We stopped here for breakfast before going to the airport. The portions are generous and the menu very interesting. The spinach scramble was delicious and the pancakes great!. Great place for breakfast!

What a wonderful brunch before heading to the Dior exhibit! The Shrimp and Grits were incredible and the Bloody Mary was prefect. Great place and great selection

I dine here often and love the breakfast especially. Sunday mornings are especially busy and you may end up waiting up to an hour. Tasty, clean, healthy cuisine but wholesome and satisfying. I recommend the bagel and lox.

Our brunch was good but our server forgot our appetizer and when we reminded him he asked if we really wanted it. With the affirmative he still didn't bring it and then on the next reminder he said he would put the order in. Same with a bloody mary. Upon ordering he offered a mimosa and I reaffirmed I wanted a BLoody Mary and never received. HAd to ask for it to be removed from the bill

Rave reviews preceded the opening of a new location of the Dream Cafe on Mockingbird Lane, but I found the food bland and uninspiring. I had a tofu and vegetable plate for lunch (the "Square Meal") and the tahini miso was like water, offering nothing to the already-tasteless food. While the service was quite fine, the food and heavy 80s music rotation (George Michael several times, Janet Jackson) added nothing to the ambiance. The mismatch between reviews and my experience was disappointing.

My daughter spoke highly of this restaurant so I had high expectations. The wait was long and in my opinion not worth it. I was very disappointed with my breakfast when it finally arrived. I had the spinach scrambler and tried the popover. The portions were large and I only ate half. Definitely not worth the wait or price as far as I'm concerned.

I've been eating at the Dream Cafe in Uptown Dallas for 15+ years. It has great food (mostly organic) and 2 sections of outdoor areas along with indoor seating. Great place for a weekend late breakfast. I've had dozens of lunch business meetings here as its centrally located near downtown Dallas. Relaxed environment, friendly service and awesome food. Its kind or an upscale "hole in the wall". Give it a try and I'm sure you'll add it to your list of favorite Dallas restaurants.

Well that is what you can expect if you are sitting in Brittney's section at the Dream Cafe! And, to top it off, the food was excellent as well! We enjoyed breakfast at this little hotspot in Dallas while celebrating my daughters 28th birthday. She really wanted to go to this restaurant because she had heard that the French Toast was really good. She was not disappointed! The French Toast is rolled in granola and it is really good! She also ordered a side of Vege Sausage that we all tasted and could not tell the difference between the Vege and regular sausage. We also ordered their delicious Popovers that were served with Strawberry Butter. The Austin Tacos and Scrambled Ham dish were equally as good. Brittney stole the show with her uncanny ability to know what we needed before we ever asked for it. She was so attentive to our needs that we never wanted for anything! Breakfast was awesome and we will definitely go again!

I go to dream every time I am in Dallas. Its my go to spot for brunch. I didn't really like the Austin Tacos but that's about the only thing off the menu I haven't liked. Again if I could give it 6 stars I would. There is one waiter he is black I can't remember his name but he is always strangely dressed but he is AWESOME.

Good food, popovers not so good. The glorified omelett was missing onions. The scones are amazing! And the waffles are too. Good coffee.

Great menu, pro service, reasonable prices and lovely outdoor seating. A little hard to find but worth the hunt. It gets busy on the weekend -- expect to wait a few minutes for a table.

We had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table. The waiting area was small, but fine. Once we were seated, the seats were lumpy. The music is too loud and it is nearly impossible to hear your companions or waiter. We ordered a farmers omelette with hash browns as the side (couldn't hear the other option) and cloud cakes (with bacon; no idea what the waiter was asking). The omelette came with cheese grits, not the hash browns that were ordered. The cloud cakes came with only a few strawberries, so I had to request more since the whole meal is "ricotta pancakes topped with strawberries and creams fraiche". The food was yummy, but there were the aforementioned mistakes. Overall, the food is good, but the atmosphere is lacking. Being unable to speak with those at your table without shouting "what?" multiple times is frustrating, and not understanding the waiter is equally frustrating.

Anytime I can eat fresh, it's a huge plus for me! That's what we had here: really nice fresh food! My salad wasn't special but it was good. My son had a plate that he also enjoyed!

We came here on Sunday morning for brunch with friends. The kitchen was behind and it took us 45 minutes to get the starters we ordered, one muffin and a popover. When we did receive the popover it was burned, which was so sad because the strawberry butter was delicious. Our main dishes came about 20 minutes later. We ordered a bistro burger, chicken and waffles, the Elvis and the country Benedict. There were a couple of complaints with the food. The Cajun gravy had no taste at all, the hash-browns were soggy on the bottom, and most of the french fries were droopy instead of crispy. The rest of the food was yummy. If the kitchen wasn't so behind I think their hash-browns and fries would have been cooked better and perhaps the popover wouldn't have been burned. The long wait was not worth the food in my opinion, but I would come back here to try the food again if the food service was quicker.

New location on McKinney is bright, modern, and in a new building still finishing construction of interior courtyard. Inside seating is comfortable with wood topped tables. Some of the eclectic artwork and vibe carries over. For those who visited the old location at the Quadrangle, these add nostalgic sentiments; and fortunately the new ample sized bathrooms don’t! There’s outdoor dining street side but the future promises courtyard garden setting. Menu seems the same with many favorites for brunch. Cinnamon snail is light and flavorful. Beignets crisp outside and melt in your mouth inside. We each had an omelette, mine with smoked salmon. Side of perfectly crisp hash browns and cheesy grits. Underground parking is accessed from side or back streets. We’ll be back!

We had breakfast at Dream cafe the two mornings we were able to while we were in Dallas. Being weekdays it was quiet and relaxing. We had good service - being remembered on our second visit. Food was quite good but what is with Strawberry butter? Had plain butter the second time around. "She" had granola and yoghurt and the waiter remembered what we wanted for drinks. Got hot water refills for my tea and we left knowing that we would go back to Dream cafe if we ever get back to Dallas

I loved the lighter options available here. I had their oatmeal with veggie sausage and it was great. Their bloody Marys are flavorful and have just enough punch. It gets crowded quickly, so I'd come early.

I always stopped off at the DC for a breakfast when in Dallas. Their fluffy pancakes were dreamy. Last visit I was a bit disappointed. The food remained good but not great. The service was ok but less attentive than years gone bye. I certainly would return, but it is no longer a don't miss location.

I have eaten here several times when in Dallas, always good, I order an egg white omelet and oatmeal with all the goodies, the popovers are Deelicious. Coffe is always hot.

This was my first time at this location in uptown/downtown. I always get the chicken and waffles because of this finger-licking gravy that comes with it! This time my chicken was over cooked. Lastly a huge fly landed in my water. Our server replaced it. It was clammy and hot that day so water was needed at top priority.

