Really good food served in a really great setting in SOHO. BUT, what’s up with the service? Dirty dishes set on the table even after we asked it to be cleared. Our waiter (delivering food from behind counter) snidely remarked, “what do you want me to do, stand here and hold these or set them down?” I wouldn’t say service “ruined” the evening. I’d say it cost you an excellent rating!

The best Lobster Roll I've ever had. Better than anyyhing offered in Maine, New England and The Hamptons. First tried this when they had a stall in an indoor market at the meat packing district. They weren't there when we returned the following year but managed to track them down. I'm glad we did.

My uncles raved about this place during my whole stay so one night we finally went here! Man it was worth the wait!! We got here late (10) and we didn't have to wait long. My uncle's knew all the workers and all the workers were very friendly. We ordered our food and they made sure our wine continued to be full. When whatever we ordered was out of stock they were very apologetic and nice. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, even tho I don't like lobster, and it was AMAZING. I definitely would try everything if you can! It is all very delicious! The chocolate lobsters at the end are yum too. I was very impressed with everything. Definitely worth the wait and the price.

I just randomly found this restaurant after some shopping at Soho, the lobster roll is just great... different from what i have tried in Hong Kong and Japan.. and i would like to highlight the chips.... i definitely miss it ..... must go restaurant when i back to NYC next time

Everything at superlative, excellent food and serving. The ambience is pleasant and the place has a special air. Surely we will come back with pleasure to this restaurant!

There seems to be some confusion of where this is, with one listing showing 222 Lafayette and another 155 Grand. Both look identical in logo from photos, so maybe it was a change in location? We went to 155 grand and enjoyed oysters and champagne in a chilled out environment with exceptionally helpful and friendly service assistants to help us make the most of our time at Ed’s. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a friendly vibe and delicious food.

On Mr. Flays recommendation my wife and I had lunch at this place and while my wife loved her lobster roll she also mentioned that she had much more roll than lobster. I had 2 fish tacos and salad for $20 and if you follow my reviews you’ll note that Los tacos #1 sold us 4 tacos for less than $16 and they were large and oh so tasty. I can’t get over how expensive meals and alcohol are in NYC. The food is one thing but alcohol is so overpriced also. I come from B.C. in Canada and our olcohol is infamous for the taxes our government puts on that product. P.S. our meal with 1 drink each and dessert came to over $100.

Had the crab and artichoke dip and lobster roll. It was all delicious!! No wait, friendly staff and service.

The seafood here is amazing! The dip and the lobster roll are really good, as well as the fish and chips! But, like most things in New York, it’s very expensive. Probably roughly $10 more than other seafood places. But the location and the type of food probably lends itself that way. The cocktails are even amazing! Highly recommend, but be prepared to shell out for the shell.

Once again this cracking little restaurant served a great meal with excellent service. We have been here before and are still not disappointed with the whole deal. A great atmosphere and food at reasonable prices for New York. Well worth a visit for something a little different, try the Lobster Roll it is a wonderful meal. Thank you, a great team.

Food is delicious and the wait staff is nice enough... The space, however, is extremely cramped and the furniture is falling apart. Our table legs were uneven and it made the eating uncomfotable. I told our waiter twice and she tried her best to fix the issue, but the table needed changing. I may go back and sit at the bar the next time. The lobster roll and clam chowder are really good.

It is the second year in a row I come to Ed’s Lobster to full satisfaction. The location is fantastic to make a stop in a shopping day. Food is very fresh and very tasty. The waiters are great and the price very reasonable. It is a relatively small place but very cosy. You can eat at the bar or at a table in the back. Ideal for two max. four pax. Oysters are wonderful and really fresh, the lobster bisque fantastic and so are the chowders. Have not tried the sandwiches but they must be very good as many people tried them. The pasta depends on the recipe. Will keep coming back for sure.

I'm appalled to read some recent positive reviews of this place. I don't usually criticize restaurants because I respect the work of others, nor do I consider myself a food critic, but how can you speak in a positive light about a place which, from what I have seen this evening, I could even define as "shameful" …? And this despite the great swing in prices and quality typical of New York. A totally liquid Clam Chowder and not as creamy as it should be; a Lobster Salad which was a shapeless mountain of salad with a small piece of boiled lobster, tasteless and with the consistency of plastic, all "seasoned" with a quantity of vinegar that made the dish almost inedible (so much so that I left more than half of it) and with the young lady at the tables who looked at me crossly and incredulously when I asked her to please also have some other type of dressing; half a sandwich requested at the beginning and arrived at the end when it was now useless saying that in the kitchen they had had to ... heat it (😳); a place with peeling walls, electrical wires dangling towards unlikely electric heaters, pieces of paper under the legs of the tables to keep them from wobbling, all for the modest sum of around 160 USD for 2 with two bottles of water and a glass of wine… But how can you say that it is a place to go and eat good fish at acceptable prices…?? Unless we are talking about two different places...: I went there because a few years ago I had been to a nice little restaurant in that area called Ed's Lobster Bar and where you could eat well even at the counter or in a small and charming room: I was convinced I would return to the same place but, evidently, either the "name" has been sold to someone else or there is a (I think unlikely) homonymy. Absolutely avoid (see photo)

Came in late at night right before the kitchen closed. but they were still more than happy to serve us. We got a whole lobster and a lobster roll. The lobster was okay. Nothing special. The lobster roll was better. Service was good.

Ed's Lobster Bar is a seafood restaurant in New York's SoHo neighborhood that opened its doors on March 16, 2007 as a dream come true for its chef and owner, Ed McFarland, who had always wanted to create exceptional seafood dishes. The restaurant got off to an unexpected start when, on its first day, there was a line down the street during a hail storm. Despite the weather, people were eager to try the dishes of Ed's Lobster Bar, and the restaurant quickly became popular among locals and tourists and even today its fame lives up to expectations. Inside you can choose to eat at the counter with a view of the raw chef or at the tables. Try the chef's signature dishes [Popcorn Shrimp, Chef's Lobster Salad, Ed's Signature Lobster Roll]

Nothing is better than a lobster roll from a shack on the coast of Maine, but if you can't travel that far, Ed's is a great option! Lobster roll is fresh and delicious. Kinda pricey but a good splurge for a special occasion. Highly recommend!

Lobster roll was delicious and worth the visit. Oyster sampler platter was disappointing- literally all tasted the same.

