Excellent Dim Sum! Highly recommend this place. Will visit again for sure. Went to this place since I read good reviews. They were right!

My family of 4 dropped in for happy hour when dim sum was 50% off. The kids loved it and bellies were happily stuffed for under 50 bucks. The kids enjoyed trying new things.

We were walking down the street from our hotel looking for a place to eat. It was 10:20pm on a Sunday night. We didn't want Chinese food, but they were open so we went in and were warmly welcomed. It looks like a hole in the wall and perhaps it is but it is rather nice inside. We got General Tso's Chicken and King Pao Chicken. Delicious. The chicken was plump, white chicken meat, not some fatty thigh reject. Perfectly seasoned, moist, and full of flavor. The crust on the General Tso was perfect. The service was very attentive. The portions were huge and served hot. This is a hidden gem to be enjoyed.

I went for lunch with my friend. I had ordered Vegetarian Platter Dumplings and Spicy Mushroom. He ordered Shumai and Shrimp and Chives. I would say that it was one of the good places to have dumplings. They were pretty soft and it melts in mouth.I would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to visit soon again.

We had lunch at Dim Sum Palace on a recent visit to New York. They have several locations, this was the restaurant on West 56th Street. It is a storefront restaurant with seating on the ground level and upper levels. The sign of a good Asian restaurant is if they attract an Asian clientele. This one passed the test! You order from a picture menu. In addition to conventional Chinese food and lunch specials, they have a dim sum menu. That is why we came. Everything seems to be $6.00 to $8.00. We ordered three dim sum dishes. We ordered hot and sour soup. We ordered a pit of tea. Everything was excellent. We would return.

On a recent trip we went to the Dim Sum Palace on 56th street NYC. First time we ate down stairs and had good service and the food was good. We went back again ate up stairs, service not so good, had to send the Shrimp dumplings back as they smelled old. Not sure if we will try it again

Dim Sum Palace has very good dim sum. This location is more comfortable than the 46th Street one. The dim sum menu has helpful pictures. Wait staff is quite good. Menu offers more than dim sum.

I visited the restaurant last Monday with my daughter. It must be noted that this is the best Dim sam I have ever eaten in the world. But ... When I wanted to pay the bill the waitress said the card was not charge - and after 3 attempts to pay my visa credit fee - the restaurant's system announced that the payment had not been received. After 2 attempts with another credit card - I received a message again that the charge was not received I had to pay in cash and leave the place ... Unfortunately, I find that the charge was received 3 times on one card and twice on the other. Actually I paid 6 times for one meal !! Since I do not live in NYC, I do not have a way to go to the restaurant to cancel all the charges. If it's a mistake and not a fraud attempt, I ask the restaurant management to contact me as soon as possible and act to cancel the credit debits. This is a visit made on June 19 around 4 pm - a charge of $ 14.51 after you will do the honest thing to do- i will change my review call me asap 972-52-3010891

We came here for lunch during a recent rip to NYC, and it was so good we rearranged our schedule to go back once more before we left town. Very large selection of dim sum at lunch (around 50 items). Everything is freshly prepared, staff is helpful. Highly recommended: just make sure you go early, because the place fills up quickly.

My wife is from HK and I lived there for over 15 years, so we know a good dim sum place when we find one, and this is excellent! The dim sum selection is quite broad and the accompanying menu is also very comprehensive with Cantonese classics. The dim sum taste and look cooked to order and a couple of them (the char siu cheung fan and the char siu bao) were as good as we've ever had, with the siu mai and har gow not far behind. They are all half price between 3.00pm and 6.00pm so we'll probably go back for afternoon tea sometime very soon. Service is quite acceptable and they have several beers available - not sure about wine or spirits.

This place just opened recently , our hotel just two blocked away. Modern decor , clean , extensive dim sum menu plus regular canton style dishes. . The price of dim sum reasonable , 5/8 dollars depends on material . The service is ok , need reminder at times .4 of us shared Shrimp dumpling , chicken feet ,bbq pork bun ,Shanghai soup dumpling , veggie spring roll , scallion pancake and beef hofun , all good , not outstanding. This beat going to Flushing and Chinatown .

