We had Sunday brunch here. THe staff was really nice and fun atmosphere. Had the biscuits and gravy and sausage, fresh fruit and the breakfast burrito and all of it was really good. The only thing disappointed by was the fresh fruit because it didn't seem very fresh. Fun little hole in the wall!

My daughter went to New York City for Labor Day with her friends (all early 20s) and went to this place for dinner. Very close to the Hampton Inn seaport - 5 minute walk! The girls shared a margarita pitcher which served about 10-12 glasses which was a great deal! They also highly recommend the chicken and waffle strips appetizer, the blackened fish (great fresh fish), the buffalo chicken sandwich, and the quesadilla. The wait staff all helped at all tables, and they were very fun and personable. Overall great food, good vibes, and very reasonably priced. Since it’s a little off the beaten path, it is mostly locals and you don’t need a reservation. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

With live music on a Monday night, fun staff, great atmosphere, tasty food, this was a fun night out. The menu looks ordinary but was nicely delivered and presented. Definitely going back.

The food was good. Very eclectic mixture of different tastes. Fun little honky tonk tucked next to the Brooklyn Bridge.

We had eaten dinner at a restaurant around the corner from here, and our server recommended coming here for a margarita. The restaurant had one of the best margs in the city, along with the best PRICE! A good sized drink here was only $9 and they are not skimpy with the alcohol! Matt, the bartender on duty that night, was amazing as well & let us try other flavors. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to enjoy good food in the perfect location.

This is a great corner place near the Brooklyn bridge. We just happened upon it. Low key with great food.

Great food and really nice friendly service. It was a bit of a wait to get the food, but they warned me about it when I ordered. It was worth the wait. I truly appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. Would go again.

The food isn't awesome but it's pretty good with decent portion sizes. What makes this place fantastic is the atmosphere and the great range of beers! We stumbled across it and compared to some of the plastic, pretentious places we walked past and even frequented, this place was a breath of fresh air and felt like an authentic American experience

We popped in for a lunchtime snack and drink. After walking along the coastline form Staten Island Ferry, we arrived beneath the Brooklyn Bridge and were looking for a way up onto it . This place was found almost beneath it so we popped in. Popular with locals ( especially, during happy hour) they specialised in flavoured margaritas ( which of course we had to have) – these were like fruit ice slushies , delicious. There is a good choice of beers too. We also had a shared plate of nachos and dip. This was delicious and filled us up for our onward trek. The decor inside is dated and rough, giving it its character and perhaps a little dark ( after all it is in the shade of the bridge) . Staff were friendly and welcoming and gave us directions onto the bridge. It was a great little stop off on or trek for the day. Worth popping in

We tend to roam off the beaten track and found ourselves in a pretty quiet area close to Brooklyn Bridge. The outside temp was -10C and we were hunting for somewhere to warm up and linger for a while. Glad to say we fell into the Seahorse. It wasn't terribly busy but had a constant flow of folk and had a nice 'local' feel, which is a welcome break from the fury of Manhattan. The whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxing and it was gloriously hot, with nice ales (happy hour) and fresh tacos (Tuesday). The bar lady was really kind and helpful and gave us that little extra service that put a smile on our faces. Thanks :)

Ducked into the Cowgirl after a morning and early afternoon of sightseeing in the rain, It was a nice warm place to dry off and enjoy food and drink, Happy hour started at 3pm and we ordered appetizers nachos, popers and sweet potatoe fries which were all excellent. Kym made exceptional margaritas and the selection of draft beers was very good.

Food was average but great drink specials. More of a bar than a restaurant in my opinion. Fun drinking establishment.

we waited 45 minutes for nachos and a B.L.A.T. and the food is horrible. Nachos were cold and chewy. The B.L.A.T had so much mayo and 1 strip of bacon, it was all just gross.

this is as bad as it gets, even by new york standards. portions may be massive but totally at the detriment of good and tasty food. the so-called friend oysters have a batter so thick that it is painful to chew through them to find the oysters. the cutlery was dirty. the decor is appalling and the food is a real let down. i couldn't wait to leave

We ate here after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Stopped in on a Monday night and discovered it was live music night. The band was fantastic and the food and beverage selection was outstanding. The blackened fish tacos were super yummy! The atmosphere was fun and the music was an added bonus to our dining experience. Would definitely recommend!

My hubby and I found this place. As soon as we walked in we were instantly greeted by friendly staff. We didn’t have a reservation. We sat out on the sidewalk and our drink orders were taken. I had the frozen strawberry margarita and my hubby had a Bloody Mary. Great choices. Dinner we ordered the prawn and grit meal as well as the beef nachos. I think we over ordered. Huge portions. It was so delicious. The waitresses were super friendly and were happy to stop and chat. Keep up the great work. Love to go back!

Visited with our family of 4, 2 kids and 2 adults. It was busy because it was 4th of July. Service was slow but tolerable. Food was great. We all enjoyed what we had. The only disappointment were the margaritas my husband and I had. We ordered the premium ones on the rocks off the menu and to our surprise they were in the smallest glass, barely a few sips and done. We were surprised because we saw everyone else with drinks coming out in much larger mason jars. When we inquired we were told that because it was on the rocks it came in a smaller glass which didn't make much sense, as they were the most expensive drinks on the menu. We would definitely go back but would choose a different drink instead!

Visited with my family. Good selection of food and all our choices where excellent prepare. Not fancy, just good service and gray food.

On a wet January lunchtime this was close to the Brooklyn Bridge. There was a nice atmosphere and clean restroom. Bright decor. We had 2 nice draft beers. The menu had too much choice. My husbands chilli dog didnt have much chilli on. I had deep fried oysters which had come straight out of the freezer. The unusual batter was very craggy. Such a shame

I must admit this review is long overdue. Been here at least 6 times. Everytime, the food is on point and the selection of beers is great either by the bottle or draft. I order the pat la frieda burger with bacon and a fried egg on top with fries and a blue moon draft. Let me just say this burger is delicious, sinful and yes very filling. The bartender is quick to get your srink and the good thing is that this place is out of the way of the main street. I would have never guess their food is so amazingly delicious. Previously i had shrimp tacos and quesadillas and the food is always on point. I would suggest to be ccatefu when ordering cocktails with brand liquors, as i ordered 2 margaritas with jalapeno vodka and at $13 each they were not what i expected. However that was the only time i was disappointed, every other time i have walked in with friends we always have a good time.

We were wondering around Seaport and came across this bar. Super great value. We got two huge delicious frozen margaritas, which came in many different flavours. The bar staff were super friendly and made you feel at home. Wish we had gone back for more drinks.

