We were fortunate to dine with some Chinese friends who live in NYC. They ordered for us, so we got to taste many different dishes. I thought the food was good, and our friends thought it was average. I did like the specialty, the dumplings. The service was reasonably fast for a family restaurant. We decided on a bottle of wine, which they listed on the menu for $48, so I assumed it would be a decent bottle. I should have asked. It was a $10 bottle of Bogle. Because we were with friends, I did not object. But be warned that the $48 bottle of wine is a cheap supermarket variety.

Very simple furnished restaurant. Attentive, family service. And excellent Shanghai cuisine! We had Chow Funk and Lo Mein with XO Sauce. Both were EXCELLENT!

Fantastic dumplings. Fast Service. Great value. Staying in NYC for the holidays and we have already eaten there twice!

Wonderful lunch -- dumplings were indeed a highlight (we chose spinach and shrimp), but so was the sizzling eggplant in garlic sauce. Added bonus was an impromptu lesson from the staff in how to deal with sticky dumplings. No frills but truly superb

I was living in NYC and went to this restaurant quite often when it was at the Chinatown 20 yes ago. Can’t believe to find it again at this new midtown location this time! The food is still good as before and I even have found the same waitress who worked at the previous place.

Not just serving dumplings as the name might imply, they have a full menu. There is, of course, a large selection of dumplings that include their wonderful pork soup dumplings or Xio Long Bao. I highly recommend them. We ordered those plus scallion pancakes as appetizers, hot and sour soup (very good), Lo Mein, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chicken with Broccoli (served in a delicious white sauce). The non-noodle dishes came with rice. We expected to have leftovers to bring home and we did. We left full and very satisfied with our meal. They have a full page of vegetarian options and can alter spice to your taste. If you want to save a bit of money, go there for lunch. Their lunch specials are a great deal and are under $11. They include a main course, fried rice, spicy cold noodles, and soup. I would still get some dumplings for the table to share though since they are, as the name implies, Excellent!
