We stumbled upon this place today when several places nearby were busy. Walked right in with a group of 7 for a late lunch. The food was better than most places with bar food. Wraps, salads and sandwiches with a nice appetizer menu. Will definitely go back!

We stopped by this little pub for a drink as we walked the streets of New York. I must say it was extremely delightful. The hostess sat the 6 of us in the back lounge that was filled with couches and club chairs. The wait staff was very attentive. Drink prices were not too expensive and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Great little spot.

I came here with a friend when we were in town for a conference on the recommendation of one of the concierges as a nearby hotel. I had explicitly asked for someplace affordable after having been appalled by the price of beverages at one of our receptions. This place did not disappoint. The wine on special was a Rosé for $7 and the salad I had was very well priced for the size. It was reasonably quiet when we arrived but it filled up quite a bit later in the night (around 10-11pm). Our server was fabulous but she really shouldn't have been the only person covering our section! it was faaaar too large for one person once it got that busy!! (she, of course, still did an excellent job, so this is not at all a point of criticism about her) I would happily come back here for drinks and appetizers with friends.

Quality food, excellent atmosphere! Tasted mini burger and mini cuban, calamari and chicken dumpling ... so good! Best sticky fries in NY!

We stopped in here after a long day of walking outside in the cold and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The service was nice, the appetizer recommendations were delicious, the drink specials were good. We had the mini chicken tacos and the warm pretzel bites and both were very good. The people next to us had a few complaints about the time is took for their food, but for a snack and a drink it was perfect!

I attended a convention at the Sheraton and had to grab a quick lunch. I discovered Faces and Names on the side street. It's basically a spacious bar but with an excellent small food menu, making it a great lunch stop. We had the cajun chicken salad and cobb salad, both in seemingly bottomless bowls and very delish! The decor is comfy with big leather chairs and booths. The name refers to the photos of old movie stars and celebs on the walls; we had the booth with Lana Turner looking down. We didn't have drinks, but will for the next visit. No decaf coffee so we had herbal tea. The menu offered burgers and sandwiches, too. We split the excellent black and white cake dessert. Avoid the crowded "pubs"along 7th Ave near the hotel with lousy, overpriced food and, no offense, tourists. My only suggestion is to lower the loud music, but you have to expect that in a bar.

This was the perfect choice to have a nice lunch without breaking the budget and they have TVs to watch the game!

This was a very nice stop for a late lunch while in NYC at a professional conference. I'm often travelling solo and find that restaurants can be very hit and miss on how they handle single guests, fortunately this place was a hit. It wasn't crowded when I came about 2:00pm on a mid-week in January, so the pleasant server offered me a seat near the fireplace and I enjoyed a very relaxed meal. The Chicken Caesar was very well done and service as attentive without being pushy. I suspect it can get crowded at times, but for me it was a very good choice.

On a business trip to NYC, I needed a place to grab a quick dinner and a drink. Faces and Names happened to be close by so I tried it out and was not disappointed. Sat down at the crowded bar at 6:00 PM on a Tuesday and had a water, a menu, and a beer within 2 minutes. The bartender was great, took my order quickly and checked in on me several times to refill my water and get me another drink. Seems like a popular happy hour place and despite how busy it was the service was perfect. Also perfect was my burger, cooked as requested to medium. Great food, great service, great drinks.

We went here for something different and were pleasantly surprised. The outside was average but once inside, it was very cosy, well designed (loved the central bar) and the paintings were very quirky which we liked for a change. Not only this but the service was probably the best we’ve ever received in New York. (Young man, wait staff and older middle aged man, manager maybe?) the food was also very good. Compliments to the chef! Definitely try this place if you’re in the area!

I went here with some friends on a Friday night for happy hour. I would definitely recommend reserving a table if you plan to eat or be there for a while, as it was pretty packed at the bar near the door when I arrived around 5:45pm. The cocktails and rose I had were both good, as was the Caesar salad wrap. The music was a little loud so that made talking a little hard and the it was pretty dim with only 1 candle on the table for 4 people, so you may have to squint to read. The portraits on the wall are great, fun to look at. Would return for happy hour drinks.

We stayed at a hotel nearby, and when checking in and inquiring about a good place to go, the staff member recommended Faces and Names. It did not disappoint! The wine list had a good selection of wines by the glass, and the food was delicious! We ordered a caprese salad and shared the beef sliders. I think they were the best sliders I have ever had! The following night, during the major power outage, we noticed that many patios were closing down. So, we wandered over to Faces and Names to see if they were serving any cold drinks. The were offering beer for one dollar each! All of their draft selections were available for $1! We scored a lovely table on the patio, and the server was constantly checking on us to make sure our glasses weren't empty! We loved this place so much that we even stopped in for a drink on our third and final night of our weekend getaway. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cool place with a great vibe.

We arrived on time to our reservations finally got seated in the back very loud and dark. We sat for over ten minutes no one came over to ask if we wanted anything. We walked out and the sad part was Not one person working there noticed! Went to Del Frisco’s instead a much better choice

The interior is very nice - classy, amazing artwork depicting celebrities. Service was very above average and we had no problem finding a lounge table after seeing a show. We only ordered desserts, and they were very disappointing. Red velvet cake and the chocolate peanut butter explosion. They tasted like they had been sitting in the fridge for a long time - dried out and not special in any way. At least they were inexpensive - about $7 each.

Good food, service and atmosphere. Had the wings, pork sandwiches things and spring rolls and it was all scrummy. Not too loud and the service was great. Recommend this place.

