One of the worst "fine dining" experiences I've ever had in NYC. We waited 25 minutes beyond reservation time in an empty restaurant, and then escorted to an isolated room upstairs. "Don't get used to the quiet," the maitre'd told us... although we sat there for almost the entire meal with only three wait staff trying not to listen to our every word. The meal wasn't much better: bread was stale and very little taste to our salad and steaks. This seems to be a place living off the reputation of its long-standing sister restaurant downtown. For as many excellent places as there are in midtown, pass on this one.

9 of us stopped by looking to see if they could accommodate us without a reservation. Without hesitation we were seated and taken care of. All our meals were cooked to perfection and our waiters were fantastic. I met the owner Dennis and had a great conversation with him. If you’re in New York this is a steak house you should make a point of stopping by for a great dinner.

I'm a big carnivore so a steakhouse visit is a must on any trip. We had tickets booked for Les Miz at 7pm so chose this for the food and location. The restaurant was not full but surprisingly the service was just mediocre for a restaurant of this caliber. While nothing was bad I was just a bit disappointed and was hoping for more. Most importantly, my Delmonico cut steak was average at best. If you need a quick steak fix, come here but don't hesitate to look elsewhere.

A very hopping place had dinner before a rangers game, It was noisy and crowed, for a Tuesday, but the steaks were all top notch, one of the best I've eaten in a while, the appetizers also excellent, the service eeehh a little over bearing like he was yelling at us. But i will return many times I will just tell the waiter to slow down and lower his voice

I met a business associate here for lunch and was really impressed! The tuna tartare is probably the best I've ever had, and so was the Dover Sole. My colleague ordered the filet and loved it. Will be back at some time for a cocktail, their bar looks terrific.

We had a lovely dinner here. Many wine options and great food. I had a lovely steak. Classic restaurant in a positive way. Perfect location.

The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for a steak house. The wine list was just ok and my 1st 2 selections were out of stock. The server didn't offer to make that right but I survived. The food was great and the server was great. The support staff were okay but a little awkward. Enjoy.

We were excited to dine at the famous delmonicos. I would say the food was good, my delmonicos steak , their signature steak, was fatty. The filets got good reviews. The decor and setting could use an update. The service made us feel rushed.

This restaurant is off the trail but well worth the visit for both the delicious food and the fun yet professional service. The Billy's House-Cured Bacon Platter and 18-Hour Bar-b-cue Roasted Short Ribs were a tremendous hit at our table along with, what else, the New York Cheesecake - more than enough for a table of five to each share a little taste. The various sides make it super easy to share a meal! Definitely would go back!

Spent the day in NYC with friends to see a show and have an early dinner at Delmonico's. We are not tourists, as we live in New Jersey and work in Manhattan and are fully aware that eating in NYC can be pricey. We arrived at Delmonico's Kitchen, slightly before the restaurant opened and were welcomed into the bar to have drinks prior to the restaurant officially opening for the evening. Upon being seated for dinner, our waiter, Frank (Francis), shared what the specials were with us. A little later, when we were ready to place our orders, my husband and I mentioned that we were interested in splitting a steak - would he recommend the Delmonico Steak, which is on the menu or the Double Rib Eye Special (Tomahawk - double rib eye). He 100% suggested the Tomahawk and since the steaks on the menu were pretty much in the $50 range, we figured (although we did not ask), that the steak would be maybe $75.00. We ordered it to be medium well and he said no problem. When the steak came out, it was bleeding rare - nowhere near what we requested. Frank took it back and although it was a little more well done, was still on the red side. We had a lovely dinner but were floored when the bill arrived and we found out for the first time, that our steak, which was indeed a special, was $150.00!!!!! Really????? We were shocked to say the least. We admit that we did not ask for the price and we simply paid it and left , however, when a special menu item is ordered, it would be a smart move to at least share the price. Many restaurants list or share the specials and their prices, to avoid shocking patrons in the end. Very disappointed that a waiter would recommend the special without sharing the overpriced price tag that accompanies it. Seems a little underhanded to me. Our lesson is that we will ask moving forward, however, it makes a restaurant look good when they do not withhold this type of information from its patrons.

Went there today, 5 of us for my mother's 86th birthday. This is the worst steakhouse in New York. The waiter was borderline rude, had to practically beg him to substitute a vegetable instead of french fries, the steak (which was the Delmonico , so you would think it would be especially good) , was especially bad. Both my mother and I ordered it and both steaks came out overcooked, were extremely thin for this caliber of steakhouse and for the price, and were tough. Clearly did not cut or eat like prime aged beef. My daughter 'ssalmon was overly salty. Husband's burger was fine. Desert proposed as chocolate soufflé was a standard out of the freezer lava cake. Beignets were as heavy as rocks. The wines by the glass were good and a decent poor but beyond that there is nothing to recommend here. And the place was half empty. Don't waste your money.

Make sure you get a good server. We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming manager, Joe, and were shown to a nice table. He even suggested that we do not get a table in the back that was near an infant. Here's the "kicker". To make this dining experience better and most enjoyable then you must get the proper server. The first guy seemed to be totally brunt out (not appropriate for an upscale steakhouse). Our choices could have been better had we had Johnny explain the menu rather than the other waiter. Fortunately they do switch and Johnny served the second half after we already chose dishes that could have been far better. Everything arrived as ordered but we felt it could have been a better dining experience. I do recommend the iceberg wedge salad...very good. Do not bother with the onion rings, rather a disappointment compared to other NYC steak houses. They were on the soggy side with too much DRY salty blue cheese. A good cafeteria serves better onion rings. The steaks (Delmonico- boneless rib eye) were O.K. I feel that OK did not meet our expectations. Why? I do not know. Perhaps it is our fault not the restaurant's. They were actually served as requested but we still feel that they were just average. Creamed spinach was excellent, also a good choice. We did not order potatoes. If our original server explained all the choices (as Johnny did at the nearby table after we already were served our meal) then we probably would have ordered an additional side. Desserts were excellent (New York Cheese Cake and Bignet). Even the coffee was excellent. I drink my coffee black and rarely get excellent coffee in a restaurant. The manager, Joe, came by to routinely ask how we enjoyed the meal. I did not complain at all but said that it was not as good as we expected. Keep in mind that everything was actually served as requested. He tried desperately to please us even though we insisted that it was not necessary. The owner's of this restaurant should be thankful for excellent management. As an additional note, the location is excellent. A short walk from Times Square, Macy's, Penn Station, Greenly Square etc. A nice walk without the tourist crowds.

One of my favorite spots for a meal before a game at The Garden! The staff is outstanding and the food never disappoints. NY Strip & the Filets cooked to perfection, the Veal Chop special out of this world. Staff truly "gets it"! Accommodated every request, even assisted one of my guests with charging his phone. Always a stop on Game-night!

Nice ambiance, the steak was delicious! I will reserve again! The wine the waiter recommended was worth every sip and the desert baked Alaska melted in you're mouth. My boyfriend didn't like his steaks it was over cooked but he did like the desert and wine.

Upscale and classy. Went to this restaurant on a Groupon deal, and found the food, service, and ambiance TOP NOTCH. I ordered the filet mignon with au gratin style potatoes and asparagus. Everything was prepared perfectly. Dessert was also perfect. The prices are higher than New Jersey but standard for New York (and for top rated steakhouses). If you are a visitor to New York City, I highly recommend stopping in for an excellent meal in an elegant setting.

Delmonico's Kitchen is a more casual cousin to Delmonicos. It tries very hard to compete and pretty much succeeds. The same Delmonico steak is on the menu and for the price, almost as good. For those with a smaller appetite or budget the steak frites is an excellent alternative. The footprint of the steak is the same, but it is not as dense. It is still cooked to order and arrives almost cooked to order. The decor is far more casual and the noise level is fairly intense. However, it is a good value for the price and maintains the Delmonico high quality. Keeps Delmonico's Kitchen in mind if you are looking for a nice balance between formal and casual.

Really enjoyed our meal. Started with a caesar salad that was prepared with a wonderful homemade dressing. Ordered the Delmonico (ribeye) steak which was grilled perfectly and exceptionally tasty, Sea Bass that was good but nothing extraordinary, Delmonico potatoes that WERE extraordinary and a corn dish that we enjoyed very much. There appears to be more staff than would be expected for an establishment of their size, but that translated to very attentive service. Buy the groupon and you can't get a meal like this for this price anywhere in NYC......but still very fair at full price!

Eloy waited on our table. He was helpful but not pushy. He told us about an iPhone app that we could use to get around town. It ended up being very helpful. He told us about the original Delmonico restaurant's history and all about the steaks, since we said that was what we wanted. I'm surprised that all the steaks on the menu are 12 ounces or more. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked to our specifications, very, very tasty, and so tender. We enjoyed this dinner so much as a respite from a long day of sights and shops. We highly recommend Delmonico's Kitchen.

Overall, very mediocre experience. Didn't have first two wines I selected (why are they on the wine list then ?) After placing order, didn't see waiter again until offer of dessert - all service was by support staff. $51 steak was cooked properly, but nothing to write home about. Seems like they are living on a reputation but not bothering to earn it every day. I'd suggest going someplace else.