Great brunch spot

After travelling for eight hours, I looked what was near my AirBnB in uptown and this place stood out. The menu on TripAdvisor is out of date. Oh well, still plenty to choose from, just not what I wanted. I ordered a burger, waited half an hour and then got brought out something on toast as they had run out of burger buns. It actually wasn't even toast, the top slice was toasted but the bottom was just a piece of bread (not even that fresh). I would expect in this situation to be told when I ordered, or when it was clear that there were no more burger buns for the burger, what when the food is served. Failing that, I would expect to be offered a dessert or a drink on the house. As it is, I've left The Dream Cafe hungry, not a good achievement for any restaurant. I won't be coming back.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Dallas. Amazing, delicious, decadent food for a decent price. The ingredients are fresh and the you always feel like you're eating something very healthy and good for you. Their vegetable stir fry is one of my favorite things on the menu along with the Austin tacos. Order their sweet waffle potato fries- you won't regret it. Recommend this place to all of my friends and family whenever they want to eat somewhere new. Both the Addison and Uptown locations are nice.

Pretty good breakfast food although tad pricey for portion. Great service and interesting variety on menu. Would return to try Mexican meals they looked amazing

It took a little effort to find, but well worth it. Nice selection of breakfast & lunch items. I had to Routh St Club, and loved it. I tried the Key Lime pie as a finishing touch and it was truly excellent. The outdoor seating area is very pleasant. Servers all were hustling and making sure eveyone was happy. Nice job!

A warm afternoon. Good company and a tasty burger. A good way to finish a conference in Dallas. Really very good staff who looked after us. Everyone was from outside Dallas and they organised taxis for all of us. The owner came over to speak tour group. Made everyone feel at home.

The Dream Cafe reminded me of a small locally owned cafe on the beach in Southern California. Good Food, Good Service, high prices for the ambiance. The server was very helpful The cheese grits were outstanding, light, fluffy and tasty! They achieve the atmosphere I believe they wanted. I felt the prices were a little high, but this is Dallas and I am sure the prices are competitive for the area.

This location is well hidden, tucked back in the Quadrangle. You cannot see it from the street (and signage is really lacking). It's worth the search, though. They have a decent selection for vegetarians, too.

My husband had the wheat pancakes with bacon which he was happy with, and I had the cloudcakes with strawberries and creme fraiche which were delicious. Service was very fast - we told our server we were in a bit of a rush and he was extremely efficient with service and bring the bill etc. Downside - the coffee had bits of black stuff in it... and the outside tables are very wobbly due to uneven ground. Aside from that, we would likely go back! We

Dream Cafe is pretty good. I like their oatmeal. Sometimes their eggs are a little watery tasting. I also cant stand how sometimes they dont open by the time their sign states they do!

Had a great breakfast here last week. Especially liked the pop-over with egg scramble inside. Would go back with hesitation.

I really enjoyed my breakfast (granola french toast), husband not so much (but he's a meat & eggs breakfast kind of guy). The atmosphere is good, outdoor seating area was really nice.

This is a breakfast place. We don't care what they call it, it's a breakfast place but it's a breakfast place that you can have breakfast for dinner! We like those! Try the waffles or one of the egg creations with a mimosa. You'll be glad you did!

We ate ate the Quadrangle Dream Cafe years ago and looked forward to the East Dallas location. We went on a Saturday and one and they had a pretty extensive breakfast menu but very little for lunch. Our "tuna melt" was an open faced tuna salad sandwich and our "chips" were very stale tortilla chips. We were offered nothing else and the waitress (while nice) had a limited knowledge of the menu and the language. We will not be back anytime soon.

Enjoyed a relaxing brunch outside. The smoked salmon, spinach, tomato and herb cheese omelete was very good. Fruit or beans may be substituted for a small fee. Otherwise hash browns or cheese grits came with this dish. If you want to sit inside with air conditioning you will wait. It is a very popular place on a Sunday morning. It has always been a family child friendly place. Unfortunately their expansive green grass lot has been shrunk. Construction of an adjacent development is the reason. To shield diners from the view a large wall of painted plywood has been erected complete with chalk for children and kids at heart to decorate. They still have a playhouse and monkey bars. This however is not a place where children run amok. It is a restful spot with a good vibe and tasty food.Enjoy.

This place has tasty food, but I think it is way overpriced. Their cloud pancakes are good, but not to die-for. I've been a couple time in large groups and although they are always very accommodating, I don't think the price is worth the food.

The food is great and has many healthy options. I love the pop overs with strawberry butter, the dream cakes, and all of their salads. I love that I can go have brunch there in my running clothes with my dog in tow, or that I can dress up a little and have a nice dinner. If the weather is nice, I love to sit outside there, great patio!

Double reason to stop here for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Easy parking and great shopping in every direction. I am speaking of the Dream located in the Quadrangle Shopping Center. Good for friend, family, business. And yes you can go solo if you don't wish to share a great meal at a very reasonable price. The menu will meet anyone's desire.

We visit the Addison location very often and love the laid back "ambience" for a place that offers top notch breakfasts! It is our favorite brunch spot!

Lovely brunch before a visit to the Aquarium. As it was a weekday, we were seated right away. There can be a wait on weekends, though. Our server was attentive and the menu choice plentiful. The food was delicious and the bottomless coffee was much needed!

I can't exactly tell you why I love this place so much. Maybe it is the laid back atmosphere, the patio with play equipment for the kids, the healthy choices on the menu, I'm not really sure. I do love going there, though and when given a choice, I often choose this place. I've been going to the Dallas location for years. Casual and easy-going, kind of 70's retro feel to it. A place where you can take your time and not feel rushed. Serves breakfast all the time. Nothing glamorous and outside chairs are kind of flimsy. Sometimes the service is a little slow. Still one of my favorites.

Visiting from out of town it was good to get to see everyone in our group of 9 for brunch. We came in thru a back entrance to a long table looking out to the counter and the rest of the small restaurant. They had an interesting, varied menu and I went with their famous "Cloud Cakes", fluffy ricotta pancakes with strawberries and powdered sugar. They were good, I know my niece really loved hers and my flat pork sausage was just a little upgrade from McDonalds. I tried a beignet that was just OK and a far cry from Cafe Du Monde's. My wife was OK with her Huevos Rancheros. The Dream Cafe is that classic experience of being between 3/average and 4/very good. If there were ever to be a next time, I would give something else on the menu a try.

