. We had a reservation for both nights, and were seated right away. Both nights it was very crowded; obviously a very popular place! Music was loud, but good! The food was DELICIOUS!! We had their ceviche both nights - the shrimp and fish along with the tortilla chips, were amazing.. Filet was delicious, but the red snapper was my favorite dish. Their white sangria is a must and they have happy hour from 4-8PM! The tres leches dessert was delicious. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was because the service was slow both nights. I was glad we weren't being rushed out, but neither waiter was very attentive, we always had to ask another waiter to get our waiter. Will definitely go back when I am in Harlem again!!

Absolutely Fabulous!

By Astrid M |

What a wonderful place to eat lovely food (red snapper and pangasius) and drink tasty beers (IPA Harlem Blue). We sat outside and watched all the people meeting their friends, guys showing off their bikes, it was a great atmosphere. The waitress was very kind, music was good (a DJ inside). We had an absolute wonderful evening in Harlem!

Good food in large amount

By Annika P |

Even you've tried Sylvia's and Red Rooster and are up for some less touristy place to eat your brunch or lunch in Harlem, try this place. Tasty food and friendly staff.

Great spot

By Stefano |

We stopped in strictly for drinks, so i cant comment on the food, which is why I only gave 4 stars. Door guy was NOT friendly at all. Very rude actually. However staff inside was great. So were the drinks. Will be back, just hoping the rude door guy isnt there next time.

Great cocktails in a very friendly, trendy place

By Victoria T |

Attended 5th Anniversary cocktail party, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Interesting, exciting cocktail menu, along with interesting good. Outside seating for the summer!

Coolio

By J P |

Stopped in for a meal and got the trifecta: service, great food & ambience. Top that off with good people and Boom, a winner! Take a table for your meal then retire to the bar. When you fall off your stool it's time to go home. Talk to the locals, awesome folk.

Good vibe, good food!

By TelmarkOS |

We went to Corner Social for dinner. The place was crowded with people having drinks and people having dinner. There was music playing. At first we thought is was a bit loud but it wa good music and it was adding to the atmosphere. We ordered the restaurant week menu which was a good meal for a good price. My son got a plate of nachos & chicken. When they brought his plate the guy next to him ordered the same because it looked so good. My daughter started to dance because she liked the music. The waiter joined her and they had fun. That’s the kind of place this is, you go there to have fun. I know we did! If you are looking for a formal dinner this is not the place to go to. If you are looking for a good time you should definitely go to corner social!

Birthday Celebration and Couples Night Out

By Vandaliah A |

This place was amazing...the food is great and so are the drinks. The ambience was also perfect, the DJ was on point, we danced and partied the night away. Normally you have to compromise food and drinks for fun or vice versa, but not here....the perfect ALL-IN-ONE!

Great food and atmosphere

Had great food here on our first night in Harlem, really friendly staff and good service. Highly recommend

New Year 's Day dinner !

By Dadie K |

Dinner at the corner Social was amazing . The place was warm and welcoming . Corner social is a type of place where you can eat , drink and listen to great music from the 90s and up . A very inviting and fun environment for adults to hang out and have a great meal. I had a ceviche and a wrapped up salmon and everything was delicious . Absolutely great place to eat, drink and socialize in Harlem NYC .

Harlem is alive & this spot breathes air into it

By Gara G |

A pleasure to behold. Fabulous from the host to the busboys and everything in between. The food is scrumptious, the cocktails made with perfection, & the crowd is trendy and awesome. Love the sidewalk cafe for people watching. Another Harlem gem.

Brunch

By lisa d |

We had brunch here as part of the Art inFlux program. The food and service were good. My husband and I had the crab cake with guac and eggs and it was yummy. Our kids had the classic breakfast and they enjoyed it. The portions are very generous. Convenient location!

Good atmosphere- nice hang out place in Harlem

By Maria S |

Corner Social hosted a big work event for my job and it was great- the staff helped the event go off without a hitch and the service was wonderful. I also come here for happy hours and dinner and am always impressed by the food and happy hour specials. A little pricey, but definitely a cool atmosphere and a great place to grab a drink on Lenox!

Chicken & Waffles Done Right!

Outstanding "Harlem Cuisine" with flavorful fluffy waffles and crunchy fried chicken. Their grits are just like the kind I was raised on...creamy and buttery.