The first time we visited was on a Friday evening and luckily we had booked a table as we planned to have some food while there. Although it was busy , the staff were very helpful and friendly (Thanks Jayne!) and the drinks and food took no time at all to be brought to our table. The drinks were reasonably priced and food was delicious , and as it was located close to our hotel we found ourselves dropping in on a few evening after a hectic day to relax and unwind . We would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the neighborhood.

Our hotel concierge pointed us to this pub as a good local place for a quick bite and drinks (vs. going to one of the many chain restaurants in the area). The waitstaff were very friendly and efficient. it was perfect for a quick late evening meal.

Went for a few drinks after dinner after a recommendation from coworker. Staff was extremely friendly and beer selection was good. The pictures are very interesting and make the atmosphere different. But enjoyable. Would definitely go again.

Good place for a work happy hour meeting. Comfortable, good service, good music but not so loud that you can't have a work meeting. The chicken tacos were some of the best appetizers I've had.

This pub/restaurant id located 5 minutes walk away from the Moma. The staff is very friendly and the food is very good but not overpriced. A nice choice if you want to have a drink/food before/after visiting the Moma.

We had a very good night here during the blackout on 13th July. They served $1 beers that stayed cold until the power was restored around 1030pm. The service was excellent and it was convenient to our Hotel next door which had no dining or drinking facilities during our stay

We have been going to Faces and Names for years and years, a must-do every NYC visit! Totally casual, great service, friendly staff and excellent food - we have never gone wrong with anything we've ordered from the menu, whether appetizers or mains. Lovely fireplace is used in the rear room during colder months, a very nice touch! Best of all, the prices are inexpensive for the quality and quantity of their food, rare in NYC. Special hug to Annette, you gave us a wonderful evening there, can't wait to come back!

We needed a quiet table and lunch for six. We found decent food, choice, and a calm spot so that we could hear each other talk. I had a naked burger to have something gluten and dairy free. There were only a few other such choices. But they did give me what I asked for. My companions were also pleased. Some had salads, etc. Simple food well prepared.

Stopped in here for lunch out of convenience. Food was average and the place is run down. The chair I sat in had a broken arm and the seat was collapsed; why leave something like this in service? The table itself spun around like a lazy susan and we had to be very careful not to set it in motion with our knees during our lunch lest our drinks go flying, there was no way to lock it.

The arugula and prosciutto flatbread was delicious. Service was good and need to get here early because it will get busy as the late afternoon progresses.

We went here from a suggestion from someone we passed on the street. We loved it here, great cocktails and we purchased a cheese platter. The waiter was lovely and friendly and would definately return.

After a hot day spent on open bus tours I needed a treat by late afternoon. After safely depositing wife and daughter back in hotel I walked around the block and found this nice little bar. I ordered a Sam Adams Octoberfest which was quite nice. The very friendly and knowledgeable barmaid talked with me about their other beers and offered samples to try in small taster glasses, always the sign of a quality drinking establishment.i found a few excellent quality cask ales and will definitely visit again. Recommended.

We didn't mean to be here, but found it and loved it. The service was above and beyond, all with a smile. One of our party is a vegan (or fussy eater as we call her) but still service with a smile, great! Go there if you are here in midtown 🤡

If your looking for a lively joint with a great atmosphere, this is the place. It is next door to the London Hotel where we were staying & having had enough of the bar there & the fact we were hungry we decided to give it a try. on entering you could be put off by the massive TV screens showing football Etc, but no one was watching. Instead they were all engaged in excited conversation which gave the place a certain atmosphere. It was fascinating weaving through the lively diverse chatter. We had a meal, It was fantastic, Lovely helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble to make you feel welcome. And much much more reasonable than the hotel, but that's understandable

We visited Faces and Names last Saturday for a few afternoon cocktails and loved the place. The service was excellent from our bartender (Jane , I believe). Jane was very conversational, did not hover but was there when we needed something. She also provided great tips on other places in the area we should see. We did not order food but others said it was excellent. We wish we could have found this the first day in NYC. We will certainly be back!

We always go to Faces & Names when in NY. Great atmosphere, food is excellent and the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend.

The decadence cake was not the only reason we loved this place. It is a great atmosphere and good food and drink at reasonable prices. It is a bar, so don't expect a fancy restaurant, but do expect to have a great time.

Service and food were exceptional and reasonably priced. Very warm and friendly atmosphere with fireplace lit and terrific selection of music on their playlist. Spent three times as much for dinner the following night and didn't enjoy the experience half as much.

Fun idea with potraits around the dining/ bar area. Some cozy spots throughout the resturant or regular tables with a TV screen. Cocktails were well made - we also enjoyed the Creamsicle - thanks Andrea. By the way, Andrea was the perfect hostess/ waitress. All food was tasty including chicken tacos, pork buns and prosciutto salad.

We had just gotten in from a flight and needed to find some quick eats at 1am. This place was top notch. The servers were so friendly and the food was just delicious. We ordered several appetizers: chicken strips, chicken tacos, onion rings, french fries, potstickers, and fried calamari. My favorite was the calamari, it was so fresh and cooked so well they it melted in my mouth when I ate it. This was my first time to New York and this was the first place we ate. I was really impressed with the overall setting of this establishment.

Terrific bar near the park - terrific afterwork vibe with great service and a lively bartender! I will certainly use this venue as a meeting spot in the future.

This is a really fun bar in Midtown. Nice atmosphere, friendly waitresses and good drinks, although not all cocktails available are featured on the drink menu. Food was good. I had an excellent Salmon salad, and my family was pleasantly suprised by how good their food was too. Maybe just the hummus was too caked and thick. The bill was a bit high...wasnt expecting 250$ tip included! You'd think we had a feast! Would come back to this bar with friends, but I doubt it would be my 1st choice if I had to choose.