I went for Dim Sum Monday (during Labor Day weekend) during the Happy Hour advertised on their Menu, but they refused to honor the happy hour pricing. The menu and web site says Happy Hour is Mon - Fri 3-5. Although I was there on a Monday, they said it was a holiday so they did not honor their own advertising. But for that, I would have enjoyed the food and the service, but the deceptive pricing left a sour taste in my mouth.

Being Chinese Canadian, you get the craving every now and then, and in places like Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto (even Calgary - Chinatown is the first thing as you drive into the city), but in New York I never seem to get far outside of Mid-town on my trips and the Chinese food has traditionally been passable (i.e. I'll pass). But then I found this place earlier this month. I won't say it is is the best Dim Sum I have ever had, but it's good and the Cantonese food they serve up calms the crave. Dropped in for a late lunch - congee with 1000 y.o. egg and pork, a basket of steamed dumplings and was certainly satisfied. Told work colleagues about it and ended up back there the next day for late night beer and dim sum. For mid-town it is definitely not pricey (and 1/2 price 3-5:00 happy hour). Saves you the time and subway fare down to Mott St. Standard Cantonese fare and you know it's good because 4/5 of the patrons are speaking Chinese.

Came across Dim Sum Place while looking for a place to have a dim sum breakfast in midtown. The restaurant is located on Restaurant Row, on 47th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. Bigger than it looks from the outside, with a front and back room. The front room is the nicer of the two spaces. Service is prompt and professional but I wouldn't call it polished. One of the things I particularly liked about Dim Sum Palace is that you order the specific dim sum you want from a menu that contains both names and pictures of the items offered, unlike many of the dim sum halls in Chinatown where you get what happens to be on the cart that is rolling by you. The selection of available items was large and the quality was excellent. We liked so much, that after finishing we ordered take-out to have for breakfast the next day at home. If you're in midtown and don't want to venture south, Dim Sum Palce is the place to go for dim sum. I look forward to going back, and highly recommend it to you.

Newish place serving dim sum to office workers and tourists alike, actually surprisingly authentic. We had the usual pork shiu mai, shrimp dumplings, rice rolls and fried noodles - all tasted good and fresh. Will go back again.

Food actually very nice Fresh dumplings great selection! Chopped chicken on lettuce really superb! Singapore noodles tasty. Just service , removing plates much to soon , reaching over. Touching platesnot empty- just really uncomfortably hurrying thru your meal- Not nice

We were looking for an indoor dining experience for lunch, and Dim Sum Palace welcomed us warmly. Staff followed all distancing and cleaning protocols scrupulously, and we felt quite safe and comfortable there. The menu was extensive, and included many great lunch specials. We opted for noodle dishes, which did not disappoint! Everything was tasty, nicely presented, and perfectly prepared. Portions were beyond generous, prices frankly low. The staff was gracious, attentive and helpful. Recommend very highly, and will definitely return!

You'll find really good dimsum here. And the service is A+++! They are very attentive, removing empty plates and replacing plates for you. Everyone's smiling too. Where do you find such in a Chinese restaurant? I would highly recommend this place. Kind of pricey compared to most dimsum places but it's very well worth it. Very close to 5th Avenue shopping and Central Park and away from the crowds of Time Square. Try the deep fried spare ribs and salt pepper prawns.

Waitress advised the soup dumplings, "That's what people come here for." The soup dumplings were...average. Ordered vegetable fried rice...average. Ordered Mango Chicken...average. And after we order, "You pay cash, we prefer." It was more of a directive, not a request.

High quality dim sum in a place that does not seem to justify a second look. All the dim sum were great but especially liked the juicy buns

My wife and I walked in as we were waiting for someone and wanted a bite to eat. The place was busy at 9pm, which isn’t surprising given its location. We had the veggie dim sum and chicken peanut dishes, both were good. Cucumber salad was bland, but that’s not why you come here. Service was effective (not a crack of a smile but these guys mean business...). All in all a pleasant surprise in the NYC touristy heartland

We had a lovely brunch, the staff was attentive and the food was delicious. It’s located a short walk from St Patrick’s cathedral and Central Park. I would eat here regularly if I lived in the city!

