We ate outside at the “outside villa” setup - it was fantastic. It was a table for two that felt private and gave an intimate feeling even as the area was open on one side. The heater was powerful - we were warm on a cold night. The service was excellent - the concierge, waiters... the food was tasty and fresh (the celery root appetizer, the pastas, the desert... delicious. Well priced as well for an upscale dining experience!

I live in NYC and dine out 3 times a week. This is my first Trip Advisor review. The good- Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I think it was his first night of work. All the service was very good. Wine glasses promptly filled, plates cleared, pacing good. Our first courses were delicious. Highly recommend the Little Gem Salad (it was heavenly) and I tasted my companion's Agnolotti with Lamb Neck, which was also delicious and filled with soft braised meat. My companion was satisfied with his Duck breast entrée, which I did not taste. The not so good - My entrée was the "Pappardelle with Venetian Duck Ragu and Shaved Foie Gras" which was $33. There was almost no meat at all in the ragu - less than one small fork full total in the entire dish, and not enough to add any flavor or texture to the dish. The foie gras was not shaved. It was grated into snow on top of the dish, which left no texture at all, and added no flavor to the dish. The dish was essentially a plate of noodles covered in a bland red sauce with no meat. Very disappointing for $33. I ate less than half. After our meal was cleared and the waiter returned to offer dessert, I mentioned my disappointment, but did not ask for anything in return. I was just offering feedback. His reaction was appropriately apologetic. The horrible - The next thing we know there is a person at our table who does not introduce herself. She launches into a lecture about what "braised ragu" means. Apparently she came to our table to educate me about how I didn't understand what I ordered and explain that it was my fault that I didn't enjoy it. I told her that I am quite familiar with the term ragu, and that while there may have been braised meat in the pot, it wasn't on my plate. She continued to argue with me. I told her I wasn't going to argue with her. She stormed away and next the chef came out. By that point, I was no longer interested in talking about the dish, and only interested in telling him that his "general manager" (we had to ask who she was) doesn't understand customer service. If she came to our table and offered a simple and sincere apology for a disappointing dinner we would have come back to this restaurant and ordered something else the next time. In fact, that was the conversation we were having before the general manager ruined our evening. I didn't need a refund or even an offer for dessert (which we would have declined). In the end, they did remove most of the pasta from the bill (but only $30 - which was strange). We tipped the waiter on the full cost of the bill including the removed pasta (unlike the general manager, we understand how to behave in restaurants). We won't be back.

Had a lovely evening with family. Server was quite knowledgeable and very helpful. Sat for a long time and did not feel rushed. Wonderful evening

Another wonderful meal at da Toscano! We enjoyed the octopus carpaccio, pappardelle, garganelli verde, dark chocolate panna cotta and various cocktails (all absolutely delicious!), but the best part of the evening was the service. Our server, Nikki, and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable evening—not just a delicious meal. We never felt rushed (a rarity in NYC), and the entire staff could not have been more gracious throughout the evening. I highly recommended da Toscano and look forward to my next visit.

I am beyond disappointed with the treatment I received at this restaurant. I had made a reservation for a special engagement dinner party on Friday night, which was confirmed with my credit card for 10:30 PM. Just 12 minutes prior to our reservation, at 10:18 PM, I received a phone call from a rude hostess, who didn’t offer a proper explanation for our cancellation and seemed more interested in her attitude than customer service. My family and I were all dressed and excited to celebrate this important moment, only to be left scrambling to find another restaurant in New York within a mere 12 minutes. No alternatives or solutions were proposed to us. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from the hostess was shocking—her tone came off as more angry millennial than anything resembling hospitality. Even more perplexing was their offer to reschedule for the next day after claiming they had an "emergency" and that the kitchen was non-operational. How could they suggest a reservation for the following day under such circumstances? This makes no sense and raises many questions. It is heartbreaking to see such a lack of consideration for customers celebrating significant moments. For anyone looking to have a special evening or simply to confirm a reservation, I urge you to stay far away from this place. They should not be trusted with your important celebrations. A one-star rating feels generous, but zero stars would still be too high for this!

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants I’ve been to. The service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding. I think Da Toscano is extremely underrated and gets lost within the other Italian restaurants in NYC- why?? I think it competes with the best of the best. I highly recommend trying it out. One of the best dishes I have had in my life was the lamb neck agnolotti. Other highlight dishes were the grilled oysters, octopus carpaccio, and focaccia. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you order here.

We had dinner here before a show. The staff was terrific.--Very friendly and helpful. I had the veal chop parmesan. It was expensive and I'm not sure it was a good value. It looked like the meat was cut off the bone and pounded flat, more like a veal cutlet. It was covered in breading and friend. Honestly not my favorite version of veal. My son had spaghetti and was very happy with his entree. We both had dessert. I didn't like my sorbet sundae. It was way too sweet. My son loved his cheesecake. I really like their Chianti--probably the best Ive ever had. It's a small place, but seemed noisy, but that seems to be true in every New York restaurant. I guess quiet isn't a virtue there.

Finding an exceptional restaurant can sometimes be difficult, even in New York City. How fortunate we were that we chose da Toscano on Minetta Lane, the former home of La Boheme. Starting with the friendly greeting by our well informed waitress Jenna, the talented chef Will, and the ever pleasant general manager Michelle, we enjoyed a meal that pleased everyone's palate. Each dish served was not only beautifully presented, but delicious in taste, served in timely fashion, and quite plentiful. I personally started with the prosciutto di Parma which was exceptionally fresh with a hint of Asian pear; my entree was the scialatelli in a light sauce with freshly shucked clams. Both were quite satisfying. The homemade desserts are also not to be missed. A few other dishes ordered are also pictured here. This is a truly affordable restaurant that you will enjoy and look forward to a return visit amongst a very friendly atmosphere.

My fiancé came back to New York and decided to check out Da Toscana after seeing a review on Tiktok! The food was amazing especially the octopus carpaccio. So much to try but it all looked amazing. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant was fabulous! The Waite staff was very kind and attended! It’s always appreciated, especially with the high prices we are paying these days! The red wine Bordeaux was divine and you can share meals which is not frowned upon! It was delicious in every way

This restaurant is great. We usually avoid Italian food restaurants because we are hard to impress. However, a friend recommended this restaurant, so we attended with my in-laws. The food was amazing. Everything we tried was astonishing. For starters we ordered Roasted Oysters, Octopus Carpaccio, and Braised Artichokes. This was enough for the five of us to open our appetite and get enthusiastic about the main dishes. We tried their pasta because the amazing staff told us that they make their own pasta. They recommended a dish that we shared, called Agnolotti that was a great surprise because it is quite uncommon to find this dish. The tortellini and the linguini are classic dishes that were really well made there. The Scialatelli and the Orecchiette were excellent. We are definitely looking forward to coming again and I actually keep on asking people that come to visit us to let me know in advance to get a table in this restaurant.

We saw this place on tiktok and wanted to give it a try and we were not disappointed! We didn't have a reservation , so we walked in and we were able to sit at the bar for full service. We started with the rosemary bread with butter - perfect app! We had tortellini and garlic stuffed chicken. I can't stop thinking about the delicious tortellini. Would definitely recommend for dinner in the village!

Perfect NYC Italian Restaurant Experience. If you're looking for that special place to have food that will make your taste buds dance. Go here. Amazing knowledgable servers. Don't pass on desserts.
