I am ashamed to say I did not photograph our food. It was absolutely amazing! Service was over the top! Check out this gem! I promise you will love it! The seared tuna is to die for!!!

Amazing service from the moment you walked through the door, nothing was to much trouble. The food was perfect and the attention to detail was perfect.

Oh my, our dinner was delicious! My husband ordered the “Ribeye Steak” with a garden salad and jumbo potatoes. I ordered the “Fried Calamari”. The side dishes were a serving for two. Dim lighting with candles 🕯 on table was perfect for a romantic dinner. The staff was awesome. I recommend this restaurant $$ - $$$.

We enjoyed a cocktail and appetizer at the bar. The bartender, from Romania I think, was personable and very nice! We would go there again in a heart beat.

We had a wonderful dinner. The portions were huge and delicious. The service staff were top notch and we would certainly go back as there are so many things to try on the menu.

Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed our visit and all 3 courses. We had the porterhouse for 2 and it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this steakhouse when in the city, seafood dishes also very good!

The NY night specially during cold season invites to meet each other. This a very well located near Central Park and great Av (6th and 7th) Kind reception at the entrance, dominated by a bar, tall chairs and tables. We didn’t try steak, however they were served to other table and looked promising, Many colors and sound.. a little noisy

If you are staying at the hotel and need a very nice dinner at a very reasonable price, this is an excellent choice. The food is great and the wine list very nice. The service is good, but not a great as we like it to be--he failed to check up on us and we had to call him over for additional wine. The ambiance is cozy, but still upscale urban. The restaurant is right on the street level and you get the "usual" characters walking by...

Nice hot breakfast buffet, nextdoor to the HIlton Garden Inn. Reasonable prices, good food, and discounts for those staying at the hotel.

We’ve enjoyed this place on our last 2 visits to NYC. Of course the steaks are superb but perhaps surprisingly for a “steak house” so is the seafood. Waitstaff was very professional,helpful with the ordering process, and offered the perfect level of attention. On this latest visit we were very happy with chateaubriand for 2 but noticed the table next to us was enjoying wonderful looking seafood. Conveniently located a few blocks from Times Square.

This was my second time to Empire Steak House and once again they did not disappoint. I had remembered a great steak here several years ago with family and on this business trip steak was on the mind so we decided to see if it could equal my last visit. Boy did they ever. Great service, drinks, atmosphere, and most definitely the steaks. Wonderful. Highly recommended..

It was just next to my hotel and looked like a traditional fancy steakhouse of NYC. It seems like a popular place with Japanese tourists for client entertainment. It's not cheap as you have to pay about $10 more for your steak compared to another average restaurant, being a fancy looking place. You'd also have to pay extra for sides such as creamed spinach, mash potatoes, etc. Gratuity will be automatically included so watch out you don't double tip. In perspective, compared to Wolfgang Puck's steak house, this restaurant would be considered much cheaper or more worth it.

Stopped by for a late lunch here when the traffic is low and the lunch menu is very affordable. Very pleasing environment and friendly staff. Meal, a filet, was well prepared, Bacon appetizer a really good. Nice bread rolls provided, too. Main menu very pricey, but everything I saw while I was there looked and smelled great.

The welcome was very pleasant, professional and attentive, the advice on dishes and wines was relevant. We chose the T bone steak which was perfectly cooked, blue ("rare" for English speakers) and every bite was a delight. The Napa Valley wine was a perfect fit, although a little surprising at first for a French pleasure, it turned out to be excellent. It's been a long time since I've tasted such good meat.

The prices are high, but the steak was worth it! We go the filet for two as opposed to two smaller filet at higher price. It was so tender and juicy. As in most high scale restaurants, the sides are al a cart. The baked potato was huge. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. However, I'm glad we ignored the host and hostess. They were so rough and curt my friend didn't even want to enter. If you can get past them, the food is really good.

Good : Food, service , the atmosphere was nice , not to noisy. One major issue there are NO BATHROOMS in the Restaurant. You have to go next door in Hotel Lobby where the is 1 toilet 1 sink and when I entered the sink was filled with vomit . I took a pic and showed it to manager. It was disgusting There is a bathroom 2 floors down in Hotel but a NYC high end restaurant no bathrooms ? The manager/Maître d’ gave us after dinner drinks but really was missing the big picture. Get a clean up crew ASAP

The staff is out of this world when it comes to their attention to details. The management team is amazing especially Albert and Besmir. The food here is delightful. It's not just delicious, it's also high-quality and packed with flavor and the service just add to the overall experience.

I recently visted the Empire Steakhouse on 54th in NYC. I love a good steak but this was the worst Ive ever eaten. The spice/salt used on the steak was horrible. So sooo salty. I wouldnt recommend it and I wont be back!