A very nice place with lots of draft beers and many more drinks . The food is good too and not too expensive which is something to consider in New York City.

Great place to go when you get those late night cravings. They don't close until 3am!! Get the wings!! We went 2 nights in a row just for the wings!! Drinks were okay, but still tasty.

This is the first bar we visited after travelling for 14 hrs after delays , we just dropped out bags in the hotel and went out looking for a place to get a drink and something to eat , we came across this bat just around the corner from our hotel !! Just what we needed. It looks small from the outside but is quite spacious inside and very welcoming and full of local new Yorkers so you can't get a better recommendation than that , we ordered a couple of cold beers and a Bombay sapphire and tonic , then the food , we got a buffalo chicken wrap , mini burgers and the best of all the chicken tacos , these were by far the best thing we ate while visiting NYC !! so when your in NYC make sure to visit this place you won't be disappointed, we went back at least 3 or 4 times again . Fab !!!

We stopped in for pre-dinner drinks. Nice big bar area - great place to meet up with friends. Window seating for people watching.

Stumbled upon this bar one night after dinner. Close to our hotel, so we thought why not. Sat at the table looking out on the sidewalk. Drinks we decent and staff was friendly.

Friendly and warm neighborhood pub . Great wine and beer selection as well as liquor . Menu is eclectic and quite nice . Stopped in on a rainy Sunday to watch the football game ....great find .

Just popped in for a quick drink, stayed for two and had some lovely bar snacks. Service was very pleasant and it was reasonably priced.

As a native New Yorker, I get asked by people where they should go when they visit the city. The first place I mention is Faces & Names. Incredible atmosphere, delightful decor, friendly staff, great cocktails, food, music....what more do you need? It oozes everything that is amazing about NYC. One word...GO!

This was our first and last stop of the trip, my boyfriend had researched bars near to our hotel as fans of craft beers, this was a must. Would recommend visiting and you can spend time trying to work out who's in the paintings on the walls.

Just love this place. Great atmosphere, lots of locals and people passing through. Alway find someone to chat to at the bar. Can highly recommend the martini’s! Strong and on point Favourite local NYC bar……again!

I have been to Faces & Names many, many times. It is my number one fallback in this hectic part of midtown, above Times Sq, but below Columbus Circle. It would be an excellent stop before or after a Broadway play or an event at Carnegie Hall. Basic drinks and a friendly atmosphere always. Best of all, they want you to enjoy yourself, so prices are below typical for the area. It's a bit hard to spot, just NE off 7th ave on 54st and above the fray and so it is mostly locals, but also a steady stream of visitors who have the good taste to find this midtown gem of a bar.

We made SEVERAL trips to Faces and Names. The service was wonderful. Loved the vibe. And the food and drink was enjoyable. It's a tapas-style menu which makes for great late night dining. Just a fun place to hang out if you're in midtown area.

Terrific late night food options. Nice atmosphere, good service, Art for viewing (say "hello" to Christopher Walken), and more than enough drink choices including beers. Definitely worth a stop or two while in The City!

Me and my mum went to this place after a day out, she told me she'd been here a few times on her trips to New York, it didn't disappoint I had a pint of Brooklyn lager and she had a Cosmo and we had some wings, loved the edgy vibe 💕

Good menu and comfortable venue for an informal night out. Very reasonable prices for good food. Friendly, nice.

Friendly staff, great location, you can sit and look out in the streets, have food and great paintings I the wall, great draft beer and cocktails and music

Really nice place in Midtown just off the 7th Avenue. I always go there when in NewYork and never been disappointed. There space inside, great burgers and salads and nice beers. It works as well with friends or for dining alone if you’re in New York for business. And on top it’s cheap compared to most other restaurants in the area and the staff is always pleasant. Definitely recommended.

Stayed in the London hotel next door, stopped in here frequently for late night drinks. Cool painting on wall.

We only come to NYC once or twice a year from VA. Faces and Names was a great stop for tapas and drinks! We made a game out of identifying the famous faces of the great artwork on the walls. Service was excellent!!! Only one staff member, plus an assistant service was timely! Wish I got her name, she was awesome tending to 4 tables and the bar. As far as food, we ordered appetizers. Pretzels, chicken tacos, shrimp tacos, and sliders. Arrived hot and very tasty. Too many good choices!! We’ll be back!

We went to Faces and Names on the recommendation of the staff at the Blakely Hotel. It's somewhere they like to go when they get off of work. What better recommendation could you ask for? We ordered appetizers only and drinks. They didn't skimp on the alcohol in the drinks at all. The chicken quesadillas were quite delicious , just the right amount of spiciness and a unique taste with the garlic mayo. The bowl of warm pretzel bites were just the thing to end of evening with. They were warm and the dipping sauce was just sweet enough. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, but comfortable. The staff was friendly and laid back, service was excellent. Our drinks didn't have a chance to get empty before we were asked if we wanted another. I'm looking forward to visiting there again.

This place is a must if you are in midtown. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is phenomenal. Had dinner with my wife and things were great but I could see having a few drinks with friends being even better. The prices are also very reasonable for Manhattan. $10 for wings, $6 beers and $15 for the best skirt steak I've ever had.

The worst treatment received in our lives. We were harassed from the moment we sat down. There was nothing we did that was right for them, they verbally abused us constantly. Would it be because we are Latino? Was it because we were laughing? Was it because we were happy? I would not recommend it at all, it is a place where not everyone is welcome, it depends on the liking of the staff who works there. We are even processing a complaint for harassment.

Burgers and salads with creativity. Artwork (photos, caricatures, paintings and more) of famous people will keep you entertained and coming back.