We were turned away with heaps of tables spare. The web site said their had tables spare. Not a good atmosphere. Would not recommend to anybody.

OK this is New York, don't expect cheap but this is a really bizarre experience! This is not a fine dining restaurant by any means although the frontage suggests it is, but inside, the atmosphere is dominated by 2 large tv screens showing football. I had the filet mignon and my partner the steak frites, the steaks were both very good , cooked as ordered a good size and tasty, but if you pay $48 for a so called filet mignon you expect a bit extra, instead of a few bits of frisée, (the only frills in the place!!) and a tiny portion of pre-prepared sauce, my fries were extra, but were at best adequate and served in a mini deep fried basket with a individual Heinz ketchup bottle. Nobody bothered to check In as regards quality and when we mentioned that the few bits of bread were dry they just smiled. One bottle of blended non vintage wine for $36 (the cheapest on the menu) later and 2 mediocre coffees we left very unimpressed, yes we had 2 good steaks and a bottle of average wine for $168 dollars plus tip for British people that is a total of £120.

We had a very nice dinner with lots and lots of food. The only thing that I wouldn't order again was the roasted cauliflower. We both had beet salads and a 20 ounce delmonico steak (which was very tasty) and the cold seafood platter which was also very tasty. The waiter forgot to bring us bread but in retrospect thank goodness for that

We had dinner at Delmonico's Kitchen on Saturday, November 8, 2014 and were a bit disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday with a night on the town in New York City and were really looking forward to a fabulous traditional NYC steakhouse dinner. The restaurant ambience was terrific, our table was ready immediately, the hostess was lovely, and our waiter was welcoming and knowledgable. We were off to a great start! We skipped appetizers as we were focused on having a carnivorous celebration, and saving room for steak, and possibly dessert. We both settled on Delmonico's Signature Steak (when in Rome...) with shared sides of sauteed spinach and skillet hash browns. The steaks were ordered medium rare. The steaks were rib-eyes off the bone. The meal arrived soon after and the disappointment began. One steak was medium rare and cooked perfectly. The other was medium to medium well. There was no char on the outside, it was a pale brown and just didn't look right. It was tough and grizzly, and just generally disappointing. It wasn't the worst steak ever, but it was by no means anything to rave about. And it was not cooked to our preference. The waiter did not come back to check on our meal for at least ten minutes, and by then I had decided it was better to eat it and move on, rather than disrupt the evening by waiting for a replacement. The spinach was a very small plate to share, and was fine but bland. And the worst offender....the hash browns. Not served in a skillet, they were served on a plate cut into 4 pie shaped wedges. They looked like pieces of fish as they were delivered to our table. Even our neighbors commented that it looked like fish. Worse yet, they were oozing cheese, and were sliced like scalloped potatoes. I would have described them as scalloped potatoes, which might have been okay if that's what we wanted. And the cheese was overpowering and oozing out everywhere. The cheese was not mentioned on the menu, nor by the waiter when I asked him about the hash browns before ordering. I know that restaurants do them differently, he made them sound very traditional. I could not eat it. ANyway, we had a great house pinot noir. Can't remember the name. We decided to skip dessert, as I wanted to get going after a disappointing meal. Everything was great except for the food. Not what you want in a pricy restaurant....or any restaurant. I would not return. There are too many great steak houses in NYC to give this one another chance.

Delmonico's Kitchen is the Midtown Manhattan son of the iconic Delmonico's in the financial district of New York. Both restaurants are serious top class venues. I belong to a gentlemen's club in the UK (university not strip) and going to Delmonico's is a similar experience in terms of atmosphere. The staff are polite not pushy, very knowledgeable about their offering and friendly in a professional way. We had lunch and were happily surprised to be offered a three course menu for $29 plus the usual. The food was superb. The service was even better. If you're in the vicinity of West 36th Street and you enjoy really good food served in a formal dining room coupled with superb service and you can afford about $60 a head I fully recommend Delmonico's. We will be there again. But we enjoy really good food and service.

I had dinner/reunion with a couple of very good friends. We had a great time...food was very good. We shared the Tomahawk steak, shrimp risotto and brussel sprouts. Very nice decor. There’s a nice open bar area, and a separate main dining area. It’s not very large but it didn’t feel cramped. But it was busy, so make reservations. Service was very good too. Would definitely have dinner or drinks here again.

This was our best meal in NY during a 5 day break. Portions were very generous and the food was delicious, especially the steaks. It had a lovely warm Christmassy atmosphere and the waiters were really attentive but not annoyingly so. As with all nice NY restaurants, wine was at least $60 a bottle. Would definitely go back.

I met some business acquaintances here for dinner last week. The staff are geared for a slightly formal dining experience, great for impressing a date or client. The price was very reasonable in my opinion for the table service. The waiter kept my cup fresh, he would just slip in and be done, they take your plate setting when finished with a course and bring a new setting for the next course (including silverware) - again very subtle...it just happened. The food was really good and very reasonably priced. I hope I get a chance to return and dine here again.

We ate here December 18th early evening. The staff were very pleasant but a little over attentive in my view and standing near our table overseeing the dining room when there was only 3 tables of diners at that time was a little over-intrusive for me. The food was delightful, though it is expensive. The staff push the specials verbally with no explanation of the prices of these (really they should provide a specials paper menu to project honest trading). I had read other diners reviews of the prices of these specials that they had later established when the bill arrived, so we avoided ordering these. I'm not entirely sure the meal was worth the cost but you can't visit New York without visiting a steakhouse. There was a member of staff who was a wine expert who had come to help out in the restaurant for the evening from a hotel or restaurant elsewhere, the dining experience was ruined a bit by his over-bearing voice and presence and conversations with staff in what was a quiet dining room. Would I eat here again? I wouldn't head here specifically but it was generally an acceptable meal.

Ate hear for my anniversary! Excellent food and wait staff. The ambiance is also very nice... dark wood, and nicely decorated for the holidays. The room was energetic yet not loud and was very comfortable. We eat out a lot and we will DEFINITELY be back her. Highly recommended. You can also buy a groupon for a better deal, and you won't be looked down upon.

I have frequented this restaurant whenever in the city. Tonight I thought I was eating at a Denny's. I do not expect to spend $30 on cab fare and $250 on dinner in order to listen several small children and toddlers out of control. We arrived at approximately 6:30 pm. As usual, the waiter was terrific and we got a nice table in the corner. We heard more than one child making a bit of a noise but figured this was short lived and an anomaly. We ordered the seafood platter as a starter. It was terrific. But the noise of the children did not diminish, it got worse. By the time I received my salad, the noise of children was unbearable. I felt like we were eating at Chuck E Cheese. I called the waiter over to ask what was going on? He apologized and told us there were several families in the bar with small children. We asked to speak with the manager. it took her over 15 minutes to appear (we asked twice). When she finally appeared she said "What do you expect me to do? There are three families here. I can't ask them to leave" As she was preaching to us, a toddler came running by our table. I said, I have no problem with families, but I won't pay $250 for a dinner to listen to screaming children. She stood her ground. I asked for the check. I was charged $100 ( just for the small seafood platter and a salad) for listening to screaming kids! If you want to run a "family" style restaurant I have no problem with it. Just don't pretend to be something you are not. We should not have been given a bill at all. We gave our waiter a nice tip for his attentive service, but our evening was ruined! We have no plans to return.

My husband and I went to dinner with a Groupon to this restaurant for the first time. The food was exceptional. The portions are very large. The restaurant is on 7th Av in the thirties. Great place when you are nearPenn Station or going to the theater.

Our waiter 'inaugurated' us to their fine butcher's pick of tomahawk steak....for two: three lbs of prime rib with bone. It was a meal by itself as it came with roasted mini potatoes, mushrooms and onions.....order nothing else..as it was just right for the two of us with a baked clams appetizer! Amazing...juicy...cooked to perfection.....what an experience! ahhhhh....

I've been to this restaurant several times, all using a $95 Groupon (which you can repurchase every 3 months) for $150 worth of food - a great deal. Delmonico's Steakhouse is located downtown, but this offshoot serves food just as delicious as the original. They offer the traditional steakhouse fare - seafood, chicken and a few pasta entrees, but the highlight is the steak. On a recent visit, our table ordered the Delmonico, the filet mignon and the NY Strip - all of them were tender cuts of beef, cooked to perfection, juicy and delicious. For the sides we shared the Delmonico potatoes, creamed spinach and crab mac-n-cheese. Excellent meal. I've tried the baked Alaska a couple of times, the first time, it was exquisite, the second time not as good; and the beignets were pretty dense, so giving it only 4 stars due to inconsistencies. But, they change the desserts on a regular basis, so will try something different next time. That being said, the steak was incredible and highly recommended. The waitstaff is very attentive, filling glasses, replenishing bread, even dishing out the side orders. The atmosphere is elegant, great for a special occasion. On one visit we saw a man propose to his girlfriend (he even brought in a violinist to serenade her). A lovely place to dine.

