My wife and I stopped in to Farinella for pizza last night. We both ordered a slice and they charged more than $7 per slice. There pizza looks nice, but when we both tasted it, we looked at each other and said simultaneously "this pizza has no taste." We told the two women behind the counter that it had no taste and they just shrugged their shoulders. Don't go to Farinella. It looks great but has no taste.

Great value for money and very kind staff, in particular Carlos! Rare that you have such great service in a more takeaway style place but they also have a few nice seats outside to watch what goes on at broadway

It was a cold and rainy afternoon and we stumbled into this wonderful place. We ate in the back room which was more spacious. The staff was very friendly and the pizza was so delicious. Will definely visit again.

Didnt get to sample the food. Lady behind till was rude and insistant on sitting out back if we wanted a drink. Didnt want our money so left. Place opposite is nice and does great bagels and has staff with manners.

The attitude is worse than the pizza, I heard the pizza is different, I guess they meant it had nothing on it. The pepperoni slice had 2 slices of pepperoni on it! The meatball slice had 1/2 a meatball on the slice and it costs over $10. Even the plain slice had a only 2 or 3 leaves of basil on the pie and almost no cheese, at $8 for a slice of plain pizza you at least expect it would have cheese on there. I ordered a catering order and it came out to over $240 for 3 pies, and they wouldn't include the paper plates or condiments, said they have to charge for the plates and garlic, but kept asking me how much of a tip I want to add. The lady at the counter had such a deplorable attitude that I almost cancelled the order and walked out. Avoid this place, unless you enjoy throwing money away!

we stopped here for a quick lunch. The pizza was ok but wasn't anything special but it did the job it was meant to.

We visited the store on 61st Street Lexington Avenue. The pizza here is great! The prices are good and you can either eat out the back in the restaraunt or at the front or take out.. definately worth a visit if your a pizza lover!

This Farinella on Lexington between 61st and 62nd is a short walk from the hotel we always stay at in NYC. We had pizza there in the Spring, as well as this trip in November. We really enjoyed our pizza both times. We ate in their dining room in the back (they do have a few tables up front but we like the privacy and quiet in back), and the service is friendly and efficient. I think we'll make this a regular place on our visits.

My daughter had a slice of caprese and it was large and really good for the price. There were small tables inside and a couple of benches outside. The decor and atmosphere were both very nice. The lady who helped us was very pleasant and professional. The only negative was paying $3.50 for an 8.5 ounce can of coke. Seemed excessive, but this is New York.

Fantastic pizza, coffee and service. We highly recommend Farinella. we've experienced quite a variety in pizzas and service in NY, but Farinella is an authentic Italian. Service is really friendly and personal.

We happened upon this place, and it turned out to be a great find. The pizza was very tasty, and the caffe latte was probably the best I've ever had. I highly recommend it.

If you're up in the neighborhood north of Bloomingdale's and are looking for a tasty bite, it's worth seeking out Farinella. Tucked into a small spot on the west side of Lexington, it's an oasis for flavor, freshness, and a very nice pizza crust. The pizza "slices" are bigger than those in your typical pizzeria and they have a lot more going on than the rubbery mozzarella you often find. Flavors are fresh, cheeses are varied, and the toothiness of the crust is just right. It's not cheap but it's worth it. Savor with a glass of wine (which they just happen to offer), and enjoy a little trip to Italy.

Authentic pizza close to Central Park. Amazing dough which is light and crispy. Fresh toppings on pizza wonderfully seasoned. Fast service. Big yes from the Stone family.

Best pizza and amazing homemade pesto! Carlos knocked it out of the park as in Central Park! He and Chris delivered food to our group of 51 students and even served us in Central Park! We never expected that. What a class act! So friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back! Thank you, Carlos! You made us feel super special! And thank you for the cheesecake! It was wonderful! Outstanding customer service!

Let cared on lexington Avenue this small place produces sone terrific pies. The crust is thin and well done and the Scorsese pie is mad very well. They have salads , expensive sodas, and some hero’s as well but your best bet is a pie. Everything was s made daily. Which is good and I believe that they deliver vet in the immediate area

If you want to try another pizza or Italian food, this is a good option, varied flavors, square pizza, sweets and Italian soft drinks. Good service and good price.

