This place is one of the best Thai food places in NYC. Its trendy and the decor is fun! The good is fantastic, but I wish they had more vegetarian options (because everything they make is delicious)! @traveleen_gur

We came into town to help my daughter and boyfriend move and had to come here because my daughter raves about this place. She referred to it as her favorite restaurant in the city that she has tried so far. That left me with high expectations and Fish Cheeks delivered. We ordered several dishes to share so we could try a variety of dishes. I was not disappointed with any of the dishes we ate. My favorite dishes among them was the crab curry, calamari and wings. You also can not leave without ordering the mango coconut rice for dessert. This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. I will definitely return when coming to visit my daughter.

Very solid and delicious Thai place - and I enjoyed that it had more of a seafood focus. Worth coming especially during happy hour to take advantage of their $1 oysters. Delicious cocktail selection and you get a really hefty portion of pork cheeks for an appetizer. Delicious Tom Yum fish soup - pieces were cubed and completely deboned. This place is great to go as a group since the dishes are meant to be shared, though I wish there were more options for those who show up solo.

Possibly my favorite restaurant we ate at during my last NYC trip, and seeing there were some top 50 and Michelin starred restaurants in there it says a lot. We did one of the menus for two, and everything was excellent. The corn salad that seemed like filler, was one of our favorite things. So much flavor, so much spice. The service was lacking, but the food was so good it didn't matter.

I just ordered two items; the chicken wings and the crab fried rice. Might be the most delicious things I've tasted!

Food good - pork belly very nice as was the prawn with 'pork belly essence'. Resy had limited reservations but they take walk ins and we were seated straight away. Brunch very good value for NYC.

Having read that much of Fish Cheeks' menu is designed for family-style dining, I was slightly hesitant to stop in as a solo diner. But luckily I overcame my hesitation and was rewarded with one of the best Thai lunches I've ever had. Yum goong was fabulous -- it's one of 7 "KIin len, or Plates to snack on " -- and oysters on the half shell were also very good. Coconut ice cream for dessert was served with mango and shavings of fresh coconut and outshone most other coconut ice creams I've enjoyed. Service was friendly and efficient. Can't wait to return!

We ate outdoors with 2 couples- this allowed us to share 3 wonderful appetizers - our favorites were the pork cheeks and wings. We also shared 3 delicious main dishes- the coconut curry was amazing. Be aware that if the menu has 3 peppers that will be a truly hot spicy dish.

Having just spent a week in Bangkok immersed in the food scene here, I was delighted to join friends here who heard how great Fish Cheeks was. It delivered. We loved (!) every single dish . . . ones that you will not find on the menus of every other Thai restaurant around. Morning glory, big hunks of crab in a spicy coconut sauce, fried fish topped with chopped delights in a bright sauce. If you are a Thai fan and want something genuinely special, this is the pace to go.

Rarely do I find a place outside of Thailand doing authentic Thai food. Fish Cheeks literally blew me away. If you haven't checked them out i couldn't recommend them more.

I don't know about others but most of the time I would think of Thai food it would be a quick lunch or a casual dinner. This is neither a quick lunch nor a casual dinner. Food is top notch. The Manhattan gives its corrections to the pricing obviously but this place still is worth every penny. Prawn Karee that my daughter loved. The Panang Negroni and Spicy Mango cocktails. Pork Belly Pad Kaprow, oysters, Rainbow Trout all delicious, all wonderfully presented but make sure you have the reservation because the place gets really really really busy.

Visited from London and keen to try this very popular Thai place relatively near our hotel. Booked in advance, and glad we did. Had a great tequila based spicy cocktail. Shared dishes of zarb wings, one of the specials, crab curry and cabbage side dish. All super good. Decent portion sizes and GREAT service. Would highly recommend.