Using my group-on, I took my wife to the cozy intimate steakhouse off-shoot of the famed Delmonico's. We were not disappointed. Service was first rate and the appi's were very good. The porterhouse for two or the NY strip and filet are tender and soft and cooked as requested. Dessert is more than enough to share for two. The conversation level allows private audible discussion. A very favorable experience if you seek a group-on for two and save $65-82.

Great meal, staff were really professional, the steak was great. Espresso at the end was wonderful probably the best I had for years

We went to this restaurant on a groupon coupon expecting little. We were surprised by both the food and the service. Oscar was our waiter. We told him that we wanted to dine leisurely. He accommodated our every wish. We were pleasantly surprised by the steak for 2. It actually was better than Peter Lugers..Amazing. The sides were excellent as was the moderately priced wine and salads. All in all a wonderful evening...

The positives: attentive, friendly, professional service; good manhattan cocktails (I mean, you're in Manhattan, so . . . . ), and the food was certainly good, but not wow good for a $300+ tab for 2. I share other reviewers concerns that for the price it is reasonable to expect a greater experience. The ambiance is not what I expected, kind of cold, fluorescent lit, no real theme. We ordered the oysters and grilled octopus to start, both were fine, and Delmonico steaks with the classic sides of creamed spinach and the house taters. All good, no complaints there. I'd try Keen's next time, but the real problem may be the area around MSG is just not the kind of market that supports what I think I was expecting.

The food is not bad, small portion sizes of quality food, excellent wine selection. The service is what really made our experience satisfying. The resturant can get loud, but not overbearing. Raw: Maine Lobster Cocktail - perfect Starter: Blue Crab Cake - cooked and seasoned well Steak: Porterhouse for 2 - cooked and seasoned to perfection Sides: Crab Mac and Cheese - a little dry, could use more cheese and or milk Grilled Asparagus - cold Overall, not a bad experience.

We stopped in at 3:30 for a late lunch after a busy day and at the time they only had service at the bar with a bar menu. Katerina, the bartender, made a great Moscow Mule served with delightful and friendly conversation. A real plus was the delicious steak sandwich (served with the best fries) which my husband and I shared. This was just one short block from the Renaissance Midtown where we stayed.

This will be always my favorite steakhouse. My girlfriend and I will always prefer to come here, before any other place. Dennis alone, the way he treats his patrons, is worth the visit. You feel like family... family that makes me the best steak, every time. Anything brought to your table, will never leave you wanting but always leave you comparing your next meal, to the standard of Delmonico's Kitchen NYC.

Delmonico's Kitchen is the quintessential New York Steak House, moderately priced with the level of service expected by those who frequent steak houses. Portions are large and well prepared. Our waiter, Oscar, was attentive and friendly and eagerly complied with my guest's dietary restrictions, confirming that each course was prepared within those restrictions. The manager, Dennis is obviously on top of things, he was constantly moving around the dining room checking on guests. I love coming here for the food, service and convenience (only 2 short blocks from Penn) and I am pleased that they can be trusted to impress a client when I bring one.

My fiance and I had dinner at Delmonic's kitchen before the Clapton concert. Our thoughts: 1. We made reservations thru Open Table and were seated promptly at our time. 2. Wait staff was very nice and efficient. 3. Prices are absurd (and I'm an New Yorker and not often sticker shocked). Wine by the glass ranges from $16 to $24. I ordered a steak which was $50.00 and one side which was $11.00. Steak was weak and had to be sent back because it came out almost rare. I asked for medium to well. My fiance had a chicken dish and that was $40. It was decent. 4. Overall, overpriced and underdelivered. Total bill, with one glass of wine each and one appetizer to share, with tip was $180.00 Hope this helps.

I am always wary about going to upmarket steakhouses in the States, because I don't generally eat a lot of beef, nor do I like to pay "upmarket" prices. Well in Delmonico's Kitchen, I am willing to make an exception. The portion sizes were extremely generous and I ended up waddling like a duck on the way home. To start with, was a lobster and crab cake. This was followed by two of the most amazing pieces of (huge) steak. Desert was a delightful chocolate lime pie. I would have ordered two, but I had reached my limit. Would I go back? Sure .. but let me find the gym first!

Went with a discount Groupon. The "Delmonico" steak, described by the waiter as a 20 oz. ribeye was closer to 12 oz., appr. 1/2 inch thick, not very flavorful, but just OK. The fried onion strips on top of the steak tasted like they came out of a can from the supermarket. My wife's short-ribs was fatty and chewy with little flavor. The "crispy brussell sprouts" were anything but and had no taste. The "Delmonico potatoes" in a cheesy sauce were delicious. The salads, kale for her, iceberg wedge with blue cheese for me, were both tasteless.

Made dinner reservation before a show at MSG. Service was great & quick. Started with shrimp cocktail and crab meat. We each had a filet mingon which was cooked to perfection! Sides we got sauteed broccoli and hand cut fries. Everything is a la cart, which can become pricey but it was all worth it. We definitely recommend having a meal here!

It was crowded and they didn’t have enough servers to cover the crowd. Waited to have table cleard and a long wait for the check. Delmonico steak was chewy and not much taste. Salsa and sides were fine. Not good enough for a high end restaurant. Won’t go back.

Came here during Restaurant Week. We were very excited to try this place plus having the special made this place irresistible. However, we found the food to be lacking for how much we paid. We ordered the Filet Mignon as part of the special and both were not cooked to our liking and were missing something. On the regular menu, this entree was around $50. I would not spend this money on a dry piece of meat that lacked flavor. It was a nice place to try, but will not be going back.

Went in looking for somewhere as focused on wine as food, and certainly found it. Had the daily fish special (swordfish, small) which came with tomatoes and mushrooms and was fabulous. I'd decided to go with Oregon pinot noir (which was good) but set it aside whilst I went through the best beignets ever. I've been to France plenty of times and these were better than I've ever tasted there - light, fluffy and crispy - the caramel and chocolate sauces went brilliantly with them. At $105 for 2 courses and 2 glasses, not cheap, but certainly good quality

Porterhouse for two, Delmonico potatoes, creamed spinach. Start with a Caesar salad. You will frequently find a Groupon for this place. Well worth a visit if you like steak. On the weekends, I always find a place to park on 36th Street.

I always start a business trip to the big apple with a solo dinner at a steak house bar, glass of wine, and hopefully good steak with spinach side. Best way to unwind, and set the tone for a few hectic days on Wall Street. This place is dead, the Delmonico Prime was over cooked, and overly fatty. My expectations after a coast to coast flight are low, so if I won't be back that says a lot. Btw, the bar tender was great. Not her fault.

Let me start by saying that Delmonicos Kitchen is the best food I have had. The maple bacon appetizer was out of this world. I love the lobster. Everything was so fresh and well made even in the dead of winter. Plus the service, great and friendly. The environment is very relaxed. And you can't forget about their deserts. The baked Alaskan cake is very good. I recommend it.

Family of 4 ate Thanksgiving here. They only had certain 4 course meal options that day at $70 a head. 1st course of Crab Cake was good, but tiny. 2nd course risotto was the best part of the meal. Turkey plate was ok, but very bland. Huge plate, but half filled with green beans. Wife had steak plate cooked medium. Charred to a crunch on the outside, and still bloody on the inside. 4th course of desert was mass produced "personal" size pie- kind of like what you would get out of a vending machine. Ambiance and staff were very nice. I know this was a Thanksgiving limited menu, and that it may not be a full representation of their normal menu and this had smaller portions, but based on what i had, i would not be going back.

great addition to the 'hood. the food is great. for lunch you can not beat their burger. excellent wine list. star is super. have somebody take you on a business lunch so you dont have to pay :)

We had very nice lunch/snack. We were little late for lunch but we could order something form lunch menu too. Thanks to waiter and chef. The food was very good as I expected. Service was also great.

This is a very good steakhouse. Large portions and drinks. If you sit in the back section, it is quieter than the front. Exceptional Hostess who also serves as Coat Check person. Very helpful. Steak is the big thing here. It is expensive, like most NYC steakhouses but well worth it. Near to theaters or within an easy walk through Times Square crowds. Wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. With large portions, sharing a big steak is easy. Smaller restaurant than man y other steakhouses in Manhattan and thus more enjoyable.

I have been there so often, I have tried most items on the menu. Love the tartar, the hamburger, and the steak frites. Always delicious, you should try it. Wish i had this place close to home.

I had the NY steak, my wife the Rib Eye and they were perfectly made, trimmed well and not under or over seasoned. The sides were delicious; we had the potatoes with pancetta in a chesse sauce and the mac and cheese. Portions are generous and the service was excellent. They have an extense selection of wines that will have you guessing, that happened to me and got an extraordinary dark IPA beer instead. The DK cheesecake was good but nothing extraordinary. I would definitely comeback.