Great views, great drinks, amazing food; Cowgirl Seahorse has something for everyone. With drink and food specials throughout the week, be sure to check their calendar so you never miss out of any of the amazing deals they offer. $2 Taco Tuesday is a personal favorite of mine with, you guessed it, tacos for only $2. Occasionally there will be a special taco for $1-2 more, but they are still well worth the price. Their nachos are some of the best that I've ever had. Ever. And nacho's are in my top three favorite food groups. Truly though, Cowgirl Seahorse is a hidden gem in FiDi and just far enough off the beaten path at the far end of Front Street that you probably never even knew it was there. A super friendly and accommodating wait staff is always at the ready to bring you another margarita, or talk you in to their Baked Potato Sundae. Yeah. A Baked Potato Sundae. Not to be missed, and not at all what you're thinking. Take a trip down to the South Street Seaport and treat yourself to the Mexi-Cali soul food of your dreams.

My mum and I visited here after doing a night cruise. We arrived around 9pm and were seated right away. The waiter (didn't catch his name but he was young man possibly in his 20s) was very friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better waiter. The portions were really big and very well priced. There was live music playing which was a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. Inside decor was great too. Would definitely visit again if we returned to NYC

This place is a great one to take the kids to, for several reasons. A - they are casual, friendly and welcome kids (+kids menu, coloring, decent washrooms) B - they have really good drinks specials C - the food is good. Some is decent and some is awesome, but overall, it's above par and great value. I had the buffalo blue chicken burger, ample burger and top notch fries for only $12. I was stuffed. Plus, it was happy hour, so my delicious marg was only $5. The kids love the dessert here - an ice cream sundae that looks like a baked potato. It's $7, but plenty to share.

Grab a seat outside, order food to your table through the QR reader or website and enjoy the blackened fish tacos. The nachos were abundant and just ok. The pulled pork tacos were less superior compared to the fish tacos. Service was good, bathroom was clean.

Had the shrimp & grits. Awesome. My daughter had the blackened fish tacos. Fried pickles were good too. Check it out!

We were told to try out this bar on our way to the Brooklyn bridge. It was hard to find but so worth it. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the ribs were to die for. Would highly recommend this place, the food is amazing.

I don’t know if it’s under new management, but the service has changed at Cowgirl Seahorse. This place was always a family dive bar with good food and drinks and servers that did the best they could under the circumstances. You never needed reservations and as long as you didn’t have high expectations for the food, you wouldn’t be disappointed. I went with my family today and an older guy with glasses and a hat greeted us at the door by asking if we had reservations. We laughed and said no...when do you need reservations at a dive bar? He seemed incredulous and asked if we were all together and how many of us were there. He asked us again if we had reservations and then pointed to the 3 kids with us and asked, “are they with you?” He was serious, not making light of it or cracking a smile. We’re all wondering what’s going on. We sit down and place drink orders and I order chips and guacamole for myself and my mom. Drinks come out to everyone at the table except me and my mom...the waiter comes over and looks at us, gives us a thumbs up and asks, “everything okay?” I had to say that was a hard “No”. The older man harassed more guests coming in (we were right by the door so we were treated his terrible customer service). Food took an unusually long time to come out. Drink service was slow considering there was almost no one sitting at the bar distracting the solitary bartender. I think this will be the last time I come to this place. There are too many other options in the area to waste my money here at Cowgirl Seahorse.

My wife and I went to the Cowgirl Seahorse a couple of times during our trip to NYC. Definitely more rustic that fine dining, this is a fun place that serves a wide variety of good beers and decent bar food. It does have a fair vegetarian choice as well - always a bonus. The staff were also friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a look if you are in the South Port area, just leave the jacket and tie back at the hotel...

This place is one of a kind! The scene is like Bob Marley and a deepsea fisherman decides to design an restaurant! The food is amazing and the portions are perfect, not to big and not to little. The staff is friendly and makes u feel welcome! We went for lunch.

quick stop for dinner after long haul flight. nice small restaurant conveniently close to my hotel. Atmosphere great. Burger was good, fries were great. Declined to add cheese, may do that next time

Excellent food, nice, friendly staff and good vegetarian dishes. This place has a very relaxed atmosphere, although we were here early and I’ve understood that the pace picks up later in the evening.werhere early, I’ve understood that the pace picks up later in the evenings

we discovered this bar going to the brooklyn bridge. It's a very special place, with a very nice staff and a very good mexican food. We are from Spain, and we never felt as strangers. We recommend It a lot!!

Our NYC based daughter and her husband live and work in the Financial District of NYC. They introduced us to this fabulous restaurant/bar when we visited a few months ago. The restaurant/bar was buzzing, but not crowded, as many NYC spots can be. Food and drinks were fabulous and service was great. The decor of this establishment is appealing. Check out the wall nearby, which shows the height of the water during Cyclone Sandy. Wow! Looking forward to returning. Let's hope the rest of NYC hasn't discovered this pear of an area!

One of the hidden gems if the financial district. Taco Tuesday drink and taco specials make this a great spot in addition the regular food menu won't let you down either. Don't forget to try their mystery shots and a desert!

We were in the South Street sea port area and looked in our guide book for a recommendation for somewhere to eat and found this little gem. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good and they asked several times if everything was ok. We would definitely go back again.

Our server was very fun and energetic. We had tacos and I ordered their corned beef tacos with coleslaw (the daily special) and WOW was it good! The restaurant has great decor and it was busy for lunch. Even with all of the restaurant options, I would definitely return here on my next visit to the area.

Fresh tasty food here at a reasonable price. Staff helpful and friendly. Delicious beers. Loved the guacamole and taco chips. Wide range of items on the menu. Nice atmosphere in Sesport neighbourhood. Going back for more.

Had brunch and everything was exactly what you would expect. Friendly waiter, great shrimp and grits, coffee average bar drinks looked fun. Can't wait to go back for Monday night music

This is a hidden spot with funky decorations and music playing. The food was great! We had the Oyster dinner and the Hurricane Nachos. Both were excellent. The Nachos came with every kind of meat they use, we especially like the pulled pork on it. It was huge! Oysters melted in your mouth the coating was so light. It was cold in here. Definitely would eat here again when we go back to NY.

Perfect place to rest our legs after a long day. In the shadow of Brooklyn Bridge we ordered 2 beers, a corn dog and a baked potato!!! Living the American dream as 'Brits Abroad'. Quick service even though some beer taps were off but seated quickly and obviously a thriving little place with live music nights. Be careful as they will spam your e-mail though!!

Been there twice: in 2014 and 2016. And I must say, these guys make the best frozen margarita I've ever tried!

This place is a mish mosh of décor.....you would never know it was a place to go eat if someone didn't tell you about it. Their menu is a mix of different things like tacos, hot dogs, fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches....the one thing I will recommend is the Hurricane Nachos!!!!