We were excited after seeing this menu and left disappointed. The beans served with my hue os rancheros were tough and seemed like they had just been served out of the can. The rice was whole grain which is not to my liking so I will let it slide other than that was not listed on the menu. The actual hue os rancheros were good. The waffles are cooked well done rather than fluffy. The lox and bagel were fine, nothing you can't find at a cheaper place. We did appreciate how kid friendly this place is including the chalk house outside for the kids to graffiti. Better places to eat in town but not a bad option if needed.

9 of us: a 10 year old, 2 teens (1 is a vegetarian), & 6 adults. Delicious and healthy food. Excellent service. Thanks to Glenn for finding me a wine that I liked because they didn't have my "usual". Last night of a 2 week trip, and this was the best restaurant meal we had.

Tucked away in Quadrangle in a residential area in uptown Dallas, we found the Dream cafe packed with other Sunday morning brunches, including many families with kids. The food was nice and came out reasonably quickly.

This truly is our togo place for breakfast. We visit this location atleast 4-5 times a month. We bring our grandkids and other family members here. They are consistent on their dishes. We know exactly what were getting when we order. Robert and his staff take great pride in taking care of the guest. Our waiter bruno who we request all the time does a phenomenal job and we see him taking care of all tables the same way. We probably have tried almost everything on the menu. Hats off to the kitchen they dona great job. I'm in the business and let me tell us the kitchen rarely gets kudos but staff is awesome. Robert hats off to you and your staff. The Moosa's

The little hidden gem has a dedicated gluten free menu that is very extensive. All the food is fresh fixed in house --no food service trucks here! Can get a little bust but worth it. Can't wait for their sister store to open in Lakewood.

Fabulous Brunch Location- Not to mention the Fabulous Food.

This small cafe is nearly hidden in an areas known as The Quadrangle just off Howell Street next to a large apartment complex. Olive the outdoor covered dining. Service is prompt and correct and my egg white florentine omelet was perfect. Also they have the best iced tea here (it seemed to be raspberry flavored). Great for brunch and seems to be a pretty popular spot for lunch with the locals.

good food but expect to wait we where there 20 min before any one even came to the table to get a drink order but good for brunch

the food was very very bad - unless you like limp soggy french fries, burned medium rare steaks flavorless and oddly tasteless food the service was exceptionally bad - unless you didnt really want your drinks, you didnt really have anything else to do that evening except wait for bad food and the questions you asked about the food remaining unanswered....oh yea and then you get to pay a premium price for this ... that is the special bonus.

My wife and I stopped here for a late breakfast on Sunday at about 11a and this place was packed, but we only had to wait about 13 minutes. The coffee was just ok, but the breakfast plates we had were really good and reasonably priced. Overall, this was a good breakfast spot in the uptown Dallas area.

Breakfast lovers paradise...tons of selections (vegan too) and great smoothies. And, those popovers with strawberry butter!

I have been to Dream Cafe several times, both for brunch and lunch. Definitely prefer it as a breakfast/brunch locale, as the atmosphere and food fit better with a brunch setting. The things I typically have ordered have been the Glorified omelette (part of their healthy menu selection). It is a good, basic omelette that doesn't make you feel guilty. If you are looking for something a bitter richer (and much sweeter), highly recommend the Cloud Cakes. I love pancakes in general, but the Cloud Cakes are something different. They are lighter and fluffier than normal, and don't require a ton of syrup as they are also very moist. I order these when I feel I have earned a treat. As far as the atmosphere, they have a great porch area that you can bring dogs to, which is a wonderful place to relax and meet friends. Inside can be a bit noisy but still okay. They are very busy, so make sure to come early (I think they do take reservations but haven't tried).

I dined on at the Dream Cafe on April 28, 2007. It was a lovely night, perfect for dining al fresco. They have a great green area for kids to run around, and while some of the food can be bland, it is a healthy menu with plenty of variety. We dine here frequently for the food and the atmosphere. For all the good points, the service was TERRIBLE. We arrived at 6:05, ordered within 15 minutes, and weren't served until 7:15. The waiter came by ONE time during our wait to ask if we needed drinks. And our orders weren't complicated. Straight off the menu with no special requests for a party of five. It was well after 8:00 when the waiter returned to see if we needed anything else. He finally brought the check, and took so long to come back to the table to retrieve it that I finally went to the bar, asked for the manager, and he ran my credit card. I politely expressed my displeasure to the manager, and he seemed completely uncaring. My family and I eat here regularly, and I wish I could say that this experience was unique, but it wasn't. The service seems to get worse with each visit. Despite it's good points, I won't return. I understand that restaurants and waitstaff can have off nights, and I am willing to give them a second chance. But this was ridiculous. I was dining with a friend new to the area and was hoping to show Dallas off to her, but instead was completely embarassed that I had chosen this restaurant. Between the bad service and utter apathy of management, they have lost my business for good. I was a loyal Dream Cafe customer for nearly 10 years, but the service lately has been so poor, I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. In fact, I would strongly discourage anyone who expressed an interest in dining here!

We stopped by for lunch and wanted something tasty and organic. Low fat lots of veggie and organic. We found options here!

Too many kids!

I have been going to The Dream Cafe for 25 years and it had been maybe 8 years since my last visit - I was very curious to see how this place was withstanding the test of time. It is still in its original and beautiful Quadrangle location. The hosting staff was smiling and welcoming - even on a busy Sunday. Food was great - just as I had remebered.

All the food here is fresh and organic, good for clean eating and diet.... looks like a tucked in romantic spot... have to try it for brunch or happy hour... Good prices....

I went with some family members the other day to the Dream Cafe. We ordered a variety of items -- breakfast and lunch -- and it was very good. BUT --- it took a REALLY long time for our food to come. So long that the waitress supplemented our order with popovers to hold us over until our food came. I must say, the popovers were sensational! Probably my favorite thing that was ordered! So all in all, it was a successful outing!

We recently brought one of our tour groups to Dream Café at the Quadrangle in Dallas’ McKinney Avenue historic district for Dinner following a Broadway Show in the Dallas Arts District. We were really impressed with how well Dream Café has adapted to the increasing upscale revitalization and development of the area. The Quadrangle is in the midst of vintage houses from the early 1900s, some of which have been turned into small business offices, restaurants, interior design studios and art galleries. It is truly a charming area, near to the Dallas Arts District and to the trendy Uptown area. Dream Café back in the 1990s was a favourite place of mine for weekend brunch, and to have a light dinner before attending a play at the adjacent Theatre Three. Restaurant patrons of all ages loved to sit outside on the grassy area on Saturday and Sunday mornings, bringing strollers with small children, their dogs, playing Frisbee, and having great omelets and organic salads, both of which were primarily Mexican cuisine. Now in 2015, the grassy area outside has given way to a multi-level parking structure, but the outside patio is absolutely charming and beautifully landscaped. There is also increased seating inside. Most, notably, the menu has expanded, offering an eclectic cuisine with a variety of choices which are unbelievably reasonably priced and in sizeable portions. All entrée items were well-prepared and beautifully presented. The chocolate dessert – which our group shared -- was “to die for”!! AND, Dream Café still serves breakfast at night, as well as still having a Kids Menu for parents/grandparents accompanied by children. SIDE NOTE: Special “two thumbs up” to the evening manager, Glenn, who was so easy for our group to work with in holding our post-Theatre reservation and in our pre-selecting off the Menu for our tour group, and to our server, Elias, who was very attentive and personable, and who knew exactly where to place the dessert spoon on the table – I was REALLY impressed. He even took the time personally to package the leftovers for those in the group who wanted to take part of their entrée home. We loved becoming re-acquainted with Dream Café and will DEFINITELY be back. CEO, Americana Heritage Tours by Snobby Tours®, Inc.™

