Excellent Steaks & Atmosphere

By Rebecca |

If you want an incredible steak in a large, architecturally pleasing space, this is it. Beautiful views of 6th Ave. After a purchase on jewelers row, this is the place to celebrate/kill the pain. Have a pineapple martini.

The best food experience in midtown Manhattan!

By Rhonda A |

8 of my friends went to dinner to celebrate my birthday and what a wonderful experience! The very best rib eye, sides and cocktails! I can not tell you enough how delicious the food was❤️ The service was exemplary, shout out to Shawn! I recommend this Restaraunt 100000%

Amazing service and delicious food!

By Amy M |

Absolutely amazing. Alejandro was our waiter and the service was some of the best we’ve ever experienced. We were celebrating in the city and can’t wait to come back and enjoy this restaurant again!

Highly recommended

By LifeofGa8 |

Truly high-class location in the center of Manhattan, with large spaces inside and windows that allow you to admire the view and the surrounding skyscrapers. High level food and wine, both meat (the fillet was exceptional) and fish based. Helpful and courteous staff.

Sadly not as perfect as previous visits. Food was amazing but service was very poor. Upset as recommended to our friends

By sara C |

Not what I expected on my 5 visit. Food was amazing. Steak cooked to perfection but very poor service. So upsetting for friends

Excellent Experience and Dinner

By CincyTravele1981 |

We celebrated our daughter’s 10th birthday at Del Frescos’ Double Eagle. We could not have had a better experience. The food was amazing as expected, but more importantly the restaurant team went out of their way to make our daughter feel special for her birthday. She felt so special all night. Thanks to all who were involved.

Good but expensive

By Monica B |

Our concierge suggested this restaurant for our first night, good food and service but still really expensive, when you have to add all the sides.

Amazing NYC Steakhouse

By Kevin394 |

Absolutely amazing! One of the best steaks we ever had! Our server Chris was top notch. Always checking on us. Food was perfect and celebrated our daughter's birthday. Highly recommend!

THEY CARE ABOUT YOU!

By sbp0713 |

Staff is excellent and maybe the world’s best French fries. My aged steak was cooked to perfection. My Zinfandel wine was not so great and they insisted on making that right!!

Pay attention to your clothing to be able to enter! A security guard is lying in wait!

By Sylvie R |

We had reserved a table in this restaurant but did not expect to be turned away by the guard at the entrance because we were wearing training stockings. When booking, we knew it was a high-class restaurant - so it's our fault. But hey, we felt a little rejected and fortunately we found another restaurant nearby with good meat which accepted us even without a reservation.

Lackluster

By brendan c |

Drove two hours to Harrison and a 45 minute train to get the del friscos double eagle steak house. While the ambiance was nice and service was friendly, I ordered a medium rare filet that came out medium well with no wall to wall color. Grey banding surrounding the top and bottom areas of the steak. I brought the temperature of the steak to my servers attention and he said they would remake a new one. Everyone finished their food before I could get my steak which then came out Pittsburg rare. Cold and red in the center. I did not even get to eat the steak I drove all the way there for. Very disappointing way to end such an expensive meal. Not what was expected from such a highly rated steakhouse. Use a meat thermometer!

Christmas dining with family - great steak

By Gillster40 |

First. Christmas in New York with family, been to Del Friscos DE several times, previous visit was early Dec 2021 and this experience was much better. Food was amazing and service was great, even with a slight hiccup with our order it was quickly rectified. Restaurant was extremely busy so if you intend to go at Christmas make sure you book well in advance!

Solid old school steak experience

By Mike J |

It’s expensive, as expected, but the service is good and the atmosphere is nice. My steak was tough which was disappointing.

T-Day dinner with family.

By Tony J B |

The ambiance is excellence and most comfortable. Our server, Dennis was professional, kind and knowledgable. The attention to bussing our table was lacking for upscale service expected. We shared tie 32 oz. Prime NY Strip. Came out rare when ordered medium so we had it back on the grill for a few minutes. The strip was excessively fatty and grisly. That’s was a downer. The lobster Mac & Cheese was also a disappointment. The lobster was way overcooked, to the point of being crunchy. With so many excellent steakhouses in the city, not likely to return again. Dinner for three with one glass of champagne was $490.

That’s a Steak

After a terrible experience at Keens the night before . We were told by a wonderful gentleman Rodney at the NBC Building to try this place . Well he was bang on thank you sir . From the get go entering the restaurant they were all a class act dining experience . Sean our waiter was right on with his recommendation what to have and making sure the food was to our liking . The regional manager for the east coast came over and introduce himself how was our dinning experience so far along with the wonderful as well as some of the managers. Well worth the price Thank you team we will be back

Way over priced

By Zman180 |

We had a party of six for my birthday,we had high expectations going in but we’re somewhat disappointed. We ordered cocktails and they were all really well made and a couple of appetizers which also were good. 2 of our party ordered the filet one of which was over cooked.1 ordered the salmon and it was just ok and 1 ordered the scollops and at $62 dollars was a joke.My wife and I ordered the 16oz Ribeye and it was cooked medium but was tough. We ordered 3 sides the Brussels sprouts,Mushrooms and the scalloped potatoes, which were the worst of the bunch. We had a bottle of wine and coffee and dessert and the final bill was $650 which to me was about $300:overpriced for the quality of the food. We had really looked forward to eating here but there are a ton of better steakhouses on the strip that we will try next time.

Tell them not to spice your steak.