We visited during Restaurant Week (which is really Restaurant Month...but that's another story) and ordered from their special menu. But first, we started with some happy hour $1 oysters, which were about what you should expect from happy hour $1 oysters. Satisfactory. Spicy mango cocktail was fantastic. We had the 3 shrimp sauce appetizer--which came with sliced little red peppers and it packed a punch. But in a tasty and good way. Pork cheeks were okay. Tasty, but overpowered by the rest of our food. The Branzini entree was good, but not memorable. The Coconut Crab meat Curry? More please. Except, if we'd have had any more we probably wouldn't be feeling our tongues until the weekend. It was one of the most flavorful, interesting dishes I've had in some time. Worth going back for. Interesting low-key atmosphere, but very friendly and competent service. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal here with my family on Christmas Day. The food was absolutely spectacular, really the best Thai we have had in a long time, possibly ever. The crab coconut curry was delightful, the massaman curry fabulous too. Highly recommended!

Has to be one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Started with the calamari, which was great - the sauce it was tossed in was so tasty. I had the snapper filet and again the marinade and fresh chopped basil on top was divine!!! Hubby had the crab curry which required we got extra rice so we could sop up all of the gravy. Would return for sure on our next trip!!!!!

My partner and I arrived at the end of happy hour, in time to order a dozen of the happy hour priced oysters. We both really enjoyed topping the oysters with the herby mignonette and crispy onions - something I would like to recreate at home. We ordered one off the pre fixe options which may have been our downfall. The food started coming out really quickly. Not yet done with the oysters and the runner was trying to put the two app plates on the table. Once we barely settled into the apps, the mains were brought out and the table got uncomfortably overfilled. We still enjoyed our food, but we certainly would have preferred a less ruched pace.

Given the very positive review on The Infatuation I navigated my way to Fish Cheeks yesterday. 5pm on the dot. I didn’t want to stay 2 hours in line…. The place is nice they placed tables and chairs outside with some distance. The menu was pretty limited and seemed strong on the drinks. I got their Som Tum Corn that is corn based with no papaya It was nicely flavored but could be more generous. For the main I got the Vegetarian Green Curry, the only green curry option on the dish. It also was Ok flavored but could be more generous. They do not ask for how spicy or not you want your food and it’s pretty mild 🌶 All in all. I had a better Thai food in the city for much less.

Well crafted tasty dishes, lots of drink choices, occasionally specials beautiful fun space Open during the day busy in the evening

It may have been a fairly warm evening, but in the outdoor tables in the middle of Bond Street, sipping creative, delicious drinks, I felt as cool as a cucumber. Fresh, delicious food. I had oysters and a whole fish. Perfect service. All in all a delightful experience.

Fish Cheeks is a seafood-focused Thai restaurant on 55 Bond Street in Manhattan’s NoHo neighborhood. The menu isn’t particularly adventurous or long but it's quite varied, thoughtful and there is sufficient variety to satisfy everyone, including vegetarian and non-spicy dishes. We couldn’t get a reservation but decided to take a chance and go anyway. It worked out perfectly with bar seats since is was right after happy hour was over. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. We got a few things from the menu since everything looked so good!! Appetizer – -Market Oysters -Grilled Pork Cheeks Main – -Coconut Crab Curry - is spicy and amazing with big flaky chunks of crabmeat -Pakboong (side) - was also very delicious -Crab Fried Rice – yummy!! -Khua Kling – went very well with crab fried rice Thumbs up!! We will definitely be back

Cozy interior environment, nice service!! The food are really tasty. Happy hour oysters just sell $1 each with awesome sauce provided. I didn’t have enough stomach room to try all. But I can see the most of customers were satisfied with their foods. At last but not least, must try their cocktails

This Thai restaurant is a great addition to the city’s foodie scene. Even gif you goo regularly to Thailand, you will be blown away by many not the offerings here. Take the calamari: it’s a world away from the fried calamari in most restaurants. This one comes in fat rings each embedded in a golf-ball of deep brown, crisp, sticky, succulent glaze flavored with cilantro, chillie, tamarin and fish sauce that defies eating whole. The Zabb delicious in Thai) Wings are crisp and dusted with a flavoring and are good enough to order twice. The surprise item in the menu is pork cheeks - thinly sliced with a narrow border of fat and tender and juicy meat. The centrepiece would be the fried snapper smothered with crisp garlic slices, friend shallots and cashew nuts. The Po Tak is a hot and sour soup filled with shrimps, fish, squid and scallops, all cooked to perfection. And if there’s room for more, the crab friend rice is unforgettable, served with a mint sauce that improves the already tasty dish.

