Great food and atmosphere

By Ramez Kawar |

Its a must for all visitors to NYC, food is great, atmosphere is great as well. Having being the oldest upscale restaurant in the history of USA makes it even sweeter! Will definitely come back to it when I am back to the USA.

Best steak in NYC

By Jarrod |

Of all the steak I have had in NYC the signature boneless rib eye Delmonico steak was the best by far. As one of the oldest restaurants in the country they has history as a place of true culinary passion and from the table settings to the service you can sense a passion for excellence.   I went in for lunch recently and it was a satisfying meal from start to finish in a refined yet relaxing atmosphere. I loved the marble floor on entrance, paintings on the wall, soft leather seating, as well as the dark wooden elements. So calm and serene inside made you forget you were in a very busy part of the Financial District.   I started with the waiter's recommendation of jumbo lump crab beignets with mustard aioli, something I wouldn't normally order, but was plated beautifully and tasted better than it looked. Next came the main attraction - the signature boneless rib eye Delmonico steak, with the best first bite I've had of any steak. Cooked to perfection and accompanied with a generous serving of whipped potatoes with roasted garlic and Vermont butter.   For dessert, I reveled in the artisanal cheese plate with goat and cow's milk based cheeses. The rich and funky notes cut with the jam, honey and sliced apple were the best ending to a fantastic lunch. I highly recommend Delmonico's and can’t wait to go back!

An Old World Gem

By FMLOT |

Delmonicos did NOT disappoint! It had the class and charm of old world NY that took you back to the early Victorian 1900’s. We enjoyed a wonderful culinary experience as the food was delicious and presented beautifully. Service very good. I highly recommend Delmonicos for a special dinner with family, friends or a romantic night out. Pure elegance!

Order your steak more well cooked than you want.

By Lisa L |

Most of this night was great. However a requested medium steak was served medium rare to rare. Half was left and not even queries as to why. The rest of the evening was lovely.

Out of this world food and ambiance

By T5318XYlindam |

Loved the chandeliers, cloth tableclothes andnapkins and wonderful service The food was really special!!!

Eager to visit this iconic restaurant!

By joolzmadrid |

We were very well received, even though we came in via the wrong entrance! Great atmosphere (fairly quiet for a Friday night, but we were there early). Food was excellent and the service was top notch. We sat in the bar area, where prices are more reasonable. I had the salmon and my friend had the steak. I would definitely go there again.

Not a tier 1 steakhouse in my experience

By Context |

You’d think this would be a safe bet for a great steak with full time professional waitstaff. When I ordered the NY Strip with Pittsburgh char I was met with, “What’s that?” Uh oh. They did not deliver and cooked it the way they wanted to. Sides not special. Not going back.

Historical Gem

By jderb |

Had a work trip to NY and absolutely had to try this gem. Very historical restaurant in a very historical building. Sat at the bar and ordered an off the menu item I have had in the past. Filet with small de-shelled lobster. It was outstanding and the steak was perfectly cooked. Tried it with a glass of Leviathan and it paired well. This place is a must do when in the Financial District! Excellent food with great service!

Great Service and Great Good

By Colingp |

We made this a go to destination after seeing it on TV in the UK. We all had the Classic Burger and it was the most amazing burger I have ever had. There were a lot of great looking options on the menu and looking what was coming out of the kitchen they all looked great too. We dined in the grill bar area, it had a great feel and atmosphere about it, the service was absolutely sot on and the prices very reasonable too. Could not be better, this has to be a must do when in New York.

Exquisite!

By Sue P |

Outstanding food, superb service, beautiful restaurant and good facilities. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for that special occasion. Fine dining at it's very best.

My first impression of Delmonico’s

By Eddie Zoolander |

My first impression of Delmonico’s was wow! This place is the oldest upscale restaurant in the US and the meal is amazing! I’ve tried the Caesar’s salad , BLT sandwich and the grilled chicken salad and must say I will not look at salad the same way again.. YUMMY 🤤!!!SUPER DELICIOUSNESS and not to mention very healthy!! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and freaking AWESOME!!

Outstanding!

By sbass68 |

Everything about our visit to Delmonicos was outstanding. From the minute you walk in you are made to feel welcome and you feel you are in a special place. The food and wine we had was delicious.. The 'Delmonico' Steak is heaven on a plate. Staff first class.

One and done.

By Giuseppe C |

Too much hype. The atmosphere and drinks were fine but the food was mid at best. “Lukewarm” steak and the Lobster Newburgh was pathetic.

Old school elegance

By Peter F |

We had a fabulous dinner at Delmonico. Our server was professional and pleasant. The food was delicious and we ordered from the Restaurant Week menu which was terrific.

Steak signed up and sealed

By LCO |

I do confirm: their signature steak makes it worth coming. I like the classic and a bit uppish atmosphere of this restaurant in the Financial District where you can find families, friends’ reunions, couples of all ages.

Totally lived up to the billing!!

By Sam B |

I had a group of 30 attend an event at Delmonico's and we had a great experience. The food was fantastic, and the price was reasonable! Overall, my whole party loved the venue, the food, and the service. Great bucket list item to check off and to dine at a place that saw and made American History!!

Recommend!

By Vilma T |

The service was great, great respond time, Quick between the orders. I recommend it for families, couples and friends.

Best meat in New York

By Nan G |

BEST MEAT IN NYC. Although the starter was not entirely to my taste, you forget when you arrive the meat, perfect knit, salt, EVERYTHING. Delicious. Huge ration size. Of garnish mashed potatoes that was also DELICIOUS and dessert cheescake, very rich also but NOTHING shades the meat, really EX QUI SI TA. Amazing service, attentive waiters, right, nice place, value for money is justified.

Delmonico’s - Delicious wine and tomahawk steak

By KelvinThelin |

Very nice experience. Historic restaurant. Delicious wine and food. The staff was great. Worth a visit!

Average Experience

By cjw893 |

Restaurant itself is lovely and I was lucky to sit in a spacious booth. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. For appetizers I got the prawns (shrimp) and risotto. The shrimp had absolutely no flavour and was served with what was like a sweet chutney. Risotto was fine. The steaks for main were great! Cooked well for me and full of flavour. Sides were average and lacked flavour. Desserts were good. Overall, I wouldn't go again as for the price and lack of flavour for everything but the steaks, it really wasn't worth it. Plenty of steaks restaurants around NYC, I would try somewhere else.

Always a great option in NYC!

By Travel X |

Delmonico’s never disappoints! My rib eye was prepared to perfection, juicy and tasty…high quality meat without a doubt.

Best steak ever

By Rachael W |

I was excited to dine at the first fine dinning restaurant in the USA but my first impression was disappointed. There was scaffolding round the front so the kerb appeal wasn’t there. Staff greeted us well and took us through the more casual (very loud) bar area and into the finer dinner area. No one (guests) were as dressed up as I’d expect in a fine dining restaurant with a dress code, most in hoody’s and jeans. Staff seemed friendly and attentive enough but nothing worthy of the tip you are meant to give them. Had better service in much cheaper restaurants. The food was fabulous. I had the best and biggest steak of my life.

Always Awesome

By BRH555 |

I had my first meal at Delmonico's at age 8 with my grandparents, continued going here every time I am in NYC. Great steaks and service served in a beautiful dining room.

Superb 10 out of 10

By David W |

We visited Delmonico's in New York and it was truly superb from start to finish. Great service, we had a good corner table. My partner had Local Tuna Tartare which was prepared to perfection and I had the Maple Brook Farms Burrata which was divine! Then grilled asparagus, charred broccoli and roasted onions with wild mushrooms. Stunning Delmonico Potatoes. The wine was delicious and have to say was our best meal in New York since years. Would highly recommend and definitely revisit next time in NYC.

Fantastic meal at Delmonicos.

By Lori P |

Fantastic meal at Delmonicos. Mindy was our server and service was excellent! Steaks were perfect, calamari was great and dessert was outstanding! Old NYC charm. Relaxed atmosphere.

WOW! What all restaurants should strive to be

By Kent T |

We went for lunch, which seems like a good time to go. Same great food and ambiance, not so crowded. This place just oozes class, history and tradition. Three of us went, and each had a different salad. I had the wedge salad, which was great. The three of us shared two filet mignons, which we told them up front, and they were classy enough to bring it on one large platter sliced for us. It was perfectly done and was delicious. Before we had wine with dinner, we all had a bourbon Manhattan, and they were so good we went to the bar after we paid for lunch and had another round. The bartender was as friendly as our waitress had been. The wine list is impressive and the food is even better. Highly recommended!

So disappointed. Don’t bother.

By ktothejay |

I love NYC steakhouses. And Delmonicos history is really amazing. I was excited for my first trip here as I dont make it downtown very often. It’s beautiful inside and out. But I’ve got nothing else good to say. The $140 porterhouse for two was mediocre at best. Medium-rare order came out medium-well. Presentation was haphazard. Scallops were so overcooked they came out split in half. Again - presentation was unimpressive. Service was god awful. Truly embarrassing for an establishment of this level. I never leave a bad tip. And this was around Christmas. I couldn’t in good conscience leave 20%. They didn’t deserve 10%. They were inattentive and often absent. Butter never came after several requests. Wine never came. Glass spilled and no one came to help. Truly an utter disappointment. One bright spot - the king crab ravioli is delicious. Stick with Strip house or even wolfgangs. This was a huge waste of time and money.

