Queues for the sake of queues. Stuck in line with a drunk smoker for 25mins which made the whole experience rubbish. Food average.

Cocktails in the back room were simply out if this world. The front bar does pre mixed cocktails, good, but not in the same league as the back room. Had sweet and savory cocktails, we tried a lot, and couldn't fault them! Staff super helpful and very knowledgeable. The food was great too. Long lines to get in if you don't have a reservation, which are hard to get, but worth it.

We queued for an hour and a half to try the chicken burger, an alternative to the classic one which seemed tempting following the reviews on the web. It's actually nothing more than a burger filled with ultra-fried, greasy chicken wings that are difficult to finish and digest. We wanted a beer but we couldn't get anything else to drink other than cocktails that we chose to our taste, good but the size of the cocktail was really small. Total price for two burgers, popcorn chicken and two cocktails $96 (€88)

We went Saturday night for dinner and a drink at this famous New York institution. My experience is mixed because 1/ YES, the burger is absolutely amazing - one of the best I have eaten and I still dream of it 😍 2/ Victim of its success, it takes several steps patiently to appreciate it A) register at the queue while moving to the restaurant and wait to be called back - we waited 3 hours B) The cocktail drunk in the first bar at the entrance can not be taken in the speakeasy behind so we had to drink very quickly C) We definitely recommend a second cocktail in the speakeasy - I found them very average despite what they say D) Wine is not good E) We were pressed to leave and then hunt after 1 hour when we were ready to re-consume drinks In short, I would come back for the burger with my eyes closed but only for the burger because the service is awful, and do not plan to spend your evening there.

What a place. Uber cool, perfect lights, pieces of design scattered around, in a welcoming naturally chic environment . The cocktails, divided into appetizers, main course and desserts were superb. My reversed manhattan was spectacular. The staff kind and caring, always smiling .. which is not exactly a standard in NY. Probably one of the best cocktail bar I have tried .

Stopped by Double Chicken Please on a weekend evening. The space has a trendy, speakeasy vibe and service was smooth. Cocktails were creative but tasted a bit flat — more fun in concept than in execution. The chicken sandwich, however, was delicious: crispy, flavorful, and well-balanced. Pricing was fair for New York standards. I’d recommend visiting once if you’re nearby, especially if you’re into food-focused bar menus.

I personally rate the bar on a 5-point scale. I like malt whiskey and cocktails. Please understand that this is only my personal opinion. [Location] 3 It's not far from the station and is along a big road, so it's safe. [Atmosphere] 3 There is a casual space in the front, and a space in the back where you can relax. But I don't think it's that different lol [Malt/Cocktail] 1 malt, 1 cocktail What can I say, is this a bar? The cocktails seemed to be fixed, and there were no malts in particular. There might have been shochu on the other hand. [Service] 3 They poured water well. There was nothing else in particular. [Overall] 2 Honestly, I don't know what it was about this shop that made it to the top of the rankings. I asked someone inside if they had connections with new shops and people who give points. It was full inside, so I lined up in front of the shop and waited. It was raining a lot, so it was tough, but all of that was patience to get into the number one shop in The Best Bar in North America 2023. After waiting for about an hour, we were finally shown in. When I went inside and tried to order my usual Manhattan, I was told I could choose from the menu. When I scanned the QR code, there were a few set cocktails lined up. It seemed like you couldn't order anything else here. I was really looking forward to it... but it seems like the back room also has a similar menu system, which is very disappointing. It may be a fun place to drink with friends, but I felt it wasn't the right place to enjoy cocktails.

The line is usually long at DCP and it's hard to get a reservation so make sure to grab a spot early if you plan on going there. Personally, we prefer the Back Room because some of their signature cocktails there were not offered in the Front Room. For drinks, our favorite has got to be their signature Key Lime Pie and of course we couldn't leave without tasting their chicken sandiwches (crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside). Without a doubt, Double Chicken Please lives up to its reputation.

This place is worth every damn penny & the hype is absolutely true. I’d suggest lining up maybe a half hour before the doors open as there will be a line. There’s a bouncer who will verify your I.d then pass you off to a hostess who will ask you preference for back or front room. Twas explained to me that the back room had MORE “fancy” cocktails. The very 1st drink I ordered “butter raisin biscuit” was outstanding. The theme behind most cocktails is food in which the cocktails resemble the flavors of said food. My 2nd cocktail was the “Waldorf salad” & it was single handedly the most refreshing cocktail I’ve ever had in my life. The chicken sandwich was good, on par with some of the best I’ve had however it wasn’t as mind boggling as the cocktails. Now on to dessert. Simultaneously one of the weirdest & best things I’ve had. Twas the “le Big Mac” macaroon & the flavored was exactly that. Outstanding place & product. I highly recommend you indulge.