It is a great place for those who love dimsum. We met them in Shanghai for the first time and since then, we hadn't been able to find a place that made them even similar. The owners are Chinese and all the employees who work here are of the same origin. To order the food they chose a menu with alternatives to choose from by marking with a pencil; An ingenious solution to language communication problems. Each dish has a photo, so the choice is made easier. The attention is very personalized and friendly. The service is fast, so it is also recommended when you have to have lunch with limited time. It has several floors with dining rooms and is suitable for work meetings and meetings with friends, too. An aside: the place fills up with orientals for lunch; They like to eat food from home. I suggest arriving early for lunch. They also have takeout.

Not fancy but clean with good food. It is apparently a place where locals stop to have dinner. Reasonable prices, attentive service, white tablecloths. Good experience. We will go back

We were in Central Park for the day so stopped at this restaurant for dim sum rather than going all the way down to Chinatown. It's a nice, spacious place with two levels and a good menu. The service was good, as was the food. Nothing exceptional, just solid. We would probably stop in again if in the area.

Oh what a brilliant place! Not much to look at from outside and no dim sum trollies (we went specifically for dim sum) - but OH MY - the Service was EXCEPTIONAL - they couldn’t have tried harder to look after us! The food was absolutely delicious too. Thank you Dim Sum Palace we’ll be back! (We went to 33rd St)

Newly opened dim sum place has a wide variety of very good food. Service is very good and very fast. Different from the othe very good Chinese places on 55th. All worth trying

dim sum plus much more. Had the lamb chops. Excellent. Great attentive service. Everything was good. Busy restaurant street, but do not miss this one!

Server suggested spicy mushroom dumplings and they were great. Should have ordered more to have as an entree. Other food tasty. Green beans with garlic not spicy and very al dente.

This is a true dim sum palace ! A great variety of different dim sum and you can’t go wrong with any selection. Super tasty!!

After a morning in Central Park we were thrilled to find a place to have dumplings. The service was well timed and the food was good. It was strange to not be greeted or spoken to. We were given a paper menu with pictures so we could make our choices.

Great quick lunch. Wonton soup spring rolls and dumplings all excellent. Server was good as well Only thing didn’t love was the salt and pepper Shrimp which I requested no shell and received no shell but inauthentic version of what was basically beer battered shrimp. Not sure why they couldn’t use same process and flavoring with no shell. Minor gripe

Great little place with excellent food and service. I had Mu Shu Pork (sp) it was delicious. Great selection of Dim Sum choices.

Thought I’d go here for a quick meal after work whilst on a business trip. Reviews seemed good and food looked nice. I ordered chicken dim sum to start and sesame chicken with rice as my main. I ate two of the dim sum and found them to be very chewy. Only when I cut into the third to inspect I found to my horror it was under cooked and raw. See picture. I was kind of hoping nothing bad would come of it. I really didn’t enjoy my main as was cutting into the meat to check it was cooked ok too - not what you want to be doing on a meal. In the end I left virtually 3/4 of my plate. The restaurant was good enough to take the dim sum off the check and a 20% discount. However the fun started later that night with me being very sick with food poisoning. It pretty much wiped out my business trip. Never again. Cooking food to right temperature is a simple but important task. I’m sure it doesn’t happen to all their dishes but I’m never going again. Not worth the risk to my health.

We were in the mood for some Dim sum but didn’t feel like trekking down to China so Dim Sum Palace felt like a good option. Pretty good variety of dim sum dishes all pretty descent. Service was good and welcoming.

I visited on a Saturday morning and was surprised to be seated with no wait whatsoever! It looks like things get rolling closer to lunchtime here... I ordered the dim sum sampler, which was a nice introduction to their steamed offerings. The individual offerings were even better. Har gow are great, with plump, sweet shriimp and perfect texture, the spicy mushroom dumplings were addictively good, and the shrimp-stuffed tofu (fried) had a great contrast of flavors and textures. Tea was excellent, and the wait staff were very attentive without hovering at all. It's great to have such a good meal in midtown without terrible sticker shock. And it's also great to be able to get here so easily from one of the many hotels in the area. I look forward to coming back.

