Fun atmosphere for drinks or dinner..excellent food!

By BamaGirlMMM |

Wolfgang Restaurant has a great bar area for drinks and appetizers...or a very cozy, nice dining area for dinner. The food is excellent; portions are generous. They have excellent drink choices including specialty drinks and martinis. Seafood is fresh and tasty...so are beef choices. Great convenient location for casual or fine dining. Definitely a NYC favorite.

Fantastic experience

By Jeffrey W |

Unbelievable service and food. BUT-- Save room for deserts!!!! The pastry chef is a wizard. Best baked alaska I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Even if you at another Cut, the food and service here is unique!!!!

Beautiful steakhouse, in the New Four Seasons hotel in the financial district, NYC.

By Valerie F |

We went the first week the restaurant opened. It has a beautiful bar, with an excellent cocktail menu and it is very lively. The dinner was outstanding, the steaks are expensive, and delicious. The dining room is beautiful, it is a bit dark but we were told they are working on this issue. I highly recommend this restaurant for a business meeting or romantic dinner.

A Carnivore's Paradise!

By David S |

Cut is a great steakhouse and what you would expect for a New York City top restaurant. The service was excellent - the wine list incredible and the steak options were amazing. I came for a business dinner and had the Wagyu tasting - 2oz of Japanese, 4 oz of American and 4 oz of USDA Prime. To be honest, I was disappointed with the most expensive - Japanese. It was very fatty and the taste was not to my liking. Both the American steaks were better in my opinion - USA! Side dishes were excellent as was the desert. The hand-made tortellini appetizer was out of this world! This is an expensive dinner - so bring your corporate expense account!

AMAZING STEAK AND WONDERFUL SERVICE

By Antigone88 |

pleasantly surprised! I had a FABULOUS steak and the service amazing. I've already booked for next week. This restaurant is busy for a reason! Excellent quality food, comfortable dining and 100% service!

Do not go for breakfast

By Donna M |

Ok, staying at the wonderful new Fourseaons, of course you have breakfast there, what could go wrong? I ordered a la carte - two eggs poached and a side of potatoes with cipollini onions. Husband ordered two eggs over easy, bacon and hash browns. Orange juice was fresh squeezed, cappuccino was very good, nice start....too bad....mine came - two eggs, hash browns and bacon. Side plate of potatoes. So they thought I ordered potatoes with a side order of potatoes? I am a vegetarian. Why was there bacon? Husbands arrived and his eggs were well done. This is a very expensive place for breakfast. You have to be kidding me. They left my potatoes and took away my main. Then they took my husbands plate away and returned after I had finished mine. Sloppy service. Bad communication. Then to add insult to injury the bill was wrong. We got overcharged, but they did correct it when we brought it to their attention. Please please please get your act together.

Delicious and Unforgettable

Loved visiting Cut by Wolfgang Puck during a recent stay in New York. I had a gourmet burger with hand cut fries and on my second trip I had chicken dumplings, which were also perfect. Loved it.

Rating based only on meat quality

By Ssare |

There are an exhausting number of steak restaurants in NYC. If you are looking for a truly superb steak and can stomach the price, go to CUT. All of the other expected ‘family style sides’, thorough wine list, beefsteak and ceaser salads, etc are in place. But the $200+ aged Tomahawk cut is superb. And it’s in the Four Seasons where a pre-dinner martini is always a good idea.

Very good filet mignon; overall good restaurant, but not super memorable.

By heather j |

I dined at this restaurant several times for dinner with coworkers while staying at the hotel. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but nothing super memorable. The petite filet mignon was excellent and the sides were very good. I had a fantastic glass of barolo wine the first time I went, but they changed the wine menu right after that so it was no longer available by the glass. :( Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the replacement Italian wine the sommelier recommended -- a barbaresco (it was more expensive too). Also, they had a branzino on the menu, but it said it's for more than one person; I wish they had a smaller sized option suitable for one.

Extraordinary.

By FellowTraveler800981 |

One of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had (and that's after 60-plus years of restauranting!). The room is beautiful -- suitable atmosphere for either a high-end business dinner or a romantic occasion. The menu has a wide variety of options, but the emphasis is on different steaks -- ours were deleriously good. The appetizers and sides were imaginatively conceived and perfectly executed. Deep, intelligent wine list. Service was spot on -- attentive, formal yet friendly, and eager to accommodate. Prices are high, but given the NYC location and really superior quality and execution, we did not feel there was a mismatch between price and value.

Could not have been better!

By Cyndy O |

Three of us were seated at 6 p.m. for dinner. Steakhouses are not my favorite thing, especially since the petite filet has been banned from menus. But the staff did not blink an eye when my daughter and I ordered the filet to split and then ordered several sides as well. It was perfect! We actually wished we could have ordered more sides! Her appetizer, the ravioli, would rival pasta in the finest Italian restaurant; my husband's sashimi was divine. We enjoyed a lovely wine and several bites of cheese breadsticks and gougeres, and were later surprised by a large tray of assorted breads, including my husband's favorite from Sullivan Street Bakery. He raved about his steak; our filet was excellent. We passed on dessert but received a tray with three assorted small chocolate bites. Highly recommended!

A great surprise

By dianachoucair |

Nothing was programmed. We arrived on a very cold friday in NY and were staying at the Four seasons hotel and, by suggestion of the hotel, we decided to have dinner at the Cut. We had heard of it, but it was just fantastic. David, the sommelier, who answered us that night, was very nice and attentive. The wine, the food, the environment ... from the beginning to the end, everything was perfect.

They know steaks

By urgent78 |

Amazing steak here. The best we had in NY on this trip. We will come back. One thing that draws it down, is the serving of water. They never asked of we wanted more, and they Kent serving. We got a bill for 5 blottles of water we did not Ask for.... this is plain rude in my book.

Decadent, delicious, accessible

By Triciapedia |

For a recent celebration, I took my college age niece for a pre-theater meal. The service was excellent--friendly, courteous and five star. They were also incredibly attentive to our tight schedule without making us feel guilty about it! The food is f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s from the very first thing they put on the table--scrumptious mini cheese popovers to the desserts. If you're tempted by the non-meat options, skip them because the meat is worth every calorie. The sides are also fantastic, especially the kale and the fries! Will return when I have more time to enjoy the experience even further.

Good and not too noisy

Staff is kind. The chairs about the most comfortable I have ever tried, the food interesting and tasty. Meat is excellent. Brunch a nice experience! I will go back

Very good but pricey

By George S |

Had lunch recently in this restaurant which is located in the Four Seasons Hotel, a couple of blocks north of the World Trade Center. I must say, it was very good -- the service, ambience and food. The cuisine is eclectic, maybe even fusionist. I had the dumplings and my colleague had to tortelloni -- both were standard and good. Both of us also had the Chicken Katsu sandwich was very buttery and just marvelous. The service was very efficient. The prices were steep but expected -- no value play here. Overall, very good.

CUT by Wolfgang Gang Puck NYC

By Ricardo T |

Fabulous restaurant. Good environment, food and service. I stayed at the Four Seasons downtown and CUT was the best option in this part of the city. Special mention to Nusheen, who provided us great service, which much professionalism.

Awesome burger

By thetraveler44 |

As expected meal quality was very very good in the NYC CUT. One of the best burgers we ever had. Not a cheap restaurant obviously. Location is very close to Freedom Tower downtown. Service was good, but can be improved. If you are not on a budget, definitely worth planing a trip to CUT in NYC.

Great food however no respect to customer after you pay the bill

By Enio |

I went there to lunch, waiters services was great as the food. However after make the payment I went to the toilet and my card might felt from my pocket. Before exit the restaurant I realized that “I didn’t had my card with with me. I when to the front desk and asked if anyone had found it. The receptionist said yes and retrieved it from the trash handing it to me. He had throwed it in the trash with out asking or even waited for at least 5 minutes until someone come and claim it back. This is the service they provide after you pay your bill.