Perfect place in Harlem

By Karena H |

After a beautiful day in the city we decided spontaneously to dine at corner social. We were lucky to get a table for three! The food was very good - we had crab cake and lobster ravioli- the prices are okay for New York City - the waiters are really friendly and we had a great time! Cause of the good weather we sat outside and enjoyed the busy streets of Harlem! Highly recommended!

I Wish They Could Get It Together

By Roldanlopez |

I live in the neighborhood and this is exactly the type of place we need. I really want this place to be successful. I have give them a few years to find their footing, but big problems remain. The service is brutally slow. Usually about 20 minutes to get a drink. The drinks themselves are very poorly made. I end up always having to send back martinis that are 30% vermouth. The food has good flavor, but I've never been served a meal in under 40 minutes and more often then not we get the wrong thing or it has been lost in the kitchen. Management seems lost on how to handle a problem most of the time. This is a great space/location. Your neighbors beg you to do better!

Great place to be

By LSM472 |

We just found this restaurant by chance. Luckily we went in and although is was full, we got a table quickly. The food (Nachos and Salmon) was very tasty and the service was great and attentive. We enjoyed the atmosphere there a lot.

Worth a dine

By UrbanBuzzMagCom |

Went after a funeral and at this time they had 1 waiter and he was doing his very best to satisfy the hefty crowd during the midday rush. He was very attentive and attempted to meet everyone needs I was very proud of him I wish I got his name so his boss could give him a raise. The service was slow due to the no staff but the food for the party of 12 was very good everyone was satisfied. Nice place nice atmosphere and I enjoyed myself even though it was a humbling experience.

Good food, poor service

By betterbeclean16 |

The meal and atmosphere were both fine, but the service was very slow and not responsive. We waited a long time to receive drinks, have our orders taken, receive the check, pretty much everything. For a small place, they should be able to manage this better.

Brunch Vibe in Harlem

By AirSchis |

Definitely a place for any time spent in Harlem. Very easy and comfortable ambience that will be appreciated. We ate on the patio right on Lenox Street so even more enjoyable. You get an alcoholic drink with your brunch entrée so a great start. Lots of interesting choices and the three brunch dishes were very good. Kind of a pub type atmosphere with no pressure and not pretentious. Servers and helpers were friendly. Good portion sizes.

Hip place in heart of Harlem

By Omar Khan |

My wife and I stopped in for a pre drink in advance of dinner at Sylvia's which is located just across the street. We were pleasantly surprised by the vibe. Despite being part of the gentrification of Harlem this place had a hit of an old school vibe to it. Friendly staff, interesting regulars and a reasonably priced menu. We had oysters and some locally inspired cocktails plus some interesting conversations with the Hatian born bartender. Check it out!

Great food for food lover

By Ken S |

The Corner Social is a grat find in the restaurant scene quickly developing in the Harlem district. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Since it was a nice day I sat outside and watched city life pass by while sipping on one of their flavorfull cocktails. I hade the salmon dish and it was presented beautifully and tasted great. The other dishes coming out looked yummy as well. Service was very good too.

Try it

By amydialr |

Went for a quick bite but ended up staying longer because the DJ was just doing his thing Abd it felt like a party before we knew it. Tried the burger & it was relish with the truffle fries- yum!

Always a great time

By Carl B |

I always have a great time when I visit this place! I enjoy meeting old friends to catch up. However my last time there I was walking across the street holding my wife's hand and my wife tripped over the curve thus throwing my balance off slightly. The doorman stated as we walked up that I could not come in because my balance was off..?? so we went next door and had a ball!

Excelent food and service

Corner Social---funky restaurant in a funky area!

By Tracy S |

We loved the food, the area and the service here. Would definitely go back. The waitress was super friendly, even though it was a busy Friday night and the place was packed. The food was great and we enjoyed the crowd there.

Cool crowd, prepare to wait

By AlanPopely |

Great range of draft beers and good cocktails. If you haven't booked , like us, you'll probably have a fair wait ahead of you. The crowd is worth watching while you wait. Food is fair but you're coming for the vibe. It's all happening here.

Sunday Brunch

By Desiré Davis |

I visited this place on Sunday for Brunch. I arrived very late to meet my friends and learned that they give each table 1.5 hrs to eat. With that being said I had 45 mins to order my food and drinks which was something I was ok with. They had a bottomless cocktail menu for $25 which consisted of red/white sangria, mimosas, and rum punch. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my entree and I did not like them. Shrimp and grits are hit or miss with some places and this place had too much broth in theirs. I was almost a soup. I enjoyed the sausage and some of the grits. I would recommend it here, but come on time and explore other menu options. BTW they had a GREAT musical playlist in the background.