Inventive meals

We went to The Dream Cafe for breakfast/brunch. We were having lunch with family pretty soon later that day but couldn't wait to eat, so we found this place (I think in some top 10 breakfasts in Dallas list, or something) knowing that we weren't supposed to eat a whole lot.... oh well! There were so many good menu choices that it made it really hard to decide. We finally ordered a cinnamon snail and breakfast plate to share. The cinnamon snail was DELICIOUS, and WAY better than normal cinnamon rolls because it had a lot of cinnamon - go figure! The breakfast plate we ordered had two eggs, choice of hash browns or grits, toast (with strawberry butter! So good), and the option to add a side of meat. So we got hash browns and added some vegetarian sausage which was actually good. It had a little bit different texture than regular sausage but tasted the same. All of our food was really good and I wish we could've been able to eat more! A lady at the table next to ours ordered pancakes, which also looked amazing. It was a nice day and we were offered a seat on the patio. The waiter was very nice and prompt. Also quirky was how they do their waiting list. Instead of giving you a number or taking your name, they give you an old record sleeve and call the name of the artist when it's your turn! They told us it would be a 20 minute wait for a table but it was actually more like... 30 seconds. Seriously. All in all it was a great little place to eat and we would come here again!

I have been eating at Dream Cafe for years. I no longer live in Dallas but whenever I am in town, this is one of the places on my list of Dallas favorites to hit up. The food and service have been consistently superb through the years. And I LOVE the atmosphere - either sitting outside or in, it has a very organic, natural yet classy atmosphere. Good for casual breakfast or romantic dinner. LOVE it!!!

I have picked up dinner about 7 times, so I feel I have a qualified opinion... Plenty of socially distanced dining space on the covered outside patio (winter-proofed when needed). Lots of parking out front & on side of restaurant. Wonderfully seasoned dishes. Friendly helpful employees. Can't miss place to eat in or pick up takeout in convenient location.

This is our go-to breakfast spot when visiting Dallas. We come back time and again for the popovers, strawberry butter, omelettes and eggs Benedict. Enjoyed the beautiful outside vine covered dining.

So we found this little place through Trip Advisor on our trip in Dallas. We were not disappointed, in fact we were enthralled. The French toast monte cristo was excellent (probably not on my waistline but we were on vacation) and the pancakes with ricotta were also unbelievably fluffy. The tacos were OK but the other items far outweighed that! What a way to change average food to the best it could be! Highly recommend.

We had breakfast here and were impressed by the innovative, fresh and delicious menu choices. The interior is nice and cozy, yet modern and there is a patio which looks like it would be great to sit on in nice weather. Definitely a winner!

We went to the Dream Cafe before going to Theater 3 next door. Decor is very old and in need of a renovation. Waiter was cutesy and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was good and the waiter was attentive. Worth a try when you are in Uptown Dallas.

Typical cafe with the basic breakfast items. It's in a cool little spot and there can be a little wait. If you're in the area it's worth a stop for breakfast or brunch. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. The service isn't great but keep in mind it gets really busy so be patient and enjoy a good meal :)

This place is a little pricier than a diner, but it was worth it. My husband had a huge whole-wheat pancake (the size of a dinner plate) and bacon while I had the Sunny Side Up Special. This special included french toast dredged in granola and topped with cut strawberries, a thick slice of Virginia ham, two slices of crisp bacon, two eggs over-easy, and 4 slices of toast with delicious strawberry butter (you should definitely try it). My favorite part of the meal was the super thick and creamy mango smoothie topped with a slice of orange and a strawberry. Dream Cafe featured a extensive menu with plenty of healthy options. It was hard to decide what to order! (Their menu is available online if you liked to see for yourself.) While the location was a little tricky to find (it's hidden in the back of a shopping center and be sure to type "Dallas" into your GPS and not "Addison"), we were seated and served right away, even for a busy Sunday morning. I'd love to go back to try some more!

The Dream Cafe offers a well-rounded menu for breakfast. Our meals were to our order and the food was good. I don't know that it was outstanding, but it was tasty.

We've been going to the Dream Cafe for weekend breakfast and lunch for years. It's great. Lots of shaded outdoor seating, and space for children to play in sight. Excellent breakfasts; don't miss the house popovers. Delicious salads, sandwiches, and tacos.

Went with my wife and daughter, who lives in Dallas. Had a hard time finding the place. It is buried in a large shopping/restaurant location. We had reservations, and they were honored immediately. We went for Sunday brunch. We loved the food, and the service was very good. Would recommend this place to all.

I have been coming here for years and love the food. The service is usually slow, so don't come if you are in a hurry. I've never had a bad wine here and they have bottle specials on certain nights. The best draw is that there is a small play ground for my son that he brings his trucks to and he also will eat a healthy meal. We sit under a garden patio outside near the play ground and some nights there's live music. There are many vegetarian menu items too.

I can only review the service - as we never received any food. Daughter and I headed in for dinner. It was early so there were only one or two other tables with diners; the rest of the restaurant was empty. We were shown to our table, given menus and told wine was on special. And that was it...for 20 minutes. No water, no napkins, no silverware, no waiter, nothing. We did see our waiter. He was outside talking to a friend and petting her dog. If we could have caught someone's eye we might have mentioned that we were ready to order. Alas, no luck. All that downtime gave us a chance to really look around. They certainly don't spend their free time cleaning. Finally stood up to leave. Walked past our waiter - who never said a word to us. Strange and disappointing visit. Used to be a favorite brunch spot. But not going back.

Great FRESH FOOD, all local or close to. They have half priced Tuesdays too! Great variety! And they have veggie entrees too.

We stopped here for breakfast baised on a Google search for vegetarian friendly. Big mistake. Only one tofu breakfast dish on the menu. Soggy watery tofu mashed up in salsa with an indignant slice of generic cheese thrown on top. The most unimaginative, careless dish I've seen to come out of a restaurant kitchen in a long time.