Delicious!!

By Hannah |

The food is awesome! We had drinks at hte bar one nigh...the bartender was shaking our cocktails away in a special dance move...like a show. It was fun to watch. The bread basket is soooo yummy. The parmesan sticks at the table were so delicious. We loved the Dover Sole. The Burrata Salad, The Cauliflower and the Mushrooms! The service was excllent and to top it off there was an awesome $70 bottle of red wine that I highly recomend. The Somalier seems to know what he is doing!

Great venue Great food

By jwmb75 |

Great venue for a relaxed business dinner. The staff went the extra mile to make sure that we all had a fantastic evening. The staff Rob/David helped make the perfect choice on the food but especially the wine. We all had a great experience with very high quality food in a wonderful surrounding.

Lovely evening in NYC

By Kate A |

We really loved everything about our experience at Cut! Table of 5 with everyone having steak of some sort & a variety of classic sides to share (onion rings, fries, spinach etc). All really enjoyed their meals. Even the breads at the start and little warm cheese breads were great! Could have just filled up on those tbh! The service was friendly and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. He recommended a really delicious white wine for me as the only non-red drinker and didn't make me feel silly for not knowing how to explain my preferences in "wine lingo"!. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and not at all pretentious. Lots of steak places to try in NYC but we'd definitely return here again.

Get a Steak - delicious

By MyTravels033 |

A group of 7 of us went for dinner. 6 got steak, 1 got seafood. 3 shared the USDA prime porterhouse, 2 shared the Creekstone Farms tomahawk chop, 1 got a filet, and 1 got the sea bass. Everybody who got steak loved it. All were cooked perfectly. The sea bass was so-so. The bread that was served was very good. The bone in bacon appetizer was excellent. Sides were very tasty, particularly the wild field mushrooms. Good wine list. Atmosphere and service were good. Upscale dining - expensive. I'd give it a 4.5 if that was an option -- because the sea bass was so-so. Look forward to returning.

Steaks are a cut above

By jhansen2014 |

Came here with business associates and enjoyed the food immensely. Was a bit pricier than it probably deserved but the service was top notch and we had a great time. Little cheesy biscuits were almost good enough to have in a meal by themselves. Dry aged sirloin was amazing and didn’t need a bit of seasoning. Also had the Wagyu beef. I’m not the swearing type but holy ****, that was amazing!

Worst bar experience ever !

By Condor1950 |

We'd been staying at the Four Seasons Downtown (in which Cut is located) for 4 nights, and opted for a cocktail in the hotel before going to a local restaurant for dinner. Two other people were seated at the bar, and we sat at a small table. I guess the time was around 18,35pm. A tall female enquired what we wanted to drink, and not being so conversant with our cocktails, we had a few questions. In asking 'what's a martini', the waitress replied 'it's alcohol' .. a most unhelpful answer. The waitress was surly, unfriendly, lacking in any charm, character or helpfulness. She said any drink was possible, so we ordered an apple martini, and a house cocktail based on gin. The bar was not busy, and 10 minutes passed. The house cocktail was made, tasted by a few members of staff, and then rejected. Another was made. The apple martini never appeared, and we were informed the bar did not have the correct ingredients for the drink. We asked for a 'regular gin & tonic' with the tonic on the side. Eventually the drinks appeared. To my shock .. the G&T was a glass of gin, and a glass of tonic. How one was meant to pour the tonic into the gin was beyond me ! Three bar staff working in a 'high end bar' with no brains how to serve a drink. CLUELESS ! A man in a suit appeared, who happened to be the 'wine director'. He took charge immediately, resalising the stupidity (some might say humour) of the bar staff. Spending $50 on cocktails, the tall female also informed us that crisps and/ or nuts were not served with the drinks. Altogether a shameful & appauling experience from incompetent staff with no empathy, interpersonal or communication skills. A senior member of staff who became aware of the problem expressed his apologies. He was a new recruit from Los Angeles, and waived the charges for the drinks. He kindly offered us a 'few sliders' to eat which we gratefully declined. Four Seasons & The Cut should never employ such lacklustre and incompetent staff.

Best Christmas and Brunch ever.

By Peter W |

Try this restaurant at Four Season hotel, for a brunch, you will be happily surprised!! Christmas Dinner the 25th was an dinner like a Noble Dinner will never forget it. Great service!

Excellent food. Indifferent service. High prices

By JJJNYC34 |

Dined at Cut recently and it was merely OK. While the food was excellent, the service was extremely inconsistent. Given the price point, they need to do a better job as there are too many other options in the neighborhood that manage to deliver a good dining experience AND excellent food. My experience may be due to the fact that they have only opened recently and I hope that they improve.

Extensive wine list

By michael |

We made a booking only a few hours before 19:30 on a Friday night. Lovely venue, reception and service. Wines from around the world but pricey. Excellent sommelier, explain your budget or check the wines your picking will work based on what your eating or what you like. We also asked for a different pairing suggestion with dessert. Recommended and excellent bottle we will try and buy to have again. Portions are big for sides. We over ordered. Lovely bread. I like rump flavour but the wife has trio of beef cuts. Sirloin, American wagyu and Japanese wagyu. We shared buy i would recommend to trying the trio if you can.

Nice place to go for a steak good ambiance , had some halal steaks on menu great night out would go again if in town , nice staff , only minus was it’s a bit dark in there

OK food, poor service

By Dana Los Angeles |

The food was ok but the service was lacking in so many ways. A foreign person at the next table was known to the servers who spent the entire meal loudly chatting with the next table instead of providing basic attention to our table. So bad was the service we made note to the manager.

Fantastic Experience

By Martin B |

This was my 2nd visit to Cut NY in the Four Seasons.Once again the food and experience was supberb. Staff were very attentive and service was first class.

Very good and nice place

By Ahmed J |

I visited CUT by Wolfgang Puck in NYC yesterday with my wife, and we had a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and stylish, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent. I ordered the omelette and the pancakes, and both dishes were delicious, with great presentation and flavor. I’m giving the restaurant 4 out of 5 stars mainly because the prices felt a bit too high for what we ordered. Other than that, it was a wonderful dining experience and a place I would consider visiting again.

Good red meat restaurant

By WSThompson |

CUT is a fairly standard upscale restaurant featuring an American diet. As the name implies, it is heavy on red meat. Some seafood is offered but very little if anything that is compatible with a plant-based diet.

The lunch of Japanese Wagyu thunder

By Foodloveralways28 |

I have been eating in this restaurant from time to time for yrs , still love the sea bass cooking , this time was trying out the Slider , still the best of best , also ordered the Japanese Wagyu because online menu showed its $25 only , not saying by oz too! By the time waiter & waitress didn’t tell u the real market price if u forgot to ask, then I got a big big bill like a thunder, I feel trap but thank god the manager more professional, realized the real conflict caused by online mean , because even the official restaurant site didn’t show anything lunch information at all ! Hope they can fix the problem afterward , otherwise will reflect the business more ! I really like this restaurant hope they can continue to do well! Tip: please please ask for the price before u order any beef, special Japanese Wagyu, avoid to have heart attack, even u well off to pay the bill, lol

Its all about the ambiance and the 4Seasons

THE GOOD * The location * The hotel * The decor * The scene THE BAD * The staff needs better uniforms - some looked great others not so great THE UGLY *Price *Selections are not consistent - My salad was wilted *No lunch menu

Family dinner

By Melanie C |

We had the four course dinner and it was lovely. It was the chef‘s choice arrangement and we were really spoiled with a variety of appetizers, lobster, dry-aged steak and a delicious bessert. The lady who served us mainly, was very attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. Urban, yet comfy chic atmosphere.

expesnive for average piece of steak

By ShariNyc_Ny |

Meat overcooked, side dishes average and very salty. Not many vegetarian options. Very expensive for the food quality.

