Really lovely restaurant with brilliant service too. Had bruschetta for starters which was very flavoursome and an excellent pizza straight out of the pizza oven. Very good sauce and crispy base. Even the house wine was of a high quality. Great place for a relaxing lunch or date night.

Great margherita pizza and house salad. Great area and we were seated quickly. Swann was a great server!

This place was amazing! I enjoyed talking with the staff and our waitress! We got the white pizza. Daria was the one taking care of us and she was the sweetest person ever and treated us so well. We had someone with an allergy and she went and asked the chief and made sure everything was taken care of. I would definitely come again and tell everyone about this place! This would be a great place for a date or just catching up! No need to dress all fancy and honestly a really relaxing place!

I went with my boyfriend and his parents after looking for somewhere to eat in the area after a long day of sightseeing. For starters we ordered one portion of cheese garlic bread and one portion of bruschetta to share. Brushetta was ok but was very strong of raw garlic and the cheese bread was mediocre, cheese was stringy but tasteless. Bf had seafood pasta as main and said it was over cooked and plain, basic tomato sauce ($25), I had lasagna at $20 as did bfs father, it was a good portion, hot and tasted ok but it wasn’t authentic, lots of feta and very minimal meat, not worth $20. His mother had a special, chicken and avo but it came without the avo which she was not aware of at the time of ordering and the chicken was the thinest piece I have ever seen and looked so plain and dry, it only came with sliced tomatoes - it was a sorry looking place , her food was also stone cold so we sent it back and that meal was taken off our bill. In all for 2 starters, 3 mains, half a carafe of house white wine and 3 beers the total came to $140. For the price they are charging I wouldnt return, service was slow and they made no apologies for the poor excuse of the ‘special’ meal that arrived.

Came to Don Giovanni accidentally- my family came down off the Highline hungry, and there was Pizza across 10th Ave. Turns out to be much more. We had several excellent salads, a nice pasta dish, some of the most garlicky garlic knots anywhere, and very nice mozzarella rice balls. The highlight for me was the cold cucumber soup, gently seasoned with just enough dill. No pizza, though. They have to shut down the woodfired ovens each day from 3 to 5 to clean out the ashes and restart the fires. While I'm sure the pizza is really excellent, the rest of the menu offerings we tried were really nicely done, and more than compensated, with friendly and accommodating service.

Stopped at this decent Italian-themed restaurant near NYC's High Line and the nearby art galleries. They had good hero sandwiches (I had the sausage hero + tortellini soup). They also have the usual pizza and Italian dinner menu items. There's both indoor & outdoor seating available.

I really enjoy going to Don Giovanni’s restaurant. A pretty nice place with great Italian vibe and relaxed atmosphere. And it’s a family-operated, so that adds to the charm. The brick oven pizza, that the restaurant is famous with, is my favorite and I’ve been to a lot of places. I can always recommend the Bianca pizza. Make it a large one. The service is also top. Great people everywhere. The prices are affordable. Even cheap, compared to some other places. And the cuisine is top class. Like I said – one of my favorites.

If you're visiting Don Giovanni, I wholeheartedly recommend asking for Subhangi. Her excellent service, combined with the restaurant's delightful cuisine, guarantees an unforgettable evening. A true asset to the Don Giovanni team, Subhangi is the epitome of what great service should be!

Really nice staff and very good food. We tried pizza and pasta and were very pleased. Also - the espresso is one of the best we have tried in NY.

Nice italian restaurant, with tables on the sidewalk, charming. Food was delicious, I ordered stuffed shells and they could easilly feed two persons. Price was really good, too. Love it!

Came to Don Giovanni’s solo and everything was perfect. I was seated quickly, the food and wine was super tasty, and my server, Asaf was very hospitable! Would definitely eat here again.

We ate here for lunch, I enjoyed spaghetti with tomato sauce and my partner had pizza. The food was fresh and great Italian food, the service was very good. It's warm and cosy and would recommend dropping by for a delicious, fresh meal.

Stopped by for a lunch. Looked like authentic italien, but sadly it wasnt. Tried the lobster ravioli and cheese pizza and it didnt taste any good. Go somewhere else for a nice lunch.

Hungry after a 3-hour cruise on the Hudson River, followed by an hour walk on the Highline we took the 23rd Street Exit and luckily discovered Don Giovanni on 10th Avenue. Lots to choose from in this restaurant decorated with 'old-time family' photos in ornate frames. On a warm, sunny November afternoon we could have dined outside on the patio, but stayed inside the cozy room seated by a window table, yet still close to the pizza oven. Staff were friendly, food was exceedingly flavorful; we lunched on Lobster Ravioli in Pink Sauce and the Pumpkin Squash Ravioli special. Delicious fresh bread used to soak up the sauces and glasses of wine complemented the lunch.

I've been going to this Chelsea neighborhood fave for 24 years, and it's always great, but last week I had the absolute best pizza I've ever had there. The perfect ratio of thin crust to delicate tasty tomato sauce to nice melty cheese. The tiramisu was also amazing and the delicious cappuccino came with a rock candy swizzle stick. Our waiter (I'm going to butcher his name, so I'll just use his initials, A.S.) was awesome as always - super-welcoming and just the right amount of attentiveness. Love this place!