I have been living in the neighborhood for more than 13th years. I used to go to this place everyday an be welcome. It seems that there is a new policy. I went there today right after their music performance, at 8.35 pm, the bar was sparse, I was waiving my hand to catch the bartender's attention, she ignored me systematically for more than 10 minutes chatting with another client. I was able to understand until I realized that I was the only colored person in the space. I left and went to another bar. It was a real shock for me since it was the first time I was rejected in the Financial District because of my skin.

We recently enjoyed a great meal (who knew a Whitefish Reuben could be so tasty?) at this hidden gem near the South Street Seaport. Great service with a fun crowd on a Saturday night. Staff never ignored us, but didn't hover either. Nice to see this place rebuild after Sandy. Looking forward to visiting again!

Visited this restaurant after a walk over Brooklyn Bridge well used by locals with a fantastic atmosphere. Food very good a must try are the Hurricane Nachos a meal in themselves. Very attentive and friendly staff Good selection of beers So glad we found this little gem if ever we’re back down Brooklyn way this will be a certain visit

Came back for lunch again, has been 4 years since our last lunch visit. Arrived Friday at noon, was a nice day out so it wasn't busy as of yet. My wife had the soft shell crab salad, wasn't a huge fan...I had the whitefish Reuben, not too shabby. Hope to go back soon.

With some pretty good Mexican and seafood choices. It's a small place that offers live entertainment. to liven things up.

We visit here before walking the Brooklyn Bridge. The shrimp and chips had a delicious light breading and the margaritas were strong! There was live music too. Fun place.

Went for a less formal bite to eat with colleagues. This is a funny 'off the beaten path' place. They had a band playing (Grumpy Old Gentlemen I believe was the band name) that apparently performs there occasionally and they were fun. It is a bluegrass band with banjo, steel guitar etc. The shrimp and grits were recommended and was tasty

This place is always busy. It has a great buzz and energy about it. The food is big, fast and delicious. The staff are great and the drinks are strong. I've been a few times with live music, but not sure when it is exactly. Great fun for a big group too.

Our family of parents and older teens stumbled onto this hidden gem after the immersive Van Gogh exhibit. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Frozen lemonade was a tasty bar treat. Blackened fish tacos(lunch portion) were delicious. All other dishes (beef tacos, chopped salad with shrimp and avocado, chicken tenders) were fresh and delicious. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and safe(proof of vaccine required for inside dining).

My sister and I had a coupon from restaurant.com to use here. The food was great, location was close at south street seaport. Lots of construction but will be great when finished.

I was there with my wife and son. Trendy place, but very reasonable with great food. Highly recommend the "Gator Bites", although my son wouldn't agree as they were a little to spicy for him. Our waitress was very friendly and truly interested in making our experience there enjoyable. The only downside, is this place is not real easy to find for visitors and could do much better on providing directions possibly via their web page. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We were down on a day trip, a Street Photography class, and had less than 90 minutes to get a bite to eat before the Bus was scheduled to leave from the South Street Seaport. Walked in and the staff very quickly put together a table for us. We had explained our situation and all of the Staff worked hard to make our experience come together, they were pleasant and accommodating. One of my companions had the Coney Island Beef Chili, with the Raspberry Lemonade, which she proclaimed as being "fantastic"! Another of my companions had the Chopped Salad, and insisted that it would be worth driving back down from New Hampshire solely to have that salad again. I tried the Shrimp & Grits, after my dining companions accepted my offer to try a sample of the grits, they decided that "sample" meant that we would share the grits equally, next time we will ask for side orders of grits for each of us. We finished the meal with a Pumpkin Flan, which was very tasty. The place is packed fairly well, such that you need to choreograph your travel, the restrooms are in the back of the second room, both doors are labeled "Gulls and Buoys" to indicate that they are not assigned to either gender, and the way to determine whether they are occupied is to check to find out whether the door is locked/bolted, good thing to keep in mind if you want private use.

Jalapeño poppers great. Think they call then alligator bites. Very friendly staff. Went twice just to relax. They did not care and kept refilling drink so I keep going back and the food is good.

The ribs were delicious and also the squash soup and beans were very good. Wide choice of draught beer. The location is just under Brooklyn bridge. For the ribs you'll have to wait a while but it is worth it.

We found this restaurant online prior to coming to NYC and knew immediately from the website that we had to go there and we are so happy we did. Had delicious food and excellent drinks. The bar tender was super friendly and made us feel right at home!!

Stopped for an evening meal at this popular restaurant and first impression was how friendly, happy and welcoming the staff were. Seated outside with a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge, we worked our way through the extensive drinks menu. My Bloody Mary certainly had hot Mexican inspiration and my wife’s strawberry frozen margarita was perfectly balanced. Our waitress. a young lady from Merrylands was friendly & helpful and made us feel at home by stopping occasionally to ask about our holiday. Our maître’d was also lovely to speak with and shared an Australian connection ❤️ We decided on Shrimp n Grits for entree and beef Nachos for main. Even after ordering, the beautiful staff stopped to chat and made sure everything was to our liking. Our meals arrived quite quickly, even with a full house and everything was delicious. The Shrimp n Grits were awesome 🏆 and our nachos, perfect 😋 Lovely to visit a venue, even for the first time, and be made to feel like returning friends. Portion size is quite generous so arrive hungry or choose a dish to share 😋

Visited here for lunch and ordered the beef nachos. They were great! Our waitress was so attentive and kind. The decor was adorable and eclectic. We had a great visit here!

TIP: VIEW THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE FROM TABLES, so on a nice day consider sitting outside on the Dover Street side. The fun theme of this small place was cheerful and our wait-person was very friendly. Most guests sit inside but there are just a few tables for outdoor dining as well. The food was beautifully prepared and very tasty. The only drawback was waiting 40 minutes from the time we ordered till the time any food arrived Even then we did not have utensils to eat with until a while after that. Waiting made us nervous because we had reserved a 7 PM harbor cruise from South Street Seaport and that was still several blocks away.

Came with mom and I had a tasty burger and she had the fish tacos, two orders because she loved it so much. The spot is good and the beer flows well.

Today was my first visit to Cow-Girl Seahorse, and it will NOT be my last! We were there for lunch on Halloween day, and the special decorations, our server in costume as Frida Kahlo, the Day of the Dead drink specials, and even a special little trick-or-treat gift all added to the fun and lively atmosphere. I can only imagine how bustling it must be at night! The Southwestern-themed, casual menu offers something for everyone. Prices were good. I had the veggie burger basket, while my daughter had a cup of delicious chili and a salad. Portions were good and the food was great. Our server was extremely attentive and she seemed to really enjoy the fun of being in costume. I had a glass of wine, but I enjoyed looking at the special drink menu and the beer of the day and "mystery shot" signs at the bar. I would think this place must be popular with the locals in the South Street Seaport area, and I highly recommend it for visitors as well.