Totally confused service

By bruce1234155019 |

Had a recent meal at Cut and found the service absent. No shortage of wait staff yet we couldn't find anyone to take our order, fill our wine glasses or check on how we enjoyed the meal. Given the choices of steakhouses in New York this is a place to avoid at all costs.

Excellent breakfast

By Missmmargie |

Unfortunately, we were only able to have breakfast at Cut.The menu is very appealing. Everything sounded delicious. I ordered a cafe mocha, & although it wasn't on the menu, they made it for me. The quality of chocolate used was outstanding. Much better than a gourmet coffee shop. Hubby had eggs benedict. It was served with fresh avocado, & tomato chutney Very complimentary.[ and amazing toast] The service was excellent. We would have liked to tried either lunch or dinner, but time just didn't permit. We did have a glass of wine in the bar. The wine list is extensive, with great choices.Wolfgang knows what he's doing!

Fabulous!

By JanieDundas |

What a wonderful dining experience! Sirloin was out of this world. Service was outstanding, especially the lovely Hostess who greeted us!

Perfect steak

By clarkkw |

Perfectly seasoned and cooked filet Lobster Mac and cheese was also great. Baked potato was just that a baked potato, I would skip the potato next time, I can do that at home. Broccoli was cooked perfectly, but again just broccoli, I think we cook better broccoli at home with butter and garlic. Staff was perfect Ambiance was what you would expect

mediocre food and nothing special

By ShariNyc_Ny |

My husband and I went dined here for dinner with some friends. Steaks were overcooked,,, mine was very dry. Service was good,,, water glasses and wine glasses were refilled often. But for the high prices, there are many other great steak places in NYC.

Rip off

By Baseballmom60763 |

We wanted to like this restaurant. We are locals, from TriBeCa, just six blocks up. My husband and I took my mother and our 12 year old daughter. Service was a 3 but food really a 1. We asked somalier for a full bodied red for under $100. She recommended, and we bought, a mediocre not full bodied red for $95. Not a good choice. First two of us ordered the crispy softshell crab-- tasted like fried nothing-- way overbattered and under seasoned. Our daughter had tuna tartare which was good and my husband had steak tartare which was mediocre. We ordered porterhouse steak for two and lobster. Both were priceless ("market price"). Both delivered cold. The lobster was okay but the steak was awful and full of grizzle. Who delivers porterhouse steak at room temperature? It should have been sizzling. Very disappointing! The price for porterhouse for 2-- $140! Brussel sprouts and cream spinach pretty good. Wolfgang Puck, you should be ashamed of yourself. Devalued brand. Don't eat here!!!

Had the burger with Nobling wine. Paired perfectly, burger was delicious. Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Definitely a must try.

First time... steep prices and needs work!!!

By msdet1529 |

We’ve been to plenty of fine steak houses across the country and in foreign countries but this place which is steps from Freedom Tower didn’t hit us the right tasteful way. Sure it’s the name but if the beef don’t cut it, then it’s not worth it. The apps of pork belly, two orders of butter lettuce salad, and the tortellini were good, nice presentation, no fat on the pork belly, small little cubes, of flavorless pork. The ladies loved the salad and the tortellini was good. For the main dish, one filet Mignon with a fried egg ordered medium rare but came out red rare. One chicken dish, she stated that it was good, not dried out had a nice taste and flavor, a bone in New York Sirloin which was nice size 20 oz medium rare and for me a 20 oz bone in rib eye ordered medium rare, came out red rare!!! Two orders had to be sent back. The plates were not hot at all, didn’t keep the food hot and when my steak came back out it was still cool to the touch. I didn’t want to complain again so I ate around the rareness and left the rest. The rib eye, I know, is not the best cut of meat but this piece had plenty of grizzle and stretch, no flavor at all, I wasn’t happy. Ok service, we had better, nice decor, under the Four Seasons Hotel. Due to the experience Sunday night we won’t be coming back!!! Sorry, we had better, it should be below average for the above ratings and high prices!!!

Excellent!

By Nitsanw |

Let me start by saying this review is for an early pre broadway show dinner experience. Most of the staff was not too friendly but this is NYC I guess. The menu is great offering many choices other than just meat. My wife had the fish and I had a rib eye. We also had Brussels sprouts and fries with truffles. The food was EXCELLENT!!!! The meat was cooked to perfection and serving the salt flakes on the side was great. Highly recommended!!

Food is amazing and creative

By rnarisetti |

We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for a business dinner and everything about it was amazing. The service is outstanding, the food is impeccably done and the bar and drinks are wonderful.

Totally Terrific

By reneer631 |

This was an outstanding dining experience. My daughter and I had visited Cut in Las Vegas and were blown away. Everything was so memorable that we could not wait to try the one in Tribeca. We were not disappointed. Service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. The cheddar biscuits were mouth watering. Bread basket was unique and tempting. Mac and cheese side dish was incredible. Dessert so amazing that despite being stuffed we managed to finish every bite. The restaurant is pricey, but so well worth it. This is a must for food lovers who appreciate elegant surroundings and outstanding service.

The best steak!

By lovemyflipflops |

We ate at CUT twice for dinner during our stay in NYC. The steak on each occasion was perfect both in flavour and how it was cooked. Top tip - order the onion rings and spinach with an egg - delicious. The service was excellent with the staff being super friendly both at the bar and during dinner. Thank you for 2 lovely evenings.

Amazing!

By Tara ✨ |

Such a great addition to downtown! Come here for dinner or drinks and experience great food and great service. Definitely a great hang out if staying downtown.

Pretentious

By chikoo108 |

I like the food here but a restaurant that is so very pretentious and unfriendly. When I got there, the sommelier at the bar was more interested in smelling and sipping wine than even saying hello. I mentioned this to the bartender and she said that everyone in New York is unfriendly. I asked to speak to the manager, but apparently he was too busy then. When people spend good money to go to restaurants, they want a good experience. That starts with a friendly staff who makes you feel at home. Needless to say we will never go back here. New York has many great dining options. I'm afraid this spot did not make the Cut.

Can't be Better!

By Eugene_NYC |

Went to the Cut for the event with the dinner included. What can I say, the place is amazing from the food, service to the actual interior design. Definitely one of the best places in NYC. Coming back for sure.

Avoid

By Javier E |

Cramped and noisy. Can't take any beverage an inch out of the bar into the Four Seasons lobby, making many hotel guest walk in, find no space, then leave. Bar had open spaces, but food from previous guest was there for over 10 minutes, making capacity issue worse. Avoid.

Breakfasts are solid

Loved the breakfasts here we tried everything on the menu. Wholesome and good portions with lovely service from the staff

Arriving at the hotel we had dinner at this hotel´s restaurant and we honestly had a very good time, both for the service and quality of the food. The steaks were exceptional and so were the side dishes and the wine. Thank you, we both enjoyed it !

Disappointing Lunch Experience

By tlbjnyc |

Possibly picked a bad day to try lunch here with friends but truly disappointed. After reading a good review in the NY Times we came to try the "Wagyu Beef and other recommended dishes, Ordering Martini's to start we received our drinks in 2/3 filled glasses, at the price charged we were a bit surprised. Moving on, three of our party ordered starter dishes as our appetizer and main dish with one order of the famed Beef. Our servers which were quite numerous hovered about and we had to ask a few times for some bread while we waited, Our appetizers and main meals arrived at the same time totaling 8 plates with additional sides and created a problem as to room on the table. At that point our many servers kept attempting to clear the table even before we were finished with the dish. ( Must say when they took a half finished Martini without asking we made a quiet fuss and received a fresh one). The food was of average quality, one diner remarked he would have rather gone to Peter Luger for a less expensive steak. Overall it was not an experience that anyone of us enjoyed and will not return.

