Lovely little place (reserve for one of the few tiny tables) with the most incredible vegan FRENCH food!!! Classic dishes such as coq a vin and beef bourguignon! My husband always said the one dish he missed most as a vegan was coq a vin so he was thrilled to order it...What was truly amazing is that both his dish and my beef bourguignon were made with healthy pea protein...but both our dishes looked and tasted completely like the "real" thing. What a treat! We were transported culinary and culturally to Paris!

As a French person, I'm normally very skeptical of French restaurants in the States as I have been continually disappointed, so I tend to avoid them completely. But my vegan sister urged me to try this place with her and honestly their vegan versions of traditional French dishes were better than most non-vegan versions I have tasted in the US (NY included). The steak tartare was so flavourful and the confit de canard had a surprisingly realistic texture. The ambiance was very cozy and intimate, and the place is owned by a French family so it is "legit" as you would say.

Since my husband is a vegetarian, I rarely have the opportunity to get French food. This is a fabulous place to combine his requirements with my passion! He got the steak tartar and it looked so authentic, he wasn't even sure he could eat it. He did. It was fabulous! I got the coq au vin. Also wonderful. The wait staff was lovely. It is a super tiny place though (a la NYC) so just don't go there if you have any private conversations you wish to have. :)

I live in Greenwich Village and recently discovered this small gem, which I have now returned to a number of times. They serve delicious crepes and galettes, in a charming atmosphere with lovely French popular music playing in the background at just the right volume. The galettes are varied in filling, many with creative combinations, and for those who want to avoid gluten, they have the additional bonus of being made from buckwheat (as they are in France) and so completely gluten free.

This was an excellent find and food is all completely vegan and fabulous. We have enjoyed several meals here and cannot find any faults with the food. We've been here for brunch and enjoyed the crepes, for dinner we enjoyed the cheese plate and the "steak" made from mushrooms with crispy frites. Save room for dessert you will not regret it! This is a small place so I highly recommend you make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

It's a cute French creperie in Greenwich Village serving galettes and crepes. We had Mr. Petrossian which has Smoked Salmon, Shrimp, Avocado Puree, Egg, Coriander and I loved it and La Paysanne which has Bacon, Tomatoes, Onions, Potatoes, Egg, Gruyere. Surprisingly enough I preferred Mr. Petrossian because it tasted better. It's a tiny restaurant so their tables are extremely small and everything is very tight, all the tables are very close to each other. There were only two other tables when I went. I think their galettes and crepes are delicious and it's a good place to go to if you want a crepe meal experience in NYC.

I live with 3 vegans, and somehow the notion of vegan and french really doesn't come up very often, so when we were looking for a restaurant on Christmas Day in New York, and we found this, we couldn't resist (we did have to confirm, since it seemed too good to be true). The result was a really special evening, the food was really extraordinary, the galettes and crepes took me back to my youth when we would regularly have them. Equally amazing were the vegan cheese samplers, which were really impressive, especially since they appear to make them themselves.

From the Foie gras followed by bœuf bourguignon and galette chèvre and ending with gâteau au chocolat et riz au lait lavendre everything was so good and tasty. Add to this the excellent wine, great coffee and tremendous service I cannot recommend this place enough. Merci.

Transported to another place and time in a neighborhood that’s already magical. Vegan French Cuisine in a quaint out of the way restaurant that we just happened to stumble upon. A happy accident as they say. Loved every minute of it and can’t wait to go back. The food flavors are fantastic and so creative.

I stopped in for lunch and was blown away. I had a savory crepe (Mr Rabelais). The mustard creme sauce was so good, I can still nearly conjure the taste of it from memory. Wonderful little place. Lunch was fairly low-key, but the room is small, so get dinner reservations. Had I discovered this place sooner, I would have eaten every meal I had in town here.

Celebratory Dinner that was truly amazing! They had the "chunk" meat that tasted like real meat with a good texture- would go back just for that! Warm and inviting atmosphere!

The crepes are good, but I still don't really understand the "vegan" part. The music is cool, old french hits, ,mostry from the 80's! :)

This is probably the best vegan restaurant in New York. I highly recommend the cassoulet, the impossible burger and the scallops. It is very small. I counted 24 seats. They do take reservations.

Not a vegan myself but amazingly surprised with flavors texture of dishes imitating traditional French dishes; cheese platter with scrumptious bread, crepe escargots or onion soup followed with beef bourguignon coq au vin or steak frites whatever you select you’ll enjoy And if if still room taste the dessert plus great service

We visited the restaurant for dinner. We enjoyed savory galettes for dinner. The buckwheat used for the galette is imported from Italy. We also enjoyed a crepe gourmandes to finish our meal. This is a wonderful small restuarant. The service was excellent.