This looks like a great Italian restaurant, but stay away! First, the positive: Fabulous service from our waiter and the rest of the staff. And the linguini was perfectly cooked. And the interior is nice. And they have outdoor seating. But - the Linguini Vongole was just atrocious! There was a pile of something disgusting in the middle that my wife suggested might be clams from a bag? Awful. My 8-year old son, who loves clams and always tells me not to be so critical, basis he couldn't eat it. Neither could I. On the card we received at the end: "Don Giovanni says: If my pasta and pizza is not the best in the city, I will stop singing. " Well Don, time to clam up! Maybe the pizza is edible.

I would really recommend coming here!! The service was fantastic, our lovely waitress, Pooja, was very insightful and helpful when it came to us asking specific questions about some dishes on the menu. We ended up trying the Spaghetti with meat sauce which was very seasoned and I ended up having the chicken parm sandwich which was truly delicious. I enjoyed the cheese and the texture from the meal. Overall, the food was reasonability priced and we felt very welcomed here. If you’re ever in the area, I would recommend coming down!

We came across this restaurant after walking back from a boat tour at Chelsea Pier. My husband is a sucker for a proper pizza oven! Needless to say, it was pizza he went for and he was happy to announce that it was the perfect thin, bubbly, crispy base. He ordered a large one and in truth, it was enough for a small family but he IS a very greedy man! I had the crab ravioli and it was lovely. A nice crab taste with a sauce that wasn't overwhelming. The children had pizza and spaghetti respectively and both thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiter was friendly and attentive (one of our better experiences of waiters in New York City) and the restaurant had a nice, laidback vibe. Would recommend if you're in the area.

A friendly welcome and great service throughout. Great range of soups and pastas. No complaints about this small and charming Italian slightly off the main area of Times Square. Surprised at the low cost total presented by the bill. Definitely recommended.

The wine list is great. Have to admit, though, I almost always order the rigatoni with meatballs -- I'm a creature of habit. This place is atop my list of restaurants when visiting the galleries in the West 20s and in Chelsea. Good lunch spot. Staff is responsive and nice, always.

My family stopped off at this Chelsea Italian restaurant for a light lunch today. We ordered one small special pizza and a side order of garlic bread between us. The pizza and garlic bread were delicious. The amount we ordered was perfect as a light lunch for three to share. I highly recommend this lovely Italian restaurant.

So wonderful to dine outdoors in a spacious, safe, distance-protected but still open to the outdoors restaurant, with great linguine and clams made absolutely Roman style, al dente and with a lovely garlic and white wine seasoned light sauce, just enough to hold onto the pasta without engulfing it and hand-made fresh pizzas, not overly doughy but not overly thin and crackerlike either. The waiters, though also serving indoor customers, are attentive, courteous, and actually know about the food and wine they are serving. And it's affordable too. A terrific way to welcome springtime and to begin to realize how beautiful is New York....it takes a village, indeed. And this restaurant, which could thrive in Rome even, is a gem in our town.

The food was delicious & the service was great. Our server Asaf was exceptional. He always came to the table with a smile & he did whatever he could to….Acquiese our requests. Asaf was as auspicious as he was attentive to our accommodations. Highly recommend!!

Yum. Great pizza at this Italian cafe near the High Line. In the midst of a sightseeing pedal around town, Giovanni was a perfect stop.

Very good restaurant if you want to eat thin, crispy wood-fired pizzas! The penne cooked simply with tomatoes was also very good. All inclusive for 80usd tip and taxes included for 3 people, impeccable!

Absolutely delicious and warmth service!! We have been there on 27th july 2023 with family (parents, granddad, 2 teenager) as for the end of our holiday. Have had classic Margherita Pizza (nice, fruity, crispy), handmade fettuccini with champignon mushroom truffle sauce (fantastic!!), linguine alla vongole (mjam…) and two times chicken parmigiana (great). Plus rose wine, Sangria. We had a really really good dinner and a nice time. What we would like to add or better underline: the team is great!! Not even for dinner but also for taking care of their guests. Our granddad got some strong and serious health problems when we just wanted to leave the restaurant. The whole team took care for us, in a very nice and helpful way. At the end they called the ER and in hospital they diagnosed a stroke. Thank god our granddad was lucky and can already walk and talk again. He will be fine again in some weeks. And by the end of the week we can fly back to Germany. We are so thankful for the help of the team from Don Giovannis. And sorry for the extra work we made. Next time in NYC, we will come back and enjoy a lovely dinner at your restaurant!! Take care and all the best for the whole team! 🙏❤️

Nice restaurant, we had lasagna, French chicken and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was quite bland, lacked seasonings

Lovely wait staff, very friendly, but the quality of meal (very simple pasta dish) compared with the price was disappointing. (two people, two pasta meals, bread for appetiser plus half a carafe of red was nearly $150 AUS).

Really enjoyed the pizza di carne Great coal fit, thin New York style pizza Parking is convenient on Sundays

An amazing restaurant with brilliant food! We had mussels and two fantastic pizzas, hosted by the brilliant Asaf! Thoroughly recommend! Great value as well!

We just happened upon Don Giovanni after coming down off the High Line at 23rd St. It was happy hour so we popped in for apps and cocktails. Great service from Elias and the burrata salad was delicious! Definitely worth a stop in if you’re in the neighborhood.