Found this on Tripadvisor as part of my research for my trip to NYC. Wow is all I can say - we had the lobster roll. Absolutely delicious. Very generous portion of lobster, lovely salad option if you want or French fries. The menu is short but you can also have a full lobster, clams, oysters etc. We sat at the bar. Staff friendly and a happy place to eat. Definitely worth a visit. We wanted to go back but we ran out of time

Went there for lunch. A very nice little place with cozy ambience. The food was delicious with friendly service from the staffs. Great place for lunch. Make sure you try the lobster bisque and lobster roll.

Arguable one of the best lobster rolls I have ever had. Moist flavorful and tons of lobster. Great service and nice wine selection.

A nice small diner "type", with essentially seafood. Fresh products, but prices are on the high, far from what you can expect seing the local. Perhaps not enough choice in wine by the glass. Nice service.

A really nice place with great food. The lobster rolls were amazing. I could really recommend this place.

Place was kind of empty when we arrived, but full when we left. Super popular with good food! Some staff was great and some not that great! But the conclusion is positive.

Came to the city and had to stop by one of the best oyster bars. We enjoyed the food and the service was so great. Staff very attentive and pleasant. The focus is all about serving great food and doing it with a different style. Definitely recommend all to stop by and try this amazing little place in Soho. The oysters chef is just amazing. Knows where all the different types come from. Very friendly and had a great personality.

The steamed lobster was enormous and tasty. The iconic lobster roll was good but overpriced and really nothing special. Just a roll, a few pieces of lobster and fries for 34 usd. The chili marguerita was the winner of the evening.

I was in SoHo looking for a restaurant that apparenly no longer exists, so I decided to stop at Eds. I had heard some good things about it. Decided to try the fish tacos, for a change of pace. The dish looked very pretty when served, and tasted delicious and very fresh. It was obviously freshly prepared. However I can only give it three stars since the server, who was the only one in this very small restaurant/bar, was too busy txting to pay attention to any of the customers. I had to ask for a water refill, for some mayo for the fries, and was quite disappointed when i noticed the malt vinegar and hot sauce behind the bar. None of which I was made aware of as being available. This could have been a place I would visit. however I doubt I will give it another try.

We went there for a late lunch - free spots in the bar. Loved the lobster roll! Perfection with the bread, fries, cucumber - and a beer!!

Rather pretentious lobster place. Although the lobster roll was very good, I made a mistake of ordering the crepe brûlée which was a disaster. Although the sugar on top was crip, inside it was runny and eggy. I couldn’t eat it. I am always very disappointed when it is clear that you don’t like something and no one asks you if there was a problem or if you’d like something else. I paid and left and won’t be back.

this place is amazing not only is the the ambiance and staff great but also the food is great. ive tried everything on the menu and i love it all. the lobster roll and the lobster ravioli are some of my favorites.

Thereare not enough good things one can say about this charming little restaurant. Simplythe best lobster rollin Manhattan, in this humble opinion. Ee

We were in New York for a week and this was the best meal of our trip. Incredible lobster, mac and cheese and lobster roll. 100% recommend it! All staff were helpful and friendly.

Ive been 4 times to this place, awesome service, very nice place for a quick bite, the Lobster buns are a must but I would recommend on going at night service or lunch service, try to avoid afternoon... I will come back next time visiting the city..

Convenient and close to our hotel. Quaint little joint. Crazy delicious food. Had the Lobster Roll special, which included soup and a glass of wine. Had the lobster bisque which was fabulous. Ordered a Caesar salad which was fresh, crisp and tasty - diced anchovies throughout. And, drum roll...the lobster roll was all that it was hyped to be. Splurge and get the fries. Service was superb. Highly recommend.

Aside from the delicious lobster roll the only other positive was our server at the bar, Linwood. We sat at the bar and the 2 women also behind the bar had zero personality. Both ingnored us when we entered. One even tussled her hair in a mirror behind the bar not 5 feet from us. Disgusting and disrespectful.

I had a whole steamed lobster about 3 pounds for lunch. You can order it with coleslaws or fries. Good quality lobster, meat was tender and juicy. Staff is friendly, they come and check on you from time to time and spend time talking to each customer. Very relaxed and friendly environment.

Small restaurant with nice deco , The service is fast and good. Menu is not too big but with enough choice. Prices are correct for NY. The lobster roll is delicious and the whole grilled lobster as well. Go there !

I recently visited this restaurant with a friend, the food was excellent, we had the Oysters which were fantastic. The overall experience was very good and the service was faultless. I would definitely recommend visiting this place next time you are in NYC.

Ed's Lobster Bar is located 222 Lafayette St. Simple in the setting, the service was kind and very nice, and what food. We tried steamed lobster, bay scallops, artichoke and crab dip and clam chowder. All were delicious and prepared to the point. Great unpretentious address.

Excellent service incredible food. Next time I would think about the half roll instead of the full, it was massive but killer. Also, I would do the ravioli for the table, they brought us some to sample and it was wonderful.

Nice lobster bar, good music and good lobster dishes. Good atmosphere, good neighborhood and chocolate lobsters for dessert, we love it

My husband had left his cell phone in the cab and the women who found it said to meet them at Ed's Lobster Bar to pick up the phone. We returned a week later to eat at Ed's. My husband is really a lobster roll fanatic. I grew up in New England & make them occasionally at home. We both agree that Ed's are the best that we've had in NYC! I also enjoy the oysters and fresh fish. We have returned several times since the phone incident and are always delighted!

Long and narrow room with plenty of seating at the bar, maybe 10 small tables towards the back. The staff were friendly and casual. The available wine choices were good. The lobster roll was very good and on the pricey side. Great for lunch.

Happened on this restaurant by chance. It is a small but cozy place. Very fresh seafood and lots and lots of wine. The servers were personable. The prices average but food was good.

Went here with a colleague after a long day of business meetings, and enjoyed the more casual atmosphere while being impressed with the lobster rolls! Unbelievable chunks of fresh lobster on a tasty roll, paired with a nice glass of wine. Very cool diner vibe, but great menu?

We were taken to this restaurant by a friend who lived nearby. She went there regularly so we were greeted as regulars. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Of course we couldn’t resist the Lobster rolls and they were excellent. The waiter was helpful in the wine selection and I was not disappointed. I will definitely go back.

We found this place while looking for soups and I just can't resist a lobster bisque. We could only find seating at the bar, which we actually enjoy, and ordered the bisque and the lobster roll. They were both very tasty and although we did not go for dessert, they actually looked very good. Prices are fair and service was great.

