If you are travelling to NYC , get to Brooklyn for this place. Awesome food, great ambience and about 100m from the subway. Try the brisket or lamb sliders , they rock!

I made an online reservation and when I got there no one was at the reception to help for my table ... the service slow and no concentrated... my order never been totally completed..

a Wonderfull place with wonderfull meal and great waiters. The place to try... So funny when you go there with friends or familly...

This restaurant is little bit far from centre but wotrh for visit. Make reservation or you will must wait speciály in the evening. You can make také away and eat this in front of restaurant but its not so good like in.. great atmosphere and great choice of beers. IMHO the brisket is the best choice :)

The lunch crowd came for a hearty, delicious and entertaining experience, and the restaurant did not disappoint. This is a quiet part of town midday, but not Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. This is a popular spot for a good reason. The menu has a great selection of meats and sides. The BBQ sauces and preparations were very good. We were stuffed and bought some sauce.

Four adults and an 18-month old enjoyed dinner here. We sat outside on a picnic table, had a delightful waitress and delicious food. The restaurant was busy and it also had a brisk carry-out business. I’d definitely eat there again!

A must-visit for BBQ lovers in the city. Their ribs are some of the best around – seriously, they're amazing. The food is consistently good, with a great smoky flavor that BBQ fans will love. The service can be hit or miss, but when it's good, it's really warm and friendly. The place has a fun, laid-back vibe, making it a great spot for a casual meal. Prices are reasonable, which is a big plus. Overall, it's a fun and tasty experience, perfect for a hearty meal with friends.

This was our second visit to Dinosaur BBQ but our son's family have been frequent visitors for the last 3 years, since our first visit. We really enjoy their BBQ wings, there sweetheart deal, the brisket plate, macaroni and cheese, and their cornbread. Our server, Maria, was attentive and kept our drinks filled. She came by just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Dinosaur Bbq to others and we'll definitely be back!

Same great BBQ as they have at their other locations in Syracuse, Rochester, and Troy, NY. Located in Harlem, just 2 blocks from the 125th St Red Line subway stop. The neighborhood is up and coming with lots of new construction and Dinosaurs is just passed the famous Cotton Club in Harlem. Incredible BBQ and great fast service! Also an extensive beer menu, you won't be disappointed unless you can't get in. It's a great lunch stop, but gets really busy at dinner. Worth the wait and with their service, you probably won't have to wait too long.

We travelled from Hells Kitchen after reading the good reviews and it was definitely worth it. Honestly the best meal we had during our stay in New York. Food super tasty and cooked perfectly.

It's a must when we come to New York, the best ribs of my life. As there were too many, we asked for the doggy bag, well the next day it was ecstasy. Next time, I'll have so many more like that, the joy of eating it the next day. Of course, everything is perfect. The setting is just to die for, a warm atmosphere, the divine food, in short, this will always be my ribs spot in New York and nowhere else

Recommend the barbecue ribs and chicken wings. Tasty, mildly spicy, meaty. Variety of hot sauces on the table.

Try the mac & cheese. Try the BBQ ribs. Everything is freaking fantastic at Dinosaur BBQ. So many calories!!

We really liked the atmosphere, and the service was great! The food was good, and the portions were generous. Maria was the perfect waitress, and lifted the experience.

The perfect place to eat with the family in an informal way without giving up on good food. The ribs are delicious and the side dishes are varied to please adults and kids. The atmosphere and decor give a relaxed feeling of American life.

We tried the NY location while waiting to go further on our trip, and I was not disappointed. The portions were healthy size and EVERYTHING was good. I had fried green tomatoes. They were seasoned perfectly; my only complaint was there wasn't enough of them.

Before picking up my dog at the hospital, my family and I stop by and had a great meal. Parking is tough but lucked out with a spot in front. Our waiter was great. He was very friendly and helpful. I think his name was Dominic. I had succulent ribs with a tangy sauce, with a hearty portion of brisket. My son had the variety sliders with a side order of wings. Every thing was delicious. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was very tasty. It is a big place with a friendly staff. If you are in the neighborhood this is a must.

Delicious barbecue - ribs, chicken, pork & brisket to name a few. Plus wide selection of draught beers among other drinks.

Ordered from Dinosaur in Harlem thru Door Dash. Dinosaur did their part and made the food, but nobody came to pick it up. After waiting over an hour past original est. delivery time, I called Dinosaur to see what could be done. My food was remade and put in an Uber that was called by Claribel at Dinosaur. It arrived to me shortly thereafter at my hotel. Customer service second to none! The food was great as well. We had ribs, salt potatoes, mac & cheese, cucumber salad, and chopped greens. Yum! Highly recommended!

First the good - it's a great restaurant in terms of ambience, people are so friendly, good music and it's not blasting crazy loud as some other places. Just right! I came for a splurge take out meal. I ordered pulled pork sandwich, an extra side of Cole slaw and corn bread, which came to around $27 without the tip. First the bbq sauce, which they chose (Memphis) - not good at all, very sour - I think there may have been other choices but I didn't see them offered. I like a sauce with a little sweet in it and this just tasted bitter to me. The pulled pork was not pulled well; it had big chunks of meat that I had to cut by hand - the taste was good but without a good bbq sauce, overall the sandwich was mediocre. The corn bread wasn't good to my taste, and the Cole slaw was very dry, seemed like mostly just cut up cabbage. It was a big disappointment.

I had a wonderful dinner here of a half rack of ribs, roasted corn and greens. Every bite was flavorful and beautifully cooked. Th corn bread (tiny piece that it was) was very flavorful as well. The service was exceptional. Friendly, efficient. Everyone seemed to care. The protocols for COVID were followed seamlessly. I felt very safe here. My only complaint were the cocktails. I think they could have a better cocktail menu with more flavorful and unusual concoctions. I tried 2 different cocktails and the best I could say is meh. Overall, I would come back here in a heartbeat and probably have beer or wine. Highly recommend.

Great place, not much of a walk from 125th street station. The food was great, and the service was good as well. Very reasonably priced for New York, much cheaper and better quality than you get in midtown. The BBQ platter was great, and excellent value for $21

Best BBQ I've had in years bar none. The best thing I had on the menu was the Cuban sandwich and the half bird plate smothered in their original BBQ sauce, it's a loud restaurant, best to go as a group.

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and we're so glad we visited. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who showed us to a booth and then were introduced to our lovely waitress N'Tasha. She was very attentive and lovely! The food was quick to come out, was fresh and so incredibly delicious! We also shared a pitcher of the dinosaur pale ale and that too was really good! The whole meal was around $60 which we thought was really good value for money considering the amount of food we received. We also got ourselves a bottle of their bbq sauce just for filling in a survey online (well worth doing as the sauce is delicious).

very friendly stuff and excellent services. The best baby back ribs I have eaten before. Prices are affordable. If you are going on weekends, try to get there early or call for appointment.