Farinella pizza is not your typical NY or NJ pizza. It has wafer thin, crispy crust and lots of unusual toppings. It's served in rectangles on a board and you can mix and match toppings. I enjoyed my Filetto (arugula and cheese) and capricciosa (ham, artichoke, mushrooms, etc.) and my husband said the arrabbiata was spicy enough even for him (and he likes SPICY!). You'll probably spend at least $30 for two on the pizza, not bad for a meal in NYC but more than your average pizza. The front of the restaurant looks like fast food but there's a small, average restaurant in the back. I think you'll be pleased, especially if you like very thin pizza.

Two rectangular slices cost me about $15 but were tasty. I learned quickly that this is a specialty stop/"bakery" and not so much a quick pizza joint. Crust was perfect, candidly, but slices were a bit too light on what is an excellent sauce. Will revisit, but probably scale back to a slice, which along w/a side salad would be perfect.

My my, the pizza was real good. The staff was conversational and friendly. Would highly recommend if your in the New York area.

There is very comfortable room behind where we were sitting, the place is very clean, very friendly atmosphere & very good service Pizza is delicious, like in Italy

My husband and I stopped by for pizza at this place since we saw so many good reviews. We got a table on the back area. The place looks nice but, even though the place was empty, the service was slow. We order 3 different types of slices and it turned out all of them tasted exactly the same. The price does not match the quality. If you are looking for really good pizz just walk some blocks down to Lex and 57st, where they have really good Italian style pizza.

Great pizza, with a wide choice of ingredients. Friendly staff, very busy local. Tables both indoors and outdoors.

Read the menu carefully and pick the slice which appeals to you most. My favorite is D.O.C. I have been there many times!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this Pizzeria about 2 years ago. Literally. After a hot day of exploring the city and dehydration, i decided I was walking into the next restaurant we went by, and it happened to be Farinella's! We were pleasantly surprised bu the small eat in restaurant. I decided on the Cacio e Pepe (Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, fresh cracked pepper), and my boyfriend, the Amatriciana (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pancetta, pecorino romano, hot chili peppers). They take two square slices (one serving) and pop them in the oven to crisp up the crust. The pizza was SO good, that we each got another slice! We are always sure to stop by here every time we visit the city. Definitely put this on your list of places to check out. You will not be disappointed!

In looking for places to eat that represent NY, Farinella fits that bill! My wife and I enjoyed some great NY style pizza and a few glasses of wine. The restaurant is small, intimate, and easy on the wallet. This place is a gem!!!

I was on my own and happened to walk past the Pizzeria. The smell enticed me to walk in and then I was hooked. I had a pizza with arugula, extra cheese and dried tomatoes.

Best canoli in NYC. Great selection of fresh pizza in the flatbread tradition. Yummy. Immaculately clean and the staff is first rate.

Some pizzas are a hit and miss. Most of them are still tasty but expensive. This is a more of a fancy diner afterall, but some pizzas are not justified by their price.

I happened to stop by this place while heading something else, as the pizza looked really good from the outside. I am from Rome and moved here 4 years ago, and it's been a challenge to find a place that makes tasty pizza like it's supposed to be made. What I like about this place is that all the ingredients are super fresh (you can taste the difference even in the mozzarella cheese they use) and the crust is thin and not soaked in oil. It's not the pizza you would get for dinner at a pizzeria, rather the slice on the go you would look for at your favorite bakery. I am happy they are opening a new location on 61st and Lexington, as it's much closer to my apartment. Try it out and enjoy it!

I always pass by this place and it entices me to go in every time. I finally walked in and saw a Tartuffo slice. I ordered it. The woman at the counter warned me that it was around $10. I thought, ok, maybe I don't want to spend that much on a slice so I ordered the sausage slice. It was $8. I appreciated her advice but relatively speaking, I would have just ordered the Tartuffo. After that, I realized that it's a high-end pizzeria disguised as an unassuming place to just grab a quick slice. That slice was HEAVEN, though. It brought me back to when I was in Rome and every pizzeria was a good one. The crust wasn't as spongy but very well done. The crust was very thin and had a good crunch. It was strong enough to hold up to all the luscious cheese, sausage and other toppings. Being as expensive as it is, I would probably go back just to get that Tartuffo slice.