Walking thru the West Village, we came upon Delicea in quiet section of Christopher Street. As I'm vegetarian, I thought that a vegan French restaurant would be a fun opportunity. The reviews for D&S are good, so I was really looking forward to this unique meal. We were 5 for dinner. The staff were so totally friendly and pleasant, very much different than other reviewers have written. The presentation of the food was gorgeous, truly a challenge in this time when we all eat outside. The appetizers we're good, the brie and onion soup we're flavorful, but frankly very salty. The escargot selection was good, but again, very salty. For entrees, I ordered the Impossible burger which was good. The sauce was reasonable, but very salty. The duck was the best selection. 2 of us ordered a savory dinner crepe. The buckwheat crepe was sour and not enjoyable. The fillings were better, but at best 'good'. The dessert crepes were much better-dark chocolate drizzled on a pear or almond filled crepe. The cost was very high. The location and ambience were very nice. There are a lot of choices in the Village, I'd choose somewhere else.

We stopped here for lunch during a cruise port visit to NYC. Although on the pricey side, where can you find vegan French food!? We really enjoyed everything we tried – French onion soup, the Verrine de Saumon, the “beef” Bourguignon. The dessert crepes were amazing. I thought it was odd that they named their dishes after the animal product version (e.g. foie gras) as in some ways that is unappealing to a vegan diner. All in all, it was a decadent treat to dine here!

I am a vegetarian and the fact that this was a vegan french restaurant was just too intriguing to let pass. A tiny space, serving only french food, all vegan. Ordered the "salmon" which came with brussel sprouts and ordered the truffle fries. Flavours were different, not like eating the fish itself, but palatable. The major downside was it was extremely heavy. The fries were good. The desert - a chocolate eclair was rock hard straight from the freezer with no real taste and with very little chocolate - extremely disappointing. Will I go back - no. Service was friendly and the interiors were quaintly done up.

Been here 2x and can't recommend highly enough. All the dishes ordered by everyone in our party were delicious, staff are attentive and friendly and the food is unique. Innovative formulations of meat substitutes. Definitely worth checking out and coming back.

Are there last night with friends and loved this little gem. Crepes gourmands were delicious. We had the Henri 4 and the New Yorkaise. Both delicious, filling and reasonably priced at $15. Dessert crepes equally fantastic. Bought a groupon so it was truly an amazing deal. Definitely recommend this place for tourists and locals.

Why if providing Vegan cuisine do you have to name the dishes after meat! Only I guess in NYC would this seem acceptable?

Had dinner there. Reservation is recommended- place is small is fills up quickly. It is 100% vegan organic! We had 2 appetizers, two entrees and 1 dessert, absolutely loved every flavor! Service was very nice! Over all a great experience! Would definitely come back!

Lovely little place with *AMAZING* vegan food! We all loved our main dishes, but I thought the baked brie appetizer & chocolate mousse dessert were out of this world. The server was very nice & helpful, but I imagine when the place is full it would get a little hectic.

I tried the highest rating vegan restaurants such as By Chloe and this restaurant. I decided I won't try anymore :-( Food are too expensive and I can't finish half of it. Boeuf Bourguignon: taste weird and too bitter Creme De Carrot: too sweet La Lolotte Crepe: 6.5/10

C’est le moins français que l’on puisse imaginer. Unfortunately, that was my overwhelming impression of this so-called patisserie. While the coffee was decent, the pastries were absolutely inedible. Old, stale, and flavorless — an insult to French pâtisserie. The flan tart in particular was a disaster: a cardboard-like crust filled with something resembling plaster, topped with a few sad shreds of coconut. To make matters worse, they warmed it up before serving, presumably in an attempt to disguise its staleness. It didn’t work. It’s truly a pity, because the place itself looks inviting and charming from the outside. But when it comes to the most important part — the pastries — this establishment fails on every level.

Really lovely experience, this is the first time I tried vegan French food and my expectations were met and exceeded. I had the banana and chocolate crepes and will be going back for more before I leave NYC!

The restaurant is very cramped and crowded. The service was very French ( by that I mean not very friendly, a bit aloof). But all of that would have been ok if the food had been awesome, which it wasn’t. The “beef” bourginon was just a poor substitute for the real thing. The ratatouille was fine, but a very small portion served with one slice of bread. The steak frites... just ordinary fries with a less than tasty burger patty. The worst was the crepe: a thick, tough dark wheat crepe filled with a mealy paste. The one decent dish we had was the “baked Brie” appetizer.