Holiday visit did not disappoint

By Jennifer H |

Impeccable service. A gastronomic dining experience. Nicely decorated for holiday season. Very extensive wine “book”. We had several appetizers, Signature Delmonico Steak, Mashed Potato and Asparagus. Everything was excellent!

Fading Glory

By Nick M |

Delmonico's is an institution, and will remain so in the foreseeable future. But the relentless forces of time, economics and demographics all point in one direction: Delmonico's will soon cease to be. Sure, a restaurant with this name will still be there, but not the Delmonico's of legend and tradition. To the point: the food was good, although not exceptional, the service was courteous and efficient and prices were, well, not astronomical. The space remains elegant and slightly quirky and the wine list sports a few reasonably priced items among the $10K-plus bottles of liquid gold. But... ...the place is gradually devolving into a tourist trap. The clientele consists mostly of transient visitors adding the Delmonico's checkmark in their travel list. Nothing wrong with that, but it precipitates the unavoidable touristification of food and prices - screamy "traditional" dishes and indispensable crowd pleasers coexisting uncomfortably in the menu flanked by market-tuned prices. The decor retains some of its original charm, but the heavy crimson drapes that gave the room its somber and robust ambiance when it was mostly frequented by Wall Street dealers have yielded to lighter shades for an airier, if flakier, dining ritual. My advice: go and dine at Delmonico's, as soon as you can. The more you wait, the less of it you will find. After all, this IS history in the unmaking.

Wow

The second best dinner I have ever had. The service was awesome. Very well taken care of. Big Al was great.

OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES IN MY LIFE

By Carlos Castro |

This has been one of the best experiences in my life, that place makes you feel part of history, the service is exceptional, the quality of its food, the warmth of the staff, the variety of its wines and champagne, we asked for a Louise Brison 2015 that recommended us her sommelier, the waiters, captain, and managers all went to ask us that everything was okay at our table, we celebrated New Year’s Eve at Delmonico’s and I would definitely do it again, I will return. Thank you.

Historic New York. Had a Great Evening Out

By Mike1indy |

Delmonico’s is a very historic restaurant and is a must visit for tourists and New Yorkers alike because it takes you back to another era in NYC. Established in the 1830’s, Delmonico’s is the first “formal dining” restaurant in the US and many classic American dishes were created here including lobster Newburg, eggs Benedict, baked Alaska and of course the “Delmonico’s” steak. We started at the bar for a few pre-dinner drinks and then had dinner in the formal dining room. Our dinner was delicious. I had Caesar salad (delicious) and the miso glazed cod which I also enjoyed. The “formal” dining room was fun to dine in because they just don’t make restaurants like this anymore. Delmonico’s is different. Delmonico’s is historic. Delmonico’s is a “downtown” place for those “in the know.” Go and enjoy this restaurant.

Iconic Steakhouse in NYC almost 200 years , for good reason .

By rdmiller_pcj |

No surprise that this place has lasted nearly 200 years . It is fabulous . The venue has been here since 1837 . They invented , The Delmonico cut ( ribeye ) , baked Alaska , eggs Benedict and probably more . Located in the heart of “downtown NY ) . This was my first visit . There with my adult son on a “ boys trip to NYC “:.The room must have been recently renovated . Beautiful . Comfortable . Not huge . Staff is very welcoming and helpful . . Menu is just what you would expect in a first class steakhouse . The service was perfect . The food better than perfect . We split The Delmonico 18 oz. Perfectly prepared steak as well as the sprouts and fries . Everything was over the top great . As was the bread . . Pricey , of course , but well worth it .

New York landmark!

By Ramona R |

We came during restaurant week so unfortunately they were a bit behind on their reservations ( be patient if you come during this time). That being said, once we got seated it was an excellent experience! Food was amazing, service was even better! The drinks were delicious. We ordered the Delmonico steaks - also delicious. Sides and desserts were yummy too. Absolutely no complaints. We had Maja as our server. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She made our experience memorable. We will be definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Wedding Anniversary visit

By Darryl M |

My wife and I attended last night for our anniversary. The staff were fantastic, their attention to detail and friendliness was exceptional. The food was also at a different level, I had the lobster cocktail followed by the signature Ribeye, I love steaks and have never tasted anything like this!! Possibly the best meal I have had in all my 58 years.

If you want great food and quiet romantic ambiance, this is your place

By kkckoud731 |

I've been to the Delmonico's in Vegas, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Great food and crazy over the top prices. But what frustrated me, is that we told them we had a show to get to, and the service between appetizers and main course was incredibly slow. We had 10 minutes to guzzle $250 worth of food. So it really ruined the whole experience. Would I go back? Probably, but if you have a show to get to, it would be a hard pass or give yourself three hours.

Early New Years Eve Dinner

By Laurie Z |

There were 5 of us for a 7pm dinner. The restaurants was very festively decorated. We took some family pictures in front of the fireplace. We ate it all! Caesar salads, soup foie gras, a filet, a delmonico steak, and a porterhouse, delmonico potatos onion rings, brussell sprouts, spinach and 4 of the 5 deserts offered! Not a crumb left. All scrumptious. We were so impressed, and interested in the history of the restaurant and the recipes, I bought two books.... Dining at Delmonico's and Ten Restaurants That Changed America. Definitely worth the trip to Wall Street.

Best steak of my life

By Ben T |

This was the best steak I have had in my life, and I’ve enjoyed a lot of steaks! The setting is classical and the wine list sensational. The New York bakes cheesecake topped it off as a truly memorable birthday dinner.

Glorious steaks... but no ApplePay!

By OliwaVasicek |

First visit ever to this legendary meat palace. Perched myself at the bar and had an amazing signature delmonico which was exactly how I hoped it would be. Couldn't fault it. Accompanied by a half-bottle of fantastic Napa Cab Sauv, a fantastic meal. Bar staff were lovely even though the bar area was very busy and had a high amount of footfall.

New Years dinner - good quality food, bad waitering

By Sean700 |

Had a dinner in Delmonicos for New Year's Eve with my wife. I'd heard great things and the food did not disappoint. One of the best steaks I've had. It was expensive, which I expected and was happy to pay. The only thing is that the waiters seemed to be very amateur. They mixed up my dessert and our wine orders, spilled half a glass of champagne all over our table when trying to refill a glass, and routinely yanked away our plates as soon as they thought we had finished (even if we were still chewing!). None of this was a deal breaker but I was a bit peeved when they automatically added 20% service to our bill, given the sup par service we received.

Excellent filet

By Bobbarrenger |

This is a top notch steakhouse experience. Filet was served rare as ordered. Tender and juicy. Mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth. I really liked the Caesar salad too — it comes with a nice amount of dressing and a soft egg on top. Service is excellent.

Top Notch Traditional Steakhouse

By abd1958 |

This is a NY classic - 180 year old steakhouse. Food (all al la carte as you’d expect in this category restaurant) was excellent - had filet with Blue Cheese topping. Service was excellent too.

Great steak experience!

By Miriam M |

On a recent visit to New York we had dinner in Delmonicos . The staff were excellent. Helpful and informative. The food was first class . Our daughter had the steak and she said it was the best ….ever . A memorable foodie experience!

Fabulous meal

By RRA |

This old world steakhouse did not disappoint. Steaks were excellent - cooked perfectly to our respective likings. It was food week so the three course meal was a real bargain. Baked Alaska dessert was amazing. Thanks for a memorable visit!

Great Business Expense Account Dining

By David C |

Excellent place for closing a business deal. Quiet. Service, food and drink beyond reproach. Pricing commensurately high, but as long as you're expensing it, worth it for c-suite and other executives. As noted in a different recent review, the wine listing is extremely refined with some excellent rarer vintages, but the markup is fairly extreme. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked and the appetizers and sides were varied and delicious. Minimal choices for non-veg eaters, an unusual short-coming for a business-focused high-end restaurant.

My NYC favourite

By ian M |

I have always been a fan of steak and on a trip to this historic city with my partner I wanted to visit an iconic steakhouse…. and Delmonicos did not disappoint ! We had some great starters including the wedge salad and the caramelised bacon… yum ! As a main we shared the Delmonicos Porterhouse with some amazing red wine. The staff were superb and attention to detail was perfect ! Thank you so much !!

Underwhelmed and Over Charged - You Pay for Its History

By Tumi-NYC |

Having worked and lived in the downtown NYC area many years I must have walked by Delmonico’s dozens of times and knew about its history. Reading the many PR articles about its reopening, my wife and I decided to give it a try to celebrate her birthday. To be honest we were a bit underwhelmed. Yes, the room was nicely decorated and the service and food were both good, but all in all it is just a NYC steakhouse that leverages its history - and you are paying for its history and the associated hype. I was thinking everyone would be nicely dressed, but there were guys wearing baseball caps, jeans and sneakers. I guess times have changed. What put me off was the excessive prices and the hidden charges that they stuck on the final bill. Paying $79 for their signature Delmonico steak and $75 for their Dover Sole was expected and wasn’t a surprise. Bottom line – If you are expecting to pay premium prices, expect to pay even more than your expectation (Baked Alaska - $24, side of asparagus - $17, wedge salad - $26). Here’s what I found annoying. I ordered two glasses of champagne without looking at the wine list and figured the charge would be maybe $20 a glass. How about $44 a glass. I was quite unpleasantly surprised (especially when a whole bottle is about $50). I also found it annoying that I was sneakily charged an extra $15 because I used my credit card to settle the bill. That’s right, the prices on the menu are if you pay cash and if you pay with a credit card, they tack on an extra percentage. Come on. It reminded me of a gas station that teases you with a price per gallon for cash and you end up paying more to use your card. Talk about being nickeled and dimed. Fortunately there was no charge to use the men’s room. Living and working in NYC we have our choice of Michelin starred restaurants (if you are lucky enough to score a reservation) and have eaten in many. When I compare the Delmonico’s experience to the likes of Le Bernardin or Daniel, Delmonico’s doesn’t come close.