Wow

By Susan S |

Awesome steak and high end dinners Fabulous drinks Perfect attention to detail Wonderful wine list and deserts The best steaks

Good location and service

By BEAntw |

The location, interior and the service is great. The bread and cheese bites they serve before the meal are delicious. I would have given it a 5 star if my soup would have been warmer and my sashimi salad colder.

Great Place To Celebrate

By aslamka |

My husband and I had just closed on the sale of a property and wanted to have a special celebration. The Cut was recommended to me, but my husband rejected it because he’s not a steak eater. I looked at the menu in line and found that they also serve lobster. It was right around the corner from the lawyers office, so we decided it was destiny. We arrived about 4:00, too early for dinner, so had a cocktail and glass of wine at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive, and olives “almost as big as your head.” We were seated when the dining room opened at 5:00. We continued with the wine; white for him, red for me. My husband ordered the lobster sabayon with black truffles and I ordered the ny strip. We also ordered side orders of the peewee potatoes and mushrooms. A complimentary Guyere cheese bread was served warm, followed by a bread basket and a butter cheese herb spread. Lobster was presented whole at the table and the shell removed. It was served with drawn butter and what I assume was a sabayon sauce. Shaved black truffles were a nice bonus. We both agreed it was the best we had ever eaten. My steak was served with choice of sauces. I chose steak and peppercorn. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection (medium rare). We shared the key lime pie which was perfectly sweet/tart with a remarkable crust. As I had asked to have my steak (no left over lobster) packed to go along with the side dishes. The waiter returned with s claim check so I could retrieve the left overs. I guess I don’t get out much, but I had never experience this. I think it is a very classy way to handle leftovers. Bottom line, it was a truly enjoyable experience and would recommend.

Cut It Out!

By Linda K |

My husband and I have been staying at the Four Seasons for the last few days and have had breakfast at the restaurant for the last 2. If the breakfast wasn't included, trust me we would not be eating here. The first day I ordered the waffles. They were like the Leggo my Eggo waffles but burnt. Needless to say gross. I also ordered pork sausages that were not fully cooked. Double on the grossness!!! Today I decided to go easy. I mean, can you really screw up eggs???Well guess what? You can ! I just found out! I ordered scrambled eggs that were runny! Toast that was burnt! Its a shame because the restaurant belongs to Wolfgang Puck. I guess it goes to show that it's not all in a name!!

Absolutely class from beginning to end!

Absolutely stunning venue, all food top quality, staff attentive and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Wolfgang Puck FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

By sha i |

Yesterday I had lunch with my two guest at Wolfgang Puck. The waiter presumed that I was a big spender. The waiter went above and beyond decent service. He led my guest into believing that they should order the most expensive steaks. He embarrassed me. I told the waiter to give me the lunch business man pre-fixe menu. When my guest arrived he ignored any thing I said and handed my guest a dinner menu. I had specifically given instructions to this waiter before my guest arrived but he kept on pushing expensive dishes on my guest. This place has the worst waiter service. I do not believe their reviews. These people are trained to push the dollar on you, not the good dining experience I expected. They restaurant spent my money not me .

Excellent Cooking

By Antionio10 |

Everything was top notch from the starters to the main course — the filet, fish, all good. The deserts were good too, however the Baked Alaska fell short. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is excellent.

No comfort.

By marathon235 |

Went there because my friend works at Puck's restaurant on Hawaii. I don't usually go for steak house, but Puck is from Austria and so am I, and expected Austrian 'high cuisine'. We were there on time, but dinner guests were not leaving, and so we had to wait in the adjoining 'lobby' of the hotel. The adjoining bar was too crowded. I found it unpleasant to see some of the Knicks baseball players (I guess, the hotel is were they stay) to walk around in the bar/restaurant area with their slippers on. Finally we were seated. The chairs, well they are hardly chairs in the common sense, are so short to the ground and the table has such an awkward base that the legs just can't be normally under the table. Had to sit like on a saddle. Very uncomfortable. There was a lot of hoopla with the maitre-d welcoming us, then the waiter, then another. But after this initial round it was nothing. Ordered the wine, which we had to return, because of sour note. Then the cooked food. Medium well was exactly that. No complaints. Veggies on the side, rather plain. Not decorated on the plate. Ongoing service slow with water. Echo in the room, made it so that we could hear every conversation from the neighboring tables. I was disappointed to see an Austrian chef deliver such mediocre service, uneventful food and little taste. Best part was really when we had the leftover steak next day fried up with eggs for breakfast. It finally started to be tasty.

Superb steaks and wine

By Coleman M |

Four of us enjoyed an excellent meal in this restaurant. The Korean tartare was spicy but tasty. The sommelier was quite helpful with he wine selection, so matched our meals well. Highly recommend the bone in rib eye if you are a steak afficionado. Excellent selection of desserts as well.

Good steaks

By Jose C |

Nice modern decor, juicy steaks. We were on the private room that has a glass wall to the kitchen, very good setting for a business function as it is also close to WTC.

Nice Night

By Jack C |

We had one of the first reservations and we along with a few other couples waited and waited as a meeting for staff went over. Not exactly great customer service or a good start to a 800$ meal. The food itself was excellent and our waiter was great once released from his meeting.

Good steak, drop the attitude

By WaupacaTraveller |

Stayed at the 4S hotel and ate at the LA location previously. Food is very good. Mixed drinks were very good and salad was excellent. Steaks and sides were also great. Sides are of a generous portion. Menu on the Four Seasons and W. Puck website do not match current offerings (nixed was shrimp cocktail and veal chop). We had fillets which were excellent and I recommend the mac and cheese side. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Our waiter, though, needed to drop the attitude. It's just a steak place, not the White House dining room or the Pope''s private residence hall. When we didn't order desert, he punished us by slinging attitude and the check at us. I liked this place, but my dear Hercule Perot knock-off waiter needs to remember that I could have easily ate at Mortons's, Flemings, or Ruth Chris. Wolfgang Puck is not a snob and his staff should not be as well.

A nice addition to Downtown

By Russell452014 |

Part scene, part steak house, Cut is the brain child of long time celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck and is his first in Manhattan. Food was well prepared and served, breads, gougere and grissini were all tasty, beef selections were diverse and interesting. Wine list had depth, and cocktails were generous. Service was excessively attentive for clearing purposes and yet there was an uncomfortable delay between clearing of the first course and the appearance of the entree, possibly 30 minutes. Open three months, that should not have happened.

Disappointed

By rosesnthorns88 |

Not at all what we expected given the well-respected brand for steakhouses. My petit filet mignon (which I requested to be cooked medium well) came back nearly bloody and I couldn’t even cut it with the knife (it looked chewy). I sent it back to be cooked a bit more and got back a dry piece of meat. Not exactly what you imagine when you order filet mignon from a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. The meat was pretty flavorless. Service was not impressive either. The waiter was MIA and inattentive. We were given an incorrect bill which we had to send back. I am sorely disappointed at the overall experience and will not be going back.

Lovely steak but caught out by the menu

By NyMcW |

As someone who rarely eats in high end restaurants, I was astounded to get a bill for a steak of $180, and that was excluding any sides - no chips. The menu online said $25 for the steak I chose, unfortunately that was the per oz price! Shame on you Four Seasons and Mr Cut for assuming all of your guests have money to burn. Make it much clearer on the menu. The steak and the service were amazing but spoiled by the bill at the end.

Outstanding !