We enjoyed our Dim Sum here, and it better than a number of other places we have tried over the years. The really good Dim Sum places have closed for some reason, but this is good. The dumplings material itself is a bit thick & heavy, and not light. If this material were lighter & thinner, we would have rated the food even higher. The Crab Soup Dumpling flavor($9.50) was excellent. Most of Dim Sum run $5.50/order. The Pork Shrimp Buns, Seafood Dumplings & Bamboo dumplings were all very good. The food is brought out quickly & hot, which is great, and better than places that use a cart to bring the Dim Sum. Definitely will go back, and glad that we found this place.

I was surprised when I saw the menu I expensive they were. It is not a fancy restaurant. The food was good but I think their food is too expensive.

Great place for family dim sum, well located, excellent food and service. Steamed buns and vegetable soup were excellent

Our family went for dinner and the food was excellent. We had dim sum as appetizer and order over 13 dishes for party of 15. Dim sum was hot and fresh with to notch quality. The entrée dishes were also very good and delish. Try their baby lamb chop which was full of flavor and tender!! I will be back!

Celebrated Lunar New Year here and the place was busy. Although it’s not the most authentic food, the cuisine was tasty. Decent selection of dim sum served by friendly staff.

This is a new place close to my hotel-Hilton midtown. It was about half full on a Friday night at 8 and I was immediately seated. Even though it’s name contains “dim sum,” they serve many other Chinese dishes. The dim sum, however, is a highlight. Dim sum is served, as in China, at the table in the small bamboo basket steamers. I had shrimp dumplings (har gow, I call it) and a larger dumpling with seafood and veggies. These were about $7 apiece. I then had a great order of sautéed Chinese greens, pricey at $16 but perfectly sautéed, green, and tender. I added green tea and a glass of wine, and it was perfect. The service was friendly and efficient. This is a wonderful place to experience Hong Kong cuisine without going to China Town.

A nice change from NYC restaurants that charge a lot, and for some reason are famous, but don't really deliver! Good service, good food and a nice atmosphere. Great location.

We were craving Chinese food and did not want to venture far from our midtown hotel on 568th street. So we chose Dim Sum Palace. Nice menu to choose from, very large portions (order to share), tasty food.

Stopped in for some soup dumplings, we were there at "Happy Hour", so we indulged. FANTASTIC food and service. Don't walk past this little diamond in a rough, you will not be sorry. Fresh ingredients, very tasty food and dumplings cooked to perfection!

Despite the delivery arriving in good time, the food was terrible. Salt and pepper squid was chewy and tasteless, the garlic prawns did not taste fresh, the chicken was chewy and barely eatable and the ‘prime’ rib was again tasteless. $80 down the drain! Never again!

As the title says, very polite and welcoming staff and very good dim sum. An enjoyable experience without issues. Food was coming out fast, super hot, and fresh. Thank you

Had a nice meal - dim sum is good. Service is prompt, although not overly friendly. Walk off your meal with a stroll in Central Park!

We found this little gem by chance and we were not disappointed. The dim sum were delicious and the service very good and efficient. We also had soups from the main menu and they were both good. The prices were honest too.

We went to NY to find and taste a real chinese Dim Sum! And the Dim Sum Palace surprised us! The BEST! And you dont’t need to go to Chinatown!!!!!! Very good Place, food and service!

For a few years we ventured downtown to our favourite place in Chinatown whenever we fancied Dim Sum, but after discovering, by accident, we now only go to Chinatown for Dim Sum when in the downtown area. Food is fantastic, with the ribs in olive sauce being intriguing and once tried a regular must have! Hot and sour soup, always a favourite, is as good here as anywhere else we've tried (that said, its not hard to do a good hot and sour soup but some places continue to fail. Service is much better than any place in Chinatown but the prices reflect that.

We had lunch at Dim Sum Palace last Friday. They have about six locations in Manhattan. This is the West 56th Street location. This is a storefront restaurant. If the sign of a good Chinese restaurant is the presence of Chinese customers, then Dim Sum Palace passes the test. You order from a picture menu. The prices are reasonable. There might be 48 dishes, most are about $6.00 or $7.00. The reverse is a printed menu showing other dishes. We ordered three or four dishes and were quite impressed. The dishes came one of two at a time. We had a pot of jasmine tea, which was refilled. Although we did not have wine, I checked out the wine list. They have several good selections that are fairly priced. I will keep this in mind for our next visit. Are there negatives? Maybe New York traffic, but they are not responsible for that.