Amazing service

By Zebbyjr |

From the minute you walk in the staff is so very kind and nice. The atmosphere is old school steakhouse - done very tastefully and clean. The wine choice was excellent. The signature Delmonico’s ribeye did not disappoint - really good steak. The sides, though, were not very good. Giving a 5 star as they accidentally threw away our leftover steak that we planned to take home so they just made us a whole new one to take home! It was so nice!

Incredible meal at Delmonico’s!

By McAteer & Will - Keller Williams RE |

We took a break from selling real estate to visit NYC, and this is where we ate—Delmonico’s, a true New York classic. The atmosphere was elegant, the service was impeccable, and the filet mignon was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. If you’re looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience, Delmonico’s is a must-visit!

Excellent steaks

By KasoViajero |

Had dinner here with two colleagues; we were all equally impressed with the quality of the steaks - highly recommended. Certainly not the cheapest option to have a steak, but the cost-quality ratio is right; apart from the food, the service was also efficient, friendly, and helpful - a well-rounded, positive experience.

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

By nicolejade |

I’ve never in my life been more embarrassed than when me and my partner visited here. It was our first time in NY and after months and months of researching and checking reviews, we decided on Delmonico’s for our anniversary meal. We knew it was going to be a real ‘splash the cash’ sort of meal, but when in New York we didn’t mind. We were seated fast, we arrived early so didn’t get our reservation in the main restaurant but didn’t mind sitting in the lounge. Food was good, service was ok…It’s when the bill came that the problems started. Our bill came to $509 (1 salad starter, 2 rib eyes, 3 sides, 3 sauces, 1 beer, 1 bottle of wine, 1 dessert and 2 cocktails)… only when handing over the bill did they inform us we could only pay by cash or physical card. Nowhere on our booking confirmation, their own website or before you sit down to dine do they make you aware that you cannot pay with Apple Pay. Myself and my partners heart sank, we didn’t have a physical card on us, we only had $200 in cash which we set aside to pay a cash tip. We informed the waitress that the only means of paying was via Apple Pay… she left for a couple of minutes and came back telling us there was nothing they can do and they wouldn’t accept Apple Pay. My partner said we do have a card but it’s at the hotel (behind reception as the security deposit) which is a 45 minute subway away. Another member of staff came over and told us that I would have to remain seated at the table and my partner had to leave me there alone to go and get the card to pay. I was absolutely disgusted and in complete shock that this was happening. This was myself and my partners first time in America/New York so the subways were new to us and we didn’t properly know our way around. To have him leave for 45 minutes each way to get a physical card whilst I had to sit and remain at the table completely embarrassed by the situation and also wary to be left in a foreign country on my own is just disgusting. My partner called me 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant that he hadn’t even made it on subway yet as the one we used was closed so he was lost somewhere. I got up to go to the toilet and asked another member of staff if there was anything else we could do as my partner was going to be at least 1.5 hours and I didn’t want to be on my own at a restaurant for that long. I explained the situation again, that I had money to pay but it was on my Apple Pay. I explained that nowhere does it say you cannot pay by Apple Pay… I had him and the waitress stood over me by the till whilst my APPLE PAY WORKED!!! Why on earth they couldn’t have just tried that in the first place and saved us the utter embarrassment of being made out like we couldn’t pay our bill and the anger of them making me sit alone for up to 2 hours I’ll never know! It had taken over 20 minutes to come up with a simple solution. After all this I was asked TWICE if I wanted to leave a tip… are you joking?? To add insult to injury, we paid $25 dollars each for two cocktails at the end of the meal and my partner didn’t even drink his as they made him leave to get the card… still charged for it even though it remained sat on the table! I will NEVER recommend a place that could make their customers feel that kind of way, especially with the amount the meal cost. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Yes the food was good but it’s the same as I’ve eaten in other steak houses…. Oh and don’t forget CASH or PHYSICAL CARD… even though they clearly do accept Apple Pay as it went through straight away. What a way to ruin a trip. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Disappointing. Won't go back.

By lindarlou |

Delmonico's has been on my list for years. I have been to all the big & small steakhouses in NYC and I'm sad to say that I was underwhelmed. Burata was dry and bland. Filet Mignon was tough, really fatty, and dry. Cheesecake was dry and tasteless. I was shocked considering the price.

Guilded Age Date Night

By The O’Neals |

Spending a few days in the city with my husband. We are history buffs and fans of the Guilded Age. A wonderful dinner. I think truly the best filet I have ever had. Seated well, have a drink at the bar. Beautiful and glad we got to experience it. Nothing like it in Kentucky!

Still A great steak in a beautiful setting

By shellyf |

We had the Porterhouse for 2. It was cooked perfectly and nicely sliced off the bone. The waiter could have served a few pieces. We opted for the hash browns, just ok, and creamed spinach, delicious. The steak melted in your mouth. Moist and very tasty. Our starters were the salad, which was very good, and the snails with mushrooms, also very good. Service was good.

Delmonico's

By Nancy C |

We arrived at Delmonico's without a reservation but were welcomed and shown a table immediately. What a treat as we were seated in a beautiful room in a very classy setting. We ordered the Power Lunch and were not disappointed. The steak was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The service was impeccable. We enjoyed some wine with our meal. I would highly recommend!

Get there early

By 973B |

Haven’t been here in many years but I took a colleague out as a thank you and let them pick the venue The entree I chose was branzino which was served hot and it was a great portion. It came with mushrooms and I expected a few for flavoring but it was covered which surprised me because mushrooms and fish have the same texture so I pushed them aside and enjoyed the fish. My colleague ate a steak and said it was very very good Service was great to begin with when we arrived at noon but as the restaurant got busier we couldn’t get much attention The decor and lighting of the place is very dated and busy. With so much going on with paintings and patterns I would have felt more comfortable with dimmer lighting as it was dizzying

Perfection to say the least

By Adam Heise |

I come here frequently before Rangers games, and the owner is always there to greet us in our jerseys. You really aren't going to find many restaurants of this value. Incredible food, and a luxurious atmosphere. Come here when in NYC. You will never forget the experience.

Just Okay

By Robert H |

Met some friends there for dinner, 5 total. Drinks were great, food was okay for the price. All in all just feels like an overpriced steakhouse.

Ask for a table upstairs.

By Sidji |

NYC is a wash with steak houses charging top top dollar for dinner. Delmonico’s is the original and still holding its old world charm. The delmonico rib eye for me was better than many expensive dry aged steaks, I have had in NY and at $51 I think was good value compared. Fillet mignon was also delicious. The dining is lovely and always buzzing, make sure you book and ask for a table upstairs. Our server was nice and cordial but needed to be a little more engaged imho. If you are lucky enough to dine during restaurant week you can have a three course meal for under 50 bucks. Try out the asparagus carbonara as your side dish. Finally for dessert just stick to the famous baked Alaska!

Be careful with your bill

By Bolan Chao |

As a tourist we know we should give tips to the waiter. To my surprised the bill is calculated already with 20% tips and all i have to do is sign the bill ....be careful people. the service of Johnny is not that good and not friendly at all, after he took the drinks order my wife politely tell him that she will have cappucino later with dessert, he answered back impolitely “ why you are telling me now! “ tell me later, is this the attitude of johnny toward the guests or only us? We’ve been to lots of fine dining restaurant even Michelin star but if your waiter attitude is like this , more and more bad comments will come to your restaurant soon. Disappointed & sleepless in New York

Don't waste your time or $$. Underwhelming Experience

By Marc S |

Do not waste your $$, very overrated and truly an underwhelming experience. Everything from the food to the service was average. There are so many great steak houses in NYC, unfortunately this isn't one of them. Very disappointing

staff needs to tell the stories!

By 502ericaf |

street parking it was pretty easy to find parking after 9pm this is an upscale steak house, they have a bar room area where there are also booths, the bar room is more casual for after work gatherings and light meals. the main room is the upscale area. BTW, This is the oldest restaurant in the united states!!! Service is really l bad at first. The waiter had to be called for us to have a chance to order drinks..... after waiting 35 minutes for him to come on his own. Also he wanted us to order the meal all together, he was rushing through all the orders... I was not even done and he was walking away. It's almost like they treat you different during restaurant week. That is the worst thing you can do as the week is to lore people to come back and tone so far NOT GOOD. We also got to see waiters correcting the bussers in the middle of the floor, to me in this class of venue you do not call attention of other employees in front of the customers it is extremely unprofessional. after a while I think the waiter checked himself and got a little better and more polite. The restaurant week is a sham here, they uncharge a lot of the stuff on the restaurant week menu. What a disappointment, steakhouse, they clearly did not want to participate on the event in good spirit, it was very difficult to experience the place with good food as most of the iconic items were up-charged. APEROL- love this aperitif drink the serving here is pretty great. They do give out complementary bread for the table with plenty of butter for all in the table, so no fighting over one little plate of sugar. LOBSTER BISQUE- what an amazing soup, it has a hint of coconut cream I wanna say, but also resembles curry, idk what it was but it was pretty amazing, on the down side, there isn't that much actual lobster in it. SIRLOIN- came with a side of cauliflower and mash potatoes, it was pretty great. The stake came cooked as I asked the sides were also amazing tasting CRAB MAC AND CHEESE- amazed with the mac and cheese, the right amount of salt and the pasta was cooked perfectly, I never thought I would say this but the cheese crust was a bit too much but the sauce and the spices omg they know how to use seasoning here. Baked Alaska - they charged extra!!! But! Worth it!!! The banana flavor, the ice cream and the merengue omg!!! I am in love, this is definitely a MUST have in this place in the end we were happy, the food was good and the service got better. I did wish that we got a better beginning when we came in, only later we had a nice employee telling us the history of the place. they need to work a bit on the angle that this place has a lot of story and people want to know. it would have made my experience a lot more meaningful.