A Culinary Masterpiece at CUT New York From the moment I walked through the doors of CUT New York Steakhouse, I knew I was in for an extraordinary dining experience. With its elegant ambiance, impeccable service, and tantalizing aromas, this upscale steakhouse quickly won my heart. Inside , you are greeted by a sophisticated and chic ambiance that exudes class and elegance. The dimmed lighting, plush seating, and contemporary decor create a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a memorable evening. Ivano general manager is very professional. The director , the best . Both Italians . Proud of it . From their knowledgeable recommendations to their prompt and efficient service, every aspect was executed flawlessly, making for an unforgettable dining experience. The quality and presentation of the food were truly outstanding. Starting with the chef's selection of meat , each bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more. The variety of hand-cut steaks available is impressive, cooked to perfection and accompanied by heavenly sauces and sides. Each bite was tender, juicy, and packed with mouthwatering flavors that left me speechless. Wolfgang came and made us a beautiful dinner . Thanks guys

Mediocre at best

By 12pkl |

Quite a disappointment. I was shocked at the prices (which aren't posted online - I'm now guessing it's intentional) for both the side dishes and the wines. When I commented on the markup on the wine list, I was informed that "we're less than triple, which is a bargain for this area". The steaks were average - not the quality that I'd expect from any steakhouse in NYC. Side dishes were tasty but expensive (over $20 each) and was a small portion - too small to share amongst three people. Appetizers were the same - tasty but tiny. The service was average. We had to ask to have our wine glasses refilled several times, and had to ask for more bread as well. I expect better from a restaurant that costs $600 for three people. We won't be back, and I'd advise that folks can do better right in the same neighborhood - both in terms of price and quality.

So-So

By Skip_SS |

If we go back to this Cut, I will skip the appetizers as the ones we've tried tasted like "out of the freezer". My grilled chop was a bit over-marinated but acceptable. The service staff seemed inexperienced and pushy. Finally, the martini was probably the worst that I had in a Four Seasons Hotel.

Brunch

By Intheeventof |

Stayed at the 4 Seasons, decided to be lazy and brunch on premises. Very good food, service was good, Atmosphere, hmmm OK. If staying at hotel worth a try for sure.

You can’t miss it !

This is my 4th love place in big Apple , each visit never disappointed! I tried my dinner back to Oct. 2016, very busy & crowd still not too bad, I ordered 3 course meal kind of impressive! Special love to have my lunch here , the way they made cob very exclusive, the drink always delightful, this is one of best retreat after a crazy day or month, each presentation like art, you just can’t miss it! Beautiful but just not great

By Sockster |

The restaurant is absolutely stunning! We were seated at a very nice table with one caveat: They have this purple neon light which clearly is in your eyes while seated at the table. Drinks took almost 20 minutes to arrive after ordering. We received breadsticks, gruyere, and tuna tartare as amuses..we noticed other tables received these plus two other things which was bizarre. Bread service by Caitlin was fantastic as was the bread!! Tuna tartare app was a small portion but very fresh and tasty. Beef tartare also was very small and ok, not great in our opinion. They definitely try and push the very expensive Waygu steaks...we opted for a 20oz bone in filet, which was cooked perfectly to med rare, and the bone in rib eye, which came out almost raw. When it came back, it was still very undercooked...except our waiter never came back. Half the steak was still on the plate when they took the dish away. The spinach was excellent, but the potatoes "bravas" were just fair, with absolutely no spice at all. No one really cared. The steaks were tasty, but had no crisp to the charred crust which was interesting. Maybe they were rushed out of the broiler. All in all, we had a very nice evening...but the steaks were just ok...that was disappointing for sure.

Don’t waste your time or money

By Renee M |

Will never return. Servers were terrible and spent half the time gossiping and making fun of customers among each other. Extremely unprofessional and beyond disappointed after spending good money and having high expectations. Mean girl vibes ruined any good.

Surprisingly Average

This is supposed to be consistent good restaurant but unfortunately it was a total let down. Steak was nothing service was poor.

Fabulous experience. Fantastic service provided by all. Curteous, professional, attentive and friendly. Excellent food delivered in a timely manner. Relaxed atmosphere. Would certainly recommend.

Excellent Restaurant

By Snezana |

We really enjoyed our dinner at the Cut. We took out our son who lives in NYC and we enjoyed the nice atmosphere and delicious food. We were also impressed by the service. Everything we ate was delicious - we recommend tortellini with truffles, chicken (amazing) and stakes. All sides we took were great; our favorite was coliflower carbonara. Don’t forget to top it all up with an amazing chocolate soufflé! We will be back, one of our best experiences in NYC so far. Classy and enjoyable.

Amazing Birthday Dinner

By Leah S |

From the moment we walked in the service was attentive and superb. Our wait staff was amazing and friendly. The steak was done perfectly however the swiss chard was too salty and the only complaint we had about our meal. The tortellini was a good choice and I did not regret this tasty dish. Those pretzel buns are too die for so delish ! I wanted to say "yes please" when they asked if we would like some more but declined because I would not be able to have my meal even though that would have been sufficient considering how good they were. The chocolate and "wine" bar for dessert was scrumptious and I will be returning to this spot for another special occassion.

Exquisite steak

By R S |

Absolutely the best birthday steak I have ever had. An exquisite 6 oz filet mignon, mushrooms and caramelized cauliflower. Washed down with an elderflower mocktail.

Pricey for no reason

By Nancy M |

Very unusual menu with many ingredients you will need to Google. I had the pork chop....ugh...fatty ....apple relish very good.Hard to find something to eat.....prawns are nicely plated but ordinary. We also had breakfast here...crazy prices . Muffins were good but the whole experience was over priced and we were under whelmed. If you stay at Four Seasons venture out many better restaurants close by...

Super nice place

By Raymond Abeltun |

We stopped by for lunch and that was a good experience. Four Seasons allways has great staff and so it was here. Friendly from start to finish. Staff, food, drinks and surroundings makes the premium they charge worth it.

So glad I came here for lunch. The Skate Wing fish was cooked to perfection & the portion size was great. The staff was kind & courtous. I will definitely return.

Breakfast was very good but took an hour

By CJFarnell |

A small and delicious breakfast menu with great freshly pressed juices and coffee selection. Staff were attentive but the speed of service was extremely slow. We were one couple and it took an hour. Great if you have time.

Packed and noisy

By Javier E |

Imposible to have a conversation. Cannot get a glass outside the table area into the hotel lobby, even though the bar is full and stuffy. Avoid.

Fine dining steak restaurant, great customer service!

By Claire B |

I went to Cut in Singapore last year which was fabulous, and got to go to the New York Cut last week for my 30th birthday. Its located in the Four Seasons downtown and has a cool, trendy interior. We had excellent service, the lady who waited on us was attentive, friendly and informative on all the wine and food. The steaks are on the expensive side but superb and extremely tasty. If you;re looking for a fine dining steak restaurant, this is the place to go!

Very mediocre food

By rduwaji |

Just had dinner with friends and must say the food is very average. Steak was a little tough and chicken was terrible.

Amazing service

By Asena c. |

Service was wonderful. Waiters are engaging with the guests and making sure that everything is meetings guests expectation. I have visited for lunch , ambiance and the food is really nice. I want to make a special recognition for David. I was not even hotel guest but he made my day as he celebrate my birthday. He is an amazing waiter. Thanks to him.

Worst bar experience ever ..

Not bad

By Jchow78 |

The deco was modern, yet I found it a bit less warmth and extremely dark. After a long day of meetings, steak dinner would have been a good way to end. Ordered the rib eye and mac and cheese. The rib eye is alright, but not as juicy as I would like, the mac and cheese is a bit blend. The mouthful of cheese doughs was probably the highlight of the meal and the waiters are attentive but again, appear overly polite rather than friendly.

