By dbidin |

Food selection and quality is very good. Staff are great very friendly and efficient. Not a big place but extensive menu.

Delightful

By Maria G |

What a delightful place for breakfast! We met my daughter through this morning. The espresso was authentic. The bagel with cream cheese was wonderful. Chatting with the New Yorkers at the other tables was an added bonus. All the employees were friendly. I wish I lived in New York so I could eat here every morning.

Nice atmosphere and food, questionable payment policies

By Jkl |

Had a nice breakfast here. Mushroom omelette was very good. Friendly seeming place. Waitress was very nice. Note this is a cash only place but there is an ATM in the basement. I think I got the same unannounced 20% service charge as others reported but didn't notice. I also did not see signs or notices that it was cash only anywhere. My breakfast was almost $40 before tip and that doesn't make sense looking back at the menu and adding it up. I left another $10 tip not thinking about it - if I'd known there was a 20% charge I would've left no tip or whatever change was left from $40.

Lovely, authentic find

By Mollyy92 |

I have an Italian friend, and the food here is just like her mother cooks. Nothing fancy, but authentic, home cooked, tasty food. Reasonable prices and good portions too! So pleased I stumbled upon this place!

Authentic Home cooked style Italian Food.

I had literally flown in from London jet lagged.I was staying in BOWERY and wondered to this hidden gem in the village.Great welcoming from staff.I decided to carb load as I was preparing for a long run next day with my running club Midnight Runners.I ordered Lasagne with veg .It was out of this world.Of all the Lasagne dishes I had in USA by far best.huge portion, fantastic flavours and eclectic atmosphere.I didn'need to eat next day as that meal kept me going the next day for my 10k run which completed.Fiat cafe you have one very happy customer from the uk

Wonderful Breakfast Spot!

By misopiso88 |

I was in NYC for business and decided on breakfast at Cafe FIAT! Interior is inviting and playful. Food was delicious! Everyone was very nice. Highly recommend if you are looking for food or just a cappuccino.

Tasty pastas

By avemundi |

A small cozy place, obviously Fiat themed, with a good selection of tasty pastas, much more authentic than most places in Little Italy. Prices are very reasonable. Service was attentive.

love this place

By dan d |

great food, staff, service, decor. love the coffee, eggs Benedict. outdoor seating. pretty waitress.

Small restaurant, greatly satisfied!

By CoisDeZweed |

The dishes are very nice and the staff friendly. We hade a very good pasta and these dishes were also fairly prices in my opinion. It is a cosy restaurant. Small and a great atmosphere.

Extremely disappointed - pasta was undercooked and flavourless.

By Roam632862 |

We chose this place due to the great reviews on all sites. I was with a group of 6. 3 people couldn’t eat their pasta. The pasta with bacon tasted like artificial bacon bits. The pasta was undercooked, lacked seasoning and was dry. The waitress never asked how our meals were until the end of the night. 3 people had barely touched their meals and we told her 3 of the meals were not good. The pasta bowls were still full. When someone from our party asked for our bill, she said she couldn’t do anything about our complaints because she came to our table Twice to check on our meal. This was not true. We were then told they only accept cash. So many great restaurants in NYC. This was a big disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone!!!

Great place for lunch

By Katrina van Dulm |

Great place for lunch, we had a panini and spaghetti and meatball pasta and it was delicious - very quaint

Breakfast was perfect

By Laurie H |

Had breakfast here with my sweetheart 9:30 am or so on a Monday. Not busy at all. Cute cute place - very small-dinerish but with a full menu and bar. Tiny place. Our server was friendly and welcoming. We got coffee right away - nice strong Americanos - says American coffee on the menu, but it was Americano. I ordered the avocado on toast with a poached egg. He ordered the gravlox egg Benedict. Amazing fast service and DELICIOUS - both dishes. Definitely recommend.

bad service

By Damjan V |

very bad service, foof averahe, price high. i would not recomend thos to anyome. we got recomendation from our tourist guide. they extra for service plus tips

Better brunch than breakfast

By jmtribo |

Strongly recommend the scrumble eggs ciabatta. Coffe is good enough. Service is good. I would not recommend it for breakfast with kids, there are not good options for them. I would recommend it for couples and brunch.

Cozy quarters for authentic Italian!

By Jason C |

After a few hours shopping on Broadway, we needed a place to eat and rest our feet, and luckily stopped here at the Fiat Cafe. Although it’s your typical close quarters of NYC, we were seated quickly and found it quite cozy. A bottle of red for the adults and lemon sodas for the kids, and pasta for everyone was a great way to warm up on a cold day. Authentic Italian in every way, a great way to experience a meal in NYC. I recommend starting with the bruschetta, and ending with a latte and bread pudding. Oh- Cash only! (they have an ATM on premises).

Brunch

By S G |

First time here, place is small but pricing is amazing for NYC. Loved it. Will be back soon! Scrambled eggs with mixed greens were really on point.

great breakfast

By Les D |

went to FIAT 3 times for breakfast. Lovely food and very nice staff especially the French lady who I assume is the owner. Extremely good value and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.

Piccolo place with a large atmosphere

By AndieC14 |

We visited on a very busy Friday night and had a large desire for great tasting homemade pasta. The French hostess made sure we got a table after about 30 mins and it was worth the wait . A small carafe of Sangiovese , lasagne, carbonara, rigatoni bolonese and spaghetti meatballs were all great . Fresh ciabatta and olive oil and we were all delighted . We recommend it .

Grea authentic pasta

By Chris H |

We just happened to stumble across this very small cafe trying to get out of the crowds of the festival. The service was excellent and the pasta was to die for. One thing to remember is this is cash only restaurant.

Great cosy place for brunch

By Kevin T |

Small, cosy, good food, really fast and efficient service. The staff are friendly and the decor is really nice. A great place for brunch.

Small portions, pricey

By Getaway383476 |

Prepared with care, small portions, quite expensive. Payment can only be made in cash and an additional 20% service charge will be added to the bill.

