Another local neighborhood GEM! Perfect place to hang out after work...where they serve a special my colleagues appropriately call the "Stimulus Package" which is basically a shot of Jamison whiskey with a Pint of their House beer for $5 - no kidding. Food is very good and service always great...don'f forget to try the Fried Pickles and the Nachos with shredded pork!

Unable to get to Ireland for my wife's 60th birthday this year, the staff at Fergie's provided my family with the next best thing. The live Irish music, food and drink made for a great event. A cake with the band playing happy birthday capped the evening. Young and old enjoyed themselves at Fergie's.

We visited this pub on a Saturday night to have a couple drinks and enjoy the live music. The Irish band was very entertaining, the prices are reasonable and the Reuben special was tasty. The waitress was able to reccomend two very good draft beers. The only complaint I would have is that with the live music upstairs it gets very difficult to have conversations so if you want to chat stay downstsirs.

Everything was conveniently located. The bar tender always remembers my name when I come to town. Some times he gives me a break on my dining which I appreciate. I still tip 20%

We were a little lost but looking for a lunch spot during our visit to historic Philadelphia. It was an out of the way spot so not too busy. The prices were very and the food was excellent. By the time we finished lunch the pace was packed. The daily specials were great.

Our first impressions last night in this pub were not great. The barman was quite a misery. He didn’t say hello, he looked irritated when we asked questions about the drinks and he didn’t smile once! There was hardly anyone in at this point so he wasn’t even busy. We stayed anyway for food as we could easily get a table and the menu looked ok. Our waitress was more friendly but still pretty serious. Two of our group got fish and chips and one got an all day Irish breakfast, all of which were just ok. I got the quiche with salad and this was really nice. Difficult to recommend unless you don’t mind unhappy looking workers!

Nice little Pub with friendly wait staff, a great selection and variety of vegetarian choices and the food was delicious. Good beer selection too! And, the prices and great!!!! Check it out!

4.0 star rating 1/23/2017 1 check-in It is not modern. It is not swank. There aren't TVs. There are people, laughing and talking. It feels real. There was an Irish band that came in with fiddles, ordered some pints and just played music at their table. It was busy but easy. I felt like I was back in Ireland. I haven't had their foods, but their beers are poured proper. THEY TAKE CARDS. Also, the bar-tending ladies are cool and fast. I'll be back.

Best seared tuna, wasabi mashed potatoes and asian slaw I have ever had!! Better than any high dollar asian place, this food was awesome! With great beer assortment and great atmosphere, this is one of the best pubs I have been. Thanks Fergie!

Classic pub atmosphere without the TVs, what a relief. Great music & beer selection and more than honorable food.

We were very happy to stumble upon Fergie's Pub. Excellent selections. I had the fish and chips, the beer batter was light and crisp with delicious home made tartar sauce. My aunt had the lamb burger with carmelized onions and loved every bite. Will definitely return.

While walking down Sansom St we followed a small group into Fergie's looking for a good pint. The entrance area was under construction so it did not look particularly welcoming until we stepped inside. It was Saturday at around 4 o'clock and they had traditional live Irish musicians, just sitting and playing around one of the tables in the bar, just like they do in Ireland. We had one of the best pints of Guinness (NITRO!) I've lately enjoyed and they had many more interesting selections, some nitro, some cask conditioned, and even though we didn't eat, the food coming out around us looked great! Will def return next time!

Large beer list. Great shepherds pie and excellent service. Can't ask for me. I might come back if I'm in the area again.

Very friendly pub,bar lady was very helpful with a question we had. Good and drinks we had were nice. Recommend.

Excellent atmosphere. Guinness was excellent, as it should be; no clover though. Live music, not loud, great time all around.

We saw MojoFlo perform here and had great time. We didn't eat there, but a few had speciality beers that they enjoyed. I would definitely go back.