Good authentic American food. They make their own barbecue and coleslaw and macaroni cheese. The building looks a little tired and if you are being polite you say it has an authentic Patina of age but don’t let this put you off

The Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant is an absolute amazing barbecue based chain that offers guest delicious Southern style cuisine ranging from brisket, ribs, pulled pork and wings. In February of 2019, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, specifically the branch based in Harlem, New York to celebrate our Happy One Year Wedding Anniversary!!! We both very much enjoyed our dining experience!!! The staff warmly greeted us when we arrived at the restaurant and quickly provided us with a very large and comfortable dining table. Our server, Joel was very kind, superbly professional and made us feel right at home. He did a great job on explaining the menu options, the specials for the day and offered great tips on the dishes that we were likely to favor and enjoy. In addition, he perfectly noted our orders, and routinely checked in on us to make sure we were having a good time and that our needs were met. We thank Joel for his hospitality and wonderful service. Ultimately my wife and I decided to order the “Family Stylin Bar-B-Que” entree which consists of 6 pieces of whole chicken, full rack of ribs, an order of pork or brisket, cornbread and 3 homemade sides. We were both in awe of the sheer quantity of food that was provided and we found every dish to be well cooked, perfectly seasoned and fabulously delicious. Everything was flawlessly made and a delight to eat!!! If you enjoy Southern style cuisine coupled with great hospitality, you’ll definitely enjoy visiting and dining at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. My wife and I would love to thank this great restaurant for providing us an exceptional dining experience, one that we’ll cherish forever!!!

Stumbled across this place when looking online for good BBQ food in NYC while in the airport departure lounge. So glad we got the metro up a few stops. Food was delicious and would say my favourite meal in the week we spent in NYC. Cool restaurant interior and neighbourhood also made the meal extra special. I had the BBQ Salmon with fries and mac n cheese yum!

Outstanding food! The best baked beans in my life. I ordered the sampler for 2 & it was really really good. You have to stop in!

Had dinner here, friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Delicious burger and the best fries I’ve tasted. Good choice of draft beer. Yummy desserts too. Would definitely eat there again.

We ate at this restaurant tonight for our daughters 13th birthday. There was 11 of us in total. We were served by Mel who was amazing. He was so helpful. The food was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for the atmosphere and the outstanding food. Despite being busy we were served promptly. Huge thanks to Mel for a lovely experience.

After living on the west coast for over 10 years, it was great to get back to a Dinosaur BBQ (went to college in Rochester), and it was just as delicious as I remembered. The dry-rub on the ribs is just amazing, the baked beans were incredible and the sauce was as great as ever (need to get a bottle to take home next time). This restaurant lacks a little bit of the authenticity that the Rochester and Syracuse restaurants have (whole biker bar/blues theme), but the food is every bit as good. So glad we stopped in for dinner on our way out of the city! So nice to no that some things don't change over time!

Very nice rustic BBQ place. If you love ribs then this is the place. I had the small rib plate for lunch and wanted to order more to take home. They smoked the ribs to perfection. I do not think you can go wrong in the place. If you are in the area, it is a must try. For those of you who have seen my reviews all know. I do not go over heads too easy. Keep in mind this is a BBQ place - not a white table cloth place. Just a place to get great food. My only bad mark is the sides I had were just OK. But I love the meat!

We had a large party with several children and the restaurant provided generous service and delicious food.

So we visited the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on our recent trip to NYC having originally visited back in 2015. Having been our standout favourite eatery it really had to be done! Last time, being 2 young naive brits, we opted for the sweetheart platter - a full rack of ribs with 4 sides.....we left feeling extremely full but very happy! 7 years later and 7 years older, had we learnt... had we hell! We opted for the sweetheart platter again with 4 carby sides of skin on fries, whipped sweet potatoes, mac'n'cheese and spicy bbq rice - oh and a piece of cornbread each for good measure. Ribs - cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bone, these were just as we had remembered. Smoky and with the signature house rub and sauce these beauts packed a punch of flavour with every bite. Fries - Skin on fries rarely fail and they certainly don't here. The perfect balance between crispy and fluffy, salty and peppery they are just perfect. Whipped Sweet Potato - The first time we visited was the first time I'd tried whipped sweet potato. I've been trying to recreate this at home for the last 7 years ever since....I thought I was close....this trip reminded me I still have so much to learn. Light and fluffy with those caramelised spiced nuts on top are not to be missed. Mac 'n' Cheese - I've not got a huge amount to compare this too as I don't often get this as a side truthfully, but it was macaroni and it was oh so cheesy! BBQ Fried Rice - Not spicy as such, I suspect they use a rib style rub in the rice with some of the meats they serve up infused within the rice with spring onions and other vegetables. A banging and somewhat moreish side to accompany the ribs. Cornbread - One of their standout staples the cornbread is just perfect. Not to be messed with, a classic and one to be eaten and admired. **Note** - Whilst all of the above are delicious, 4 carby sides between 2 people is A LOT OF FOOD! They don't skimp on the portions either so be prepared to eat if you go for that combo. The service as always was superb, after 7 years it felt like returning home. I remember the first time being somewhat apprehensive up in Harlem but this time I felt like I was where I was meant to be. Friendly, super attentive and happy to have a chat - what more could you ask for? The sweetheart platter for $42 is a STEAL! I felt like we were going to underpay - so the team got a larger tip so I didn't feel like I was running away having underpaid. All in all, I couldn't recommend this place enough, next time I hope to hit the Brooklyn venue too.....but I'll still be back to Harlem

The servers where very attentive . Manager was very pleasant . Love the decor . The quality of the food was outstanding .

Gave this a go after reading and hearing some good things about the place and as soon as you walk through the door you just know this place is the real deal. Big warm welcome, a great bar to grab some drinks and a great vibe from the locals, tourists and team working here. BBQ wings were everything you would expect in America and the Ribs are also delightful. I have visited NYC three times and despite the hundreds and thousands of eateries nothing compares to this for authentic BBQ American food. This looks, feels and tastes of everything you would expect to find in America and it’s well worth the trip as it’s a good 10-15 mins drive from Central Park. TIP: Book in advance if your looking to be seated straight away. Although you can wait and sit at the bar which is a pretty cool experience in itself. Hopefully this Dinosaur doesn’t go extinct as we’ll sure be back on future visits.

Been here with friends about 4 years ago. Came here again with our daughter so she can try too. We got to the restaurant around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. Were seated immediately. Waitress came by to take our drink and appetizer order. The restaurant is separated into two areas. One side is their bar with some high tables and chairs. One side is regular tables and chairs. Service was good and food came out perfect timing. We ordered 13 Wango Tango wings as our appetizer. The sauce had a little kick to it but we liked it a lot. The size of the wings were a little on the small size in our opinion only because we’ve had wings from other restaurant that are bigger than theirs. Hubby ordered the Pick Your Own Combo with Pulled Pork, St. Louis Ribs and 1/4 Chicken with Mac & Cheese and Fresh Cut Fries as his 2 sides. I ordered Skirt Steak with BBQ Beans with Pork and Broccoli Chickpea Salad as my 2 sides. Our daughter ordered Fried Rice Plate a side of Fresh Cut Fries. She didn’t really like the fried rice much not because it didn’t taste good. It is just a different taste than she is used to. My skirt steak was a bit on the chewy side, but a good portion. The Broccoli Chickpea Salad was really good. BBQ beans was just as good as I remembered it from 4 years ago. Hubby liked everything on his order. We all enjoyed our food with only 1 exception. Heir corn break was pretty blend. We all expected it to have more flavor into it. All in all, we enjoyed it and will be back again.