Wonderful & consistent. The ambience, warm intimate friendly attentive and the food is excellent. Steaks are quality and cooked exactly the way you order it. The service is professional and attentive and the location is the BEST!’ You will not be disappointed with Empire Steakhouse ❤️

Wow! We had a fantastic time having dinner at Empire Steak. Situated right next to our hotel, the exterior is deceiving. Once inside, the bar area is pretty cool, but go further inside you realize how large the dining room is. All the waiters are from Albania, and they were so friendly and attentive. My sister and I shared an order of oysters, which were just okay. We followed that with Lobster Bisque, which had huge chunks of lobster and just the right amount of cream. We also split the large filet, a baked potato, and the creamed spinach, which was plenty for us and was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. We had some of their specialty cocktails prior to dinner and ordered a nice bottle of Frog's Leap Zin with the steak. While some of the locals said this place was average, I beg to differ - we felt it was a great experience with amazing service, delicious food, and a nice ambience. We would definitely go back when we are in NYC next time.

We wanted to treat ourselves to a good meal on one of our nights out in New York. This was a great place to treat ourselves to something special!

We had dinner here twice during a holiday in NYC. Service os friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Food was great both times. First night I had oysters as a starter which were excellent. My wife and I shared a Porterhouse for our main course. It was amazing. The only downsize was the steak was too big for us (44oz). We took the remains back to our hotel for the next day. The ambience in the hotel was great, very romantic. Although on the face of it, it may appear expensive it was good value for quality and quantity

Ardy is an amazing waiter/barterder he recommended the empire steak!! It was so delicious!! Medium rare paired with a martini 🍸. This made our boys night out. Roberto the manager was very helpful as well! We live in the area and they made us feel like we have a second home in NYC!!! Recommend this place!!

My son wanted steak and we hit the jackpot unexpectedly. A recommendation from our concierge, we were able to reserve a table for 4 for 5 pm. The guys shared the Emperor Steak (filet and NY Strip) which they declared was one of the best ever. Beautifully charred outside with buttery inside and our friendly waiter Adnan fabulously plated the steak along with a dribbling on the au jus. Long cut homemade fries, asparagus, truffle Mac n cheese, pasta bolognese and a tray of desserts. Fantastic!! Great experience all around.

We were lucky to end up here as our original choice was closed. We sat at the bar and had a couple of cocktails & then sat & had a fantastic steak meal. It’s not a cheap option to eat here by any means, but if you’re looking for a ‘special meal’ in lovely surroundings with outstanding service, this is your place.

My son-in-law, Jay, decided to have a late dinner at Empire Steakhouse during a family trip to NYC this past summer. He and my daughter, three grandsons, and my wife and I attended a Mets game that evening. It had rained just before game time which delayed the start of the game about an hour. The boys were getting tired so we left the game in the fourth inning. Jay had spotted the Empire because it was near their hotel, so he suggested we head there for dinner. We arrived a little before 10:00 but they were open until 11:00. Jay ordered us the Tomahawk Wagyu steak for two for the table, home fries, sautéed mushrooms, lobster ravioli, and two jumbo shrimp cocktails. It was after 10:30 by the time all the food got there. The service was impeccable. It was served family style. By the time we had sampled some of everything we were all satisfied. My 11 year old grandson got the honor of gnawing on the bone. It was a fun dinner with delicious food and great service. I highly recommend the Empire.

Very nice IPA here and very good happy hour price. The staffs are very friendly and professional.Fresh oysters and squids.

Simply Fantastic! Food was delicious, service was second to none. The team work very very hard and it was noticed! In particular we received impeccable service from a young gentleman who has only been working there for 3 weeks (I forget his name, I am so sorry) but he was absolutely fantastic. If we’re ever visiting again from the U.K we will definitely be back! Thank you once more you made my birthday very special.

First night in NY, last minute booked with theatre show Frozen, this is a nice posh restaurant, great service, 3 course meal, the steak was excellent, highly recommend, even the hotel concierge mentioned it.

Absolutely fantastic. We had the petite filet and the barsino. Both were out of this world. The steak was cooked perfectly and the fish was excellent. The service and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and we will be back!!

The staff was amazing mangers are always so attentive make sure you don't need anything. The bar staff is amazing I can't think of a bad thing to say about this place .

This is a very nice steakhouse with generous portions and really nice cook and flavor on the steaks. The service was quite good. They got off to a slightly slow start but once orders were placed, all went very well and timely. Excellent wines. No cocktails/ hard liquor due to proximity to a church ( NY ordinance) We were there for a family birthday and the manager very generously comped dessert and port which we appreciated very much. It is pricey which we didn't mind and thought was worth it, but if you're on a tight budget, this could be prohibitive. We would recommend without reservation.

Visited whilst in NYC for a dinner with the family. We didnt have a booking but we were shown to a table immediately. Very attentive and lovely friendly staff. The menu had a good choice, we all opted for steaks and mine was perfectly cooked as i asked (Filet - medium). We ordered a few sides which were great size portions. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and had great service. Would definitely recommend and re visit.