Nice atmosphere and their food menu looks great! A great little pub! Wonderful beer list too! Corinna and Sylvia waited on us at the bar and they were top notch! :)

had a decent menu; a huge bar; quite dark inside and noisy on the night when we visited...we were not impressed with the quality of the food however...sorry I cannot say more other than to say, one of us got sick afterwards that night.

Awesome live band karaoke. Allison (?) has a brilliant set up, keeps the fun, friendly crowd fired up. 3 piece band is great . More really good singers than most karaoke spots. People were singing along, dancing, cheering all night. Good looking crowd too. Started a little late, fills up fast for good reason. They have made pouring Guinness an art form. Ragnar approved .

Excellent burger, properly cooked and served with salad. Fries or tots are the other side choices. Good selection of beer and of course they can pour a proper Guinness. The service was excellent and they made sure I was happy with food and drink. Pub atmosphere is typical albeit a bit loud at times depending on the crowd. Live music later in the evening is upstairs. The neighborhood is bustling with several pub options but this one is comfortable, friendly, and good value.

I had called ahead because we were a large party. I was informed that they don't accept reservations, but that if we were on our way there was plenty of room. When we arrived our table was set up and ready. Within 20 minutes the place was nearly full. We were warmly greeted. I loved the dark wood paneling. This place is not fancy, but warm and welcoming. The service was excellent. I had the fish and chips and was very happy. this is good old fashioned pub. No televisions or loud music. Just happy people! Just what we were looking for.

Just a normal Irish bar but has a decent selection of beers and to my surprise the shepherd's pie and veg was a really good dish at a good price.

Went for dinner upon arriving in Philly. Wines were excellent, beer was cold, and service was prompt and attentive. Enjoyed the bangers and mash as well as the shepherds pie. Upstairs was getting lively with Pub Karioke as we left.

My partner and I called for drinks on an evening. Great atmosphere and fantastic staff very friendly and welcoming. Great selection of beers wines and spirits. Live music upstairs.

Fergie's was recommended by a local who deposited us there on a crowded Saturday afternoon. The place was really buzzing and they had five musicians playing at an adjacent table. It was enjoyable and the vibe was good. We had the pub fries, which were surprisingly good. Service was off a bit due to the size of the crowd, but hey, the beers were cold.

Irish decor, a few beers and Irish menu items but really more of an American style pub. Service was OK - food mediocre at best. Turkey burger overcooked and dry, with stale bun. Fries good but greasy. Dark and somewhat dirty inside. More of a locals place. Not for first timers or visitors.

But it won't matter if you don't live in the neighborhood or the city for that matter. You can't but help feel at home in this cozy pub. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is your classic wood-paneled, Guiness serving watering hole. The staff are down to earth and friendly. The beer selection is good. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We popped in for a pint at about 7 pm on a Saturday and grabbed two stools at the bar. There was a table of fiddlers in one corner and the rest of the small establishment was an eclectic mix of old and young. We didn't have any food, so I can't rate their pub fare. In general, if you aren't in the mood for over-priced, trendy drinks and loud, pick-up bars - this is the place for you.

A great meeting & eating place right downtown - warm atmosphere, good beers & drinks, and great pub food! Loved it! Also, regular poetry readings upstairs when they aren't having the jumpingest live music!

Great service, live band karaoke and decent food!! Picture on the wall in the bar seems to stare at you... a bit creepy but I guess that is the point.

Beer selection's OK. Service is terrible, as is the food.

Stumbled upon this place while on business trip to Philadelphia, and decided o have drinks with friends. The place is nice, great drinks and beer selection. It is a very nice place to enjoy drinks with friends to chat and drink. It is not a large pub but it was a great place to hang out. Happy we stumbled in there.

Stopped by after a show-staff not really helpful about seating us.Ventured upstairs and only 1server for all the tables. We wound up sharing a table with the overflow from a large group of very loud guys. Drinks came fairly quickly, but saw very little food coming out-family next to us stated they had been waiting 45 min. All of a sudden, everyone's food started to come out at once. Food was decent for pub grub but probably won't be back.