Sunday Night Enjoyment

By letsgoazcardinals |

The food was excellent and well presented. Nice meal with friends, but the main enjoyment was the DJ. DJ Show and Tell played upbeat music which made the meal even that much better. Most of us were eating while dancing in our chairs, would highly recommend the food. Fantastic meal for 2 is the Social Grilled Platter was more than enough food for the both of us......

Great Atmosphere and Amazing Food!

By Telisha B |

My girlfriend and I literally stumbled across this place by accident one evening but boy were we glad!! First off the servers made this visit amazing! They were so accommodating to our seating and food preferences. They even informed us about their late night Friday and Saturday social atmosphere - set coming back to experience that! The whole vibe in this spot was on point from the music, food, people, and location! I can say it was a bit pricey but hey, they are on one of the busiest streets in Harlem. Definitely recommend and I know you’ll enjoy!

Food poisoning/clueless management

By 411NYC212 |

Beware: their nachos are DISGUSTING. It all started odd - nachos came piled with a mound of white stuff that I thought was sour cream - then three bites in, I found an old, hard and crusty french fry buried under the nachos. So I returned the order and got a new order. Again it came piled with a mound of white stuff that I thought was sour cream...tasted a bit odd, but I've never had anything with 12oz of sour cream on it before, plus I had already returned one order of nachos, so I scraped the white stuff off and was left with a pile of soggy chips, which I hesitantly ate. Told waitress when she cleared the plate that there was way to much sour cream on the nachos (not for a refund, just as an fyi for future customers) and she said, "oh, that's not sour cream...that's swill...we put it on the nachos because people complained that there isn't enough stuff on our nachos." GOOGLE DEFINITION "'SWILL': kitchen refuse and scraps of waste food mixed with water for feeding to pigs." THEY FEED THEIR CUSTOMERS PIG SLOP...literally. Are you kidding me??? I tried not to think about it until I went home and two hours later was doubled over with food poisoning. I tried calling as soon as I could get the strength (about 24-hours later) to let them know. Nobody returned my call. I went in as soon as I could walk to tell the manager, and he said he was "not from the industry, so he didn't know what was on the nachos." He said he would refund my charges but didn't know how. A restaurant manager that doesn't know how to reverse a charge...really? I left just glad that my food poisoning wasn't worse - because who knows what I ate - and will not go back. Honestly, even looking at their sign now still makes me nauseous. Beware.

Pork Chop <3

By sassyism |

Went there to have a lunch with my native New Yorker friend. Easy access location, casual yet stylish ambience, their juicy pork chop was absolutely my fav <3 When you are in Harlem and don’t know where to go, they won’t disappoint you. 駅近のロケーション、カジュアルでスタイリッシュなアンビエンス、ジューシーなポークチョップは断然おススメ。気軽に立ち寄れるレストランです。

A really good find in Haelem.

By Stefan L |

A tour bus load of us visited Corner Social for the included lunch. I usually do not comment on these restaurants for most are below average. Corner Social is an exception. The atmosphere, cordiality (if that's a word),service and food was superb. Maya, the manager, and her very good wait staff were very attentive and helpful. All three courses were served promptly. The salmon, Chicken and steak plates were better than I have had in some top named restaurants. The honey mustard salad dressing was superb (we were offered some to take home). Best of all was the brownie a`la mode. Warm, moist, airy and not overly sweet. Next time in Harlem we will stop in again.

Great spot.

By Kevin B |

We didn't eat here, but it's a great bar with lots of different beers and a cool vibe. We will definitely stop in again when we're in Harlem.

Perfect corner to watch the world go by

By LastSecondTraveller |

First time guest at Corner Social; what a nice place! As the name suggests it is on the corner and the folks are social. We sat outside on a perfect day and enjoyed people watching for hours. The food was excellent. I had the Steak Salad and she the Bean and Avocado Dip. Reasonable prices, great service! Who could ask for more

Interesting Place & Great Service

By Kristin R |

We went to Corner Social to have brunch our last day in New York. It was busy when we arrived so they sat us at this little nook in the corner with a ledge to sit drinks on until we were able to get a table. We were given a complimentary mimosa or a Bloody Mary, we had both between the two of us. We placed out order before we got our table so once we were finally seated the food was quick to arrive. I ordered a smoke salmon sandwich that came on a croissant. It was delicious. My friend got the chicken and pancakes, which she sent back after a few bites because it was dry. The manager came over and quickly resolved the problem, offering her another selection. She ordered what I had and was pleased. Then the bill came and her meal was comped. We were both very pleased with the customer service. I would go back in a minute.