I was in the mood for a Steak and a stiff drink after a multiple city trip for work when I arrived in NYC. My concierge recommended Empire Steak House, which was a sort walk from my hotel. Arriving late to the city, I had to dine alone. Got a bar table by the open doors. A cool night in NY, dining outside is must.. Ordered a Manhattan and the surf and turf. Medium rare. Steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was huge 10oz! with a tasty glass of Malbec to go with the meal. Had a side of creamed spinach, yummy. A delicious meal, GREAT attentive service, from my waiter. I will return with friends, and dine in the main dining room.

We had pasta with chicken in tomato sauce and burger and fries. Both meals ok but not special. Very expensive ok food. And a tip that is assumed not given

Good points: service was swift. Salad was dressed nicely. Bad points: server wore his mask as a mouth/chin strap. Not good. Tomato chunks on salad were just a red item. Horrid tomatoes. Bread served is an embarrassment. Poor quality and stale, as well. Restaurant Week the problem? Does management think this meal would entice me to return? Never. Salmon was prepared well and a good size portion. Broccoli was ample and fine. The other side: instant mashed potatoes? Instant? Simply insane and unacceptable. Chicken parm was certainly a pre-breaded, chicken slab. Not a pounded fresh chicken breast. Pasta and sauce were fine. It made me wonder if there is an Executive Chef checking anything served. Then the final straw: there is no bathroom in the restaurant and instead you're directed to the attached hotel's one-for-all restroom. Outrageous. I really felt cheated even at $21 per person. Go anywhere else. Stay away from this place.

Just a 15 minute walk from Central Park, this steakhouse has excellent food and great service. The desserts are also delicious. We returned several times. The personnel is outstanding.

This was the best steak I have eaten in many years! The service was first class and for Midtown New York, their prices were not bad, not cheap either, but several other restaurants in its class (e.g. Ruth Chris) cost even more and the service is not quite as good as Empire's! Not a place you are likely to frequent, but if you want to take your special someone out for a romantic dinner on a special occasion, I very highly recommend Empire Steakhouse, close to the intersection of 8th Avenue on W. 54 St.

Excellent restaurant with great atmosphere. Service was top notch. Food was some of the best ever had. Steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. Went for a pre-show dinner. Make sure you give yourself enough time to savor and enjoy all Empire has to offer.

A very busy restaurant on a Saturday night. We had booked three weeks earlier and still only managed a two person table stuck in a busy walk way. The service was reasonable and the food was good. But, for the price (just south of $300 for two people), should have been very special. So, albeit the good food, the ridicules prices (even by NYC standards) was not worth the trip.

I wasn’t expecting great quality since dinner was a part of a theather package. But we were very pleased by the service and quality of the food. Amazing availability of wines and whisky

Had a drink at the bar first then went onto dine in the restaurant. From the moment we entered the bar to the time we left the staff weer very attentive and polite. It was the best dinning experience we had while in New York. I had the bone on ribeye and the moment I took the first bite it was like WOW. The best steak I’ve tasted cooked and seasoned to perfection. Would highly recommend

I was in town to see the Tina Turner musical and we ate here the night before (Valentines) The waiter was very nice and provided excellent service. The food was amazing I had the steak and lobster, it was cooked to perfection. And we shared the creamed spinach (deliciosoooogood!).

Lovely restaurant for our Christmas Day Meal. The service is outstanding, so friendly, welcoming, and professional. The food is gorgeous, very generous portions we enjoyed 3 courses each, the Canadian bacon starter was delicious, and I highly recommend the fillet steak, it’s perfectly cooked to how you would like and it’s like cutting butter so soft and tender. We would definitely dine again with a return to New York. Thank you for a lovely Christmas evening.

Best dining experience we've had in NYC; we had to go back a second night. The food is top quality and cooked to perfection. The steaks are perfect! Really good mashed potatoes (like mom made). Calamari was light and crispy. The chicken parm was huge with a fruity sauce. The cheese cake was light and creamy; the vanilla ice cream was excellent. Add to that manager, Albert, runs a great ship, be sure to have Artie be your server. He is an attentive, courteous professional. But all staff are good. The atmosphere is very pleasant for dinner; good music played at a chat friendly level.

It was again our first choice during our short stay in New York! We were again completely satisfied with the service, the atmosphere and the very good food. Also the Pino Grigio was the right choice! Well chilled and aromatic!👍🏻 Recommended: Crab Cake, Lobster Bisque and Onion Soup as a starter. Main courses: Filet Mignon, Lobster Ravioli and Penne Bolognese 🍝 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service from all staff excellent, especially Bojana on the last night! Also the manager very friendly and helpful. We called in Empire Steak House for a family meal. The staff we’re highly attentive taking our coats upon arrival before taking us through into the beautiful restaurant. Our steaks were cooked to perfection best steaks in NYC. The wine list was comprehensive with a great selection. When we are next In NYC we will definitely be back.