Fergie's pub has great beer and food. Staff was friendly. The bacon cheese sandwich and the roast pork sandwich was excellent.

Stopped by here quite unexpectedly as we were just wondering about! We love Irish pubs and have been in some of the best in Ireland. The Guinness here is just as good as that in Ireland! Friendly bar staff. Pleasant atmosphere - only thing missing was the Irish music.

Just what we wanted. A sit down with cold drink and some comfort food.Nice friendly staff.Good ambience .

Fergie's was an easy walk from my hotel. It definitely had that pub feeling. I was greeted immediately and the folks were super nice. I had Guinness on tap and they charged it with nitrogen, I guess that's better than CO2 and I'm glad they mentioned it. Since I just returned from Ireland, this place felt right at home. I had their Fergie's Angus burger, see the picture. It was quick, hot and delicious. I was checked on frequently by the waitress and well taken care of. They said the kitchen was open till midnight, so no rush. I left Fergie's a little later that evening and still felt quite safe, even though a few approached me panhandling. I don't think that is a concern, you are in the city. All in all, the food was very good, the service was very good, music went on all while I was there, and it was pleasantly loud and "pub-ish". I also include a snap shot of the menu, nice options....Enjoy.

I've been here for a drink, meals and to see shows in the "theatre" room upstairs and I don't like anything about this place. It's dirty, uncomfortable and has an odd smell (especially upstairs). I don't like the food or think the menu/ bar offering is anything special. I know many people love the place and think it's an authentic Irish pub. If you like a good noisy boozer/dive bar, with an Irish "theme" then fine, you may like it. Otherwise, steer clear.

Even without the food, we loved it. Has a true pub feel. No tv to distract you from the warm interior and the conversation. Generally very friendly. We saw Fergie himself, but he was making the rounds to his places on his bike, and seemed in no mood to chat. I must see for fans of good pubs. Great beer selection.

If you want to really enjoy a beer this is your place. The setting couldn't be better, Old tavern appearance, all in wood, great selection of music and a very nice ambiance. The important thing: They have a great selection of imported beers witch you can enjoy while listening to a live music show.

Stopped in for a pint- and a snack on Tater tots. This used to be an old German pub decades ago and the lovely wood paneling suits the new life as an authentic Irish pub. If you are lucky, owner Fergie will sit down with you and talk about his amazing story from young immigrant to proud Philadelphia philanthropist and community leader.

Service was great despite her having many tables. Burgers were amazing and a good size, not huge. Would return for sure.

We ate there many years ago when it was the Hoffman House. Food was great then and it is still great now. Not many gluten-free options, but they were able to make a nice salmon plate for me. My wife had a wonderful roast beef sandwich platter and our friend had the best mac and cheese she ever had! Price was reasonable, too. We will go back!

No sports TVs in this very authentic Irish Bar. Great pub food and atmosphere. Located in center city, so always a good crowd. Acoustic Irish jam on every Sat at 4:00. Staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Dropped in on a Saturday night for a late dinner around 8:45pm. Small but a nice pub atmosphere. Smaller and darker upstairs but it there were larger tables and it was quiet for a family dinner while the band was setting up for a 10pm start. The fish and chips had 2 small rectangular pieces of thinly and not so crispy battered fish. Chips were thick cut. Apple mango salad was topped with a lot of crumbled blue cheese to our surprise, but it was replaced promptly without. Mango and blue cheese is a rather odd pairing. Sweet potato fries were unskinned which would have been ok it they were cooked through. Mild wings were good but salty. Regular fries good but very salty. Pete's wings with coffee & brown sugar sauce are HOT. Don't be deceived if they are described to you by the waitress as being sweet. All around, average pub fare at a decent price but very much on the salty side.