Ed's Lobster Bar is a long, narrow space with white brick walls and a huge chalkboard with specials behind the bar. It feels a bit cramped but is comfortable enough. Our high top table was in an area near the bar and our server was less than attentive, possibly because most of her tables were in another area. We got two glasses of water for three people and when we finished our cocktails she did not offer us more drinks, nor check on us after our meals were served. The lobster-centric menu is printed on the placemats and offers enough variety to please even non-lobster-lovers. The lobster roll was very good, served with fries and pickles. The lobster burger, also served with fries and pickles, was ok. I ordered skate because it is difficult to find. It was good, if somewhat dry, served with a melange of corn and cherry tomatoes. Grilled asparagus was perfectly cooked. If you are craving lobster in NY, Ed's Lobster Bar is not a bad choice.

We knew that we could eat lobster in Downtown Manhattan, so we looked on the web. Their website is not very engaging, but their lobster from Main on ice and kumo moto oysters are the best! Don’t forget the French fries, succulent! and we are from Belgium...We went there 2 evenings in the row. Lovely little place! Unforgettable.

This place has very flavorful food with attention to detail. We shared the calamari that had a nice breading with a hint of spice, lobster mac n cheese that was out of this world, fried clams that was very soft and savory & French fries that was cooked perfectly with a nice golden color and crispness. Highly recommended for a group of friends or a nice date. Will definatly be back again soon.

My wife and I dropped in and ordered a few traditional appetizers; the bisque, lobster roll, and lobster mac n cheese. I also tried the brisket cheeseburger which was arguably the best cheeseburger I've ever had. The restaurant has great fries, full bar service including wine, liquor, specialty cocktails and the wait staff had plenty of personality. The appetizers and entrees all ranged from $10-$25 which was a pleasant surprise for Lobster joint in Soho...

We always go for lunch. Always order one set menu with the lobster roll for main and the other main is the lobster filled pasta. And, we are never disappointed. The food is always very very good, drinks fab and the service lovely. Whenever we are in town, this visit is an absolute must. We have had lobster roll at 3 other places and this is easily the best of th bunch.

Absolutely fantastic, food great service. A cool vibe. Sit at the bar and enjoy some of the best seafood you will ever try. Have the Lobster sandwich wow.

This is a super cosy place in the heart of NY. Fantastic cocktails, good service, well tasted lobster dishes. Tight and small but it’s absolutely one of my favourite places in NY.

Restaurant was small but the food was great! Calamari, lobster roll, grilled lobster were delicious!

Okay, it's not the fanciest restaurant in the city. But service is good and the menu is outstanding. The corn and lobster chowder is a must. Probably the best fries I've ever had, period. Will definitely visit again next time we're in New York.

We went to SoHo for the sole purpose of a return visit to Ed's Lobster, having been twice during a previous visit. Lobster Rolls were as succulent as we remembered. I'm not usually a big fan of chips but really enjoyed the ones served with the lobster roll. Shrimp cocktail, oysters and cocktails were also delicious. We like to sit at the bar. Nice place with excellent food and good service. We have tried lobster rolls elsewhere in town and there is no comparison. Highly recommend Ed's and will return again.

A very nice looking seafood shack with decent village like service. All items are fresh and delicious. Very reasonable wine-list while all other food items are somewhat costly. For sure worth a visit.

This restaurant was recommended by Bobby Flay and it didn't disappoint. You get 4 oz. of Real Lobster on a roll. The lobster ravioli also looked good.

Three of us and we ordered a dozen oysters, lobster cobb salad, lobster mac cheese plus lobster roll to share. Service was attentive & helpful. Must order Lobster Mac & Cheese! All other dishes were good except the cobb salad which was average.

I was in NYC by myself and was recommended Eds by a friend. Its awesome. I had the lobster and I loved every single morsel. I sat and savored and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Service was attentive but not over the top and I felt very welcome even though I was dining alone. I didn't feel rushed at all and I would certainly visit again next time I'm in town.

My family and I stopped in for a late lunch while touring NYC and came away very disappointed. For starters, we should have been scared away by their VERY limited menu offered during our 3pm arrival consisting of lobster bisque, lobster rolls, shrimp cocktail, raw oysters and steamed clams and the bar as our only seating option. In addition to the bartender acting annoyed at the fact we were there, and seemingly ignoring a number of our requests, the food (other than the bisque) was unremarkable and generally lacked flavor. There are definitely better shellfish options in the city...

We have been going to Ed’s a couple times a year for the last 7 years. It’s our favorite casual restaurant in the city.

They do what they are famous for... serve great lobster! Super Nice guys and good food. Even reserved Seats for a family of 5

I ordered lobster roll ( signature dish!) $20 dlls with a table spoon of lobster soo rediculuss small in the over buttered bun. Side dish a with salad season with so much vinagre that has unpleasant to eat, the waiter was rude and unpleasant Will NEVER go back

I was looking for a place to eat for dinner near my AirBNB. This place was across the street. As a huge fan of lobster I knew right away where I was going! The restaurant is small, so with a group you probably want to make reservations to be safe. I sat at the long bar with other diners. I enjoyed their blueberry margarita and had their lobster roll. It was all fantastic. The staff was friendly, attentive and quick. I would definitely go back if I was spending more time here!

As a lover of lobster, I was looking forward to this place. The experience was a complete disaster. First, the server takes 12 minutes to realize that I was actually at the table. She finally comes and asks me what I want. I tell her that I haven't seen the menu, and ask her if she can bring me one. She starts laughing. I ask her if she's okay, and she keeps laughing. I give up and order two items that I assume they have: lobster bisque and mac and cheese. She leaves while I try to stop her: I wanted a glass of brut rosé—but she does not listen. 20 minutes later, another server brings my bisque. No water, no silverware. I ask him if I can have a spoon and a glass of water. A few minutes later my other server comes with a spoon (no water). I ask for water again, and for a glass of rosé champagne. I eat my bisque (good, no oyster crackers, unlike other tables). The water finally comes; no sign of the champagne. About 20 minutes later my mac and cheese arrive. Again, I have to ask for a fork and remind her about the rosé champagne, insisting that if they don't bring it now it ' not worth it. A few minutes later, they bring me a glass of white wine. I tell my server that I had asked for a rosé champagne, and she asks me if I want rosé wine. I insist that I want rosé CHAMPAGNE. She finally brings me the glass, when I am half way through my dish—correct, not much lobster, way too creamy. All in all, a terrible $60 dining experience. I felt laughed at, forgotten, and mistreated.