Even though the co-owner, Alberto, is from Naples, the excellent pizza is Roman style, meaning thin-sliced and rectangular. There are 3 Farinella locations in upper Manhattan and their repeat customers include Paul McCartney and Madonna. The most comfortable location is on Lexington between 61st and 62nd because of the back dining room which also houses a giant painted mural featuring their illustrious clientele in an amusing "Last Supper" type composition.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and got quite a surprise. Not only were the pepperoni and the sausage pizza slices excellent, the crust was the thinnest, crispiest, and most delicious I have had in the USA. It was mouthwateringly good and just like the pizza I so enjoyed throughout all of Italy!.The variety of pizza selections are great with some unlike anything I have had before. and with names like Amatriciana, Capricciosa, Cacio & Pepe, Filetto, and Alice! They even have something they call Chocopizza which is focaccia bread, chocolate, and hazelnut for you sweets lovers. Ever had that before?! Calzones and salads are also available. There is little seating, but so what. Try their pizza. It is certainly distinguishable from the countless ordinary pizzerias in this and any other New York City neighborhood.

Was in near Central Park looking for a place to have a quick bite with my niece Upper West Side and stumbled into this place in December 2016. We went into the back dining area which was very simple but the pizza was off the hook!!!!! Very different type of pizza versus the triangle style or Sicilian for that matter. I was informed it was "Roman: style so it was thinner and rectangular shaped. I loved the different types of pizza they offered. It not with the general toppings you get in the U.S. Some may say its pricey but I could care less because the pizza is THAT good. You cannot always find good pizza in New York (yes I said it) but this place is good. I also had some wine. I cannot wait to go to Rome to try the pizza there. Will post up some photos. We also had some appetizers as well and great service. Looks like a local favorite.

We found ourself on the upper east side apartment hunting and hungry- with no pre-planned lunch spot picked out we came across Farinella Bakery Pizza and thought what the heck let's give it a try ( we had a disappointing pizza at Anthony's previously). We were delighted to see a variety of unique topping choices as we don't care for the typical boring pepperoni or sausage pizza. I had the Capriciossa ($9) and my son had Primavera ($6) both were very good, they have slices at $4 and the most expensive was $10. I felt the slices were not skimpy; if your use to the "all you can eat" buffet mentality you won't want to stop here, but if you enjoy a normal portion and untraditional toppings on perfectly baked thin flat bread type crust then this is the place I recommend.

The place is very simple but the pizza is excellent, have been there several times and was never disappointed. You really feel like being in Italy.

Excellent pizza in New York (liked the 4 formaggi) Very frindly people. Loved "Tiramisu" one of the best I've ever eaten, and I tested a lot.

While we were not hungry the amazing aromas drew us into this little gourmet pizza shop. We picked up a few slices to come home & thoroughly enjoyed. Wished we would have found befor we ate lunch further north!

Farinalla is a tiny delicious boutique for your tastes. It provides one of the best pizzas in NY, meaning really tasty, fragrant and definitely far from the usual tourist traps in downtown. NO alcool served. The service is excellent and the place has a nice and warm vibe. Definitely a choice when touring around the "Museums mile" in Upper East. You will defintely drop many pizzas in NY after having tasted this. Pay attention very limited seats.

Went for a quick bite. 2 slices of pizza and a coke ended up to almost 20 $. Pizza was not worth for the money.

I don't eat pizza every week. Sometimes a month or two or three might slip by without pizza on the menu... So when I do eat pizza:It better be worth it. I've enjoyed Pepe's (new haven ground zero of pizza) for many years. Long story short: Farinella sells a thin crust, flavorful, fresh-tasting memorable slice. So far I've sampled only the Caprese. But I vow that I shall return to sample the other varieties. And soon. NB: Not cheap ($6 for a slice!!) and good people behind the counter.