Great beer selection and some vegan food. We got the seitan "wings" which was deep fried seitan chunks in hot sauce. Very big portion for just six bucks

This was not my first trip to Fergie's and it will not be my last. Small, cozy and out of the way, it isn't the kind of bar scene many people are used to. here is no television and the music doesn't destroy your ability to converse with friends or strangers. The highlight of any experience can be how you're greeted; at Fergie's you'll feel at home as soon as you walk in. The service has been, on every trip, far above the average for even fine dining establishments. It's an eclectic staff willing to talk on subjects near and far, from beer & Obama to punk rock & the History Channel. And rest assured that you won't have a dirty plate on your table for more than a minute or two and your glass won't be empty for long. If you're wandering through Philly and feel like a pint, a pleasant bartender and some very good food, this is the place to be.

This place is an authentic Irish pub. The beer selection on tap and in bottle is pretty extensive. It's not a fancy place and doesn't try to be anything more than it is. Good pub food, and always a friendly atmosphere. Jim, or Nial behind the bar are always glad to see ya, and pour a fine pint of Guinness. If you want a good place without pretense this is the place for you. Music and quizzo on the second floor and many events.

We went to Fergie's tonight to hear a band, and showed up quite early. Parking was easy in the lot immediately next door, but cost $15. The doorman, servers, and bartenders were all pleasant, and did a good job even on a very busy night. Both downstairs and upstairs were jammed with people - there was a private party upstairs until shortly before the band started. The crowd seemed young-ish to middle aged, and fairly loud but not uncomfortably so. We had already had dinner, so we decided on appetizers and drinks. My wife asked for a "fruity, girly" cocktail, with the bartenders making the recommendation. They made her a drink she liked quite a bit. The beer selection upstairs is a bit weak, but there seemed to be quite a few liquor options, and downstairs had a larger selection, too. We had the pub fries which were recommended by the bartender, but were simply salted fries - a few of the dipping sauces were fine, but not exceptional. We also tried the deluxe nachos, which were huge, meaty, but had far too much shredded lettuce - the taste was good, but again, not exceptional. The band was good, local, playful, and plenty loud. The space upstairs where they played is very tiny, and so the loud became periodically overwhelming. The seating included several large tables, and not so many smaller tables, so you're mostly forced to sit with strangers, even as a couple. I like places that give lesser known local bands a chance, so bonus points for that. Overall, we are happy but not blown away by Fergies. We would come back for another band, but probably not just to hang out or have dinner.

Fergies Pub is located in a popular area of restaurants & pubs. it is a nice - not too noisy- traditional Irish pub. They have a nice selection of draft & bottle beers. The service is friendly

We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. After traveling to Ireland we occasionally need a "fix" for our Irish wanderlust. We found Fergie's to be just the ticket. I had the Irish Stew and my Husband had the Cornbeef and Cabbage. Both of us were happy with our selections and glad for the comfort of the restaurant after a full day of sightseeing.

We stopped for a pint and something to hold us over for dinner. The French onion soup was hearty and delicious. We thought $8 for a pint was a bit high, however.

This was a nice, local bar close to our hotel. The service was extremely quick. The only drawback was how dark it was for being late afternoon. However, the food was great, the alcohol selection was good, and we were impressed by the service.

Great place for a bite to eat and a drink. I had the shepherds pie and was very pleased. I will definitely stop in next time I'm in town.

I walked down Philadelphia's 13th Street looking for reasonable prices without much luck-turned the corner and found this place.very popular on a Thursday night, and took a seat at the bar. Ordered an IPA draft and a brisket sandwich-a very safe choice in most cities. The first draft came, and was good, but they could not figure out how to tap a new keg. Asked for alternative IPA, and then for their favorite lager-awful. In the meantime, my brisket showed up. description by a Texas menu consultant (I am guessing) was very far from the cold beef and stale bread I received. The prices are reasonable, but the quality was poor. I cannot explain the place's obvious popularity. Not a place for a first time visitor, is my guess-the opposite of the best Irish bars.

Our group of 4 grabbed a high top table in this Irish Pub this past weekend and had a round of Duvel's before making our trip out to the Susquehanna Bank Center. Yeah yeah, Belgian beers in the Irish Pub... so? We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while an Irish acoustic band jammed out at a table in the corner. It was a happy atmosphere listening to them play and enjoying our strong beers, it was a shame when we had to leave to make our train... I'd certanly stop in again if I were to find myself in the area.