Had a most delightful dinner sitting outside, a great menu selection at very reasonable prices. A bonus was the superb Sangria to accompany our meal. Give this venue a try if you are close, the service was prompt and friendly ticks all the boxes

We were on a bus tour and hungry before we went on the line. Our family of four were happy with the pasta and pizza - authentic and quick. Sunlight and a good table made it a great lunch stop for us :)

The pizza was amazing as was the pasta my daughter and I shared. The restaurant is quaint with great , old pictures. The service was excellent. It is a bit small inside, so if you need a wider space due to wheelchair usage, just let them know and they will make room for your chair. In addition, it was close to Chelsea Piers.

We went here because the menu looked fine & we saw a tripadvisor sticker so we thought to give it a go. There were a couple chefs specialties & we thought we would not do wrong with a specialty of the house.. we were so wrong. The chickenfilet was a sad little thin slice of chicken that would not even feed a 5 yr old. The potatoes were not done & there was zero taste. If you are in the area there are way better (italian) restaurants.

We were 4 people and we shared the dishes; service was good . The pastas and the pizza were tasty and properly cooked so we enjoyed the dinner.

Its a simple local pizza place. We went there as a casualty and were surprise the brick oven pizza is GREAT!!! Try this place if you want to know how really good pizza should taste.

Wow! What a hidden gem! We decided to come check outhis place with some friends. It was a true taste of Italy! For appetizers we had bruschetta, burratta and the mussels, which were large portions. Then we had a salad and pizza. The only thing that beat the food was the service! Chris was amazing and so attentive to our table.

Delicious food and great outdoor space. We felt very safe. Asaf was the best waiter! Make sure to get the cannoli’s:)

Found this restaurant near our Intercontinental Hotel in Times Square. The $7.00 Happy Hour Martini's on the sign outside caught our attention. Not the best house Vodka, but what do you want for $7.00 in Times Square?? The Burrata mozzarella Pomodori (cream filled mozzarella) – Garden Fresh Tomatoes, Fresh Basil appetizer was very good. Service was OK considering how busy they were. The Pizza and other menu items looked very good - unfortunately we had other plans for dinner, and never made it back to try other choices. Worth a stop for Happy Hour!

Great service and food. Good for kids. Nice ambiance and quiet. Been coming here for decades and always a crowd pleaser.

Enjoyed eating Outdoors. Nicole, our waitress was lovely, attentive and professional. The food was cooked perfectly. Mushrooms and truffle pappardelle was delicious, but wish the portion was larger for this dish, compared to other pastas that were served. Sausage with pasta in red sauce is a delicious thick chunky style sauce. House salad and Caesar salads were overpriced at 9.95, but tasted good. A suggestion is to heat the bread before serving and serve with butter or olive oil. Next time I will order light on the sauce. There's a heavy hand on the sauces and the salad dressings.

We came across this restaurant for lunch after walking the High Line. It was a lovely sunny day and the place was very busy. We managed to grab a table outside and got served pretty quickly though the service seemed a bit frantic. We had a margharita pizza to share and it was delicious! Freshly made and stone cooked I would highly recommend. With a glass of wine, 2 beers and a coke, the bill including tip came to around $45 which I felt was reasonable. We would definitely return.

The grilled mushroom as a starter was terrific, as was the superb pizza. However, the other items were a bit lacking at best. Friendly waiter made up for a mistake on the order. Fine place if you are hungry and passing by. Not worth going out of your way for...

Nice place but not so nice food, the top of the pizza is good but the crust is bad, not crunchy at all, service is good, enviroment is great, price is good, but food could be better!

I was very pleased with their pizza with goat cheese , eggplants and fresh tomatoes - hot, crusty, delicious.

Delicious food, a great selection for all the family. Staff are warm and friendly. Don’t forget to try one of their cocktails!

Such a great place for a bite to eat with friends and family. Our server Mann was so great and gave great recommendations. Will definitely be back, great food!

Unassuming spot on 10th - excellent, polite service, great food! 9:30p on a Sunday- hungry, most places closed ••• great find! The eggplant parm was delicious, good pastas, and the mini ricotta canoli’s yummy! Modestly priced, not fancy, but a great meal!

The Don Giovanni doesn't look all that sensational from the street, but this place has an atmosphere is very welcoming and the pizzas really good. We dropped in for a large pepperroni and a glass of wine and were very satisfied.

Greeting upon arrival and Service made us feel like regulars. Brick oven Rustica Pizza was perfect and traditional thin crust. Loved this afternoon lunch break.

Fabulous food, large portions, good service. Right off the High Line, we stumbled on this restaurant and were so glad we did. The pizza is fantastic! Ate every morsel even though I was full because it was so delicious. Great find!

Our waiter Mann was very attentive and helped us right away as soon as we sat down. I always come here for dinner and the service has always been exceptional

this 25 year old restaurant is a great find, with outstanding food and service. Exceedingly friendly and pleasant dining experience. Had pasta dishes that were very tasty

Best pizza I had since my visit in Napoli some years ago. I had a californian which I assume is an American variant but nevertheless, very tasty. My wife had a different pizza and she was also pleased. Served by a young waitress who was very helpful and service minded.