Delmonico's has a heart!

By Ellen B |

My siblings and I went to Delmonico's to celebrate what would have been our parents 63rd wedding anniversary. Our parents died last year, and this was our way of reminiscing and honoring their love. They were married in a church nearby and then had their wedding party in Delmonico's in 1956. The staff at Delmonico's went above and beyond! They escorted us to the Board Room, told us they were touched by our story, and even created a Baked Alaska which read Happy Anniversary 1956! The steaks were delicious, the filet mignon tender, succulent, perfect, the cured bacon appetizer left us all drooling. The shellfish appetizer was fresh and plentiful. Albert our waiter was attentive, warmhearted, and one step ahead of us! Every meal, side dish, drink and dessert were spot on. I am now a lifelong fan of Delmonico's!!!

Manager tried to convince us the burnt was just crisp

By Ross T |

Three of six dishes were burnt: crab cake, hash browns, and rice something. The hash browns were mashed potatoes with some weird seasonings, turned into a large hockey puck any the burnt. The 1lb lobster was more like the 4oz sold at supermarkets. Even the bread was inedible. Used to be a favorite place. Now on the when hell freezes over list.

Amazing dinner!

By andrew r |

Had high expectations that were met in every way. It is pricey (probably $60 plus per person) but was amazing. I had the delmonico steak which was deliciously cooked and needed nothing else to make it so. The delmonico potatoes were delicious, but I could feel my arteries clogging a bit. Sides are big enough to share in case you are wondering. My wife had the lamb chops which she loved. The Benedict burger tasted like ground filet mignon. Deserts were also fantastic. The service was above great and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed it.

Unique and a great dining experience

By ericmarxer |

Delmonico's New York City You'll have to take a look if you're around. Absolutely the hammer and the prices are reasonable for what is offered. The founders of Delmonico’s came from Ticino (Switzerland) in the 19th century. We happened to go in and it was just great. There is always room for 2 people, but if you are more than one person, reserve. It also has romantic side rooms that are not quite as large and noisy as the main room. Service & food, top class!

DO NOT EAT HERE WITH GOOD ALLERGIES

By Margaret B |

Completely disregarded my sons food allergies. They served my child food he couldn't eat twice. Each time the waiter assured me it was fine for him to eat because he had noted the allergy's. Croutons and breadcrumbs on salad for wheat allergy. I caught that one took him 15 minutes to bring new safe salad. Dinner we ordered him lamb chops no pistachios as he has a nut allergy. He set it down said it was fine and I looked my kid was eating it and there was pistachio dust all over it. He had an allergic reaction. They appologized but made very light of it. Literally could have killed my child and they were like oh sorry we will note for next time. Meanwhile it was noted, it was ordered without any allergy ingredients (no croutons no pistachios) and the waiter was made aware of all his allergy's. I would never eat here again. I do not trust them. Incompetent with food allergies.

Simply perfect

By S M |

Wonderful dining experience. We had the signature Delmonicos ribeye; it was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent; highly attentive. Atmosphere was perfect; one could feel the history in the restaurant. We had arrived 15minutes too early ahead of our reservation - but that was no problem for the staff; they sorted our table with no delay and we were immediately seated. Upon leaving, we wanted a couple of souvenir glasses and a Delmonicos apron; the staff were so kind and helpful in arranging this. As we were heading out, the staff were incredibly warm and friendly to speak with. Overall, we were made to feel so very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Highly recommend. Will definitely return. Dined Saturday 9th November 2019.

Belated Birthday Dinner

By TheBarbieRN |

We went on a belated birthday trip to NYC but I really wanted some where special to treat my folks. And this was a treat! Everything was delicious. My mom hates “things” in her Mac and cheese but she didn’t notice it would have lobster in it. She was surprised and I was surprised that she loved it!!! I got one bite of it and that was it! My mash potatoes was divine! But let’s talk about the steaks! TO DIE FOR!!! So delicious! Crazy this was the last place we went to before covid-19 put us all in quarantine. I’m glad this was my last outing. Thank you!

outstanding

When you first enter this restaurant and the maître takes you to your table you feel you are entering a diferent time period. When the waiter comes to you for your selections of he will explain and ask how you would your food. The service and food was five stairs

Every time we fly up to the city, we dine here. Always a treat.

Cannot praise this elegant restaurant enough Five stars!!! The absolute best. Would highly recommend to all our friends and family.

Historical Steakhouse Doesn't Miss!

By Marisa |

My friend and I decided to hit NY for a quick weekend trip to see some shows on Broadway and I was able to snag a reservation for this historic place. No clue that it was restaurant week but we loved the menu options. We eat got a ribeye, which was huge and sooooo tender, a side and a couple of drinks. The service was impeccable and we really enjoyed the ambiance.

Exceptional

By VBE74 |

In addition to diving back into the world of John Wick (façade of the Continental hotel), you then discover a very cozy 1920-1930 atmosphere room Then you taste the signature steak which easily makes you Gallaghers! The wine list is sumptuous as are its prices but this is classic in NY Unmissable and highly recommended

Great and fine dinner

By ALEX C |

We tried this place for the first time and we really enjoyed the quality of the food. Service was ok. I was expecting more finesse but it was ok. Really, you go there to enjoy and great piece of steak. Go hungry since the portions are generous.

Fabulous experience

By chrisv94 |

My wife and I grabbed an early dinner at Demonicos on a Sunday. We enjoy eating at the bar, which provides a full dining room menu as well as a bar specific option. Our dinner was nothing short of amazing. Steak cooked to perfection, incredible melt in your mouth bacon appetizer, and a chicken entree my wife swore was one of the best gluten and dairy free entrees she's had in her life. What's more was the incredible service we received from Rose and Edilberto at the bar. They were so personable and attentive that we look forward to returning to chat with them just as much as much as we look forward to the food. If you are able to snag a seat at the bar and they are on shift, you will be extremely well taken care of! Can't wait to return!

Great Experience!

By Chris Anthony |

Delmonico's has been on my bucket list for years, so once they opened back up, I made reservations right away. I wasn't going to miss out. With all the history, elegance, and hype about Demonico's, I was hoping that it lived up to expectations. Well, I took my two sons there last night, and they far exceeded our expectations. Between the three of us, we ordered the Signature Delmonico (Rib Eye), the bone-in New York Strip steak, and the filet mignon. They were absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection! We knew that the steaks were going to be good, but we were really surprised with how great everything else was. For appetizers, we had the Ceasar salad, braised octopus, and crab cakes. First of all, the Ceasar salad is nothing like a normal Ceasar salad. It's like a Ceasar salad on steroids. A flavor explosion, and yes, I'm talking about a salad. I love octopus, and the braised octopus was fantastic. As far as the crab cakes, I didn't even know that crab cakes could taste that good. The three of us couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. For sides, we ordered the creamed spinach, pommes puree, and the grilled asparagus, which were good. Then came dessert. We had to try the baked Alaska, which I never had before and was really good. We also had the cheesecake, which my sons liked, but I'm not a big fan of cheesecake. What really did me in was the Three Chocolate Mousse. I'm a big chocolate cake guy, and I am usually disappointed. This dessert was so amazing that I almost ordered a second one. It was really light and flavorful, with a nice crisp to it. All of that with a nice glass of Cabernet, and it was a perfect dinner. Now for a place like Delmonico's, you are also going her for the experience. The icing on the cake was our waiter, Albert. Albert was awesome, and really made our stay enjoyable. He treated us like old friends. He has been there for a while and is very knowledgeable. He made suggestions and made sure our first visit to Delmonico's is something that we will remember for a long time. The general manager also came over to our table to make sure our dinner was great. It was everything that we hoped it would be!

Great Steak.

By Jamie C |

We celebrated our son's 21st birthday here at his request. We had two versions of steak, chicken and scallops, appetizers and drinks. The service was stellar and the atmosphere was calm and soothing. My husband dropped his knife and within seconds there were three people ready to give him another. A glass was never empty at the table and all our questions were answered with joy and enthusiasm. All the meals came out at the same time and were dressed their best. My son's 45 day dry aged steak was the star of the night and well worth the trip according to him and my husband. The sides are served separately but aren't really needed as the portion sizes were rather large leaving us all with leftovers for the next day. I wish we had planned better and saved room for dessert, next time! Thank you for a great night.

Wow

After a perfect, juicy, flavorful Delmonico’s rib eye signature steak and mashed potatoes with wedge salad starter, it’s no wonder Lincoln and JFK dined here. They don’t ride on the laurels of their wreath. They strive for perfection and attain it!