We visited this pub most nights of our stay. The service was excellent! The live music was outstanding! My husband is Irish and states that the pub reminds him of some of the pubs he visited in Ireland. We will definetly visit again when we return to the city.

Tucked away little pub with great atmosphere and service! The food is very delicious. We ordered hummus and pierogies for apps (unexpected, right?) but then also shepherds pie and beef stew for dinner. The best part is that it’s not too pricey. Recommended!

My wife and I were visiting Philly for two days and stayed in a hotel nearby. We happened to pop our heads in Fergie's and could have stayed all night. The barman immediately gave my wife a taste of a wine as she was not sure which to go for. This was much appreciated as it so rarely happens in a pub which is strange when it is so common to try beers before buying. The atmosphere was great and it has a nice tavern feel tot he place with all the dark wood.

My boyfriend lives right down the street from Fergie's so I have been there a handful of times. I have always enjoyed myself and keep wanting to go back. I have never eaten there or looked at the menu, but I can say that the drink prices are fair and surprisingly affordable for being in the city. It's a nice place....check it out!

We stopped in on a rainy Sunday evening when one of the more touristy Irish pubs was loud and full. This dark-paneled, small pub was comfortable right away. We had our two teenagers with us and we were welcomed in. We were too late for the love music, as the band had packed up. I had a generous plate of spicy chipotle mussels that were spicy and fabulous. My son had the bangers and mash, my husband had French onion soup, and my daughter had the grilled cheese and tomato. Everyone was pleased with their food. The Guinness was good, and nitro-draught. Skip the tourist pub and come here.

We are from out of town and wanted to go to Mcginnis' However upon opening the door it looked like the state room in the Marx brothers movie. Noisy and overcrowded we walked a few blocks to Fergies. No one to seat you so we grabbed a table in the back. Then 2 waitresses came over. Menu is a notch above good bar food. Staff was helpful and not overbearing. 2 musicians walked in and started playing, They were grand.Hamburgers I am told were good,Sheperds pie very good. By the way , the best Guiness I've had anywhere in the states . Overall, yes I would go out of my way to go back, had a warm friendly feeling.

Stopped in for a beer and was surprised by the atmosphere and service. Great local pub .Good selection of beer and drinks.

Overnighted in Philly and arrived very late. After checking in at the hotel we were all very hungry and tired. The front desk staff recommended a few places and after doing a little research from there, we decided on an authentic Irish Pub to wrap up our evening. Fergies did not disappoint! It was a very short walk from our hotel a block over. We had perogies, chowders, and fries with beer cheese—in addition to some Guinness. Even though the kitchen was close to closing they didn’t skimp on portions or flavor. Only gave this a 4 due to the noise factor—but yes, it Is a pub. It was quiet when we arrived but a few large rowdy parties came in and we were very tired and didn’t feel like like shouting to hear each other. Also, be sure to take an ID!!! Even though several of us were over 50, we had to show ID or would not be allowed in. Not sure whose rule that is but I had almost left all my stuff back at the hotel and this would’ve made for a not so pleasant experience. Enjoy if you go and take your appetite!

Fergie's Pub was such a surprise. I don't know what I expected, but it was better than I ever thought it would be. First of all, no tv's blaring and making it difficult to hear what your mates are saying. Secondly, the food was first rate and I can't wait to go again and try more of the menu items. Thirdly, I found the atmosphere very close to the pubs I visited in Ireland. It was very cozy and the wait staff were very accomodating and friendly.