A surprise find. The food was incredible, and after a long day, it was nice to see a smiling face and deal with friendly wait staff. They made sure we were taken care of and the food was great. The Lentil soup was amazing, and I'm going to find a copycat recipe. The dessert was great, and we were able to charge our phones. They are not stingy on the liquor in their drinks. My daughter had the Linguine Alfredo with Chicken. I had the Chicken Francese, which has a Lemon White Wine Sauce. It wasn't a cheap meal. But for some reason, I wasn't upset about it. The wait staff really did a great job.

we wanted a place near the Highline,a dn this was perfect. Went for lunch and they had a full menu, when form the outside it looks more like a pizza place. The brunch menu was quite extensive and our omelets were excellent. the staff was very pleasant and you sit overlooking the kitchen, very clean and everything that came out looked good

Staff were funny informative and helpful. Food was good as was service. Friendly atmosphere. Really enjoyed our evening

Fantastic aldente pasta full of flavor. Had the rustica, eggplant parma and carbonnara. Quick service and reasonable prices for nyc.

It’s rare to find a place where you can actually talk without too much loud music and have good food in NY. We highly recommend the burrata!

Great pizza! Went for lunch during work and it was cheap and fast. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Mann was very helpful.

Really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, service was great. The pizza is hearty. A great place to stop while sightseeing!

We spent the afternoon on an architectural cruise around Manhattan (really great time) and after spending some time in Chelsea were looking for a place for dinner. We found Don Giovanni’s - clearly a neighborhood Italian restaurant and not a tourist spot - just what we wanted. The salads and food were first rate and the waitress was as friendly as could be.

The food was delicious!! I had ravioli and it was superb!! Best service from Asaf! Would recommend this place to anyone living or visiting New York!!

Fabulous food. A great little restaurant in Hells Kitchen. Visited twice during our holiday - lovely Pasta and pizzas. Highly recommend

Not pretentious. Indoor and Outdoor seating. Cozy place. Great tasting food. Reasonable prices. Perfect for families, dinner dates or solo.

Ate here and it was very good and reasonably priced. had a good time and saw little kid. 10/10 recommend

Great service, the food is amazing. Everything is fresh and you can taste it in every bite!! Definitely coming back here! Asaf was a great host!

We stumbled upon this restaurant and the first impressions sold it to us. I had the pizza, which is absolutely amazing; so fresh and full of flavour. The restaurant is small but the staff are very accommodating and will make sure you have a great meal (which we definitely did). Good selection of food and drink at a reasonable price for the area. Recommended

We just had the most amazing family dinner in Don Giovanni! The food is fresh and delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the service is excellent. Asaf took great care of my family and my dog. We will be back tomorrow night for some more delicious food!

In a rush to get to a show with friends walked in and took our chances. Sat right away. Bread and water came immediately. Everyone at the table had something different and all were impressed. My Bolognese was soooooooooo good, could not even finish. Another dish was white clam sauce and they to were loving it. All there pasta's are homemade. Service was great.

This place has great pizza (even for NYC standards) and I am always treated great by the staff. You will always have a great meal here!

Pizza, salads, soups and paste dihes are some of the best in the city and prices are low. The service has always been good and energetic, Full bar service, many beer and wine choices. Pizza toppings offer wide variety

My daughter and I stayed in Chelsea for a week and we ate at this restaurant twice and both times the food was very good. On our first visit the waitress we had was not at all interested in working so we ended up having to complain to get service but since the food was good we gave it another try. On our second visit the waiter was much better and the food was just as good. We will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

We walked in off the street, having perused the menu outside and noting there were plenty of vegetable appetisers. As it happened we shared two entrees, a pesto & mushroom risotto and special californian pizza, both delicious. The wait staff were friendly, polite and also helped with details and selctions from the menu. Service was efficient, given it was a Sunday and the place was full. We finished off with the homemade Tirimasu to share.

Today I went with my children to buy takeaway food, while we waited for the food my children sat outside, we were deciding to eat there, because the place seemed good to us, but the waiter asked us to leave because we couldn't eat there. No recommended for racist place.

Don Giovanni has a great Italian food in a casual , fun decor. Music and conversation is possible here in romantic setting. Our waiter Asaf was quite accommodating and made our meal even more enjoyable. I definitely recommend Don Giovanni with great pizzas , Italian food, casual, comfortable setting makes it my go to for years to come. And it has been my one of my favorite spots for friends and family ; and they all love it!!!!

This is a nice little place. We were seated promptly - sat on the patio outside. We ordered the pizza - one pepperoni, one with chicken, sun dried tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella - it arrived in short order, piping hot and very tasty. Unless you're big eaters, two people can split one small pizza and feel like they've had a good meal. Recommended. Would go there again.

Found this family home style Italian place three blocks from Times Square NYC 🍷Perfect for quiet Christmas Eve family dinner. Savory classics! One of the best Irish coffees I've had 😀 and no skimping on tequila in their margaritas 😀 Also a famous NYC site for improv comedy.

It was a big surprise to find that the number of serving staff was so high and yet attention to detail was so lacking. We were sat near the serving counter and could see the missing starter for 15 minutes before it joined very late to the other starters ordered. Given other comments here it would be good to see a management comment and steps to address this.