Pleasant and on target!

By XJ750 |

Popped in for breakfast w/my party of 3 on a Saturday. Busy but reasonable, no wait, not loud. Pleasant and attentive wait staff. Excellent pancakes and scrambled eggs. Cash only!! ATM is down the stairs. Neat Fiat decor.

Excellent breakfasts

By Maurizio D |

The food is excellent and so is the cost. After trying other things, we decided to return every day for our breakfast

Tasty Food and Great Value

By Mary C |

Great selection of food that was reasonably priced. Knowledgeable staff was able to recommend delectable dishes and wine. I had the fish stew, which was wonderful - very fresh fish. Others I was with had different pasta dishes, which each enjoyed. It is on the small side, which adds to its ambiance. Cash only!

Nice vibe but average food- great price

By Avgaad |

Cute place- very small and tables very close together but that was fine- added to the ambiance of a busy, neighborhood type restaurant. Food was just average- veal parm with spaghetti and bucatini cacio de pepe which was actually less than average- tasteless “cheese liquid” of some kind covered with pepper. Side dish of broccolini was great. Best part was the bill came to $50 which included one glass of wine- looked out the window to make sure we were in Manhattan. I would go back and try again. Oh, the server was maybe one of the worst ever- didn’t utter a word just stood there to take our order and then reappeared with the check. Nothing in between - kind of like what you would get in a diner or coffee shop.

Great breakfast!

By AdamCJP |

Very welcoming staff and nice menu for breakfast. We had the granola, pancakes, fruitsalad and scrabbled eggs. All were of great quality and with a quick, and super friendly, service. Love this place and would suggest it to anyone!

A great place for pasta.

By Bobbinbirdeus |

Our second visit to this quaint cafe. The pasta is so tasty and the service received was warm and friendly. We really enjoyed our food. Lots of locals frequent here.

Nice little place

By Lars M |

Great and cozy little restaurant with a superb breakfast. Really a must try if your are in the neighborhood. Will try dinner later tonight as well but looks tasty

Watch for the 18% Service Charge added before you Tip

By Steve E |

The service was slow as only 1 lady managing all the tables , food was ok, but the shock was the bill. They added an 18% service change , then expected 18% plus tip. Glass of wine was very small. They have pictures of Classic Fiat 500's everywhere , but didn't seem that interested in the cars if you owned one.

Lots of very small cars...

By dHous |

This Fiat-themed restaurant serves good traditional Italian food, spaghetti, lasagna, eggplant parm. Italian wines. The place is tiny like the cars it is names after, service was good. A less crowded alternative to the main drag of Little Italy.

Interesting cafe in great area to explore

By Doug london |

Being winter in New York there was only so much sightseeing and walking one could do and we happened across this super welcoming cafe to get out of the cold. We ordered lunch from the Italian menu and it did not disappoint, although a simple affair it tasted great we went for pasta dishes with the lasagne excellent. The cafe was popular and a bit quirky, they only take cash but have a cash machine to help out, they also forgot one of our parties order but we’re so mortified by that they gave us a free dessert no quibbles just plain help to put right what went wrong and it worked, tiramisu was great! Overall a better than expected experience and would recommend

Good food

By doris v |

We enjoyed our visit here walking through Little Italy and had a lovely lunch in this friendly cafe and the service was good and staff very friendly.

Great Food But Service is Constantly Disappointing

By collegeparent9 |

This is a very cute neighborhood spot. They have great food. Especially brunch. Been here 4-5 times and sent a number of people. For some reason almost every time the service has issues. They forget to bring things (happened multiple times), or ask that an English Muffin be well cooked so it does not get soggy, and this gets ignored (1 time it was done perfectly, the other 2 times my request was ignored). Writing this review in the hope they try to improve customer service. It will go a long way to getting them more business.

Great place for breakfast

By Kristin S |

I ate here for breakfast recently with my husband and 6 year old daughter. The food selection was great, prices very fair, and our service was absolutely wonderful. Our 6 year old was being a little grumpy, but the lady waiting on us fixed her up a special hot chocolate, and it helped cheer her up (thank you, that was so sweet!!). Also, I tasted the hot chocolate, and it was delicious. I had coffee and French toast, and both were wonderful. Everything our family ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend!!

Breakfast

By Deborah T |

Really lovely find off beaten track- best egg white omelette with spinach and goats cheese and eggs Benedict. Would return if had any more breakfast days left.

Great Brunch Food

By MsCasualTravelor |

Went with a few friends for brunch. It's a tiny place, so make reservations. Had great brunch food, prompt service at tiny tables. Only drawback for me is while they make a great latte, they don't have decaf (heard the best coffee places don't).

Fantastic and friendly

By jayforz |

A party of 6 dropped in for breakfast and it was the best breakfast we had in NYC. The waitress was friendly and the food was very good. A must eat if you're in the area

Perfect Little Gem of a Cafe in New York

By dhontour2016 |

Whilst holidaying in New York over Xmas we found ourselves walking one morning around Bowery / Little Italy/ Chinatown looking for a late breakfast/ brunch place. We decided to give this little cafe a try….What a great call it was. Really busy but the lady that greeted us managed to find us a table. It just seemed a really buzzing friendly little gem of a cafe. I was tempted to have a little glass of Prosecco but opted instead for Pancakes / Fresh Fruit / Maple Syrup & a flat white coffee whilst my son had similar & my wife eggs / toast & smashed avocado The pancakes were the fluffiest I’ve tasted & were almost too much to eat. I’d loved to have had an evening here because I think the atmosphere & friendliness of the staff would have been awesome, alas all good things come to an end. Thanks folks for a lovely welcome & super food.

Fortunate to have found this out of the way cafe!

By deezmayer |

Small spot, not easy to find but so glad we did. Service was excellent; space limited but were able to have conversations w/privacy. Food was great; requested more bread and were delighted when server brought us a whole loaf. Soup bowl was more than generous size. Although busy was not rushed out; only draw back was the coffee was either old and/or way too strong.