Drinks before dinner

By Diane C |

Arrived early for our, booking at Sylvia's across the road so decided to have some drinks. Lively bar with good atmosphere. Drinks were well priced we had wine and beers. We were early so did not get chance to enjoy the music, we did notice that security was tight and bags were being checked could be a good or a bad sign. We would go again if we were in the area.

Terrible service, fun scene

By Doug S |

Great location, fun scene, yummy food, but the service is invariably abysmal. The patio area is pleasant when the weather is nice, so if you can at least get a drink (good luck!) the interminable service might not matter so much.

Perfect buzzy bar and restaurant.

By Andrew D |

Went here for our last night in NY. it was perfect, busy, friendly, nice mixed crowd, great food, nice beers and terrific cocktails. Fabulous atmosphere, Definitely recommended.

Great Food, Awesome Place

By JasmineK89 |

Went here for brunch during a trip to the city for Electric Zoo weekend (during Labor Day weekend). The place was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately. I wound up getting the Classic Breakfast and my friend got Shrimp and Grots, as well as an omelette. The food was yummy and the prices were very reasonable. The portions are generous and filling. The service was efficient and satisfactory. Would definitely recommend this place!

Fun hot spot!

By Donyale |

Nice buzzy atmosphere, really good food, nice wait staff, and great to eat outdoors weather permitting. Love the kale salad but all of the food is fantastic. Always have it on my Harlem rotation!

Nice place for some drinks and people watching

By Desiré S |

Our plan was to get one quick drink her but we stayed for more than one. We sat outside since it was 17 degrees and it was a great place look at people and feel the atmosphere. Both the wine and beer was great but we came between brunch and dinner so the kitchen was closed.

Good meal, slow service

By benlew |

Got a table on a Saturday night without a reservation... happy about that. The initial server we had was not very pleasant and very slow, however the second server was quick and polite. Ordered the mac and cheese, steak sandwich and build your own burger. The first waitress forgot the extras I ordered, but the burger was still very good. Steak was yummy and the mac and cheese was exceptional. Fries in truffles are pretty amazing as well.

Lovely outdoor spot!!

By cmboykin |

We were strolling looking for a place to eat & stopped here. We were going to eat inside since it was hot outside, but it was cooler outside with the breeze. We were quickly sitted & attended too. The food was very good & noise level was moderate, not over bearing at all.

i was expecting much more

By Luke H |

This restaurant is very pretentious (think a bouncer at the door on a Friday night, yet a place is half empty once you get in). Seems like that appeals to the local meet market girls and wannabe types who cannot get into the Red Rooster across the street (we tried too!), because that is exactly the scene you will see in there. However, the waiters have NO CLUE (they have no idea of the ingredients on the menu and tried to once we were given a check and paid with a $100 bill, she brought us CHANGE and then requested we pay up to the price on the tab, claiming there was not enough cash there!!! Once warned that we already gave her a $100 bill and this was CHANGE, the waitress gave us a totally blank look and a lukewarm apology…lady, quit sleeping at work!). Food has pretentious high end names but execution is nothing more than ok, and nothing you haven’t seen before. Drinks have creative names but local tap beer was FLAT, and cocktails seriously too sweet. I really wanted to like it, and it is not an aggravating place, but seriously, there are many places in Harlem that will put your money to better use.

Amazing burgers

By ChrisAndEllie |

We stumbled into here on the 1st night of our holiday, incredibly jet-lagged and having not bothered even looking at a map. The result was great service, a wonderful atmosphere, and some of the best burgers we've ever had.

Resto agreable

By Celine B |

After a visit to Harlem, we had lunch at this restaurant where we can find frescoes by the artist Paul Deo. The music with DJ was very nice. Simple and fresh food. The mimosa as an aperitif! A nice place, with a very good welcome. Award like in NY.