We popped in for some lunch this afternoon and the pizza that we ordered was excellent. We ordered two different pizzas and both were really good. The staff were very friendly and worthy of their tip. All in all, a nice experience

My family went after having a blast at The Phantom of the Opera. The waitress talked to us at our language, spanish. She was very friendly. We ate the Pizza Di Carne and my daughter ate the Margheritta. The pizza was excellent. For desert we tried the tiramisu and the canollis. To die for. Great place and friendly and attentive personnel.

My wife eats vegan and gluten free. On the web meny at Don Giovannis homepage they have a section with vegan and gluten free. Arriving at the restaurant getting the meny this section was gone. The only dish they could offer vegan and gluten free was penne with broccoli and spinach, extremely disappointing. However, I had a lasagna which was very good.

Everything was delicious! I had a pizza with fig preserves, pear, goat cheese and arugula. My husband had a ricotta, mozzarella and pepperoni. We will definitely be back. Wonderful food and great service.

Came across this place while looking at local galleries. It had a lovely outdoor space that first got my attention. You walk into the place and you're simply transported TP another time... The decor is eclectic and the service is superb. My waiter was Taylor who went out of his way in service, friendliness and overall experience. The food was great and the ambience of the place added to that experience. I loved it

We were looking for a Nice simpel place and a terrace. We ended up here and were so surprised! Very friendly waiters, quick and willing to serve you Well. Pasta tasted qreat and we loved the pizza! And the wine was also good!

Shiva was our server. He was very helpful and attentive. Got the Rustica Pizza. Loved it! 10/10 would recommend. Definitely coming back.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing food! I had the Pesto linguini which was so authentic and tasty! True Italian food! Janine was the amazing server that helped me navigate the menu and offered great suggestions!

Had an amazing time at Don G’s ... one of my favorite Chelsea haunts! Asaf is THE BOMB and the staff rocks it too! Visit for a delicious meal and a great time!

This is one of many inviting Chelsea restaurants. I chose this one late on an early August night because I had been here on a previous trip to NYC where I ate lunch at the bar. On that visit Billy Joel was also eating lunch. I guess that says it all.

We had a reservation at 7 but were killing time so arrived an hour early and they were more than happy to accommodate. We were seated by the window, perfect for people watching. The restaurant is a very friendly, authentic and traditional family run place. The decor is rustic with pretty fairy lights. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Good wine too! Highly recommend.

stepped in for a bite of pizza on a rainy day (end of july 2016) they could not offer any as their oven was getting cleaned got some pasta instead: nothing special they seem to be living in the 19th century there: would not produce a printed receipt, only some hand written note instead!!! can you believe that? 21st century in NYC!

Really welcoming, nice to find such tasty food and somewhere where it's ok to share a salad and a couple of sodas

Came here on a whim after a soccer game at Chelsea Piers - good pizza, good vibes, and *dog friendly outside*. We had Shiva as our server and he was awesome - got our pup water, checked in on us goldilocks style: not too often, but didn’t ignore us. If you want a laid back, inexpensive joint with good grub and good service, this is the place to go (get basil on your pizza).

Stopped in for a quick slice of pizza after seeing a sign outside of the restaurant saying they sold the “Best Pizza in New York”. This place was great. The servers were attentive and friendly and the service was very quick. This is a great place to visit if you would like to try some authentic NY pizza. You can taste the coal flavor on the crust and the pizza didn’t feel too heavy. The restaurant was very clean too.

We were looking for a nice place for Saturday night dinner and found Don Giovanni's...outdoor tables full so we sat inside...service was excellent and four or us shared a Caesar salad, baked ziti and their meat special pizza...plenty of food and everything was delicious!! Prices were very reasonable and we really enjoyed our experience here!! So if you are looking for a bite and you don't want a fancy, overpriced restaurant- this is a great option! On 10th Avenue right near the corner of 23rd street!

We were looking for a place to have an evening meal on my birthday. The staff made us feel very welcome- even put candles on my dessert. We had the pizza- shared two different kinds with our friends.

I had the chicken parm w penne, large serving, I couldnt finish it all but it as very good, smothered in melty mozzerella.

Jahnie was an amazing server! The food was good portion and delicious. I highly recomend if your looking into Italian food!!!

We stopped in on our way to Chelsea Piers. Everything was delicious!! Friendly staff!! Garlic knots with marinara for an appetizer was so awesome!!!

My date and I shared a pepperoni thin-crust pizza which was excellent. Her tiramisu was delicious and our appetizers also. We ate fairly early in the evening and the restaurant was not crowded. I would consider coming again.

Amazing and fast service! Asaf made it all the worthwhile. Would highly recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood. Fresh ingredients!

From street it didn’t look very appealing. But we stopped to read the menu they had setup outside. They had some cheap railing setup for no reason surrounding the menu like it was in some high security menu jail. As we were reading it a staff member ran out with an attitude telling us not to touch the railing because it’s not bolted down. It was almost like an Italian version of pranked. I felt setup. When I realized he was serous, and this railing meant everything to him. I vowed Don Giavani and all his staff would never see a green back from this American.

I've been here multiple times over the years. Always great food and service. Nice outside area along the sidewalk to eat. Shiva was our waiter today, and was very helpful. Great brick oven pizza, and my wife loved the gnocchi. We will be back!