Great meal nice staff

By cegdoyle1 |

Made a reservation for dining room but ate in bar. Cozy for a solo traveler. Was greeted by very nice hostess. Waiter was great as well. Attentive and helpful but not intrusive. Had lobster Caesar salad and small filet. Ordered a cocktail and wine by glass. Everything under $100 for one. Would recommend if you want traditional and atmosphere.

Disappointing experience

By Berskha |

I was hoping to find an elegant and quiet place and what I found to my surprise was a noisy atmosphere more like a tavern. It was difficult to talk with your companions The light was cozy with table lamps but unfortunately I was recriminated by the waiter when I turned on the flashlight of my mobile to read the letter, however it seems that the screams of the customers of the next table were less annoying And they definitely don't like mobile phones because they don't accept payments with mobile Sketchy menu, little variety

Best. Steak. Ever!

By Smith435 |

My husband, 14 year old son and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation time, and were seated immediately. The service was impeccable. And the food?! My husband and I both ordered the classic Delmonico ribeye. Cooked to perfection! I had the king crab mac and cheese, and it was to die for. Husband had the asparagus, and it was excellent. The sauce for the asparagus was very light with a hint of orange, delicious! My son had the lambchops, and he hardly said a word through dinner, he was too busy cleaning his plate! (Worth noting, I took my leftovers home... ate them 2 days later, and it was "almost" as good as when it was served.) We enjoyed everything about our dining experience, and HIGHLY recommend. Looking forward to eating here again.

Had wanted to visit Delmonicos just as the pandemic hit in March 2020. Nice that they finally have reopened this week after lots of legal wrangling with their partners and landlord. Fabulous meal ! Dennis knows how to run a restaurant ! Lovely experience.

Dine in style

What an amazing place I hear it one of the oldest and most best steak houses in NYC. I want to say this is the best steak house I have been to in years. The service was great but the food was even better.

Early closing!

Any restaurant worth its salt should be open till a decent hour especially one like this which is out of the way and despite arriving before 10pm was unceremoniously informed that the kitchen was long closed !

LOVE DELMONICOS

By SeanTravelz |

This is the best restaurant in the world in my opinion I got the steak tartar, ice cream, IPA draft beer, caesar salad and fries, it was just amazing, the service is the best in the city and what history

Lovely but sad

By Coldcaseguy |

Food and service were excellent. Ambience was great. Now for my rant, the Domenico's experience is diminished by some of the clientele. It was sad to see that even Delmonico's has had to relax their dress code. It seems that when the dress code goes, the clientele's manners soon follow. I miss the days when gentleman helped a lady with her chair, stood when she left the table, conversation was in hushed tones and so on. Fine, if that makes me a snob so be it, I'm old too

Loved the atmosphere

By mer4555 |

You could immediately tell you were entering an historical building with lots of history. There were many large groups so many business, entertaining parties. The steak was wonderful but large enough to split. I'm a pretty big eater and I couldn't eat half of my Delmonico steak. The sides easily served 2-3. I just wish they would have split our bills. I know it's more work for them but we will return to those restaurants who will accommodate us and this one wouldn't.

Classic New York Restaurant

By giuliablue |

I had a great meal here at Delmonico's on my trip in NYC. The venue is absolutely wonderful and classic. The food is delicious and there is an excellent beverage selection. The only let down were the wait staff who although I found to be knowledgeable and competent, were a little impatient. Otherwise it was an excellent experience which I recommend.

Perfect Steak and Staff

By Peter B |

This is the best steakhouse I have ever been. The steak was cooked to perfection and the staff was so kind, friendly and professional. Visiting Delmonico's was a great experience for me. I give my highest recommendations.

Best of the Best!

By alexgo2013 |

Was excited to go and celebrate both my anniversary and my son's birthday at the recently reopened and legendary Delmonico's. It not only did not disappoint but exceeded my expectations and is beyond the best of the best Steakhouse of NYC. Everything we ordered was sensational but i have never had bacon like they have prepared it. It was like butter! Don't forget to order desert as they are equally delicious.

Dreaming about next visit

By stevecH6080CC |

This was the best meal I've had in a long time. Eat out regularly and usually dissapointed. I find either the food is bad or there is not value. Delmonico's is expensive but it is worth it. There were four people in our party. We started with drinks which were made to perfection. My drink was a Manhattan with Woodford Reserve, delicious and strong. We all ordered the Delmonico Steak because it's the best. The spinach and asparagus were cooked just right, by an expert. We topped off the meal with the Baked Alaska. Everyone loved their meal. The cost with tip was $215.00 per couple. Whenever I think of the meal I can't wait to go back. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is excellent and friendly. Our waiter was Victor. This is the second time Victor was our waiter. Next time I go to Delmonico's I'm going to request Victor. Very, very happy with the Delmonico's experience for the second time.

Too salty

By Jian |

I was there for birthday dinner gathering. It was during restaurant week. I had the Delmonico steak. I give a grade of F. Texture and level of rareness was fine but it was extremely salty. It was cooked poorly. Others who had the same dish felt the same way. Appetizers and desserts were fine and well presented.

Delicious!!!

By Mike M |

The great: Service attentive but not overbearing. Patient with us since we weren’t in a rush. Drinks-great wine selection all housed on iPad. Food-Delicious. I had the Delmonico. Cooked to perfection. My wife loved the fillet. Sides were great. Loved the tuna tartare. We were so full we passed on desert. Beautiful dining room. That being said we were comfortable in very casual clothes. Highly recommended

One of the best eats in new york ever.

By Dream61007314502 |

Wow, wow and wow. From start to finish, the customer service is exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Every course was a delight. The ambience is just right. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody. The portions are gigantic (which was a shock) so bring your appetite. They have a large and varied wine list with ample wines available by the glass so after 2 cosmopolitans and 2 glasses of champagne we only had room for a bottle of Sancerre. The champagne was delicious and one I had not heard of before so I wish I could remember the name. Bottom line, it’s my new must go to restaurant in New York.

Terrible

By John S |

My wife and I went there for our anniversary. She ordered a filet mignon medium rare w d it came out rare. When we got home she got sick and today she has food poisoning. I have been to many top rated restaurants, including Michelin stars across the country. What a terrible experience.

Disappointing

By casualdiner90 |

Delmonico’s has a nice atmosphere and the staff was nice upon entering. The problems began with the table service. I ordered the shellfish cocktail (supposedly shrimp, crab, lobster) but it arrived without shrimp. I did get the shrimp after asking; however, it seems at a place like this I shouldn’t have to ask. Furthermore, the shellfish cocktail was not particularly good. My wife and I ordered the lobster and an aged ribeye steak with some sides and a bottle of nice wine. My wife’s lobster arrived Newberg style (and I specifically guarantee she didn’t order it that way). The waiter should have never made an assumption or mistake like that; if there was uncertainty he should have returned to ask. My wife asked if they could prepare it steamed anew. The waiter said “well, they can put it back in the water for a couple of minutes to rinse it off”. Let me say this a TERRIBLE approach. First, the newberg taste remained. Second, when the lobster returned it was over done and rubbery. We didn’t feel like kicking up too much fuss when we were trying to enjoy a nice night out. In retrospect, I should have demanded a new order or asked to speak with the manager. Generally the server was inattentive after we received our entrees. For a $600 meal after tip, I have to say we were very disappointed. We will not return. And I suggest that anyone looking for a fine dining experience should seek a different restaurant.

Disappointed

By ANDRE B |

Very disappointed! The dining experience was pleasant and the staff were lovely. However, the oysters and shrimp appetizer was nothing to write home about. The main course was embarrassing ( warm to cold rib eye, lobster Newburgh was tiny at MP and drowning in a tarragon sauce, which was not appetizing at all). When the staff approached us How did we enjoy our meal? We were honest the waiter said, why didn’t you return it ? We replied, from experience we do not like returning our food. The matri D was not accepting of our sentiments! They offered two desserts thinking it would pacify us. Six people $1200. We will not be returning.

WOW - the most memorable meal of this NYC trip

By LisaMDL |

We chose this restaurant for one of our dinners in NYC based on the historic 'attraction' of it being the first fine dining restaurant and the clutch of menu items that had first appeared or been created at Delmonico's. We were on a walking tour a few days earlier and they spoke at length about this restaurant and so that made us equally excited to visit and work our way through those famous signature dishes, but also a little worried it might be a total tourist trap. Don't get me wrong: It WAS packed with tourists, of which we are two!!, but it didn't feel at all like a tourist trap. It's hard to know if local New Yorkers would go there - I'd like to think so. We were looked after impeccably by our waiter - a dear, smiling, hard-working and more mature fellow who was just wonderful and attentive, as all staff were. I could not possibly rate one of the dishes we had higher than the other - all exceptionally good, so 10/10 to each of: Crispy Oyster Jim Brady, Lobster Newburg, Delmonico's steak and Baked Alaska. We both wanted to try the steak and the lobster and so it was no issue for them to half each dish and bring them out on two plates, one after the other - perfect! The dishes are American sized but the side dishes are just outrageously big - it felt a shame to leave 2/3 of each of the chips and asparagus sides untouched. We think a definite must do in NYC....and, on reflection, MAYBE, just maybe, the Baked Alaska was the pick of the dishes!! YUM.

Famous steakhouse patronized by Abe Lincoln, Mark Twain,Tesla, Dickens, JFK and mire

By lesliebauman |

This steakhouse opened in 1837. Great ambiance. I had the steamed lobster which was enormous and quite reasonable at $50. Hubby had the steak Delmonico of course and we shared. Excellent. Great sides. Extensive wine menu and wonderful service. A must at least once in NYC if not more.