The cheese pizza was excellent and the service was very good too. The dough/crust was outstanding and the tomato sauce was too. The cheese did not pull off the off the pizza when you took a bite.

The pizza was out of this world good, along with a glass of Chianti and a cannoli. Definitely recommend! Plenty of seating to the rear of the restaurant. Order to go at the counter or have a seat. Close to 77th st. Subway entrance.

It's hard to find good pizza on the upper east side, so I was excited to find Farinellas. There are two, but I have only been to the one on Lexington at 61st. The pizza are long rectangles, and it's kind of expensive. But a slice is cut in two and is a normal serving. I have tried many of the white pizzas which were all wonderful: thin crunchy crust and great toppings. The one caveat is that the marinara sauce is not worthy of the crust. I would not order a slice of the marinara again. Everything else (especially the potato pizza) is great. There is a small room in the back with table service where you can order wine as well.

Overpriced pizza with very fancy ingredients and descriptions. The flavor of the pizza did not justify the price.

Good Pizza and service!!! Very nice place easy to stay quite expensive but real italian original ingredient. If you are lucky you can find famous rappers

this review is for the west side branch. in an area long devoid of decent food, no less decent pizza, no less decent italian pizza this place is a minor blessing. hope they survive since business seems real slow.

What a fun find…great coffee, great service, great food and fun location. The team immediately made us feel welcome when we arrived. The coffee was amazing and they had breakfast sandwiches in the case which were delicious…we’ll definitely be back to try the pizza as it looked amazing!!

This is a very nice Pizza place . Located right off Columbus circle. Tasty pizza , freshly made and with very friendly service .

We went to Farinella's on the corner of Central Park (58th Avenue) for lunch, we had pizza slices, they were delicious and the waiter was very friendly! Small terrace to eat outside very nice. Cheap and much better than any other low cost pizza address

I ended up at Farinella's at random and loved it. The unique long rectangular pizzas are delicious. Nice back dining area with an amusing mural. Fun and friendly staff. Had a great time here with family.

This place should be part of the definition for the word "overpriced". I had two of the WORST slices of pizza of my life which also happened to be the MOST EXPENSIVE slices of my life. I was excited at the interesting choices they had to offer so I decided to give it a shot (plus some of the prices aren't even on the menu, including for the slices I ordered). I ordered a potato slice and a V.I.P. slice. While mine were in the oven I heard the previous customer furious at the cashier for how expensive his food rang up to be so I got nervous...mine was even worse...the potato slice was $7 and the VIP slice was $9!!! $9!!! and they are small slices! When I paid for this I thought to myself...these better be the best slices of pizza I've ever had...instead, they were the worst. The potato slice was flavorless and the VIP slice just tasted like dry, salty, bread. I would give them 2 stars for attempt at creativity if the prices weren't so darn high! Please do not waste your money here!!

Lovely little place that serves good food quick, Staff are really friendly and keep everything moving out fast. I had the caprese which was nice but the pepperoni was amazing. Defo worth a visit if you are in the area

We nipped in here to grab a bite to eat in between sightseeing, and were very pleased we did! The pizza is absolutely fantastic, freshly made with great ingredients. The service was attentive, and the prices very reasonable! If you're visiting bloomingdales near by, make sure you visit!

We tried several kinds of pizza and all were excellent: tasty, thin, crispi and original. Fast service and friendly staff.

Farinella pizzeria takeaway where you can get the tastiest crispy Roman crust pizza in Nyc by the cut served in rectangular slices

Good pizza at a great price. The half pizza is really large. The prosciutto pizza was great. Great waitress! Salad was good but kinda small.

Great area, very nice place and service! Pizza was very good and eggplants also, don't miss this spot when you are on Upper East Side!!!!

We wanted something low-key, close to our hotel as it was cold and raining but fun to take the kids for an easy dinner - Farinella's fit the bill. They have a front seating area which is great if you just want to take it to go but we sat in the back room which was quiet and clean. We ordered a Caprese half Palam which had 8 large, squares and was thin pizza. Very tasty. We also shared a Ceasear salad which was more than enough for the of us as an appetizer. So a salad, 1 large pizza and 3 small Sprites cost about $50.