One thing I wanted to try on my first visit to the USA was traditional American BBQ and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que lived up to my expectations. The atmosphere inside was relaxed and calm, the waitress was attentive and charming and the food was full of flavour, tender and juicy. I tried the Ribs and Brisket and my fiancée had the Pulled Pork Sliders and it was all incredible. Would recommend anyone going to NYC to try this place :)

A nice, busy choice for good food . Service was great and Food was served on time. Staff constantly enquire if you are okay with food and if you need anything else. Service is top notch. Music was calm and relaxing ( nothing too loud or noisy). Food was absolutely delicious so I would recommend for those who appreciate good spicy food😋.

Never got to eat. So I cannot review the food. We arrived at 12:50 a party of 5. We were told 35 min wait. After an hour we checked back and were told there were 2 other party of 5 ahead of us. It was complete chaos. The food looked good. However they cannot and are not equipped to handle a party over 5.

This was a fab find. The food was amazing, the wings were delicious. My chicken was tasty and my husbands combo meal of ribs and chicken was yummy. We highly recommend this restaurant and its very easy to find. The service here was brilliant, staff are friendly and attentive.

Poor service....Waitress and host have no personality... Bathroom Dirty...i just got the Deviled eggs....not bad, but very Salty...not sure if I would come back

Lawd Hab Mercy! This right here is some good bbq. The hype is real. I had been hearing about this place so I finally got a chance to come visit and let me tell you.... I'm glad I did. My visit didn't start off so well. I stood in line for like 15 minutes and when I finally got to the register, the young lady smiled and advised me that I was in the takeout line and if I wanted to have a seat I needed to go to the other side of the restaurant. Sheesh! I can appreciate the staff because when I said I was hungry and ordered the Tres Niños, I was told that I probably would want something else. So I went with the same choices but on the pick three menu. I had the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork with collard greens and coleslaw. First let me talk about the sides before I get into the bbq. The coleslaw was "aight" but those collards were on point. They had this sweet savory taste with turkey meat "YUMMY!" Now this brisket was by far my favorite. Don't get me wrong, the pulled Pork and ribs were excellent too but that brisket was so tender and so juicy. I didn't need a knife for any of if. They gave bbq sauce on the table but you don't need it and it's clear that you don't because they were all mostly full! I'm so glad I got a chance to visit because I will certainly make this a routine stop whenever I'm here. If you every get a chance to visit... you certainly should and try the brisket. When you do... tell'em Drew sent ya! Y'all be Easy! Drew✌🏾

The best choice is all great! The staff smiley the good prices I recommend you out You'll spend a wonderful time here

great experience all around. we were riding bikes in riverside and got off to switch citbikes. the station was right near the restaurant and the smell outside was amazing. it was during the pandemic and tape was on floor to maintain proper distance. service was spectacular, nicest and most efficient service. we ordered and waited in bar area. we were allowed to use t he bathroom and it was spotless and interestingly decorated. the drink was the best drink ive had out in years. STRONG. the donkey punch is highly recommended, they dont go light on alcohol which was nice. who needs a glass of mix and juices? the ribs were excellent. i googled later to see where we went and was surprised to see that i have been to the one in rochester as well (also delicious and great decor). top notch. i guess we were lucky it was a pandemic so we had minimal wait time. there were others in line and out the door and in bar but all social distancing. very cheerful environment and so delicious.

Dinosaur is a must if you love bbq!! Fried green tomatoes, pork ribs and mac n cheese w/ fresh cut fries as side. That’s it!!

Visited this restaurant last night, with our two sons....it was our last night before returning to the UK. Got a Taxi up to Harlem as was staying 72nd street, it was definitely worth it. Our waiter Angle was great, our food was lovely...very filling but really tasted good. Very reasonable prices too. Would definitely visit again.

We visited this restaurant after finding it on Trip Advisor. There were 6 of us so we ordered the meal that fed 3-4 (we had so much left over). Our meal was recommended by Mel - our waiter. It consisted of chicken wings, ribs, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, cornbread, baked beans and collard greens. If you are ever in Harlem go to Dinosaur BBQ and was for Mel!! You won’t be sorry 😀

A friend recommended Dinosaur BBQ to us for our recent trip to the big apple. I always do research on a restaurant and knew straight away what we were going to have. Both ordered a combo plate with 3 meats and 2 sides. Also comes with corn bread. We tried; pulled pork, St Louis ribs, brisket with jalapeño, pork belly, jalapeño cheddar hot link and alamaba white pulled chicken. If all food here is as delicious as what we had then you literally can't go wrong. If you are a bbq lover, then go here 100%

I will definitely recommend Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. A great choice for good food. The service was great and the food was served on time. The staff constantly enquires if you are okay with food and if you need anything else. The service is top notch. The food was absolutely delicious.

We stopped by for a quick lunch while in NJ for a concert. The food was delicious and the staff was nice! Had to wait for a table, but it was worth the wait.

Wow this place is BUSY! you will need to make reservations if you do not want to wait 1 hour or longer. I made my reservations via Opentable and had no issues, actually got seated 1/2 hour earlier. The line was out the front door. Got the look from folks on the line waiting lol. Super friendly staff and comfortable seating, we were 9. food came fairly quickly, drinks were reasonable at 8 bucks for a martini and same for beer. We went with the BBQ rib special for 2, 31 bucks for a full rack of ribs and 4 small sides. More than enough for 2, actually 3 of us shared this. Sweet potatoes are creamy and delicious and so were the pork/prime rub/Beef sliders we shared. Another good app were the fried green tomatoes, will def get all of these again on our next visit.

You know when you hear about a place from different people and they all tell you that it’s delicious? Dinosaur delivers that hype! I went with friends. We all got different things and shared (reluctantly) tastes with each other. I’m still dreaming about the St. Louis ribs! Just go here. Eat all of the things. You will not regret the trip!

It's not Kansas City or St. Louis, but for New York, it's very good barbaque. Large portions, meats are very good. Ribs and briskit. Side also good-mac and cheese particularly. Service a bit slow and disjointed. Not pricey. Overall well worth going.

I tried the combination platter. The pulled pork was descent, the ribs average and the sausage subpar. The Mac-n-cheese was good as were the salted potatoes. The service was very good, considering the large crowd. Hard to believe a bbq place doesn’t offer banana pudding as a desert.

We went for dinner at the dinasour restaurant in Harlem Mel was our server Excellent service and delicious food Highly recommended!

Must visit the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que if your in New York City!!! Great food, Great service, Great Drinks!!!

After a successful doctor's visit with my sick dad, my sister suggested the Dinosaur Bar-Be-Cue for a nice lunch. At 1pm, the restaurant was sparsely populated, so we had our choice of seating. The matre'd and wait staff (Chris) were friendly, professional, attentive! The place is comfortable, well-lit, and wide-open, and the food...just WOW! See pics below... After a strong Kentucky Bourbon ale, we shared a Swag Sampler with cajun shrimp, bbq chicken, deviled eggs, and sun-dried tomatoes. Just terrific food and delicious. For the main lunch, I had the Tres Ninos which included ribs, brisket, and pulled pork! Just amazing. My insides are gonna regret this lunch for the next 3 days! LoL Highly recommended!