Timeless Elegance with a Modern Sophisticated Touch

By Gina E |

Delmonico’s is iconic—a stunning, historic gem. The dry-aged bone-in ribeye is a must-try, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Pair it with their crispy, buttery hashbrowns, and you’re in heaven. Service? Impeccable. A true NYC classic!

By Trvln Man |

We had a terrific dinner at Demonico’s! The service was outstanding, the food was high quality and well-prepared. Overall, I would return in a heartbeat, and am already planning my next visit. A few tips: The bar is inside, not close to the front door, and a great place to have a cocktail and - if you are dining alone on a business trip, this would be a great place for dinner. The wine list is huge; they really should post it on line, so that you can peruse it in advance of your visit. When the waiter or sommelier arrives a few minutes after being seated, that’s not enough time to digest dozens of pages and make thoughtful decisions. For the men, wear a blazer or jacket. It’s a nice place; look the part. They use an AI bot if you call their phone line. I called and asked it to make a modification to my reservation. It was friendly, but ultimately unable to do so. So, set your expectations accordingly. AI may be coming fast, but that doesn’t mean it’s ready for prime time.

CLASSIC NYC STEAKHOUSE LIVING UP TO REPUTATION

By Jim F |

9 family members visiting NYC joined 2 family members who live in Manhattan for our first visit to Delmonico’s. Definitely lives up to its reputation as one of the best in NYC. Over the years we have visited many well known quality steakhouses in NYC and Delmonico’s ranks as one of the best. We had dinner in the private Boardroom. Service was excellent, food was excellent and drinks and wine followed suit. Expensive but not anymore than comparable steakhouses.

Solid Experience, Amazing Food

By Noel B |

Celebrated a 30th birthday and it was nothing short of amazing! Good service but not rushed. Everything we ate was fabulous. Steaks, Caesar salad, oysters, Brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, and the chocolate cake. Highly recommend for a classy, top notch dinner.

Birthday

OMG! When I say this was the best steak I have ever had, I mean it! I had to signature boneless ribeye with the blue cheese on top. My steak was cooked to perfection. My sidese were season perfectly. Every time I come to New York I will make sure to stop at Delmonico's for my steak fix. I had leftovers and was so excited that I would have them to eat after we left the theater seeing the Lion King. To my dismay, they do not allow food in the Minskoff Theater, so I had to throw my food away! I WAS LIVID!! My steak was so good, I was tempted to go back the next day for another one.

Since 1827ish Delmonico's has been serving anybody and everybody how was somebody. Especially from the 1840's to the early 1900's Delmonico's was the preeminent eatery and steak house. My wife and I went and it was a very good meal. As a history teacher, I can say it was a visit with history too. A great experience.

Outstanding. NYC must do.

By varneykr |

Well worth it. We had all the traditional items - baked Alaska, eggs Benedict, Delmonico steak. Delicious. Our waiter was fabulous. It was my husband's birthday and they came with a decorative plate of ice cream, without me asking. Great experience for a special dinner. We highly recommend.

In the city from Tennessee on a girls trip and this was our favorite place! We were treated so great! The food was amazing and the service was even better!!

Not Worth It

By John P |

One doesn't have to be a foodie to know the name "Delmonico's". The country's first fine dining establishment and the birthplace of such classics as Eggs Benedict, Lobster Newburg, and Baked Alaska, Delmonico's was at the top of our dining list during a recent trip to New York. Located in a grand, old corner building, the restaurant exuded an old world charm in its interior and was simply but elegantly decorated for the holidays. Though the restaurant was full, we were promptly seated and service proved excellent. Unfortunately, our experience went seriously downhill once the food arrived. As firm believers in ordering to a restaurant's strengths, we both ordered the renowned "house special" Delmonico Steak. While perfectly cooked, both steaks were not at all trimmed and had great amounts of fat and gristle. Worse, the meat was tough and stringy. In short the famed Delmonico Steak proved to be the poorest quality steak we have had in quite some time. When one couples the substantial cost of dining at Delmonico's with the poor quality of their signature steak, the disappointment is complete.

Great to be back at Delmonico’s

By James L |

Great to be back at Delmonico’s having not been for 5 years and it’s still as good as ever. It’s well worth the trip down if you’re staying in midtown as we were. Food is superb and the service is excellent. Don’t go though if you’re on a budget...quality comes at a price.

Nice bar

By chr1seh |

Had already eaten so went to the bar. Great selection of drinks and we could smell (and see!) the food in the restaurant which looked lovely but was untested.

Okay food but way overpriced

By Anwil51 |

The "home of Eggs Benedict" was a little disappointing. While the decore is stunning and service is first class, the eggs benedict were less than impressive. Extremely basic is pretty much the description and they come without anything to accompany them. I cook better eggs benny at home. We ordered a steak on the side to share at the recommendation of our server who clearly recognized the shortcomings of the famous dish. Good wines and coffee made the visit a little better but the oversized bill should have been for a much more filling and impressive meal. The restuarant also did not provide gluten-free bread despite knowing we had a gluten-free diner in the group.

Lovely Quintessentially NYC Experience

By ManhattanWilliam |

There were 3 of us dining, celebrating a birthday and enjoying the Restaurant Week menu. Overall, Delmonico's is a lovely restaurant, a quintessential NYC experience. It was busy on a Friday evening but the service wasn't rushed and everyone was friendly and professional. We had a nice table and it's a comfortable environment, nice seating and large tables. Most of the food was delicious. Although we had the set menu, we added many extras. The Caesar salad is a standout - a unique take on the classic and delicious. The crab cake was very good, but the yellowtail crudo, although tasty, was ludicrously small. 3 of the tiniest slices of fish I've ever seen, and very disappointing. If you're not going to serve a normal portion, don't offer it on the menu, don't offer it, it was silly. Also, the bread was disappointing, there was only one type and it was soft whereas I prefer crusty bread. Nice creamy butter. I had the small sized 5oz mini-Delmonico that was included in the set price, and it was enough for me although it was very small. My hubby and friend had the upcharged full sized Delmonico steak, and they were outstanding. Very nicely seared and seasoned although maybe a tad salty. But a first rate steak, a great piece of meat. As to the sides we had the home fries and sauteed mushrooms. Both were delicious. The Baked Alaska seemed different from the ones we had last time. It was like a frozen pear, with ice cream, and the meringue top. It was GOOD but the consensus was that it's nicer without the frozen fruit because the pear had that crystallized texture that comes from freezing fruit, and we didn't love it. Espresso was very strong and very good. With 2 Martinis and 2 glasses of wine and the upcharges for the steaks and crab cake, the total came to $525. Not cheap. With tip, we were at over $600, so $200 pp. so be prepared. A delicious meal, we enjoyed it but it's not for everyday. Anyway, we all left happy and well fed at NYC prices.

Continental

By Txapurcio |

To treat yourself in New York. It is expensive, although I think it is worth it. The place is very well decorated, and the staff is very attentive. We arrived a little before our reservation time and they moved us to the bar while they finished preparing the table. The waiter who served us, apart from being friendly, spent some time when we had already paid to make us a list of different places to go for lunch or dinner in the city, the ones he used to go to. The meat, simply spectacular. And we were also struck by the short time it took to serve us, both at the beginning and between courses. BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE GOING TO ORDER WINE. There are some that cost you more than 30 dollars a glass. Note: If anyone thinks they are going to find themselves in John Wick's hotel when they enter, the inside is nothing like the movies.

If you love a Steakhouse you’ll love it!

By Kenneth Pages |

And if you don’t love a Steakhouse you’ll still love it! It’s such a great and classic place. Service, ambiance of the dining room and plenty of room between tables. Food was absolutely fabulous. We had some great Italian wine. Portions were totally huge. Definitely worth a visit and a re-visit.

Excellent food

By Steve S |

We were taken here by our business for dinner. Food top notch with the steak cooked to perfection. I felt the group overall enjoyed the experience which was perhaps spoilt by being prompted to leave at 21:10 by the staff right after desert. Guys if you have coffee on the menu then please serve it before rushing patrons out of the door....other than that I personally could not fault the food.

Excellent all around

We had a party of six to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We were set up at a prime table and had a lovely evening. We ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu and everyone loved their meal. My daughter had the Ribeye which was amazing. Our server was terrific and it was a great experience.

Still one of the classics in America!

What can be said about Delominco's that hasn't been already written? Amazing history, stunning service, excellent food, and great for business or a romantic date. Skip the baked Alaska and bring lots of cash, or better yet, bring a customer and put on your expense account!

The BEST meal I had in New York!

By ctnvolgal |

We dined at Delmonico’s our last night in New York and it was superb! I had the Delmonico Ribeye which was like butter melting in my mouth. My friends had the Filet Steak and Lobster Newburg. They both said their dishes were fabulous. For desert we split the Baked Alaska and it was the best I have ever had. Nimmo was our waiter and was very attentive and answered all of our questions. I will be back to enjoy your wonderful food again.

If you are in New York's finest steak restaurant don't order the chicken!