By Paul C |

We went here for the first time last night before the Barry Manilow concert at Radio City. The ambiance is very nice. We were taken to our table promptly. Our server Alejandro was pleasant and intelligent and asked if we were going to the concert. When we told him yes he said he’d make sure we’d get there on time. We ordered our food. I went with a traditional Caesar salad which was average. My wife had some special salad which was very good and large. She ordered lobster tail which comes in many different sizes, perfect for her. She got a small one. I ordered a 16 ounce 45 day aged ribeye. It came out cooked medium rare as ordered. I tasted it and it was totally covered with pepper. I don’t like pepper and it’s a terrible way to ruin a beautiful piece of meat. A steak should be cooked with salt. If they’re going to heavily spice it they should tell you so you can tell them not to . I called our server to tell him my problem with the steak. He immediately took it and said he’d have it replaced quickly. The new steak arrived quickly and was not spiced. This is a very good steakhouse. New York City has many great steakhouses and this isn’t one.

Cannot believe I have a negative review of my favorite restaurant. This was beyond unacceptable

December 7, 2024 @ 7:00 Contact me for Reservation name For six years, my family and friends have enjoyed an annual Christmas dinner at Del Frisco's Double Eagle. Our party usually consists of 6 to 8 people. We booked the event months in advance and had never experienced any issues with the reservation or the evening—until our latest visit on December 7 at 7:00 PM. We were promptly seated, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of the evening. To get straight to the point, I will skip the usual experience and focus on what we encountered this time. Immediately after being seated, our waiter informed us that there were "no specials," which was very odd and not at all typical for this restaurant. After that, we placed our drink orders, followed by the bread. However, when the drinks arrived, one drink was missing, which was disappointing and took forever to be served. The appetizers took an unusually long time to arrive. Again, there were no specials mentioned. We felt rushed to complete our order, and there was a noticeable lack of attention to detail that we usually expect. When the appetizers finally came, the Oysters Rockefeller were cold to the touch. We had to ask for water, which never arrived, so a member of our party had to get up and fetch the water pitcher. By this point, we were beyond annoyed with the lack of attention and promptness from our waiter. The entrees were served quickly, but we saw the waiter only much later. The only saving grace was that the food was cooked very well. We had to request the dessert menu, which came fairly quickly. At this stage, we were ready to leave and asked for the check. One check was presented with two credit cards and the rest in cash. We specified an amount to be charged to the credit cards that included an 18% tip, which we considered generous given the subpar service. When the check was returned, it was signed by the two credit card holders. However, as we were leaving, the waiter stopped our party and claimed that the bill was incorrect and that we owed an additional $800. That's when things became challenging. We requested to see the original bill but only received a cut-off piece of the receipt. We then asked to speak with the manager. The manager acknowledged that the situation was unacceptable. The waiter then claimed the bill was only $400 more and eventually said it was just $300 more. The manager offered to remove the appetizers, which brought the bill down to $50, even though we had ordered at least $200 worth of appetizers. We agreed to pay an additional $300 just to resolve the situation and leave the restaurant, but we will not be returning to this establishment again. Waiter's Name is Amin Managers name is Alex

Mediocre, Overpriced

By styleonthego |

Mediocre and overpriced, strictly for tourists and the expense account. Nothing here was memorable. Service average. Prices outrageous.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

By J H |

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Where do I start…So my husband takes me to Del Frisco’s, tonight, for my birthday. My first time here. We are seated at 8:08pm, and about 7 minutes go by, and our waiter, who is passing by us with some dishes to take to the kitchen, stops and backs up to our table to let us know he will be our server, and asks if we’d like drinks. We asked for ice water, for starters, and my husband orders an old fashion. He tells us he’ll get our waters, the drink, and some fresh bread. From this point on, it progressively went down hill! He comes back to the table, 2 minutes later, and asked what drink my husband ordered, because he couldn’t remember. My husband told him, and he walks away. It took 25 minutes for the water, and 40 minutes for the bread!!!!! Meanwhile, we watched this man cater to 2 other tables, as if we did not exist! When I say we were treated like an afterthought, I truly mean we were treated as if we were dining there on a buddy pass!!! We watched other customers walk in and get seated, get their water, bread and appetizers, before us. He finally sees the disgust on my face and goes and gets the water. He brings the water and apologizes for the wait on the bread, and tells us the oven is broke. The whole time, WE SEE BREAD BEING TAKEN TO OTHER TABLES!!! It was so bad, I asked another server if he could get the manager. This man looked at me as if he was offended, and repeated the word manager, almost as if in disgust. I said “Yes, the Manager”. Would you believe this man walked away, NEVER got a manager, and continued waiting on his tables, as if we didn’t exist! We finally get our bread, as I mentioned, 40 minutes from the time we sat down. At this point, I am beyond annoyed, frustrated, and disgusted. As we watch him provide the A-1 service to the tables around us, taking pictures for people, bringing folks desert, etc. He finally comes back to take our order, and we continue the long wait to eat. Just a horrible experience, for $255!

Tomahawks!!

Great location, food quality DELICIOUS. The old fashions one of their finest I’ve had in a long time. Waiter great with high knowledge of the menu.

Earns every star and then some

Amanda is absolutely fantastic and the dinner is always great. Recommend for any event. I have never had a bad steak and some of the appetizers are meals to themselves.

It’s Cheesecake Factory trying to be high end

By Barb R |

This place is a JOKE it’s the Cheesecake Factory wanna be high end. Walked in with my son who was in a Gucci tracksuit and sneaks no problem. He goes outside to look for his dad and then the wanna be bouncers don’t let him in because he’s in a “tracksuit “ meanwhile all these little kids in leggings and puffer jackets from Walmart walking in with no problem. I will never ever try to eat here or support this joke of a chain.