Cool vibe with amazing portrait art and plenty of places to sit with friends over drinks and appetizers. Walking distance to theater district.

I came here for a work event. The service was just ok. The drinks were good. The food was just ok. We had spring rolls, chicken fingers, and calamari. The location is good

Me and my partner called in to names and faces after a busy day sight seing and walking for a quick drink on the way back to our hotel. It was so good we ended up coming back the next day for an evening meal.

Excellent bar food. Sports TV so it was a little loud but the food was totally worth it. Get the Chicken Tacos appetizer!

First time for me. When we arrived, my friend and I were a little surprised due to it looking more like a lounge than a restaurant. But, it was cozy and the food was really good. My only complaint was that we were there at an 'odd' time for a very late lunch and were the only ones in there so since it felt more like a lounge, we felt kind of 'weird'... But, our waitress was great & very attentive. She wanted to seat us at a high table but I asked if we could have a 'normal' table since high tables hurt my my knees after a while. She immediately seated us at a table but it had lounge type chairs which just weren't as comfortable as sitting at a normal table to eat. Having said that, my burger was great & so were my onion rings so I would go there again.

You walked in for an afternoon drink prior to heading to dinner. We stopped in as it was close to our hotel. What a great place. The ambiance feels like a local lounge which a nice bar as well as table seating. The bartender, Jane, was superfriendly and provided great service. We only ordered pretzel bites were excellent but can't say much more about the food. Definitely a place to stop in for drinks and if we had more time in the city, we would return to try some bar food as well.

Went here on Friday evening for few drinks and sat by the bar. The owner of the place was sitting next to me with his friends. After some conversation he gave tour and told stories about the great paintings. Thumbs up for this place! 👍

Dry burger, greasy fries. Half the order we did not receive, just fine because the food is tasteless..

3rd visit here, every time I come to NY I call in here.. Cosmos are great, so are the wings, burgers and fries. Great relaxed vibe. Always enjoy my time here! Day or night! Def visit for my NY trip.

I have been going to this bar for over 10 years! And I must say that I had one of the worst confrontations with a staff member and manager that I've ever experienced. I will not be going back there! Beware of some of the staff as this could happen to you! We booked a table in the back for a large party on the Sunday of the NYC Marathon as the post-party meeting place. Service was slow from the beginning. There was a rather rude bust boy named Andres with a bad attitude. He left the door to the back open for like 10 mins right after my friends had just gotten food, so their food got cold. He then proceeded to knock into my chair with another chair and told me to move out of his way! I confronted him about being rude to the customers and he told me I should "watch myself". I mean really??? What nerve!! When we brought the issue up with the "manager (I believe Michael)" he didn't really say much but patted Andres on the back later, as to say "I got your back." Steer clear of this place! I hate rude staff... if you don't like your job... find another!

Brilliant bar close by to our hotel, has a great vibe and a huge selection of beers, food is tasty and menu has some great choices, open till 4am, we didn't stay that long, but it a great bar to relax and chill out before reaching home (hotel)

Not far from time square, good atmosphere, nice little seating area out the front. Reasonable prices friendly staff. All the boxes ✔️

We got old fashioned mango and vodka cranberry as drinks and mini chicken tacos and chicken club sandwiches. Both were awesome, bartender was great , she made great suggestions and excellent drinks

My wife and I walked from the Blakeley to this bar and restaurant tonight. We had a lovely cocktail and then a burger each with wine. Good service and food. Lively place, noisy and good atmosphere even for us oldies. Good value for money.

Fun Bar with coworkers! No Frills- just a basic pub. Not busy- and you can speak with out yelling...

With sunny weather the front windows are opened and while you’re in a pub you can enjoy the veranda-life as well. With nice food, friendly staff and a lot of televisions it is a true nice place.

A waitress told us she and her group go here after work. The can see why. While items have NYC pricing, they are not outrageous. Service was great and food was reasonable. Back room has couches...front room standard bar and tables

We visited on our honeymoon after visiting Central Park. Hayley was so welcoming. The food was awesome. The tacos are 10/10!!

Just stopped at Faces and Names to watch the Giants play. Sat at the bar, Matthew made the best bloody Maty and had some amazing chicken tacos.

We visited Faces and Names on a cold February night, not too many people (an early dinner), we were served nice tacos, a simple and clean restaurtant with nice employees that did a decent job. The tacos were tasty, well prepared and served adequately - reasonably priced.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past but will probably opt for something else in the future. Hostess was friendly, bartender provided service but was unfriendly and short. Luckily after shift change her replacement was pleasant. A steak and Cajun chicken salad were not in the least bit memorable. I would probably choose something else given the opportunity.

After a late concert at Carnegie Hall, friends and family were in the mood to celebrate and this was the place! The server was new (had to be taught how to open a bottle oc champagne) and enthusiastic. She made certain that our orders were accurate and delivered in a timely manner. In addition to the drinks, we had some appetizers and desserts - all were quickly prepared - not all that spectacular but were there to celebrate, not to eat!

Staff were friendly, food was really good-we ordered the mini burgers, chicken and onion rings. Took a while for us to get our bill and we had plans. Would return!

We did not have a drink here but it was a really jolly place one foot from the pavement and next door to our hotel. My husband is in a moon boot so we did not go because of steps.

Went for a drink and quick bite after sightseeing all day. We had pork buns (amazing!) and onion rings. Good selection of beers. Efficient and friendly service.

Cozy bar with tasty drinks and pub food. Talented staff plus festive atmosphere made for a relaxing respite after a full day of touring NYC with teens on Christmas break.