Reserve the coop. At the minute reservations go online (6daus before at midnight EST) or it’s hours long wait. Some of the most inventive cocktails I’ve had in North America (up there with the Aviary in Chicago but much different). The menu is so unique. The chicken meals are great. In our group of 5, we tried 10 unique drinks and all executed so well. From desert (French toast and key lime pie) to savory (cold pizza, Ny beet salad) to spiritious all were so unique.

Such a cool spot! The cocktails are top-notch. The vibe is laid-back but classy, perfect for a date or just chilling with friends. Bonus: the bartenders really know their stuff.

Bad cocktails - I didn't finish. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt! I ordered 3 different cocktails. The positive reviews are fake. From unbalanced cocktails to many that were overly sweet. I have lost respect for any list that rates them as great.

Brilliant experience! Lovely staff, excellent cocktails, incredible chicken. We had several drinks in the back room, enjoyed some delicious chicken, and had many laughs! Thanks guys!

In the anarchic veins of the Lower East Side, 'Double Chicken Please' emerges as a cathedral of liquid rebellion, an altar where mixological orthodoxy comes to die. This den of creative dissent doesn't just serve you; it spiritually converts you. Your initiation begins in the 'Front Room,' a deceptive antechamber to hedonistic enlightenment. Here, 'cocktail' becomes a laughably impoverished term. You're introduced to the #1, a tempestuous maelstrom where Aperol and passion fruit waltz amidst effervescent whirlwinds of sparkling wine and soda. It doesn't merely splash but detonates defiantly on your palate, an insurgent challenging every preconceived flavor note. Journeying deeper, you encounter the Coop, a sanctified laboratory of libation innovation. Here, conventional mixology is deconstructed, ridiculed, and transcended. The "Key Lime Pie" cocktail is a provocative jest, blurring the sacred lines between sustenance and refreshment, while the "Mango Sticky Rice" concoction materializes as a bold symphony of audaciousness, where Bacardi and mango perform a passionate tango, undercut by the earthy murmurs of pu'er tea and the marine whispers of wakame cold brew. Yet, it's the "Japanese Cold Noodle" that emerges as the heretical zenith. A defiant concoction that scoffs at logic, this blend embarks on a narrative of clandestine pineapple rendezvous, cucumber's crisp banter, coconut's silken soliloquies, and a sesame oil epilogue that lingers on your taste buds, a poignant memory refusing to fade. 'Double Chicken Please' orchestrates not a menu but a revolutionary manifesto in liquid form. It's a relentless maelstrom of gastronomic insurgency against the pedestrian, a challenge clad in the alluring armor of a speakeasy. As you stagger out, every sense tingling in awakened rebellion, you're not just inebriated; you're reborn.

We recently went to celebrate our anniversary and hadn't managed to beat the bots to a Coop reservation so had to queue for the Front Room. We queued for an hour early on a Friday eve and only ended up spending 20 minutes in the place. The bar forgot about us so it took 15 minutes after ordering for us to receive a flavourless and lacklustre tapped cocktail each (which came way after the drinks for people who had arrived after us, might I add). The long-haired guy who we'd assumed was a barback, but may well have been a manager, came to ask if we were happy with our drinks and gave a thumbs up and walked off even after we said we weren't. So much for customer service. We walked out after the biggest waste of time of our New York trip, questioning the bar's accolades and why on earth we'd tipped ahead for service. 1 star, if only for the awesome music.

We went to this bar attracted by the fact that it had been ranked second in the classic best bar of the world 2023. The staff was friendly, the cocktails were certainly special, the prices were high. The drinks in the front room are much better. Waited about 2 hours to access the Coop.
Long wait for a table but it's still great chicken
The space is dark and not very comfortable and if you try to walk in, you can expect a wait time of a few hours but it's all worth it - they have some of the most tasty chicken in town. Great spices and a nice crisp batter. The chicken is tender and the bread used for the sandwich is soft and buttery. The popcorn chicken and hot honey chicken sandwich are the things to order