Feels like coming home

By janiceo245 |

Used to work across the street and loved it then. Love it now, too. Went for a good-bye lunch -- 15 or so people. They let us order from the menu and even provided separate checks. The food is great -- I eat no meat so it was the grilled cheese with wild mushrooms and greens with an aioli sauce. Sandwich bread was thick and the whole thing was utterly delicious. Came with a soup bowl full of well-cooked and seasoned fries. People nearby me had salads, burgers, and all were satisfied. The atmosphere is casual, easy, but wait staff are attentive and patient. Ambience is just what I like -- polished rustic and the room is broken into different areas so wherever you sit it feels cozy. Prices are great for the quality. Any time someone suggests going to Corner Social -- I'm all in!

Poor service, don't go if you are expecting standard edible nonfried food.

By Ols22 |

We arrived at 2145, asked if we could still order from the fixed menu [closes at 2200] the waiter said yes. He went to get our table ready but didn't return until close to 2200 and off course then said it was too late. That was ok, he then left us whilst we decided to order, he never came back and we had o go find someone inside to place our order. The waiter looked so vacant and absent like he wasn't really there... it was quite odd, maybe cos he didn't really care...anyways we ordered, I had the quinoa which was absolutely foul and inedible, cold, no taste whatsoever, soggy... I wasn't; going to say anything but then my sister told the waiter who then offered me an alternative, the house salad, which was fine. I was starving and devoured it. At least he offered me an alternative, and he came back to ask if it was ok. To pay the bill, service was also that poor I had to go searching for someone. Would never return.

Monday dinner

By frankspurs |

We were shocked how packed the place was on a Monday evening but soon found out why, the cocktails, food and staff were all wonderful. Monday is mixoligy day at the bar, you name the spirit and mix flavour, they make you a cocktail, mine was gin, st. germain, fresh lime and mint, delicious. My friend had the the Montauk Flounder which was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, light and fluffy inside, I had the crispy pork belly and the beef short ribs, both were superb.

Brutal Brunch

By snoogle |

I think this place mainly survives by virtue of being across the street from Red Rooster and catching their run-off of people who don't want to wait to eat. And if I had to guess, this place is probably OK as a place to get some drinks and some pub food but my god they should not be serving brunch, what a travesty! I had their version of Eggs Benedict, two overcooked eggs (rubbery solid in the middle) served on top a soggy piece of bread with spinach mush (clearly frozen), ham and hollandaise made from a packet mix. It was foul. My companion opted for their Conflake Crusted French Toast and it almost brought her to tears. Imagine a piece of bread, not egg-dipped, just raw, crusted with cornflakes and then fired in a pan with mushy bananas and marscapone in the middle, there was nothing at all 'french toast' about it, it was a grotesque sandwich, no more. The menu claimed it was served with creme fraiche which in fact turned out to be Ready Whip. They should not be serving brunch, what a disaster

A favourite spot

By Lisa A |

This is a favourite spit in Harlem. Always crowded. I love the energy. I have been there alone and with friends. Fun both ways. Good food. Great drinks and people. DJ on the decks most days and most times. Lots of beautiful people.

Overrated!!!

By VacationGirl369 |

Not sure how to describe this place but I am ver clear that I would not return. I went with 4 of my friends on a Saturday evening at 8:30. It's very small, so space is limited as soon as you open the front door. The hostess stand was literally at the front door causing 20 of us waiting in line to play musical chairs....or should I say stand. We decided to get a drink from the bar which is also hanging out the door....seriously. Im not sure these bartenders went to school or are trained but the drinks were horrible. I ordered a Sangria which looked and tasted as if it was made with Shirley Temple mix. When the drink came we all said in unison "that's not Sangria." It was disgusting so of course I returned it. I exchanged for one of their "specialty drinks" the Angel of Harlem. It was a weird concoction of coca cola and dishwater. One sip and I was done. My friends were afraid played it safe and had wine. We were given a table that was less than a foot away from the table next to us. We were so close I could hear their "romantic" conversation, which I didn't need to hear while eating. Speaking of eating we could barely read to menu written in a 5pt font. I guess we're celebrating Black History Month and they wanted us to read by candlelight. My friends and I had a very busy day and were extremely hungry, however NOTHING on the menu stood out as a "gotta have." Instead it was a "WTH." So we were very disappointed with the fancy smancy Ruby Tuesday menu. Lol. We started with the overpriced fried macaroni and bruschetta. 3 fried balls of Kraft Mac n Cheese. Really?? Bruschetta? how about Do Better!! not impressed. It took forever for our entrees ti arrive, but when it arrived it was nice and hot. 3 of us ordered the catfish one ordered the salmon and one had a salad. Guess who had the best dinner? Bingo, the salad!!! The scallions made with the the catfish were over cooked. The catfish alone was good. Nothing special to talk about on the cab ride back to the hotel. Our server appeared to be working hard but she was clearly overwhelmed. Can you please get more servers.....oh wait you can't because the place is too small to accommodate another server. By the way can you please have the really nice busboy change his shirt. The smell of sweat and dirty water is not appealing when trying to enjoy my crappy drink, overcooked scallions, overdressed catfish plate and the walk in closet ambiance. This place would probably be rated better if it was just a bar, but adding the tables and white barbecue/cookout chairs changed my rating. I feel like you started out with a blueprint for an afterwork or weekend spot for a bar and bar food. Then you became greedy and thought you could expand with a menu. Stick to the original blueprint. To my girlfriends..... see, I told you we should have gone to IHOP. Lol!!!!!!