I mean -- to be honest, all these fancy steakhouses are very similar. They can drop you in the midst of a morton's, or a capital grille , or this place, and it's super hard to tell the difference . This place is as good as any of those -- and the Delmonico steak itself is superb ( though they'll charge over 50 bucks for it)

Had a disappointing lunch today at one of my favorite mid town haunts. My fish was overdone making it tasteless and the client’s steak was not prepared as requested either. Since we were both tight for time we just ate and did our business. I certainly hope this was an outlier and that my next visit will reinforce my liking of this restaurant. Oh well everyone is entitled to an off day let’s hope it’s not a pattern

If there is a better filet mignon, I haven't found it. Prepared perfectly. Nice sear. Juicy and soft inside. Large serving. Service was impeccable. Everything moved with good pace. Wait staff attentive and polite. Would definitely return.

We made a reservation on a Saturday evening for dinner before a show. The location is great, within easy walking to the theaters. We were promptly seated and our service throughout was very good. The decor has a mix of contemporary and old world feel. Our first disappointment was with the bread. With all of the great bakeries in New York, there is little excuse for the bland bread we were served. Our second disappointment was with the charcuterie plate we ordered, this also was lacking in the quality we would expect from Delmonicos. Our entrees were very good though and overall our experience was fine. The wine list is great with by-the-glass choices that are pretty exceptional.

The portions are huge. We decided to split the Delmonico steak, they pre-sliced it in the kitchen for us. It was perfectly cooked. All of the sides we had we great, I had the green beans and they were also cooked to perfection. I don't know how the beans were all uniformly cooked to the just right amount of crunch, but they did it. My wine was excellent and a nice complement to my meal. Service was stellar. Will return.

Ate at the bar so the atmosphere was not the best. Food waa excellent they spliced the rib eye for a split dinner fro two.

When you've eaten alot of steaks, it's hard to choose between them, but I must say, the filet mignon that I had last week at Delmonica's Kitchen (the more casual sister restaurant to the fine dining Delmonico's in Downtown) was perhaps the BEST steak that I have ever tasted in all of my years. If you find yourself wandering around Midtown Manhattan wondering where to eat, roll up and grab yourself a table!

Here on business and always trying new places. Nice and roomy restaurant where your not on top of each other. Friendly staff. Ordered shrimp risotto with Caesar salad and friends ordered steak. All dishes were well prepared, risotto was perfect! I’ve had better Caesar salad, otherwise happy with all we ordered. My only beef was they were out of the bottle of wine we wanted but the waiter comp-ed the price for the difference which I thought was very nice. Would definitely recommend.

I considered giving this just one star. For a $300 meal I expect to come away with something good to say, but honestly cannot think of anything. Service was fair so I will at least give it two stars. The food was lacking from beginning to end. Appetizers were bland - soup was a snoozer and I didn't eat but half of my wedge salad (how can you go wrong with a classic wedge???). We had the shrimp bacon risotto and the delmonico steak. Risotto and shrimp were dry and tasteless - not creamy and smooth as risotto should be. The steak had no flavor. Dessert tasted like something purchased at Kroger that had perhaps been made last month. Not a good way to spend my money or evening. Sorry - not going back.

A place to have a quiet conversation in a conservatively classic ambience with friendly and unobtrusive service and quite excellent food--you need to be into your meats or at least some fish--that is on the slightly pricey end. But highly recommend if you are looking for a good place around the infamous Penn Station commuter/tourist trap.

Drinks in the bar at a nice, cozy and friendly bar in NYC. We did not have any problem at all to stay for long while at this place.

We dined here tonight and the service was definitely below par. The steak was a 3 out of 5 but service left a lot to be desired. The ordered the cheese board for $21 and the cheese was very old and have small white pieces of mold growing on them. We tried to explain this to our server and he tried to use the excuse, 'that's how Parmesan is.' I'm sorry but cheese isn't meant to be served old and moldy. Throughout the course of our meal we had about 6 different servers who were all on a different page. We were asked the say questions repeatedly (I.e- do you want dessert?, are you done?, etc). We asked for our porterhouse to be wrapped and when we get home half of the steak with the bone is missing. We call the restaurant to find out what happened and are told 'it didn't fit in the container.' Are you kidding me? Use a few containers or buy bigger ones. Duh. Terrible service. They obviously don't care if people return. To Carin S.'s comment please explain why several containers were not used in my visit? Why should I have to pay $110 for a dish and when I get home more than half is missing? They also charged us for Bearnaise sauce (which tasted terrible, made of mayo) and never bothered to politely let us know there would be an additional charge. If you are going to bring something out you should let the person know there will be an additional charge. Not worth the money with all the restaurants in New York.

We were a group of 8. Service and food were excellent. If you want a nice steakhouse this is as excellent. They have a large menu and the desserts were amazing.

First off who doesn't love Bacon!?! They have this great bacon app, and Bacon salad that was DELISH! We had 2 major entrees- Scallops and Steak and it was well worth it. Price was what I expected of the location and the cuisine. I would expect you could see some local celebrities there- the décor, staff and menu was very NYC

First an foremost I must give a shout out to one of the best bartenders/Waitress ever!! SHARON!!! I asked for seafood she made me get the BURGER an it was UNREAL, plus great refreshing personality an makes amazing drinks!! I will be back for sure.

This is hard to write because these is much to like about this restaurant. A week or so before Christmas and arrived after the crowds so no reason for less then good service.Hostess was fine when she led us into the main room. Waiter was the essential problem. Seemed indifferent from the start. Slow to get menus, slow to take drink order and so on. The steak we had was excellent although the salad was mediocre for the price - no excuse when we are talking about lettuce with a dressing. My impression is that management is not as sharp as they should for a steak restaurant in midtown, Thus the reason for my disappointment

My husband and I tried this restaurant saturday 9/10/16. The waiter, a transplant from Ireland, seemed scattered and not friendly. I ordered the short ribs, which had been braised for like 18 hours. My husband ordered a steak. The steak was good, but average. My short ribs were so dry and tasteless. I ate maybe an eighth of it. The grits and corn that came with it were very good. The waiter came back at the end of the meal to ask us how we liked it. I told him the short ribs were very dry. He said he would let the manager know, but no one ever came by to see what they could do or at least apologize. Then we got the bill and realized that all of those iced tea refills were $3.50 a piece!! In Cincinnati as in most of the places in the country (California to Florida), refills of iced tea are free. I definitely think they should have said something about this. My husband had 4 refills and I had 3. It was 90 degrees and humid and we had been sightseeing all day. 2 adults, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert and no liquor was $180! I felt like we were taken advantage of. I would never go back to this establishment again!

We had an excellent meal here, starting with a delicious bacon appetizer. Sooo good and plenty for 4 people to share. Had porter steak steak for 3 that was cooked perfectly, was tender and literally the best steak I've ever had. Do not miss their namesake potatoes(side),a decadent dish.

DH and I ate here during a weekend trip to NY. We both had steak, and it was amazing. Incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection. I had the steak frites, and it is useful to know it comes with a 10 oz ribeye, whereas the menu ribeye is 20 oz! DH had the NY strip and a baked potato. I had crab cake to start, which was good, but not amazing. He had the iceberg wedge, which was a whole iceberg head quartered into wedges. No room for dessert. Service was perfect. Genuinely nice but not intrusive. It was expensive, but well worth it. We can't make steaks like those at home. Fine dining but you can wear jeans. It's that kind of place.

The girlfriend and I went to Delmonico's Kitchen last week to use our Groupon. Reservations were easy to make over the phone. We got there and the hostess was a little aloof and proceeded to seat us next to the door to the kitchen - not a big deal but it could be one of the least appealing tables in the whole place. Our server brought us menus and let us peruse. While service was good throughout the evening, there were a couple service things they could have improved. One was they didn't tell us anything about the the menu such as specials until we asked. We overheard them explain everything at length to other tables without being prompted. We ordered the bacon to start, 2 different cuts of steak with the king crab mac and cheese and creamed spinach on the side along with cocktails and some wine. They brought our cocktails and she loved hers. My Manhattan was pretty normal and she loved her Thymeline 1837 cocktail. They brought us bread and butter to start and I thought our rolls were perhaps a touch stale. Then they brought the bacon which was really good - 3 thick slices cut in half and very tasty - possibly the best part of the meal. After this, they brought our steaks and sides. My Delmonico was good but not the best steak I've ever had. In fact, I wrote up a review on Benjamin's just a few weeks back and their steak was better. The king crab mac and cheese was good but didnt have a lot of king crab. The lobster mac at Capital Grille might be better. We ultimately saved some room for a Baked Alaska which was good (picture attached). Earlier I mentioned some service flubs and another thing they did not do was offer us steak sauce which they did for others but overall, service was decent as they filled our glasses a few times and checked on us once or twice. The bill came out to roughly 300 bucks with tax, tip, food, 1 dessert, 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine. Our Groupon was worth 200 bucks so we paid 100 bucks on top. Again, OK place but we wouldn't come back with so many other steakhouses in NY.

Restaurant smelled of cleaning solution which wasnt really inviting.... I had sole even though its known for steaks. Very good. Atmosphere just ok....needs a bit of updating. Great location near MSG/Penn Station for pre event dining!