Very satisfying neighborhood restaurant - the grilled salmon was very good and came with rosemary potatoes and broccoli...very generous portion as well. The chicken marsala was also very good - a little sweeter than most, but good. The portobello caps with spinach and balsamic was an excellent starter suggested by our waiter. We did not have time for dessert - next time!

My husband and I found this place in Chelsea. We hopped off the High Line and stumbled across this place. We were lucky enough to get a table outside and got the best waiter. He was very attentive. He recommended the sangria, which was very good. I got the Lasagna and my husband got the Chicken Marsala. The food was excellent and very authentic. I've read some bad reviews and felt I needed to post this, because it was truly the end of a perfect day in New York. It's worth a try to taste for yourself that this place is great.

A nice small place to enjoy a good original pizza. Fine decoration, gentle service and, most important, tastefull pizzas - just like the good ones from Italy or São Paulo, Brazil.

Great setting on the west side of manhattan! Food was great and Asaf service was exceptional! Definitely will be coming back! Chicken Parm was delicious!

Popped into this restaurant to rest our feet after walking the highline in Chelsea! Best Authentic Italian pasta I’ve tasted! Janine was an amazing server! Would highly recommend and definitely plan on coming back!

After a day enjoying some of the Chelsea art galleries, Don Giovanni looked like a good place to relax and refuel. We were seated inside near the kitchen, where we could see that the place is bustling, between onsite diners and delivery orders. Our beer and sangria and a basket of bread and butter arrived promptly, and we chatted with a nice couple at the next table while our food was prepared. Traditional pizza was thin crusted with a good tomato sauce, and al dente fettuccine primavera with cream sauce was delicious. Side salads were not included. The sangria was good, served in a small wineglass. Prices were very reasonable, and I would recommend Don Giovanni.

I ordered the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was okay, but the sauce was very good. My girlfriend got the chicken parmesan, it was a very big portion! If you’re an active sangria drinker, I may recommend something else. Our waiter Shiva was very friendly. Great service!

As always, I'm hunting for good gluten free food. I've eaten here a number of times and I usually order their delicious portobello mushrooms, this time I ordered the mushrooms and their polenta and spinach. I am now hooked on the polenta & (garlicky) spinach!

Every time I go to Don Giovanni I leave happy. I could eat this stuff every night. Asaf served us tonight and he was great—fast service, felt very comfortable!

Great service, pizza was really crispy and good. Mo was the man, really friendly and we enjoyed dining a lot!

We pass this restaurant literally dozens of times every week, living on 10th Avenue and were excited to find it. The excitement faded quickly: the pizza is totally nondescript and the pasta tends to be overcooked and not particularly tasty. Big disappointment, especially on a street with two much better Italian restaurants a block south (Bottino) or north (Pepe Giallo).

Yes the pizza’s are ok but the service is average and forget about the wines: poor choice and quality. A bit to expensive for what they offer.

We were staying at the InterContinental on January 2, and found this little gem less than a block away. After a harrowing day being evacuated from our cancelled cruise in Barbados and feeling like tired hungry refugees, the staff here made us feel welcome and told us that another table were also stranded Canadians. We ended up joining their table and having a wonderful meal. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the ambiance was cozy and very Italian. We will be back in New York in April and will definitely be eating here again.

Wonderful pasta. Good glass of wine and good service. We stayed on the deck and it was delightful. A restaurant find!!

Great pizza and appetizers! Had the bruschetta, burrata, ans pizza. So good and will keep coming back

We have eaten there over the years and the food was always decent. Not great, but not greasy fast food either. Good middle of the road fare. Something has evidently changed because we were shown to a table in the empty restaurant and then, with four employees gathered around the bar laughing and telling jokes, nobody thought to bring us water, ask us what we would like to drink or tell us about the specials. We looked over a few times, but nobody seemed to remember that we were there. After more than ten minutes of this, we got up and walked out. We are not super demanding people, but when the number of employees outnumbers the diner count and they are still too busy to pay attention to the diners, we thought it would be better to eat elsewhere. Perhaps they are doing so well that losing business from hungry customers doesn't matter.

Lasagna was cold inside. Spaghetti had uncooked lumps of vegetables and was thrown together. Not too expensive, but not great . Waiter offered free desert and coffee which was nice but too little too late..

Great menu selection to choose from. Restaurant is charming. We ordered 2 small pizzas (6 large slices per pizza) and veal scallopini. Everything was wonderful. Prices were very reasonable. Next time we're in NYC, we will return.

While I adore the delectableness of Don Giovanni's oven pan pizza I really wanted something light and fresh. The smell of bubbling marinara and luscious seared meat, possibly beef smelled outrageously delicious. The atmosphere was busy, vibrant and lively. The waiter was pleasant and sat me down in a timely manner along with my order of arugula, fresh green beans, gorgonzola cheese, cherry tomatoes with shrimp, steamed calamari, fresh garlic, red onion with spinach and a zesty balsamic that was superb. My garlic knots once again was the perfect combination with my fully loaded salad. I had hot tea with a side of lime and I enjoyed my evening. Now just need to get my family to stop for a moment to enjoy this with me. I am sure that it will be a family winner! #Deliciousfoodinspirations!

