My wife booked this spot as they have a great selection of alcohol free cocktails and the food reviews were excellent. When you order bread with smoked butter and 2 weeks later you are still thinking about the bread you know the place is good. Food was excellent, and seems most of the menu is cooked over fire. We selected a number of things to share and nothing disappointed. The drinks and service were so amazing, in fact by the time we finished lunch, happy hour had started so we had one more round before heading off. I think it would be best to reserve a table as from the moment we sat down it was packed.

I organized a dinner for my colleagues, we were a big group, and we had the BEST food and BEST service I had in years. I was really not expecting that. We had an amazing time.

Food was good, We had the Arancini Balls, Calamari, Skirt Steak and the half chicken with potatoes, they were all good. The tiramisu and coconut cake were average, nothing special. The restaurant does not have a credit card chip reader which was weird, so it could not accept our international credit cards, so we had to go to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash. Nice ambiance. Staff are not that friendly.

Walked in to order a drink waiting on a few friends. Was denied service because I didn’t reserve a bar stool? This is 2023 … if you walk in a bar in Manhattan and try to order a cocktail and they say no…at 6:09 on a Tuesday , you happily walk across the street and spend money for 4 people at another lovely business that says YES. Horrible management at this place ! Will tell everyone I know to avoid this misery of existence.

Beautiful space with great cocktails! We visited with our baby on a busy afternoon and despite not having a reservation the hostess kindly found us a table. Our cocktails were fantastic however what made the experience memorable was the wonderful service we received from Nolan. He was friendly, attentive and I believe he is an asset to Dante! Thank you Nolan!

Looking for a restaurant, we were attracted by the front of Dante which was very nice. No map outside but we entered anyway. The interior is very nice, quite chic, like the reception. Apparently a lot of regulars and the atmosphere was pleasant, a little Bobo despite everything. The card can only be read on your phone (I hate that but oh well)…. We had a hard time finding something affordable. We ended up having arancini, which is just rice balls, a glass of wine and a glass of lemonade. It was very good but the price was excessive compared to what was served. With the tip, $115….

Pretty damn near perfect! Amazing service, fabulous and famous Happy Hour Martinis…. And OMG definitely get the “Sugar Snap Pea & Halloumi Salad!

Amazing brunch ! Banana bread was absolutely delicious , my friend and I still talk about it. Overall experience and food were great. A must do in the village !

My wife and I traveled to New York with a list of places to eat provided by friends who live in NY and those who traveled to NY. We visited Dante West Village and found the staff, service, food, cocktails and over all vibe to be a 10 out 10. We stayed about a week and had brunch there twice. I had Huevos Rancheros that they had recently added to the menu and while they weren't what I might call traditional Huevos Rancheros the flavor and presentation were a 10. I had the cheeseburger with the fingerling potatoes on the second visit and again was as impressed as one can be with a cheeseburger. Again, the flavor was amazing. The cocktails are hand crafted and almost too good. The service was a 10. Best brunch cafe we visited.

....and I wasn't disappointed. Everything was excellent: the place is beautiful and lively; the staff attentive and good natured; the food and drink excellent; the kitchen a thrill to observe! It was a very lovely evening.

Dante - the most famous for its cocktails - serves amazing food as well. We visit frequently, with family, with friends, with clients (TravelDad.World) and enjoy both the food and cocktails. We love that the hostess is wonderful and always tries to accommodate us. (Beware - it is not easy to get a table without a reservation or a long wait - thus, hostess willingness to find a solution is highly appreciated!) The cocktails are of course a personal taste, but we love seasonal selection as well as fluffy margarita, dirty martini, and Negroni selections. Food - oh la la, roasted cauliflower, their burrata salad, gazpacho - to die for. Menu items change seasonally, but these have been on the menu for a while - for a reason. Whether it's a small bites, snack, or a full meal, pair them with cocktails - and life will already look better!

Loved this iconic spot in NYC West Village. It's really best for martinis and people watching but the burgers are delicious too. Since it's tough to get a reservation, sit at the bar bc the bartender puts on a show.

We loved the old space and it sat empty for a few years until Dante opened (long time patrons of the original Dante). The bar is always lively, a cute ambiance, and it’s one of the only places in the west village with outdoor seating AND $10 martinis on happy hour (but, again, not too fast service).

Went in for a couple of drinks on Sunday night & we were impressed by the lovely surroundings, cool music & most of all, the hospitality from the team who worked there. We found in a lot of bars in New York, team members expect tips but don’t really earn them, however, this wasn’t the case at Dante. They were chatty, smartly presented, friendly & made preparing fab cocktails look easy! You’ve gotta go!