Great food and a very homey vibe!!

By Eener A |

Exceptional service at this cozy hole in the wall Italian eatery in SOHO! Food is great and well prepared and fairly priced.

An absolute gem

By Gallagherkim |

When you're in NY with the family, the exchange rate is terrible and you've been out all day and you're starving and cold ... This place is an oasis. Simple, perfect comfort food, beautifully simple, perfectly cooked pasta dishes, reasonable prices and such a cosy welcome. Breakfasts are beautiful too - stacks of pancakes with fruit (too much for one) Perfect poached eggs ... great coffee. We just kept coming back!

Fast Service, good food

By MarkW55 |

A simple and atmospheric little cafe offering good food, quick service and a glass of wine in the busy Little Italy area. Prices were good.

Very small dining, decent food, prices a bit high

By Brix510 |

The food here is pretty decent, but the tables are spaced right next to each other and then stuff isn't very friendly. The prices are a bit high too for being in the lower east side.

Fulfilling breakfast

By Meral Demir |

This restaurant is located near little Italy. We went here for breakfast. I had granola and my friend had pancakes. The taste of the food was good, the portions were big enough.

Great for all meals

By Sean H |

We ate breakfast here twice and lunch another time - all in a few days! Fiat has a delightful French waitress/manager who is charming and so happy to oblige. The kitchen turns out well-sized and crafted foods from across the Italian regions, with some local favourites for breakfast. We were sorry to have our final meal of our holiday here but it was a fitting finale to reflect the great venue.

Small, friendly with a variety of Italian food offerings

By traveldog149 |

This is a small friendly Italian cafe with a varied menu and great food offerings. For my dinner meal I chose the chicken picata with arugula salad and a side of broccoli rabe. I needed my greens and they delivered. My friend had penne pasta with meatballs and broccoli rabe as well. Flavors were great, portions generous, and service excellent. With so many restaurants in Little Italy we found a gem.

We stopped here for a breakfast

By OutofKansas2000 |

We stopped here for a breakfast that was wonderful. Lots of egg options as well as several vegetarian choices. Head a lovely latte. The dinner menu looked lovely and worth a try.

The best coffee we had during our week in New York

By Cathy H |

We didn't eat there but this was simply the best coffee we drank during our holiday. The cafe is a tiny, charming little Italian place that I would love to have returned to for a meal were it not so far from our hotel.

Precious little restaurant

By girl in the middle |

Been here several times and today was another winner! Breakfast served until 4pm, so delicious - great flavors, fresh ingredients and people that care about the experience you have at their Cafe. You will be NOT disappointed at this little gem on Mott at Spring.

Not what it looks likeon the outside, much better.

By Ron K |

This place will surprise you. Charming Italian cafe with great food, friendly service and a cozy ambiance. We stood in front ofit expecting a run of the mill cafe. Big surprise. Very clean kitchen.

Hole in the wall found by accident.

By Bigkahuna |

Very nice small place, found it on google maps, and was happy i did. Inexpensive dishes quite flavorful. Highly recommend this place. fresh squeezed juices, good fruit, excellent omelette's and french toast will eat here again.

Bon Appetite in the Big Apple

By arlette W |

The restaurant is tiny but has a big punch!!! The service and friendly staff was a highlight…The Eggs Benedict were divine, and I am a snob when it comes to Eggs Benedict, my daughter had hers with the freshest smoked salmon and a side of equally fresh avacado. I am looking forward to when I can get back there. You can get brunch every day!!!!!

Awesome breakfast and great coffee

By James C |

Eggs benedict was excellent with a couple of perfect poached eggs. Coffee was the best I had in my time in NYC. Girlfriend also very much enjoyed her smoked salmon dish. Be warned it's another 'cash only' place!

A perfect 10

By Robert53403 |

This has become our favorite NYC cafe for breakfast and lunch. Comfortable setting, very friendly waitstaff and owner, and perfect, delicious fresh food - best taste and ingredients outside of Italy. A very special place.

Nice breakfast

By Sofia P |

Went there for Saturday breakfast. Cozy place, good eggs on toast. espresso was good, affordable price.

Refreshing

By Angela09Dayton_Ohio |

Great spot for fresh salads of many kinds and cappuccino that hits the spot! For our group, the portions were generous and prices reasonable.

Very good value for Manhattan

By naveone |

I would probably say closer to 4 stars for food and service, though given the value, it definitely deserves the extra star. One of the cheaper meals I’ve had in NYC, though quality was still up there with the rest. Would be a great regular spot and good coffee too!

Tasty and flavorful!

By geezerhippie |

Traveling with friends from Ga. and Fla. We all love home made food. Headed for Lombardis Pizza, but when we got there they had a 30 min wait (small place), and we had afternoon reservations for Museum tours. So we exited and walked next door to the Fiat Cafe. Our “Lucky Day”!!! Also tiny space, but the aroma filling the room was an indication of what was to come. Quick and friendly service, very reasonable prices , and and yummy delicious food!! I ordered Spaghetti Puttanesca, ( ate every savory bite!) and had 2 glasses of red wine. Others had Bruschetta , Eggplant Parm, salads and wine. Everybody raved about how great their food was. ****** “Note to diners”- many restaurants in the NoLita /Little Italy area only take cash . One of the best meals we had during our 10 day journey around NYC and Long Island!

Great pasta

By Ursula P |

Dinner at Fiat Cafe was great, Burrata was fresh and creamy, linguine and clams with panchetta was delicious and their sangria is delicious as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Fabulous pit stop

By CD |

We came across this place early morning and popped in for breakfast. The food was exceptional. Really well presented, just the right portion and flavoursome. The service was really friendly.

Fun Eats in SoHo

By Mo C |

Small but fun restaurant in SoHo. We were a party of 12 and the service was really good. The food is varied and all was fresh and tasty. Casual atmosphere.