We had a group of 5 college freshmen so wanted it to be a fun evening. Food selection good - listed as Tex/Mex but more than that. Hand cut chips and quac were really good as was the mixed app plate (onion rings, chick wings, fried pickles, coconut shrimp) . Good vegetarian picks too - 1 needed. The squash soup was great, pulled pork sliders, chicken and waffles, fajitas, special turkey sandwich and black bean quesadilla all reported very good. My only suggestion is for kitchen to keep an eye on the fryer . Then dessert - hard to choose but the beignet (small donut) sundae - So GOOD ! Had a great time - staff very nice. Will be back !

A friend and I went for dinner here last week and really enjoyed the experience. We had friendly service an excellent choice of beer and very good food. We started with guacamole and house made chips and I had a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. The onion rings are freshly made and fabulous. The pulled pork was flavorful. We will be back

We stopped here for a quick dinner after arriving in the city and prior to heading up to a show. They have an good menu with a wide selection of interesting items. Also, there is a sold beer list.

Conveniently located under Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side. We enjoyed going somewhere that felt fun, American and not touristy. Attentive service and really good frozen margaritas!

I am an East Coast beach girl and I love the vibe here. This was my second visit. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had shrimp tacos, fresh chips and guacamole and margaritas. Everything was great. We also had the $2 mystery shots at the bar. Lots of fun here along with great music playing in the background. Afterwards, we walked the Brooklyn Bridge. This was a great afternoon and we will look forward to coming back.

Restaurant is fun, quirky and very noisy but we enjoyed the atmosphere. Food and drink very good. Marked it down as a 4 just because one of our meals was not good, the chicken sandwich, but burgers, pulled pork and salads were good. Happy hour with glasses of wine at half price and bottles of wine half price on Thursday. Tried the iced margarita on the last visit. Wonderful.

Our family of four enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this funky place near our hotel. The decor is fun to see and talk about, the drinks were creative and good, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the salad and tacos along with chips and GREAT zesty guacamole. The tacos were good as well. The three scoops of vanilla ice cream were a big hit with the kids (who also enjoyed the seahorse drink stirrers). The place was busy and full of the happy hour work crowd so I would not say this is a place geared for families but it is a nice place to go that is different in the city with kids! I would go back! The service was not above nor below what I expect at a restaurant!

A casual bar with a lot of regulars. Indoor and outdoor dining. Food variety is “something for everyone.” The salads were great; so was coconut shrimp. We ate lite this night but we saw killer nachos going to another table. I don’t think you can make a bad choice. Oh yeah...hockey playoffs were on the bar TV. Fun!

This is a unpretentious Southwestern restaurant near Brooklyn Bridge. Menu is the typical Tex-Mex fare. Food comes as expected and portion is quite generous. Taste is on the sour side. Service is unremarkable and price quite reasonable in Manhattan. Can give a try when in the area.

This is a very good casual restaurant in the Seaport district. They have a good selection of beers and drinks and a fairly eclectic menu.

Off the beaten track, this funky place by the Brooklyn Bridge is great for families, dates, friends, and just about anybody. Excellent down home cooking -- eg, fried chicken to die for!

This is a great little place which was mostly full of locals the night we were there. The food is Tex-Mex, and very tasty. I had good plate of enchiladas. The Queso dip was great. Friendly, helpful staff. If you want to get away from the craziness in Mid-town, this place is worth a try.

We are here with the family based on reviews. If I didn't have the kids, I would have sit at the bar. Between us, we tried the rattlesnake bites, they were awesome! Buffalo chicken finger, very good & tasty, the wings , they were large and very good. I have to say they have the best blue cheese I've ever had. We also had a seafood basket; cornmeal breaded oysters, shrimp, and fish. It was very good along with the homemade tarter sauce. For dessert; key lime pie and coconut cream pie, they were both excellent. I also had a margarita on the rocks & a frozen one. I'm not usually a frozen margarita fan, but these were excellent. The service was great & I would highly recommend it. Very kitschy decor, really a neat place!

shrimp sautéed with bacon and hot sauce over grits!! Enough said!! Great atmosphere, friendly staff!

Nice staff very attentive and friendly. Drinks were good, didn't have a chance to eat but will be back to try something

The decor is cute. The staff is super friendly. The margarita is excellent. The blackened taco was really good. The shrimp and grits were ok.

After a long day walking this was a lovely stop off in the evening. Great beers on draught (although blue moon ran out), delicious corndog (only $4) and an awesome ice-cream baked potato. Really enjoyed the vibe with bluegrass live CD playing and would go again if we come back to NYC.

Stopped in for lunch. They have a great menu and everything we had was super. The venue is eclectic with cowboy and seahorse and Canadian memorabilia. The music was awesome and all 80 's hits. The service was quick and courteous. The price was right. We will seek this place out in the future.

Visited tonight as a family. Live music on which was very good and added to the cool atmosphere. Shrimps, burger and fried oysters were all absolutely delicious and service was also top notch. New favourite personable place to visit in NYC. Thanks!

This is a little bar/restaurant close to the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge in the outskirts of the Seaport area. It's a short walk to the hustle of the shops etc... Our service was just outstanding. Very nice young man who was helpful and friendly. The monthly theme was The Farmers Daughter so they had a additional different menu to choose from as well as the regular menu. Plus there were all sorts of plastic fruits and seed packages hanging around- what fun! My friend and I each ordered drinks and split a breakfast plate and veggies. There was plenty of food for the 2 of us. It was fresh and delicious. My friend was thrilled to see their large selection of draft beers and I was thrilled to see some fun fruit combos. They have music some evenings too.

Cowgirl Seahorse-NYC-funky retro bar near the Brooklyn Bridge. Quirky interior of colored lights, non-matched lighting and exposed brick. Mix of Tex Mex and seafood menu. Proof of vaccination cards had to be shown upon entry. And all covid precautions in place here. Very personable server let us know of the specials and brought drinks. Went straight to the deviled eggs on the appetizer menu. We will try these anytime. They were a bit on the bland side having no real additions to the filling. But they were smooth, not too mustardy, and delicious. The wife chose the all chopped up salad, leaving out the avocado. Romaine, apple, tomato, pecans, Jack cheese and a lemon poppy dressing. She chose the grilled chicken option for some protein. Everything fresh, crisp and delicious. Enjoyed it very much. My entrée choice was the shrimp shack wrap. A flour tortilla filled with lettuce, tomato, and onion plus shrimp and a lime dressing and jalapeno tartar sauce. The shrimp was listed as fried but I asked our server if it was possible to switch that to grilled shrimp. And they kindly obliged. Also asked for the tartar on the side. As with the salad, all the veg wonderfully fresh, the shrimp were grilled perfectly and the lime dressing was a great compliment to the seafood. The tartar had little in the way of kick which was fine with me. Followed all this up with a very nice in-house produced key lime pie. Fun place with good food. What more could you want.