By michaelmM421JS |

I have to thank British tv chef James Martin for this "recommendation" , Delmonico's featured in both his book and show, "James Martin's American Adventure" Firstly , let me say the taxi driver dropped us off at the back door at the bar & grill entrance attached to the main restaurant and we were slightly confused when we went inside to a noisy bar. Through the bar and grill up a few stairs to a room that just oozed "class". We were seated in minutes and introduced to a magnificent waiter named Alexander, who never rushed us at all. This was going to be an evening to savor! A couple of glasses of french champagne to start. Let me say here, and it isn't a complaint, the Americans certainly know how to charge for wine by the glass. A basket of assorted breads appeared as if from no where. For starters we ordered charred octopus and seared scallops , which my wife and I mixed and matched. They were superb. For our main course we both had steak, well you don't go into NYC's reputedly finest steak restaurant and order chicken do you? My wife had a Filet Mignon, I had the trademark Delmonico steak. Both were cooked to perfection. we had sauteed mushrooms and whipped potato as sides, washed down with an excellent Turnbull Cab. Sauv recommended by Alexander. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and Delmonico's kindly shouted us desert, but I had to pay for my own 16 yo Lagavulin. All in all we had a perfect night in a sensational restaurant in a magnificent city. It is a long journey from Australia to New York, i would do it again just for Delmonico's

Perfect family meal

By hels2007 |

Visited on a Thursday evening after a long flight and we were not disappointed. The New York strip steak was amazing and my son had the fillet mignon and was impressed. Left room for baked Alaska of course too!

Was on my Bucket List

Lived up to it's Reputation. Was Great to dine where Abraham Linclon and JFK and many other Great People. I had the Delmonico steak and it is the best steak I ever had.

Best Delmonico ever!

By Fairport Travelers |

Business dinner here last week, first time ever at Delmonico's. Place was packed at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night. Very elegant inside, dining room upstairs and down a few steps to a large bar for pre-dinner drinks. Service was great. Never knew a Delmonico was actually a Ribeye steak and I'm not a huge Ribeye fan but I had to get their signature Delmonico steak and it was perfectly done medium rare. The Delmonico potatoes are amazing too. Excellent meal. Wine is list is EXTREMLY pricey, holy cow! Hard to find a reasonably priced bottle but we did get a bottle of Schrader for $160. Will definitely come back.

A Wall Street classic...

By J A T |

A business luncheon with out of town guests who had heard about this famous Wall Street eatery. . All our dishes were served family style. We enjoyed the grilled octopus and the Caesar salad as appetizers. For our main course, we ordered four different steaks: a 45 day dry-aged porterhouse, a 45 day dry-aged rib eye, a bone-in filet mignon and a 60 day dry-aged NY strip, accompanied by mash potatoes and sauteed spinach. For dessert, we ordered NY cheesecake and the 1867 baked Alaska. Everyone walked out raving about this great restaurant. I left Wall Street many years back but walking into Delmonico's brought back so many wonderful memories.

Elegant Dining

By blueshopcart |

Beautiful and elegant, Delmonico's is now one of my favorite restaurants and one I will always make time for a dining experience each time I visit NYC! From the appetizers to the steaks, the sides, and the best Baked Alaska; the best I ever had!

Massive steaks!

By Louise A |

I visited here on a business trip with a large group. The service was very attentive, the food came quickly and the steaks were just massive

Impeccable service!

By roverirish |

Reservations were easy to make even though it was the holiday season. Table was ready when we arrived. Service was impeccable and the waiter extremely knowledgeable about the wines and the food! The food was cooked to perfection and we were not rushed! The Delmonico steak was fabulous as was the cream spinach And the ants on a log :-) World famous baked Alaska finished off a great night with great cups of coffee!

Very good meal with excellent service

By wvbuckeye |

Wine: mark up on wine is quite high, but there were some older wines we don't get the chance to try often. The sommelier was very helpful with our decision making and keeping it in our price range. Food: 2 Delmonico steaks and a filet with sides. All quite good. the mexican street corn was fantastic as were the delmonico potatoes. Service: VERY attentive. water refilled, plates removed, wine refilled, checking in. Ambiance: beautiful setting. quiet.

Excellent Food Quality and Classy Service! Even had a secret door by our table

By TonyK300 |

This is the renovated Delmonico's that has been around to a century and a half. It's in the building that everyone has seen pictures off. The building itself comes to a point on Beaver St and the restaurant has a front and a side entrance. The minute you walk in you'll notice the service is topnotch. Every staff member greets you warmly and gets out of your way as you navigate the crowded dining room floors. Exceptional courtesy! The three of us were there to celebrate our son’s 40th and were fortunate to be put in a room of just 4 other tables and a secret passageway behind our table. Just press on the wall and it opens up to a secret hallway. We're not allowed to say what it is for. Our server was "Paul" and he was classy, knowledgeable, and had a dry wit. It was a pleasure to have him take care of us. He was always aware of our needs even as he went back and forth from our room to the main dining area. WE had our wine (avg $20.00/glass) a wedge salad w crisp prosciutto chips, and Octopus with delicious bread. For entrees we had (2) Eye of Delmonico's Steaks and (1) Delmonico Steak ($68.00 and $79.00 respectively). Fantastic meat. Everything is ala carte so we ordered Sauteed mushrooms (off the wall good), Asparagus (excellent), and a Spaetzle dish (ughhh - not very good at all). WE also ordered Kosho Butter and Shallot Beef Jus. Deserts were extremely tasty and delicately made - Mango Sorbet, Chocolate Ice Cream, and Cappuccinos. Be prepared that this is a first-class restaurant, historic, and in the Finance district of NYC. Be prepared for approx. $200.00pp for a complete dinner. But its Delmonico's! The experience was one we (and our son) will remember for a lifetime. Hint: Look for parking at the lot called Icon Parking, 15 William St. It’s just a few steps across from the side entrance of Delmonico’s. Some online maps do not show it, but it’s very convenient

Amazing!!

Girls trip!! We were treated incredible! Food was amazing... service and management was exceptional. One of my favorites while in New York.

A NY Classic

By c0mercial24 |

Great fine dining feel in the heart of money making financial district. Historic oldest restaurant of New York. Great service. It's all about the steak. Chose the Tomahawk steak. It is big for one but too little for two so be ready to share. Wines are slightly overpriced. Passion Fruit merengue was outstanding.

Not a wonderful experience.

By Harold |

I think the restaurant is beautiful. Restrooms are tiny - standard for NYC. Cocktails are great. Service was very poor. 1. We were seated at roughly the same time as three other tables but we were seated first and placed our orders first. It was a good hour before our appetizers came out and the three other tables had finished their appetizers before we received ours. No apologies for the delay. 2. Simple requests were not honored. I seriously dislike tartar sauce so I requested it on the side. Assuming the food wasn’t precooked and sitting under heat lamps already played I think this is a simple and straightforward request. I’m not asking to have something be made gluten free, not asking for a different sauce, I’m just asking for a separate plating for the tartar sauce so I can decide if I Iike the sauce or not. Waiter pushed back and said it would ruin the presentation and the chef would not be happy. I don’t think I’ve ever had a simple request denied. The waiter brought out the entree with it plated with the sauce and had a separate plate to move the crab cake. I did not like the tartar sauce so wound up cutting the bottom half off. The waiter’s response was that if an allergy was not involved, a plating request would not be honored. 3. Pommes puree wqs very gluey. Almost like when you over mix mashed potatoes and it gets that dense unappetizing consistency. Bone in rib eye was super fatty but maybe that’s to be expected for a bone in piece of meat. Temperature of the steak was perfect medium rare (as ordered). For the price point of close to 600 (gratuity and drinks included) I don’t think that this is the place to drop that kind of cash especially if waitstaff refuses to pass on a simple request. There are better steakhouses in the city with the same kind of atmosphere without the sense of entitlement of “we will do things our way because we are X establishment.”

By chance

By ozzycruisers |

Happened upon this restaurant by chance we thought it looked nice so went in , it was fab . We had lunch I had pork bolognaise & hubby had scallops they were delicious . Service was gr8 , like u get in a good European restaurant . When we went back to our hotel & raved about our food the concierge told us it was the oldest restaurant in nyc . We love it ‘& would definately go back

Amazing!

Went for dinner on Christmas with the family and had a wonderful experience. Several menu options for a 3 course meal with the Delmonico Steak reigning supreme. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere amazing.

Overrated

By SiW123 |

I hate to say it but this place is very overrated. The exterior and interior decor is beautiful, but that's where the good things stop. The wine list is deceiving. They sell very average bottles of wine for about triple the cost. We ordered an $80 bottle of Syrah and it was tasteless / wishy washy. I'm no snob but I know a thing or two about wine. Our server (lady with blonde hair tied back) was a little rude, she almost seemed offended that we didn't like the wine. My husband and I ordered our steaks medium rare, his was cooked perfect but mine was very rare. When I brought this to the servers attention she looked at it and said 'but that is medium rare...' it very obviously wasn't and it's concerning that even the staff can't tell how the steak is cooked. It was almost raw in the middle, any competent person would of known this. So she took it away and by the time it was brought back my husband had almost finished (also FYI they brought back the same steak that I had already cut up...) The quality of the steaks were just OK but we've had a lot better for less cost. At the end we weren't even asked how was everything or if we enjoyed our meals. I understand NY is expensive but during our week there this was the one place that was definitely not worth the high bill.

Lounge and grill is great value

By Michael D |

Wanted to take two potential clients there, but the main dining room is expensive to have a full steak lunch. Looked at menu for the lounge and grill in the bar area, and it looked good. It is in private room behind bar, past the main dining room, and very cozy. Had the fired calamari, which had peppers and olives in it, for the appetizer and it was excellent. Had the lobster newberg shepards pie and it was out of this world and very unusual. Great value and service.