Nice but... not what I was expecting for the location and price range. old fashioned, the waiter was distracted, there are much better restaurants in the neighborhood for the same money.

Very warm welcome even without reservation. Good advice for meat and wine. The meat was delicious (very expensive too), the portion of fries to share was tiny. The cheesecake is excellent!

We’ve been staying at the adjoining Hilton Garden Inn and thought we’d have a meal on site on Thursday. What a mistake. We came in from the hotel entrance and told them we were staying there to qualify for a 15% discount we’d been told about when we checked in. The staff directed us to the tall bar stools which for a 75 year old father in law with a stick was clearly going to be unsuitable. We asked to sit at the proper tables and they allowed this but then gave us the a la carte menu which is eye wateringly expensive. We asked if we could select from the bar menu as father in law is not steady on bar stools and they said ‘yes, ok’. So far, so good. From here on it went rapidly downhill. The Bloody Mary I ordered was had so much pepper in it it was undrinkable. My wife’s niece ordered a steak quesadilla but was served a chicken one. Eventually she got a steak one but by then the rest of us had finished our meal so we didn’t get to eat together. Anyway, we had three mini steak burgers with cheese (which we didn’t get) plus fries and a rum and coke and two house cocktails. Total cost? Would you believe $290? That’s about £240 at current rates. My wife wasn’t happy but settled the bill. When I questioned it this morning it turned out that we didn’t get the 15% discount as we didn’t give the waiter the card that had it written on. A wafer thin excuse if ever I’ve heard one. Basically they didn’t want to know and I was shown the door. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE VERY DEEP POCKETS! They will rip you off and probably get your order wrong. Never again.

We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. First, the waiter was rude throughout our visit. My nephew ordered a salad with some chicken, but we were charged for two separate meals, and the salad alone cost $65, which was surprising and not clearly explained. They also brought me a glass of Chianti but did not pour it at the table, so I have no way of knowing if it was actually Chianti—I’m not even sure that’s what I was served, as it looked more like a house wine. Overall, the service and transparency were very poor, and the experience did not match the prices charged.

We went on a recent Wednesday evening just before the big Covid spike. We had a reservation for later but were early. We were seated right away and the dining room had very few people. Our waiter took our order quickly, brought our drinks and bread soon. Our food was served soon and how delicious it was! I had a bone-in ribeye, seasoned and cooked to perfection. My companion had a filet that was also cooked exactly right. Both servings were huge! The broccoli was steamed just right. BUT after our food was served we never saw our server again. No check on how things were, no more wine, he ghosted us. I finally flagged down the host and he had someone bring us more drinks. Unforgivable service lapses for this type of restaurant.

My daughter grabbed the buffet, my wife and I had egg white omelets. All of it was delicious! Great portions & a good value for the price! The atmosphere is very nice and the staff was great!

We were welcomed warmly as returning customers and given a comfortable table away from the crowds. We often order the pre-theatre special and we did again this evening. Attentive service and wonderful food from the delicious bread continuing on to the fine Caesar salad, melt-in-your mouth filet mignon, and ending with great cheesecake. One of our favorites!

The staff is so nice and accommodating! There's something for everyone on the menu from (pinching pennies - balling out). I had the Branzino two days in a row. So Good! I have also eaten the Cowboy Ribeye and it was amazing. Nantia, Vanessa, Albert, the other female bartender, and the whole staff are awesome!

The best time in NYC for dinner was fantasist, highly recommended the steak for 2 but it could feed 3 or 4 as they are big servings.

This was one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever eaten at. There was a party of about 12 people near my table and the occupants were talking (yelling) so loudly that I could barely hear my companion. Also, the food was way, way overpriced.

Amazing meal. Had the Canadian bacon, Empires hot (antipasto) platter, and Cesar salad to start. Main course was the Emperor Steak for Two. Somewhat like a porterhouse except this consisted of sirloin and chateaubriand (a more tender cut of filet). Cooked to perfection and very tender. Quite impressive. Had the home fries and macaroni and cheese as sides. Got to say I really liked the Mac and cheese (sort of looked like Kraft but tasted 100 times better). Service was impeccable. Orlando was a fantastic server and Albert the manager was friendly and attentive.

We had an amazing experience visiting this restaurant with our family. The food was great! We ordered three steaks, and they were all deliciously cooked to perfection. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The veggies and mushrooms were also excellent! The staff was friendly and even helped us with our warm clothes.

Food was absolutely beautiful! They squeezed us in last minute as we couldn’t get to the restaurant we’d booked due to road closures. Lovely dining experience and beautifully decorated for new year. Servers were excellent and very friendly. Wonderful night and would def return again. Thank you for a lovely meal.