I was visiting one of our offices located around the corner and popped in here once I was done and ended up staying several hours! The atmosphere was very casual and easy to get along in, the bartenders were all very nice and attentive and the pretzel I ordered was delish! Adding in that they're reasonably priced and you've got an all in one stop shop! I'll definitely be back!

Had been here before for drinks but never food. Server was super slow and would disappear for long periods of time. Anything we needed we had to ask for. Food was good for bar food so I give that a 4. Service was a 2 so I averaged it out. Decent pub for appetizers in this part of town but would not go out of my way for it at all.

Pop into Faces and Names around 5:30 or so on a weekday and you’ll find the bar full of lively conversation. The place is a popular spot with the after-work New York crowd. You won’t find people glued to their phones. Instead they are acutally talking to each other while taking sideways glances at one of the many televisions featuring sporting events. You don’t have to be a New Yorker to enjoy the place. The drinks are fabulous and the food is just as good, especially the sliders (both varieties). The waitstaff is super helpful, efficient and friendly. The sound level is quite high due to all the talking going on, but you can sit in the back room if you want the sound toned down a notch. It's also a great late night place to grab a bite and a drink. You won't find the New York working crowd then, but the service is just as good.

Wonderful spot for good food, drinks, service and fun ambiance. Also very reasonable price-wise for NYC. Very friendly clientele and wonderful for after Theater gathering. Great flat breads.

On Friday 20 of June 2025, A couple of female friends and myself attend Faces and Names and as we take outside one of the female went to the bathroom and was sexual assorted by another customer he tried to force her in the man room with him and an audication accused between me and that customer. The fight was broken up and the manager assured me that they were sorry and the bill was on the house.... but the next day I had a 400 bill on my statement and when I reach out to to get clarity on why was i charged the next day i was made aware that the head manager was in on Mondays but would call me when she came in that was two week ago I finally called and spoke to the head manager today who denied everything that nothing was promise regarding the bill and that my friend was attacked yet I have 4 women that would say differently. This place is disgusting a lady was Sexually attacked in there bar a they did nothing.... but act like nothing happen

We stumbled into this bar after a long morning of walking; we could not have been more pleased. With a pub feel and a breezy atmosphere (the side wall is wide open windows in the Spring) we came here for a shady respite. What we got was gourmet food- a classy spin on classic American- and fantastic service. Order the pork buns- you will not be disappointed. Thanks to Elaine, our delightful waitress!

Elevated open air tables in front put you close to the street action. Tables in back are quiet and secluded. Pick your environment. Throughout you'll find wood tones providing a warm up-class feel with Caricature portraits of celebs lending a hip, modern feel. We found this when looking for a drink and afternoon lunch. The flautas and Kale salad were delicious. Stopped again before a show, then later that night for a late bite to eat.

Da italiano a new york: Nice food nice place close to times square..good also the price. Se dovessi ricapitare in zona ci tornerei

Went here several times for drinks and one lunch. Nice atmospheric bar with open windows to sit and watch the world go by. Had lunch one day which was good and very reasonable for mid town

We stopped in for a cocktail before meeting the rest of our coworkers for dinner. Actually stayed much longer then expected and came back later. The atmosphere is so comfortable and has a feel of an upscale neighborhood bar. The bartenders and waiters are very attentive and the beer selection was great. I'll be heading back there on a future trip.

We were in NYC on the Friday before Christmas. It was cold and snowy and very busy. We tried to find a warm place to grab a drink before our dinner reservation but every place was understandably packed. We walked in to Faces and Names and a gentleman jumped up from his seat at the bar and offered it to my husband and I and said “Merry Christmas” while he finished his drink standing. It was a friendly local bar and we were so happy to be able sip our drinks in the warmth and Christmas lights. My husband noted that the bartender poured his Guinness perfectly.

Quick visit with my daughter, celebrating her 22nd birthday! Great atmosphere, very relaxed and listened to the best playlist while we were there. S/o to Jesse for treating us like royalty walking into the pub and the complimentary birthday drinks! We will return if/when back in NYC.

Not wanting to eat at another over-priced NY restaurant, we stumbled into Faces and Names as we walked by. What a great find! We sat at the bar and talked with some other people there. Everyone seemed like a regular and were very welcoming to us. The bartender, sorry I don't have her name, was friendly, fast and helpful. She made great cocktails, offered suggestions for dinner and made the evening a fun. Prices were very fair and we had a great meal. We will be back in the future.

Warm friendly bar to shelter from the rain and watch the parade. Extensive drinks menu, very warm service and great food! We hadn’t planned to visit but like all the best things the surprise was welcome. Highly recommend.

Use this pub for an escape from the conferences we attend at the Hilton up the street. I conduct meetings here, lunches and cocktails for happy hour. Did not eat on this last visit but service at the bar and and couches int he back was great. Good drinks and prices aren't bad.

On a five day trip to New York last week. My two friends & I came across this bar, a BIG THANK YOU to CHANDA, who made our night very entertaining. Fabulous girl with a great personality & a credit to this bar / restaurant. Nothing was a problem for her. Pay a visit here folks, u won’t be disappointed

Came in on a Tuesday and sat at the bar for three hours. Adam, the bartender was fantastic and kept my buzz the entire time. Great person to talk to. Came back on thanksgiving, and again enjoyed being at the bar. Great place to visit and relax.

We stopped into Faces and Names on our way back to The London (where we were staying) after a night out. Great drink selection, my husband was raving about the beer selections and a wonderful atmosphere! Open until 4am when we were there, and we happily stayed until close spending time with friends.

The food is better than the Hilton and much cheaper. I had a great steak salad for lunch. The windows were open, giving me a great view down on the street. The bartender was attentive. This place is definitely worth checking out.