Food was great. But service was horrible. We had 3 different people from the wait staff being our food/drinks. Never really knew who our actual waiter was. And those who did serve our table never introduced themselves. Took forever to flag someone for refills and to get our check. And for an upper scale restaurant, I was not appreciative of the owner’s 3 children running around the restaurant and into the kitchen.

Pizza in firewood oven and salads were exceptional...and the brochette is also fabulous! Everything we saw brought out of the kitchen looked fresh and delicious! Family owned and operated in a low key comfortable setting. The window tables or out door tables offer people watching. We just happened in and were totally surprised at the quality of food and service.

Perfect service and dinner at Don Giovanni restaurant in Chelsea, thank you so much to our waiver Janine who was really nice !!

Excellent little Italian Restaurant. Seems to be popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Lovely food and good wine. Quick service & friendly staff. Would definitely visit again if I was in New York. It's quite easy to find if you happen to be taking a walk along the 'high line' attraction.

We found this restaurant by chance and so glad we did. Great pizza and just a quick walk to the High Line. We were in NY with our friends who were visiting from the UK and they loved the pizza and friendly service too. Thanks so much - we will be visiting again soon!

Went with my husband, our teenage son and his friend so we tried 3 different pies. Every one was delicious! Friendly staff too! Outside seating looked great too!

Drinks and service are incredible! I can’t recommend this place enough. Staff made us feel like we were long lost relatives.

Came here with my boyfriend and had a fantastic dinner! Mann was a kind and attentive server! Would definitely visit again.

We were doing the Highline and this restaurant came up on a google map as a recommendation. We visited mid afternoon and the staff could not have been less welcoming!! The waitres barely raised a smile and a lot of the staff were having their lunch which is fine but a smile goes along way!! We ordered pizzas and a salad and a lasagne. The lasagne was cold in the middle and not very nice at all. They did reheat it but again no smiles or even a proper attempt to apologise for this! we couldn't leave quickly enough!!

They are incredibly rude and service is awful. Being a local New Yorker, who eats out a lot, this is the first time I have ever experienced such poor quality of service. The order wasn't as I expected and so I gave the waitress my feedback. Instead of being helpful, she literally snatched the plate from under me. I asked to speak with the manager and she told me to go call him myself. I went up to talk to him and he kept me waiting for 10 minutes (as my food got cold). Awful experience.

I enjoyed this restaurant. The pizza was amazing. The staff was attentive. I enjoyed the tiramisu. Authentic. Go. This is in the Chelsea section of NYC. There is another in Times Square.

Was recommended this restaurant, glad we tried it. Garlic knots were amazing, pizza and pasta delicious. The restaurant is lovely, with dome great pictures/photos on the walls. Service and staff 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 superb, so friendly

Great local italian restaurant. No fuzziness. Great tasty pizza, nice pasta dishes, and a great summer gazpacho soup. Friendly , polite, quick staff. Have been going to their Chelsea location for the past 8 years.highly recommended.

Reminds me so of homeee!!! Pasta is amazing and their pizza is excellent too. Recommend getting one large pizza for two people. Also their iced cappuccino is something that you must try(If Nina, I believe that's her name makes it). Their food in general is just excellent. very affordable

My wife and I spent mist of the day working on our taxes. Grrr. I said, "Let's reward our good behavior." We know Din Giovanni has good food at very reasonable prices. Plus it's kind of romantic. Our waiter Asaf's friendly good service made the evening sweeter. Will I get a kiss when we get home? Only Don Giovanni knows!

The BEST Meatballs I've ever eaten....just WOW and full of flavor yet light while served on a bed of sautéed spinach. Tender and flavorful. Great, friendly staff as well !

Asaf was an amazing server! He was fun and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and I will most definitely be back

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant after walking the Highline. We had a superb evening, the pizza was lovely, the house red, smooth and very drinkable, the background music was great. We spent a very enjoyable 2.5 hrs there. The staff were friendly, helpful andspot on without being intrusive. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

We were very happy to take the elevator down off the High Line (we weren't impressed) at W23rd St, to come across this restaurant. Cold beers and garlic knots really hit the spot, and the thin crust pizza was the best we had in New York. Friendly service, and some great, cheesy Italian opera decor too. Loved this place.

The pesto linguine was great, recommended by our server Janine. Great for dinner before a show at the McKittrick Hotel

Me and my cousins were looking to try new Italian Restaurant and we chose Don Giovanni because our friends recommended it. I have to say I was highly satisfied with the service. The server, Shubhangi was very friendly and helpful. I loved the overall ambiance of the place, it was very warm and cozy and perfect for a winter night dinner. Being an art enthusiast, I loved looking around the art work and the music really set a relaxing mood.

Two couples for lunch. Menu delivered and then for twenty minutes to half an hour nothing not even a drink. Then we ordered and after maybe an hour food arrived. The food was OK at best The place incidemtally was 80% empty. When we asked what had happened to out order we were told as there were four of us that was the cause of the delay. Three of us had salads! When asked had we enjoyed the meal I informed him that we had not and that their service was awful he then attempted to embrace my wife who shouted at him not to touch her. Service in New York is usually wonderful. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Outstanding. The house salad came with lots of veggies and a great salad dressing. I kept it simple and ordered the spaghetti with tomato sauce. Heaven.