The menu looks promising, with a wide range of crepes, both savory and sweet. Our group filled several tables, so we sample a variety of both types. Actually, they serve Galettes, or BUCKWHEAT, crepes style; thin and fried. The flavor is very different than we expected, especially after many trips to France. The galettes are chewy, with a nutty flavor that some may like. None of these were what we sought. We hoped for a solid old fashion wheat based crepe. The dessert "crepes" make up for it a little. They serve excellent tea and coffee. Service, BTW, is outstanding.

As a longtime vegan and longtime lover of French foods, it was a special treat to find this cozy little family-run restaurant in the Village that happens to be both. Absolutely the BEST crepes (both savory and sweet). Also loved the escargot (made with mushrooms) and the truffle fries were amazing. The service was wonderful -- Christophe was super-nice and accommodating. We will be back -- lots of things on the menu we still want to try -- especially the cheese platter.

We made a reservation based on the very positive review in a national publication. Unfortunately, nothing lived up to it. We had two entrees: their version of crab cake, and of cassoulet, the epitome of French country cooking. As to the latter, the beans (heart of the dish) were substantially overcooked and mushy. The duck confit substitute was also super-soft, without good mouth feel, while the sauce was pretty tasteless. Crab cake, similarly, was short on texture, and came with a piece of plastic in it. We were comped for this, much appreciated, but we expected far more from the food.

The service was good, the ambience was good, the acoustics are good but the food is only mediocre. I had the seitan "duck". The peas tasted like they were right out of the can, the carrots were over cooked and they somehow managed to ruin the texture of the seitan. The portion was generous. The dessert menu looked interesting but I didn't have ample stomach space.

The Galettes are filled with delicious ingredients. My favorite is Mr. Sequin which is filled with goat Cheese, Gruyère, chicken, walnuts and honey. I've also liked the vegetarian one, filled with Zucchini, Peppers, Eggplant, Tomato, Onions, Egg, Thyme, Cumin. It's charming and they play wonderful French music. I would highly recommend it. If you are concerned about gluten, the galettes are gluten free.

Do you ever imagine yourself as a fabulous French woman sitting at a café, eating vegan crepes? Just moi? If you need to live out the fantasy, Délice & Sarrasin is vegan French restaurant where you’ll find Parisian perfection with a fully plant-based menu. What’s Good: Tournedos Rossini- "Impossible Food" filet steak, cooked in Frontignant sauce, atop a light butter crouton, topped with foie gras and fresh black truffle Sweet Crêpes, full gluten (GF available) Drink Up: French Vegan wine (no animal products used in the fining process) Make a Booking: Booking not required but the space has only 9 two-tops, so highly recommend booking ahead

We ordered both savory and sweet crepes and was just so Wow by everything. The savory crepe was outstanding, it has been ages since I have eaten a nice authentic crepe in the city. The sweet crepes will just leave you wanting more, I ordered the banana and my husband ordered the lemon one. We also got the French cider and I asked where they got the French cider, knowing that they don't sell it in the store, the owner told me they imported it from France, that's why. This would really satisfy all your cravings. Comforty seating with lots of lights, such a great place to dine and chill.

FINALLY! A vegan restaurant with lot of delicious options. This place really tests your senses as most of the plates are vegan version of known French dishes. The “foie gras” is absolutely delicious and the “scallops” are very well done. They have really good options of savory and sweet crepes and the wine is also vegan! I tried the Riesling and was really good. The ambiance of the place is very French and you could make it casual or more dress up based on the ocasión you celebrate. Service was attentive and ready to recommend dishes. I loved that they also offer GF options and most (if not all) of the dishes can be adjusted to GF. I will definitely go back and for all those vegan (and non vegan) fellows out there… give it try, it won’t disappoint. Forgot to say that prices are reasonable for a dinner in NYC.

Went here before a show on a Saturday night. Reservations recommended. It really is a small (intimate) restaurant. The staff were friendly. We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

It is a small restaurant, so make sure to make a reservation before you go. I've been there for brunch and dinner, and I prefer their dinner menu. The Brie Roti et Fondant Vegetale and the Steak Tartare are to die for. Some of my favorite items on the dinner menu are the Coq Au Vin, the Bœuf Bourguignon, and the Poulet Basquaise. I could eat there every day. The service is also great and the serves are always very polite.

My vegan daughter and I found this awesome restaurant and were over-the-moon happy with every aspect of our experience. The food was a celebration, and I -as a non-vegan- found it completely satisfying, and not lacking in any way. For appetizers, I had escargot, my daughter had the roasted Brie. Fantastic! For our main course we kept it classic and ordered Bœuf Bourgignon, and Coq Au Vin. Again, fantastic. For dessert we ordered Lattes and Crêpes Francinette. Again, fantastic. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc with my main course. We both also had a bottle of bubble water. The restaurant is beautiful and quiet enough to actually enjoy your companion in conversation. The waitstaff was attentive and professional. The vibe was not pretentious, which I appreciated. I was traveling in a nice pair of blue jeans, but did not feel out of place. I felt the restaurant was really just wanting you to come and enjoy the great food, and dine in the best tradition of that word. Price-wise, this was a splurge for us. But worth every penny. I highly recommend Delice and Sarrasin to anyone who enjoys good food and lovely atmosphere.