Always s top for us while in NYC

By Cindy L |

I hate to sound like a broken record, but we always have a wonderful experience at here. The food, drinks and or course, the desserts were wonderful. And our server was EXCELLENT!

10/10

By mimirubin |

Wow! What a great evening! We’re “sharers,”’and our server,Artis, was just fabulous! Our cocktails were amazing; house Cabernet top notch! Steak was cooked to order and simply yummy! You MUST order the truffle baked potato along side your steak! We’re locals and we’ll certainly be back! Top notch, food and service. Ask to be seated upstairs.

Excellent food and service

By Gary B |

This was a repeat visit to Del Frisco's. The steaks were prepared spot on. Salads were excellent, and our server, Sean, was terrific and very attentive. All entrees were served hot, well prepared, and portion size was fantastic. Our only bleep was the au gratin potatoes, which we felt missed the mark. We will definitely return and ask for Sean again.

Horrible experience

By Al E |

I recently visited Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse expecting the refined service and welcoming atmosphere that your reputation suggests. Instead, I encountered an experience so unique that it deserves to be documented—if only to serve as a case study in how not to manage a restaurant floor. The manager on duty—Amelia, a tall, notably heavy-set man—seems to have embraced the role of “watchdog” with such theatrical zeal that I almost mistook the evening for an immersive dinner performance. His ability to glide past tables of white patrons with a smile, while instantly narrowing his gaze on anyone with darker skin or a foreign accent, was nothing short of remarkable. It takes real talent to display such selective attentiveness. That is precisely why individuals like this should never be entrusted with any measure of authority—it goes to their head like a strong drink. Frankly, I suspect he has rarely known kindness or a good day in his life, yet the bottom line remains: he has earned every bit of the treatment he receives. Avoid this restaurant.

This isn't the place for you if you don't like magnificent service or spectacular food

By Monique H |

Dining at Del Frisco's in New York is truly an unforgettable experience. We were immediately welcomed by the delightful hostess, Aynsley, who's friendly demeanor made a great first impression. Our waitress, Vinakay, was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and attentive. She made the perfect beverage and dining selections with the utmost professionalism and grace. The food was exquisite! We devoured the savory meatballs and fresh sushi roll before trying the mouth watering bone-in ribeye and seabass. The lobster mac and cheese was sheer proof a devine power exists as it was truly heavenly. No dinner would be complete without dessert, so naturally we indulged. The tiramasu creme brulee was splendid and satiated our sweet tooth with it's creamy eloquence. I felt compelled to share our experience with the manager, Caesar, who exudes sophistication and a ferverous enthusiasm to providing quality service. To say that I was impressed is an underestimate. I will absolutely return and will sing their praises to anyone looking for a memorable, fine dining location.

Excellent meal and service

By WBJM2009 |

We loved our experience at Del Frisco’s!! Our family of 6 loved the atmosphere (it was already decorated for Christmas during Thanksgiving week) and everything we ordered. Steaks, crab cakes and sides were absolutely delicious! It is pricey but definitely worth it! Will definitely return!!

Cockroach

By jhonny m |

Yesterday I went to dinner with my dad at this restaurant and we were surprised by the fact that the food was very good but at the end of the dinner a small cockroach appeared on the table

Wonderful

By Sis |

Wonderful service and delicious food. Convenient midtown location. We walked from our hotel and were greeted and seated right away. Our waiter was attentive. Our dinners arrived in a timely manner and were hot and delicious. The rolls were “to die for” - so light, fluffy and buttery. An overall great experience!

Super steak

By Tom T |

The steak and the service were first class, as you might expect, but (and I'm sorry for the levels of pretentiousness on this one) the octopus starter was overcooked and rubbery. Didn't detract from a fantastic meal, it was just disappointing when you don't see it on menu's too often. Great views of the city and would recommend.

Great service and better meal. Was well worth it.

By Naples Nomad |

Came here to have a great steak dinner and it didn't disappoint. We were torn on Smith & Wollensky, Peter Lugar or one of the other steak houses and ended up with reservations here. Service was very good (thank's Josh you were great) and food was excellent (except the Brussel Sprouts). We went with a prime filet mignon and a 45 day dry aged prime ribeye, side of fries, side of twice baked potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. For the appetizer, we went with the jumbo bacon strip. The bacon was very good, but almost a little bit too much/too thick. Think of a boneless pork rib and that was about what you were getting. Again, was good, just too much. Steak were cooked to perfection, incredible tasting, and did not disappoint. Truffled twice baked were incredible and probably the best thing we ate. If I wasn't staying in a hotel, I would have taken every crumb of these back with me, they were that good. The one thing we did not enjoy were the Brussel sprouts. We both agreed something was lacking in them and they definitely weren't cooked enough. We are wishing we went with asparagus or something else. One disappoint for us was we heard everyone tell us about the amazing bread they bring out. Our waiter told us about it and that it was in the oven, but never brought any out. So, looks like we will have to go back to try the bread. In total, the bill came out to $258.00 before tip (we do not drink alcohol, this was a bottle of Panna water and an iced tea for drinks) which did not include dessert or coffee. With that, likely looking at $300 for a couple without alcohol. Still was on par with most high end restaurants and for what we got, was definitely worth it. If you want to try here and not pay the dinner prices, consider the burger and fries. I saw someone at the bar get this and it looked incredible. One thing I did have issue with though, is this is a high end steak house and I was hoping they had some sort of dress code that included jackets for men. Unfortunately, they do not and people were in jeans, some in slacks no jacket, and at the bar area, pretty much anything goes. It was disappointing. I know a lot of other high end restaurants will insist on a strict dress code but I also get this is in a touristy area. I would come back to eat here again and have to, to try the bread. Was well worth it.