Me and my wife went there for lunch (12.30 pm) on New years eve. We ordered a hamburger and a steak, both medium rare. A party of 5 came and sat at the table next to us after we placed our order, however they got their food and had almost finished before we got ours after 45 min. My burger was dry and overcooked and my wife's steak was raw. We noticed the waiter about it, but we didn't want to risk waiting another 45 min for a new. The waiter compensated us with a free burger, but this experience was not what we came for. Sig & wife, Norway

Superb bar with great vibe and serves a beautiful martini. The food looks good though I only had time for a drink at the bar (with thanks to the hostess who found me a seat!).

We came for brunch on a Saturday. And it was really good. We got the harvest bowl and avocado toast. The harvest bowl was really good, light, and healthy. The avocado toast was standard. Service was pretty good.

We go to NYC once a year - have done for 20 plus years now. If I could only go to one restaurant / cafe it would probably be Dante. This is my idea of a really good restaurant. It's in a great area - West Village at its best. The food is fabulous. Fairly simple compared to some places - or appears to be - but it is expertly done. Never had a bad meal there. And the service is genuinely warm. They remember, for instance, how I like my tea, how I like my steak cooked. Even gave us a free drink last time we went as they recognised us from having been there earlier in the week. The drinks are also great - the cocktails and the wine. It's equally good for breakfast and dinner. Just a really warm, friendly restaurant with a local feel.

Popped over with my bestie for late night cocktails at the bar… ordered one of almost everything. Attentive staff and decent cocktails albeit the vibe does feel a little touristy

We have been to the original Dante's multiple times and wanted to try their West Village location. It was a huge hit. We were seated outside (which was great since there were several large and loud groups inside). The wait staff was able to get our overhead heater turned on which took the edge off a brisk and windy night. Drinks were phenomenal, and our meals (skirt steak, chicken and pork chop) were all perfectly prepared. The side dishes were quite large and we could have shared 1 for four people instead of just two people. The service staff was just outstanding and we had a lovely evening out with friends.

Meeting my niece for a catchup coffee/tea chat and we randomly selected Dante West Village since it was open and had inside seating on a cold, raw April day. We were seated immediately and only ordered a latte and black tea, but were treated like we had ordered a 3 course meal. Excellent service. Lovely ambiance. The tea was served in its own tea pot and a fine china tea cup and saucer. I loved it! We chattered for quite a while and though the place started to fill up with the lunch crowd, we were not at all pressured to "wrap it up". Just a delightful experience! Next time, we will have to plan for a lunch or dinner!

Great drinks and atmosphere (maybe a little loud). Food was fantastic (order the chicken) and the drinks were delicious too. Very busy and filled with beautiful people (present company excluded). Go here for a fun night.

Dante’s signature burger is delicious. Service is very good - there is a lot of staff. It’s a VERY busy restaurant so make a reservation if you want to go. Located in the West Village which is a nice area to walk around before or after your meal.

Beautiful and well-kept place, located in the heart of the West Village. High quality food, great service. Cocktails to try. In general, you breathe a great atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

We visited for brunch on our first trip to New York . Dante is in the West Village a lovely area to explore. The staff here were friendly and welcoming and the food was really delicious. Loved the decor and attention to detail. I had the best pain au chocolate ever and that includes France . Would love to return for dinner on our next visit to this amazing city .

We go to NYC at least once a year and have done since the 90s. This is our favourite bar / restaurant / cafe (it's really all 3). The best restaurant (/bar / cafe) I have been to anywhere. Food, service, atmosphere. West Village is the best part of NYC in my view and this is the best part of West Village.

This place was fun and our Waiter, David was incredible! Thank you for my birthday treat! Atmosphere also great and food fantastic.

Great vibe, food and drinks. Went for a brunch and the experience was awesome. Product driven, not much focus on food presentation but the quality was one of the best .. not sure how they deliver this from such a small kitchen. Will go back again

Fantastic bar/restaurant. So nice to look at, authentic and unique interior. The Food is phenomenal, so good. We had the most wonderful night here. Service excellent. Try the negronis, they are the fantastic.

This place is awesome, I plan on going back on my next trip to NYC. It was my first time in NY. My son took me to a Yankees game . We had cocktails here and a light snack. Love this place!

Following SJP to her local west village cocktail bar we researched happy hour between 3 and 5 for $10 Martini’s. What a find this place was. It was buzzing and with a piano player accompanied singer we spent a few hours enjoying the signature cocktails. We sat at the bar as we didn’t have a booking and only had to wait 10 minutes outside in the sun Great staff and a great bar

Just came by for a drink, which many people in the outdoor eating area were having. An Espresso Martini. Service is excellent, atmosphere is great, local, business, romantic, tourists. Drinks are very special and very expensive also.
Great place to eat
We went here for lunch. A line had already formed outside at 11:45, they open at noon. My pasta was very tasty and unique. Tasty cocktails too. Really nice ambiance. Great service by Dennis.