My husband and I ate at the Dream Cafe before seeing a play at the MAC at 7pm. We were there around 6pm. There were some others eating, but it wasn't packed. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive. We waited a while for our food, but, when it came, it was fresh and wonderful. I ordered the cloud cakes (two incredibly large, moist, and fluffy ricotta pancakes with syrup, butter, strawberries, and creme fraiche). They were quite tasty and very filling, but a little steep at $9.99. (I guess that's pretty reasonable for the area we were located though.) My husband ordered (and devoured) the Mystic Pasta - blend of grilled chicken, brie cheese, caramelized onions, and bacon with farfalle pasta in a garlic white wine cream sauce. He commented on how wonderfully tasty it was and how he was impressed by how much meat there was in the pasta between the chicken and the bacon. We both left happy and full.

This was several blocks east of the hotel I was in, the Stoneleigh. I was looking for a higher quality but fast breakfast. Based on reviews I headed toward the Dream Cafe. The only issue I had was that being from out of town, I had a hard time finding it. It sits at the back of a small mixed use development. That being said, glad I found it because my "2x3" breakfast of 2 eggs and 3 whole wheat buttermilk pancakes with Vermont Maple Syrup was done to perfection. The service was relatively fast for a high quality diner. I would recommend and I would go back next time I'm in town.

This reminds me of the old hippie days. The food is organic, but it is just not something that I liked the taste of. Everything has a strange taste to me.

I thought the food was okay. Maybe a litlte over-priced for breakfast, but there are some reasonable things on the menu. The patio was nice (when it was still cool outside). Our waitress was great!! Definitely the highlight of the meal.

Love the breakfast and lunch menu here - lots of vegetarian options, and the patio is a relaxing place to eat on a sunny day! There's even a play area for kids, so lots of moms meet up here.

Took the family out for mother's day brunch. I'd like to tell you they were busy, but we were seated immediately. So... No excuses for the service or HOUR AND A HALF delay. Tables came and went, but they couldn't seem to find our order. Line of the day was "5 minutes and it'll be here". Manager/owner came by and made jokes instead of apologies...and offered a post breakfast glass of wine. Thanks but how about a discount... Sadly, this place was once a great dining experience. Never again.

I love everything about this place. The staff was on point not a long wait they so friendly . We was out of town for the holiday weekend I seen this place on google an try it out. My drinks an food was on points will be back again.

I must say that it has been a while since I have gone here. The last time I went here was with a few people from the office (maybe 6 people). After waiting 20 minutes for a table (this was at lunch), we waited another 15 minutes before we were given menus. However, the menus only provided us with false hopes of actually being served. After another 20 minutes without having someone at least take our drink orders, we decided to leave and find somewhere else.

Always crowded with the waitstaff typically seeming overwhelmed. The food is good, not great; although I highly recommend any rendition they do of black beans. Bottomless Mimosa's for brunch on Sundays.

My family and I came to this restaurant based on some recommendations from our friends. We live in the suburbs (Grand Prairie) so don't get the chance to try restaurants in Dallas very often. The atmosphere is "hipster" I would say and it's a nice place to go for breakfast/coffee. They serve a variety of foods here so you definitely have many options. I ordered some Austin Street Tacos on my first visit and the migas on my second visit. Both plates were just okay and definitely not worth the drive from Grand Prairie. I've yet to try their breakfast (which does look good) but I don't think we'll make it back again. Each time we've been there the staff has been friendly and the service about what you would expect from any restaurant, however the food is just sub-par for us.

Try migas! Eggs with black beans, rice, tortilla strips, salsa, gauc, and sour cream. So good. I don't normally order eggs but these were the best eggs I have ever had. Good coffee. We came at a very busy time so service was ok but the couple we were with said it was the worst they have ever had, it is usually very good. They have a nice outside seating area but it filled pretty quickly on the weekends.

I love this place. I have had business in the area and so I have been here a few times. If not, probably would give a 4 this time. Service wasn't as attentive as in the past. But, it's a great place. Good menu. I had the burger on the brunch menu and it was amazing!

Great service/attention from Nick; delicious crab cakes and popovers nice time with a good friend gave you choices of mimosa by the glass, carafe, or a pitcher

My dining companion and I ate at Dream Cafe on a Saturday afternoon after exploring downtown Dallas. I ordered the Strap Hanger with bacon, eggs, wheat toast and hashbrowns. My companion ordered the Huevos Rancheros with a tortilla, a fried egg, black beans and rice with pico de gallo. My bacon was overcooked, and two eggs turned out to be four. The toast didn't look toasted at all. It was hard, like stale bread. My companion didn't like how his meal was prepared, as he has eaten authentic Huevos Rancheros. He didn't like the fried egg on top of the tortilla, and the black beans and rice didn't complement the tortilla and egg. The water was served in small, cafeteria plastic cups that I remember as a child. Why not serve adults water in larger cups? The water wasn't chilled either. The food wasn't anything to write home about, however, the waitress who served us was friendly and attentive to our needs. The ambiance had an eclectic vibe, but it didn't make up for the bland food.

went for lunch. nice looking place & great looking menu but everything looked and tasted pre-processed. fozen fries, frozen dumplings, absolutly flavorless ceasar salad with flavorless un-seasoned chicken. the dressing was watered-down and had no anchovie flavor (or any flavor for that matter) and was topped with un-seasoned crutons. i love ceasar salads and this was the worst one i've had in dallas by far. other item we had, the club sandwich was ok. the turkey wasn't cooked in-house making it bland as well. service was as everyone else mentioned-below average. very disappointed but i see they have several good reviews so we must have ordered the wrong items???.

Good food - laid-back restaurant -- but the wait-staff could use an attitude adjustment !

The cloud cakes were excellent and my aunt loved her whole wheat buttermilk pancakes. The staff were friendly as well.

We had dinner here prior to Dallas Symphony. The location is convenient to Arts District. Comfortable, unpretentious, with a varied, interesting menu, reasonably priced. I appreciated the number of vegetarian options. We each ordered salads, which were generously sized, and a main dish. The food was nicely favored, with good quality ingredients. Service was attentive. As ever, my ratings weigh "value" heavily. Total bill, including 4 glasses of of wine was $100 for three of us. We could have gotten by for less, but I felt this was a fair price.

Did you ever just want veggies and rice? with maybe some salmon or chicken and shrimp? This place has that and much more. The veggies were grilled, the salmon flavorful and the meal was EXACTLY what I wanted and needed. They have drink specials for those who like to drink, as well....VERY nice place!

Service is great, and atmosphere is all around good. When at brunch, I like the British Steak and Eggs. This time around, I ordered the Ode to Roscoe's Chicken Waffle. I've always had a good experience here. When at dinner, their bacon cheeseburger on their wheat bun is good.