The barbecue here isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it definitely satisfies. The ribs are a bit on the small side, and the brisket was slightly dry, especially in comparison to Hometown BBQ in Brooklyn. That said, the selection of sauces helps, and considering the generous portions, the pricing is quite reasonable. I’d rate the meats around 4 stars. The side dishes were excellent. I ordered the potato salad and macaroni and cheese, and as a cornbread lover, I found that to be a particular highlight; definitely a home run for me. Now, let’s talk about the atmosphere; it was exceptional. There was a live R&B performance featuring a singer, a keyboardist, and a drummer, and the entire setting was vibrant and full of energy. Couples were dancing to the slower songs, while groups got into the groove during the more upbeat numbers. It was an unexpected and thoroughly enjoyable experience. I must have visited on a lucky night, as I imagine they can’t host live entertainment like that every evening. Pro tip: Be sure to make a reservation, and even then, be prepared to wait. This place is hectic. We waited approximately 45 minutes despite having a reservation, while walk-ins had significantly longer wait times.

Went on a Saturday night and was super busy - definitely recommend booking as meant we skipped the queue. There was live music creating a good atmosphere, food was amazing

We were on our way to the hockey game at the Prudential Center and stopped by this gem for dinner. The food was wonderful THe beef brisket was tasty and so good. The coleslaw was homemade and fresh. The pork sandwich was also good. I love this restaurant. Our waitress Kelly made the whole experience even better. Hope to return when we are back in the area.

Came here on holiday to NYC with my boyfriend and we loved it. The food was amazing and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. Very easy to get to using the subway from downtown Manhattan. Would recommend to anyone visiting New York!

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que definitely lived up to the hype. The ribs were perfectly cooked, with a nice smoky flavor, and the sauce was just the right amount of tangy. I also tried their mac and cheese, which was creamy and comforting. The vibe inside was relaxed, and the staff were super friendly, making it a great spot for a casual meal.

I will return. I was not blown away by the ribs, they were good, but ribs are better. The wings were amazing, BBQ beans were amazing. I will return because I want more of those wings and I want to try their nacho's, they looked great. We had the appetizer sampler with the amazing chicken wings, the fried green tomato was the best I've ever had. Service was slow, our server seemed distracted and our appetizer came 30 seconds before our meal (a pet peeve of mine). I will return, although I am not completely blown away by the food. The restaurant is really in a really cool location and building.

Very simple the place isn't that amazing... suitable yes but if you ever been outside NY unlike most New Yorkers its nothing to write home about. I order a to go order ($26) and received 3 slices of brisket, this is unacceptable. I rarely write to a business but I did and talk to the manager. She said sorry and never wrote again. Thanks I'll go to Smoking Al's or John Brown's instead.

We got there and they sat us right away. We had 2 waiters. The first was a guy very nice. The second a woman had a little attitude. The food is mainly beef and pork, which is difficult because of religious reasons we do not eat beef or pork. We wanted the fried rice unfortunately it had beef/pork products. Basically, it was a very limited menu for us. However, we made due with what we were presented with. The band was nice.

We have recently returned from a family visit to NYC. We have been frequent visitors over the years and have looked at this restaurant previously. This time we bit the bullet and went. Wow wow wow. The food. Is fantastic . We all went for the Combo Plates with a mixture of Pulled Pork, Brisket, Hot Sausage, Pork Belly & Pulled Chicken. Every mouthful was perfect. Take the time to jump on the Subway and visit this place you will not be disappointed

From the first minute to the last we were very impressed with Dino's B-B-Q. We were greeted with a friendly face at reception, we were asked to leave our name and wait for 10-15 mins for a table as the restaurant was very busy, 10 mins later we were seated. The sevice was very friendly and efficient, explained the menu options, and made some recommendations. The food was all cooked perfectly, we opted for the three meats and sides platter, the B-B-Q was faultless. No complains from anybody at the table. Great food at a very resonable price, and a nice lively atmosphere. Would definately recommend.

Delicious ribs and Mac n cheee. The thing I miss most about home is the bbq cookouts my family would do. Dinosaur never disappoints and brings back all those good memories and flavors.

We got there at 8:57 didn't get seated until 9:30 b/c we said there was 3 of us instead of 2. They sat couples in booths that came in after us. Which didn't make much sense. The waiter was okay but for some reason it took forever to get our food. When again 2 couples that was seated after us had there food already when we still didn't even get our drinks. I used to love the Mac and cheese now not so much. We went for my son's birthday unfortunately he was only upset about how long he had to wait since he was so hungry.

My family of 4 enjoyed all that we had here. The ribs were tender. The pulled pork and chicken were really great. I loved the friend rice as a side. Yummy cornbread!

Visited for dinner on our last night in NYC, whole family loved their food especially the brisket and the service was great! Highly recommend.

This place was recommended to us so we chose to visit it. If you are visiting NYC it is quite a way off and would recommend a taxi as we caught hop on hop off bus to get near the location and walked back which took us over an hour to reach 59th street. The service was really friendly and quick. I loved the beef and the corn bread was amazing my husband loved his ribs.

We went all the way up here on our nyc trip to taste dat bbq everyone was talking bout. Yum. Staff was the nicest but food was on par 4 sho

Love this spot, great authentic barbq, great friendly service, food very tasty and homestyle flavor! Fast and friendly service

We got a tip that Dinosaur Bar B Que restaurants are quite good, so we went to this place during our stay in NYC. It was an excellent choice. Nice atmosphere on the westside of Harlem. Good restaurant and bar. Service was nice, wide variety of beers and nice meals. I had excellent St Louis ribs and my wife a delicious steak. After leaving this place we walked back via the Grant memorial and Columbia University which is close-by.

We stopped in for a bite to eat and some drinks. This was the perfect spot for this. We had a rack of ribs with Jack Daniels Bar-b-Que sauce on them and a few beers. The meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. It was the end of a perfect day spent touring New York City.

The ONLY issue I have with Dinosaur is the parking: hard to find a spot, so Sunday is usually the easiest day when the rules are somewhat relaxed. I won't even complain about the wait time to get a table because you can tell that this is a VERY popular place and everyone wants to eat here! While you wait, walk up to the bar and get a drink--the beer menu has at least a dozen brands to try. Once you are seated, the service is friendly and the menu is tempting; it certainly cater to those who love their BBQ and meats and all the fixings (simmered greens, corn bread, whipped sweet potatoes, etc.). I had a trio of pulled pork, quarter chicken and ribs and it was more than enough! Noise level is moderate and there is outdoor seating (although I'm not sure if there is outdoor service). Just off the West Side Highway, it is a diner's delight!

First of all the service was excellent (AshleyAnn was our waitress), friendly and attentive... This is a must visit, if you are in NYC and want BBQ... The food was very good... their BBQ meats rank 5th on my list only because there are soooo many BBQ spots in NYC... Mighty Quinn's and Hill Country are my top 2... Daisy May's was 3rd, but they closed... Brother Jimmy's and Virgil's were 4th and 5th and have moved up, opening up 5th spot for Dino's BBQ... on any given day, it is a toss up from 3rd to 5th based on the meats alone... Jimmy's and Virgil's have better sides and drinks.