So it was about 1:30 am after seeing a musical and we were hungry. We took a walk to these lounge we saw called Faces and Names, as we were looking at the menu there was a man standing in front by the steps who worked there. He suggested to get the Tacos and he was serious how good they were. His look and authentic being sold me. We walked in a looked around, I really liked the set-up. It's truly a lounge even the cool lounge music the live DJ was playing. Great feel and atmosphere. The waitress was so nice and friendly. We ordered the Chicken mini tacos and yes they are mini, you get 9, I wish it was an even number for the sharers out there but they were amazing. We then ordered the chicken dumplings, also great. that was enough food for us. we both ordered drinks, I got this "sweet tea" and that was great, 2 of them I was feeling it. My fiance got a margarita and was very good. We loved it so much and definitely would go back.

The food is much better than expected. The ambiance and table service are fine but routine. We came looking for convenience to Carnegie Hall for an easy bite and a warm cocktail because it was a chilly, wet night. We definitely got the convenience and we were very surprised by the food. Chicken fingers were hot, crunchy, and not greasy at all. The same was true for the onion rings, which were probably the best I’ve had in a decade. The Cobb salad was fresh. Excellent. Do not order an Irish coffee

We were exhausted from traveling and stopped in for a beer. Ended up hanging out a few hours drinking locally brewed beer, met some new international friends in the same line of work and ended up having a blast when all our intentions were to just have a quick break and brew. Waitstaff could not have been more engaging or fun. It was a great place to people watch as well We shall be back!

We stayed at the nearby Wellington Hotel and every evening would visit a local bar for a few drinks. After experiencing the same old Irish pubs during our stay we decided to stop by Faces and Names on our penulatimate evening and were pleasantly surprised at both the atmosphere and the price/quality of the drinks. We enjoyed the bar so much we visited again the next day for some lunch and were not disappointed. It was such a shame that it took us until the penultimate day to find this bar on our doorstep but we will remember it for next time that we visit.

In the rush of noon time, A relaxed , quite, good music restaurant /pub, Foods good, served fast and neatly. A positive experience.

Lively bar with nice atmosphere... rest place to hang with friends or enjoy great bar snacks from an extensive menu. restaurant searing is also available, but the bar atmosphere is great. Great cocktail list and extensive wine list. Only disappointment was the lower priced wines were all ... out of stock! The pricier wines were readily available. The hostess was far from welcoming, but our decision to hang by the bar was a good call. Great atmosphere and a great location if you are staying at the Hilton Midtown or Sheraton.

Got in late and dropped in . Great Burgers and service. Next to the London Hotel. Good menu to choose from and the place was clean.

Nice pub with many locals here. Good opening hours. Have not tried the food, but the drinks are really good here. Friendly and nice staff

What a cool little bar/lounge with tasty food and good drinks. We wanted something simple before seeing our show and this was perfect! I had the bbq chicken flatbread and my husband, the cob salad with grilled chicken---both which we enjoyed.

It was surprisingly difficult to find a place that was open in the city that doesn't sleep during the week! We were staying in the Hilton Midtown and after a long day in the city we were hoping to wind down with some cocktails and bar food. We found Faces and Names! What a great bar! We had the pleasure of being seated in the area where Phoenix was working. Phoenix provided excellent service for us! The people were friendly, drinks were cold and tasty, and food hit the spot!

What a vibrant place to enjoy the city! Just happened to stumble upon this while wandering around the area one night and we made several visits. Excellent drinks and great staff. Atmosphere was energetic. We also had some bites one evening - vegetable spring rolls, onion rings, and mini-burgers, which were all delicious. It added to a wonderful stay in Manhattan.

Enjoyed our visit. Place was a little loud but not bad. Food was excellent and staff was friendly. Good choice of drinks/beers. We will visit again next time we are in town.

This was a lively bar with a dive feel. The location is perfect and the service was wonderful. The music was also spot on. We were here in the early afternoon but I could have easily stayed into the evening. It is definitely a feel good spot.

The staff at Faces&Names is wonderful with a special mention for Hayley who is absolutely delightful and was very eager to keep us happy. Unfortunately, whoever is planning the menu is not up to par. How is it possible that a restaurant in NYC has such a meager offering of dessert? I'm talking about having nothing but one type of cupcake - that's it - nothing else offered. We wanted Cheesecake. A NYC restaurant that doesn't offer an array of desserts, and NO Cheesecake, is off our list. And we will miss Hayley.

We randomly stopped in here for a drink and app before a dinner. Great selection, nice staff, excellent service. Nice little find in the city.

My husband and I live overseas and fly into NYC whenever we're back in town to visit family. We stay at the Hilton and this time we were starving by the time we checked in to the hotel so we didn't want to go far to get a bite to eat. The reviews and menu looked fine so we walked the block to Faces and Names. What a perfect spot for weary travelers. We sat at the bar which was festively and tastefully decorated for Christmas. We felt like this could have gone either way - crappy pub food at NY prices or just what we needed. It was just what we needed. Audrey greeted us warmly, served us cold beer, and made great suggestions. We got burger sliders and chicken tacos and both were amazing. Seldom can you say a burger slider is cooked just right, they're too little, but they were! Also, nine chicken tacos is a lot! We had such a great experience we came back on the other end of our trip because my husband wanted the full size burger, which did not disappoint. Again, Audrey took care of us and we had a great time. Beware of talkative locals though, we got an earful from a cocky supposed hedge-fund guy. Anyhow, even the prices were decent for NYC!