Tasty and lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed the wines. Soups were excellent. French onion. Carrot. Had the crabcake and coq au vin. Both were quite good. Service could have been a bit more polished but not bad at all. Nice little romantic spot for a date.

My wife and I were quite pleasantly surprised when we happened upon this small, lovely restaurant in the heart of Greenwich Village. We were led to a nice window seat and treated to pleasant sounds of soft French music. We thought we were back in Paris. We were unaware of French vegan cuisine until now. I had a delicious ratatouille and my wife had an arugula salad of fava beans, cucumber, and tomato with a tasty balsamic dressing. Service was excellent as was the food and price. I’d definitely return.

Highlight of our NYC VEGAN culinary experience. Quaint, small restaurant with a unique atmosphere. The small plate cheese and Brie appetizers were fantastic. VEGAN take on traditional French cuisine was really well done. For the gluten intolerant an assortment of crepes are available and very well done.

we specifically prebooked dinner at an outdoor table the host could not to be found so we sat down at an empty outdoor table for two the manager screamed at us that we were not allowed to l sit down although no one was there and we calmly tried to tell him we booked an outdoor table he then had a problem with another party of six telling them they booked an indoor table when they stated they rang that afternoon to specifically book outdoors the 'manager' then refused to put on a mask arrogantly saying he was not 'obligated' to although he was taking orders greeting diners serving food etc inside and outside we asked for the owners details and he said to email although there is no email on the restaurant website we left and will not be returning staff at all other restaurants in the area are masked which is for everyones benefit we had a much nicer evening dining in a rooftop cabin at soho house with staff appropriately masked

The croutons in the salad are so hard that it broke my tooth. The ham vegan dishes smells that if ham so it’s not suitable for vegetarians who don’t eat ham!!! Very very small restaurant, reservations has to be made before visiting. About 5 tables only.

lovely little (literally) French inspired vegan restaurant. Classics made vegan. very nice experience and yummy food!

This is a great, but tiny restaurant. If you are looking for a great vegan restaurant this fits the bill. We had a group and all ordered something different and thoroughly enjoyed. Dishes do not look huge but no one could eat it all. Waiters were excellent and had good suggestions.

I've been to vegetarian restaurants where the servers aren't vegetarians. That's all fine, as long as they're nice and friendly. But at this restaurant, I was afraid to ask... the servers seem to only care about the customers they know. They truly don't seem to care! The dishes were also a bit too salty, but we were not recommended to order bread or anything else to go with it. We ordered too much due to the excitement. Two of the dishes were exactly the same except for the protein part, although the names of the dish were completely different. A good server would have said something so that we could try a different variety. Not that he cared if we liked it... I feel we had to demand more to get service. Maybe next time. However, it was amazing that they had a big choice of menu. Happy that we found French Vegan!

Love Paris - hate that I can’t always enjoy the food due to limited Veg options - Delice & Sarrasin really do a great job. It’s pretty tiny so make reservations. The portions are good in size. Was nice to enjoy some classic French dishes vegan style.

The restaurant looks very nice, good chairs, nice background music. The service is attentive. The food was a bit less amazing than I had expected. Still good, but not great. The melted Brie was very good, just a relatively small piece though. The snails were quite good. The steak tartare was so so. The taste was at first good, but too distinctive, which is why I couldn’t finish it. The steak with truffle fries was nice. The chicken legs were quite nice as well. It has chorizo in it, but my son only found 2/3 small pieces of chorizo in the dish. They did a good job at creating a French vegan experience, but somehow it’s not 100% there yet as far as the flavors go. Maybe copy the real thing a bit less to have more focus on the taste? It was good, but not as great as I had expected.

This small charming Greenwich Village restaurant has wonderful ambiance. The menu is very French (cassoulet, coq au vin) and all vegan. The service is excellent. and it's owned and operated by a mother (chef) and son (front of house). Elegant.

We had dinner here and few days later had lunch. Both were tasty French vegan meals. Soup was great as was salad, crepes, dessert. Great find!

My wife and I were here for dinner over MLK weekend and we really loved this restaurant. My wife is a Vegan and I am a Vegetarian so it is difficult to find restaurants that can accommodate us. My wife had the Coq au Vin and I had the Steak Frites. They were both amazing and I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

The atmosphere is simple and refined, the waiter was kind and patient and the food was really rich which I very much enjoyed. I am an a NYer and will be going again soon. Thank you.