Soft, fresh salad

By Unis M |

I must say I am a Harlem regular, but I haven't had the chance to eat in this particular restaurant. On this day I ordered a kale salad with cranberries, parmesan cheese and a tasty vinegrate. Once I got my kale salad, I took my first bite and I was just mesmerized. The kale was super fresh, soft and tasty. The cranberries on top gave it an interesting twist of unique palette. I just loved it. I also ordered garlic pan seared spinach. DELICIOUSSSSSSS! ! I am returning to this restaurant for sure.

Music, dancing and lovely food @ restaurant week

By Willemijn L |

Best place we've been so far. The restaurant week menu was nice and the nacho's the best. Great music. My 7-year old daughter could'nt sit stil.

Totally worth it

By Renay_KE |

The Corner Social has positive vibes, energy and style. Our server was great- very welcoming and knowledgeable on their menu. We were on vacation when we decided to stop by for an hour or two for a quick meal on the way to our apartment. We ended up staying for close to 5 hours. Their menu is extensive, food presentation and portions (we had the platter) were very impressive. Worth every dollar.

Brunch. Music. Drinks. You name it...

By FreddieBTV |

Great vibes and I always enjoy the brunch items here. Food is made to order with fresh ingredients. In addition, each brunch entree comes with a complimentary beverage such as a Mimosa, Bloody Mary or Bellini. Service and staff are always of good cheer and extremely hospitable. Prices are Mid-range, but not high. There is usually music playing or a DJ spinning. A great place for meeting ups with friends or even small events.

Great food, cool ambiance

By Ana V |

The food was delicious. I had a kale salad and a side of truffle fries. The music is loud but enjoyable. Nice for a catch up with friends. Would definitely go back.

Doggy Dog World

By HarlemKM |

I would've given them a 5 however I'm a bit disappointed at the approach used here. My boyfriend and I arrived around 9 and wanted to sit inside but there was a 30 minute wait with 4 empty tables that were "reserved" so we agreed to sit outside. Atmosphere was laid back a lot of people watching. I'm a Harlem native so I enjoy seeing my fellow Harlemites in action. In a middle of a dialogue the hostess comes over to ask us to move to accommodate a couple that had a dog. I refused to move- dogs are now allowed in restaurants? Furthermore I'm paying and the dog is not. The hostess clearly seemed upset that I rejected her gesture to move. Not my problem. She asked again and I said no. This is why this place gets a one. I think this was rude and very poor judgment. I'm sure management probably won't read this but isn't there some sort of violation for allowing pets in the restaurants even if it is outside dining why wasnt the dog on the outside like the sidewalk. This dog was under the table laying on the people at the next table's feet. It makes non pet lovers feel uncomfortable- people want to enjoy their meals and not feel like at any point a dog might decide to jump up and bite them. Dog lovers always say Oh he doesn't bite yea right he has teeth. Food for thought. The social burger was decent and the drinks were good I had a pineapple vodka drink. Wings were also good and total was around 100 bucks for the night.

Great Place

Corner social is a great little spot for anyone who loves good food, good music, good drinks. You can dine inside or outside which is great when the weather is nice! It’s a great place for relaxing with good people.

The place to see and be seen in Harlem

By MRidley |

Nice, lively atmosphere, crowded in the evenings. You have to have a meal if you want a table. Great for watching the game or as a meet-up

Quality food; good service

By Daniel C |

I'm never disappointed with the quality of the food. The seasonal squash bisque was one of the best soups I've ever eaten. The service is always good and the atmosphere is very inviting. I'll go again and again.