I arrived solo asking for a seat at the bar and the hostess needed my phone number. Why? I found that intrusive. I was shown a seat in the back near the kitchen where the staff sit. The manager's bag was on the bar at my table setting most of the meal. Eventually, a bartender took notice and gave me a menu, some water and took my order. The food arrived and while the texture was great, it was too salty and too tart. I will go to one of the more gracious eateries in the neighborhood next time.

First time here, last night. We had an early res (res reco'd.) Cute clean joint, interesting menu, heavy on the seas and meant for sharing. We had 3 apps - great east coast oysters (buck a piece), smoked spicy salmon, poached shrimp, coconut crab curry. They were out of the manila clams so we had the snapper instead. Fresh and good. Light desserts including coconut ice cream. Small bar at the back; I had a good cheeky mule.

I visited Fish Cheeks for dinner and sat at the counter. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening. The Thai influence is subtle — if I hadn’t known in advance, I might not have guessed it was a Thai restaurant. I started with a couple of oysters, which were fresh and served with an accompaniment I really enjoyed. For my main, I had the crab aob woonsen, which was well-prepared and flavourful. I finished with ice cream, again paired with a Thai-inspired accompaniment that added an interesting twist. Service was efficient and generally friendly. Overall, I enjoyed the Thai-inspired dishes. Having visited Thailand several times, I wouldn’t say the flavours instantly transported me back there — but I suspect the aim here is to offer a modern interpretation rather than a traditional one.

Sampled several dishes on the menu. Most of not all were well executed and tasted exactly like Thai food in Bangkok.

Probably the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Both for starter and main course we had fish. These two courses were really perfectly prepared. We will definitely come back.

Different type of takers in really focused around seafood. The crab coconut curry is out of this world however don’t expect normal dishes such as noodles. The ceviche is also quite good. Seating is not too comfortable but the food is worth it. Also they reserve about half the restaurant for walkins.

We enjoyed the shrimp in 3 crab sauce, the somtum corn salad, and the butterfly pea flower limeade. We stayed for 2.5 hours and had a wonderful time.

Came here with our daughter and her bf. There is an outside area and an indoor restaurant (much nicer). The food was excellent, especially the crab curry. Cocktails were inventive and fun. It's not easy to make reservations and we ended up eating at 5:30 but that meant we were in time for Happy Hour, netting us some nice savings on drinks. And our lovely waiter made sure we ordered another round before Happy Hour ended. The vibe is very lively, young, and fun. Highly recommended.

Had an incredible lunch at Fish Cheeks — everything was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor, perfect for a warm summer day in NYC. The standout for us was definitely the oyster happy hour — amazing flavor combinations and great deals on both oysters and drinks (wine and beer included!). We also loved the squid ink calamari (super tender and had a slightly sweet flavor) and the crab fried rice, which was packed with flavor without being heavy. But honestly? We’d come back just for the oysters and a glass of wine. The vibe is lively but laid-back, and the service was great. A go-to spot for a fun and delicious lunch or casual happy hour. Highly recommend!

Awesome food and service! Vinny, our server, was attentive, very friendly and let us know about the dishes on the menu. This place has the best calamari. The flavors are awesome. Sweet, slightly spicy and cook perfectly. Crab fried rice is a must. Full of crab flavor. And you must try the side sauce with it (nice, citrusy). Prawn Karee was delicious. Get rice on the side to lap up that sauce. You get 3 prawns with the dish. Steam fish was our favorite. They de-bone most of the fish, put it back together and cook it to perfection. Great citrus flavor. You actually can’t tell it’s fish. Super yummy Came here during happy hour and got multiple glasses of wine. 👍 Fantastic service by the whole team here. Our water glasses were always full. They cleared our glasses and dishes as we finished. And they constantly checked up on us.