Love Fergie's for the reasons that the other reviewers have mentioned, so I just want to make a quick note about parking because you obviously can't even begin to enjoy the ambience until your car is in good hands. So, having spent quite a bit of time driving around today trying to find a spot, here's what I recommend (at least if you're going to be there on a Saturday afternoon/evening). There's a lot immediately across from Fergie's and a few garages within a block or so, but for 3 hours you're going to stuck paying upwards of $20 at these places. Waste of money...avoid them. However, there's a garage on Sansom and 10th that will only cost you $10, so if you don't mind walking a few extra blocks, this appears to be your cheapest bet.

I sought healthy meals. I liked the grilled salmon served with quinoa and vegetables. I ate this dish daily. It was readily prepared for lunch or dinner. Since I was attending a meeting, I did not sample the vast selection of beers and other beverages.

Best bar I've been to in town! Please is awesome. Bartender Sylvia is awesome and friendly French dip sandwich was awesome! Cool vibe inside. Please will probably become my new watering hole!

Went for dinner here with family. Basic pub foods, and was enjoyed by all. Went back for drinks at night, that was very enjoyable as well. Parking can be tough near by, but with a little work you can find some place kindof affordable. My beer and burger were good, and service was fine, so color me happy.

Stopped in here with some friends for a quick drink and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was nice and they had live music. The girl singing and playing guitar had a great voice and was very personable. Fun place!

My husband and I stopped in Fergie's Pub after we finished having dinner across the street. We saw a sign for craft beer and figured we'd stop in and see if they had anything interesting to try. We sat down and ordered two local brews and really enjoyed it. The bartender at Fergie's was great! Once we ordered our first two drinks he started to get a feel for what we liked and recommended us a few things to try out. All of his suggestions were great for us. He found out we were out of state and filled us in a little bit about the local breweries and what to look out for. He gave us the name of three liquor stores that he knew in the area that might sell some craft beer. He was incredibly knowledgeable about beer especially to beer sold within the area. I know if we lived in the area we would be regulars at this bar. Great selection, nice atmosphere, and an amazing staff!

My husband and I ate there for lunch. It was very nice but a little dark. The food was very good and service was great. The bartender was very nice and explained the history that he knew of the place from what it was originally and where the wood on the walls came from. Would certainly go there again when in Phila.

Went there with friends for Thursday night trivia, which they do upstairs. The waitress / bartender was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Plenty of beer selections, both on tap and bottles, and the bar food (we had cheesesteak spring rolls and tater tots) was excellent. The trivia master was very good, with some excellent trivia questions. Not too big of a crowd for trivia, but maybe it was an off night. Overall, a great place to go and hang out!!!

We were in from a day of traveling and were just looking for a small dinner and a beer. Fergie's was a walk from the hotel. They were understaffed for our visit with only one bartender and one server. She was obviously stretched. The meal was satisfactory and fit the bill, but nothing above average.

Got there around 5:00 pm and while there was a loud group at the bar the rest of the place was pretty empty. We were greeted nicely, ordered gin and tonics while we checked the menu. After traveling all day we just wanted a light dinner however my husband ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that had tater tots in the sandwich! I ordered nachos with chicken added and a pile of nachos showed up! Neither meal was light! The nachos are definitely shareable and I don’t recommend getting the chicken added as it had been marinated/sauced with an herb mixture that wasn’t compatible with nachos IMHO. The fries accompanying my husband’s sandwich had some not so fresh ones included. Overall fast service, good G&T, lots of food.

Stopped in for a beverage. The place was homey and inviting. Great place to sit and talk. Touch tunes available. Bar tenders are friendly.

Fergie's Pub. I stumbled upon Fergie's while recently in Philly because they offer Thursday night trivia titled Quizzo and the group I was with regularly plays trivia back home. The place was packed, the food was good, and the alcohol was reasonably priced. We enjoyed Fergie's so much that we returned the following evening for Live Band Karaoke which was even more packed than the night before and incredibly fun. If you're looking for a small spot with a lot of culture and flare then I would highly recommend Fergie's Pub.

It doesnt look much from the outside and is surrounded by building work but dont let that put you off. Service was excellent and food enjoyable.