Went here before heading to the theater on the Friday night of restaurant week. Enjoyed the risotto, fillet, and chocolate cake. If I'm being picky (and isn't that the point of a review?): 1) the fillet was served rare rather than the medium I ordered - but still quite tasty, 2) the green beans that came with the fillet were not very good, 3) it took quite a while for the waiter to bring the check. I tasted the house red wine, and I found that it paired well with the fillet. The Delmonico's sauce was offered to us - the fillet didn't need it, but I found its sweetness kind of fun. Overall, a nice dinner with friends.

My first visit to New York and I was looking forward to this dining experience. We are always a bit weary when dinning out with a Groupon but the food, for the most part, was excellent! Our server didn't make any recommendations until I asked and was in a big hurry for us to order. When the couple at the table beside us arrived he gave them much better service explained the whole menu and gave the info on specials and recommendations. We had ordered the filet mignon with a side of delmonicos potatoes which were both excellent. The lobster newberg was good though very rich and a very large portion I wasn't able to finish. Lastly the crab Mac and cheese was watery over cooked and inedible and for 18$ a huge disappointment All together a good experience but I would not pay full price to eat there again.

This was a wonderful choice for dinner! Nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Creamed spinach was perfect and the filet was outstanding! We will dine again for sure on our next visit! Make reservations!

We decided to make a pre-concert stop for dinner before attending the Stevie Nicks/ Pretenders concert at Madison Square Garden. Trouble was we wanted to have enough time to enjoy our meal and be able to walk, not run, over to the Garden. We asked our server if we could accomplish this in under an hour and he assured us that he would make sure our order would be met with prompt attention and we would be done with time to spare. Our drinks, our appetizer, (fabulous oysters!), and our main course, (DELICIOUS steak frites with a side of perfectly sauteed spinach), were all served promptly without ever making us feel rushed. The fare was cooked perfectly and was as mentioned before, delicious! A testament to the Delmonico's heritage and reputation.and the Steak Frites was a bargain at just over $30. i can't wait to go back again, whether or not i have Garden tickets.

Took some colleagues to Delmonico Kitchen during restaurant week because we could get a table (now I know why) on short notice for a larger group. It happened to be restaurant week and we decided to give their menu a try--One would think they would put their best foot forward under the circumstance--3 of us ordered the braised short rib--it was so tough you had to saw at it with a knife! I have never had such poorly cooked short rib! It was almost as if they microwaved leftovers! 2 of my colleagues got filet mignon which was also overlooked. Really disappointing! The only good was the chocolate mousse cake! I will never go back ! If you are in NYC looking for steak go to Keen's!

Any time you can find dine where something is invented, I say do it. The chefs rotate from here ava the original Delmonicos downtown. They invented the boneless ribeye, marinated and served perfectly, everyone's steaks cooked as ordered. Their potatoes, and sides were great. Wine was overpriced even for N.Y.C. Service was good for a large group. The winner was the in-house cured bacon! An absolute must. Definitely in the top 10 NYC steakhouses list.

Originally had reservation at the original location in the Financial District (and still kinda wish we'd gone there...open for over 100 years) but the menu is identical at the Kitchen location, which was only two blocks from our hotel. Service was simply outstanding - Our waiter Eloy could not have been better. Really showed he cared about our experience.

Wonderful food, perfect steaks, huge amount of Lobster and the side of cauliflower was exceptional - really & it's cauliflower!. The Beignets were a lovely end of the meal. Service was great - everyone was very nice.

A friend of mine had a groupon for Delmonico's Kitchen and was nice enough to ask me to join him for dinner. We had a reservation for a Saturday night and were immediately seated at a very nice half booth table in the dining room. We started with the cheese plate which was delicious - it comes with really yummy bread, 4 types of cheese and some fig and honey spreads. My friend had the Delmonico steak & I had a 12 oz filet ; both were cooked to perfection. Everything is a la carte, so we ordered a side of mashed and a side of string beans, which was plenty to share. We aren't big wine drinkers but I noticed the wine list looked very long. Dinner was a great experience. The food was good, the vibe was good. My only qualm was the server could've been a little more attentive. He wasn't neglectful, but when trying to get the check it took a little while to catch him. In his defense, it got crowded rather quickly at the time we were leaving. They are pricey, but I would say worth it. Overall, this is a nice place to dine with friends or a spouse.

I got sold onthe 150$ tomahawk dry aged rib eye with 42 ounces of meat. Well if I leftthe reataurant hungry how could that be? This is shared by 2 people we shared it with 3 to be fair but one was a child. 42 ounces of meat should have been adequate to go around. It was not enough. I have been there before but will not return, Go to the original Delmonico s on Beaver street.

Although the wait staff were all extremely good, and courteous, items that Delmonico's Kitchen are famous for fell short. The Delmonico Steak (actually boneless rib eye as stated) was tasty, and cooked properly, a $51.00 ala carte steak could have been a bit more than a few ounces. The special of the evening was OSSO BUCO, and having it served in restauants all over the world, this dish at $58.00 was less than half the size of any purchased elsewhere. It was served over a bed of plain white rice, and fairly flavorless if not for the pungent sauce included for the price. The french fries were the highlite of the meal. We would choose to go elsewhere next time in the city. We so looked forward to the evening but were disapointed.

Delmonico's Kitchen, one of several steakhouses with a claim to the original name, offers excellently prepared steaks with some innovative side offerings. The crispy brussel sprouts are lightly sweet with a great crispy texture. The crab mac and cheese is to die for and a surprising update to a classic. The dessert menu is also well executed. The beignets are the perfect consistency and not too sweet.

Went for a meal before a game at Madison Square Garden. Having been to the original Delmonico's in the financial district a couple of times, I expected a similar experience. I was somewhat disappointed. The meal was good but the steak was not as good as downtown or a couple of nearby steakhouses I have visited. The service was good and the hostess was especially friendly and welcoming. The room was crowded and very noisy and without any charm.

We recently went here for dinner as a couple. We had read the other reviews. Our experience was very good. All the staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. We both had steaks and both were cooked perfectly as we ordered and tasted great. We had a very good meal and based on our experience we would highly recommend this restaurant.

it's a good experience of dinner. everything was perfect, we arrived without any reservation and they do the best to accomadate in a full day for them. I can recommend the Delmonico steak , best of the house

Quite after a 20,000 steps day. Not overpriced good service and quality meat. Good choice of wines by the glass.

This place serves one of the best steaks I've had in my life. Just keep in mind that they are expensive, 50$ for one steak. But it's huge, and as I said, incredibly well done. They also have some great starters: oysters, kobe beef carpaccio.

We had the best meal ever here on Saturday night - Nov 21, 2015. Iley (our server extraordinaire) was perfectly on point and seamless. The food was most delectable and our mouths watered into the next day!! The rib eye was absolutely divine as were the secondary dishes. Thank you DK for a fabulous evening - we'll surely return soon!

Food was really delicious, service was good. We went for restaurant week and menu was one of the best to pick from. They didn't have lobster bisque( listed on a menu online for restaurant week), but their soup of the day was very tasty. And 18-hour braised short ribs- my husband was a big fan!!!

Great classic for the classics. Service hit or miss on the few times we visited. Acoustically loud, but hey you are in N.Y. Visit the original downtown coast then compare

We kept walking past this restaurant and after it was recommended to us by our tour guide decided to give it a try. The menu was quite extensive and the staff friendly. We will definitely go back.

It's only 6 minutes walking from Penn Station. I purchased a great deal through Groupon. Food sizes may not seem big, but they fill you up. I would recommend to start with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Two people can definitely share it. Then, order either the chicken or filet mignon and finish it with a great dessert. Quiet environment perfect for couples or families. Service is excellent and location is ideal. I would definitely recommend it.

I've got to say, when I'm spending a good penny on a steak I'd like to relax in peace and quiet. This is not really possible here. This is a loud, crowded restaurant. The food is delicious and well presented. The service is professional yet friendly. I like the wine list and there are plenty of options. I'd rather have my steak in a quieter, more intimate setting.

My son (17 year old) and I went. Good service (although the waiter kind of stood right next to our table which was a little weird). Food was good - and I don't mind paying for a quality meal. With tip and one glass of wine was $180. I would have been pleased same scenario at $130. I had the Delmonico steak and my son had the filet. Well seasoned and prepared.

Prices are much higher than they need to be. Everything was over cooked. The pickles looked like someone had frozen them then beat them up before serving them. The fries were a mess. Lettuce and tomato seemed ancient as well. I'd let all that go if the burger was remotely good and it was not. For a 20USD burger you have to expect a little more that this. The 2nd star is for the staff ALL of whom were excellent and professional. I probably won't be going back there.

I have been to Delmonico's Kitchen twice and both times, food and service were great. I definitely recommend.

Had high expectations of this place having dined at Delmonico's near Wall St. Came here for lunch and tried the Restaurant Week menu with a friend. The menu changed a bit from what was previewed on the nycgo website. Table bread wasn't warm but was super crispy outer and tender inner. My entree I went with a short rib gnochetti and it was very flavorful. The same short rib is used in the entree version as well, it tasted like it. My friend ordered the soup of the day, which was a Manhattan clam chowder. My friend's entree was the 18 hour braised short ribs. It was big pile of meat and too salty according to her. I went with the seared salmon. It was so tender and moist. I particularly liked the lemon butter sauce and the bed of farro. For dessert, we both ordered the DK's chocolate mousse cake. It was the sponge cake that was chocolate, the mousse was white chocolate. We asked for no wait time before courses since we were limited to one hour for our lunch break. Service was fast.