Went to get something to eat on our first evening in NYC after longhaul flight but couldn't get a table so we ended up just having a drink. Staff are very friendly and helpful (let me taste local beers before choosing the one I wanted) and observing for the hour we were there were also very efficient. Great buzz to the place and the food looked good.

We had a wonderful casual dinner here. The owner/manager greeted us and sat us immediately. Our waitress was great and took her time to explain the options on the menu. The food came out quickly and was delicious.

We went to Faces for brunch and it was good . There was a limited menu but the prices were reasonable and service were great. This was more of a pub style but had a nice atmosphere and fine local place near our hotel. For $12.95 had a full breakfast with coffee and a cocktail .

good drinks, good service, convenient for after work mid town manhattan happy hour drinks. can get crowded, but big enough to accommodate.

Extremely friendly and great service. I liked to have choked on my drink when my husband told me what he paid for it but we are in NY.... We did order the mozzarella balls and they were fantastic! The atmosphere of this place reminds me of your favorite place back home...no matter where you are from. It’s a comfortable, friendly vibe.

Been here a few times over a number of years when visiting New York. Great place for a drink in the evening and the food is great too. Brilliant service and very reasonably priced when you consider the location. A must visit when in NYC!

The place was open late and very busy The price was reasonable and the location was comfortable The service was efficient

Fantastic little pub close to many hotels making it super easy to visit pre/post other things you need to get done in NYC. Given it is so close to the hotel bars, it is a no-brainer to drink there that the boring hotel bars.

I haven't yet come across a place that uses caricatures of famous people / artists to adorn its walls so this makes it quite unique. The place can seem like an inviting bar even in the day with its noir lighting and the food here is a clear winner. Ordered the mini chicken tacos and philly cheese steak and loved both! Must visit for its unique interiors and food.

Just off 7th Avenue between Times Sq and Central Park. Great find. Decent prices for drinks and great service. The actual bar reminds me of Cheers.

Firstly good service and warm greeting, nice decor and friendly. However the food was poor to average. Cold curly fries, minimalistic chicken wrap, dry tasteless burger bun and chicken strips that was actually a cut up fillet . Asked for Stella Artois and got something else? Had to send chicken wrap back it was that poor! Don't bother there's better down the road at 3 Monkeys!

Amazing food, service and location. I had a group of 10 people for lunch … we arrived 40 minutes earlier than expected and 10 minutes before they actually opened. Jane let us in anyway and proceeded to give us warm and friendly service. We ordered a variety of appetizers for the table and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. We were there for a special occasion and were so glad to have selected this gem. A special thanks to Jane for being so nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

The food was surprisingly good. Beer selection excellent! I had chicken tacos - best dish on their menu. Great seen and be seen place for after work.

Next to The London great place to have late night drink and small bites, Good service and reasonable priced

Stopped in for a late lunch. Was a good location across the street from our hotel. Food was excellent and atmosphere was good. Staff were friendly. Burger and onion rings were excellent. Started to get busy around 4pm as the work crowd started to filter in.

Fantastic bar, fantastic food, fantastic staff!!! Faces and Names is a bar that serves fantastic food & drink, also in a great location! Staff are very welcoming, very attentive, very friendly and just all round great people!!! A visit is a must if you're in NYC! Can't wait to go back!!!!

Went for a drink after dinner and ended up staying several hours. We expected a tourist trap and were pleasantly surprised to find a warm, relaxing place to enjoy some good cocktails and conversation. The drinks were done well, and when one of us spilled one unglamorously, the staff cheerfully came to clean it, and my companion up and then arrived with a new drink. We loved the music, which consisted of an array of more and less familiar Alternative bands of the 80s and 90s (think from Talking Heads to Siouxsie and the Banshees). The walls offered lots of conversation starters, as they are hung with paintings of famous people. To call them caricatures probably brings to mind Op-Ed cartoons, but these were actual paintings, seemingly very well done, and mostly very recognizable despite -- or perhaps because of -- the exaggerated features.

This bar was right around the corner from our hotel. Cool lil bar with very attentive staff. Our waitress continually checked on us to make sure we were ok, which I appreciate. Drinks were generous and the Old Fashioned To me was the best I had in NYC. They were very smooth. We ordered a cheese platter which was good too. Nice place for a drink and snack.

Good beer and wine, nice appetizers. Good music at the right volume. A half block off 7th Ave made all the difference.

Great place if you are looking for something better than fast food or a diner that won't put a hole in your budget. The people are super nice, after work crowd mixes with tourists in the early evening. The food is good.

Dropped in with Wife and Parents just to have a quick drink-- and we stayed for a long while! Great drinks, food, and conversation with staff, why do people love the English accent?! Our secret hangout in Midtown.

After walking 5 miles in NYC we needed drinks and food. A friend had recommended this establishment, and now I owe him a huge thank you, Drinks were reasonable for NYC and the food was very good. We started with the fried calamari and made yummy nises, :-) Nicely seasoned with a perfect cook. Our mains were the Faces & Times Burger and the Chicken Club... both prepared perfectly. Next City trip will have this one on our list again.

My mom and I came here after watching a show on 52nd, as suggested by some people we met at the show. Glad we did. It was a quiet week night. We ordered a cheese platter and cocktails. The bartender was a treat to talk to. The restaurant/bar is clean. Loved the artwork on all the walls. Really cute place. Would absolutely come back to try more of the menu.

Dined twice at this restaurant. The dining room stays open late. The bar and tables areas are lively. Service is excellent. The chicken tacos are outstanding! Great french fries as well. The beverages are very good as well. On the same street as the London Hotel.