The restaurant is very cozy , warm and the food is amazing I had boeuf bourguignon that fooled me , a cheese platter with Brie fondant that tasted like real Brie. I could believe the flavors and the taste of the dishes Desert was chocolate mousse , probably one of the best one I ever had . My friend had vegan crème brûlée that was delicious I highly recommend this little gem in the west village. People were waiting outside on line for a table

Delicious vegan take on French cuisine. The dishes were very well executed, delicious and mouth watering. After spending four days touring the city and finding little choices of vegan food this was like finding an oasis. The food was heavenly! All the dishes we ate were excellent especially the vegan mushroom steak (highly recommended). Definitely visiting there soon for another awesome experience.

Came here cause I went out with some friends who are vegan. I have never eaten at a vegan restaurant nor have I ever tried to eat strictly vegan. I wasn't sure what to expect and I loved this place. I am currently pregnant so my diet is pretty limited but going to a restaurant where I could eat everything was amazing. I got to eat things like fois gras that I haven't had in months and the consistency, texture, and taste was a pretty close match to the real thing. Everyone loved everything they had and I already have plans to bring some friends back.

The vegan meals we had were brie fondant as an appetizer, steak frites, poulet basquaise and coquille st. Jacques as main meals and of course La Bryan as our shared dessert. Everything we had was amazing- from presentation, to amazing taste . The restaurant was quaint and small with great service and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place ! we were so pleasantly surprised .

I have eaten at Delice & Sarrasin several times for both lunch and dinner, and I have always had a wonderful relaxed meal. The restaurant is located in the heart of Greenwich Village, on a beautiful tree-lined side street. Delice & Sarrasin specializes in both savory and sweet "galettes" (buckwheat crepes filled with a huge variety of tasty fillings), salads, coffees and wine. I have tried and loved several of the both the sweet and savory crepes, so you really cannot go wrong. It is charming, family-run business, lead by handsome Christophe in the dining room, and his elegant mother Yvette in the kitchen.

Vegan dining in a really nice, cosy atmosphere. Looking out the window, you feel transported to Paris! Faux escargots are a treat!

I never dared to try french cuisine being a vegetarian, knowing my options will be pretty limited. I was pleasantly surprised, when I found these vegan french place. Loved the innovative dishes and absolutely loved the ambience.

Creatively wonderful French cuisine. Excellent service on Saturday night. Small space, all the better to expertly prepare the delights with focus on each meal. My spouse began with delicious French onion soup (special) while I had the subtle, delicately flavored escargots. Main course for both of us was boeuf bourguignon. Very satisfying and filling. For desert we shared creme brulee. This was a masterpiece! By the way, I had the red Burgundy - full and slightly tannic. (Like the food, the wines are vegan.) My wife had elderberry infused sparkling water. Experiencing such culinary excellence devoted to veganism takes my breath away.

It's what you would hope to find in Greenwich Village, something rare, something charming.,. This authentic, very intimate restaurant makes you feel like you are on the left bank in Paris and this is where I was invited for my birthday for an authentic vegan lunch served with organic white wine. Just so you know Look for the French Flag hanging on the outside of the Restaurant. I took the 8th street Crosstown bus going West which you actually pick up on 9th St. and got off at the first stop after Sixth Ave. Then just cross the street and Voila you have arrived.

A wonderful, previously "stealth" vegan (though some real cheese in selected crepes). The vegan mozzarella is astounding. The buckwheat crepes are delicious, and the vegan cassoulet is that die for!

Tucked away in a very small storefront on Christopher is this surprising little French restaurant. The space is tiny, seating about 20 or so people and the feel is a cross in between the Village and something in Paris. There is a wine list and it is tiny as well but the Chardonnay and Merlot were very good. The menu is 100% French and we were skeptical as to if it could be pulled off using only vegan ingredients. The first surprise was the cheese. The Brie Roti Et Fondant Vegetale had a macadamia nut cheese that was possibly the best vegan cheese I have ever tasted. Combined with the baked potato and levin bread it was perfect. My Tournedos Rossini had the "Impossible Food" steak as its main ingredient. This works better as a burger than a steak but none-the-less was delicious on a crouton with a foie gras and black truffle on top. The Crab Pane Au Choux De Bruxelles was just as good and the Orange Creme Brûlée a perfect finish. What they lack in ambiance was made up for with surprisingly good and realistic French food. This little gem is worth a visit for the vegan or the omnivore who would like to have their French food but without the heavy sauces and fat. Call it healthy French...