Nice...

We went here for drinks this past Saturday, the atmosphere is cool and very relaxing. It can get a little loud but overall I had a nice time!

Great food in a dynamic atmosphere

The inside of the restaurant was too loud for us (it was a Saturday brunch), but outside was nice and relaxed. We ordered wings, steak and chicken and waffles. The food was great! Drinks were tasty. Service exceptional. We will definitely be back!

A cool place to eat to see and be seen

This restaurant is interesting because most of the people I saw seemed to be very stylish. My daughter and I went for brunch. She has crab cakes and field greens, I had shrimp and grits. These dishes came with a free beer, mimosa, soda or other cocktail. The price for each was $16.00, which seems a good value. My daughter liked the crab cakes. I tried some and it was full of crab. My shrimp and grits was marvelous. The grits were creamy and there was some kind of semi spicy red sauce and andouille sausage. This kind of a small restaurant. It was crowded, but not uncomfortable. There is open air and inside seating.

Great Vibe

We had a lovely meal and were well looked after at the Corner Social after a big day of 'tourist-ing'. The location is ideal - just a short walk from the subway and in the vibrant Harlem eating strip. Happy hour drinks were a bonus!

Highlight of my visit

By Lisa A |

Granted, its was an extraordinary evening. I met up with friends at Corner Social after an afternoon of Cuban salsa music in the Park. We were feeling good. I don't remember the food or drink. In my mind, that means it was decent. What I remember best was Trinidadian Night. It was so much fun! Dance hall music on the decks, gorgeous women and a cheeky young man shaking it like they owned the restaurant. The atmosphere was electric. So much fun! (I said that already). I was a bit concerned early on because there were children in the restaurant (and the costumes were not child friendly). After the kids cleared out, we were all up dancing, drinking...I didn't want to go home. Really live crowd at Corner Social. Good looking men and women. (Fewer tourists than Red Rooster). Great location. (Service was just average).

Great food, but Beware the Bad-Mannered bus boy

By Superfrank139 |

My wife and I have visited here for brunch many times and LOVED it. Last night, August 24th, we had a birthday dinner gather of eight people at table 2H. Again, the food was quite tasty. It could have come to the table HOTTER, but overall I give another thumbs up to the chef. They put us at a nice table by the open window on what was a gorgeous night. Our waitress EILEEN was lovely and attentive. The music/DJ was great (although a touch TOO LOUD). Hard to hear each other speak. THE ONLY THING THAT RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY was when a tall wiry bus boy came over and rudely pointed to a container of cupcakes we had prepared for my wife's bday and said to my wife..."I want that one". We thought he was joking, but was quite serious. Now, we do not mind sharing...it wasn't that....it was the blunt way in which he approached the table (and my wife directly) with an air of entitlement. Almost as if we were in his home having dinner. Completely unprofessional. In general, most of the staff could use a lesson in manners. That said, this was a fairly small, yet noticeable hick-up, in what was otherwise a wonderful evening.

Disgusted in NYC

The experience at Corner Social was so bad that I refuse to even give it stars. By appearance and location, it seems like the perfect spot BUT it wasn't. A group of 7 of us went to celebrate a friend's accomplishment. We were ready to spend money and have a good time. First issue, a hostess and a waitress who couldn't get there stories straight as to whether they were going to move us to another table or not. One would give one answer and five minutes later the other would come with a different story. Interestingly enough, that's the only time our waitress came back to the table quickly. That and coming to slam us with the tip. At one point, a friend waited 10-15 minutes for a beer and 20 minutes for a menu. Food came out faster than his items. Then to top of the lackadaisical customer service, it was overcrowded so much so that people were pushing into you as you sat. BUT that's not even the worse of it. Another friend's bag was stolen. It was time to pay, she looks down and her bag was gone. And what did the waitress say "Oh maybe your other friend who left took it. You guys were sitting together. Things just don't happen that way." WHAT?! After telling her that it could "happen that way," to get the manager and look at the camera that was over our table. Guess what? It did happen that way. I wish I can say that they were accommodating but it was more like trying to hush us. They text the police, didn't call them. We waited a good 30-40 minutes for that. Then they had the nerve to put a full bill on our table after our entire experience was tarnished. We had to get the manager to at least take off the bill of the person whose bag was stolen. But they continued to charge us for the rest of the bill with a 20% gratuity. Then the rude female manager and female waitress decided to do a double team on one of us when we continued to complain. Like a cat fight. No sympathy. No respect. No consideration. Highly unprofessional. And I dare say, that if we were a table full of white people things would have been completely different. Disgusting. P.S. - Another patrons phone was stolen by the same larceny bandits. P.S.S. - Another customer informed us that this happens all the time. P.S.S. - They have a frame hidden in the back stating that they are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Seems like this happens all the time. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Tasty, affordable brunch and drinks spot in Harlem