Our son took us to this cute restaurant for happy hour, late lunch. We had the huge nachos which were loaded and so good!! We also ordered the whitefish Rueben sandwich, coconut shrimp, and chicken fajitas. I had 2 frozen margaritas which were so good!! The Rueben was tangy and beyond words good!! Hubby loved his fajitas and I loved my shrimp! Service was perfect. I can’t wait to go back!

Recently returned from NYC and whilst doing the walkabout tourism bit we were in need of some liquid and alcoholic refreshment before getting the bus back uptown and we just happened to pass this establishment by chance. To be honest it doesn't look much from the outside but is very welcoming once you have ventured over the threshold. You are met by a very character defined interior. Once sat at the bar you are served by a very courteous, friendly and funny barman who verbally entertains you, makes you welcome and laugh at no expense to yourself. In fact he supplied us with two complimentary local shots - thank god we were getting the bus!!! as once inside we didn't want to leave just to buy more beers and other drinks. We didn't go there for food but it did look very nice and would definitely suggest thinking of eating there if you like Mexican styled cuisine. It was so friendly that the barman insisted another visiting patron looked like one of ABBA and then continued to play there songs. Infact the guy was the lead singer of a Rock Band called Steel Made from Switzerland - Paul Baron and he took all the ribbing about resembling ABBA well. He was there with friends who all enjoyed the banter and shots. Go there for some fun and look up the band as actually they played some of their music and were infact quite good. Well done Cowgirl Seahorse and thank you.

We stumbled upon the Cowgirl Seahorse restaurant a few years ago and each trip to NYC it is a tradition for us to stop for lunch. The restaurant is truly unique in its decor and the menu has something for everyone.

Came here on a quiet afternoon and had a cocktail and a slice of key lime pie sitting at one of the sidewalk tables. Love the name of this place. Friendly service.

This restaurant definitely has an eclectic and whimsy interior. The service was quick and efficient. The food and drinks were okay.

A funky little place a bit out of the way. Service was slow and indifferent. Soup was not served before entrees but then hurriedly brought out...”here it is!”. Food was okay, nothing more. Would not return.

Found this place online while researching brunch places in FiDi and sounded so cool. Very funky and cool spot right at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge. While the food was a tad slow, it was delicious. We had biscuit sliders, pigs in a blanket and beignets. All were great and to top it off, they played country music the whole time. So much fun. Will definitely be returning.

Really liked this place: went for brunch and dinner. ---Food is good ---reasonably priced/good value ---service is OK but acceptable ---house is pretty cool ---music, when I was there for dinner, was great If you are in the Southstreet Seaport area, highly recommended. Fun place.

On a margarita quest of Manhattan. Came up in reviews as good, so gave it a try. Don't bother. Way too much lime and could not taste tequila at all. Staff was nice and tried hard. A for staff, F for margarita. Other patrons seemed to be enjoying food.

We were looking for a casual place with good food in the South Street Area. I guess technically this qualifies although be prepared to walk into some fairly shakey territory or better yet m get an uber or taxi here. The seating was tight and it was a bit chilly inside due to the proximity of all seating to the door which opens and closes a lot. The food was OK/Average but the vibe of the place was pretty good and the prices were fairly decent.

This was the second time I have been here, the first being in 2016. The difference this time was our 13 year old daughter was with us and we had told her how great it was 7 years ago - as you can imagine she was very to what all the fuss was about. Sadly we were disappointed and surprised by what we experienced. The waiting staff were, to put it mildly, indifferent and not friendly. We felt rushed, not welcome or indeed appreciated for our custom despite the place being half empty. The only positive I can give was the food was above average. Although I am not a regular to NYC, if I were I would recommend you don’t bother with here. Plenty more welcoming places Downtown who give the impression that you are welcome and they are not doing you a favour for serving you.

The po-boy style fish here is so good! I am from the South and find it difficult to find corn-meal breaded fish, but Cowgirl Sea-Horse has it! And that jalapeno tartat sauce though...

What a unique place! We stopped by for weekend brunch with the family. It hardly felt like being in NYC; more like being at the shore, with the laid back decor, etc. Very friendly staff, and great food. You can tell they care a lot about the food as even the kid's meals had house made stuff instead of store bought.

Food portions are extremely generous and delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Great cocktails. Monday night they had live music which played slightly loud but good tunes that went with the theme of the restaurant. A really fun place to go out with friends to kick back and enjoy.

I was thrilled to find this wonderfully over decorated bar/restaurant on a dark street under the Brooklyn Bridge. Combining Happy Hour and Taco Tuesday makes for a great bargain. I was so impressed that I had a cocktail party for special friends and VIPS, and Cowgirl Seahorse did a GREAT JOB!!!! The passed appetizers were sizzling hot and tasty, the service was warm and friendly, and bottles of dry rose were half price! It is a very cheery respite any time of year, go early and often. This is not the best restaurant food in New York, but it is quite good, and always a really fun evening that does not break the bank. A great spot.

Ordered the "All chopped up" salad to take out before a boat ride on the Hudson. Wow it was phenomenal. So many flavors that all came together and worked well. It was definitely one of the best salads I've ever had, and I cannot wait to come back and have it again. The size was enough to feed 2, although I was still a bit hungry after. Depends on how much you eat!

I love this place! The staff were friendly. A little slow but friendly! The menu is great and there is a vibe to this place. If you want to go out with your friends and have a drink I would recommend this place for it's awesome, creative decor and chilled vibe.

My friends and I went here after not knowing where to eat once done touring Ellis Island. It wasn't bad... But not a place I'll remember when I'm old and wrinkly. First, it's at the very very end of the historic Front Street located in the South Street Seaport area... Practically under the Bklyn Bridge. The restaurant is small, had a live band (we went on a Monday eve). The menu had an assortment of seafood/ meat dishes. I had the shrimp and chips. The batter on the shrimp was pretty good. That's about it.