I always find my way to Delice & Sarrasin when I am in the city! My daughter is vegan, and it isn't easy to find a place this nice with food this good that is all vegan! The atmosphere is delightful, and their new location has an adorable outdoor seating area in back that was perfect for us in August. We ate the Mushroom "escargot", the four "cheese" platter, the strawberry and chocolate crepe, and the Salade Nicoise which had the coolest faux boiled egg I have ever seen, and it had an eggy flavor and texture which made the salad delicious. The bread and cheese are soooo good. They have great cocktails here, which we didn't have for brunch, but I highly recommend. Service is excellent.

This place is really small, and it was packed even after 10pm on Friday when I had my reservation. There was a bit of wait before I was seated. I had the escargot which is fantastic, alas very small, the steak frites which in my opinion was short on flavor, and la bordelaise for dessert, which essentially is a large crepe with a scoop of ice cream on top. I LOVED the dessert. I also got the ratatouille (take away.) In my opinion it was a bit on the salty aide.

visited here with family for a Sunday brunch. Loved the food (try the vegan steak and frites). Very relaxed vibe and not that expensive.

I was most thoroughly impressed with the brie appetizer (trust me, order it), the foie gras and the escargot. The flavour profile of each dish is stunning and each course is an experience. In terms of main dishes, we ordered the steak frites + truffle fries and the beef bourgignon. Fries are really delicious. The 'beef' texture was quite different from the real thing, but the sauce was great. Seating is intimate, given that it is a small restaurant. Would recommend making reservations.

The savory crepes are big, well-made, fresh, lots of variety, and all $15. The dessert crepes are just as big and just as good at $10. Coffee is strong (though I can't quite get why it's served in cups so large that they're just half-filled). The place is small, intimate, pretty. In the heart of the West Village, a perfect spot to have a nice bite and a break from shopping and wandering.

Small yet cost place. Has amazing galettes and the cider is served in traditional bowls. The prices are not high, certainly for the quality you are getting. And to top it all off, the waiter was hot! Conclusion: awesome food with a nice view

We were walking by and decided to stop in. It is a very charming place. Maybe seats for 25-30 people. The menu has traditional crepes and then their speciality crepes. Both sweet and savory. We shared two of the specialty savory crepes. Both were excellent. The service was attentive and very helpful. We were too full to try one of the sweet crepes so we have a great excuse to go back. The crepes cost $10 for traditional and $15 for the specialty. You won't leave hungry. Can't wait to go back.

This french cosine place devote to excellence in taste and execution yet it is all vegan. Beaufborgonione.... escragot and foie grais....at the highest standard. Service is friendly. And deserts so yummi We coming back and back again

One of the best vegan spots in NYC. Everything we tried on the menu was absolutely amazing. The steak tartare végétale is to die for. Hard to pick just one crepe as they are all incredible. Great spot if you are looking for GF options as the crepes can be made gluten-free. The restaurant is small with only a few tables, so make sure to make a reservation.

This was my favorite restaurant in NYC during my weekend trip. I was amazed by the menu choices which mirror typical French dishes, but all the food items are vegan. My husband and I had the beef bourguignon and my daughter had the Tagliatelle aux fruits de mer. We shared the cheese plate Plateau de fromage. For dessert we had the macaroons and the almond milk chocolate cake. I don't remember when I have had food this good! We were all blown away by the dishes which was incredibly prepared and favorable. The portions are generous, too. The restaurant is small, but beautifully decorated and situated on a pretty Greenwich street. The service was perfect! Make reservations and GO!

I was a bit excited to discover this vegan French place in the Village to enable me to finally get a taste of the storied French cuisine. While the French cuisine may be considered the most elegant and refined cuisine in certain quarters, it has always disgusted me for all the dead and killed animals that they use in all forms and shapes. Only the truly depraved could partake in such barbarism. So, trying the vegan version was quite interesting. It turned out to be a damp squib. The place is tiny, though warm and inviting. The menu is varied and has the usual assortment of crepes as well, something that I do not care for. The butternut squash soup was delicious, though a tiny pportion. The mushroom starter was even smaller. My 2 companions had crepes and they were nothing to write about. I had the crab cake which was made from brussel sprouts and lemon rind. It was just average. The total tab for 3 persons for 6 dishes came to over $100 which I found outrageous. Having experienced this, I am now convinced that the Michelin reviwers are totally ignorant about anything to do with good food.

I recently stopped eating meat and was recommended by a friend to try this restaurant. I am glad I did. It was one of the best vegetarian/vegan and French meals that I had. The texture and the aroma can fool you, make you think twice and wonder if you are really not eating meat. I had the escagos, the French onion soup, and the steak frites. Oh and the chocolate cake and green tea for dessert. Yes All vegan!!! Except for feeling fat afterwards, it was a great experience. I will come back for another feast soon.