Amazing!

Best bone in ribeye in the world! Very very good service and food. Will return as soon as possible for dinner or for lunch again

Classic and good

Good service, welcome, good meat, good experience. Large wine list (thanks to the reco of wine spectators) but overpriced Award with amazing margin coef. Overall wine is very expensive on tables in the US. A little noisy place

Christmas NYC visit

Very cramped, no lobster fork and cold food. Couldn’t complain because it was too busy. Steak was cooked very well just too cold. Unfortunate. Sorry for a bad review but you need to know where you are going wrong.

Fantastic place unfortunately ruined by Arrogant and rude waiters, who offer a bad service, only positive note the sommelier really helpful and nice person. Learn to treat Customers even if they are tourists

Not worth the wait!

By Linda Sheehan |

We made reservations for our anniversary. We had never been before, and will never go again. As I said, we made reservations, but we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The noise level is off the charts, and we had to raise our voices to converse (so romantic) . Once seated, no server made an appearance. After 25 minutes, I flagged down another server to place a drink order. She was wonderful & I wish I had gotten her name. Our actual server, Amelia, showed up with the drinks ten minutes later with no apology. My husband and I both ordered the filet. It was coated with such a heavy layer of pepper that it was inedible. Luckily, I had ordered the cream spinach on the side which was quite tasty. As I said, we won't be back.

Excellent cuisine

By Thoml75 |

This restaurant located in the heart of Manhattan has an elegant setting, professional service and above all excellent cuisine such as beef or delicious crab cakes. A delight !

Amazing !!!

By Liz S |

This was the best fillet steak I’ve ever had. The bread that you get at the start is amazing. The mac and cheese so nice. Could not fault anything. Josh our server was great and very friendly. I would definitely go back. The restaurant is in a great location we had a window seat. Definitely worth 5 stars

Relaxed time

Very nice open air experience for the whole family in the warm season. Highly recommended in combination with a walk through the park

Good location, Ok Steaks

By ibcsc7 |

We were looking for a local NY steakhouse, but most of the better ones have the dark club feel that our group did not want. So we settled on this high end chain as the location and dinning room fit what we were looking for - nice and bright, easy location. The service was fast and friendly. The apps (shrimp, crab cakes, salad) were all very good. The sides (corn, mash, greens) were also very good. The drinks/wine selection were good. The steaks, were not the best, but OK for this level of restaurant. Not sure if you want just OK for $100 per person. The overall experience was fine, but you would hope for a steakhouse, the steak would be the best thing.

Dress Code Problems

By BunnyGirl1957 |

We had a lovely dinner. The bread was excellent, as were our appetizers (word of warning - the appetizers were huge and by the time we got our dinner, I wasn't all that hungry!). Our steaks were absolutely delicious, as was the butter cake. I did have one problem, though. This was my first visit to this restaurant. When I made the reservation, I was warned about the dress code. When I received my confirmation, it mentioned the dress code. Then, I received a call to remind me of the dress code. My party was dressed appropriately (as we would have been with or without their reminders.) However, people were definitely NOT following the code, and all around us were people in grungy t-shirts and very casual summer wear. I'm not stuffy - I happily wear casual clothes most of the time. However, after being reminded three separate times about how I should be dressed, I would expect that the restaurant would make sure that people followed the rules. I was really surprised that they were so casual about it. Service was friendly if not particularly fast.

Soooo disappointing!!!

By Denise P |

Visited this restaurant with my husband in December as we went to for a short stay in New York to see the Christmas tree. We have been to many steakhouses but I can not tell you how disappointed we were with this restaurant. The service was terrible and the food was not much better. I ordered a drink after having one at the bar and asked the server to have the same bartender make the drink because it was so good and got something that was nothing like the one I ordered at the bar. Then my husband and I ordered some appetizers and within 5 minutes of getting the appetizers they brought our steak out. We ordered a Porterhouse steak for two and asked for Medium and it was rare, so much so that I could not even eat it. The server did not come back once to see how everything was and see how the steak was. Sooo disappointing! Not sure if it was because of all the tourist in the area during the holidays but I would not go back again.

Only okay

By Lynnie1313 |

Large, noisy with just ok food. Service was good, but big tourist trap - not surprising considering location - but so many better steakhouses in NY. Wouldn't go again.

Excellent and elegant steakhouse

By Nath06 |

Restaurant very well located on 6th Avenue, with very chic decoration, neat lighting, quite toned atmosphere, plenty of space, friendly waiters and high quality food. Probably one of the best House steaks in town with quality cooking and meat heat. Secondary small flat: cheesecake is not great. Great value for money for New York

Very food experience !

By Mary K |

μόλις τώρα Νέα Loved the atmosphere and the food! Amazing , huge wine list and great food options. The ribeye we ordered was cooked to perfection. Although the staff is experienced and kind, the only thing we didn’t like is that we felt some pressure by one staff member to order more food and more expensive bottle.

Wonderful experience!

By Cindy L |

We were in town for a long weekend and Del Frisco's is always a stop. Food, drinks, service was wonderful as usual. This time I made sure I had the butter cake that is on their dessert menu - absolute heaven!

Accommodating and Excellent!