I went to school in Syracuse, New York where Dinosaur BBQ started. A club I belonged too had the original founder speak of Dinosaur speak to us at their first location. Celebrations happened there, that's where parent took their kids when they visited. I love this place (In Syracuse). However, it seems to have changed drastically since I went to school (or at least the Harlem location is pale in comparison to the original). I pre-placed an order today at 1pm for $70 worth of food. It was suppose to be delivered at 7pm and arrived shortly after that time. Upon opening the bag, I noticed my food, chicken wings, were missing and the wrong sandwich was delivered. I called up dinosaur and was told very rudely there was nothing they could do and that they didn't have any drivers. I waited an hour and half, until the end of the meeting that the food was ordered for and called Grubhub. They were great, they helped get the money refunded. And after they went back and fourth with the restaurant who said they found the wings that were supposed to be delivered and wanted to know if they should be sent over. The woman on Grubhub told me to just reorder, that way I'd get fresh food and she even gave me a Grubhub voucher to cover the cost. After reordering the food, it was delivered again. I noticed the bag was especially heavy. It not only contained the wings, but a sandwich, mac and cheese, creamed corn and ALAS! My wings. All the food (I didn't order the second time) was hot... except the wings. They were ice cold. I called up Dinosaur and told them that I think they sent the old (found) wings with hot food and the person who answered the phone said "That's exactly what happened". After asking to speak to a manager for a few minutes, I was finally passed to a 'manager' who was also rude and said that what the other employee said, wasn't the case. When I told her what the first employee said, I was put on hold again and then spoke to a third person, another manager. I told him the whole story but he insisted that they don't serve old food and make their food to order. When I mentioned the conversation an employee had with Grubhub about sending me the wings they had found, he put me on hold for a moment and came back very apologetic. This manager then asked me what I ordered, took down my address and said they would be sending an employee to me apartment in a cab with my food. Why did it take three deliveries and literally hours of effort to order my dinner? Corporate needs to look at their model and seriously consider what message they want to send to their customers... because frankly. the one I got was that instead of throwing old food in the trash, they sent it to me for dinner..... which I can't imagine is very sanitary and makes me wonder what else they shouldn't be doing...

The food was super good and the attention too. I went with my family and all of us enjoy the food and the rest.

Great food, reasonably priced and excellent service. Absolutely loved the tres ninos combo and the potato salad!!

Very good value for money, tasty and tender meats, friendly and efficient service. Fairly generous portions

Can you say fingerlickin' good!?!? Went there with my two sons and two friends for dinner and granted you had to wait a bit for the food but it was definitely worth the wait! We loved the ambiance - not too loud but comfortable for table talk. The dress code was easy casual and the location for parking was convenient. We got BBQ chili nachos as an appetizer and I ordered jumbo hottest wings with cornbread and sweet potato mash and simmered greens and had enough to take back to the hotel for breakfast in the morning! I will definitely go back there when I go to NY again. It is nowone of my favourite spots to eat.

The restaurant is a lot of fun to take people. The food is pretty good, if you are a bbq person like I am then y'all know what I'm saying when I say it's pretty good for NYC. The atmosphere is fun.

I went here with my family ti search a good taste of american BBQ...and oohhhh i found It....great and gentle service and the food was incredible....

Ordered Tres Ninos. Only ribs were ok🤐 pulled pork came with bones and something else😱 brisket was not pity as should be. Not the best stop for b-bq in manhattan😎

We went out our way to go here and we weren’t disappointed. Only 2-3 mins walk from 125th Street Subway above the north west corner of Central Park on the map. Service was homely and polite and food was fab, had the ribs and they didn’t disappoint a lovely crust which is a sign of ribs that have been smoked and cooked for sometime. Prices weren’t too bad either compared to many other restaurants we visited. Also went with family and they enjoyed it too.

This restaurant was worth the walk. We read about it before going to NYC and walked up from 79th Street. It's a bit of a hike, but it was worth it. The staff are attentive and friendly and the ribs are the best! The atmosphere is great for all ages and I would eat there again. It's quite inexpensive. We caught a cab back to midtown from the nearby McDonalds and it cost just under $25.

This spot was easily accessible in Harlem near Grant's Tomb and near the subway. Well worth a visit as the food was great. We were there on August 5th at 1:00 p.m. table 45. I had the Cuban (Mojito pulled pork, grilled ham, Swiss, pickles, mustard, on a pressed roll - $16) with BBQ Fried Rice on the recommendation of our server. Also ordered was the Chimi Chicken (Pulled chicken, chimichurri, smoked onions, mayo, melted swiss - $15) and a 3 Meat Combo (St. Louis Ribs, 1/4 Chicken, and Prime Brisket - 28). The visit was made all the more fun by our server Ronald A. I have never met a more happy, friendly, positive server who was spot on with all his suggestions! Well done sir!!

I had a lot of fun here. It was a great day and someone was nice enough to give me a table quickly. Plus most of the customers are friendlier than at other places.

I was in Manhattan for biz and unexpectedly ended up being way uptown. Pulled up TA for a good recommendation and Dinosaur BBQ was top of the list. It did not disappoint. Very good food. Very good value. A must try for something different in the city.

Craved for a good barbecue and I was scrolling through trip advisor. Im glad i stopped by cos their food was great, it's reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was great. Got their deviled eggs and their 1/2 rack ribs.

We were starving when we stopped in this place for dinner, having not eaten since breakfast. This place lived up to it name...the portions were dinosaur big! You had your choice of ribs, chicken, pork or brisket with multiple sides to make your perfect BBQ meal. Service was good , the vibe was cool and the prices were quite reasonable for a city restaurant.

Had a trip up to Harlem on the subway. Worth going to as I find it difficult to find good BBQ in NYC. Had the Labrador Pale Ale from Ohio which was tasty, bbq was pulled pork, brisket, sweet mashed potatoes with hazelnut and creamed corn. My partner had the gf menu and had ribs, pork, beans and slaw. All delivered very quickly, the service was really good and the price even better. All in all quite impressed, nice flavours to the food and a good choice of beer, wine and cocktails. We will make this a stop when in NYC.

We visited Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on our last night in NY. We had an amazing night, our waitress was funny and a big help.We all orderd the combination plate wich was a lot of food but is was the BBQ we ever had. We would recommend this place to everyone who's visiting New York.

Great bbq for the money. We tried the pork ribs and the chicken. Fantastic sauce and very good beer.

This place was awesome. BBQ was really excellent. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend a visit :-)

We visited New York for the 2nd time as a family and I had read great things about Dinosaur BBQ so we went to find out for ourselves. Taking the 1 train to 125th st we got off and it was really a straight up the road walk to the restaurant. We had zero wait for a table and were fortunate enough to arrive during Happy hour, this was no problem though and the Hostess/waitress that seated us was more than happy to put the 5 of us in her "VIP booth" as she told my boys, which delighted my youngest. Sitting and having a look over the menu we were spoilt for choice but eventually I opted for a 3 choice platter and my wife went for the pulled pork. My daughter had a plain cheese burger and my two youngest both opted for chicken fingers and fries. To drink I had a Donkey Punch cocktail which was very drinkable. Being that my wife is gluten free it was very nice to see a wide range of options for her and she has said she wants to go back again so cant ask for more. Our waiter was great and very patient and more than happy to sell me a bottle of the Wango Tango sauce to take home, my only slight disappointment was that I couldn't get any other merchandise at the restaurant

This is a super busy Rib Joint along the Hudson river at 125th. We arrived on a Saturday night without reservations, and were able to get a table in about 25 minutes. They were turning tables at a fast pace! We had the ribs, of course, and had trouble finishing everything. It was really very tasty, but maybe just too much! The ribs were perfectly cooked, with the meat falling off the bone, in a perfect BBQ flavor. I can't fault them in any way. Check this place out, but best book a table in advance!