This place offer's one of the best lobster rolls in the city. The lobster is fresh and the bread is heated up nicely and evenly buttered up. Basically, when you have the lobster roll, it melts right into your mouth :) Other lobster dishes that includes Lobster Bisque, Lobster Ravioli, Lobster Poutine etc is very creative too. An honourable mention is their special of Lobster meatball pasta. It surprisingly goes well and the lobster meatball is quite chewy. The place offers normal service but you cannot reserve a table in advance. We just went in right when it opens at noon and we had no difficulty getting a seat. Note that this place is pretty much only for seafood lovers and the menu doesn't offer a big selection as the place specifically indicates it is a Lobster Bar, not your typical family restaurant

This is a small place, with good lighting, cute bar area. Walked by and felt like seafood. What a treat! The fried clams are the best I’ve ever had, they are huge!! And perfectly cooked. The lobster roll is nice but not spicy. Caesar salad is tasty and the ginger whiskey cocktail is very good.

Great cozy causal atmosphere with a few small tables and a long bar. Lobster rolls were good as well as the fresh fried calamari. A few local craft beers were on tap.

We have been lucky to visit NYC on holidays a couple of times now and we always come here. Nab a spot at the bar if possible, chat to the friendly and knowledgable bar staff, eat yummy seafood (lobster of course but the oysters are pretty good), wash down with a cold beer or glass of wine and life seems pretty good. For mine it's a no brainer, if you are wandering around Soho, drop in for lunch, you won't be disappointed.

Four of us got together to talk and eat and Ed's was the perfect place, particularly on a less crowded Monday. Our waitress was attentive and knew the menu and even made suggestions not to order too many sides as the portions are fairly large. One of our party doesn't eat meat and she immediately advised him not to order the Clam Chowder as it is made with bacon. She suggested the Lobster Bisque instead. It was delicious (so was the chowder). The clam bake was 1 1/2 lbs of steamed lobster with mussels, clams and potatoes, enough to feed two, but was devoured by one. Stuffed broiled lobster was another 1 1/2, not to my taste, but the one who ordered it said it was tender and sweet and the stuffing was tasty. Ed's pickles should not be missed. Sharp, spicy bites that really compliment the seafood. If you're into lobster this is the place, if you're into ambiance - not so much. No sound absorbing materials, wooden seat and not very comfortable cushions on the benches, you're going to sit close enough to the tables on either side to join in their conversation, but somehow it works. It's a restaurant, go for the lobster you will not be disappointed.

I've frequented Ed's for years. It's been a go-to of mine whether on a whim, or when I'm looking to catch up with friends over some 'gansett's and oysters. The staff is more than accommodating, and they go out of there way to make sure you're having a grand time. I can't recommend Ed's enough. Whatever you decide to get, be sure that it'll usually hit your lobster itch.

Booked well in advance, which was also confirmed by email. However, I found myself standing (along with others) in front of a closed door…

Excellent lobster variations and great specialty cocktails. Try the Whiskey Ginger or Chili flake Margarita. Reasonably priced for NYC and nice casual atmosphere.

Visited with my husband. Service was fantastic - attentive, knowledgeable and friendly without being intrusive. Lobster chowder was amazing, lobster burger and lobster roll both delicious. Location is pretty low-key and the restaurant is unremarkable from the outside but I can't recommend highly enough.

I have been a customer at Ed' s Lobster Bar for years now, always enjoying the food. My latest visit, while in NYC from Miami, was definitely a TOTAL SERVICE INSULT. Immediately upon entering the restaurant with my family, including our 2 1/2 year old daughter, the bearded effeminate bartender came at me with jection and attitude. " We are only serving lobster rolls and a limited menu" he barked, obviously wanting to end his day early. When I told him we were fine with that and asked to sit at the EMPTY TABLES towards the back of the restaurant, he immediately snapped, "that section is closed!" When I asked him why, to my amazement, he replied, "it's NOT ALL ABOUT YOU" ........ I have never been spoken to in this fashion at a restaurant by a service employee anywhere on this planet. His disgraceful and unprofessional attitude should NEVER BE TOLERATED BY THE OWNER OF A RESTAURANT PROPERTY. This is the kind of person that should be working at a transmission repair shop, sweeping metal shavings off the floor. While still in shock, we went to the great Vietnamese restaurant a few doors down and had a great meal there. They will NEVER SEE ME THERE AGAIN!

Expensive - but not worth it. Everything we ordered was overloaded with sauce. Sorry to say, but what a ruin of lobster! We will not be back. Very dissaponted.

My kids first time in New York. We live in Virginia. Stopped in around 4 pm. I agree the lobster roll is delicious but this place is pricey. One lobster roll, a bowl of soup and 6 oysters for $70. We all had water to drink.

Before the move down Lafayette Street Ed’s was cozy with the best lobster roll, French fries and staff in manhattan. Now, not so much.

We came across in this little restaurant, and...wow..we just realized it would have been a great time there..amazing staff and perfect, really perfect lobster..In other words..it was like to have a sex 😉

My daughter and I had lunch here recently. I don't eat lobster often but Ed's has set the standard very high for a lobster roll. It was very good to say the least.

I love Ed's Lobster Bar. I stay in Soho to be close to my restaurants and bars. I come to NYC once a year to eat, drink and shop. My first stop after I drop my bag at the hotel is to walk real fast to Ed's on Lafayette Street. I already know what I am going to get every time my only other decision is whether to get fries or a salad with the lobster roll. I was there for five days and I went there twice. I mainly went to try other places too, so i tried the place at the pier, well it was small and the bread was like a piece of texas toast it was wrapped in and I was still hungry. So I left there and had to get an order of french fries at Greenwich Tavern up the street, so I guest I paid 25.00 for the view of the statue of liberty. Don't even go to Chelsea market that lobster place is a rip off too. So no more trying these other places, I am sticking with the best and that is Ed's!! I can't wait to go back. Liz

My 11 year old picked this - he wanted to try lobster! The staff were really friendly. Food was great and I now have a lobster fan in the family! If that’s not enough the other fish they serve is just as divine. Calamari and grilled shrimps were also fab!

I went to the one in Sag Harbor, that has replaced Bay Burger, and it was terrible. I much prefer Bay Burger. I went with two family members , and they both hated their food also. To start, I had the Lobster Bisque which was the only thing that any of us had that was kinda good, but towards the bottom of the bowl, it got really flaky. Did not finish. For my entree, I had the lobster Mac n’ Cheese which was literally just a scoop of the Lobster Bisque on top of some pasta with a few pieces of lobster and a pile of breadcrumbs on top. No. Cheese. At. All. Did not finish. We did not bother to stay for desert. The service was also terrible. We asked our waitress how the Tuna tar tar was prepped and she said “Raw.” The staff have barely any knowledge about the food. When we were done we asked for the check, and a minute later, we saw her in her car. The food and service here is terrible, and you should not bother to come here. It is a waste of time and money. A LOT of money.