By Aussiejack1 |

We booked an early dinner here before heading to an 8.00pm show. We were running a little bit late and unfortunately did not have time to return to our hotel to change and freshen up. This was absolutely no problem for the restaurant. They accommodated us and were very aware of our tight schedule. Our server was highly trained and efficient and personable enough to make us feel very comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing. We shared a large porterhouse steak ? and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best steaks Ive had and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were wonderful as well. The scallop potatoes were perfect! I just wish i had had more time to savour the food and ambience. I will definitely be returning to Don Frisco's!

Always brilliant

Two wonderful nights at Del Friscos on our last visit to New York. We came with our children this time and they were so well looked after. We had a great time, service is always faultless and the food and cocktails were excellent. Thanks to Gerard, Tim and Eric for more great memories

Bring your own bread!

By Robert |

OH no! What happened to my favorite steakhouse???? Sure the steak was good, the crabcake and dynamite shrimp appetizers were great and the veggies were OK, but at this price point, it is the attention to details that matters. Here is a QUOTE from their website: "Del Frisco's enforces a strict upscale dress code. We do not allow beachwear, gym attire including sweatpants, sweatshirts or hoodies. Athletic apparel, jerseys, hats, beanies, bandanas, ball caps, oversized or baggy clothing, tank tops, and sleeveless shirts are prohibited." Well, I call BS to that. We go there for an elegant night out and there are a bunch of college kids in sweats running around. I asked for the manager, whose name I have forgotten, and she was very nice and professional about it, saying pretty much, it was out of her hands, that it was a famous college basketball team. I DON'T CARE! I'm not impressed. I probably would have let it go, but later, her assistant, Emilio, came over, uninvited, solely to make a smart-a** comment. They might want to send him back to hospitality school, but i suspect he dropped out anyway. To the coach, I say, do you remember the Dallas Cowboy's Coach, Tom Landry? He told his young men, you will command respect on AND OFF the field, and when their bus pulled into town, every player stepped off in jacket and tie. Given that 99% of the college players won't make the pros, what a lost opportunity for a life lesson, "I'm taking you out, throw on collared shirt and a jacket." Another issue, minor, if not indicative of horrible management, was last Friday, at about 8pm, THEY RAN OUT OF BREAD! Seriously, how difficult is that, or rather how bad is the planning? The place was full but, as far as I could tell there wasn't more than one person per chair. (Ha, if you are not from NY, that is sarcasm.) In other words, you know how much bread you need before the night starts. If you run out of Dover Sole at 10pm, that's one thing, but BREAD??? LOTS of other great choices in NYC.

High-end steak house in the heart of touristic Manhattan

By Cla13bdAD |

The place is really beautiful, high ceiling, natural light, and space. Great place of a good quality meat, with a great choice of wines (not all overly expensive, but some are). Professional service and high prices (but no one would expects anything different, if you enter, you know that, given where we are).

More Show than Go

By Felix P |

I am a person who has been to every major steakhouse in NYC. Keens, Lugers, The Palm, Smith/Wollensky, and I was very excited to try this place. I should have thought twice. This is a chain, and in Midtown NYC no less, but be that as it may, it was marginal at best. The worst table for 5 of us in the back, upstairs. Salads never came, and in retrospect, I felt as if the staff was SO overwhelmed that they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The food? I suppose it was ok but for me, and this is just me-it doesn't matter what I think. You know why? Because this chain, like so many chains that serve steak....do a decent job and they pack them in. They don't need my money...the tourists are enough. But I will go to the one place that I think is truly the best and that is Keens. Still has some tourists but NOT in midtown and not suffering from the lack of help, out front or in the kitchen. I would hasten to add that at $1000 for 5 (after they voluntarily discounted our check), I've had so much better for the money.

WE CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!!

By John T |

We love visiting steakhouses when we come to New York. This was our first visit to Del Frisco's Double Eagle. It was well-above what we expected. The cocktails, wine list, food, and service were exceptional. I ordered mine "Pittsburgh medium-rare" and it was grilled to perfection. Our waiter, Peter, made the night feel special. We'll be coming back when we return to New York, and we'll be sure to be served by Peter.

The worst server !!!

By Paula M |

How do I started this ??? , I just came back from the restaurant and I decide to write this review hoping that they improve their service and pay attention when people make reservations . My husband and I came all the way from Washington DC to celebrate our birthday, Fourth year ago we did and we have the most amazing experience, how ever today was a nightmare . We called to make a reservation and my husband specifically told them that we wanted to celebrate our birthday , when we got there the girls hostessing ask us if there was anything we where celebrating and we did!! Our waiter ignored us the whole time !!! We saw how he was so attentive to two big parties 8 to 6 people each table , but us and the table right next to us ..,, nada My husband got his beer 30 minutes after he ordered , we ask if we could have side salad or share it , and he said no!!! While the other table party of 8 , a couple share a salad, my steak was medium and I specifically ask for well done !!! My husband ask for medium well … it was less than a medium , we try to get he’s attention the whole night … and that NEVER HAPPEN!!! At the end of the night he never mention one word about the birthday celebration, instead he came and ask if we wanted to order more drinks and dessert … my husband and I were sooo mad that we told him to forget it , not to mention that he was so obvious when the big party left to open the check and see how much they tipped him , same party that came a little after us but left before because he took good care of them !! It was so upsetting we came for so far away to be treated like we did not mi d at all and yes… I did not got any celebration dessert , instead I got a raw steak .

Worst dinner ever!