Lovely, small space with a small bar in the back. We had an eight thirty reso and got there on time, Deciding we preferred a banquette, we waited 15 minutes at the bar, before we were seated. Our waitress was most helpful, guiding us not to over order too many plates to share. Food was spicy and delicious! Good wine list Atmosphere of fun and warmth. Can't wait to go back

We ordered oysters for appetizers. Main course Steamed Fish, Crab Fried Rice, Porkbelly w\noodles and fried Chicken Wings. For cocktail Spicy Mango. I just have 3 words for it all OUT STAND ING! OUTSTANDING. ILL BE BACK! A Analí and Proud are both beautiful and very attentive

We came here as a group of 7, and ordered lots of items. The chicken wing appetizers were great, spicy. The curry was favored by most of us, as well as the fish (both types) and soup. We were less excited about the prawns, and the crab fried rice was kind of bland. Cabbage side was good, nothing out of the ordinary but good. Our table was so full we had to keep eating and passing to get platters off the table to give room. Enjoyable family night out.

Arrived here hopeful after seeing a number of positive recommendations. What's not to love about Thai food + fish and seafood? But despite arriving at 17.15- early!- it took ages for us to be shown to our table... and then staff were way too busy chatting to take our order. (There were only 4 customers in the whole place and we were two of them!) Eventually by frantic waving we had our order taken. The menu is small: 5 starters; 9 mains. So they should be outstanding... focus we hoped. But the calamari were just fried calamari with some ciltrano and a lot of extra grease. And crab coconut curry was super sweet. Seafood pad cha was passable but not really crammed with seafood for a pricy $22. Dessert was ... well there only was one...was Thai Tea Flavoured Panna Cotta. OK that's fusion or miscegenation depending on your POV. BUT one non-choice? Service was pretty uninspired and the food presentation was poor unlike most other Thai restaurants we've eaten in. Final straw was constant and fairly loud pop music. And it sounded more like K-pop than recognisably Thai. Sorry... nothing good to say!

Experience exquisite cuisine in an elegant restaurant ambiance. Due to its immense popularity, we recommend making reservations in advance. Be prepared for a vibrant atmosphere during peak hours. The menu offers delectable dishes and the prices are remarkably affordable, covering both the food and beverages. Whether you're planning a lunch or dinner outing or simply craving Thai delicacies, this place is a fantastic choice.

Terrific Thai offerings in NoHo from chefs Ohm and Chat Suansilphong. The menu isn't particularly long but it's quite varied and thoughtful. Loved the Coconut Crab Curry, Hat Yai Fried Chicken, Grilled Porgy (lemongrass pork), Shrimp in three Crabs Sauce (raw shrimp w/ lime, garlic, and chili), and the crab fried rice. The beachy vibe is festive (though it can get pretty loud). All in all the food is outstanding, albeit a bit pricey.

Went for lunch during Restaurant Week, but decided to Oder off menu based on recommendation of server. Good call; we had 2 appetizers to share, corn salad and prawns… both tasty. We had 3 entrees (4 of us dining). The crab curry was great (spicy), the fish was served whole and steaming, (not spicy), we also had prawns (huge ones)…ordered some extra jasmine rice to soak up sauces….3 different Thai beers…yummy lunch.

Delicious authentic Thai food in New York. Try the fried rice with crab meat, the seabass baked.Morning glory vegetable fried with chili.

Order any of the Chef’s Selections menus and share so you can try as many dishes as possible. Everything is fantastic! Chicken wings, pork cheeks, calamari, coconut curry, whole fish......really good.

Fish cheeks is awesome although impossible to get a reservation. We decided to walk in and wait and it was well worth the effort. We started with some awesome fried chicken that had an amazing sauce on it. Then we ordered some pork cheeks which were simply amazing and i would come here and wait in line just for them. We also had tiger prawn karee which were delicious. Crab fried rice which was also amazing and steamed fish. It was all delicious but i would be neglectful if i did not include a comment about the service which was excellent. This was a crowded lively restaurant but was neither too loud nor too rushed. It was absolutely perfect Thai food and we will certainly be back to try more of their food!!! I think fish cheeks far surpasses uncle boons and somtum der. This is my go to Thai place!!

So on Christmas Day......my daughter and I turned to Eater NY reviews to find what was special and actually open on this particular day....and hence came Fish Cheeks! Shockingly it was packed!!!! We sat at the counter and ordered soup, Crab Fried Rice and Oysters on the Half Shell The Crab Fried Rice was TO DIE FOR! I'd go back just for that! The seafood soup was good but very spicy which I'm not into. Oysters very fresh and clean. Also had the Mango Ice Cream which was ok. But all in all this place was a great find!