My wife and I attended the Paul McCartney concert this past Sunday and wanted to find a restaurant near Madison Square Garden. We chose Delmonico's Kitchen on West 36th street. The restaurant is the midtown location of the venerable original Delmonico steakhouse on Beaver Street in lower Manhattan. The menu is very similar and very good. We began with appetizers of scallops and risotto and burrata, prosciutto and tomatoes. Both were great. The scallops were seared perfectly and the burrata was creamy and delicious. We both chose the signature Delmonico ribeye as our entrees. They were nicely grilled and cooked to our specifications. We shared a side of creamed spinach. Dessert was a delicious chocolate souffle. Delmonicos Kitchen is a great dinner choice.

Wonderful Caesar salad, great bread & butter, steak cooked to perfection and the creamed spinach was absolutely spectacular.

Had a quiet dinner with friends and enjoyed my salt-free hangar steak , though the fries, were a bit soggy, and friends enjoyed the filet mignon. The portions are hefty and the sides can serve several people. We over-ordered and wound up taking much of the food home. The wait staff described the size of the sides as sufficient for one diner....that was a mistake! The prices seemed high but given the location...perhaps they are used to business account clientele?

I would rate this restaurant a little more pricey, but worth it for a slight splurge. Excellent handmade pasta. Extensive wine selection. I visited here during Restaurant Week, but the dishes we had were on their regular menu. I will definitely be visiting here again.

The steak was excellent and order the appetizer or small plate of onion rings with blue cheese dressing.

This was just a "drinks and apps" visit, but based on what I tried I would go back for dinner. Our group of six shared the fries with chipotle mayo, short rib meatballs, calamari, and the flatbread special. Everything was perfectly prepared and flavorful. The wine list is very nice, and the cocktails looked intriguing.

The food was amazing and our server made the night. He knew it was our anniversary and brought out a dessert with a chocolate saying with two drinks. The pizza bread was delicious and so were the home fries. Both the steaks were done perfectly. The place wasn't romantic though but more lively our waiter made the night. Thank you

I truly enjoyed the service here at delmonico's kitchen. The plates were a little too plain for my tastes. The bread wasn't hot but the butter was creamy and made up for it. The Delmonico steak was prepared perfectly with a char to the outside but juicy middle. The Faroe salmon was also prepared in the same fashion. Their salad had a nice vinaigrette dressing. The crispy Brussel sprouts were not crispy!! Good food but great service

Wanted to book Keens restaurant but was sold out, hence picked delmonico as it was near MSG. Groupon deal made the experience acceptable, otherwise it would be way overpriced and not up to the typical ny steak houses standard. Porterhouse for 2 was good size, but instead of medium it was well done. We waited for at least 30 minutes to get the dish after ordering. Side dishes were ok, nothing special.

We had an excellent meal. Our friends don't eat meat, but found a variety of very good choices. I like this place because it is close to the theatre district, but in area that is not crowded.

A group of us dined here before a show at the MSG and felt the food was good quality and the service satisfactory. I had the Burrata and Prosciutto for starters and Filet Mignon for my main course, both were delicious and the steak was cooked to my liking and very tender. Shared a number of sides, the creamed spinach was particularly good. The place isn't cheap (the filet mignon was $50 without sides) but I would recommend this restaurant based on convenient location to the MSG and tasty food.

Visited after a show. It is not close to the theatres, but is wonderful. Staff is super friendly. Our waiter has worked at the restaurant for 27 years. Very knowledgeable staff. Food is fabulous. We usually split a steak because of the size. Vegetables cooked nice and crispy and steak is perfect. The wine was excellent. An excellent experience.

Amazing steak, perfect sides & great service ... NYC prices so not cheap but well worth the money. We both wanted to try the baked Alaska desert but were too full of steak!

Don't expect Delmonico's Kitchen to provide the quiet, intimate setting the original Delmonico's can. It reflects the Midtown location with bustle & noise. But it was a fun environment and the food was excellent as always. I had the original Delmonico steak, my husband had a Butcher's choice buffalo steak and we shared the Delmonico's potatoes. All excellently prepared as always. Dessert menu is seasonal and not updated on the website which was a bit disappointing. Overall, we had a great meal and would go back. I appreciated the location in Midtown but the original in lower Manhattan will always be my favorite.

Attended an office function here, and there were roaming hors d'oeuvres they were really really good. Buffet was average but the atmosphere was wonderful. I would definitely recommend.

We had a post theater reservation for 7. We picked Delmonico's Kitchen because "a Steakhouse" was requested by one of the diners and Delmonico's Kitchen was walking distance from the theater and had a great groupon. The decor/ambiance is a bit dated so we were somewhat disappointed walking through the door, but it was immediately apparent that the staff was special. We were traveling with my mother-in-law, who at 93, is in a wheel chair for city trips. Doors were held and extra attention given as we made our way to the table to make sure she was properly settled in. The wait staff was very helpful with menu questions, etc. We settled on 3 appetizers to share: the flatbread of the day (lobster - yummy), the onion rings (yummy) and the bacon plate to share (over-the-top delicious!). As all three plates arrived at the table simultaneously, the waiter asked "Ladies, can we assist you with the appetizers" and then plated the dishes for each of us. Being in a steak house, most of us ordered steak - very good, but not the best steak I have ever had. I personally found the peppercorn butter to be a bit too peppery, but everybody else enjoyed it. One diner ordered the burger - delish; and the home made cavatelli were very, very good. For dessert, we split two Baked Alaska - also very good. We were there for a couple hours and never felt rushed. It was a delightful evening.

First time visiting Delmonico's and was very impressed. From the hostess to the waiting staff, service was great. Ordered the boneless ribeye and might be one of the best steaks I've ever had. Appetizers, sides and bottle of wine which was recommended by our waiter did not disappoint. Delicious! Will definitely be back.

From the moment we opened the entrance door this was such a lovely experience. We were made to feel so welcome and the service was both charming and first class. An extensive menu made choosing difficult but as this was our first visit we selected the signature steak - cooked, prepared and presented to perfection and absolutely divine. Sorry to all the vegans, gluten free and vegetarians and people who need to be surgically removed from their devices - I was only interested in choosing a meat option and not being distracted from my husband or my food.

My adult son and I visited the city in early March for our first time there. This gem of a restaurant was our first night's dinner. It was a weekday and a bit late, but there were seats available. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive. There is a good drink and cocktails menu to start the meal. A red wine was my choice and my son enjoyed a whisky drink. We each had a steak (filet and a strip, I think.) and ordered two sides to share, mushrooms and the potatoes. Everything was amazing. It's an upscale environment, so go looking at least business casual. Prices are high even compared to just the NYC restaurants we found on our 5 day stay. This one was hands down the most expensive. As long as you are prepared for that, go. It was a great meal.

Lunch time catch up with friends from New York and Los Angelos - really fabulous food - we all had the set menu and was excellent - my fillet mignon was superb and all this including another course for $32. But must mention the host Dennis - he even went out in a rainstorm to get one of our group yellow grapefruit juice - he came back with 4 small cans absolutely drenched - can't ask your host to do any more - 5 bloody stars to that man

We dined here with friends and made reservations for a Sunday evening. The service was good, although our waiter signed us off to another server midway through dinner (puzzling for a very average-length dinner). And the steak was yummy. But when we compared notes afterward, my husband and I agreed it was a disappointment. The bread, the recommended appetizer (Billy's house cured bacon), and the dessert (banana cream pie parfait) were average fare. Not a bad dinner. Just not special.

The atmosphere is very nice. Drinks were well made - Moscow Mules were nice & strong! We tried to order a Caesar salad with shrimp - waiter said shrimp on the salad was only at lunch. Really? We even tried to press it a bit & he said no. I think they could have thrown some shrimp on it at dinner! Anyway, the plain Caesar was super bland. Other than that, the rest of the food & service was fantastic. Shrimp risotto - excellent! Steak, burrata, etc - also excellent.

I dined here with coworkers while in town for a business trip. We had a very nice experience. We all had a wedge salad which was very tasty. I had the salmon with tomato jelly, which was excellent. My coworkers had the lobster mac and cheese, and steak. We all enjoyed our meals. The wine was also very good. The staff were very knowledgeable and made suggestions that helped us choose what to order.

The wait staff was good and did like that they told you the price of the specials before you ordered.e.g. $90 for a 20 oz lobster tail, so you won't have sticker shock or you order something else. I had the lobster cocktail. Although cracked and easy to get to, it was just ok. My husband and I each had steak. His strip steak had a big piece of grizzle in it, that I thought it was a bone. Best thing was dessert. Not going back. Too many other good restaurants

My husband booked a table here before we left the UK as a surprise for me on our 25th Wedding Anniversary. He had seen a review in a local paper and we were not disappointed. Both food and service were brilliant. It's not cheap but it was easily the best place we had dinner in New York.