Diverse crowd, and humble Chinese place. Food is good and vegetarian dim sum is really spectacular. Service is average.

The food is off the chain. Authentic, made with quality ingredients. You can taste the love. I can’t wait to come back to NYC so that I can go again. The cocktails were good, too, and everything so reasonably priced.

I’ve had amazing dim sum this place misses the mark. Was way to sticky couldn’t even get off the platter with out it tearing. Just think I can find better

Watch your money. A half Peking duck can cost up to $37 and menu selections can be quite confusing. Dim Sum is a Hong Kong Chinese restaurant. We came here last Friday for a meal after being out on the town. I ordered a Peking Duck combo, which the three of us shared. The food was excellent, however, I was very confused when they mentioned Peking Pork was a separate choice that could be added on to the dinner selection. What was confusing was the waiter couldn't say if it was extra or just part of the same dush. Anyhow, we ended up taking it home. I recommend this particular location, but advise that you choose your dinner choices carefully!. The only other downside is ambiance is not that great. Would I come back? The answer is yes!

Their related restaurant on 46th Street offered a dim sum tasting menu. This place didn’t offer it. Staff came across as rude. On guy basically just dropped our forks down onto the table. Very rude! It took us about 5 tries to order our Sprite even though we pointed to it on the menu. Dim sums were not tasty either. Save your money and go elsewhere

This place was so delicious that we debated eating there twice on our trip. Was better than nom wah in Chinatown even. Staff was super friendly as well. Will definitely come back here

Restaurant was packed..... mostly Chinese people. Service fast... food slow to arrive. 8$ for a pot of tea! No way. Dim sum very good and more reasonably priced for mid-town.

We came here for dinner after a show as they close very late. There is large selection of Siam Sam ri chose from as well as other dishes .

It's great to have excellent, authentic Dim Sum in midtown, without having to travel down to Chinatown. And the fact that it's served all day makes it so much better! We loved the shredded duck dumplings, seafood shu mai, mushroom dumplings and garlic spare ribs. Everything was fresh, flavorful and with generous portions. Service was excellent, and there were some nice choices on the wine list. (French un-oaked chardonnay with Dim Sum is a great pairing.) Definitely a place to visit again.

If you don't have time to make it to China Town, this is a viable alternative. Dum Sum was good, but I was surprised that the online prices differed somewhat from the actual price paid. Also surprised that a pot of tea was $8.

Went in for lunch special in this new restaurant on last day of visit to NYC. Service fine, food excellent. Would go again

If you want dim sum - no alcohol license yet. Half price from 3 -5 is a real bargain and tasty. Wide selection of dim sum but also crispy dumpling options if you don't want mushy!

Had both a lunch and a dinner at Dim Sum Palace, albeit not on the same day, while on vacation in New York with my spouse. We both just loved the food and the authenticity of the place. Probably would have eaten there more times if the trip had been longer. Dim Sum Palace is an authentic Chinese restaurant that offers a large variety of dim sum dishes, as well as a selection of other dishes. The variety is impressive and can make it rather difficult to pick and choose. During our two visits we tried a number of different dishes. We had a variety of dumplings and buns, as well as shu mai, spring rolls, scallion pancakes, spare ribs, duck and more. Everything was really good and authentic in flavors. Service was good - prompt and helpful. The ambiance is nice - mid-scale Chinese restaurant - with tablecloths and nice decor - but still casual and comfortable. Cannot wait to go there again when next in New York.

Food was pretty much as expected for a mid-level dim sum restaurant. Overall, our group enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, service was poor, and the food took forever to come out.

Delicious food. Was thinking of going to China town but wanted to go somewhere closer to our hotel. We were a group of 10. Super quick service and everything was great. The shanghai fried rice was our favourite! Dumplings great too.

Amazingly good dim sum and chinese food in midtown saving you the need to travel to Chinatown. And dim sum is throughout the whole day not just morning and afternoon like most Chinatown dim sum places. The food is fresh. This location is also very wheelchair friendly which is a very hard to find for chinese restaurants. The prices for dim sum and dishes are high (and they don't even give out fortune cookies), but hey this is midtown. I would recommend Peking pork chops and House special seafood fried rice!