Great service. Great good. Will come back again. The vibe and feel was amazing. Can’t wait to come back. This spot is a must of you want authentic Thai

Although we initially planned for a quick and light lunch, the incredible taste of the dishes tempted us to indulge in more than two. The quality of the Thai food served here is truly outstanding, and the charming ambiance adds to the overall experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a remarkable culinary journey.

Finally decided to check out this place after spending time looking and comparing a few Thai restaurants in New York. I must say I was very satisfied with the outcomes from this cute little place. The setting is rather simple, the large window at the entrance allowing the sun shining through it giving the space a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were a group of 6 pax , from fresh oyster with fresh lime sauce and dried shallots, to the spicy fried chicken wings to this amazing steamed fish with splashes of Thai herbs , they were all so awesome we finished everything within minutes. I will definitely be back here again to try out their other dishes and also desserts.

We came here in a chilly Tuesday night and was promptly seated before my reservation. My girlfriend wasn't there yet but they didn't make me wait for my full party. Off to a great start. We started with shrimp crackers and green sauce. The shrimp crackers were nothing special but the shrimp paste that came with it was delicious. We ordered the happy hour oysters which came with ridiculously good green sauce. So garlicky and amazing. We also ordered the zabb wings, coconut crab curry, hungley curry, and pakboong fair daeng. The crab curry is spicy and amazing. The pakboong was also very delicious. We will definitely be back. Well worth the price and none of the wait.

Amazing Thai cuisine. Cozy space, efficient service. We loved most dishes, while avoiding the too spicy ones ! Manila Clams. Tom Yum. Crab Aob woonsen. Tiger Prawn karee. Yum Hed Yaang. Plenty of food for our group. Definitely worth the visit!

Timothy was a phenomenal server! Attentive, courteous and helpful with suggestions. The food was nothing less than spectacular. Pork cheeks, calamari and oysters amazing appetizers! Main course of crab fried rice, branzino fish and isan style grilled chicken. Absolutely can not say enough positive things about this restaurant. Amazing! Put your taste buds to the test, you will not be disappointed!

Went here for dinner. Ordered the deep fried chicken wings, shrimp ceviche, duck curry, mussels, grilled mackerel and the fish in lemon sauce. All were excellent. This is not a traditional Thai restaurant. Many of their plates have a modern twist to it. Very refreshing and interesting. We were seated at the patio. Atmosphere was good. I find the indoor layout is a bit tight. I will definitely go back if I visit Manhattan again.

On our permanent list when in the area. Sauteed watercress was a nice change and went perfectly with the spicy coconut crab curry with big flaky chunks of crabmeat. The un-breaded deep fried whole branzino was steamy and flaky inside and crispy perfect on the outside. Fish Cheeks also has a nice selection of wines by the glass, and the gewurtzstraminer paired with the spicy curry nicely. We'll be back. The restaurant is located between Lafayette and Bowery, not Bowery and 2nd as noted on the address info.

We came here for dinner and were grateful they were able to accommodate us because we didn’t have a reservation. Food: They start you off with complimentary shrimp chips. I don’t eat meat so I didn’t try them but my friend told me they were good. They only have 2 vegan dishes on the menu but honestly I didn’t mind because both looked like really yummy options. I got the Tofu Pad Prik Khing. It came with rice and was a good portion size. The tofu and vegetables were well cooked. The sauce that it was good in was really good. Spicy, well seasoned, flavorful, and perfect complemented the veggies and tofu. It was such a good dish I would easily go back for it. Drinks: We got the love punch and it was AMAZING! It was a pandan turmeric milk punch and tasted amazing. I love the way they served the drink too in a silver bowl and the ice had flowers inside it. Ambiance: I really liked the vibe of the restaurant. It was well designed boho chic and you can tell they put a lot of thought into how to present the restaurant, food, and drinks. We sat at the bar and seating was very comfortable and somewhat spacious. Service: The service was very fast. Everyone was very friendly but it did feel a bit like they were rushing us. We sat at the bar and they kept rushing us to order drinks/food and didn’t even ask about dessert. When we asked, it almost felt like they were dissuading us from ordering.