Best lobster bisque ever! Perfectly cooked lobster and briney oysters. Sit at the bar for a relaxed and unpretentious evening eating deliciously fresh seafood.

Walked by this place and walked in for a late lunch. We loved the atmosphere, and the service was very cheerful and friendly. My wife ordered the Lobster Ravioli and I had a Lobster, both were delicious! Prices are reasonable, I would certainly recommend this place.

This is a regular spot for me. The lobster roll is outrageously good and the service has always been super friendly and consistently good. I always bring my friends from out of town - they have all been super impressed. Love, love, love this place.

2/1/18 - My daughter took me to this place because it had very good reviews but the proof was in the pudding. This restaurant had limited seating and what was there was "tight". Upon entering we were told that we could only sit at the bar because this was their policy for after lunch but before dinner ("weird"). A drink menu was placed in front of each of us while the limited menu of food was on a chalk board! Since none of my party ate raw shell fish, didn't care for the two types of soups that were offered we could only choose from three items. My daughter had the Shrimp Cocktail with a side of Fries, my husband and I choose the Lobster Roll that came with a Salad and marinated Pickles on the side. Where do I start with this disaster? Ok, one would think that a "Lobster Bar" would get it's seafood right, wrong so wrong on a lot of levels! The first dish to arrive was my daughters Shrimp Cocktail (I've never seen Shrimp Cocktail served on a plate, but it was served that way) with Fries on the side. I tried her dish and the Shrimp were cold but over cooked, the sauce was no more than Ketchup with Vinegar in it and I wouldn't touch the Fries because they looked almost "burnt" (although she said she liked it). My husband as well as myself got our orders at the same time. I kept saying "why do I smell Vinegar?" well I found out by asking the server and I was told the Pickles were marinated in several types of Vinegar and the Salad also had several types of Vinegar on it. I was frightened but I tried a Pickle and spit it in my napkin and preceded to drink plenty of water. My $30. Lobster roll was not just cold but quite chilly and its meat was very chewy (over cooked). After taking a bite I took the meat off the roll because the toasted roll was dripping in Butter. The meat that was left (after one small bite) was only several tiny bites. I took my Salad home only to find that it was over dressed and had way too much Vinegar. The service here was good and fairly fast but the food was over cooked, under seasoned and over dressed, you decide because I know I won't be back.

Small restaurant and friendly staff. I ate the broiled lobster and it was exquisite. Saw many peopleeating the lobster roll and I'll probably try next time.

Lobster ravioli amazing. Lobster pie was absolutely vile. Service was great. Partner and I were sharing. First to arrive was the ravioli and we loved it. Expectations were High for the pie and when it arrived it looked like an insta worthy photo. Unfortunately what lay beneath the crust was what only be described as cream out the tub with a few vomit like cubes of carrot and potato and very few sparse off cuts of lobster. When we complained it was suggested that we weren’t the first to say something. Maybe chef should listen? Oh well! We were compensated but baffled by the chalk and cheese evening. Casual dining

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best tasting lobster I've ever had. Caught fresh that morning I believe. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are warm and friendly. Would highly recommend visiting.

Got to say the service and the food in this restaurant is second to none. I am a great believer in letting the pictures do the talking so if these don't get your mouth watering for a lobster you are looking for the wrong type of food. I am salivating as write this review. Honestly go there. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Accidentally walked by this little gem. Very busy but managed to squeeze a seat at the bar. Was worried that service would be slow but food arrived very soon after ordering. Lobster was fresh and plentiful. Worth a visit if nearby

We are from Virginia, so when we have the chance to eat fresh lobster, we do since we cannot get it at home. Ed's lobster roll was absolutely fantastic! You get large chunks of lobster that is not consumed with the sauce. You can really taste the lobster. The roll is enough bread, but not too much. HIGHLY recommend eating here when visiting NYC!!

I come with with my father pretty much every week. I'm obsessed with the lobster roll and blueberry creme brulee! They have a great selection of drinks and the service is great, everyone is super friendly. I'm slowly making my way through the menu, it's a little expensive but the most worth it is the lobster roll.

My boss took me here whilst visiting NYC on work, the food, drink and service was great. I had the shrimp cocktail and lobster roll - both were very good portions and great quality. The only let down was how many people they cram into the bar area, you don't really have enough elbow room to be comfortable

Entering at 1PM it was quite empty. However, I did secure a reservation beforehand. Good thing too bc within minutes, it became full. Seating at the bar is a bit uncomfortable - my knees kept hitting the bar. Lemonade was made to order and it was refreshing. They seem to cater to wine and mixed drinks. Shrimp cocktail was HUGE! And their own cocktail sauce seemed fresher than the jar. Lobster and Mac and cheese was a bit disappointing. Pasta in sauce with a piece of lobster meat topped off. One piece had a lobster shell! A bit pricey for me: cost $49 but it is Manhattan and seafood. Give it a try.

I've always loved this place. A little New England in Soho, small and intimate, with excellent fish and seafood. I always have the lobster roll, with a generous serving of big chunks of lobster, lightly dressed, and perfect French fries. Fish and chips good too, but not the big battered fish you get in the UK, Canada, and New Zealand, the kind that requires malt vinegar. The mussels in a lobster broth were perfect. Next time, steamer clams. One guest had linguine and clams, nice big succulent clams, and was happy. Service was good. Place has a very nice vibe.

The lobster roll was the best I ever had. The service was friendly and appropriately attentive. I was there for lunch and almost went back for dinner.

Fast attentive service. Small menu but delicious food. Not a lot of fish choices. Yummy oysters, shrimp, and Caesers salad.

We had 8 specialty places on our list to hit on this trip into the city and this was one. I do have to say we did make a reservation just in case and we had to wait until 5pm for what we were after to be available. We had the lobster Mac and cheese (which wait until it cools) because the flavor gets better and we had the lobster potine which was really good. I would definitely go back here.

While visiting the city for a few days, found this place. When we first walked in, I was thinking this place is small, but there is more room in the back. There is tray of ice just in the bar, where some fresh items are waiting for you. We had a couple orders of the oysters, as well as half a lobster, and a few other items. I will return here for a good meal next time I am in the city.

We decided to treatourselves with lobster and reserved table for 4 pm. When we came they informed us, in unpolite manner, that they serve dinner from 5 so.we have to wait... service was pretty bad all time long. We ordered shrimp coctale and buffalo wings which are not good at all and also lobster soup that was very good! We also ordered lobster ravioli which was excelent and clam sliders that was ok. All in all we wont come back ever!