I've stayed in the neighboring hotel many times and finally decided to have dinner here. What a great experience, everyone from the wait staff to the server to the manager, Albert, were awesome! Could not have been more willing to please. The recommendation of the bone-in ribeye was the right call, cooked perfectly, flavor was wonderful. Bottom line was a great experience, could not be happier, will be a focus for our next business dinner.

Service spectacular. Our waiter was excellent along with Besmir, the manager. Food was delicious. We both had steak. Broccoli so so. However, the wine selection primarily for California Napa reds was exceptional. Thank you so muck for a wonderful evening.

I had wagyu steak...having wait more than 1 hour to be served, it is always nice to see before cooking , nevertheless it was cooked too much (burned) and overall with a beer it cost me 290 Dollars. What a shame !!!

This establishment in the Hilton Garden Inn, gave me a superb breakfast every morning of my stay. They have a well provisioned bar. In addition to having a menu featuring prime steaks, they also have a bar menu featuring an 8 oz prime filet for much less than you would expect to pay in NYC. The restaurant manager Albert was cordial and made me feel at home.

My wife's 70th birthday was during our stay in NYC. Our son who is to work in DC spent 3 days with us and took us to the Empire. The meal was an experience from start to finish. The service was superb as was the meal in its entirety.

This is our 1st time here and in New York. Heard rave reviews on Tik Tok and YouTube... However, truth behold - HORRIBLE service and food. Would not come here again. The service by the waitstaff was horrible - ignored us all throughout the dinner. Had to keep asking for drinks. FOOD was the same HORRIBLE - better at a chain and would be cheaper too... POOR quality. - Double Lamb Chops - was probably the best overall. - Bone-in T-Bone - ordered medium. Came out well with lots over hot butter which probably made it well and it was already cut up. :( :( - Chilean Sea Bass. Came out dry and overcooked but it was wet. - Prime Rib - ordered Medium Rare. Came out Rare. waited 5-mins to get the waiter's attention. Mentioned that ordered Medium Rare. Came out Well - waiter left without asking to have it checked. waited at least 10-mins to get the waiter. At this point - chose not to get another entree. Nothing from the waiter or manager except that entrée was taken off the bill. :( :(

Good meat, medium steak, for me not interesting because evening before NYC Marathon but otherwise good wines

Celebrated my niece’s 30th birthday with her kids and other relatives at Empire Steak House-East. The food, drinks, service and ambiance was great. They went above and beyond to cater to our needs which made the dining experience more enjoyable and memorable.

The food was very bland, very unambitious. Although the ingredients probably were of high quality, the end result was disappointing. The staff did their best, but they could not make up for the gap between price and end result.

Dined in the restaurant once and ate at the bar a couple of times as the restaurant is attached to the hotel we were staying at. Very stylish restaurant and lovely atmosphere, a bit pricey but then again what isn't in New York!

The Wagyu steak was the best. Done perfectly as was the grilled Branzino. The Canadian bacon was superb. Excellent selection of wine and the customer service was excellent.

We only came for cocktails but the service and drinks were great and reasonably priced. We sat on a table by the bar and the atmosphere was also lovely.

First, I need to preface this was a Thanksgiving dinner. It is almost always the case that holiday dinners (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve etc) there is a usual penalty the diner takes in quality and elevated price. It is not a criticism of Empire Steak House, just how things work in the industry to set the context. With that stated and considered, the overall meal was better than I expected. My only real criticism regarding the food was the pumpkin soup was a little thin. We each had filet mignon. They were well prepared and of good quantity and quality. Staff were accommodating and friendly. We even received a little complimentary port after dessert, which was a nice gesture. We had the set Thanksgiving menu which gave you multiple choices for starter, principal plate, and dessert. We had the pumpkin soup and calamari to start (see prior comments on the soup. The fried calamari was fine). We both found the vegetables well prepared that went with our steaks. For dessert, the pumpkin pie was tasty and well portioned along with the sorbet. In addition to the above food, we had three glasses of wine. The total price with tax and 20% tip was $365. All in all this was a good value. We may return. Even though we generally don't go out for steak very often, this may be a safer bet in the theater district since the ingredients at Empire Steak House seem to be of good quality and charming service.

If we lived in New York this would be our go-to steak house (we live in Boston). This was our second time here and it did not disappoint. The onion soup is perfect: intense and not salty. The meat is top quality (flavorful, tender). Sides are excellent. Bartender makes a good old fashioned cocktail. Service was courteous and efficient. Decor upscale but nothing unique. Portions are enormous. Gigantic. Cooking is to order: medium rare is medium rare. Prices are high but what you would expect in a mid-town Manhattan steak house and you get full value for your money. My only suggestion would be for cook to go lighter on the seasoning. My rib eye had terrific flavor and the amount of seasoning competed with it rather than enhanced it. The meat here is wonderful; the cook should trust it and not think he has to doctor it up so much.