Great Food

By Brice H |

From the moment you enter you are greeted with a smile. I went here for lunch and the Pasta was marvelous! Let's not forget the Tiramisu, it was delicious.

Good honest food

By designliving1965 |

If you want to sample Italian in a simple, friendly style, then The Fiat Cafe is a must. Everyone I have recommended this to have loved it. Go. It's great food at cheap prices.

Nice Spot for Causal Dinner

By Joseph M |

We had dinner in their outside seating on the street. I bit cramped. Food was very good. We had the Bucatini A'matriciana ($19) and Fish Stew ($22). Glasses of wine - $13.50. Service was average. Typical value for NYC. We will go back. Cash only. Fun vibe in a nice neighborhood.

In a neighborhood with endless possibilities.

By Phayao13 |

As a restaurant owner you have to have a clear profile, and you hear from the name, they have.Wonder are however there when the waitress breaks in French. The menu is clear, however, a large number of pasta dishes.Rigatoni Bolognese I cook however, better at home. But that was the only down point in the protocol.Charming, friendly and a really fantastic attentive waitress

Fabulous, value for money food. Great venue

By atowers14 |

Great service, cute cafe, fabulous food. The confit duck pasta was glorious. Great value, thank you. Went with teenagers who were also very impressed!

Great small cafe

By 421Traveler_123 |

A small cafe with great ambiance, coffee and food. Plenty of options for vegetarians. Make sure to have a reservation on the weekend.

Not a tasty dinner place

By Being_Bine |

We went for dinner and took some wine, a salad and pasta. I have to say: service was great, very kind and flexible stuff. But the food was really not worth it: salad did not have any taste, pasta was not home made. If you just need a bite though ...

Excellent lynch

By ET0703 |

My husband and I went to the Fiat cafe for lunch, excellent food and service. I can highly recommend the chicken panini.

V good coffee

By Harrilexa |

A small cafe with an Italian menu and the smell of great food cooking. We only needed coffee. The best we've had on New York so far. Nice rich chocalatey flavour. Perfect for mid morning.

Nice place

By Danny B |

Nice relaxed place for some proper egg breakfast. Coffee could be better though but that might be my personal flavor.

still delicious

By jeremi d |

in this restaurant you can not deceive, the food and the welcome is always perfect. we share a bruschetta an appetizer, and we took a lasagna and a milanese cottoletta for the entree. it was very good. I recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert which was exceptional. so this place is incoutournable in NYC.

Good place for good pasta at a reasonable price

By LBOU123 |

I recommend this very good address, already mentioned in Le Routard, but which is definitely worth the detour. We ate some good pasta, including pasta with anchovies but there are many other possibilities. The price is very reasonable, between 15 and 20 dollars for the main course. We met the boss, Stephane, who was very friendly.

Good

By Ironman007 |

Nice little restaurant, recommended by a local. Good value for money, Very good breakfast. Cash payment. contactless not accepted but distributor available if you have the card.

A fly in food

By Linda A |

Very rich until a fly came out in the food and the waitress told us that she could not do anything because she was in the air 🤢 very bad attitude

Favourite Place in Nolita

By Drakson90 |

My husband, brother and sister in law had breakfast nearly everyday at Cafe Fiat. We were staying right next store in an apartment. Amazing service, food and ambience. Always felt welcome and Annemarie was an exceptional waitress who is actually the owner. We loved Annemarie so much we wanted to take her home. Annemarie even remembered each of our coffee orders and one day she shouted us a round. All the breakfast we had were exceptional in flavour and plentiful. We nearly tried every breakfast option on the menu. My favourite was the french toast. My husband loved the oatmeal. We also returned for our last dinner at Cafe Fiat and all the pasta/salad/desert we had was tasty and fresh. The have a great wine list to compliment the food. Love the fact it is not complicated to order and you feel very comfortable in the surrounds. Thank you Annmarie for the wonderful memory and your warm hospitality to us during our trip.

Great local Cafe

By TreeDeeTraveler |

Needed some Brunch after a Tenement Museum visit and found this local Cafe on line. Our omeletes were superb - made the French way. Service was quick and attentive. Conversations with the locals always interesting. And of course all the Fiat 500 decor was an extra added touch.

Cute little cafe, great atmosphere and great food

By Peter W |

Great little cafe with friendly staff and good food. Wine reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend it.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE IN NY!

By Sandra S |

I’m on vacation with my family and we are so happy to have stumbled upon Fiat Cafe! My daughters loved the French toast and the fluffy pancakes. My husband’s omelette with spinach and goat cheese was to die for. The oatmeal was outstanding, I was very pleased to have found a restaurant that serves oatmeal. I had high expectations and they were met! The service was phenomenal. I was so happy to be able to sit and enjoy my time with my family without feeling rushed.

Great Little Find

By Ricky35345 |

We were walking around and shopping in SOHO. We had been fortunate enough to have found a parking spot on Mott St on corner of Green. Going back to car we saw this small inviting place and sat at a small 2 top. Waitress was friendly and we ordered a bottle of wine. Then had dinner. Food was tasty, hot and came out quickly. Nice find.

Breakfast indulgences

By Richard R |

Cafe Fiat is still great. Trekked there for breakfast on three of our four recent mornings from close to the Williamsburg Bridge; we can't resist the French Toast. On the last visit it was pouring with rain, there was a confusion over umbrellas as we started to leave and the French lady in charge thrust an excellent umbrella into my wife's hands, insisting that we took it. That's customer service.

Ravioli Of course !

By Anthony G |

It is like being in Grandma's kitchen back home, I have been going there since they opened - My favorite : Bruschetta, Ravioli with Ricotta and of course the Tiramisu ;-) Family business, very authentic, staff super friendly and affordable.

Excellent brunch

By The England Family |

We spent 4 days in New York and this was probably our best meal - fantastic variations on eggs benedict for brunch, including with gravlox, lovely fresh pancakes, good coffee. Recommended. In a nice quieter part of the city too.