I need to disclose that I know the owner and her husband but that doesn't change the tenor of the review. It's hands down a great place to grab some excellent comfort food and drink at decent prices. The restaurant, which is nestled at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in the Seaport area, is fun. You walk in to the place and its old NY but decorated in a playful way. Bar on the right and dining the left and the back. The food is American and solid. The nachos are off the planet and the Tex-Mex offerings are delicious. Excellent burgers and fries. You get the picture. It's a place to have a drink and eat some filling food with friends. The wait staff is good and friendly and can handle a crowd. We were there for the 5th Annual Crusty Gentlemen (the fabulous house band) and the place was packed, and the wait staff didn't miss a beat. While I am prejudiced, I can assure you that my review is 100% accurate. If you're from out of town, check it out if you are visiting the Seaport and the World Trade Center. If you're a New Yorker, you got to go.

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly service in relaxing/fun atmosphere. Good for families. Can get crowded so make a reservation. Try it you'll like it

Cowgirl Sea horse is a great place to eat, drink, & be merry. Brian is one of our favorite bartenders. Food is flavorful and consistently delicious! Highly recommend.

We were in town for the Marathon and it was getting late and we were all hungry, tired and achy so we walked a block from our hotel to feed our tummies. The place is very fun but all the kids and runners wanted to do was eat. Our meal was not too much to write home about. We had a super friendly server but almost every meal was wrong or forgot to be placed at all. The beer was great. The outstanding meals were the gumbo and chili. The burgers were dry. The ribs were average but the serving was huge. I write realistic reviews. Not taking into account that we were hungry, tired and achy I can only rate this place as a step above a fast food joint. But the atmosphere was fun!

Went here for food when we arrived late in the city. Wanted a quick bite. Was there with husband, brother and his son(7). It is a bar with food. They did have a children's menu! The food and drinks were good. The atmosphere was "bar-like" because its a bar with food. It was quite noisy.

though we didn't eat we stopped in a few times over a four days in nyc usually around happy hour (4-7 ish). sat at the bar, good drafts, friendly bar staff. didn't try the "mystery shot" from the "mystery bottle" on special. a great addition to a fulton fish market bar crawl. take a walk on the brooklyn bridge before or after.

As I have coeliac disease I try to research places in advance, Cowgirl Seahorse had the advantage of being very close to our hotel and also having a few gluten free options. We started with some of the best sweet potato fries I have ever eaten (sprinkled with pecan nuts) then I had shrimp and grits which had a good chilli kick. We finished by sharing an ice cream baked potato which was simple but yummy. We liked the atmosphere especially as they were also playing great music while we were there - most of it British :-) Some nights they have live music.

Grab a seat outside, order food to your table through the QR reader or website and enjoy the blackened fish tacos. The nachos were abundant and just ok. The pulled pork tacos were less superior compared to the fish tacos. Service was good, bathroom was clean.

This is a great place to go for dinner. We had a great time with the family. I did make a reservation and glad I did because it got crowded quick. The decoration is fun and quirky and the atmosphere is fun. It is small and they tried to seat us in an awkward spot next to the bar and front door but did move us when we asked. I ordered the shrimp and grits my husband got the fish and chips two of the kids got the pulled pork sandwich and my youngest daughter got the chicken fried chicken. The food and drinks were very good but the pace was a little on the slow side since they were busy. Not a big deal for us. The food, server and atmosphere defiantly made up for it. The best thing was dessert! Get the "potato" ice cream for dessert!

I've been there on a quiet Monday and a busy Saturday. The food was consistently good each time. Whoever the chef is presents some awesome dishes. How can you not love pecan encrusted sweet potatoes. We were surprised with entertainment on Saturday.

Visited for lunch on a weekday - it was a little bit out of the way, but the food was great and portions were generous. Margaritas were so excellent we had two! Service was friendly and the place was quirky.

No tap beer because it wasn't working, ice cold can beer instead. Very different but cool as well. Nothing breathtaking but nothing rubbish either.

This could have been an off nights but it seemed like they had a full crew and everything ordered was not that good, especially for the price. The nachos were warm and very good but then it started to go down hill. Service was really slow and after 45 minutes the only sign of any activity was the waiter wanting a second drink order with still no food. The burger itself was excellent but the roll was cold and stale. The comments on the other dishes was that chain restaurant food was just as good for half the price.

Great little dive bar. Bartenders are great. Drinks are tasty. I would recommend going to this place if you looking to have fun.

As the name suggests, this is a pub style restaurant specializing both in quality meat and seafood dishes. Service was good and they play good rock music, but not too loud Not far from the steps up onto the Brooklyn Bridge, so a good place to visit after a stroll across to admire the skyline. Good beer selection too, including the excellent Lagunitas IPA.

We have been coming to Cowgirl Seahorse for a number of years and just realized that I haven/t taken the time to say how much we love this place. Matt the manager always makes sure that we have the best time, service and food. We have brought many friends and will continue to do so. On occasion and typically on a Sunday we sometimes are a little under the weather mainly because of having way too much fun on Saturday night. If that's the case the number one place we call for takeout is Cowgirl. They always get our order right, fast and same quality that you would have gotten in the restaurant.. Love this place and will continue to go back

Nice spot in Seaport! Bit understaffed but food was delicious and service friendly when you could get their attention. Try the nachos!

Staff more than helpful via email as I was looking for a place that could handle my power wheelchair and was close enough to pier 17. Booked my party of 4 the high tops in front window for a Friday at 5:30. Front door was a bit of a tight access but made it in ok. Tables were perfect; rest of restaurant would have been way to tight. Place was crowded and loud. Perfect start to the evening. Staff continued their helpful ways getting drinks and appetizers promptly. Menu has lots of variety; chips were warm and tasty. Fried oysters done well as was chicken fried chicken dinner and sandwiches. Not a gourmet dinner by any stretch of imagination, but tasty, good portions and set the stage for fun night at the tip of manhattan.

We went there for dinner and had a really great time. The service was particularly friendly and the food really amazing. I had the schrimps with grips and it was as tasty as it can be. My wife ordered the enchiladas and there were excellent too. For dessert I chose the peanut butter pie and it was amazing. Meanwhile my wife tried the brownie (I tasted it :p) and it was delicious. Definitely a good adress because the price was also not expensive regarding the quality (around 25$ per person for a main course and dessert) Moreover the atmosphere was very fun and there is a quiz game every Wednesday.

Very welcoming friendly staff but had to wait over 30 mins for a simple quesadilla. No real urgency of attention and staff were happy to talk to locals instead. Food when it arrived was just okay - lacked presentation and taste. Expected more based on the reviews. Disappointed.

The food was fantastic. The clientele was young and trendy (I was the oldest person in the entire place at age 45). The location is great, in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge.