By Christina |

Six of us went for dinner last night and it was the worst meal of my life. I ordered a filet medium and husband ordered a ribeye medium rare. Filet came rare, ribeye came medium well. I attempted to take a bite anyway, and all I tasted was blood, salt, and an off putting overall taste. I complained and the waiter informed me that “this was their medium.” How ridiculous and patronizing! He took my plate and returned with an obviously microwaved filet. The two bite sized pieces I had cut were beyond well done, literally black in color. When I complained to the waiter again, he told me to cut the filet and said nothing when he saw it was medium rare. Not one word. My husband did not eat his ribeye. Along with being overcooked, his was also extremely salty and had a bad taste. Our friends ordered a porterhouse that came rare, sent it back to be cooked to medium and it was returned well done. Again, theirs was inedible. Overcooked and too salty. Sides were okay, but also salty. Now, normally I would never mention this, but due to the disgusting steak experience, I will discuss. When seated we had to ask for the wine menu. Husband and I were trying to look it over and make a choice. The waiter stood directly over us flipping pages and pointing to numerous $200+ bottles, repeatedly asking, “do you want this?” Although I attempted to turn the pages, he literally would not let me look over the menu. We have no problem with enjoying a great bottle of wine, but the blatant rushing, manhandling of the menu, and the attempt to push certain bottles was definitely a new experience for us. Now, in the past four months, we have also been to both locations of STK. Fabulous flavorful steak, sides, and fantastic overall experience. Make your dining decisions wisely!

Great Food & Service, Noisy

By Mark N |

I dined here with my mother before seeing a show a few blocks away. We had an early reservation (about 5:30) and the restaurant was already pretty busy when we arrived. We were able to check our coats at the coat-check and were seated within a few minutes of our reservation. The menu is a-la-carte, the steaks were excellent a cooked exactly as we ordered them. The table bread is fantastic, as were the cocktails we ordered. I was able to upgrade the rye in my old fashioned for a very small upcharge. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. Two things to note about the restaurant: it is fairly noisy, with some modern music playing in the background that seems somewhat out of place for the feel of the restaurant. There are also very limited bathrooms for the size of the restaurant and they are upstairs on the second level. They have restroom attendants to mitigate the heavy use they get, but it was a little strange for this level of restaurant. Overall, great food. I'd certainly go back for a late lunch or a snack. Dinner is certainly worth a visit so long as you don't mind the noise and have a reservation.

Special and elegant dinner

It was a good experience and very special dinner. I ordered shrimp cocktail, mashed potato mushroom and two kind of steak. It was very special and elegant time.

Really Nice. Really, Really Expensive.

By NancyCarolLifton1995 |

Crazy, insanely expensive. As in, empty your bank account expensive. The service was very nice and the food all delicious. The wine list was unforgiving. We ordered a red for $150 and when it was time to order a second bottle, we ordered the same because there wasn't anything less expensive. It's true that you get what you pay for, but just be prepared. You're spending a lot.

Amazing food

Not what it once was

This restaurant has been a regular for my family for years, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Roughly 5 times a year, and it was always considered to be a "can't go wrong" experience. We recently purchased a $250.00 gift card for our son as he hit a milestone birthday recently and was going to NYC for the weekend to celebrate with his wife. Long story short, it was awful start to finish. They waited for almost 30 minutes to be seated even though they had a reservation and the restaurant was only about 1/2 full. The service was extremely slow and their waiter was not helpful or informative. There were no specials, the appetizers they ordered took a long time to come out and were extremely salty. They didn't even finish them. They each had filet, again, all salt and they couldn't finish them. The waiter apologized and took one of the appetizers off the bill, not the way to resolve the issue. There was a maitre d who came by and was indifferent, just didn't seem concerned at all. Side note, there was a group of guests close by who were doing a photo shoot with very bright lights flashing which bothered them and all seated nearby. This was allowed to continue despite the guests that complained. I want to reiterate that no one I know who goes to Del Friscos has ever complained at all. This is more than just a bad night for them, it seems to be a total drop from a quality dining experience, to being a sightseeing venue that has gone downhill. Not that it matters to them, but we will never be going back to a place where we have so many great memories. It's just sad. Please stay away, I know there are other steak houses in NYC.

This is a Special Event Dining Experience!

By zap2504 |

Staggering 3-floor interior (was a prominent bank)! They also have a 2nd floor seating area and a "vault room" for more intimacy. Fantastic dishes/menu selections! Wonderful dinks/wine selections! Parking garage nearby but we took an Uber since we were staying in the historic district. This is a national chain (a la Ruth Crist's) but the Double Eagle (named for the twin art deco eagle statues in the entry) is unique.

Nice place.... Call for attention

By Bere G |

The disrespectful, rude hosts didn't want to open the door with our stroller. These are people who don't tolerate Latinos. The meat was not as requested!

Always a great meal/time at Del Friscos

Wonderful food, drinks. Great menu selection to choose from. Our server was excellent. It's always an enjoyable experience.

Great birthday dinner with tweens

By tdsisum |

Went here for our son’s 12th birthday. Delicious steaks, sides and appetizers. Good cocktails and desserts too. Appreciate that they comped our son’s birthday dessert. Would recommend if someone is looking for an upscale steakhouse near time square.

The best steak ever!

This is a great venue and location.. its v popular with the locals and heaving over 1000 covers the night we were there! However great atmosphere although service was slow our waiter upstairs was outstanding hope mngt read this as he seemed to balance and keep everything running at 100 mph! It was the best steak we have ever eaten but portions our HUGE one steak is like half a cow!! Would feed our whole family! We would def return but hopefully not so busy!