I could easily just say this place is absolutely awesome and I'd be happy to post this review but I'll open up a little. From the very friendly welcome and enthusiasm of my server to the very first mouthful of my starter, Pork Cheeks, my goodness, my mouth smiled back at me, it was so good. I cannot fault my experience at Fish Cheeks, every single aspect of this restaurant knocks it out the park. Please everyone else, learn a thing or two, this was in my top ten food experiences ever, yes ever.......

My friend and I came here to try this Thai place. It was a great idea because the food was not only delicious but fantastic! We had Pria as our waitress. Good job! We had oysters to start. It was not bad, but oysters were too small, although the condiment was delicious. Then I ordered Prawn Karee that was so yummy! My friend ordered Vegan Green Curry, and that was great too. The place looks nice from the outside and better from the inside. It looks upscale and hip at the same time. Whatever the case is, the food is outstanding! I must say that the best karee comes from here. I'll order this again.

I have been to Fish Cheeks well over 5 times, and each time the food is exceptional. The coconut crab curry is my favorite, and the thai iced coffee is to die for. I bring all my out of town visitors here. Warning - it is spicy 🌶

Fish Cheeks is an exceptional Thai restaurant that focuses on crafting delectable Thai seafood dishes. The food they serve is not only piping hot and fresh, but also incredibly delicious. Their attention to presentation is impeccable, making each dish a feast for the eyes. Personally, I highly recommend trying their Short ribs Kua Gling and steamed fish; they are simply outstanding. Additionally, their wings are truly irresistible, with a perfect balance of crispiness and spice. The drinks offered are also fantastic. The friendly service adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience. Since they are consistently busy, I would advise making a reservation before visiting. You don't want to miss out on this highly recommended culinary gem!

Came here with our party of 6 on a Tuesday for a lunch reservation. They had happy hour for drinks, cocktails, beer, wine and oysters. We ordered a few dishes to share and they were all flavorful: pla tod kamin, pakboong, aob woonsen, crab fried rice, tom yum, steamed whole fish. The drinks were also good (strong): tongue & cheek, thank you kha, nam gin and pandan gin fizz. They incorrectly charged us for the drinks full price $17 instead of happy hour $11 but they quickly fixed that. It is a small place but gets busy even on weekdays.

this is a small and very simply decorated place with really good thai food. the oysters are very good yet small but for $1 at lunch and at happy hour they are worth it. the sauces that go with them are great. the pork cheeks were incredibly tasty and tender with a nice sauce. the crab curry was good and spicy. the shrimp stir fry was good but basically 3 big shrimp with red hot peppers and egg. beer and wine list pretty good. service very good. we will be back. lunch for 2 very reasonable.

I love it when I can find a place that offers $1 everyday. Most happy hours are Monday to Friday but here it’s seven days a week! This place isn’t the biggest place but their food is delicious. There’s a bit of a kick in their dishes but it makes the dishes do much better! We ordered the oysters, wings, salad, steamed fish, curry and crab fried rice. We loved all our dishes especially the wings, steamed fish and fried rice. Definitely would do back!

Heard about this place from friend and had a free open lunch while on business, and what a lunch it was. We did the pre-fix lunch for 2 and it was so good! Excellent and attentive service to go along with the amazing food.

This is a delightful Thai restaurant waiting to be discovered. As noted by other travelers, the menu is somewhat limited, but there is sufficient variety to satisfy everyone, including vegetarian and non-spicy dishes. We were here on a busy Saturday evening, but the service was prompt and friendly. Most of the items were very good, and some (crab fried rice, coconut curry crab, and namtok prok) were excellent. The curry and fried rice are must-haves. A couple of other items on the menu can use some tweaking. The fried calamari had a sauce that was too sweet. The goong aob woon senn (glass noodles with shrimp) was also on the sweet side. One vegetarian dish available that evening was sauteed oyster mushrooms and it was outstanding. For those who like authentic Thai food, this is definitely a must try.