Excellent service

By David L |

Smart restaurant in a swish hotel with service to match. Impeccable attention to detail with intuitive staff. Not the best steak I have ever had but very very good. Perhaps I expect more from a fillet or its a slightly different cut across the Atlantic but I certainly wouldn't complain it was fantastic meat well cooked Will definitely return

Consistently great experiences at Cut

By Villager |

4th visit to Cut since they opened in Oct was for my brother's birthday. We were pleased with everything we ordered from the tuna tartare, scallop crudo to our steaks including the wagyu tasting (the difference between the dry aged, American wagyu and Japanese wagyu is amazing) bone in filet, and ribeye. Sides great too including cauliflower and Brussels. Baked Alaska for dessert was delicious. The BCP was ok, just had a lot going on that didn't seem to come together. Cocktails were off the charts including my new faborite, the Locked & Loaded. Service was very good except for two occasions where we had to wait for cocktail menus for the second round, and our empty plates sat with us a bit too long. All in all can't wait to go back!

Very expensive and tricky

By JOSE MANUEL T |

A very expensive place where they will deceitfully try to sell you a 6 oz. "Australian" filet mignon for USD 120. The trick is that you ask for the USD 80 filet mignon, they ask you if you want 8 oz. or 6 oz. If you ask for the 6 oz. filet mignon, there is a hidden "Australian" filet mignon which costs USD 120 and is 6 oz. The place is dark and you won't notice it. I was offered compensation for the deception, but never received it.

Had a great time having dinner at the bar and were entertained all night long by the bartender, manager and the rest of the staff.Steak came out a liitle too rare and they bought us desert and espresso..Merry Christmas!!!

Just missed

By Allan J |

Thjis is a beautiful room. Dark paneling. High ceiling. Large tables, with ample room en between. Comfortable chairs. The menu is more expensive than the standard New York steakhouse menu, but more interesting. The appetizers were amazing-- a tuna carpaccio and an unbelievable beet salad. My wife had a wonderful sirloin cooked a perfect medium rare. I had a medium well, dry Waygu sirloin, ordered medium rare. (I don't send steak back unless it is ind=edible; after all, they killed the animal and I won't throw out the meat just becasue it isn't perfect.) The caramelized garlic topping and the red wine sauce were better than I could have imagine. We had a very enthusiastic waitress. I ordered a varietal I hadn't heard of (Cinsault). Hey, that's what I do in the best restaurants. The only stock good wine, and that's how I learn. The waitress assured me it was earthy and full-bodied. It was a wonderful wine, but fruity and light. CUUT is very expensive. Everything was perfect except the steak and my wine. But I went for a juicy steak and a big wine, but got neither.

Slightly disappointed

By Pundah17 |

We booked a table of 6 for 8.30 and was only seated at 9.20 , The usual you can have a drink in the bar , which is packed with loud music. Decor is nice. Once seated the service was excellent with only one disappointment. My partner and I decided to share the Rib Eye on bone. It was dry and had a thick sinew running right through it , inedible Of course they took it off the bill but we jut wanted a great steak. The sides were all excellent and everyone else enjoyed their steaks. Overall a bit of a disappointment.

Great breakfast place

By 1sapan |

We had waffles and french toast. Hands down best french toast I've had in my life. The service as expected was exceptional. The guests next to our table were extremely rude and weird, but the staff handled it very well. Expensive, but worth a visit.

Wonderful Austrian Restaurant

By SnakeNYC |

This restaurant has a very nice location and very good environment. Blocks from World Trade Center. Food is very delicious. Service is very good. We has fish and chicken and they both are good. There are not that many people for lunch. Great place to have a conversation. Very close to the Austrian food I had in Austria. So much details on each and every dish.

Great steaks, good variety and very tasty sides

By Karen Yuen |

Dined here for the second time since its recent opening a few months ago. Our friends highly recommended the American Wagyu sirloin, which my husband tried as part of the steak tasting entree, and he definitely liked it the most amongst the others. I wasn't in the mood for beef this time so I ordered the Hong Kong style steamed black cod (pictured below). It was very good, not outstanding. The wild mushrooms and Brussels sprouts are my favorite sides. I won't eat here without ordering them!

Weird, mediocre lunch

By PJA09 |

Made the mistake of eating lunch here before checking out of the Four Seasons. Several different people "waited" on us so I didn't have a clear understanding who our actual server was. I happened to notice while we were eating that servers and the bartender kept looking at us specifically from across the room. Within a ten minute period, we were approached about 9-10 times by three different servers asking each time if everything was ok. When I finally asked why they kept asking that question, one woman replied that it was a five star hotel and that's good customer service. I was insulted by her insinuation that I didn't know where I was or what constituted good customer service. I don't know whether she knew that I was actually a guest at the hotel or that I had just completed a two week vacation at some of the best hotels in the world, all of which were of an order of magnitude higher than the FS Downtown location. Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced and the furniture was not comfortable. Left annoyed. Will never return. Avoid.

Big disappointment

By Andrew M |

CUT in Vegas is the single best restaurant I've ever been to, so had high expectations Sent back my steak as it was well done rather than medium rare. Replacement took 30 mins and was actually medium rather than medium rare. Wouldn't normally be too fussed but given the steak was USD $68, I wanted what I ordered. This should never happen at a place like this - simple I'm still in shock that this could happen at a venue with such a strong brand and reputation The steak was ok at best, and nothing like what I had hoped for.. If you are paying well over USD $150 pp for food only, just not good enough Service was ok but overall a huge letdown. Such a shame

Expensive But Yummy

By Max D |

When I first heard they were opening The Cut, I was like That’s fantastic and what we need in NYC, another steakhouse! The shortage of NYC steakhouses is becoming a trend like shortage of traffic and Uber drivers here. The Cut makes expensive steakhouses cheap. Where I normally spend more than a hundred a person on a regular fine steakhouse expect to send more than double here. While this is the norm for a specialty Omakase Japanese meal, why not for really fine steak? The steak here is indeed fine. The pork belly appetizer was ok and did not wow me but the strip taster was phenomenal. My fave being the American Wagyu and so I will come back for second time to have just that. Is the steak that much better than elsewhere? Yes, a resounding Yesss. Is it better than even the legendary Peter Luger’s? I can’t say because it’s been a while since I was there and frankly, it’s too damn noisy there, off the beaten track, and they only take cash for me to bother to go back. I came early in the evening and bar was perfect, not too crowded. The bar area is extremely quiet than normal but I have no issues and like the decor very much. Definitely a great spot for the special occasion. Though a great usual spot for billionaires.

Delicious steaks - but pricey

By icemanck |

Restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel lacks a bit of intimacy. The room is dark and ambience a bit lacking. With that said, food was fantastic. Everything from bread, to salads, steaks and sides were world class. Prices however reflect that. Not sure I will return as there are many other alternatives in NYC and while this was good, I didn't think it was that good that I had to return.

Excellent Place For Rough Cut Menu & Drinks

By Jerry R |

Visiting Manhattan with family and friends. We decided to stop at the Cut for a nightly drink and appetizer. Great atmosphere so we decided to eat from the rough cut menu. Sliders, tuna tartare, The Cut Burger, bacon grilled cheese & pho steak. Entire meal was fabulous! Great variety of wines and friendly staff! The sommelier, Anna, offered and selected several wines for us to drink with our meal! Definitely a must visit if in town!

Fancy Dining & Superb Service

By Patrick W |

This was a great restaurant on my business trip to NY. The bar area is a little small as you wait for a table, but there is another area that opens up toward the back to also mingle. Most of my party ordered steaks. I had the NY strip and it was FANTASTIC! I am a steak snob...usually cooking my own on a grill, but this place doesn't disappoint. Yes the food is a bit pricey, but it is totally worth it. This is a rare time that the steak was cooked as asked and not overcooked. The flavor was great, and the sides are huge! Definitely a top 3 steak place I've ever eaten at.

Delicious

By Stuttgal |

Im surprised it doesnt have better reviews. The waiter was super friendly (not so much the maitre d though, which is why i took out one star) our food was great and there was plenty of it. Great location and atmosphere.