Fantastic in every way

We've been to Del Frisco's Double Eagle in Orlando and we were excited to have dinner at the one in Rockefeller. Even in February, on a Saturday night, the place was PACKED. We waited a bit past our reservation time. It was surprisingly loud with music and so much going on, vs the one in Orlando which was a quiet atmosphere the day we went. Now, we had 4 people in our party and I will say, Del Frisco's is NOT A Cheap Date kind of place, lol. Our bill toppled into the 4 figure mark - for dinner! Granted, that did include a variety of wines and a bar tab, but it also included 9 oz of Kobe beef and a multitude of other dishes. It was all excellent. Figuring out that you don't like rare meet after you've bought 9 oz of Kobe for the first time in your life probably wasn't ideal, but it sure was fun. Everything really was delicious though. The butter on the bread was fantastic, too! 2 Ribeyes came out excellent, Alaskan King crab was out of this world, other seafood appetizers absolutely delicious. I have to say I didn't love the lobster bisque. Not sure why as I usually do. Wines were great, steaks were great. For the prices, it was very much the meal we expected. Truly a lovely experience, and definitely a once in a life time for spending that kind of money on dinner! We totally didn't have room for desserts, but after a bit of a walk outside, Magnolia bakery is just across the street so eventually when we had some appetite again we went in there right before they closed.

Wonderful flavors

Really fun dining experience and beautiful restaurant. The bread is fantastic. We got the wedge salad and salmon. Both were delicious. Parking in deck and dress code mandatory.

Beware: HORRIBLE Seating, Service and Food

By Resort23292985722 |

This steakhouse was such a disappointment..... the seating, service and food were terrible. My son and I went to this steakhouse to celebrate on Christmas Day. He thought that the price tag would guarantee a good experience. Oh my goodness, it ranks #1 in my book of "Restaurants NOT to go to"....at ANY PRICE. The only thing that went right was being seated pretty much at our reservation time (2:15-ish). From there it was downhill FAST. They set us at the only table in that entire restaurant where our view was blocked, even though there were many other 2-seat table to be seated at! We asked if we could be seated at a table where we could see the view, and we were told "no, those tables are for someone else". They put us behind one of those huge wooden columns, where we couldn't take in the view, which is supposed to be one of their special features. The man that sat us said he would be right back with water. 20 minutes later, we still didn't have any water, so I had to flag someone down just to get a glass of water. (Keep in mind.... The restaurant opens at 2:00 and our reservation was at 2:15..... Maybe 1/3 of the tables had been seated.... And still the service was horrible.) We sat another 15 minutes when my son said that we should have received bread on the table, as he had been there in the past. Once again, we had to flag someone down to get some bread. We would have had better service at a cheap buffet, than we had at this restaurant. Finally the waiter comes over. Truly the worst I have ever experienced in my life. He didn't give us any information on the food and just asked us "what do you want". The icing on the cake was the expensive steak that I received. Good steakhouses don't put salt on expensive pieces of meat.... But this restaurant caked on a salt seasoning so thickly that I couldn't even eat this outrageously priced steak!!! My son was able to get his down, by the hardest. The french fries were ice cold, and tasteless as well, but I knew it was a waste of time to get a waiter over there to correct the fries or the steak. The incompetence was unbelievable. I called the next day to speak with management. Of course, I didn't get a return call.. because they truly Do Not care about their customers. Do not waste your money on this restaurant. It is HORRIBLE.

Great experience

Great view and nice interior. Very small bar for a Del Friscos upstairs there have another down stairs. Service was good and food was great. Was one of the best filets I’ve had in a while and we eat out a lot

Excellent value

By 92SP1967 |

A nicely appointed steakhouse with attentive staff near Times Square below the Rockefeller Center. Quantities are served generously. A nice wine list with bottles from all countries. As a starter I would recommend some crispy cheese curd, little cheese bites and the 16Oz ribeye is terrible. Great value for money

Crowded & Wonderful

By Beyondthebull |

My Lady ordered Surf & Turf Trio and I got the ribeye. Excellent! She ordered the mash potato side-dish and I ordered the twice baked truffle potato. Excellent! Beware … 1 side-dish of potatoes can easily feed two. A surprise piece of birthday cheesecake was served at the end of our meal. Excellent! Service was excellent, too! (We’ll be back again soon.)

Good but Could Be Great

By NWATravelers1000 |

The filet was very good but the temperature when served was somewhat cool and the baked potato arrived on an extremely hot plate but the potato was not warm enough to melt the dollop of butter atop. The ambiance is very good and comfortable but has a few things that detract from being great. The main dining room gets gusts of the cool air from the from door each time it opens and the background music is loud and at times too raucous to enjoy a comfortable and relaxed dinner. Service was just ok for an establishment as this as the servers would appear almost surprisingly and at times seemed abrupt.

Wonderful lunch and service

Had a wonderful lunch! Daniel was our server and he was fantastic! Highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Will be back soon and will ask for Daniel!

Fantastic food in a fantastic location

By Chris T |

Fantastic food in a superb location. The restaurant is bustling yet calm and sophisticated however it wasn’t exactly the special occasion dinner we had hoped for. We dined on Christmas Day at 2.00pm as a small family and maybe it was just an American thing but there was nothing different from any other day; no greeting of merry Christmas by our server, Infact no introduction of our server at all. The food was simply delicious but it felt like we was a slight inconvenience which was a shame so we left shortly after our main course.

Never again

By loretta s |

We returned to this restaurant after many years, remembering it as a nice place, where we had dined on various occasions. Quite the opposite occurred. Booked at 9.00pm and the table was ready after 20 minutes. A stuck table that I had to have changed. The mediocre service, without Wi-Fi, the girls at the reception are unpleasant and lack professionalism. We asked already that there was no Wi-Fi to call us a taxi. They told us to go out on the road and find him. I will never return, a sea port. Indeed, perhaps there is more attention in the port.