Came twice in one week it’s that good! First time had the pulled pork sandwich, greens and beans - oh wow, that was great. And today we had the Sweetheart Special, a full rack of ribs with four sides and cornbread. Ribs melted in our mouths, greens beans and broccoli were all amazing — and don’t miss the pecan sweet potato pie, best I’ve ever eaten!

It's hard to get good barbecue up north. If you want ribs, pulled pork, corn bread, fried green tomatoes all the fixings go to Dinosaur. It's a huge place and very noisy. Parking is a pain but once you get there you get some good eats.

Even though this is a chain. I really enjoy eating here. The baked beans are some of my favorite along with the deviled eggs.

Great BBQ spot. Good meats, sliders, sides. Their Mac n Cheese is one of my favorites. Wings & burgers are pretty good too. Def try the half & half ice tea / lemonade.

Nice place a few dozen meters from the banks of the Hudson. Coming from the plastic of Manhattan/Downtown, I particularly appreciate the authenticity of the place. I recommend the "combo" solutions, which allow you to taste two or three BBQ specialties. I take the ribs (excellent) and the pulled pork, unfortunately buried under kilos of sauce. The chips are good and, among my family's dishes, the fried tomatoes. In any case, these are quite "tough" meals, vegans or lovers of light cuisine... abstain. We had dinner in the outdoor area, the service was courteous, the bill was slightly salty for Italian standards but decidedly magnanimous considering the prices that are a few km further down… [Situation in the surrounding area, to and from the Metro stops, calm, we walked around without running into any problems...]

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has proven to be a run-of-the-mill establishment. I wouldn't take a sh*t in the bathrooms and the service was on the low performance.

Planned to visit for dinner on way up to Yankees. Food was okay/average and perhaps we had buikt it up to be something more than it was. Service was okay but very quick to take plates away before all family had finished and as last mouthful was taken. Felt rushed, okay experience, long way out of city centre.

Once a year I visit New York and Dinosaur is an absolutely must for ribs. Absolutely awesome and I have never been disappointed 😊

My siblings met at the Dinosaur BBQ restaurant in Harlem, and we didn't want to leave. The food was appetizing and the menu had a variety of food choices. We had a really good time and our waiter was very helpful and personable. We will definitely be back.

Spent one night with family, very good ribs, tasty wings and surprisingly good sides. Reasonable prices and good beer selection. Highly recommended

The real American barbecue! It was to die for! We took a sample of the barbecue meat and we didn't regret our choice! As the other Tripadvisor reviews mention, the ribs are just to die for, they are so extraordinary!!! The waitresses took great care of us, it was an incredible experience! the family highly recommends you! Very good value for money: It's worth the detour!...

A “take out” refresher. Was in the city for a dentist’s appt, called the fam and said “who wants Dinosaur?!” (Didn’t even have to say BBQ). All “yes”. So ordered a rack of ribs and a brisket and some sides (greens, Korean pickles, cole slaw). But the time I got up there on my way home it was hot amd ready. Pickup safe and easy. Got home and aaah. The bark on those ribs! Glad to see in this upside down world some things are still as good as ever. Thank you Dinosaur BBQ!

Best roast briskets, fall off the bone pork ribs, more-ish cornbread ... all very delicious - and - large servings. Family friendly and great service. We went on a Friday evening and there was a queue out onto the footpath - obviously very popular. Recommended by friends who live in the area and often eat here - and - I would also recommend to anyone looking for mid-priced american food away from “touristy” spots.

Best barbecue in town All the other sides are excellent Fast and kind service. Ribs are so tender yet juicy. Parking is bit difficult but worth going.

Dinosaur BBQ has delicious St. Louis and Korean Style BBQ! The meat fell off the bone and so flavorful and fresh. There are also several sides to choose from...like mac and cheese! Located next to The Prudential Center! Go before your next sporting event or concert, but get there early!!!! It gets packed!

Checked online opening and it was open, reviews were good so took the subway $12 each way for our family of 4. Booked through the app and OpenTable. Reservation was confirmed..... arrived to find the restaurant closed. Disgusting. It wasn't an easy journey with my wife and children with the snow and wind but we made it. How is it possible to book a table when you're closed.... even when you're meant to be open?

We booked a table and ordered a "sweetheart combo" for 2 adults, a 16 year old and a baby. That was a full rack of delicious pork ribs, beautifully cooked and very tasty - along with 3 sides which were ok but not spectacular. Service was fast and friendly and atmosphere was great. Would rate 4.5 if I could.

We hadn't eaten here for a while and went back a few weeks ago. There seem to be some new additions of interest to the menu. Food was, as in the past, very good. In the past, the restaurant has been very crowded when we went; this time, during a weeknight, it was easy to get a table. We particularly enjoyed talking to Otto, our server, who was both knowledgeable and interesting. We will go back.

Brought a Student Group for Lunch before attending a play. The food was amazing! Definitely, recommend the deviled eggs, corn, collard greens, and catfish. The catfish sauce is AMAZING! Highly recommend!

Located on the outskirts of west Harlem, this immensely popular BBQ joint is well worth the schlep and deserves all of the positive reviews! A family member recommended this place and we all decided to visit, and we were all deeply impressed despite all having highly variable tastes. We shared the brisket sliders, Creole deviled eggs, BBQ chicken wings in various flavors, and several combo platters, and everything was heavenly. All of the meat was cooked slowly so as to soak in the flavors, and this gave the meat a rich quality that's hard to find. One of our party was vegetarian and ordered the BBQ mushroom reuben, which was also really good - not all meat restaurants know how to prepare a good vegetarian dish, but this place did very well. Also, we tried the BBQ Banh Mi out of curiosity, and the interacting flavors made for a delicious sandwich!

If you love old school BBQ ribs, this is the best place in the city. It's always delicious. The food is so good that the place is always full. You'll need a reservation or go early in the day. It's great for large groups.

Good atmosphere at the Restaurant, the guys working there are friendly and you get what you order in little time. Quality is good but not excellent!

Very nice and quaint place in Harlem. Very friendly and smiling staff. Excellent food. We took the ribs with various side dishes and I must say that they were really good. As a side dish I wanted to try mac & cheese out of curiosity and I must say that it was a good dish, the pasta was not overcooked and very tasty...a little peppery but good. Another side dish is sweet potatoes, unusual but much appreciated. The meat is really soft inside and tasty. If I were to be in NY again I would definitely stay here again. We arrived directly by subway from the center of Manhattan and with a few steps on foot we reached the place for dinner. The road to get there is short but clean and well lit. To try. Reservations are needed because it is always full.