We stopped in yesterday for a drink and some tacos. The place had a nice locals vibe going on. Everyone at the bar seemed to know the staff who were a friendly bunch Which was nice. The problem was the service was a bit slow because of that. Each time we needed a drink, place a food order, or even ask for the cheque, you had to concentrate on catching someone’s eye as the bar wasn’t always being manned. Frustratingly. Our chicken and pork tacos were fine. Fresh made and all ok but both lacked flavour. Without adding the house table sauce to them both they would have been very underwhelming. All ok but nothing to rush back for. Sorry guys.

We ate here two times after visiting Manhatten. The staff are very friendly and the location, the atmosphere and music are fantastic. It doesn´t matter if you eat enchilada, salad or BBQ, it taste all very good. We will come back next time we visit New York.

Although the service was a little slow, the food was delicious and just what we needed after a long walk over the Brooklyn bridge. The gumbo was delicious and quite hearty. The place is small and there can be a wait on touristy days.

My sister, niece, and I visited here on a trip to celebrate my niece's 21st birthday. We were taking a happy hour Statue of Liberty cruise from South St Seaport around 7 and this was the perfect spot for snacks and pre-gaming margaritas. The food and drinks were great. The atmosphere is quirky and fun.

It was my birthday, had a great time with my daughter...loved the staff, decor, food and atmosphere!!!!!

My cousins and I went to Lunch here after the Alzheimer's Walk. I am so glad that we picked this wonderful restaurant. I had the Blackened Fish Tacos..they were excellent. They also had a special on Bloody Mary's and they were soooo good. The atmosphere was so welcoming and quirky. Decorated with a crazy mix of sea and shore. The staff was friendly and the food was terrific. Food was hot and brought in a timely manner. We had the deviled eggs for a starter and they were delish!

This restaurant was right next to our hotel. There is a range of restaurants around to visit. We were looking for a themed place to visit with our son. There is a seahorse themed decor around the restaurant. There is a full bar. We had multiple servers and prompt service. We had to wear masks and there was a temperature check. We started with a Mexican beer and guacamole with chips. The guac did not taste fresh. We had buffalo wings which were ok. We did chicken fajitas which lacked flavor. The service was wonderful.

We were recommended Cowgirl Sea-Horse from a local who told us it was her favourite bar. She called up in advance of us going so when we entered we were greeted by name and got a great seat near the bar. The food was huge but yummy. We had the hurricane nachos, which may of been overkill on the toppings but so worth it. The frozen margaritas went down too easily. Overall a fun and quirky place that is worth a visit if you are in the sea port area.

Went this past Saturday as 2 couples touring as much Christmas in NYC that we could in a short time. WOW!!! Terrific food!! Cheese grits are just to die for as well as the bloody mary's! Huevos Rancheros is a must have! Just do it! We all had something different and it was a spot on and none of us could finish our plate!

We walked in and was blown away by the service and quality of food. Th bar had many options on tap and the food was off the charts pub fare. This is definitely a must visit place!

This was a fun and good bar-restaurant. The decor was so fun and interesting. The more you looked around the more you saw, had a fun way with S&H green stamps in their theme. The food was good and the night we were there they had live music.

I have to say besides the fun atmosphere our favorite part of this place in the Jaws sign by the front door. Very interactive experience.

We stopped in for a drink and some appetizers on the 4th of July. I had the rattlesnake bites and my husband had the wings. Both were good and the rattlesnake bites were hot. I could only eat 2. We liked it here so much that we left and came back twice that evening. Service was great even though they were extremely busy. There were at least 3 wait staff that checked to see if we needed anything every few minutes. I will defiantly go back just to hangout and drink some beer. Only gave 4 stars because I don't feel I really ate enough to rate it at the highest star.

We had a great time here. Service was quick and friendly and food was tasty. We had the sliders. Great atmosphere and fun decor.

Southern food restaurant located just by the Brooklyn Bridge, with a nice shabby chic retro feel, and a lively vibe. An extensive range of Southern dishes are offered for all courses and a good range of beers too. All of our dishes were nicely presented, perfectly cooked, and very tasty with generous spices. Portion sizes are very generous, we enjoyed the sweet potato fries and sugar reef coconut shrimps as appetizers, and the fajitas, shrimps & grits, and baby back ribs mains. Service was friendly and very efficient, and we felt the meal was good value. The tables near the door can be draughty in cold weather.

Food was AMAZING. Atmosphere was excellent. Seriously a great bar so much fun. I would recommend every time. I am so impressed and so happy we stopped by. Thank you for making our night so much better!

I really REALLY wanted to like this place. This place is decorated in a quirky offbeat manner which I feel is the highest point of its charm. Nautical and western objects decorate the walls and ceilings while mixing with a beachy, dive bar kinda feel. While the prices are pretty fair, I'd say the awesomeness of the food is pretty lacking. Our Menu Breakdown: The Rattlesnake Bites - waaaay too hot to eat. Munch at your own risk. Blackened Shrimp Quesadilla - large, tasty, though a bit on the salty side. Goes good with a salad to cut it with. Pulled Pork Quesdadilla - STUFFED full of pork! But suuuuuper tangy. Like makes you salivate a lot without meaning to tangy. Salads were generously portioned and fine enough to eat. Service was very VERY slow the day we went, even though there weren't that many tables. If you are looking to eat deliciously well, I'd try my luck at the other restaurants in the area. It was the name that brought me to this place and the high reviews, but honestly, I regret having stopped here. My guess it's mostly tourists that love this place, because they don't realize that NYC offers MUCH better.

This place is unique for Manhattan. It reminded me of an Outer Banks beach dive, especially with the shark margaritas. Quirky, playful decor. The classic margarita was great as were the chips and queso. The food was fresh and yummy. Noise level was perfect for our motley group of kids. Super friendly service to top it all off.

We went on a Sunday morning for brunch. We were seated immediately. The server came over & offered drinks right away. It took a little while to place our order & get our meals.

This was a great find! We were hot and tired and did not want to sit in the middle of the crowds at South Street Seaport area. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. The food was delicious - and the frozen margarita(s) (yes thats plural lol) - hit the spot on the hot day. The restaurant is small and "lived in" lol - but it was perfect for us for lunch. We will be back!

This was my first visit and I went with the fish and chips which were like you would expect. I saw several great dishes go by. People at other tables were sharing and enjoying their food. Wednesday night was trivia night with locals having a great time. Others were enjoying the bar and watching the ball game. I will definitely return and explore the menu further.

Found this place whil ewalking around the seaport area and had seen some reviews on Yelp. It's off the beaten path and offers a fun atmoshphere if you like noise and crowds. Food was okay, a bit pricey for what you get, even with NYC prices. Ordered the burger which was bland but cooked well. Seems to be a popular hangout for locals more than tourists, Might be fun to go to Drag Queen brunch on Sunday

We were about to talk a stroll over the Brooklyn Bridge when we happened to come across the Cowgirl Seahorse. So glad we went in. We visited last Saturday and the guy behind the bar was one of the best servers in Manhattan. Great beer selection, good food and awesome place to watch the football. Definitely worth a trip if you're in that part of town.