This pizza reminds me of pizza I have had in Rome - big rectangular slabs that you have square slices cut from. Unique flavors and very fresh ingredients. More expensive than your average NYC "slice" but really a different product.

An authentic slice of pizza just like in Rome! Thin crust, crispy and very diverse. maybe too many choices! I never know which to get! I love them all!

I was walking down the street on my way to the E 77th Street subway train station with my luggage in tow when I decided to stop in here for a quick lunch before I went underground. It's a cute, little place, not much seating available but I was able to find the only empty table next to the window. I tried the Primavera pizza (mushroom, zucchini and mozzarella) on thin crust dough, paired with an orange San Pellegrino. It was fresh and delicious. I'm glad I tried it.

This pizza is fantastic, but you are going to pay for it. Very high quality ingredients. Never had a bad slice. Stick around and try a piece of dessert pizza. It won't disappoint!

Very fresh! Not like the normal pizza I’m used to. The cheeses are very delicious!! The names are hard to say. Haha

I could believe my luck being introduced to this pizza bakery. Everything is fresh and lasts several days in the fridge. We ordered four slices, mostly Sicilian, including eggplant, prosciutto, and extra cheese. Boy, was it delicious I will be back!

We stopped at Farinella's, without knowing anything about it, just because We were hungry and it was raining. Could not have been a better choice. They have a large variety. The service as exceptional. We had a small child with us and they could not have been nicer

We were staying in neighborhood, needed a quick lunch, and stopped in. The restaurant is not fancy. Tables for dining are located in an interior room; functional, but surely not decorative. My wife and I ordered pizza slices from an extensive pizza menu. The pizzas offered were creative. Once we finally received our pizzas, we were pleased with our meals. Overall, we felt that Farinella was a good value, convenient, and relatively fast.

You'll be lucky to be able to sit in here and eat as there's really only space for a dozen people at the most. The pizzas are delicious being the kind with very thin crust. My daughter raved about her potato pizza while I tried a more traditional one and like it too. So many NYC places give an excess of food and charge an excess prize. The pizza slices here were the right size for a meal and the price was excellent for the amount.

If you are looking for traditional NYC pizza, this is not the place. If you are looking for traditional Italian pizza, this is it. Try the Calzone Napoletano, it is fantastic! The help inside is very nice. Some of our party wanted thick crust, so they recommended another place nearby and said that they could bring it back and eat with the rest of us.

First time and I took a pizza home to heat up later. Service quick and friendly. Pizza excellent. Nice. A cut above the average place. Rectangular pizza makes sense

I ordered a mushroom/ sausage slice. I get o the register..... $8.45 with tax for one slice. I think to myself, this better be really good. It was truly tasteless. I was outraged actually. What nerve! In a city where you can get great pizza for far less.. I would gladly pay that for a slice of Di Fara pizza which is only $5.00 per. Bottom lim is, you would be a fool to set foot in this poor excuse for NY pizza.

This pizza place on the east side serves great italian style pizza. You can either take it to go or sit down. In the back, there is a cozy back room for about 25 people. Service is great, but the pizza is what makes the place worth a visit. I recommend to get a mixed palam with as many varieties as possible.

We visited NYC for the first time last week and we tried several pizza joints. I loved this place! In fact, we went back a second time because of the convenient location and the fact that I loved the pizza the first time I had it. We both had ordered a couple slices of pizza, and appreciated the kind employee who suggested we get a round pizza instead to save quite a bit of money. It was delicious!
Good pizza, nice place, we had fun.
Took the kids for our first stop in NYC and they enjoyed the pizza. Since it was their first NYC pizza experience, they loved it. There are two pieces to a slice, we ordered 2 half pizza's which was way too much, but the 5 of us managed to finish them. The crowd was in a good mood and we all joked about the painting on the rear wall. The staff was very pleasant, talking about our travels with the front counter folks and then the wait staff in the back. Very nice time, highly recommend it, and you can get away from the noise of the front street.