The best part about being in the City is the ability to always try someplace new and I was so glad to have been able to come here. I met up with a friend of mine for lunch and we got to enjoy a great meal in a relaxing environment. This place is located in midtown west, and is not far from Carnegie Music Hall. We were seated immediately and ordered one of the lunch specials which are reasonably priced especially for the size of the portions you get! (huge!) We were able to catch up for a few hours and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Food was delicious and we will gladly come back here again with more friends!! Well worth a visit. The decor is part of the fun too, lots of paintings of celebrities.

Been coming here fairly regularly over the summer and this time with a larger group of work colleagues Before ordering we asked if we could have separate checks - to make it easier for payment - and quickly told no If we wanted to do that we would have to order individually at the bar But we could split the check Do we ordered, ate our food ; drank our drink. One of our party worked out what each had and write it down with each credit card itemised. We were then told no; they won’t take Payment like that (ie different amounts). But that the check had to be split equally We actively complained about this. If they are going to run each card at a certain amount then it’s just as straightforward to split it at the different amounts as we had worked out. Our server was very nice and did work with us; he told us this was house policy. We told him that it was ridiculous; none of this had been explained fully I said if we have to split equally then there will be no tip. That seemed to change things. And he arranged our individual checks as we requested (and we did tip) This all left us with a very bad end to what had been a pleasant experience; decent food and drink in a fun atmosphere. I have heard other colleagues experience this too This is New York on 2023; splitting a bill in unequal amount should be very simple. A house policy should be fully made aware before ordering. I would not recommend this place for a group of work colleagues who need to pay different amounts based on what they order.

Came here with friends, very nice, professionally staff, fast service. We were welcomed and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. I got the pork buns (bao) and pretzel bites. Both were great. Would definitely come back. If you want a well lit eating area though, go before 430, they turn it into more of a club atmosphere after that.

Food was like store bought and reheated. Server was stuned, actually asked if I wanted my frozenpacked hamburger cooked anything other than well done. Salad seemed fine utill about 10min later, then got to have a stomachache for dessert.

My daughter and I were in NYC on a "do as you please" bus trip. We had a busy day and were ready for dinner. Had used Open Table to make a reservation ahead of time, but didn't really know much about the place. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Shared the fried mozzarella balls, I had their burger and fries and my daughter got the chicken tacos. Everything was delicious, the area where we were seated was comfortable and away from the front door. Our server was awesome. We'd definitely go again.

I had a nice time at Faces and Names. Their chicken tacos are to die for! Service was quick and my drinks are on point.

This is a great spot near the London and Hilton hotel, just off 7th ave. great pics inside and the food is solid. Very quiet bar that is tucked away from the NYC crowd. There are more livelier spots to go to, if you are looking for peace and quiet and a good beer...this is where you would go.

I usually stop into Faces and Names whenever I'm in NYC for conferences. The bar area is great for meeting up with clients/friends and it has a comfortable atmosphere. Food is standard pub fare and The best part is that the service is attentive and prices are reasonable - a combo that can be hard to find in Manhattan. I would recommend it if you're near Times Square.

We grabbed some dinner here as a fall back plan while staying in the area. We had some wine, a burger, cheese board, and some apps. All was good except I had a glass of wine that tasted a little foul. Not a bad place for NYC, pricing was around $200 for our party of four which is reasonable for NY. I'd stop in again for a drink if I was in the area. The atmosphere was casual and the staff were nice.

We visited Faces and Names for a quick drink before a show. Great spot!!! We were sat in the cozy back area at comfy sofas, had a friendly server and good cocktails. While we did not eat, we thought the food menu had a lot to offer and amazing prices for NYC. We certainly will come back again.

I used to stop here often when I worked near the area. The staff is truly amazing and courteous. The food is decent bar food. But it is a great spot to indulge in after work!

We made it to Faces and Names, my priority stop near Central Park and the theatre district. It deserves the praise others have awarded. Drinks, a generous pour; chicken tacos amazing as was his burger. Server pleasant and efficient.

Quality pub/bar food. Nice selection - mini chicken tacos and Cubano sandwich were both excellent. Very pleasant and attentive serving staff even when place filled up. Good evening

Came after work and sat at bar. Took over 15 minutes to be served a drink by a male bartender whose grumpy face clarified that he should not be in the hospitality business. Acoustics are terrible, so if you plan to speak to the person you are with, I suggest you go elsewhere. Will not return.

I had been referred to this place by a friend. I enjoyed my Saturday night, much more once I had seated myself near the fireplace, met new people, and quickly been served, a delicious Martini! The food was good, the service and atmosphere, excellent!

Had a very nice meal and a couple of drinks at faces and names. Lovely place for some pub grub and reasonable priced food and drinks. Service was great. Would definitely return on my next visit to NYC.

liked it because it was close to my hotel/ not crowded/ good drinks/ appeared to be lots of locals/ cool pictures on wall of famous stars and musicians

Excelent for a drink! I drank Cosmopolitan. It was very nice. I até Mexican food and it's só delicious. I'll be back.

Came here twice on recent trip to New York, been here in past several times so now I consider a favourite in NY for drinks. Great to sit at bar And have a few beers/cocktails, and grab a few appetisers.. Nachos lovely, almost a fresh healthy version with lovely fresh avocado slices on top, wings always a must here, but also this Trip tried the calamari which was lovely. Next trip to NY due in 2 years... So I will be back..
Perfect place for casual drinks
This is a local pub in heart if New York City. Lovely atmosphere and such a friendly staff. We came here to watch couple of football games whilst we were in holiday. Amazing food!! We had the pork buns and fries first time and mini tacos with shrimps the second time. All of them so good!! Definitely going to come here again when I in NYC next time. ❤️