By ajefferson2015 |

Harlem has gotten expensive and trendy and there is no shortage of good food. On 125th its either chain restaurants like IHOP and Applebee's or $25-30+ an entree spots that take reservations. This place stands out because it is relatively affordable and really tasty with good service. I had a brunch burger for $16 that came with fries and a local draft beer. For $10-12 you can even get an omelet with a mimosa. We had a 4 year old and got her a side of sweet potato fries. Everyone was happy. I've twice brought friends from out of town here when we needed something near the 4,5,6 line. It's a nice, hip, Harlem and NYC spot without being snotty or crazy expensive and there is a good amount of seating. Their cocktail menu is fun too, which is about $14 each for artisanal cocktails. They have a reasonable beer, wine, and bar snacks list. I recommend this spot if you're in the area.

Not a bad joint

Nice place - servers seem a little "Channing Tatum" looks-wise and spacey-ness. Very friendly, just a bit off the ball. I would still come back. Prices are fair.

On this very hot July day We took the subway from Penn Station right to our destination. Then we followed the recommendations to walk the almost 10 blocks to Corner Social. Our lovely waitress Laura served us cheerfully. Hub had the beef burger and I had the shrimp and crap cake salad. He polished his off leaving about one French fry. I savored every bite I could of the incredibly tasty crab crake, the shrimp in a sauce that was yummy and the arugula salad until I couldn't fit any more in. Worth heating up for in the street. Now back to the Schomburg.

amazing menu

The foo here is outstanding. The chef knows a thing or 2 about sauces. Items we tried include Lamb chops (with spinach and a chutney), Pork chops and grits, Roasted salmon (witha delicious caper sauce), Shrimp cocktail, and the mussels. Highly recommend!

Not sure what the deal is with baseball caps, but i did see other people dining with caps on. It was 6pm on a Friday afternoon. I asked the manager about the hat policy. he gave me some lame excuse as to cameras cant see faces when you have a cap on. I'm really not sure to what type of crowd corner social caters to but i'm starting to believe that its not the community that surround it.

Nice place for daytime and evening outing!!

By Samirahsmom |

While visiting Harlem we frequented this spot since it was on the corner of Lenox and 126th street; a two minute walk from where we were staying. During the day the outside seating is excellent for a quick bite to eat and a little city/people watching; the evenings you may catch a local DJ and a lively crowd. During the week it is open pretty late and the menu is moderate, the food is good. Overall it is a nice place and I will visit again!!

Love this place!!!!!!

Have been here a few times visiting family. It's wonderful. Great food and service. They go above and beyond to make your dining experience enjoyable and the food is really really good. They recognize my little grandson's needs and bring complimentary things to keep him heppy. Will go again and again.

The social nachos are a MUST!

By Kikifromdablock |

I visited Corner Social with two friends who are also foodies and we were all very pleased. We ordered the social nachos with chicken as an appetizer and just the sight of the dish was breathtaking. The nachos were very hot and came with sour cream and jalapeños (a must for any great mexican-style dish). The portion size was perfect for 3 or more people. We then moved into our main course. I ordered the turkey burger sliders, one friend ordered the steak salad, and the other friend ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. They were both more than pleased, and I sampled the chicken from the chicken sandwich and it was fried to perfection--juicy and crispy and seasoned just right. I was not as pleased with the turkey burger sliders. The turkey meat needed way more seasoning (I hate the "turkey" taste in a turkey burger if that makes sense), but the garlic aioli was really great. I substituted my fries for a house salad which came in a light, vinaigrette-type dressing. The best part of our meal was the creme brulee that was topped with blueberry sorbet! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Let's just say I will be visiting Corner social again, and you should definitely stop by if you are in the Harlem area.

Good vibe for community dining

While its a limited brunch menu the food was good and they maintain a festive atmosphere with cocktails and a live dj included. Great time catching up with friends.