Perfect steak

By hilde d |

Nice food.you get huge steaks. Price is not cheap but the quality and the service , aswell as the old atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect

The best steak ever!

By jogirl |

My husband and I went to Delmonico's for my birthday/wedding anniversary. This was by far the best steak I've had in a long time. We are coming back to NYC in a months' time and we definitely intend on returning. See you soon!

Perfect

By Federico |

We were in this restaurant in January 2024, Everything Perfect. The best meat and sides I've ever eaten. Friendly and prepared staff.

Great spot!

By ColleenQD |

My daughter and I stopped in for a quick bite and loved the service and the food! We ordered burrata and prociutto, steak frites, and the veal pasta. It was all delicious. We didn’t have reservations and I was nervous we’d be turned away, but they welcomed us with open arms! Would definitely go back.

Fine dining with history

By LyRae |

We went to Delmonico's to celebrate my birthday. The place is rich in history since it was originally opened in 1837. It's the first restaurant in America. Some of the prominent people in history who patronized this restaurant were Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt , JFK & many more. It's a good steakhouse with nice ambiance. You have to try their Baked Alaska cake which was invented here in 1867 to celebrate the U.S.purchase of Alaska from Russia. Good food & good service. I highly recommend this place.

Most amazing food and service

The most amazing meal and experience for my birthday... The staff are amazing from the coat lady to the wine waiter five star experience

Nice little steakhouse

By Kim K |

This steakhouse was next to our hotel and was an easy find. We booked on Open Table and set out for dinner before the theater show we had booked. The steaks did not disappoint. We were very happy with our meal. Our waitstaff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit this place again.

Good!

By Karen M |

Good atmosphere, decor and service. If you love steak this is the place for you. I went during restaurant week and got a 3 course meal for $42. That can’t be beat.

Expensive but quality

By AlanLondon_UK |

So, you already know it’s pricey. Is it worth it? Kind of. The cuisine is good but not exeptional. The Del Monico steak is a decent piece of beef. The whipped potatoes are heavenly. The lobster Mac n cheese is rich enough for a main course. What we thought was worth it was the superb service - from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and special, and the room itself is beautiful.

Delmonico's NYC

By kaye Kaye |

I went here for my anniversary and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, the food was great, the atmosphere was excellent and I enjoyed the food and the waiting staff. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I could not find the place and had to continue to look for it by asking many people and having to ride the subway and walk afterward to get there. I wasn't happy riding in the subway...

Classic Solid Steakhouse

By MarC25 |

We like trying new places but when in comes to steak, we always go back to Delmonico's. It's supposedly the first fine dining establishment in NYC. We love the old-world setting - cozy, elegant and relaxing. Even if the place is bustling with suits during lunch time, service is never hurried and servers are very kind and helpful. I always have the casesar salad with the boquerones to start and their signature boneless rib-eye au poivre with brussels sprouts sides. No bells and whistles, just classic steak cooked to perfection. Don't forget their enormous baked alaska to end your fine meal.

Delmonico's

By chetnluz |

The best steak i ever ate, the delmonico potatoes are amazing. The staff are world class. If you are lucky enough to dine here you will agree with this review.

Steak Perfection

By BillTruini |

Authentic High End Steak House. Attention to details. Staff great. Had the Porterhouse for two, with mushrooms and potatoes on the side.

Have not been here since 1969, but it still great

By Scranton-Slim |

As a Young man working on Wall Street it was a special treat, expensive but for all you get in class and tasty food it a actually a very good value. But there was no TripAdvisor then so after patiently waiting I finally got to post my review. And post my photo.

Truly the First Class Dining Experience!!

By Heather E |

If you are looking for outstanding service, fabulous food and ambiance, this is the place to celebrate an special occasion.

Big disappointment

By CMB5 |

We were super excited to try them since they reopened…however it was a BIG disappointment. We went for lunch on a Friday and it was some what quiet. The service was just ok. The highlight was the wine suggestion, she did a great job. The salad was decent and had nice flavor. My filet was so undercooked that it had to be sent back, I ordered Medium and it was almost Rare. My husband’s prime rib dip sandwich was very fatty and lacked flavor. The French fries were also super hard, starchy, and not hot. We will not be coming back, for the price point and being a NYC steakhouse, this was a huge disappointment. We live in NYC and visit steakhouses regularly

Great Steak, Service and Desserts

By NevskyNY |

Great, caring service and superb food. Leave room for the legendary Baked Alaska. The Chocolate Symphony is great too.

Great food; disappointing service

By JimboMalibu_CA |

We had always wanted to visit this world famed steakhouse so Restaurant Week was perfect. The atmosphere is old classy NYC. They make a generous cocktail and the menu is varied. My filet was perfect and the salad excellent. The only downside was our waiter was very unfriendly. I tried to be an affable customer, he had no sense of humor and the meal was not well paced...the steaks arrived while we still were lingering over salad. I guess they need to turn tables, but feeling rushed was a let down considering the quality of the food at the legendary establishment.

Over priced & over rated!

By Joanna |

I'd give this place 2.5 stars. 2 is too little & 3 is really too much. This place is overpriced & over rated. The steak was good, but nothing special. It definitely isn't worth the price. And the rigatoni was awful!!! The sauce tasted like it came out of a jar & had been burnt on the bottom of the pot & mixed in. We left broke & hungry. The staff was very very attentive & friendly.

Good food!

By WJSQ8 |

We enjoyed having our lunch there, the market lobster was amazing, but it was a big dish that needed to be shared. The bread basket and burrata dish were delicious! Friendly staff.

A Golden Age Touch

By Robert K |

We went to Delmonico's as part of a weeklong Christmas to New Year's visit to NYC. I had hear of the restaurant for years and knew it was a part of New York's heritage. It truly provided a touch of the Golden Age of the late 1800s. The décor was beautiful, the staff extremely friendly and attentive. You could cut my filet with a fork, it was so tender. The shrimp were wonderful too. I had never had Baked Alaska before and am glad I waited to get what I would consider the best of deserts. Loved this restaurant and can't wait to get back to NYC to visit once again!

Thank you!

By Alfie |

We visited NYC and Delmonico's was a must! I visited with my girlfriend with the intention of proposing. We were given a semi-private room, with our waiter for the night giving us two glasses of champagne and a dessert as a congratulations. Much appreciated! The food itself was amazing, the Delmonico ribeye and fillet steaks were stunning, black garlic butter, peppercorn and beef jus sauces and of course the famous baked alaska was a real dining experience. So grateful for the service provided on an evening me and my partner will never forget, so a massive thank you and we will of course visit next time we are in NYC!

Don't got here !

By nyvoice |

Very noisy..could hardly hear my tablemates..lobster newburg looked and tasted like rubber..hard to cut even with a steak knife. Tab for 3..only one of us ordered a cocktail, no wine. ..$400 !

This was better than I thought it would be.

By Brenda C |

This is the oldest continuously serving restaurant in the country. It is a beautiful space full of character. We had booked for lunch. I had Delmonico's signature steak. Massive steak cooked to perfection. I managed to finish most of it. We shared a Baked Alaska and we really enjoyed that. Service was friendly and professional. This is must for me and I would heartily recommend. Good area to walk around and explore.

A Meat Lover Staple

By Oreofudge |

...gotta visit Delmonico's if visiting Manhattan, specially if you're a meat lover. Food & Service was great. Gotta have the Delmonico's steak, accompanied by their mashed potatoes or corn, but hold the bread! although pretty good, you'll need that space for the food. Craft beer was nice as well. Thanks for an awesome dinner experience.

Christmas Eve dinner

By Londontravelor |

We celebrated Christmas Eve with a delicious dinner at Delmonico's. The Ribeye steak was the best I have ever had! The restaurant was lovely with old fashioned but elegant decor and the service was good. Yes, it is expensive, but you are paying for the overall experience. It was more than worth it for a special occasion.

Fab experience

By Zelda |

An amazing solo night experience, one for the bucket list! Beautiful steak and stunning surroundings

An Awesome Pre Broadway Dinner!

By Marisa |

Soooo happy that we were able to get a reservation for this historic place while in town to see a Broadway show. From the time you walk in, the service is impeccable! We actually caught a great Restaurant Week special so were able to try an app, a signature steak with sides and a fantastic dessert. We really enjoyed our experience and can't wait to go back the next time we are in town.

Best NY STRIP Ever - no kidding!

By ManhattanWilliam |

We went to celebrate our 16th Anniversary. This was our 4th steakhouse meal this month since we're truly carnivores. SPARKS for Christmas Eve, The Palm and Gallagher's a few weeks ago, and DELMONICO'S. ALL were delicious, truly but Delmonico's was the best of the lot by a hair. The wedge salad was great. The shrimp cocktail were just as they should be (large, chilled with good sauce) and my NY Strip? PERFECTION in beef form. My husband's Delmonico steak, rich as a rib eye should be, was amazing and the fat just melted in your mouth. The mac and cheese with crab meat? Fantastic. For dessert we had the Baked Alaska which was very good and a chocolate mousse cake that was outstanding (better than the Alaska). Started out with 2 martinis in the bar area and the service was superb all around. Our Zinfadel recommendation from the sommelier was perfect and our evening was just 5 star all the way - not stuffy at all, great food, nice and professional service and a fantastic old-school setting. We loved it!