In NYC with a group of friends and decided we wanted a steak for dinner. What a find in this gem in midtown. All of our meals were outstanding. The Delmonico’s steak melted as I cut it. Two ordered filet and they were among the best ever - anywhere! Crab Mac and cheese and the mushrooms and onions were great too. Warm chocolate chip cookie with coconut ice cream was outstanding too! Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and colleagues!

I had visited their older restaurant in the down town business district many years ago and loved the place. This additional steak house in mid town not for t=from the theatre district is in a great location. Reservations were accepted. Wait staff was wonderful. The steelhead trout and lobster dish was delicious as well as the excellently prepared bone in steak, Skipped dessert due needed time to get to the theatre. The only thing that was nor acceptable was that we ordered with our steak dinner their French fries with gruyere cheese, but after asking 3 times ( and ten minutes) where they were when my steak arrived, they appeared after I had eaten my dinner. Why should a side dish take so long to prepare. Either a problem in the kitchen or a problem with our waiter picking up his orders. I would definitely return when in the area again since the meals were delicious.

We were seated promptly but interestingly the restaurant was never full on a warm midweek evening. The food quality was good and prices were in line with typical Manhattan steakhouse prices, but our party was annoyed at little petty things. We had two non drinkers in the group that ordered iced tea, and were disappointed to find that no free refills are provided, despite ordering a $59 T-bone steak (16 oz) and the others had $15 glasses of wine. Come on, the tea probably costs 10 cents a cup to make, and at $3.50 a glass for refills you must be kidding!

I have visited many steak houses in NYC and Long island. this steak house for the prices is definitely sub par in every way. Firstly the service was definitely unacceptable in every way from waiting for almost 20 minutes to receive a first round of drinks to asking 4 times to receive some bread before ordering any appetizers/meal. The service was really poor with extremely long wait times, not to mention they put tables for 2 as if you are dining with the party next to you, literally right on top of each other. After finally ordering our meal we had to wait over 1 hour to receive it ...We ordered filet mignon which was a very low grade of filet with much fat to the meat , along with over cooked Brussels sprouts.....A definitely skip in NYC too many other great steakhouses with outstanding service for the price!!

My daughter turned 13 and wanted to go to dinner at a New York steak house. I found a deal on groupon for this place and it was worth it. I had the Caesar salad which was impeccable. I ordered the delmonico steak and delmonico potatoes and both were superb. I honestly have never had a better steak in my life. My daughter had the onion rings, which were typical but good, and the filet mignon and whipped potatoes and was very impressed. For $150 dollars worth of dinner I paid $76 dollars on groupon and it was worth every cent including the 400 mile trip to New York City!

Everything was wonderful, except my steak was a bit over cooked. Ordered medium rare, was medium or a bit past medium. Really unacceptable for a storied steakhouse legend like Delmonico's. Oysters were sublime, martinis were ice cold, the wedge salad was nicely prepared, service was very professional. The manager did buy us a complimentary glass of port after dinner, so all is forgiven on the steak temperature. Overall a very nice option for a classic steakhouse dinner in Midtown.

Only my third 5⭐️ review ever and well deserved. In NYC for T-Day with the family. Reminiscing of my other NYC 5⭐️favorite, Delmonico's (downtown), we called to see if they were open for T-Day. Not open but they suggested we try their sister restaurant on W. 36th. Greeted by Mr. Oliva and showered with kindness, we spent 20 minutes discussing our pre fixe choices for the four course meal and enjoying fresh bread. Family style sides included creamed spinach, yams, and stuffing. I started with the warm potato salad with 36-hour smoked bacon. Wow! Hard to find the words for this specialty. Our threesome ordered two filet's and I had the Delmonico (prepared medium) for an up-charge. Each steak was hailed as impeccable; quality, quantity and preparation. Typical "Delmonico's." Service was highly professional, unobtrusive and ever watchful. Management sent us each a glass of port, on the house, with our check. Not a traditional turkey dinner for us, but ever so thankful for such a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with our small family and the staff of Delmonico's Kitchen.

We started with the bacon appetizer which was fantastic. We then both ordered the Delmonico because hey, that is what they are famous for. The reputation is earned. The steaks were delicious and also absolutely huge. You could easily split it with someone. We also got the Delmonico potatoes and another potato dish that was very good (hash browns, I think, I forget now). Both were quite unique, not just potatoes but nice spicing, cheese, and something like Italian ham. We didn't want to be "boring" and just get fries but we saw someone who did and they looked perfect, hand cut and crispy. Would consider getting them next time that looked that good. We had dessert too which included a sundae with multiple flavors all in one and even had a banana in it. We also had the key lime chocolate tart. That was small but tasty. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will be going back and we don't live in the city so it is an expense just to get there. But we think this place is worth it. I would recommend it. Just be prepared for the pricing of a NY steakhouse.

Had a groupon. You must have one or be prepared to fork over some Benjamins. That is not a shock for a higher end NYC steakhouse. The food is good, but I have had better red meat elsewhere in Gotham City. Went prior to the Super Bowl and the place was not packed. Despite the lack of a crowd, I did not view the service as particularly good. Had quite a wait for bread and water. Waiter apologized, but the pace remained slow throughout the meal. There was enough staff that I thought service should have been smoother. I have had a better experience at the original Delmonico's downtown.

Filet mignon was perfectly cooked, soft and barely pink. Squash with mozzarella cheese appetizer was very interesting. Mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts were delicious. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Menu is seasonal. Banana parfait were excellent.

We were invited to my nephew's wedding rehearsal dinner at Delmonico's Kitchen, and it was an outstanding meal. Our group was ushered upstairs to a private dining room, where a bar was set up for the evening, despite the fact that a cocktail hour had already been held at Junipers, one block away. We started with a Cesar salad, which was outstanding and had the option (yes, please!) of anchovies, which made it extra special. We both followed with a fillet mignon, which was not only one of the largest, but best cooked offerings of this dish that we have ever tasted. Dessert was New York City Cheesecake, which was so good that I had to eat one that was left behind by another relative who left early. His loss. Despite the large group, the wait staff was attentive and accommodating. This was an outstanding meal, and I would definitely recommend it to others visiting NYC who want a "New York Steakhouse" experience, and we would return without question (at our own expense, next time, unfortunately) on another visit to The Big Apple.

I love this place. I go at least once whenever I am in NYC. Walk in off the busy street and the hostess immediately warmly greets you, and gladly checks your bag or coat. The bar is adorned with dapper men in suits and elegant business women, all laughing and chatting with the staff and management. You immediately feel as if you stepped into a period of time previous to now, in old New York, before midtown became epicenter of quick bite chains and lost tourists reading smart phones. The menu is fairly strict, and that's OK. No modifications but order as a much as you want. The carpaccio was my favorite, but you cannot go wrong with the bacon, the steak frites, the burger, any of the seafood dishes, or of course more robust steaks. The bar provides a different menu; a bit more comfort food but still well designed, tasty, and the portions much like in the dining room are healthy. The wine list is fantastic, and they never let a glass go empty. I've been there with one other person for a quiet dinner and important conversation, or I've taken 10 people from my team for more of a boisterous celebration. The service always matches the ambience and the mood you are trying to strike, it never fails, and it's always professional. When I wanted to surprise a couple friends visiting for their anniversary, I made them a reservation here, went in early to buy them a bottle of champagne, and the staff treated them like VIPs. They said it was a "once in a lifetime experience they could never repay." That's what Delmonico's Kitchen provides. Food, drinks, service, and memories. I can't recommend this place enough. I've read the other reviews. You need to be seeking something very special to appreciate Delmonico's Kitchen. You need to have an affinity for old New York, or at least be fascinated by it. You will not regret it.

Tried this as couldn't get into Keens before the Billy Joel show at MSG .. Glad I did , having been to Londons best steakhouses Hawksmoor , Goodmans and Gaucho I can safely say this place topped all of them .. In my opinion you go to a steakhouse for steak and red wine .. and here it's top notch .. We had the worst table by the cashier as very busy but when food is as good as what they dished out who cares .. I can't understand why this is ranked so low ...

I've purchased a groupon deal for this place for my trip to NY. I didn't think I'd need to make a reservation way in advance but when I called the day before the restaurant was already fully booked. Since I was in NY for only 2 days, I decided to go to Delmonico's anyway to see if we can get a table. The manager was extremely nice about our situation and we were able to get a table. The food was great (i had the Delmonico's steak with fries).

I split the Porterhouse and another member of our party got the Delmonico which is a 20 ounce bone-in Rib Eye. The Porterhouse was fantastic but the Delmonico was even better. The service was very attentive. Good wine list selection with some good values on the list. The Alta Vista Malbec went great with our meal. The dining room can get loud because of hard tile on the walls. Plan on spending at least $100 per person after wine, but for us it was definitely worth it.