Dinosaur is going to be excellent. We all know this- amiright? Here’s a tip. I hate to share. Maybe those Dogfish 90’s are making me teary eyed! If you park at Riverside Park up by the GW it’s 1.2 miles through the park to Dinosaur. Or find the adjacent subway station. Car is in a laid back lot out of sight for free. After, take the subway downtown or back up to the car. You can see the station from dinosaur. 8pm the lot closes. Don’t forget! Good weather trip tip

Had a good.meal at Dinosaur - juicy ribs, delicious sweet potatoes and corn bread and a good cocktail. Our server was cordial and attentive. The restaurant has plenty of tables but not as much room between them, meaning you have to stop and give people room to pass. I was bringing my daughter to the bathroom and a waitress glared at us because she had to stop and let us go. Sorry lady! Then as we were leaving I stepped back for a toddler running by and his dad following him and the same waitress yells at me 'EXCUSE ME' and angrily rolled her eyes at me. It was such odd angry behavior for no reason. Dinosaur, please fire such employees who do not want to be there. They only serve to alienate your customers (pun intended)! Will be a long time before I go back there again. I can get better BBQ with much friendlier service closer to home.

We had lunch here on a very cold day and it was a heaven. The place has a fantastic atmosphere and serves great BBQ ribs!

I was stuck in the storm in NYC and decided that I should revisit an old friend in DBBQ.....Once I had left my warm hotel I soon realized that I need boots to take care of the snow, so $100 later I continued my pilgrimage to DBBQ from Time Sq. Once I had fought against the blizzards, snow drifts and bad drivers, I arrived to be told "we are closing due to the weather". I explained my plight, and journey from Dubai, and my wish for wings was granted, and OMG!!! Amazing. The best wings ever. I also was given rub and sauce - Thank you DBBQ - I cant wait to come back!!!!

REALLLY GOOD WINGS!!!!!!!!!!! Getting a table is a pain, try and make reservations because Fridays and Saturdays its over an hour wait and the other side of the restaurant where you can wait till people get up is going to cost you a fight in Harlem over a seat lol. Get the wings! The manager their she is the GM that I met she is AMAZING!! Super friendly walks around the returant asking people how their food is and came over to us to see how things were. She was amazing!

When we went there was a birthday party. This set the happy and wonderfull mood for the whole evening. Food was lovely and the experience was absolutely faboulus. Price for the food was very competitive given the quality of what was being served.

I dream of being reunited with the chicken wings and the blue cheese sauce .... oh how I dream :-)... loved this place and if I'm ever back in NY I know exactly where I'm going.

My husband and two kids (ages 13, 15), ventured up here for New Year's Eve, my daughter craving ribs. First a comment about the location - we were unsure how safe it would be to walk there from the subway, so we took the 2 train to 96th Street, and then a cab ($11). However, the street was well lit, no one loitering, and plenty of cars passing by, and a big McD's on the corner, so we decided to walk to the subway at 9pm after eating dinner and it was totally fine. Dinner was delicious. My daughters and husband shared a rack of ribs and report that it was delicious, and well worth the trip. My Dino Burger was one of the best burgers I've ever head - full of flavor, juicy, and thick. Atmosphere is casual but festive. Good place for an adventures get together, for meat eating groups. I give Dinosaur BBQ 5 stars.

We have been coming to Dinosaur for years but our experience with Charleen as our server recently was so awful that I cannot imagine going back any time soon with the kind of service issues that we experienced. Charleen was polite - for the 3 minutes total she managed to be at our table during what ended being a 3 hour dinner because she kept disappearing. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks, we had to literally physically go find her 20 minutes after our appetizers arrived to ask about our drinks. Appetizer plates took another 30 mins to clear (it really is miserable sitting in front of a pile of dirty dishes forever)- food took another hour to arrive. Meanwhile the tables that were seated well after us were already eating their entrees while we were just getting our drinks!!. Charleen seemed to have a table of personal friends she was focused on - and I had the bizarre and unfortunate experience of watching her her hold a napkin out in front of her friends(?) face for her to spit something into. Every time we looked for her for our food, drinks etc she was either at this other table or completely gone all together. When it came time to ask for the check she was gone again. Again, one of our party physically got up from the table to look for her - still unsuccessful we found another server and asked her to find Charleen for our bill. The grand finale came when we asked Charleen to split the bill 2 ways - nothing complicated - she charged our credit card the full amount of the total bill and our friends card the split amount!! Again we couldn't find her to correct the bill - so we tracked down a manager to credit the $100 she had over charged us. We all left really upset since this was supposed to be a celebratory evening and instead we left miserable and stressed out about the whole night. Dinosaur please look into this and while you are at it the bathrooms were BEYOND disgusting!!! Food is great but horrible service and bathrooms worse than Port Authority can really ruin an evening.

We went here based on Tripadvisor recommendations and were not disappointed! We ordered the 3 combo selection of chicken, beef brisket and pulled pork which were cooked to perfection! The flavours were great and the food was delicious. The sides we chose were Mac ‘n’ cheese and fries, which were delicious, on all accounts the portions are ample! For drinks, the craft beers are very good and the atmosphere is great! What made our experience was the service, our waitress Secret was fantastic, she was very friendly and I would even go as far to say the best waitress I’ve ever encountered! We sampled two desserts of key lime pie and cheesecake, both homemade. They were very tasty and great portions again. My preference was the cheesecake. Thank you for an excellent meal and a great night thanks to Secret!!

Every time we come here I am amazed by the quality of the food, the portion sizes, and the reasonable prices for top flight barbecue

Again a place chosen because of their ratings on TripAdvisor. This time expectations were met! When in New York with the Family it is hard to satisfy all regarding food. Dinosaur BBQ has a 'FAM STYLIN BBQ' that serves 4-6; so Ribs/Chicken/steak/salad fries etc for just $69.99 which isn't a lot (learned that later that week) and it DOES serve 4-6! We were served by Charleen, ask here for a local beer. Tasted great, so thanks again!

This was the first place we ate while visiting Brooklyn. The place is great, busy, but the service was great. Everything we tried was delicious and the drinks were good sized and strong. We can't wait until our next trip t New York to visit again.

We decided to visit after viewing their exciting looking menu and high rating on TripAdvisor. We made the trip from near Central Park and it was so worth it. Very good value for money, lovely staff and food came out quickly despite how busy it was. If we was to come back to New York again we would definitely visit again.

Never thought I'd eat good brisket in Brooklyn! I was in Memphis two weeks earlier and this is much better, not fatty or chewy. Good value for the Big City. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, splendid waiter. We took 3 brothers dish Ribs Pulled pork Brisket of which I had an encore I have to say that the IPA was also excellent I really liked the coleslaw made creamier not too smooth instead of thinly sliced vegetables. As a BBQ enthusiast, finally a place where I found the dishes as I would have cooked them with the added fact that, unlike usual where I sweat for hours in front of the BBQ, I can sit comfortably at the table and without smelling of smoke and coal Priceless!!

Wow what a great restaurant! Enjoyed an early New Year’s Eve dinner with family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Excellent selection of food and drink with highlights including the chicken chunks, combo plates and burgers. Our server Nicky couldn’t have been more helpful.

This place is a little off the beaten path (under the riverside drive overpass near 125th st and 12th ave) but might be the best bbq in the city. Everything is slow cooked and delicious. Try the baby back ribs or the chicken wings. The bar also doesn't disappoint. Good draft beer and mixed drink selection. Its typically busy at nights so have a reservation if you dont want to wait. Also good for work lunch outings. Just be prepared to need a nap after any meal here.