My hubby and I both tried the ribeye dinner while staying at the attached Hilton Garden Inn Central Park South. Both meals combined were over $100.00. While we don't mind that price tag the steaks were not good. We like our steaks medium well and well done, and to this establishment that meant burnt. I could have gone to Applebees and got a better steak. Our sides, french fries and salad where great though.

Me and my wife were in town for a holiday getaway in Manhattan from Arizona. Had been looking for a great steak house. Empire Steak House is right next to our hotel. We decided to stop by for dinner. It was an Amazing experience Ardi and Roberto gave us an excellent experience. The Emperor steak was Amazing. You have to go to this steakhouse you won't regret it.

We enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at Empire Steak. Beautiful decor that reminds of an a time gone by - Art Deco perhaps with the impressive chandelier and high back booths. Tables are spread apart and the lighting & music were at perfect levels. Service was attentive and efficient. Our steaks came sizzling and grilled to perfection. The peppercorn sauce was a perfect complement to the filet mignon. We shared a jumbo baked potato which is not to be missed. For dessert we couldn’t resist the lavender crème brûlée. It exceeded our server’s description. Empire also has an excellent wine list. Highly recommend Empire Steak for an excellent steak in mid-town.

As we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, on W54th, the restaurant is right next door! Service was good, the food was great. Be under no illusion, this is a quality steak restaurant and that is reflected in the price. Be assured that the meal will be high quality as such. Albert, the concierge, was generous enough to pop into the hotel and retrieve the voucher required for the discount, offered for hotel guests.

After been told by the cab driver the restaurant was closed, I told him to take us as I had my booking confirmed. Was quite busy but seated promptly. I had the lobster bisque, scrumptious. Steak and asparagus to follow. My sister had the chicken with a side of pasta. Steak was perfect though the pasta wAs rather dry and tasteless. We had a glass of wine and a cider then a bottle of wine, the check came to over $250, very expensive and not really worth that kind of money.

We were seated right away, the waiter was at our table immediately and took our drink order my husbands martini was very disappointing he said was worse he ever had. We both ordered the filet, which was cooked to my liking medium rare but it had no taste I really had to pile on the salt. My baked potato was still hard and not very warm the butter would not even melt. Sauté spinach was very nice. We both felt very rushed with the dinner, was very expensive.

Great location with a very tasty menu.bbthe food was served hot and plentiful. The wait staff were there to meet our needs. We ate before a show and all was positive.

We went to this restaurant during restaurant week. Three of us had the steak three course and one had octopus. Every bite of the meal was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our waiter was excellent. We had to work around celiac for one person and he made the correct suggestions and accommodations. We have been to this restaurant before and have not been disappointed.

We visited the Empire Steak House in February during restaurant week as they offered one of the best selections. We were greeted with a smile and offered our choice for a table as it was still early. Our server, Ardian, promptly greeted us, offered drinks and explained all the options with suggestions. He was friendly, efficient and checked in with us as needed. It was nice to dine at a restaurant where your silverware is changed each course. It is not common today to get that style of service. Overall the food was good, cooked to temperature and flavorful. We did order the Empire Hot platter, off the main menu, and it was the only disappointment. It had 1 shrimp, maybe six stuffed clams and six stuffed mushrooms. For $30 it felt expensive for what it offered. My wife's salmon was cooked perfectly and flavorful as was my NY strip. Overall it was a pleasant evening with good food and excellent service by Ardian.

I Think the porterhouse steak for two was enough for three person. And the quality & flavor of the meat was excellent.

Too expensive in relation to the dishes served. Meat still cold in the center. The prices are abusive. Setting not that special and also a lot of cinema to justify the spicy note. Very noisy room. I do not recommend

Shared a starter- crab cakes which were lovely. We ordered a fillet and a ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection. The hand cooked fries were brilliant too. Ordered a nice bottle of wine on recommendation of waiter- $80 is too much for a bottle I felt. Overall the meal was great but way too much- we were staying in a hotel so no use to box up the leftovers. Total bill was $330 which is a lot compared to UK and seems very wasteful when you have left half the food.

Did not disappoint. Great food and service. From the manager to the waiting staff our waiter was Elvon (I hope I have his name correct) he had not worked there very long but stood out to be attentive and professional. Beautifully cooked fillet. Lovely atmosphere and a special treat for the birthday girl which they not charge for. This will be our special restaurant when we return.

Never have I been made to feel more unwelcome in my life! The front of house aka director of first impressions makes a judgement on you based on what you are wearing . We were sat outside - which is on the sidewalk effectively next to a Hilton garden reception doorway . This is not a cheap place to eat but sure feels it sat outside there! Waiter didn’t listen to our order and failed to bring starters so from start to finish not a pleasant experience at all . My tip to all staff is do not judge your clients by what they are wearing , you never know who you are serving ! Food on the other hand was excellent but one star is based on the overall awful experience , never again at this restaurant or chain , the company need to conduct a mystery shop here to find out what truly happens , no wonder inside was dead !

