Always Stop Here Before Leaving Little Italy

By vino2go50 |

Di Palo's has fantastic choices of meets and cheeses and they are very helpful no matter how long the line is. Grab a number as soon as you walk in near the door or you will wait a long time. If you are traveling and want something to eat in your room after a long day, they have it and a number of things to create your own meat and cheese plates. Have come here to take out food for dinner after wasting money on a crappy dinner down the street. Always happy to come here for the fennel salumi from Italy.

Super quality foods Super nice service

You can buy hard to find Italian Mortadella here. My favorite is prosciutto with truffle, all imported from Italy. I am not very adventurous on cheeses but really enjoyed the blue cheese soaked in wine.

DiPalo's Fine Foods

By YankeefanFrank |

Firstly, a couple of things: In spite of what TripAdvisor says, DiPalo's is in Little Italy, not Chinatown. And it is not a restaurant. I had to use that section because that's the only food related section available. Hint TripAdvisor, add like a miscellaneous category. Anyway, if you like Italian delicacies, cheese, salumi, prepared food, this is THE place to go! DiPalo's is a family business, with the fifth generation now working there. They sell cheeses from all over Italy, including one from up in the mountains, made by only one place in the world. The choice is almost endless. They also make mozzarella and buratta in house all day and it's delicious! Prosciutto, bresaola, mortadella and almost countless varieties of salami are all available. In addition to house made fresh ravioli, which is outrageously good, DiPalo's makes several prepared foods daily. Salads, chicken, sausage and peppers, meatballs and so much more. All of them wonderful. Their eggplant parmigiana is my Friday night dinner, every Friday unless I'm not around. They have coffee, bread, grissini, condiments, home made sauces. You name it, if it's Italian, you'll probably find it at DiPalo's and it will be REALLY good. As if that isn't enough, the have a wine shop, Enoteca DiPalo, right next door. So go, go hungry and go often. You won't be sorry.

Wonderful NEW Wine and cheese Bar

We discover this place, by chance, near Little Italy. Just opened last week at I51-153 Mott st. An extension of Di Palo’s cheese which is at Grand and Mott Streets. The service was wonderful. The cheeses were so good. They had a great cheeses and meats and bread. The second time we went we had one of their paninis and it was delicious as well. Definitely would go back

Iconic Deli in Little Italy

While staying in a local Airbnb rental I picked up dinner several times. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was all excellent, especially the homemade mozzarella cheese, which my family ate in about three minutes!

Incredible Italian Food Experience.

A wonderful place with so many Italian cheeses, meats, olive oils, pastas and other things Italian from all over Italy. Great history as well, about 120 yrs old with the same family owners who return to Italy several times a year to connect with the family businesses where they make their purchases. This is Eataly on a small family level. They also have a fabulous wine store with wines from all over Italy. And they also have a wine bar which is beautiful with tasty wines and food from their shops. A must place to visit!

Great New Wine Bar

By Tony R |

Run by the next generation of Di Palos, C DiPalo is a fun, new wine bar just around the corner from the legendary Italian food store in the heart of NYC’s Little Italy. Traditional panini (one panino, two panini) are served with outstanding wines in a hip, well-designed setting. 100 years of family food knowledge is here, and it is a good value, too.

# 1 Choice

The best of the best ! The finest and most complete selection of fine meats and cheeses. So friendly you will swear that you are part of their family ... and you are from the first hello. They have been making fresh mozzarella for 110 years. Imported and aged cheese... I feel like I'm eating the flavor of Italy just like they did in Little Italy of the early 1900's. A must do, I always make this my first and last stop when I visit. I even book a room in the same block, I'm hooked on Di Pallos .... The most authentic and seriously Italian shop ever.

Bufala Mozzarella Snack

By RC_Tours |

It is one of the best "North American" bufala mozzarella I have ever tasted. Nothing compares to Italy but if you are in the area it is a must stop. The store looks like it has all the typical Italian foods so I'm sure the locals are in heaven with this store.

Best Mozzarella in NYC!

By misopiso88 |

I travel to NYC once a month for work and I always stop at Di Palo's for mozzarella to bring back to the family in Seattle. Sooooooooo.... good! There is always a huge line to take a number and be zen....it is worth the wait!

go but get a number

By citysuburb |

I'm only giving it 5 stars because I assume you'll read this or see one of the signs inside that says "get a number." yes, get a number. still, be prepared to wait. but, if you wait for a long time for service before you know you need a number and then have to wait much, much longer because the shop has crowded up with people who knew to get a number, this place won't be so much fun. obviously a community treasure. we saw many people getting very long lists of this and that from behind the counter. every person seemed to take at least 10 minutes. while there were 4 - 6 people working there, the personal nature of the service provided means you might just have to wait to partake.

Best Of here

My long time favorite grocery stop for cheese and meats, and lots of goodies. One must go when in the area.

Great Meats

By Jaso Hug |

The meat here is just great, I don't know what they do or if there's some kind of old-style way they produce it but I come here for all my cold cuts.