Delicious food, clean establishment, very affordable. Great drinks.. 2 min walk from The R train Stop Union street 4th ave.

So many people have told me about this restaurant over the years, so we took the men out for Father’s Day here. It’s a BBQ joint so the decor is not fancy. The food was fantastic!!! Nearly all of us had a different version of the combo platter. I had brisket, pulled pork and St. Louis ribs with greens and Cajun potato salad as side. Yyyyyyuuuuuummmmm!!!!! The meat just melted in your mouth!! On top of this our great server Otto suggested some desserts. Their homemade cheesecake is excellent but my favorite was the sweet potato pecan pie. The service was quick and the food was warm. The next day I wanted to come back!!! I’ll be back for sure!!!

First things first.... creole potato salad is awesome. The meats are primo, the vibe is fab. Good dronking spot too at the southern edge of Harlem right next to the Cotton Club...

What a great place! Had a cider, rack of ribs n the hot wings. Everything was great! The service was excellent and everything came out quickly.

It is my second visit to this southern style restaurant. You can smell the sweet sauce half more from the place. The wood decorated restaurant is just the right decoration and I haven't mentioned the good yet. Delicious, just right. Go and get it....

Two Brits in the Big Apple - We visited the Brooklyn branch of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que for dinner before attending a Nets basketball game at the Barclay’s Centre. Service was friendly and the food was delicious. I had the pork plate with sides of Mac-n-cheese and BBQ rice and my boyfriend had the brisket plate with sides of fries and BBQ rice and we were both extremely satisfied with our food. Would definitely re-visit.

We went on a Saturday night and things started well. Our reservation (made and reconfirmed by phone) saw us to a table after only a moment's wait in a holding area, so we avoided the queues outside. It took a long time, though, for our waiter to come, a longer time for drinks to arrive and a longer time still for the food. When the food did arrive, it wasn't particularly hot, not that you'd expect food cooked-to-order here. Warmer would have been good though. Side orders had been messed up; we didn't get what we wanted, though this was fixed. A requested coffee never arrived. The meats were ok, but just. As mentioned, not very warm. The ribs and the brisket both seemed quite dry and a bit overcooked, not rescued by the sauces. The chicken was fine, moist and tender. The pulled pork was the best of the lot. Our burger-eater was satisfied, but reported it as being nothing special. The atmosphere is good, noisy but not unreasonably so and the décor is fine. Toilets were in heavy need of maintenance, not particularly clean with overflowing paper towel bins. All-round, then, a disappointment.

By far the best barbecue in NYC. Ribs and briskets are not from this earth. In addition really fair prices and great atmosphere. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We went here yesterday for dinner. Where concerned a bit as is Harlem and on the 125 street. So we said lets go to check out and than we still can turn around. For our big surprise no situation we faced when arrived. In the pub where many nationalities and colours, however still had the old style. The food was excellent unbeatable! The rib the chicken wings and the pia, one of the best which I ever had. I can not say more thenn compliments !

Had a great time for my birthday date. He had the Skirt Steak and I had a half rack. Service adn food were excellent - as was the live music!

Having left Italy with the desire to try American ribs, we found this place where we were absolutely not disappointed.

A must try if in Brooklyn...you will think your down south. Brisket a must try. Great atmosphere, live music at night, offers some outdoor seating and has a gluten free menu as well

Kind and attentive staff, good BBQ cuisine, nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices, that's a change, lots of locals for dinner, I recommend

We went as a family with one of the kids being enamored of dinosaurs. So, he liked and we all liked. The food was quite good and the service excellent.

Met friends for lunch @Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem - was pleasantly surprised by spaciousness, easy access to parking. Hostess, waitress and most importantly, the Q was great! I had 2 combo plate - chicken & brisket with sides of Cole slaw & mashed sweet potato (scrumptious!). Chicken was moist and easily came away from the bone. Friends had ribs, pulled pork. Portion sizes are generous - none of us left hungry. Other reviews complained about rest rooms - don’t know what they expected. They were fine - everything worked, there was soap & paper towels. I don’t ask for more.

I organized my birthday party for 30 people with the restaurant management. They were great and completely accommodating, reserving several tables for us near the bar so my friends could gather, mingle and eat all evening in a casual atmosphere. The staff were great, very attentive and came around often all evening to see who needed a drink or wanted to order food. The food was really good and there was something for everyone. Everybody had a great time, loved the atmosphere and commented to me later about how great the service was. Thank you for making it a great evening for us!

My organization has been going to Dino bbq the last several years for our annual holiday party. The space is always well organized with enough room to stand and chat as well as sit down. The staff is always great with the open bar as well as buffet service . The food is what I always look forward to having every year. Only downside is you have to take the 1 train to get there but it’s worth it after you get there.

Excellent BBQ. Sides are excellent. Service was fair. Bar is very good. Exotic drinks available. Brisket and ribs were very very good

Food was delish! Service was good....the waiter did not rush us....that was appreciated. He was courteous and offered suggestions. We liked the ribs so much that we took an order home! The Henny Colada was delightful. Will be a repeat customer

Full disclosure I am a Texas-born BBQ snob but this trendy NY City restaurant was fabulous! The smoke used to cook is authentic and the sauce is awesome! We had the family style portions and wound up with more than we could eat at one time but man was lunch good the next day! The wings were fantastic as an appetizer and the bourbon glazed cheesecake dessert is to die for! The ribs were succulent and the creamed sweet potatoes were unique and delicious. The service was topnotch and the table and dining room fits chowing down to BBQ! Prices could be lower but we bought enough food for dinner and lunch the next day. Convenient to 125th subway station make sit easy ion and easy out! Get to Dinosaur BBQ today!

Sweet heart for 2 is the way to go! Love the ribs and wango tango wings! Our family’s first choice to celebrate birthdays for the past 15 years ! Staff is so attentive and friendly !

This was my first time at Dinosaur BBQ. I really didn't know what to expect. But when we arrived I knew from the start that I'd enjoy it. The staff and food are good. The place attracts a diverse group of diners of all backgrounds and ages. I loved the fact that a lot of families with children come here too. It makes for a fun dining experience, but one with a large selection of tasty food to choose from. I had the turkey burger with one side (cole slaw). The burger was ample size, prepared well, tasted fresh and met my expectations. Overall this is a fun place to try. I don't always get uptown but whenever I do I'll try and make it a point to stop by here again.
Donkey Punch to the Rescue
So every time I go back to NY I have hit this place up. The food is amazing, the drinks are great and the atmosphere is pure NY. Dinosaur BBQ (Dino's as my friends and I call it) is a great spot for friends and family. It has a bar area, but the restaurant is still very family friendly. Parents and kids would have a great time, as well as couples or groups looking for a place to hang out after work. The most important part? The food is amazing. You just have to have the wings when you visit this place. Their pulled pork is the right combimation of sweet and smokie. The brisket is so tender, and they also have their own bbq sauces which are a great compliment to any dish....oh and definitely get the sweet potato mash. If you're in the NYC area, Dino's is a must visit. Oh, and that Donkey Punch is pure perfection when looking for something to drink. Cheers!