Mother's day breakfast with my friend. We sat under the vines and a wonderful cappuccino and Mo-mosa! The food was elegant and the service was very nice. It is for families and I didn't realize beforehand that it is advertised as a place to bring your kids. It made sense afterward that there were toddlers there. The equipment is old school, metal just like when I was a kid. New equipment might be safer for the babies but other than that, nice experience before the crowds hit.

Great granola crusted French toast, oatmeal, sausage, etc. An awesome reasonably priced brunch spot! I highly recommend!

Good food done in a non-traditional way. Every dish is deliscious, even the vegetables that are not usually served in other restaurants. And this is from a basically meat and potatoes guy. The ambiance is delightfully bohemian.

The crusted French toast are delicious! Must go for breakfast. Small place, friendly staff

My absolute fave place in Dallas, I know longer live there but go every time I'm back. No shame when I say I've tried literally everything on the menu. The Monte Cristo is my absolute fave, honestly for the best I don't live close anymore because I could not. stop. eating it. Service is awesome, food is AMAZING and the menu variety really has something for everyone. I've seen lots of reviews about long waits...on Sunday...for brunch. I mean come on y'all, good things take time. And now they have the check in thing on yelp so you can wait while you get ready. Truly the most amazing place, can't wait for the next time I go back!

Used to be my favorite brunch place. Service is now horrible. Food takes forever. Menu has not changed in years. Portions are smaller. Outdoor tables are good but now there are pigeons. Certainly disappointed by the decline. Must be poor management.

I come here every time I am in the DFW for work. The breakfast is phenomenal as is the staff. The champagne jars and chicken/waffles are both to die for. Whenever you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop in!!!

I really enjoyed my food here at Dream. It has a beautiful patio, and they had the heaters going which I appreciated. Our server was very friendly and I like the whole atmosphere. I like how they have veggie meats on the menu for breakfast. You don't see that a lot at restaurants, and I really appreciated it.

This is a fun weekend brunch place, with good people watching, and interesting breakfast fare.

My husband and I recently visited a friend in the DFW area. We were looking for a Sunday brunch spot on our way to Dealey Plaza. We tend to prefer non-chain dining establishments. I read Trip Advisor reviews and we tried it out. Great decision! Great service. Our server recommended that we add an egg over medium to our monte cristos and he was RIGHT ON! Mimosa was great. Bloody Mary was fair. Music was great (think Frank Sinatra). Overall we were so glad we found this gem! Of note, it's in a restaurant complex and the furthest down the row.

I really wanted to like this place since it's a pretty cool layout and style when you walk in and get an old LP that identifies your place in the line. However, this becomes less cool once you realize that despite at least 10 empty tables, you are made to wait for 45 minutes... Once at the table, both me and my friend were pretty dismayed at the dirty plastic shades for the outdoor seating area and the dirty napkins wrapped around the cutlery. The plastic glasses has been washed and used so many times they look permanently dirty. When the food came out, it became evident that this restaurant doesn't pay much attention to cleanliness. Both of our plates were dirty! Gross. The food was also glazed in fat and the tiny little toast triangles looked and tasted like sawdust. With so many good brunch options in Dallas, I'd recommend go somewhere else!

Poor service, unavailable menu items, poor quality. Dream cafe was more of a moghtmare?. We will never return!

A friend and I had lunch here, no children in tow, though there were plenty at the restaurant, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Their menu is fresh and although has plenty of options for you to be decadent in a good way, there were plenty to keep it light. Their carrot/apple juice is delicious and they don't give you a skinny bitty glass as you get in some places. The atmosphere was casual and they have seating outside. Staff were friendly. They were pretty busy on a Saturday morning but I didn't feel rushed to move along and get someone seated and I really appreciate that. The shopping is great around there if you want to hang in that area longer.

I've visited this location several times over the last few years. I really enjoy returning whenever I'm in town. Breakfast/brunch is the only time I have visited. This visit I tried the granola crusted French toast for the first time. It won't be the last! Yummy. The servers do a good job and will help you customize your order to meet your needs.

Only good thing I noticed “clean” and my service was good. It stops there. I went in for breakfast and ordered farmer’s omelette, sliced tomatoes and a cup of coffee. Omelette was under cooked, tomatoes we’re almost green with the core not even cut off.

OMG their dream mimosa is a) huge and b) delicious. Love the orange juice/strawberry ice cubes they provide to make it as strong (or not) as you like. Service was super friendly, and it's located conveniently between SMU and downtown. I had the granola crusted french toast, which was good, but the granola was a little overdone/burnt in spots. The kids ordered a delicious mango smoothie and the eggs benedict was delicious. Husband ordered the meat overload "Elvis" and he loved it. Just a really great, laid back place to grab breakfast or brunch. We'll be back.

We were the only ones in the cafe at 345pm. Had to catch a flight and leave by 5pm. Didn't think the service was going to be slow since no one else was there. Took over a half an hour to get our food which ended up being decent. Front entry looks run down especially patio area. Bathrooms didn't seem super clean. Will probably not return.

I love this place. You can always be sure that the food you receive will be the freshest in town. My son introduced me to this place and I am so glad he did. Try the breakfast. Make sure to also try a popover with their signature strawberry butter. It is very laid back and you can dine inside or on the patio, where dogs are welcome. Be prepared if you are going on Sunday for a bit of a wait.

First, it was difficult to find. After walking around the outdoor mall for a five minutes, with poor signage, we found our brunch site opposite of where Google Maps took us. As soon as we arrived we waited for the host. When he finally came, he seemed like we had inconvenienced him. Once seated, we asked another waiter (the manager?) a simple question and got the same “Why are you bothering me” rudeness. Yikes. So, we asked one another, “Perhaps someone just died? Or they just found out that they are closing?” It was like walking into a someone else’s Thanksgiving dinner and sensing the kids just found out the parents were divorcing. So bad, that we almost asked them what was wrong so we could be more sympathetic, but we didn’t want to be confrontational. Shocked this site had given them a Certificate of Excellence a few years back which was the only reason we went to begin as visitors to southern friendly Dallas. This the reason I came back to give a review. The food was good, not great. The 20 something waiter was the only one who was nice but even he seemed nervous. Did something terrible happen today or is this Dream Cafe all the time? Maybe other reviewers can help us out. Truly something was off today. Way off. Hoping they make a turnaround because at one time Dream Cafe was excellent.

I found the service to be lacking and the food to be not the best. The coffee tasted like a hot chocolate, not much taste at all. I think there would be better places for breakfast.