A vibrant restaurant located in Bond Street, NoHo, New York City which serves contemporary and authentic Thai food, with captivating flavours. The crab fried rice and steamed fish are a must. Loaded with lots of crab and delicate yet mesmerizing flavours, the crab fried rice is a delight to savour. The whole steamed fish with a tangy flavour and inspiring looks is a delicacy too. The ambience is average and the place is small but the food is great and surely overcompensated for anything else. So when in New York City, this place is an absolute must to indulge in.

Fish Cheeks is one of those places that don't adjust the spiciness of their dishes because they want it to stay "authentic." But authentic for authentic sake and at the detriment to the diner is not worth it. My friend and I ordered dishes with one, two and three stars and they all varied. The two was more spicy than the three and overall I didnt get to enjoy the flavors as much because they were all so spicy. Hopefully they will get that not everyone can handle it but do want to try the other dishes with higher spice levels. The restaurant itself is cute and very Instagram friendly, and definitely not your cheap grab and go Thai food. Being on Bond St, I guess they have to pay for their rent somehow. What I did love? A sign that says no phat thai. 👌🏻

Rockin’ Thai joint in NoHo! Make reservations for this awesome, popular and small eatery on Bond Street! So glad that I did. The restaurant was packed and so many people were waiting outside for a table or counter seat. My friend and I shared the Chef’s Selection Menu for Two option on the back side of the main menu. We opted for the second choice which was amazing. We started with a spicy chicken wing seasoned with lime, chili, mint and a dusting of sugar. The skin was crunchy and light and the meat was moist and tender. Definitely had a nice kick to it. The corn and cherry tomato salad was out of this world! It consisted of shaved corn, small tomatoes, beans, garlic, lime and Thai chilis......a nice but not overwhelming spice kick to the dish. Next we shared a whole fried fish topped with an herb (spicy) salad. The meat was most and easily separated from the bones. The fish was complemented perfectly with the coconut crab curry and the Manila clams with sweet basil. A bowl of white rice accompanied the curry which had large chunks of sweet crab meat swimming in a thick, slightly sweet and (mildly) spicy curry sauce. We opted for the interesting and refreshing coconut ice cream dessert mixed with taro root and I believe other things. Slivers of fresh coconut meat were sprinkled on top. Cocktails were refreshing and interesting. Service was excellent and our server was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place in NoHo!

I first found out about Fish Cheeks when I saw Chrissy Teigen post a Snapchat story on it. Then, I saw that one of my friends went there for dinner and she mentioned that they have $1 oysters during happy hour, so it was a done deal. Four of my friends and I went for dinner with a 6 pm reservation on a Friday night. Happy hour is from 12-4, then 5-7, and this will get you $5 beers, $8 wines, $10 cocktails, and of course, the $1 oysters. Now these aren't your typical sad and skinny NYC oysters. These oyster are plump, and they are served with this green mignonette, which reminded me of a chimichurri sauce. Each of us ate at least a dozen, it was just that good. For food, we decided to order a bunch of plates and share, since there were multiple dishes that we each wanted to try. Here's what we ordered: Coconut crab curry - this was probably the best of the bunch. It had the perfect spice level, and they give a good amount of crab chunks. Short rib massaman curry - not too memorable. Grilled pork cheeks - good, but I felt like i was just eating thinly-sliced pork loin. Seafood pad cha - this was so spicy but it was so good! I couldn't eat a lot of it because my tongue was on fire but if you like spicy foods and seafood, definitely get this dish. Shrimp ceviche - the first shrimp I bit into was definitely a shrimp that had been dead for a while. It was mushy and unpleasant. I tried a second piece, which was much better. String beans - basic Clams - again, basic and not too memorable All in all, I had a great meal. I'll be back for some happy hour oysters and to to try some of their other dishes. Fish Cheeks is probably the most seemingly authentic Thai restaurant that I've been to. They do not serve Pad Thai here. I love Pad Thai but most restaurants tend to butcher it. It's become so commonplace that not many Thai places can make it well. I like that Fish Cheeks doesn't serve typical Americanized Thai food, and sticks to their unique dishes. Can't wait for my next meal here!

Came here after 5 pm on a Wednesday with no reservation, but seated promptly. The service was good and the food was even better. Highly recommend.