Not up to expectations

By True_Traveler |

It is very sad that a one star Michelin restaurant has such a poor service. Staff seems so inexperienced and working in complete caos. Everything from the start seemed odd. Wont even bother mentioning all the things that went wrong. Just to mention that at one point, the manager promissed to make things right at the end......he did not!!! Pitty since the food was good. Believe me, from someone that has been to over 150 Michelin Star restaurants, this is as bad as it gets.

New Year's Eve - a near disaster but saved!

By LisaMDL |

The reason this isn't 5/5 is because of the poor communication that resulted in us being quite dumbstruck for a long time after arriving in the restaurant on NYE. Our table had been booked many many months ago, by a member of our party from Australia, knowing we should be organised well in advance for NYE in Manhattan. A normal confirmation email was received at the time of booking. A week before a further confirmation email was received. It simply asked for a call or reply email to re-confirm the booking. That was done. We arrived with full intentions of ordering from the 'normal' menu. So we arrived to a room bustling with great ambience and were seated with high excitement levels for a lovely evening....and provided with the menus. As we read eagerly, anticipating this wonderful steak dinner to celebrate the end of 2018, our jaws all dropped. It was a set menu for $210 + tax + gratuity!!! We had been to The Plaza for Christmas Day lunch at a higher cost than that, so we were in no way looking for such an extravaganza a second time round! We were absolutely stunned that at no point had this special menu been pointed out to us and we told the server that. With full compliments to her, she understood our exasperation (I rather suspect we weren't the only shocked table that night!) and she handled the situation very well and worked out a way for us to order the particular dishes we wanted at a la carte prices. After 10 days in NYC we did not need the mammoth feast that a $210 menu seemed to promise. We just had a starter, a main and a couple of sides to share and heavens that was plenty. And it was all beautiful food and just the perfect steak treat. The carpaccio to start was luscious and the spinach side dish was very interestingly mixed with egg at the table side - tasty too! The sommelier certainly had an air of arrogance about her but our glasses were always diligently topped up so no complaints there! So it all ended up well (and we thank our server for so professionally helping manage our shock levels!) other than that drenching rain - but we can't blame CUT for that!!

Euphoria at Wolfgang Puck's NYC "Cut" restaurant!!

By sherry b |

I had a great experience at Wolfgang Puck's NYC "Cut" restaurant. The staff was welcoming from the minute I arrived solo for lunch. My waitress, Kasandra, was polite, helpful and engaging. The ambience is excellent. The menu was great. I started with the sliders...they were absolutely delicious! For dessert I had the chocolate with Praline and banana ice cream. To die for!!! I was in the area for business and I am so glad I spotted Wolfgang's restaurant. I definitely plan to return for lunch and dinner. The onion focaccia bread was absolutely delicious. My whole experience was wonderful! In addition, Wolfgang does not attach prefixed gratuities for lunch!! As a native New Yorker who eats out regularly (all over NYC and Westchester), I amtruly impressed, I know Wolfgang from TV but he has gained a real fan! Kudos to Wolfgang and NYC "Cut"!! Great experience!! Sherry Brown Elmsford New York

Excellent meat quality but need to improve friendliness

By mg082012 |

The food was excellent, specially the meats. The breads and sides were excellent too. For such an expensive restaurant, I would have expected a friendlier waiter captain. It is important to know when to show up and not to impose when to recite the menu. Also, not to disappear after reciting the menu when the guests were not ready. Another suggestion: at least to read the menus it should me more light. I was almost impossible to see the menu and the food in such a dark envorinment

Just another Wolfgang Puck

By TheFunFoodie |

There’s nothing really wrong with Cut. It’s just the Wolfgang hype (bla bla bla) is not met by the experience. By the price and snobbery you’d think your tastebuds were going to explode with happiness ... or something. Nope. Just very normal food.

Shocking service

By LizW-Aus |

Fabulous food but service was disgusting We were drinking nice brunello wine and had to ask for every glass of wine Glass was never refilled I thought it was maybe because we were only having main course and not big feast and hence tips less we were very much overlooked Unsure whether nationality being Australian had any bearing Would not return and having read reviews since returned to hotel I should not have gone to this restaurant in the first place -NO GOoD REVIEWS Had just st visited World trade tower observatory which was amazing and then did the 9/11 museum which as a great tribute to all involved but terribly sobering and numbing and well done to All for such a wonderful memorial But back to restaurant - terrible service When I asked to speak to manager on leaving - guess what our server was the manager So how can this be addressed when the culture is like this Avoid at all costs !!!!!!! Why do we have to tip because of poor wages to make up when service is dreadful and disgusting and poor poor poor B Very disappointed and frustrated customer because I know nothing will be done and very bad culture

The food is delicious, the service is good.

By JODI11963 |

The food here is very good. They bring you the wagyu tray to begin, and strongly encourage you to to try the smaller for about $130. I'm not a fan of Wagyu, I just don't get it. Anyhow, the regular filet mignon was quite tasty and cooked perfectly. The dover sole was also very good. Sides were great. They bring little cheese bread(not popover, not muffins) but yummy- to start. Bread basket also quite tasty. The pretzel bread was delicious. There were some dietary restrictions at our table and they were accommodated with out any hesitation, and even more suggestions. The sommelier was nice and helpful. I would definitely go back. Only negatives, coat check was weird, didn't tell us to sit and they would bring ticket. Busboys tried to clear some items off the table before we were done. Waitress we had was very good.

Consistently mediocre from service to kitchen.

By ub42 |

Was really looking forward to our steak dinner in NYC. As we stayed at the hotel, we thought it would be a good idea and convenient to just book the CUT. Walking into CUT, you walk into a different world. Where the hotel staff is so friendly and trying to please, the staff at the CUT seems to have different training. Not friendly at all and some border to the arrogant side. Especially the Sommelier, could not understand that I wanted to look at the wine menu without her input. Anyway, I was not impressed with my steak at all. The onion rings were the best part of the dinner. Having learned our lesson, we will go to Peter Luger or Wolfgang's again next time.

Worth Every Bite

By Nexus745 |

This is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York. From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy, elegant, warm, and lively all at once. It’s not one of those stiff steakhouses where you just sit in silence and cut meat. This place makes you want to stay, eat, drink, and enjoy. The food? Incredible. Obviously the steak is the star here, we went for the Tomahawk and it was remarkable: juicy, rich, cooked perfectly, and easily one of the best cuts I’ve had in the city. But CUT isn’t only about steak. The oysters were fantastic, the octopus was even better, honestly one of the highlights of the night. I’d say if you’re coming here, don’t just stick to the meat—try a mix of seafood and apps along with your steak. It’s worth it. Drinks are another big win here. The wine list is excellent, so whatever your taste, you’ll find something good. But I have to say, their cocktails are outstanding. Balanced, creative, don’t skip them. Service is what really makes CUT stand out. From the second we arrived, the team made us feel looked after. With a group, that’s not always easy, but every single request was handled immediately and with a smile. That’s rare, especially in NYC, and it makes a difference. Now, prices. This isn’t cheap, but you’re coming here for the full experience, not just a steak. If you go in ready to enjoy cocktails, a couple of appetizers, and a main like the Tomahawk, expect to spend around $200–250 per person including tip. And honestly, the staff here deserve every bit of that tip. Strongly recommend this place, if you want a steakhouse that delivers on food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Come with friends, has an excellent vibe for groups.

I have been to many of the steak houses in NYC, you can see from my review. But was very disappointed yesterday. The steak was over cooked, I didn’t send back as it creates anxiety at the table since I didn’t pick the location. But everyone should be aware the quality was also poor compared to what I get at other places. The appetizers were great, service was just ok. They really pushed the drinks so much that I had to ask them to stop asking me if I wanted another drink!! Easy to find better place for the outrageous prices.