Visited on a very busy Saturday night. Band with karaoke was playing and it was a hoot. Despite being very packed we still got drinks quickly upstairs. Downstairs was just as packed but we easily were able to get in to get a drink. Staff was friendly on both floors. Bathroom downstairs was overall orderly for such a busy night.

I always enjoy going to Fergies, They have food for tasty food for vegetarians, great beers, and the atmosphere, and the place make me feel comfortable. Good value for a nice pub.

Best Guinness in the city

This was great local feeling pub. When we got there in the afternoon there was a local group sitting at one of the tables playing Irish songs. Staff was extremely friendly and service was great. Had such a great time we went back after dinner and there was a band playing upstairs. Same exact treatment by the staff. This would be a place I would visit again next time I am in the area. Tip - ask the servers for a recommendation on what to drink, I did and was not disappointed.

Two bartenders no service Couldnt bother with customers

We were having a decent night until we were verbally attacked for being Irish. I wouldn’t recommend this place

This place was a diamond in the rough a very nice place with good drinks....it was SUPER dark in there but nice.

I always stop here for a drink when I get to Philly. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Great place to have a drink or a few.

Stopped for a few drinks and the waitress was super nice! Good price on drinks and had some good specials.

This is a small pub, doesn't look like much from the outside but great on the inside. Very pleasant and relaxing with a lot of gorgeous old dark wood. Good beer choices and good food. I got one of the specials which was meatloaf with mashed potatoes gravy and broccoli. Good food for a damp rainy day. The meatloaf was REALLY good, better than my own! Good size serving. Other peoples food looked really good too. Would return to this bar to relax, eat and drink.

We stopped here because it was close to the hotel. The sandwich was good and they fixed a to go order to take back to our daughter. Overall a nice place. Atmosphere was good too.

Hidden a bit off the main drag where plenty of higher priced restaurants will lure you to wait an hour or more for noise and stress, Fergie's is a great little spot for a relaxing bite and drink after a long walk in the neighborhood. We had a terrible time finding a restaurant on a Monday night. There were a few with long wait times and high prices ($15 tacos etc.), and we were getting desperate. Then my wife spotted Fergie's Pub, we went inside, and we camped at a table immediately. It was so relaxed and homey. The waitress and bartender (Irish) were down to earth and pleasant. The beer on tap hit the spot, and the $10 Shepherd's Pie (accompanied by a large Romaine salad) was delicious. I really liked this little pub. It wasn't pretentious at all, and it was a great place for the family to relax and eat without ruining the bank.

The food is terrible . And the bar tender is disrespectful. To the customer .. this place is not for the tourist tom Find another place. To get a beer Many other places where you can have a great time and beer.

We stopped here on a whim while visiting family in Philly. What a nice little pub!! Nice beer selection and friendly staff. There was a group of musicians sitting at a corner table playing some Irish tunes while we were there. We only ate a couple of appetizers, but both were very good. (Fried pickes and pub fries). Very enjoyable.

We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for a beer after a day of touring Philly. What a great little place! There was a six piece group sitting at a corner table playing Irish music and a very festive crowd. We had a couple Guiness and a couple shots of Jamison's and listened to the music for awhile. This turned out to be great stop.

Great pub for dinner and drinks with friends. Service is excellent and friendly. Found this place by accident when the restaurants close by were to crowded. It was a great find.

Spontaneous afternoon stop after Modigliani at the Barnes. Nice atmosphere. No tv. Good. Understand they sometimes have Irish music, none of this on this afternoon, but sounds pleasant. Waitress was fabulous, had us try several unfamiliar beers before ordering. Food was simple but very good. Overall experience very positive and would recommend

Gerat pub, better food then most restaurants, downstairs is chill with no TVs and upstairs always seem s to have something going on like trivia or live band karaoke though I have never ventured upstairs.