Visited this restaurant many times and it’s always a great meal. The staff is always great and if you spend some extra time with friends, never rushed. Love the pizzas and I always get one to go. Enjoy.

We found this restaurant in Chelsea walking around, the atmosphere is beautiful, with italian traditional (awful) music that at the end i must admit is relaxing... Prices are high, but we ate only a large pizza margherita (19 $) so we are in 2 adults and 1 child. Pizza was of medium quality but alright. Service was very kind. In.general a good evening.

An excellent authentic Italian restaurant nestled in down down NY, you would go a long way to beat this for flavour and value. After touching down and finding lodgings in the Big Apple, this was a great find. Entree servings big enough to fill main meal sizes elsewhere, we chose chicken parmigiana for $14US and Linguini Fruitti Del Mare for a touch under 20 bucks. Washed down with a house red, these were special loaded with flavour and served in record time. A choice of 22 different pizzas along with most other Italian favourites are also available, but I think we've found a regular eat for our 6 days here, this was fantastic and service was brilliant also with pearls of local knowledge thrown in for free. Thanks guys and girls, we'll surely be back. Bellissimo!!

Good sangria and bruschetta. We stopped for a mid day snack only, but we will be back. Good location, friendly staff

We came across this restraunt while we came off the highline and walking towards 5th avenue. The restaurant was busy but we got seated in no time. The service was quick. The server was pleasant. The food was good.

As a resident of Chelsea I am fortunate to have lots of great neighborhood establishments to choose from, and Don Giovanni is one of my favorites. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance is terrific. Outdoor seating is available, and the interior is warm and inviting--especially if you can nab a seat close to the brick oven. We have been eating at Don Giovanni for years and have never had a disappointing dining experience. The wine list could stand a little improvement, but the beer selection is very good and the food is consistently delicious and well priced. The portions are very generous.

You have to try this place when in New York, excellent service, excellent food and great atmosphere. Arije is the best!🥰😍👍🏽

Four of us had a really nice impromptu classic homey italian dinner at Don Giovanni in Chelsea last week with local friends. We enjoyed a delicious coal-fired margarita pizza as an appetizer followed by a mixture of traditional and not so traditional favorites: Spaghetti and meat balls, homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce, and homemade papparadelle with mushrooms and truffle oil and our pescaterian friend had shrimp florentine over pasta. Sides were a nice crisp arugula salad with pear and gorgonzola with dressing on the side and a delicious portion of spinach with roasted garlic. It was a very cold spring night and we sat inside in a quiet corner, sharing a bottle of Don Giovanni Sardinian white (for the girls) and Valpolicella red for the guys. Our server, Asaf, was terrific. Friendly and attentive, he gave us great recommendations and helped make an ordinary Thursday night into a special occasion. We live in the neighborhood so we’ll definitely be back.

Came here before a show at The McKittrick Hotel - low key, food was quite good and reasonably priced. Our server, Janine, was great and gave some great recommendations!

Found this lovely restaurant whilst roaming the streets around Times Square for a meal. Looked relatively busy for a Friday night so that’s a good sign. Attentive service, nice meal of meatballs and then a Pizza. More than enough for one. Good drinks option and well priced.

My husband and I ate here recently and had a wonderful time! The food was perfect and the wine suggestions spot on. There was a singer performing during our meal and it was truly delightful. Our server, Asaf gave us great advice on food choices and was attentive without being overbearing. We will be back again!

We came with two persons to Don Giovanni near Times Square for dinner. We were welcomed warmly and orders were brought fast. Our chosen pasta was very delicious. But, with the bill the waiter wanted us to pay 18% gratuity extra and showed us the menu for justification. We did not pay this extra fare, since the menu says, that it must be paid from a group of six upwards. We left the restaurant disappointed by this clumsy attempt to take money from us.

The service was great! Our server Asaf was very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the calamari and bruschetta and mushroom for appetizers which were all good. And the pesto was amazing 👌🏼

Great location, in Chelsea, just steps off the High line, make this a popular pizza stop. They also have a nice street front patio to enjoy the warm weather. The sign says the best brick oven pizza in New York. I take exception to that claim. The pizza was good, but it was great. The crust wasn't very crisp and the topping felt a bit soggy. The service was okay, but scattered. The servers spent too much time talking to each other. Small things like beverage refills never happened. It wasn't awful, it wasn't great - falls right in the middle.

Looking for pizza in a cozy setting. This place is charming with very attentive staff. The salads were so fresh! Enjoyed the pizza (delicious crust) and beers.

Tonight my wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary here. I had the chicken Marsala and my wife had the vodka penne. The food came out quickly and lived up to the reviews of excellence. Shiva was our server and did an outstanding job waiting on us. We’re visiting from South Carolina and looking forward to returning in the near future.

We loved the experience dining here for lunch. Our mains were tasty and ample, plus being a Coeliac I was very pleased with the gluten free dish I had. It was a hot day and we also appreciated the cool! We would go back.

Super charming Matt gave us top service! Pizza and Lasagna to die for and great value for money! Charming location! Cold beer!
Great Pizza
Shiva was an excellent server! We loved the food. We had a nice day outside and enjoyed our pizza. They were accommodating of our change in ingredients.