We elected to eat at Empire State house on Valentines while in NY. It was out of this world! The food was amazing, and believe it or not, the people were better. Tatiana, Leann, and Ben. Wonderful!

Popped into this restaurant (without a reservation) as it was on the same street as our Theatre booking. Was lively for a pre-theatre crowd, clean and staff seemed genuinely friendly. We elected for the burger and fries main course given our time restriction. Nothing fancy but just nicely presented, good, wholesome fare. A great pre-theatre meal. To our surprise, when the cheque arrived it revealed that there was a two for one offer so we ended up paying half of what we expected. Excellent value in NYC!

Very nice environment, I liked the cozy light and nice music background. Waiters have been so caring and nice, thank you guys. Good selection of wines, also on glass. Food was excellent. So if you like steak, wine and nice environment, you are on the right place!

We had the branzino, crab cakes and NY cheese cake. The food was excellent and we were impressed with Oliver, our server, who was both warm and attentive. They have an amazing selection of wines.

My filet was underdone. Sent it back and it was a black rock. Seemed like the chef was angry. Spinach was over salted. Other steaks over salted. Just awful. $800 bill.

I had never heard of this steakhouse before, but i went to see a show across the street and didn't want to walk around the city in the cold weather... We were greeted by a friendly hostess and was given a choice of where in the restaurant we would like to sit. We chose the rear room.... so pretty and cozy on a cold day... We had a cocktail and were never rushed by our wonderful waiter Alvaro(who I highly recommend) and our dinner was served hot and perfectly seasoned, my filet was melt in your mouth!!! We had the delicious tiramisu which was homemade. And after dinner the manager Roberto came over and said that our desert was on the house and asked if we would also like a limoncello, of course we obliged.. it was just a lovely experience all around.. i would highly recommend this jewel on west 54th.....

for the first time visiting. we based our decision on the positive reviews online. I was there celebrating my daughters 13th bday with 3 teens total and my wife. from the start the waiter was so nice and accommodating. as my wife being vegetarian, they made a special plate for her and the meat we ordered was the porterhouse. wow it came sizzling and 3staff plus the manager came out to explain the food and serve a little of everything with the sides on our plate. we were taken back by the extra white glove treatment. lastly, they came to sing happy bday to my daughter and the manager brings us the candle and says "we keep the candles with her name on it so that next time you come back we have her very own candle here already"...just phenomenal. will go back 100%

Fancy (expensive) delicious NY meal! I had Bronx Tail - big lobster tail with other seafood over homemade pasta! Wife had filet mignon and finished it off with NY cheese cake. Both were amazing!

We visited Empire over several nights on our stay in NYC. The bar team are exceptional - they don’t forget a face or a drink. Many a happy happy hour spent absorbing the atmosphere while enjoying the wine/beer list on offer. Generous pours for those Aussie travellers used to ‘minimal Aussie glasses of wine’. The two ladies behind the bar (Tatjana and Neda) are amazing and oh so friendly. Thank you so much!!!! We had dinner here on Christmas night and it was hands down the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Portions were huge - couldn’t finish the dessert which we took to the room. The wait staff were fabulous - all round a great nights in this restaurant. We had another meal here a few nights later and once agin the dishes and set or were superb. Not overly priced for what you get - and the service is exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant - it’s family friendly (we travelled with older teens but have seen young children here). We will definitely be back.

I ordered a nice steak dinner online from this restaurant, as was staying at the hotel where it is located. I ordered the lobster bisque, 8oz fillet, and steamed lobster. All were very good, but the lobster bisque was this star of the show. Also both the fillet and lobster were cooked perfectly (not over or under cooked). While be being pricey (not for NYC though) this eatery was good and I would order from again.

I visited the Empire Steak House during my New Year vacation in New York. The place was great and the staff was very polite and helpful. We tried nearly all the steaks and they were AMAZING. I highly recommend trying New York Strip there. It was the best steak I have ever eaten!

We decided on take out from Empire Steak House because it was the closest steak house to our hotel. Often hotel restaurants offer mediocre food, but we loved our dinner. Our meal consisted of a filet mignon, cooked to perfection. I just sampled a small bite and it was phenomenal. The lobster bisque was devoured quickly because it was so richly flavored. The seafood pasta dish was chock full of calamari, salmon, shrimp and clams. It was a little salty but the quantity and flavor more than compensated. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. We highly recommend!