Amazing Experience. Our server was fabulous, and the food was incredible. The place is gorgeous at Christmastime. Definitely get a reservation ahead of time!!

Delicious delight!

By Melanie C |

We love NY steakhouses and had not tried DelFriscos. Well, so glad we did tonight! What a pleasant and delicious surprise! We didn’t have a reservation and they were able to sit us right away. Our server, Lanisha, was a delight. And made our experience even better. We ordered the filet, which was perfect. But the must have is the double baked truffle potato! Heavenly! Plus, the restaurant has high ceilings and big windows which makes it very grand. Highly recommend!

Vegan? Eat before or after you go here!

By bradytogronk |

The worst meal I have ever had. Yes, I am serious. I am vegan, and I have had fantastic dinners at other steakhouses -baked potato, salad, sides (mushrooms, asparagus, etc). The salad at Del Frisco’s was paltry. They could not do a baked potato without butter. The asparagus was grey. It was so awful. The server told me the bordelaise sauce was vegan. GTFOH.

Great!

Great service! The waiter Michael was over the top and provided a great service during the whole lunch!

Great address in New York

By Sebastien_D54 |

We came to dinner one evening at this restaurant for Christmas Eve. It was full and there were many people downstairs at the cloakroom where we waited a few moments before being placed quieter upstairs and where we were served excellent brioche bread. For my part, I had chosen a lamb chop, and my companion a land/sea mixture all accompanied by a cream baked potato and macaroni with lobster and cheese. These dishes proved incredibly good, the accompaniments were very hearty. The service was courteous, efficient and very professional throughout our meal. Unfortunately, we were a little caught up in the time that night as we would have stayed longer to enjoy this excellent restaurant that I highly recommend.

**"A Night at Del Frisco’s: Heavenly Steak, Stellar Crab Cake, and a Side of Noise"**

By Merryheart |

Dinner at Del Frisco's was a blend of highs and a few misses, but an undeniably memorable experience. Here's my breakdown: Thick-Cut Bacon: Juicy with a sweet caramelized flavour and a strong black pepper note. However, the texture fell short compared to rivals like Peter Luger-less crispy and a bit too fatty for my liking. Bread Service: A highlight! Served piping hot, with a soft, buttery texture and generous portions-comforting and satisfying. Crab Cake: A standout dish and among the best l've ever had. Chunky and flaky crab meat, paired with a savoury, rich crab roe sauce, and an extra kick of complexity from red chili—a dish I'd return for. Prime Rib Eye: Excellently prepared and truly unforgettable. The thick cut, juicy tenderness, perfect marbling, and bold, meaty flavour made it one of the finest steaks I've had in NYC. Medium rare was spot on! ^ Ambience: The interior was undoubtedly classy and inviting, but the high noise level detracted from the experience, making it challenging to hold a decent conversation. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, this might not be the spot. Overall, Del Frisco's delivered solid culinary hits with a couple of minor stumbles. If you're after impeccable steak or a stellar crab cake, this spot won't disappoint. Just be prepared for a lively crowd!

DISCRIMINATION

By Damian A |

We arrived no reservation in place. We were greeted and the receptionist took our stroller and checked it in. Moments later another girl approached claiming to be one of the managers and told us we couldn’t dine. That they were invoking there dress code standards. Apparently, the standards only apply arbitrarily. As people entered with jeans, sneakers, sweatshirts and other articles of clothing that wouldn’t meet her stated criteria. Shortly there after a meeting of the minds occurred at the stairs with 2 other disheveled gentlemen. So just curious what standards are in place. Some immediate standouts are the doorman with a skull cap on while inside. The coat girl sleeping in the check-in room. One of the 3 receptionists with her 27 neck tattoo prominently displayed. But the manager took issue with my wife’s knitted pants and embroided shirt because her coverup was a sweatshirt that she removed. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue at the establishment. Although a first and last for us. Scratch this establishment from the list. It was good while it lasted but I’ll take my money elsewhere. Many other establishments willing to take my money and provide quality service.

Food Excellent, Atmosphere Issue

By Camper48798038156 |

The food and service was excellent as always. We were eating at the bar. A group entered and sat at the bar, brought 2 bags of leftovers and started to listen to their cellphones on speaker. They were watching sports. It totally wrecked the atmosphere. We complained and the manager (Ceasar), who made every excuse for them he could, and reflected the issue upon us. 'I did not hear them...' etc. The group knew the security guard so apparently they had special privilege. The manager seemed to confirm this saying 'he is a fighter....' etc. One of the younger members even confronted us since he knew we spoke to manager. I would expect more from Del Frisco's, but this seemed more an isolated issue of a manager that needed more training and to be objective. Bringing your own food into the bar, listening to phones on speaker should not be accepted in such a place.

Steak house in midtown with good quality meat

Typical environment for a steak house, a little dark and noisy. The service was quite poor, the food was good, certainly very expensive. I don't think I would go back

Steakhouse Perfection: A Memorable Evening at Del Frisco’s NYC

Recently had dinner at Del Frisco’s in NYC and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The food was exceptional, offering a perfect blend of flavors and a memorable culinary journey. The atmosphere at the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment, providing a welcoming and comfortable setting. The drinks were also a highlight, expertly crafted and complementing the meal beautifully. I would highly recommend Del Frisco’s to anyone in search of a top-notch steakhouse restaurant in New York City. It’s a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike!

Del Frisco's Steakhouse

It was my first time trying the wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing and it was amazing. The steak and the sides were all very delicious, but the wedge salad with creamy dressing really stood out for me!