Went to this tiny restaurant because one of our party is vegan. I was concerned- French food without butter and cream? They pull it off pretty well, but no matter what its still vegan. I liked the "brie" and thought they did a remarkable job with the sauces. Its a good choice if you want vegan, but for me the food just doesnt stand well on its own

We are so lucky! We came without reservation on Saturday and got a table! Love this little charming place. We came specifically for the crapes, so we ordered them. But next time I definitely would order something else – all menu items attracted me. I ordered La Nanane (Roasted Pear, Melted Dark Chocolate, Roasted Almonds, Whipped Cream (coconut?) and my family ordered two La Lolotte - Roasted Banabas, Melted Dark Chocolate, Whipped Cream. I tasted La Lolotte and liked t, but my La Nanane was better – less sweet and tenderness of the pear created the winning combination. The service is excellent, the décor is inviting … highly recommend.

We just stumbled upon this charming little French creperie in the Village. It serves delicious pancakes both sweet and savoury. Fab with a glass of merlot. Good value, I thought. If I was a local I'd be a regular

My wife and I wanted to get a nice lunch prior to catching a show. I wanted to surprise her with a place that might be more "user friendly" to her as a vegetarian. I'm not quite there with the vegans since they seem to be the extremists of the vegetarian sect. While this venue is quite cozy, smaller than my kitchen at home, they do take the French influence quite seriously. We started with a glass of vegan Merlot which was excellent and reasonably priced for NYC ($8.50). My wife ordered the Mediterranean Salad which comes with cubes of vegan chicken, homemade toasted croutons, tomatoes and a tasty balsamic vinaigrette. I ordered the Tartine Club Sandwich which was vegan chicken with vegan bacon, guacamole on toasted rye with vegan mayo. I expected a chicken patty, but the sandwich actually comes with the chicken cubes like the one in the salad. It's served open face which makes it a bit difficult to consume. I did my best to close the sandwich, cut it and eat trying not to be too messy. I must admit I was completely satiated all day. Vegans and vegetarians are usually those who are against eating animal products due to religious, health or humane beliefs. Not sure who would order Foie Gras (should be named Faux Gras). I could only believe it would be recent vegan convert or a non vegetarian who is curious. I would have loved to try it, but why would anyone try something they don't like in its real form just to see if the faux version is close. OK, maybe next time :)

My husband and I visited this creperie and we loved it! We both had Galettes Gourmands. I had a delicious SAINT CHRISTOPHE, galette with spinach, cured ham, roquefort and raisins. My husband had one with Ratatouille and cheese. Both galettes were so flavorful with crispy edges. We had Crepe Suzette for dessert. We saw people at another table having open-faced sandwiches that looked wonderful. The place is small but very clean and charmingly decorated. The service was wonderful. Ever since our trip to France in the spring, we had been looking for a nice authentic creperie. Now we found one! We will definitely be back!

I had brunch at this restaurant. It is very cute and very cozy. The eggs were incredible and I came back again just to have them! The cheese spread is also very nice.

Hands down the best vegan restaurant we have ever visited! The staff and incredible and the food is outstanding! Great location and really cozy atmosphere!

We were excited to learn about this vegan French restaurant, made reservations weeks in advance. It went downhill from there. Some of the worst service we've ever experienced anywhere, mediocre food was truly nothing special, and it was about 90 unbearable degrees in this minuscule restaurant. There is SO MUCH good vegan food to be had in NY, don't waste your time or your money at this place.

What a treat to have a vegan French restaurant in NYC. The crepes are fantastic!!! If you love crepes, there are tons of sweet and savory options and I can't get enough of them. Other favorites include the cheese plate and the truffle fries. I can't wait to explore more of the menu. The atmosphere is a super cute, cozy, and charming little cafe. Nice staff that doesn't rush you. I definitely suggest a reservation for brunch. Word is out about this place. And the word is good.

Terrible service. I have been gluten-free for 12 years and was served the wrong soup. No apology at all from the waiter after I had already eaten part of the soup that was confirmed by him not to be gluten-free. I was also never served the glass of wine that I ordered. Again, no apology. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not return here.

As others have said, this is a small restaurant with very good food. I enjoyed a dinner of Cassoulet Toulousain, red wine (Merlot), and an delicious chocolate cake dessert. The basic ingredient of the entree was white beans, with vegan meats, and a selection of vegetables. The seasoning of this dish was fabulous. I asked the server about the name of the restaurant and he said Sarrasin is a flower they import from France to use as a seasoning. The meal was just perfect, restaurant clean and attractive, service very attentive without being intrusive. If I lived in New York I would eat here often.