A nice variety of dim-sum. All were very tasty. I particularly loved their wonton soup with shredded duck. Not a fancy place, not expensive.

No restaurants open in New York so I decided to order a delivery for Mothers Day. I ordered on line and it was simple to go direct on their website and order early and ask for a delivery at a specific time. The restaurant keeps you updated by email and the food arrived on time, no delays. Ordered a whole Peking Duck, Szechuan shrimp, house special noodle and sweet and sour pork. The food was excellent, hot and well packed. The duck I placed in the oven to make it extra crispy for the pancakes. There was plenty of food and left overs for the next day. Highly recommended during these difficult times of isolation and stay at home policy.

Good, authentic Chinese dim sum food. Only one dish was objectionable—the custard wasn’t fully cooked.

Dim Sum Palace on West 56st between 5th & 6th aves have an extensive menu and is reasonably priced. Food is delicious but service is a bit slow. Had Shrimp & Pork Dumplings, Scallion Pancake, Shrimp Spring Roll & Sweet Sesame Balls….so much to choose from! Will definitely be back!

This small storefront serves very good dim a la carte. Selection is extensive, and they arrive fresh, with a variety of sauces. Service is quick and efficient. They don't yet have an alcoholic beverages license. Prices are reasonable.

This may not be the best dim sum in NYC; however, it is reliably good. Had a wide variety including the barbecue pork (best), pork soup dumplings (good), scallion pancakes (good) and dim sum sampler with almost a dozen varieties to sample (good). The service was friendly and attentive and there was a wide variety of choices. Well worth a repeat visit.

My family of 4, 2 adults, 2 teens, had an amazing dim sum meal here! Ordered a variety of traditional dumplings, rolls, and soups, and loved them all! We usually go to Chinatown, but were planning to wander midtown so decided to go here instead. Don't miss the chive and pork dumplings, the shrimp rice noodle rolls, or the shu mai.

Soft music was a refreshing delight setting the ambience in the restaurant. The waiters and waitresses were attentive. The food was delicious. We are vegans, and we had plenty to choose from. We ordered more than we could eat, so we got some good little boxes to take the extras home.

The staff cornered me, shouted at me and the proceeded to take an extra $20 from my account 2 days later. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

A lovely Chinese restaurant specializing in dim sum. A great variety of dim sum. Especially loved the duck egg rolls and vegetarian assortment. Service was mixed.

Located off of 6th avenue on 56th street this is just one of several Dim Sum Palace locations around New York City. This is the third we have tried over the past several years and it is as good as the others and best of the rest. You check off what you want on a picture menu and everything is cooked fresh on site. We all enjoyed our lunch and look forward to Dim Sum at other Palace locations.

Touring New York City, and not wanting to go to Chinatown for dim sum, we read about the Dim Sum Palace. What a great find. It is close to all tourist activities, and is a lovely spot. The food is terrific. We had a lot of dim sum, and could have had more--but we will save that until our next trip to NYC.

Well I'm just back from having an early dinner here. Was thinking of yum cha, but changed my mind, and had a main meal, well my friend and I had shared, General tiso chicken, and Mongolian beef. The portions are huge, I loved this as we were starving, and most restaurants don't give you much, this place is the opposite. We also had vegetable fried rice, it was also lovely, not oily at all. The staff were very friendly, and the toilets immaculate. Do yourself a favour and go here.

We were looking for a place within walking distance of Rockefeller Center. We found iit ! They gave us a spacious table upstairs. We ordered a variety of dumplings, all of which were excellent. We also had a fried fish which they separated into pieces of fillet, accompanied by a melange of veggies. We also had the Peking duck, which the Maitre D' carved table-side for us !

Crowded small space. Service is rough, very slow and not attentive; Tea is very expensive $8 a pot! Food tastes poor and very fatty. Meat is not fresh or well cooked. Its crowded due to its location surrounded by tourists. This is not a traditional good quality Chinese dim sum. Its a fool foreigners kinda dim sum. Golden Unicorn in Chinatown is much better in my experience.
Very good dim sum
Went with friends, you order by checking hoxes on a menu. No rolling carts of dim sum, but maybe in more standard hours (went at 8:30pm)? Had the gingr and soy whole crab, numerous dishes of dim sum - all standard fare, was very tasty.