The food is spectacular. No complaints. Husband and I got the happy hour oysters served Thai style + drinks to start. We then did the two person set seafood menu. I don’t eat meat so we substituted the wings for the pomelo salad. The corn salad came first. My husband said, “if this is a preview of what’s to come I can’t wait for the rest of the meal”. They did not disappoint. Every dish was unique and mouth watering. The staff were very warm and friendly, too! The woman behind the bar remained cheerful and attentive even when they were slammed. The spot itself is very cute. I loved the wall paper, lanterns, and colorful tables. Note: If you can’t handle your spice I recommend letting the waiters know as the crab curry was just teasing the edge of being too spicy for my husband (was perfect for me). I would also recommend making a reservation as it can get busy. We will definitely be going back. Can’t wait to try the branzino and the herb wraps. 😊😋yum! One of my new favorite places in NYC.

Real Thai food, not "'Mericanized." We went with a friend who ordered, so I don't remember everything we ate, but it was all great! I do remember the pork cheeks, the crab curry and the clams, and some sort of whole fish. The cabbage was a dish i didn't want to share. Topped off with the "Something Different" cocktail (tequila, elder flower liqueure, and lemon juice) and the dessert of coconut ice cream. Please remember 55 Bond St.!

Located right in NoHo my friend from NY recommend this spot. Also on of Chrissy Tiegens fav Thai spots. My friend and I shared some cocktails, grilled pork cheeks, zabb wings, coconut crab curry with a side of greens. This was plenty of food for 2 people. The craft cocktails were delicious. The pork cheeks were cooked and cut perfectly. The right amount of salt and each bite was packed with flavor. The zabb wings are a must order. They came out piping hot. The Thai chilis, lime and mint added some great flavor. The coconut crab curry is a must order if you love seafood and curry. Rich Southern style broth with a little heat. A fan favorite and the crab was plentiful. Fish cheeks is a really small location, but they do feature seats for large parties. Service here is great and the food comes out quickly. It's best to make reservations prior. If you want authentic Thai this is your place

Nice enough place but honestly think it’s overrated. Having had plenty of Thai food, I felt like the traditional elements of Thai cuisine were lost. I know it’s been fancied up for the location but it’s not worth the hype. The prices are high - seafood is expensive yes, but $22 for a vegetable fried rice…? Still have QR code for menus which is lazy service, food served in chipped and cracked dishes, seemed a bit lacking of that extra that I expected, given the online hype. I think the place appeals to hipsters and those who have no qualms about cost/are more bothered about being in the ‘cool’ places. If you want a cocktail and a buzzy vibe, go for it. If you want a proper Thai experience, maybe try elsewhere.

Really highly rated Thai place in the city. The food is good but in my opinion a little pricey for what you get. People rave about the fish but I think it’s ok.

We were amazed by the quality of the food here . Had the she crab and the branzini . The watercress was a little too spicy for me but that's my problem .

Not your basic pad Thai, curry and basil neighborhood Thai restaurant, this NoHo gem features the sort of high level, sophisticated dishes you might find at the finest restaurants in Thailand. The brothers owner/chefs bring sophisticated Bangkok restaurant experience (one) and CIA (the Hyde Park CIA) training (the other) to one kitchen. Wow. And they know how to provide the finest service, always with a smile.

This recently opened Thai restaurant on the noho area is a great option for fresh thai food, althought the menu is (as most of new york restaurants) small, there are enough good dishes to worth a visit, it's not as spicy as i expected (i would prefered more kick). We had the shrimp in 3 crabs sauce, Hat Yai fried chicken, Crispy garlic branzino and crab fried rice, and everything was delicious. I just found the branzino too small to be a family-style dish but it was anyway delicious.
Trendy spot + delicious Thai food
I really liked the ambience of Fish Cheeks – it has a laid-back, almost tropical vibe that provides refuge from the hustle and bustle of NYC. Everything about the meal was great, from our happy our cocktails to our delicious crab fried rice and crab curry. The food was very flavorful and the portions were a good size. I normally don’t go for seafood when I eat Thai food, but I ended up being quite impressed with Fish Cheeks.