It was a really great experience have a meal here. Kids friendly place and great environment. Nice beer selection. Try fish tacos and pulled pork quesadilhas.

Tucked away under the Brooklyn Bridge by the South Street Seaport is a cool little place that serves great flavor. Menu is full of different types of food and offers excellent menu of beers. This is definitely a hidden gem.

Wow, what service. That staff seemed to love being there, were super happy, knew everything about the menu.. and not just one person, we had at least 3 different people stopping by to see how we were doing and getting us what we need. I wish I new her name, our main server was just again wow. Lunch on a Sunday and she must have drank a 55 gallon drum of happy juice. Just so refreshing to have an experience with someone who genuinely appears to love what they are doing. And then the food.. I should have ordered 100 biscuits, and this is just the biscuits, everything else was as awesome. And do not even get me started on the Bloody Mary, pure perfection. I wish I lived down the street, I would be there everyday.

After reading the good reviews we stopped there for dinner after visiting the Brooklyn Bridge. The location is convenient, the decor unique and the staff very friendly. We ordered the stuffed jalepenos poppers, the sampler basket and chilli. The staff was very friendly. They comped my two beers after they were late getting out one of the orders. Since it was an honest miscommunication I was not expecting that. The poppers and chilli were delicious. The sampler plates dissapointed. The seafood was so heavily breaded that you could barely find or taste the meat inside. The light uniform color and texture makes me believe they were prepared and frozen. All that would have been just a lesson learned until the bill came... almost $100 without tip!!! And that was after being comped my drinks. I know the prices in NYC but even compared with other places, this was way overpriced for what we received. I would go there again for drinks but would eat somewhere else beforehand.

All around...bad. The menu is a mish mash of southern (?), tex mex (?) and anywhere in between. In sum, it's not either. It's somebody's interpretation of what tex mex or southern must be like if imagined by some schmo in Brooklyn. Service was pleasant but not all there. Everything needed a reminder, the drinks, the ordering process, the refills. This place was just too much work and with absolutely no payoff in ambiance, food or pocketbook. Skip.

This is a cool restaurant/bar in the seaport. The food is pretty good and they have a lot of daily drink and food specials.

I have only been to New York twice, but I have had Cowgirl Seahorse four times. It's absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is so fun, and the staff are some of the nicest people I met up there. Being from Texas, we really enjoyed the fried pickles (definitely delicious) and chicken fried chicken. We also unexpectedly spent New Year's Eve there (ditched Times Square, it was miserable) and I had probably the best New Year's ever. It was very laid back and fun, and they even gave us free NYE hats, horns, and champagne at midnight. They also let us charge our phones, which was nice! Definitely check this place out, it's awesome!

We had brunch and came back for finger. Stuffed pepper with shrimp was really good. Staff nice and accommodating. Great for kids too.

This is a great choice in the South Street Seaport area. Lots of choices for Tex Mex or Mexican food. Great Nachos, great Margaritas and overall a festive fun place. Not particularly fancy, but good for a group and fun.

We'd walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and although we'd be advised to eat in Brooklyn Heights I'd found this place on the internet - I was not disappointed. It was Taco Tuesday and that's what two of us went for plus a wonderful house salad. This is a real locals pub/restaurant but the staff are friendly and welcoming to outsiders too. If you want to experience a local hostelry then this is the place. Just visit the loos and you'll see what I mean.

We have been to Seahorse 4 times now on separate visits to NYC and we just love it. The staff are super friendly and make you feel comfortable. The place is decorated in a cool, kind of crazy unique way, but it works really well. The food is great. This time we had brunch and drinks. The Beach Blanket Burrito was really good. Warning - the drinks are potent! The Shark-A-Rita is my favourite but it is strong. The new Mango Coconut Pineapple frozen Margarita along with the Key Lime Pie Martini are to die for. The views out the window of the Brooklyn Bridge are amazing. You have to go here. Short walk from a couple of subway stops.

I've been here 5 or 6 times over the past ten years, and it has never disappointed. Consistently good food and service. Fun with kids or for drinks with friends. The pulled pork nachos are outstanding.

An eclectic restaurant in a fun part of town. Great menu. Chopped salad was perfect and the grits were to die for.

We were in New York for a school field trip. My daughter was researching for a place to eat, and found the Cowgirl Sea Horse. The place was a basic dive, but the food was delicious. There were four in our group. We tried the homemade chips and salsa, which was actually pico, and homemade fried pickles for appetizer, both were wonderful. The homemade tortilla chips were great! The fried pickles came out steaming hot! The ranch dipping sauce was better than usual. The pickles were the best we had ever tasted, crispy not a little soggy like most fried pickles! Our party had three different entrees; pulled pork sandwich, deep fried buffalo chicken sandwich and fish and chips. I personally tried the chicken sandwich, and I ordered the fish and chips. The chicken was tender and juicy with a lovely bun that didn't disintegrate as my daughter ate it. I was a little leery of ordering the fish and chips, because they used basa fillet instead of halibut or cod. Not to worry, the fish was crispy and spicy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. It came with a spicy vinegar ketchup and a jalapeño tarter sauce. Amazing! I am a demanding judge of food, and the Cowgirl Seahorse came through. Our only complaint would be that after the initial ordering and serving of our meals, our servers disappeared and never asked if we needed anything, and I had to wave the owner/ bartender down to request the check. The prices were beyond reasonable for NY. We all highly recommend this place. It was small, so large groups may be a problem. There was an assortment of people couples, groups and a couple with not one but two adorable babies. If you are any where near the Cowgirl, you really must eat there. You won't be disappointed!

Right by the Brooklyn Bridge, this place serves great Mexican and margaritas. Also, after having lived in the Memphis, I noticed the menu also had a southern flair. Lots of character, friendly wait staff. Would definitely eat here again.

we went at an odd time - early Sunday morning for brunch and it was empty. But it was really nice, the people were nice, the food was good, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely will go back

Have visited a few times. Love the atmosphere here. They have wonderful drinks and the food is delish. How can you go wrong with a name like Cowgirl Sea-Horse. Love it!

The acoustics are not great but the food is good value and the beers drinkable. Recommend the sweet potato fries in particular.
Fantastico
I went to this place on labor day weekend and it was fantastic, I discovered this place thanks to restaurant.com and I have to say that the food was good, the staff is very friendly, and they seem to have a lot of specials during the week.