A very nice place, people were great food is excellent However it is small, so be prepared to wait a bit A lobster roll with a coupe of pink champagne will worth the wait

Stopped by for lunch. Had the lobster roll and it was excellent. Clam chowder very good also. Lobster mac and cheese also good. Great food and service.

This place is so good. I like eggs Benedict and their lobster Benedict May be the best I have ever had of any sort of Benedict. Served with a green salad and good house dressing. Others had clam chowder that was said to be a bit thin, and a lobster roll that was extremely good. Give this place a try. I will come back.

I had a great experience with MY server and MY food. I had a reservation, but was treated like I didn't. Ohhhkaaay… I sat at the end of the bar and was constantly nudged by servers that (I think) were serving the main dining room. When I first arrived, and said I had a reservation, they said "just sit anywhere", but didn't want to remove the coats they had on chairs "reserved" for their friends. They were rude and immature, all three of them, constantly huddling at the end of the bar and making fun of customers. Really, really bad. My server was the bartender and she was just as young as the other servers but much more professional, efficient and friendly. The food was great. The lobster was perfect red, full 1.5 lbs and the shell and claws were full of tender, juicy, flavorful meat. Seems to me management is absent at this place and needs to be replaced because despite the annoying servers to my left, I could never see anyone who appeared to be in management. Next time I would go back to Burger and Lobster ONLY because of the service issue.

The best lobster and lobster ravioli ever.... Lobsterpalooza!!! Had corn and lobster chowder, lobster ravioli And broiled lobster with drawn butter..... Going back AGAIN before we go home to Houston! Staff was wonderful!!!😍

We planned a dinner at The Chef's Table Brooklyn Fare that evening and decided to stop at this spot just around the corner from our hotel for lunch. It hit the spot perfectly. The lunch menu is limited but fortunately the oysters are still available. They were extremely fresh and perfect with nothing more than their own juice. We also had a lobster roll and though a little pricey, it had enough meat and the bread was good quality. A heaping portion of fresh greens accompanied the roll. A couple beers and we were supremely content. Staff is friendly and the overall feel is that of a fav local hang out. Not fancy but good quality.

Hidden gem? Ed’s Lobster Bar’s vibe is super cool and reminds me of a sushi/omakase spot in tokyo with the long bar and small tables. The food is super fresh and cooked to perfection. Just the thought of the lobster roll makes me hungry, and the grilled lobster was perfect. We also shared the fried clams as a starter - tasty af. Amazing service, super friendly and helpful staff (we showed up 30 min early for our reservation, and they got us a table right away), a good selection of beers and seafood in general. Can’t wait to come back!

So so good! We had the fried clams, lobster roll and lobster ravioli. All were wonderful but the ravioli was simply amazing. Very small but cute restaurant. Service was great.

This seemed a popular restaurant with locals; always one way visitors can pre-judge if a restaurant has great food if locals frequent it. Away from the touristy areas of New York city, Ed's has reasonably priced good food and very friendly and courteous waitresses. If you like your seafood, this place is worth finding your way to

we stopped by just to get a snack and kept ordering more and more of the oysters! Looking forward to my next visit to try the lobster

Always good to be back at Ed’s Lobster bar. Despite being one of the smallest restaurant I have ever visited, they serve one of the best lobster rolls money can buy. In addition they have a nice selection of beers.

Market pick of Oysters: 10++ Highly recommend . Taste like heaven. Famous lobster roll: 10/10 Shrimp cocktail: 9/10 Grill shrimp: 10+ Creme Brulee: 9/10 Amazing quality of food, reasonable price! This foods make you feel happy after having it because the taste is very good and the way they make it quite healthy.

We’ve always loved this place for the lobster rolls and service. I’m a native Rhodesia Islander and this Soho lobster shack delivers the real thing. They’ve moved recently a couple of blocks to a new location on the corner of Grand and Lafayette - look for it.

. This was a great find worth the walk , the food was great service was good , had lobster roll and fizz,

Delicious food in small boutique restaurant on the edge of the Italian neighborhood. The menu has tasty names of mainly lobster ingredients. We ordered the tuna tartare and eggplant as a starter and the lobster pasta and lobster roll and truffle fries as main. Superb food, great wine and friendly staff. What else do you need for a great night out? Five stars

We went here as we love lobster rolls I wouldn't recommend this place for lobster rolls was extremely expensive for the amount of lobster we got compared to all the other places we had visited during our trip. We found the staff was hovering over you whilst you was eating basically waiting for you to finish and leave. When we walked in they asked if we had a table booked the resturant was completely empty we said no and she said well your meant to book as we're busy. The whole time we was there nobody else entered the resturant so clearly wasn't that busy.

We stopped by here during a late lunch since love seafood. It’s a small restaurant but their food is tasty and amazing! We had the lobster roll with fries – so delicious!! Also tried the Fried Oyster Sliders – again, delicious! Wished we lived closer – so we could come back more often and try all the other items on the menu. Definitely a great place if you love seafood!

Wes topped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Some really good shrimp and the kids loved their lobster rolls. My lobster Mac n cheese was great, just a smaller portion or it would have been a 5 star rating. Great location in SoHo.

We saw this restaurant was recommended by Bobby Flaye so we tried it out. The food was great, especially the Lobster Roll. The service however was terrible. We got there at 11:15 & there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant. The waitress stayed on her cell phone texting the entire time we were there. We had to go get her for more water & drinks. Very expensive for what you get!

When you only have three nights in New York, every meal counts. And it leaves such a horrible taste in your mouth when you’re excited to eat somewhere, happy to throw a few hundred quid at it (it’s NYC, + lobster) and then you then have an experience like this. The waiting staff were moody and rude, and at one point, downright aggressive. And we’re from London. We can handle aggressive. Well, passive aggressive at least. But I have never experienced service like this. And as a former waitress, who knows how important tips are, never not wanted to leave one before. Such a shame as this place had been recommended by a friend, and we were excited to come here. At one point, our waitress actually rolled her eyes at us when we tried to lighten the mood and make a joke. I then tried to order another drink, apparently to the wrong server. Our waitress came over and just snapped ‘what did you say to him?’. One of those moments in life when you’re so shocked, you don’t back yourself. You just stutter an answer. We all sat there, a bit stunned, and wondering ‘what the hell did we do to upset this person?’. It was bizarre. (Incidentally, the drink didn’t arrive, we had to ask again for it). The food came out in the wrong order. Which we were okay with, happy to eat stuff as and when it came. But the mains came out when we still had starter plates in front of us and hadn’t quite finished. And when I said this, the response I had was ‘well this plate is burning my hand’ and it got slapped down anyway, and to the wrong person. We then didn’t have cutlery, and got daggers (ironically, as it was forks we needed, not knives) when I asked for some. It was like we’d just stepped into a teenager’s bedroom, or the middle of a couple’s fight, or just a really bad joke that cost us £250. Food was okay, but the night was ruined, and we were in and out in an hour. We can’t ever get that Friday night back in New York, so thanks for that. This review is me officially trying to get over it, and let it go.