They wanted to eat lunch when they arrived in NYC. I arrived the day before. I walked around and found this near the hotel. We had wine, salads, soup, short rib and 2 filet mignons. They shared choc cake and cheesecake and two of us had espresso. Total bill $132 before tax. Excellent service, excellent food. No holds barred, go here. It's near Times Square, about 10 blocks south, but better than 'Bubba Gump' shrimp, guaranteed.

Must have been there on an off night. Ordered french fries, but the kitchen was having problems and could not make them. Wanted mushrooms, but no (I have never been in a steak house without mushrooms). Asked if they could assemble a Steak Oscar (all of the ingredients were on the menu. No. Okay then... But excellent service (our waiter was upbeat, helpful and willing to check in the kitchen for my (for this place) unusual requests. And our steaks were all cooked to our specifications (and the fish special was excellent). Just.... no mushrooms.... really?

I've been with clients several times, as one of our biggest agencies is located in the building. The food and service are always top notch and you can't beat the convenience. It's a great atmosphere for business - you can have a conversation without getting interrupted or drowned out by noise. The prices are definitely designed for the expense account set, but if that's not a problem, I'd highly recommend and will continue to come back. My only complaint was with a steak salad recently, that although delicious, had some grizzle which should have been seen and removed before serving. Do not think I'll order that again but there are plenty of other safe options.

A lovely traditional steakhouse, small enough to be intimate, yet offers a large menu of NY classics. Steaks are delicious, and great wine list.

food was pricey and not prepared well and sub-par cuts of beef. It was presented as a 5 star Steakhouse, 3 star at best. Ordered their classic Ribeye medium rare, was presented with a thin grocery store cut, (not thick like they used to be) and it was medium well. Only reason i did not send back is we had show tickets and had no more time. Pass on this place if you looking for a good steakhouse in Manhattan.

This establishment has no curb appeal or outdoor seating but once you step through the door it is pleasant to the eyes. Convenient to subway and Penn Station and two blocks away from Madison Square Garden and within walking distance from Times Square. The wait staff was friendly and helpful with the menu choices, and the Restaurant Week dishes—petite filet mignonette, shrimp risotto—were well prepared and tasty. Couples and large groups can be equally accommodated. Glad that Delmonico’s is close by!

The food was amazing and the server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We stopped in on a recommendation from someone else who is employed near the restaurant. I ordered the "tomahawk" steak. Which was the largest piece of steak I have ever seen on a plate in my life. It was cooked to perfection. Our appetizer was the slab bacon which was cooked with a sweet glaze. It was amazing. I am definitely going back.

I love everything about Delmonico's Kitchen. The shrimp risotto is out of this world, the staff make you feel like family and it's centrally located and perfect for bringing out of town friends.

I went to this restaurant as part of my mission to sample the steaks of as many chop houses as I could in my short New York stay. It was a Sunday so perhaps that is why it was very quiet but I was still surprised. Nice bar and a young bar tender and friendly maitre'd take my order for a NY cut sirloin and a bottle of Italian Chianti. The wine was suttle and good value for the price, so lets see how the steak is. Well at first appearance I knew it wasnt going to be up to expectations...Although he confirmed it was dry aged, and used a broiler I could see the moisture running from the meat and this meant it was not broiled as they are in other top steakhouses where you see and taste the crust and a minimal amount of juices flow from the steak yet the tenderness is there. Anyway i made no complaint as the piece was tender so i proceeded to enjoy the wine instead..... Pricing was comparable to other chop houses...

We came here as we had a $200 Groupon. It was $150 for a $200 certificate plus 25% off for black Friday. The total cost was about $110. The staff was great. My strip steak was so-so but my fiance filet mignon was great. The sides were tasty. Great meal.

You're coming here for steak not a steakhouse vibe. As soon as you enter, you know this is not a steakhouse. It's very casual and incredibly convenient to Penn Station. We started with the crab cake. It was okay, but nothing special. The presentation was nice, however the mustard dressing was the only mistep of the entire meal. It completely overwhelmed the crab. What was special were the steaks and service. Oswaldo, our waiter, knew the menu well and was able to answer any question we had without hesitation. Omar, our server, perfectly complimeted Oswaldo as neither missed a step and were always available without being overbearing. As for the steaks, this is Delmonico's. We had the Delmonico (medium) and the Strip (medium-rare), both were cooked to perfection. We only had one side, Delmonico's Potatoes and they were also very good. As for the nay sayers, as I stated, this is not a steakhouse vibe, the steaks are steakhouse quality.

Went before a concert at near-by Madison Square Garden. Shared a seafood platter appetizer and split a delmonico steak, sliced at request, and iceberg salad as entree. Plenty of food, great service and atmosphere!

Was in the neighborhood for business meetings and got out late-ish. I wanted to eat nearby before going home. The last time I'd passed by in early March, there was a Billy Joel concert at MSG, so the place was packed. It's really not the kind of place to go by oneself, but the choices in that area are quite limited. At the original Delmonico's downtown, you can sit in the bar and have a really nice steak sandwich. At a little past 7:00 p.m., there were only men at the bar, which made me uncomfortable. So I asked to sit in the quietest spot in the dining room. The hostess brought me into the next room and said that I could sit anywhere. The few tables that were occupied were in the center of the room and had parties of three to five people. I sat on a banquette that runs along the side wall. EVERYWHERE in the room was noisy. It seems people go there not for dining in the traditional sense, but rather to "live it up." There was a lot of neck-craning and loud talk. All the patrons in the bar and dining rooms were well in their fifties (as I am) and older. I may have been the only New Yorker in the room; it appeared that the others were commuters through nearby Penn Station. They may or may not have known that the "Kitchen" is really nothing like the original Delmonico's. I ordered the Delmonico medium rare and a side order of sauteed spinach. The server was very courteous and genuinely hospitable. Unfortunately, the steak arrived crusted with salt and a bit tough. By then it was 7:30 and I was famished, not having had lunch. But I sent it back anyway as it was $50 (alone-the spinach was another $10). The waiter took it back, but told me that "The salt is part of the preparation, so if you don't like it that way you should tell me." When I worked in the Wall Street area I ate at the original Delmonico's countless times, but that was more than five years ago and I don't remember the bit about the salt. While waiting I ate the spinach, which was dripping with oil- and I don't think it was olive oil but just plain canola or corn oil. The waiter very nicely asked me if I wanted another order of spinach to be served with the second steak. I said "No thanks, this one was just dripping with oil. I only ate it because I'm that hungry." He apologized and got another one, which was brought with the no-salt steak. The Delmonico arrived done much more rare than medium-rare. I didn't mind because it was much more tender than the first one. The spinach was not oily this time, and a much larger portion-which I didn't necessarily want, but took as an apology. I ended up taking half of the second round home. By the way, the rolls were fresh but just plain white bread and not any better than anyone else's. Without a doubt I've gotten steak just as good in regular restaurants. Altogether it cost around $80 with the tax and the tip. If I'd had a glass of wine or coffee and dessert, it would have been more like $100. I felt it was important to leave a generous tip because the waiter was so nice. He's the only reason this review gives three stars instead of two. For all that, if you find yourself near Penn Station or MSG and don't feel like hiking up to their sister restaurant Arno you could do worse.

I only went here because someone else paid. :) But it was delicious all the way around, and actually pretty worth the price, which I think a lot of places aren't. I would recommend going for lunch, where the prices are more reasonable, but you still get a lot of food. I got a salmon dish with spaghetti squash and it was the best salmon I've had in awhile. I love salmon, but never get it since it really needs to be cooked right.

The atmosphere was excellent for business dinners, but not among friends. The restaurant seemed too pretentious. Our waiter was not very friendly. After ordering a bottle of wine, the waiter was quite disappointed that we only ordered a couple of appetizers. Mind you, the restaurant was not brimming with customers when we ate at the establishment. The food was excellent, just wished the service was at the same level.

We were planning on eating at Keene's steakhouse following our visit to the Empire State Building but they couldn't accommodate us so we walked down to Delmonico's for dinner. I had a great steak dinner complete with shrimp cocktail, salad and awesome potatoes! Would go back!

Bought a groupon for this place. The bacon starter was definitely a winner! Sinful but worth it - the serving was more than enough for the 4 of us. Then we split 2 orders of the Delmonico steak (their house specialty) and it was good! Very tasty, moderate marbling so not so fatty. Service was good too. This place may just be a little expensive but we didn't leave disappointed.

It's steak in NYC. It's a chain that has consistent food and service. There are just too many outstanding steakhouses here. Because it is close to the train or MSG, it is very convenient. Nothing stands out. Not a destination place but if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed.

food was delicious, but one of the steaks was overcooked and had to be redone, which they did with a smile, but that meant that 2 of us ate our meals while the third had to wait. Was told one price for a corkage fee (25) and then charged a much higher price (35) (and both are way to high in any event). Wine prices are very high. I do recommend the restaurant and would visit again, but would be more careful about alcohol pricing.
Great food and service
I reserved a table for me and my wife for our anniversary dinner. I ordered a Delmonico steak and was quite surprised that it was so tender despite being wet aged (I prefer dry). I also ordered the chilled lobster appetizer. Everything was fantastic. Aside from the great food, our server Eloy made us feel tremendously welcome. I will definitely return.