Bad

The Restuarant was in the hotel we were staying so instead of going out we decided to stay back and try. The one in London is just a big hype hoping the one in NY will be better sadly not. The oysters were really good and then all went downhill. I ordered one of the most expensive steaks $98 it was so badly charred that I couldn’t taste the meat. The side was mashed potatoes, I actually never had a cold mashed please don’t try it not recommend. The cheesecake was not bad. Total bill three people $540 no wine.

The steaks are good, but not much else

By guybeau2016 |

We need a good steak house in Tribeca and this just misses the mark. For starters, the decor is horrible. I don't need neon lighting to enhance the dining experience. The wine list is not great. The sides are minuscule. The service is hit and miss. I will try it again because it is convenient, but they need an immediate redo.

go for the steak and more

At the Thanksgiving break, we were lucky enough to get a reservation at Cut. While luxuriant, the restaurant is large with soaring ceilings and atmospheric lighting (read, dark). Our reservation was early by NY standards, 6:30 pm, and by the time we finished, every seat was filled and the atmosphere festive. The staff was attentive in explaining menu items, including a presentation of some of the steaks offered. My husband the Food Warrior and I had the Snake River sirloin at $80 each. Just delicious and perfectly cooked at MR. The other steaks run from $40 for prime to $140 for wagyu. The 4 of us at the table shared the bone marrow appetizer because who else will cook this? It did not disappoint and was just enough to not fill us up. The sides are mostly in the $10 price range. Our creamed spinach and kale were nice choices to accompany the meats. Save room for the chocolate soufflé for dessert! We had drinks and wine by the glass which were all excellent.

Chef Raymond & pastry chef Zaireah are a superb team. Wonderful appetizers, breads, entrees and desserts. Every dish was delicious!

Best experience of new york

By Conor B |

So we went in here to for some dinner on our trip what can I say everything was outstanding. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had and honestly most other steak houses are as expensive as here so was presently surprised. The manager Steven makes the experience here thanks so much for taking such great care of us

Do you expect anything less from Wolfgang Puck?

Beautiful venue, marvelous food, attentive wait staff. Wolfgang Puck never disappoints. We were hesitant to ask for more of the cheese popovers to take home (they were that good) until we saw that the table next to us requested some more to take home as well!!

Very cool!

Crab and lobster louie was exceptional as well as the squash angellotti. The bone in Rib eye was good not great. Creamed spinach topped with fried egg was a nice touch. Service was good with a well informed soumalier. I sure this spot will improve with some time.

Great place, will be my go-to!

Wonderful experience; what would’ve been a stodgy business lunch became a fun and delicious affair! Great way to spend a Friday afternoon.

The wrong place for great steak!

By CitybreakWestcountry |

It is unforgivable that this brand has fallen so low. Increasingly the celebrity chefs are having a laugh at our expense and 'Cut' at the Four Seasons Downtown is a prime suspect. Without doubt if you are after world class steak you are at the wrong place! How this can be such a catastrophe is hard to believe in a city that prides itself on being the home of great steak. The first course is superb and the wine list outstanding but the main performance is amateur night at high cost. An embarrassment for all concerned. If the kitchen can not cook a steak properly why risk being a flagship for the brand!? Following a disappointing visit here there is no way a repeat visit will take place to 'Cut' anywhere else in the world. Sad to say 'Cut' Downtown is holed below the waterline! Expect a changes of brand before too long....

Mixed Experience

The waiter was very good and knowledgeable, extremely attentive. The menu was a bit of a disappointment. The waiter explained how they were no longer considered a steak house anymore, they wanted to include more Vegan and Vegetarian options. Yet there really were very few Vegan or Vegetarian options. Sadly, one member of our party, who doesn’t eat meat, ended up only ordering sides due to a limited menu. The waiter offered to do a pasta dish that wasn’t on the menu but she had pasta the night before and didn’t want it two nights in a row. The sides (which are extra, don’t come with the meal) were delicious. The two different cuts of steak the rest of my party ordered were okay, not outstanding. I had to send mine back because it was not cooked how I ordered. It was fairly expensive for steak, especially considering the sides were not included. However, this is not unusual for high end steak houses. The potatoes, macaroni and cheese and asparagus were so unbelievably good. The bread, which was given before the meal was also very good. The one dish we didn’t like were the large prawns. The waiter didn’t charge us, since we didn’t touch them (aside from a few bites). We skipped on dessert, although the waiter highly recommended the chocolate soufflé. It’s a nice environment, comfortable, great music, relaxing setting and very attentive and kind staff. I guess for the prices and of course the name, we expected more. Despite the many positives, we definitely would not return.

A CUT Above

A CUT above This is a beautiful high-powered steak restaurant with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from Wolfgang Puck. What makes this restaurant extra special is the staff. Everyone from the bartenders to the dining room servers to the managers made our visits so superb. CUT is inside the new Four Seasons Downtown. We ate breakfast at CUT. I loved the Eggs Benedict on the cheddar jalapeño biscuits with the maple hollandaise. I can't stop thinking about it! My husband enjoyed very much, a traditional two egg breakfast. For dinner, we dined on corn fed filet, steak tartare, hamachi sashimi, and desserts. Everything was perfect. The wine list for glasses/bottles has something for everyone and at all price ranges. We tend to drink Malbec and Cabs. I love their take on the CUT banana cream pie, and the baked Alaska was delicious as well. The bar is a visually stunning place to be with its candle-lit decor and red lights. Service was friendly, welcoming and yet very sophisticated. Our favorite cocktail was the Xiang Li, but the bartenders did a nice job with everything we ordered. Overall, this CUT/Four Seasons partnership is unstoppable.

Chef Wolfgang never disappoints!

It was an absolute pleasure of spending our last in NYC at CUT. The selection of handcrafted cocktails is fabulous, a must try is Garden of Eden. The food is out of this world, cooked to perfection, no matter what you order you will love it. Special thanks to chef Raymond and the service team, we had an amazing time and we will definitely be back on our next trip to New York.

Not just a steakhouse

By Marilyn A |

If you are downtown near 911 memorial or oculus this is an excellent choice. It is in four seasons hotel. Old friends met for lunch. Interesting appetizers and we all had fish for a main course. Ice cream was shared for dessert

Didn't fee welcomed here

By dfc9258 |

We were staying at the Four Seasons and were spoiled by the service there. This place is in the lobby of the hotel, but isn't managed by the Four Seasons. If it was the bartenders would have been friendly and accommodation, not just stand there and look at their phone and chat with one another. Considering the prices of the drinks, they should at least smile once in a while.

A stay at the Four Seasons Downtown is not complete without CUT...

By sakohn7 |

I make it a point to have a dinner at CUT every time I stay at my favorite, the Four Seasons Downtown. The staff is always very solicitous, the wine list really complete and incredibly knowledgeable sommeliers ready to help you choose the right wine for your menu selection. And the food, cooked to perfection, artfully presented and tastes to please any palette. Can’t say enough about this dining experience, try it for yourself. 😏. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Chocolate Souffle

By Rui1012 |

I like to examine my chocolate souffle on its own, without any other distractions - whipped cream, melt chocolate, vanilla ice cream. CUT was successful in delivering its chocolate souffle and the flavor was superb without the sides (although you can always use their help). Nice slightly crusted surface and extremely airy, fluffy, melting-in-your-mouth center. I went there just for the chocolate souffle so I cannot speak for the steaks. But judging from the consistency of the quality of the souffle (compared to the Beverly Hills original), I expect the other items to be good! Wine pairing with the souffle was also exceptional - I had to note down the name. Value-wise, without the wine pairing, the chocolate souffle was only $18, very good value compared to the $23 dry and stiff chocolate souffle at the Met Opera.