I first heard about Eds from an episode of Million Dollar Listing NYC and was keen on my trip to do something off the beaten tourist track. It certainly didn't disappoint. It's small but worth it. Best lobster bisque ever and there signature lobster roll is truly outstanding. The lobster ravioli was also highly rated on our trip. Attentive service, great cocktail and wine list and for New York not crazy expensive. Highly recommend

Went to this Restaurant after watching a TV programme on an American Show. We had the The Lobster roll.... it was absolutely awesome very tasty indeed

Love this place. Best lobster and lobster roll in New York. Love to come here whenever I can. Always delicious.

A visit to Ed's is a must when in NYC. I usually get the boiled lobster which is much juicier than the grilled ones. Do also try the mussels which are great!

The place is tiny but nice. The quality of the lobster is high.. also the roll is really good. Average price and quick service.

food is delicious and you don't have to get one main meal get a few raw bar and apps for the table and enjoy!

Absolutely shocking paid for a plate of nachos with abit of sauce, bits of lobster and bits of chillies, one small can of cider, one small of beer...and 3 lobster rolls with fries..but looked more like lobster happy meals served on side plates!...the first time in my life I've had a main meal served to me on a side plate $147.00..actually though I had been given the wrong bill..joke of a place...🤡

Restaurant has MOVED to 155 Grand street, only 2 blocks from the old location. Great service and delicious seafood! I had a craving for a lobster roll, and left very satisfied.

Friendly staff, good food, 10/10 would definitely recommend. Delicious seafood for a nice price. Very friendly staff and very helpful with picking the oyster that is right for you!

This is the second time we have visited Ed’s Lobster Bar and it was just as good as the last time. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is excellent ( especially the Lobster Roll) and the wine list has some hidden gems. (Try the Verdejo) From the street the facade doesn’t look very appealing but take a risk and step inside and you won’t be disappointed with the service, food and prices. Give it a try.

This quaint seafood style restaurant fulfilled every expectation. Nestled in SOHO, this restaurant serves a "knock-out" lobster roll. Served with homemade pickles and fries it is simplistic, but don't let that fool your taste buds. The flavor of the lobster is superb and cooked to perfection. This traditional style lobster roll was well worth the price. To compliment, the steamed mussels in lobster sauce were also on point. Don't order these without an appetite. To cap this off, you must try their Arnold Palmer. Made in house, it is the perfect blend of lemonade and tea. Take it up a notch an order the John Daly. You won;t be disappointed. There were three waiters that serviced the entire restaurant, so service lacked some. However, they were exceptionally helpful when it came to the menu descriptions, drinks, and information about the area. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. I know I can't wait to go back.

In Soho, sauntering around we happened into this amazing eatery that features fresh lobster and other seafood dishes! Absolutely AMAZING discovery!! All staff but especially Aaron and Gonzalo were so welcoming and accommodating. We came in for a bite yet stayed for hours enjoying the food and hospitality! We began with the Bibb salad, so crisp and delicious, followed by lobster Mac and cheese, which was rich with the infusion of the lobster in a creamy but light sauce! After enjoying a couple glasses of an outstanding Chardonnay we couldn’t resist some oysters shucked before our eyes accompanied by the best fries I can remember eating. Insanely good. This establishment will now be added to my list of FAVORITE destinations for satisfying food and delightful ambiance. I can’t say enough about this pearl in the oyster in lower Manhattan!!!!

A friend suggested we go here for lunch and get the lobster rolls. They were probably the best we've ever had, including those eaten on our trips to Florida and New England. Perfect roll and tons of lobster. This place is a gem!

How very sad that a restaurant I used to visit on a regular basis has sunk so low. First, a few positives. The staff behind the counter were warm and welcoming. The cocktails were good and reasonably priced, by NYC standards. But the food. And the cost. Someone needs to tell poor Ed that decreasing the quantity of the portions while raising the prices is a sure path to restaurant oblivion. The $10 New England Clam Chowder was falsely titled. Its' real title: New England Potato Chowder. If there was a clam in my chowder it must have been buried under the mass of potatoes in the soup. As for the signature $36 lobster Roll really? The roll, while quite tasty, contained no more than four ounces of lobster meat. As a joke I imagine they actually had a half lobster roll for $20. This must be a one bite wonder. C'mon Ed cut the prices and increase the portions size before you end up playing video games in the kitchen.

Been here quite a few times over the last 10 years and it either a 4 or a 5 star experience (so the average would be 4.5 for me). Always good seafood and lobster but priced slightly above average.

I've been coming to Ed's since they opened and it's with a heavy heart that I can no longer recommend it. Between covid and inflation, I expect a drop in quality but Ed's has become much much worse. The Lobster is tasteless and the Mac and cheese is Kraft's supermarket quality. The portions too small but the price is gone up far too much. AVOID.

My husband and I had to walk out before we even sat down given insults by the staff. Comments on my attire and the fact we were travelers was disrespectful. I've never been treated like this before in a restaurant and feel bad for the patrons that will be exposed to this unacceptable behavior. Treat people with kindness. We didn't deserve this and it put a damper on our day. We just wanted a lobster roll.

Love this charm bar, perfect for a couple, champagne or a good dry martini, and a delicious lobster roll

Lobster roll is delicious but small and pricey. Tip: order the half roll to save some money it is the same size as the whole lobster roll just half the lobster meat but just enough to satisfy IMO. I got the whole roll and wife got the half. Oysters were good not great and same with the soup. The soup may have been slightly burned not inedible but a slight taste. Very expensive but I came here expecting that as I have been here before. Go for the lobster roll only and do the half roll if you want to save some $$$.