We first reviewed DREAM CAFE back on May 20, 2015, after having taken one of our tour groups there on Saturday, May 9, 2015 for an early dinner following an afternoon matinee performance at the Winspear Opera House. In that review May 20th review on Trip Advisor, we gave the restaurant, its Manager Glenn, its Chef and its waitstaff excellent marks and a very favourable review. However, our most recent visit for an early dinner with another of our tour groups following a theatre matinee performance on Saturday, October 3, 2015, was NOT pleasant and very disappointing, except for the food. The same manager, Glenn, this time was short-tempered, abrupt, snippy and downright rude, especially to me. In short, he acted as though he couldn’t be bothered, even though it was still very early in the evening and the restaurant was not busy, with many tables empty both inside the restaurant and on the patio. Additionally, the waiter simply could not do his job. He took our beverage order – one of which was for a 9-year old child – and after 20-minutes had elapsed without our having even a glass of water, I went inside to get the waiter to tell him to bring out the beverages. Further, no bread and butter were put on the table while we were waiting for our order. When I asked the manager, he told us we should have ASKED for it. We don’t agree. We should not have needed to ask. Back in May, both hot bread and butter were placed on our table by our waiter withOUT our having to ask for it, when our group had dined at Dream Café on May 9th. On our recent visit on October 3rd, the waiter also had difficulty getting each person’s order straight, and NEVER understood that we wanted separate checks for 3 people and the rest of the group on one check. We told him THREE times that we wanted separate checks for 3 persons who were paying separately from the rest of the group. Instead the waiter gave us a “running total”, on ONE check with a grand total. When I discussed this with the manager, he was short, snippy and angry about making the correction. If this is the way the manager Glenn treats customers and trains his waitstaff, it’s no wonder most of the tables inside and outside of the restaurant were empty by the time we left at 7:15 p.m. Only the food served was superb; however, we may NEVER come back with our tour groups to Dream Café, given how badly we were treated by the manager Glenn and the incompetent waiter on October 3rd. The ricotta pancakes for breakfast...I know this sounds lame, but they were SO light and fluffy.

I had the Scrambler --a popover filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, and ham--very delicious. The strawberry butter was a uniquely good taste. It would have been a 5, but my side fruit looked a little tired. It was busy but parking was a available--a real plus! My daughter loves the biscuits and gravy. I would eat here again!

Dream cafe appears a little odd at first. We came on a Sunday morning and despite the being loads of free tables both inside and outside, there was a 30mins wait. We were not sure if this was innocent disorganisation of cynical buzz-generation by creating a queue outside. Also we were under the impression that this was a health food cafe but with the exception of a couple of healthy items... The menu is still pretty calorie heavy. Anyway. Once at our table we had friendly service which was also very efficient, good coffee and juice and great eggs benedict. Prices were reasonable at around $10 per plate and although a little chaotically run, we liked dream cafe.

I like this place, but I agree that in general, the service isn't the greatest.

Wonderful breakfast and great coffee. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Hope to have the opportunity to come again sometime. Coming from Indiana.

Dream Cafe is a staple in the Dallas diet. You'll find plenty of people to line up and rave about it. It's a little too self consciously healthy and casual for my taste, but I'm into Tex-Mex and beef, so I don't think I'm their target audience. Kids love it for the playground. You should probably give it a try, because it is well beloved, but not by me.

Terrible service and very average/bad food, great outdoor patio

We went here for breakfast. It was rated highly in D Magazine for omnivores and vegans. They only had a couple of items for vegans, but the tofu scramble was very good. They ran out of soy cheese for the scramble, which was strange since we were there at 10am. I can't imagine they had much of a run on soy cheese that morning to run out of it. Regardless, we enjoyed our breakfast. The juices were very good, as was the coffee. Chelsey was a very good server. We liked that locals were able to bring their dogs here in the patio area. Any restaurant that accommodates the four legged kids are ok in our book.

The popovers are amazing. You must order these. All other food was delicious. Everyone ordered a version of eggs Benedict service was excellent. Highly recommend

The ambience, food and staff were all great. I was in Dallas for a professional conference and we were delighted to get away from the masses and enjoy a quiet, pleasant meal. We even had a visit from the owner and founder, Mary.

Our toddler is only happy in restaurants with jungle gyms and play areas. So we have seen the inside of every McDonald's, Chick Fil A, etc., in the area. That's why I was so intrigued by Dream Cafe. It promised a fine dining experience with a place for him to play. We made a special trip to Routh Street from Arlington, and we were not disappointed. I was prepared, from having read some other reviews, for the service to be a little slow. Nothing could be further from the truth. The food was delicious, the play area was lovely, and the service was swift and attentive. It's better to sit outside if you bring small children-- they can play. Inside has that 20-something restaurant noise-- loud music, tile floors. It was such a refreshing break from our usual restaurant experience. We will return and in the meanwhile recommend Dream Cafe to others.

We've been here multiple times and have never tried their lunch because Dream Cafe's breakfast is AMAZING! Pancakes, bacon, the Sky Waffles, orange juice and coffee was all sex in your mouth. I would recommend this place also because their staff Is adorable and friendly. They are also vegan friendly which is a bonus. Highly recommend this place! I want to live here and be fat and happy.

We met friend from Texas here, because it was advertised on Google Maps as "relaxed eatery with health-minded American fare, live jazz..." I have since seen some mixed reviews on Google, but our experience was terrific. Our wait staff had a lot of character and we all really liked what we ordered. Th calamari appetizer was very fresh and tender. I ordered a steak frites with bernaise plate and while there was a bit of grizzle in the steak, the bernaise sauce had my wife pleading for the recipe. The live music was a little odd (and oboe? and a keyboard) but the musicians were obviously very talented. They were out of our view, so I don't think we appreciated them as much as we could have.

Yuk yuk yuk! So grossed out and disappointed. 1) we asked for HOT tea and it was warm at best. They keep their hot Water sitting on the coffee heating element and so their water is Luke warm. 2). Our waiter got our Oder incorrectly for two of the folks on the table, so two people had their food the other two waited 20 min for their semi correct food to arrive. When their food arrived there was bacon on their plate and they had specifically had asked for veggie sausage and NO bacon, so instead of taking the plate to the kitchen our waiter just riches out her hand and grabbed the bacon out of their plate right in front of us then said I will be right back with your veggie sausage. Do I need to say more? Gross!!

I came to eat brunch here on the recommendation of the brother of the owner whom I met while working at a summer camp in NW Michigan when they were dropping their child off! Being a Dallas local, he immediately gave me their name and said to come in hungry. I had “The Elvis” and it was DELICIOUS. The hash browns were some of the crispiest I have ever had before, and everything was just so full of flavor! If you need a new brunch spot, THIS is the place!