We were happy to get a reservation anywhere on a busy Manhattan night during the holiday season, as we had not planned ahead. All of our fave steakhouses were filled, so we were intrigued to try Empire. The only similarity to our other fave steakhouses (Keen's, Palm, Del Frisco's, etc... ) was the pricing. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was very friendly (not throwing a waiter under the bus... he was very nice!) but the quality we expect at this price-point was just not there. Examples: they wouldn't make me a Gimlet with fresh lime juice... no explanation, just... no. Tell me you are out of limes or something... but... no? They were also not able to make Caesar salad, because of the Romaine lettuce recall, but I have to imagine other restaurants would have gotten some from elsewhere. Our $65 steak arrived correctly cooked, but cold to the touch, as if it had been sitting quite a while before it was delivered. We saw other patrons receive sizzling steaks... not so for us. The bacon appetizer, which we order everywhere, was not as charred or flavorful as we would expect. The creamed spinach was pretty good. My daughter had a $15 plate of fries and also the sliders, all of which were just meh. The worst situation, of course, was only one bathroom being available in a crowded hotel lobby... which was dirty and not stocked. This is a high end restaurant? No, it's the restaurant/bar of a Hilton Garden Inn, trying to compete with the big boys. We are not quick to trash a place... maybe it was an off night? But I read the glowing reviews here and I can't imagine that the people who wrote them have been to a good steakhouse before.

My fiancee lives in NYC and her apartment is next door to this gorgeous restaurant. Staff are friendly, the decor is lush and the food is fantastic! A great range of alcohol too. I usually sit at the bar and eat as I just have nothing but time in my hands but time flies here. Complimentary wi-fi and convenient USB charging too! Just lovely and the music selection is great. Can't praise this place enough... The staff, managers and even the owners remember you and treat you so well! Every restaurant in Midtown could learn a trick or two from this place! The lunchtime wagyu burger is a great deal too!

We had dinner here with our two teenage sons and had a beautifully done Porterhouse Steak. Mac ‘n Cheese and Spinach were also good. The fries tasted well, but could be more crispy for our taste. The atmosphere was good. However, we were seated next to the women’s bathroom and the slamming door was very annoying. We mentioned it to the waiter, but he did not react on it. Something needs to be done about that door, or the tables next to it should not be used. Furthermore, I do not like that the restaurant automatically adds 20% tip to the bill. The waiter points it out and says that it can be removed. Of course it can. However, that is not the point. The point is that it is rude to just add it to the bill. If you are confident about your service you should be brave enough to let the guests set the tip themselves. No need to do it for them!

The manager Roberto was the most accommodation and hospital man I’ve ever met! He is a reason to go to the fabulous amazing restaurant !! Great food but even better service !!

We arrived into town quite exhausted and our first priority was to eat a nice quiet dinner. This restaurant is next door to a Hilton so very convenient. First impression - exceptional staff attention, very polite, nice and trying to react to us immediately. We were not on a steak mission and I ordered a fresh pasta dish with bolognese sauce and it was excellent. My husband ordered a fish dish and also said he liked it very much, bread served was very fresh, great salad, and professional friendly bar service, etc. It may be pricey compared to other higher ranking type steak houses but if you are looking for a very good overall meal with great service, I think this was a great find. We ate there twice in our weekend due to convenience to hotel. Also seating facing the street in the bar area is fun and it wasn't overcrowded. Pricey but the experience and food was fine by us.

Absolutely everything we could have wanted. Great food, kind service and even a unique dessert. Other than the bread ( kinda meh), the strip was cooked perfectly. Decorated for Christmas, Empire was EXACTLY what we wanted for our weekend in Manhattan.

Lovely old charm atmosphere. Amazing staff. Musicians working amongst the tables. Food was fabulous, nothing was a trouble.

Once we arrived and were seated, we glanced around to see people wearing baseball caps, beanie hats, sports jerseys eating dinner one handed with a phone up to their ear in their other hand. We felt a bit embarrassed and overdressed as dress code is smart/business. They don’t have a full liquor licence and can only offer beer or wine. Considering their prices they want to charge we promptly left. We went back to Gallaghers Steakhouse on 52nd Street where the clientele, atmosphere and service was exemplary, exactly what you expect from a higher end Steakhouse.

My daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous steak dinner after a Broadway matinee. We started with oysters, then shared the filet for two and mixed green salad. The steak was fantastic! We took our waiter's recommendation of tiramisu for dessert and it was wonderful. The staff was attentive and professional.

A friend recommended me this place so I had to check it out! Not only was the staff super attentive and welcoming, but the food was great as well, Absolutely loved the Bar area with white marble. I will definitely be coming back.

We decided to try this restaurant during restaurant week! This little gem was not bad at all. We were able to make reservations via Open table. Upon arrival we were greeted pleasantly. They had indoor and outdoor dining. We sat inside near the bar. The food was good but of course smaller portions then use too. While being serviced the restaurant ran out of cranberry juice and Hennessy (cognac). The drinks could have been better but it was not a restaurant for drinks specifically.

It was my second time to NY and my second time to this restaurant and once again exceptional service and food. Highly recommend. It was my birthday and the manager came and gave me a bottle of wine to take with me which was fabulous of him.