We came here for dinner while staying in City Center for a trip to Philadelphia. The hostess knew to put us (with our 4 elementary aged kids) upstairs, away from the other patrons. Mike the bartender allowed our kids to play on the band stage (which was not in use) while serving us drinks and dinner. There wasn't a kids menu (like almost everywhere we went in Philly) but we found fries that were unseasoned (and delicious!) as well as pita and humus for them to enjoy. I enjoyed a Guinness (on tap) with my Creamy Bacon and Potato Soup. All in all, I highly recommend this place! I would like to return sometime when there's live music. I'm sure it's a blast!

This doesn’t look much from the outside, but the food and beer are really good. We chanced upon this as it was just around the corner from our hotel. We initially just intended to have a beer, but saw the food and stayed. We had great service from a very friendly young couple. Recommended.

Just what we wanted. A sit down with cold drink and some comfort. food.Nice friendly staff.Good ambience .

We were heading elsewhere but stopped off at this bar and enjoyed some beers and comfort food. Chose to sit upstairs to enjoy the band playing Irish music. Very welcoming, good service and food.

Fergie's is a Philadelphia institution, for beer-lovers and others who like the ambiance of a classic old pub. A popular lunch spot, Fergie's also features live music in an upstairs room. The downstairs bar room is small and cozy. Long wooden bar leading to an area with table service. On a recent lunch visit, my party of three were greeted and seated by a smiling waitress who immediately made us feel welcome. The food was quite good -- nothing exotic, just well-made appetizers and sandwiches. I had an appetizer sampler, with meaty and tasty wings, crispy chicken strips and fried mozarella. Nice assortment of draft beers. Very reasonable prices. This would be a good place for tourists to sample a bit of Philly. It's a quick walk from the Reading Terminal Market and train station.

Fergie’s Bar looks like a basic Irish bar from the outside and while inside the interior is also a basic Irish bar. But the food, drinks and service, that is another story – not at all ordinary. I was truly amazed by the quality of food and drinks. Sure, the bar is heavily beer focused, but they also have a nice wine selection. If you’re not into beer, the cocktails are top notch as well. My server was Sylvia, who was an absolute gem – friendly, pleasant, professional and made excellent menu recommendations. Visited here a few times and so have had numerous dishes. There is some typical bar food such as wings, nachos and such, but they are good. Other highlights on the menu are the mussels (two different kinds!), salmon and sweet potato fries. I never had something that I did not enjoy. Wash it all down with one of the many beers, wines or creative cocktails made by Sylvia – she bartends too! Also, don’t leave without trying one of their desserts. It’s always something different and always divine. Fergie’s sometimes has live music, sometimes an Irish band with Irish music and on weekend upstairs they have live bands. So yes, there are several Irish bars in Philadelphia, but get out of the tourist trap ones and come to Fergie’s for a more authentic experience.

We slid in here for a cold one but didn't spend much time. The bartender was very friendly and the inside of the place was very clean and cozy.

They need to advertise their brunch better, it was deserted at 11.30am. The food was great. My husband said it was some of the best French toast he’s had. They also have a lot of veggie options. I had the veggie breakfast burrito. Tasty. Would come here again.

Stopped into Fergie's on a Sunday night during a recent trip to Philly. Wasn't crowded at all which was nice, and there was a musician playing in the corner which provided nice background noise. The service was good and they had a nice variety of draft and bottled beers, also shot and beer specials as well. There was an upstairs but we didn't check it out, just stayed by the bar in the downstairs area. I imagine it gets more crowded on weekends, but for a Sunday night it was a great place to have a few beers and catch up with some friends. Recommended.

Excellent food and wide choice of beers...really friendly staff...we took various types of meat and sandwiches of different varieties and they were all excellent. we will definitely be back..

We'd been to Fergie's several times on crowded Saturday afternoons - love the music. Most recently visiting for a real late lunch it was a bit different. The food was pretty standard pub fare. Fries were great, however. Lots of beer options. Service was excellent.
Fun bar
We stopped in for a break during a busy day of touring the City of Brotherly Love. We enjoyed the Nachos, the beer and wine very much. Service was prompt and friendly. Lots of people were there, a good sign that Fergies is doing something right.