Amazing small place

By Keren R |

In the middle of the rain I found that Amazing small place with a smiling waitress and a great brunch.

Great italian restaurant

By Dutchbennie |

A local advised this Ittle italian restaurant. Its cosy , has a small terrace and great food.We had a great diner in this place, especially the main course , pappardelle, was wonderful. We enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff and service. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast!

By Heleen P |

Be early and you have the best breakfast spot in Soho. Great pancakes, eggs en Coffee. Perfect toast made from ciabatta. Very friendly personel!

Useless

By Alex S |

Very poor! Even though there were only 4 tables taken my order of Eggs Benedict had still not arrived after 45 minutes! When I politely asked what was happening the rude waitress snapped back “we have a delivery order, you gotta wait!” So I left….don’t go, there are better places in Nolita like the Butcher’s daughter.

Great Italian Food

By tpox11 |

We fell into this small restaurant by chance, and we're glad we did. The eggplant parmigiana was fresh and tasty, and polenta with mushrooms was the closest I've ever had in a restaurant to the polenta my grandmother used to make. (That's a good thing.) Service was excellent, and the price was comparable to prices at other restaurants in the area.

Supernice little Italian restaurant

By Adam E |

Super cosy and appealing Italian restaurant. Interior very rustic, pasta servings ample and delicate and the overall service super. Went there for dinner, but am sure that they do an equally excellent job both morning and midday. Nice place!

Quaint cafe.

By Sarah-Jane J |

This cute cafe was on our list of must go to places. I have my own fiat car and loved the interior of this cafe. We sat outside on our visit as it was a hot day. The staff were very welcoming, the food was delicious. Prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend. Was also recommended to us by a local.

Delicious food and friendly service

By JLJNL |

Delicious food and very friendly service without all the queuing of other nearby restaurant options.

Exciting Name

By mytravelindex |

I went to this place with my friends as the name is very exciting. I saw lot of different portrait of Fiat cars. Ordered latte, french toast & pan cake. I wish pan cake could have been better. Nice cozy place to spent time over chit chatting with friends.

BreakfastDelight

By Frederic P |

This is the third year I have eaten breakfast here and it is a hidden jewel. Small, but very intimate. It has a few outside cafe tables, and is an open air cafe. A great staff that is always friendly and attentive. The omelets are wonderful, and they have the best coffee in Manhattan. Just remember that they do not take credit cards, only cash.

Dinner, family style

By SandNSea4me C |

Wonderful little cafe, delicious comfort food, priced right. Eggplant parmigiana was absolutely devine. Veal parmigiana was cooked perfect. Meatball panini was a bit hit, as well. Highlight of our table was the Gnocchi w/peas & pancetta in alfredo. So incredible, that I am going to attempt ("attempt")to create that dish at home... This cafe is a "must" when in the area- they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We WILL return! *** Note: Cash only, no cards.

Bad

By Francois C |

Cold lasagne, service with no smile Micro waved but then cheese was awful Forget it I don’t understand the previous customers

Great Cafe

By CJC76 |

We were staying just down the road from this little cafe and had breakfast a couple of times there. It was exactly what I had hoped for, from our trip to New York; a well run, independent business giving you that authentic New York experience. If you are in the area (or even if you are not) it is worth making a trip out to it. We had breakfast but the evening menu looked pretty good as well. Thank you.

just opened in Brooklyn

By mylene-virginie |

I am a big fan of Fiat in Soho, so I tried the one in Brooklyn. The ambiance is great, the place is bigger and spacious . The food is as good as the one in the city plus some excellent additions ( cocktails, fried calamari, new pasta...). Prices are still super friendly. Great place to have breakfast, lunch, brunch AND dinner.

An old friend

By PhileasFoggontour |

It’s five years since my last review but I’ll argue that Cafe Fiat is the best choice in Nolita. We had breakfast here and dinner. It gets busy in the evening so book in advance. It’s cash only but the prices mean you don’t need a big wad of money. Charming staff. As Nolita moves in the direction of cashless restaurants and those who don’t even post menus outside Cafe Fiat is a breath of fresh air.

Small but perfect

By jwdundas |

Good food, fair price. Few tables and ATM downstairs. Nice and Italian atmosphere. Good wine and tiramisu. We loved Carla 😀

Very nice cafe

By Carlarsen |

We went there for lunch and had a very nice lasagna accompanied with pinot grigio. Service was focused and friendly. We didn’t even have to figure out how much we had to tip, because they already billed usd 10.- for a lunch of usd 60.-........ :-|

Most amazing breakfast in NYC😍

By Emmanejrup |

Me and my family went here for breakfast three times and we were not disapointed!! Most amazing pancackes and great waiters :-) MUST TRY

Great food at great prices

By Giuseppina d |

Very pleasant place with excellent cuisine at affordable prices. You can eat Italian pasta, opt for brunch and much more. We also tried an excellent mozzarella and tomato ciabatta, much appreciated by the palate and stomach fatigued by New York flavors. Whatever you choose quality is assured thanks to the professionalism of the Italian French owner who knows ingredients, true Italian cuisine and more.

Amazing food, big portion

By Eran M |

Amazing food very good and big portion, prices are not too pricey and the staff is very nice. I would definitely come back again

Most Amazing Coffee

By Emily B |

Writing this review solely to rave above a cup of coffee that changed my life. Stop in for breakfast, you won't be disappointed.

Authentic Italian Little Italy

If you are wanting to taste genuine Italian food with a cosy atmosphere and top service add this restaurant to your itinerary. We were fully satisfied with our meals and the recommended Italian house red. Popular place to eat. Make sure you bring cash because the restaurant doesn't take credit cards.

Good decent affordable food

By Nelson C |

I was surprised by the quality of the food and service. I had a white eggs Omelette for breakfast and they were okay with replacing cheese for spinach. The waiter was quite attentive and efficient. The only reason I do not give 5 stars it is because it is cash only.