I'm not vegan, but every so often I get interested in going somewhere new, especially if I think I'll be able to get a laugh out of it. A laugh was what I got, here, at the kind of place that any real French person would probably be horrified by, but I also got some really solid vegan Foie Gras. HOW?! That's what I wanted to know. I asked the server, a nice boy with expensive-looking shoes that probably won't last super long, and he was a little cagey. I guess the vegan business is cut-throat... knowing how to make tofu and tahini have the taste and mouth-feel of fatted duck-liver is the kind of secret that some chefs must cling to like a secret ancient amulet. And that's more or less how it was. Each new plate brought forth a wave of incredulity. How the heck do they pull it off? I don't know the chemistry of emulsions, nor indeed the chemistry of averting animal cruelty via highly processed sesame product, but the outcome was almost eerily and convincingly, well... French. Small portions impeccably plated and served, an atmosphere somewhere between hipster chique and Bonne Maman, and a vegan wine list that I'm taking one point off for, because it was really vague. Is wine ever not vegan? I asked the server, who said it has to do with filtration. I haven't investigated further. Either way, I didn't eat anything that felt unconvincing a single time, and I seemed to be surrounded by vegans and non-vegans alike, which means that the food here is good enough to bring in the Uninitiated and keep us here. I wouldn't go to this restaurant every week or anything, but it was an experience that I was expecting to be much less pleasing than it was. Well done to the chef and staff.

This was one of our stand out meals in NY. We are both vegans and had located the place to try something different (French Vegan). Absolutely brilliant food - superbly cooked and offered something different. Highly recommended

Quite literally some of the best vegan food I've ever had. My sister (who's not vegan and thought the same) and I visited while on our trip to NYC on a Friday night. We were so lucky they managed to squeeze us in without a reservation and I'm so grateful they did because the food was just amazing. Such a cute and quaint little restaurant that's a serious player when it comes to offering top quality food. The French onion soup was so so good. The 'Steak Tartare' was just divine. Gutted I couldn't sit there all night and make my way through the whole of the menu. I'll certainly be returning when I visit New York again!!

I loved this place! It is a small and cozy little place restaurant with character and charm. The food was delicious and the service excellent. One of my favorite vegan restaurants!

If you are vegan and in New York and you don't go to this place well.... you've missed an experience of a lifetime in vegan culinary treasure. Can you imagine an entire menu of French cuisine made vegan??!! Faux escargot. Faux coq au vin. Faux cheese plate. Faux foie gras. People, when I say this food was amazing I'm probably insulting the chef by an understatement. I was in food heaven. So GO! But be sure to make a reservation well ahead of time and show up on time. Not early because the restaurant is tiny and there is nowhere to wait. Not late because you may lose your table to a walk in. You won't be sorry.

On a sweltering Saturday in the late afternoon, we inadvertently walked right past Delice et Sarrasin because it is such an unobtrusive storefront, although we did notice the amazing and extremely old wisteria out front. Maybe that was what distracted us. We hadn't realized the restaurant was so tiny, so we did not have reservations, and of course,in addition to a handful of other diners, there was a large group having a celebratory lunch. But the waiters were nice and said they would fit us in as soon as they could, probably within 20 minutes, so we waited. And the food was definitely worth the wait. The big draw for me was the promise of vegan buckwheat galettes, which are hard to find. I had the Mr Seguin without the "chicken". I loved the vegan goat cheese and the agave and walnuts. The Emmental was less flavorful. But overall the crepe was tasty and so large that I didn't have room for dessert, which was really disappointing. My friend had the Mr Rabelais, which was also delicious. Really, this restaurant only seats about 20 people, so definitely call ahead.
Amazing French Food Prepared in a Vegan Manner
While in NYC for a conference, we dined here twice. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate with limited seating. It was a delight to enjoy traditional French foods prepared in a vegan manner. We tried several items on the menu- our favorites include the French onion soup (definitely order this!), Coq au Vin, Boeuf Bourguignon, and of course the amazing Foie Gras. Many of the simulated protein substitutes are made from wheat gluten or pea protein. The cafe also had a nice wine list and the prices were very reasonable. The only items that were surprisingly disappointing were the crepes. Although I do not know for certain, I believe that the crepes (the actual pancakes) were pre-made and refrigerated, and the desired filling was simply added to accommodate the various options presented. The crepes were served cold, not hot, and they were unusually very rubbery, and not at all crisp. Additionally, to my palate, the melted dark chocolate and the salted caramel were not pleasing at all. If you are looking for a good traditional French meal prepared in a vegan manner, I encourage you dine here. However, be sure to call in advance and make a reservation.