Great brunch. Sat outside under a tent while it rained- cozy Saturday morning setting. Loved the vegetarian eggs Benedict.

Four of us celebrated a friend's birthday at the Dream Cafe. The food took quite a long time to come out of the kitchen, but once it did the food was very good. One friend had the Scottish Salmon and said it was one of the best salmon dishes she had ever had. My dish, "The Global Dinner" was not that great, but it was not horrible either. I will say it is something that I won't be ordering again. I should have gone with the salmon. The other two friends split an entree and they both liked theirs. It was one of the beef dishes. During dessert, the manager treated us to a special surprise of a glass of wine for us to toast the "Birthday Girl" with. The dessert was excellent. On certain nights of the week wines from different countries are half off. This is a great deal on some great wines. Overall, I would go back, but I would order something other than the "Global Dinner."

Great place for brunch if you looking for something different and healthy. It does get pretty crowded though (the tables are a little too close together) and the service definitely leaves something to be desired, but the food is fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

My husband and I walked here from our hotel and were blown off our feet by the food. The Lamb burger was to die for as well as the omelet with Brie and ham.... We will definitely be back maybe even tomorrow! Bananas foster desert was to die for as well!

This restaurant has been a go-to for myself and my friends for many years if we want something simple in a quiet atmosphere where we don't have to wait for a table. The food is uncomplicated and tastes like regular home cooking. Their cloud cakes are my favorite!

The Dream Cafe is not on Routh Street, it's just off Routh Street on Laclede. It's in a shopping spot called the Quadrangle. There are numerous apartment buildings nearby and if I lived there, I'd eat breakfast here every day. I came the first time by myself, on the advice of the concierge. I had an eggs benedict dish, with spinach and artichoke. very good. The second time, my wife and i shared two dishes - first a crab cake eggs benedict dish, with plentiful lump crabmeat (very good) followed by cloud cakes. the cloud cakes are made with ricotta cheese and were covered with strawberries (and maple syrup). Since my wife makes the best ricotta pancakes ever, i can not truthfully say this were the best ricotta pancakes. But they were good and filling. The service here is outstanding. the waiters are very quick to serve you but do not hover. The Dream Cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. There's even a doggie pound if you bring your dog. And there's ample room outside for kids. We ate on a Sunday morning and there were many kids about. Both times my seating was inside and the acoustics were good. The waitstaff is young and laid back. Dream Cafe is a good spot to try and i tried it twice.

My colleagues and I met at The Dream Café for a casual business breakfast. Our food was good and the service was friendly. Our total bill for four was $52.

I used to like this place but hesitated to go unless I had time for a long meal because the service was a little too relaxed. OK, it was like the waitstaff was a little sleepy. But now that has changed. The service is much better now and the food remains great. Prices are reasonable but not cheap. Depending on when you go - parking can be a challenge at lunch time. The place has a nice vibe and during spring and fall the outdoor patio is very pleasant.

I enjoyed my food and drinks. I've been a couple times in the past year and was pleased each time. The a la cartes are a little pricy though.

Fresh and delicious and substantial. Just don't go there too often - you will be tempted to - or else you'll get sick of it!

I had a bit trouble finding this place (although it is addressed off of Routh, the restaurant is accessed off of Laclede which is directly behind Routh). Once my friends and I found it, we were seated without delay, and our waiter took our drink orders quickly. The three of us split the hummus, which came with a generous helping of pita chips and a lot of hummus. I ordered the scallops with risotto which was excellently prepared. The two large scallops were perfectly seared and the risotto was creamy as can be and was mixed with tomatoes and shitake mushrooms. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience. I will return, but next time I will try the breakfast.

Best scones in DFW area. And my kind of coffee...the kind you can stand your knife up in. Casual. Attracts all kinds of clientele so good for people watching.

We were staying in downtown Dallas at the Fairmont and wanted to find somewhere on Saturday evening with good fish and vegetarian food in a city geared to steak eaters. Hopped on the trolley ,then a short walk down Routh street to find this cafe/small restaurant tucked away in the quadrangle mall beside a theater, thus very busy prior to the performance but emptied out before 8:0opm. Very casual and relaxed and food was excellent with plentiful portions for price. We had tomato soup and 2 different types salmon.Returned for brunch, again very busy but only short wait to be seated, lots of choice, good coffee, wait staff attentive despite being busy. Overall very good value.

Excellent food and generous portions. Issue with getting seated . Uneven service. Air conditioning was not very cool.

If there is room, you’ll find yourself sitting in the sun underneath the threes enjoying your food and drinks. Birds chirping will be your soundtrack. Pleasant surprise.

We worked with Jamie to plan catering for a business breakfast. He came up with a beautiful array of fruit kabobs, scones, and other yummy breakfast breads -- exactly what we needed! He worked with us to stay within our budget, too, going the extra mile to prepare something lovely without extravagant expense. Well done!

First come, first serve. Patrons with their dogs can eat outside. Very good breakfast w/twists. Health drinks, a delectable Danish. Ample eggs and hash browns, waffles, and good coffee.

A delightful small oasis in midst of high rises and on a green lawn and with a large outdoor patio area. Food an interesting mix of home cooking and vegetarian.

Wow. Bad service! Dirty and run down! I would never go again and would not recommend to anyone. I have been to the Dream Cafe in Addison and like this location. However, the quadrangle location is horrible. The place is in bad need of a cleaning and very run down. I was there for brunch and the entire women's restroom was out of order. My coffee drink took forever to arrive. Our food arrived and we had no silverware. We asked several times. Finally, I went to the bar to ask for our own silverware and jelly while our food got cold. This place needs to close for a while to clean up the place and train the staff. No one even apologized for the horrible service. The food was not as well presented as the Addison location. The place seemed very dirty.

Though the staff probably would want this, I could linger at this restaurant for hours. It's in a walkable location from most uptown hotels, great food/service, and a breezy porch location. On a nice day, it's hard to beat sitting on their patio and lingering for hours.

We really enjoyed the food here, but it was work getting it. My sister arrived 1st, and once I got there, we had to stop someone and ask to get my drink. Then we had to stop someone and ask to order. They brought my scallops, but not her dinner - & no one seemed to notice. We had to stop someone and ask them to check on her dinner. The manager then came by and asked how everything was and when we told him the troubles we were having, his remark was "But everything's okay now?" Sheesh. Then we had to stop someone to get our check. And it was never the same person we stopped - we had to settle for whoever was walking by. I don't know what kind of party the staff attended before coming to work, but they were all indeed a little dreamy - and totally clueless!
Great brunch spot
Stopped in on a blazing hot Dallas morning, but found even outdoor temp comfortable with their shade structures and fans. Food is always good-interesting takes on classics plus some organic choices mixed in. Everybody in our party left happy!