Great Little cafe for lunch

By frenchyBrisbane |

We have had lunch there twice in the last 4 days, we originally went there on the recommendation of our hotel as we asked for a good coffee place. Didn't really like the coffee but the food was great, simple but full of flavour. It's a mix of Italian and French flavours with breakfast served all day. Small dining room with 3 or 4 rambles outside

Great portion sizes, excellent value!

By Raventwisp |

I ordered the (sourdough) french toast - only $7.50 - with delicious maple syrup and fresh fruit. My partner ordered the Gravlax eggs benedict. Hit the spot! Unfortunate that it's cash only, but great for beating the brunch lines elsewhere and getting a good value for breakfast!

Terrible!!

By Shanij60 |

Only cash? With an expensive cash machine near the toillets?? Why you don't tell customers that you do not accept credit card?? Absolutely unacceptable. Never co.e back again!!

Simple, small, cosy interior and good food

By Yannick B |

I was surprised by the bruschetta's i had: eggplant, olives, ... really really tasty. Afterwards i had linguini with clambs: not the original receipt, but very tasty. Out of the way of other touristic restaurants. Would go back.

Excellent food and service - and great for Fiat 500 fans!

By TheAberdonian |

Our hotel recommended the Fiat Cafe as a less expensive option for breakfast than some of the other eateries in the neighbourhood. A great place to eat at any time of the day: enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here. Loved the combination of Italian / French / American cultures that make the Fiat Cafe a truly unique experience.

Best meal in New York

By stevelyonUk |

We stumbled across this wonderful place in Little Italy after a long walk over Brooklyn Bridge. We were hungry and so chose pasta to fill up on. The most delicious pasta dishes and other patrons were in raptures. Worth looking up at lunchtime.

Good but not great

By FamilleKillick |

Nice unpretentious café between Nolita and Soho. Service is pleasant but a bit slow. The granola was good but the selection of fruits was limited and they were rather tasteless (melon and strawberry). Pancakes were excellent. As for the tea, it would be good to have a proper mug or teapot rather than a very small cup of hot water and a teabag next to it. Maybe noone drinks tea anymore!!!

Hidden gem in Nolita! We fell

By trishyb258 |

Hidden gem in Nolita! We fell on this place by complete accident and I love finding these gems! Small quaint place served an excellent breakfast-avocados were just ripe eggs poached to perfection and the coffee was delish. And what a reasonable price for breakfast in heart of Soho where anything simple is over $50. Definitely coming back and would recommend. Owners couldn’t be more gracious or hospitable and warm. Lovely time we had!!!

It's a must for Brunch or Breaktast in Little Italy

By MaRi |

Absolutely great location and a boutique spot café for Breakfast and Brunch. With Ruby's best place to start into a wonderful day in New York City. Super Friendly Staff and high quality food. Simply: "La storia della piccola macchina che Aiuto"

Love and kindness in the heart of NY

By DonAllanhansen |

Fantastic place in the heart of New York. The staff is the essence of service and kindness. A place to comeback to every time in NY. Unfortunately to small to embrace everybody in NY, but give it a go and you won’t be sorry.

Great little place

By Dani_SHinuk |

Its safe to say that this is our favorite place to eat in downtown New York. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food excellent and very reasonably priced. Good friendly service. On this visit to New York, we came here several times, both for lunch and dinner, and we will most certainly come back given the opportunity!

Italian Food Meets French Hospitality

By Melissa F |

Dined here with a larger group - 8 on Thursday night. A place will automatically win points in my book if they accommodate a large group with no reservations, late night. We walked in around 10pm and were greeted with nothing but warmth. I think it helped that most of the people in our party spoke French! I loved the decor - everything was Fiat-related and there were vintage signs on the walls. Be sure to check out the steps leading down to the restroom - they're spray-painted with pasta names! The food was very good - I had Cacio e Pepe (one of my favorite pasta dishes) and it did not disappoint. Others at the table had varied dishes - from pasta to fish to salad. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. It was a really lovely experience and they let us sit for awhile without disturbing us. It made for a very memorable meal with friends and I would definitely return here.

AMAZING AND AUTHENTIC

By Laken F |

I had the Gnocchi with bacon green peas and Parmesan cheese sauce. It was incredibly well made and perfectly portioned! The locations was great and the setting was quite which is a nice change from other NYC eateries. 11/10 would recommend!

Good and enough!

Good Italian restaurant. Fabulous quantities and good taste, even though not 100% Italian taste...but acceptable!

Cozy Cafe' On Rue De Mott

By MRSB1Charlotte_NC |

We were only in New York for 3 days, and wanted every meal to be as good as possible. We were staying near Little Italy and looking for a place for breakfast. We were fortunate enough to stumble upon the Fiat Cafe, and it was incredible. The restaurant itself is very small and cozy, with a Fiat-centric decor. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner with French and Italian options. If you close your eyes, you can imagine you are in a small cafe' in Paris, instead of on Mott St. in New York. They serve strong black coffee with steamed milk, and the absolute best cafe' mocha I have ever had. The benedicts were wonderful, and everything on the menu sounded delicious. Lunch specials also sounded great and the prices were very affordable. Our server was a lovely, sweet, friendly, and French. Some of the customers we dined with are regulars who come here every morning. I love that!

Family Visit

By Carlos E Gomez |

Good place, with homemade flavor. The place is small but it is worth it. If the weather permits, sit outside. Nothing pretentious and good price.

Again and again - Highly recommended

By Michael F |

Very, very tasty and everything fresh. Super friendly manager and waitress. Prices are OK for New York. I can only recommend it. We were there for 10 days and had breakfast there every day except once. The coffee is particularly great 👍 I'd definitely go back next time.