Best lobster rolls ever! Lovely staff, nice atmosphere. A must when you’re in NYC! Sit at the bar for the full experience ;)

Set in the bar with fried for lunch having great lobster roll and plate of oysters Great dishes highly recommend Cheers

find this place when i was walkng on the street and it was a realy good surprise the food is delicies, realy fresh sea food the lobster is great i just think is a little expensive love it

I was extremely disappointed when I took a friend for lunch today. I was expecting to have the same experienced I had before the pandemia and for that reason I went back today. The place looked dirty, unkempt and poorly managed. We sat outside and after our order was taken we waited 20 minutes before a waitress came and realized our order had not been placed. We ordered the "famous" Ed's Lobster Roll and when it came we could not believe the size and its presentation on a hot dog roll. Pitiful. Nothing to match the Coast Guard House at Narragansett, RI, where yesterday we ordered the same dish and were very pleased with the size, flavor and presentation, not to mention the service as well. Ed's needs great deal of improvement to keep maintaining its customers happy!! I do not recommend the place.

My gf and had been furniture shopping hard in SoHo and visited Mitchell and Gold ( as an aside great pieces) after a decent sum of funds were transferred, we began looking for some lunch. Completely by accident we viewed Ed’s. Went in at noon on a Sunday. It was quiet to start but rapidly filled up. Lots of young people taking pictures of themselves with the menu? Anyway we met a great guy behind the bar who totally engaged us. The oysters carried a brisk briny taste, the condiments as well did not disappoint. Next, a sweet lobster roll with a small amount of mayonnaise and fat pieces of lobster. Ed’s homemade pickles came fried with a nice tartar sauce ( ranch would be good too). Made us feel like we were old regulars. I’ll come back soon!

The place was recommended by a friend who saw Bobbay Flay talked about it. Anyway, I tried the Lobster Roll, and it was delicious, but nothing extraordinary. I have an issue with the portion size comparing to the price, other than that the taste was excellent.. the roll was deliciously rich with butter, and the lobster was soft, little chewy, but fresh.. I have a couple of concerns: 1) I think the decor is a bit flat, and it could have more to show the main theme of being specialized in Lobster. 2) The different attitude from the staff.. The waiter showed a friendly face, but the waitress wasn’t welcoming. Such place need some vibes behind the counter to make customers enjoy the experience and have desire to visit again.

I visited Ed twice during my stay in the City. The first time alone for a quick lunch. Had a lobster salad with was good, not too big though, great fries and a glass of rose, which was completely overpriced and which we would use in Europe barely for cooking. Next to me a couple, which asked the waiter for the types of oysters the restaurant is offering, the waiter answering with a sophisticated “east coasts oysters, you know.” I doubt whether this answer will satisfy every customer, nevertheless I left the restaurant with a very positive impression. Positive enough to convince my friends from Europe to visit the restaurant in a bigger group for a lobster dinner. We were around 9, and ordered the lobster. This time I sticked with the cider, and the wines which were ordered by my friends supported my view they this is definitely not a place for wines. However, in the bigger group I had the impression that the restaurant could not cope with a bigger group of guests. This time the service als seems less friendly than during my first stay. All in all I can recommend the place for a lunch, as long as you do not insist in good wines - which you will not find here.

Best lobster rolls ever. We also had grilled shrimps and oysters and they were to die for too.... 3 thumbs up for this place 😋

Poor attention to the detail, no seasoning on the the overcooked lobster, horrible American bread and a hefty price tag. Avoid

My wife took me for my birthday. Not only was the food terrific, but the cooking was surprisingly creative. And my drink was wonderful. I had the lobster roll with fries. Both were superb. I also had the blueberry margarita, which was delicious. My wife had the grilled asparagus and octopus. She loved both. My only complaint is about the music, which was relatively low but not what most folks will enjoy. (Reggaeton, oddly enough.)

Saw the great reviews and decided that this was a must try. Starter with the clam chowder which was decent but had one clam....yes one clam, basically this was potato soup with a clam. Went then for the house special, lobster roll. Good amount of lobster but it really lacked any flavour and seasoning. Finally I have to give a disappointing zero score our servers attitude, it does not take much to say thank you and greet your guests with a smile, but alas this was too much to ask for and made for an unpleasant counter experience.

Don't be discouraged by the size of this restaurant. My wife and I took my dad out for dinner while in NYC for a short trip. We were all blown away by how good the food is here. Lobster rolls are on par with the best of the best in Boston/Maine. Fish tacos were also excellent. Great service rounded it all out to be a memorable experience.

Was working in soho for a month and this was my most memorable lunch. I wolfed down the lobster roll and fries and wish I could justify ordering another.

So glad we picked this quaint place to eat get our oyster and lobster fix while in the city last weekend!

delicious lobster´s raviollis and an amazing burger!!!, staff was very nice too, i was surprised ,good surprise!

We were very excited to visit this lobster joint during our trip to New York with great reviews and what looked like a delicious menu. Firstly, We loved our food choices of clam chowder, lobster roll and lobster mac and cheese...fresh and delicious served with white wine. Great look and feel of the restaurant But we were somewhat disappointed at the really rude and unfriendly bar man/ server. He seriously did not want any guests in the diner and made us feel that way!

Really good food. I had the shrimp to start and a whole lobster main - both cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly. Our waiter was really attentive and made sure we always had drinks and were enjoying the meal. The actual dining area is very small, but does have a nice atmosphere.

Went to Ed's Lobster Bar with some family. First, the big disclaimer: I personally don't care for lobster. The flavor is good, but the consistency is just not to my liking. So this review reflects the opinions of the others at the table. Three of us ordered the lobster roll. There was LOTS of lobster piled high on the roll, a nice salad, and a delicious pickle. Our fourth person ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which everyone liked. Service was fine. As for atmosphere, there isn't any. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall place with lots of people stuffed in. Below I'm going to call Ed's "Mid Range" for price because the term "Fine Dining" takes in more than price. For an out-of-towner like me, Ed's seemed pretty pricey, higher than "Mid Range", but given the overall feel of the restaurant, no way could I call it "Fine Dining".

Ed's is simple and just plain good. There is more thank just lobster (but the lobster is so good). We like to sit at the bar for our meal but tables are available. We've never made a bad choice.

This little place served the best food. Lobster roll well worth the $$s. It was full of chunk meat. Lobster corn chowder was great. Needed a bit of salt but served hot and was delicious! All wait staff attentive to your table and so nice. Small and quaint. Wine selections great!

I stopped in here because of the reviews I read. I enjoyed the lobster roll, but I too don't think there is anything special. I think the price you pay for it is not worth it.
The Perfect Place for lunch
This was the perfect spot for a casual lunch with a bottle of wine. Several different dishes to choose from featuring different combinations of lobster. Service was very friendly and attentive. Solid wine list from which to choose. Definitely will return.