Small cosy cafe with good breakfast

By Laura K |

This tiny cafe offered a good selection of breakfast. I could have picked almost everything on the menu, and I'm normally quite picky. We had some pancakes with fruit (could have had more fruit in the portion), eggs Benedict and Bagel. It was all delicious. Also the coffee (Cappucino) was delicious. All reviews say that the service was extra friendly. We didn't really feel so welcome. The waitress hardly said hello to us when we came and almost through the menu on the table. And the cafe was almost empty when we came there on a Sunday morning around 9.30am. Also, they don't take credit card, so that's always a bit difficult for a tourist who doesn't carry dollars and don't want to get more from a cash point on their last day... Overall we were still happy with the place, as the food and coffee were really tasty.

The original eggplant parmigiana

By ICarryOn |

This is the only other place in New York City, and the only one that is still in business today, where eggplant parmigiana dish is what it supposed to be—a celebration of fresh tomato sauce and parmigiana making love to eggplant—without any unnecessary extras. Love the authentic atmosphere. Will come back again.

Fantastic food

By Michele L |

We stopped here for lunch on Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm. This is tiny restaurant with about 15 tables. Very tight fit! We were lucky to get a table right away. We ordered a Moretti and an Aperol Spritz. Water was on the table as soon as we sat down, and our drinks arrived quickly. The noise level was loud, but not too bad. My husband ordered lasagna and I ordered linguine and baby clams. Both were delicious and large portions. Since we are visiting, we couldn’t really take leftovers but we really tried to finish but failed. The lasagna was meaty and cheesy with a nice substantial sauce. Sauce was very flavorful. The linguine was cooked perfectly, with lots of thinly sliced garlic and pancetta and a lots of baby clams in the shell. The thin sauce was also very flavorful. Service was fast and friendly. This was a great lunch in Little Italy.

Good place for Italian pasta and brunch.

By skier101 |

Went here for brunch and lunch. The pasta and chicken parmigiana are very authentic.. Pasta is perfectly cooked to al dente. The French toast and bagel looks very appetizing as well.

Cosy Cafe

By 33traveler2010 |

We enjoyed Sunday lunch at this tiny yet cosy cafe. The homemade food was good and reminiscent of a traditional Mom & Pops operation.

Fiat café Mott street get away do not go there!!!!

By Anne gilbert |

Tourist trap place to avoid, there is a family brunch for 4 = 2 basic egg Florentine plates and a tuna salad and a flat egg, ham and cheese sandwich = it took 30 minutes to receive these simple dishes, mostly cold, accompanied of 4 bland and lukewarm coffees for a surreal total of 97.65 USD and which also included an insulting 20% "service charge" necessarily suggested and added to the total. Dirty and ordinary premises, in short, another “fake wanna be” restaurant in NY - to be avoided completely, help!!!

A nice, chancy, discovery

By Mcducas2015 |

We Walked by as we were looking for a restaurant in little Italy. It looked Nice, was not expensive, and they Had a table, so we stopped there. We found it a very enjoyable place, with Great food. Very animated. Not the place to go for an intimate, romantic dinner, but great atmosphere altogether. The owner is French-Italian, and you will get an especially warm welcome if you speak French. And you will get an even better treatment if you are a fan of the Fiat cars, like he is!

Italian I am not sure....but very good place

By fabio-ff |

I visited Cafe Fiat throughout my stay in NY either for breakfast or lunch. Super cute place and very nice staff, super-flexible to accommodate variations to dishes and to provide quick service, if needed. I am not sure how much there remains in it of Italy beyond the name, but all we took was very good, especially carbonara and meat balls with a delicious tomato sauce. Breakfast was also very good. There are so many places in the area that seem to provide a similar service but I kept going to Fiat Cafe as it seemed to have a sort of that 'small business' touch that makes, in my view, the difference.

Quaint

By Abi S |

this was one of the few places we saw yesterday morning that was very busy. We originally popped in just cause my husband needed the restroom but were glad we did. It's very small but cosy. Lots of cool Fiat pictures, memorabilia and models. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were reasonable.

Lovely breakfast

By Monica K |

Nice and cozy place decorated with pictures of the iconic fiat 500. We had pancakes, granola bowl, americano coffee and orange juice. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was lovely and the service very good yet down to earth, which was exactly what we needed at eight in the morning.

Off Beaten track

By tcp1002017 |

Great cafe in the less busy side of Mott St. Good value and service Great area for browsing. Meatball and molinara sauce ciabatta, yum.

Tasty, but pricey

By Anna |

We had a lunch there, ravioli and chicken in thyme sauce. The food was delicious, I can't say anything other, but...the portions of the dishes were too small regarding their prices. I've eaten in italian restaurants before, mostly in Italy, and that's not the case there. Definitly wouldn't come back, just because of that. Not worth that much money.

Good food, friendly service

By Jack R |

My party of four, including a 3 year old, went to this little place next to Lombardis Pizza when we discovered a long, Friday night line for Lombardis. Hostess could not have been more accommodating, seating us immediately. Prices were very reasonable for New York, and while not Michelin star worthy, our veal parmesan and lasagna were quite satisfying. I recommend the Fiat Cafe to anyone seeking a decent meal at a decent price in a non-tourist environment.

Really good

By Kefrin |

Good food and service. Great music!! Poached eggs with salmon excellent. Also tried it for dinner with very good results; dinner time is much more packed and buzzy like most restaurants in this part of NYC.

AMAZING

By Christina A |

The chicken panini is was BEST panini I have ever had!! Super tasty with unbelievable bread. Will definitely be back! Staff is friendly too.

YUM

By acdunn123 |

This is a must go to place in Soho/Little Italy area!!!! I’m telling you this place is amazing. The service was so great and really was cheaper than most places! The Gnocchi with bacon and peas was AMAZING. The coffee is very good too!!!

Charming little cafe in NoLita

By Jonas F |

Really charming cafe with good and healthy food. Went there for breakfast and had the poached eggs with salmon on an English muffin and a cappuccino. To sum up: food is good, service is friendly and attentive and value for money is good.

Great Bargain Lunch in Hip Houston Area of NYC

By Pfitzgerald1946 |

IF you don't want Bleecker St Pizza or $30/plate pork ribs or fish, try Fiat Cafe. It is a charming cozy little place smack in the hart of the Soho fashion district. My wife and I were there to get bargains on clothing outlet sales. We walked in, had a delicious salad and dessert and the best coffee imaginable. The menu for dinner looked incredible but we didn't get a chance to get there at night before we left town. Fiat's is on our list for our next visit to NYC.

Nolita Gem of Italian Cafe

By Norman S |

Small, great Italian cafe in Nolita. Literally, a hole in the wall— but some of the best casual atmosphere, welcoming service and reasonably priced Italian food in this happening NYC neighborhood. Cash only. I

Great breakfast

By ThereHeGoes |

I dropped into this small and unassuming cafe for breakfast and had a very tasty mashed avocado on toast with eggs on top, and good coffee. A lovely relaxed ambience and the service was very friendly. Highly recommended.

Cafe Fiat in Nolita is an easy going classic Italian cooking

By EastCoastReviewer7 |

I love Mott street in Nolita. It has European aura. The Fiat Cafe is one of the places to stop for a classic Italian homy food. I had last time, as usual, great carpaccio di manzo with arugula and truffle oil; and an excellent pasta with shitake, oysters, crimini mushrooms, duck confit finished with truffle oil. No room for deserts. Wine selection is realy nice too. What a wonderful place to enjoy cooler evening after a very hot day.

A cosy little place

By Tami Caspi Eshel |

Fiat cafe is very tiny and cosy and located in Soho, so during shopping you can take a rest and have a lunch in Fiat cafe. We were 3, we got a table inside and ordered 4 dishes and wine. Everything was fresh and tasty and not too expensive. For the desert we shared a fresh fruit salad, and it was just the dish that we needed to the end of our meal.

So yummy!

By Tita T |

Food here is phenomenal! Panini's are like nowhere else! Don't search no more for a place to eat just go to Fiat cafe seriously! They have brunch menu, lunch menu. Food here is simple but seriously delicious for reasonable prices. To be honest I was kind of hesitant when I saw that no one working in the place is Italian lol It's not the Italian food you get from your Nonna it's a bit revisited but really good. I would go back no doubt.

Best eggs Benedict in town

By hakan Anders |

Back at last....3 years ago that I had the best eggs Benedict ever at Fiat cafe. Not the usual tourist trap joint but a true genuine gem. Don't forget to bring $ because it's a "cash only" place.

Good food and warm service.

By Kristel M |

This small cozy café is certainly excellent for breakast and lunch. Very warm and friendly service. May daughter didnot like the pancakes and they offered to prepare her something else without charging the pancakes. Good food at good prices. You have to pay cash, but ATM downstairs.

Cozy little cafe

By heyjenz |

Always a great time when I come here. The cafe is relatively small, but I guess that's how Italian cafes usually are. It's affordable and a good meal. There's magazines along the sides that can keep you entertained if you are enjoying a meal by yourself. Prices here are on the low end but the food is always spectacular. Doesn't hurt that wine is around the $20 -$30 range for a bottle. We had a bottle of white wine, two entrees and an appetizer for a total of $60. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting Italian place with great food

By Daniela_sun14 |

We visited the place on Tuesday and it was full, little bit small but really interesting. Waitress was so professional and nice and I liked it. We ordered wine and food, it was so delicious. Everyone was so happy. If we had more time we should probably also do the desserts.

Great spot for breakfast

By carwillo |

We stumbled on this cafe after walking around for a while looking for breakfast. Dubious at first as it was almost empty (not for long) we got a table and were glad we did! Most of us had the toast with avocado and eggs and it was really, really good... Coffee was great too.. And very reasonably priced too..

Atmosphere and nice little dishes

Delicioso

By Bianca M |

Very flavor food. I recommend the Eggplant Parmatian. Service very nice professional. Cozy Italian Restaurant not too 'touristshi'. Great Price. The only inconvenient payment is cash only.

Favourite breakfast

By Michael D |

Love this cafe for breakfast. Food is always great & service very friendly. Coffee is excellent. We keep coming back here every time we are in NY.

Fiat is Family

By estrella-bella |

Okay, one feels like family when dining here. The service is friendly and you get plenty to eat. It's small cafe where you sit within reach of your neighbors. It reminds me of many a quaint Italian cafes, where wine and good food flow. There isn't sticker shock at the end which is a pleasant surprise considering the neighborhood you are actually in.

It was really good !

By Soizic P |

Good Restaurant, in the Little Italy district. nice welcome and very tasty pasta. Good desserts too, portions suitable for children. We speak french !

Nothing to highlight. Average food and high prices!

By Gustavo X |

Nothing really worth a compliment. Average pastes, average sauces down. Tiny tables almost glued to each other. The attention was the only thing remarkable. Two courses of pasta, no dessert, no coffee and no drinks cost $50 including tip. I don't plan to go back there in this life at least!

Quick stop off

By decepticong1 |

Popped in this little cafe while watching bet that way and wow very quirky and lovely atmosphere, most friendly staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and the coffee was to die for , highly recommended

Small cafe / lunch

By awalbro |

Was looking for a light lunch off Mulberry Street and away from crowds. If you’re interested - offered an expansive lunch menu also through late afternoon. Surprisingly good wine also.

Incredible little spot

By JeffAman |

Had a quick lunch there on Saturday. The food was great and the service was quick and attentive. We walked away very impressed. The spaghetti and meatballs were as good as I've ever had.

Not too good

By zomzie |

We didn't realize they had to have cash payments, there was an atm across the street but we heard the help say they get no pay, just tips. The food was marginal at best. The chicken was boiled and very bland. My wife liked her lasagna, but the service was terrible. I couldn't recommend anything about this place.

Very nice place

By almes22 |

Great coffee and the Eggs Benedict is a great choice for breakfast The atmosphere is nice and and the waiters are very nice.
