We stopped in for a late dinner. The place was busy but we were seated right away. Had the calamari and the cacio de pepe. The food was excellent.

Eggplant parm tasted like breadcrumbs with sauce. Sent back salmon twice... too raw. Caponata and salads good. Service was very good.

We went to this place before a show at The Stand. Food was ok, but overpriced. We had a variety of small plates and some wine. They do have good panna cotta. Servers were very attentive even though the restaurant was full.

This is my 2nd time at Follia. Both times have been great experiences. They serve Italian fare and are known for their wood-fired pizza. And that’s what I had! Both the funghi & pesto pizza are thin crust, flavorful & delicious. Their service is excellent. In fact, the first time I was there, I left my black blazer by mistake. I called the next day to ask about it. Within a few hours they called me back to say they found it. I asked them to hold onto it as I would be returning the following Sunday for dinner. When I was there for the 2nd time, they promptly returned my blazer. This was an added touch to their already great service! Conclusion: great food, great service & nice atmosphere.

A neighborhood restaurant that attracts people from all around. Casual, comfortable, young and old, lighter Italian, carefully prepared and consistently delicious. Young, friendly staff. There is outdoor seating, but like many avenue restaurants the traffic and sirens are a cautionary tale.

Lovely place to sit and unwind. Great food, great service, not the usual fare. Very tasty. Dark, though -- if you're older, take your glasses.

Good food, service very good.Friendly atmosphere family friendly. You can sit and eat in bar area or in the dining room.

Walked by here and thought it looked lovely so came by for dinner later on. Really nice food, reasonably priced and had a great atmosphere on the Wednesday evening that we were there. Not a ‘tourist trap’ type of restaurant - good, honest food and good service. Would definitely recommend.

Delicious Itakian food and fast service. Had the burrata crostini and bolognese, both of which were very good. The complimentary foccacia

I've eaten here several times. The place is busy and very noisy. The layout devotes most space to the bar & pizza crowd - counter-height tables & stools. The regular tables are too close together and the round tables "for two" are small and cramped. Food is generally good, nothing special. Small portions, uneven quality, and high prices make it a poor value. Service is geared to turning over the table quickly. Certainly the noise level discourages lingering over desert (limited choice and high price) and coffee. If you're on a date you may have to text each other to have a conversation. There are tables outside, but there is no divider between the tables and heavily trafficked sidewalk so you have the sensation of eating in the middle of the unattractive street. Really unappealing.

The pizza was lovely, bread and oil good, but we felt persecuted by too many waiting staff. First one spilled water (no apology) and others stalked around like they couldn't wait for us to go. No it wasn't at all busy. Plates were literally taken away while we were still eating last mouthful. Wouldn't return.

Every time I passed La Follia on 3rd Ave I wanted to eat there. Finally, I went with a group of friends. I was very impressed. The prices aren't outrageous like some (most) nice restaurants in Manhattan. I got the burrata crostini ($7) and the cavatappi, which was made with cauliflower, butternut squash, and breadcrumbs ($16.50). Yum. Both were fantastic and I highly recommend this place. I don't recall the service being extraordinary, and we ate outside at a table on the sidewalk because the inside was packed, which was a little cramped. The food and price make it definitely worth going to, though.

Friendly courtious service good atmosphere and good food. Great neighborhood restaurant well worth the visit.

We make sure to go a few times when in the city! The food is authentic and delicious. The service is courteous , friendly and knowledgeable. Very popular, make reservations

Went to La Follia over a year ago at their old location up the street and had a really good experience so figured we would stop by the new space on 3rd Ave. We went for dinner tonight and had a great meal. Service was good, food was great and the new space is really nice. High top tables in the front bar side of restaurant ( we sat here), full dining room inside and outdoor seating are all available. Personal meatball piazza was spot on and the cacio y pepe pasta was really good. Definitely worth a visit if your in the neighborhood.

If you want to feel like a local, come here. Why? Well... Ode to La Follia: slice of life little kiddies chaperoned by grandparents families for an early dinner or Sunday brunch ladies wind-down hour with glass of wine couples wanting quiet conversation people watchers with pets on the sidewalk old ditties dining solo lots of regulars who sit at the bar out-of-towners gramercy gossips peaceful patio sipping tasty tapas testing good times

Stumbled across this little place Wednesday night whilst exploring Flatiron and East Village areas of Manhattan. Had a great meal, I had the fish from the specials and it was beautifully cooked my girlfriend had spaghetti also really tasty. We shared a desert, the chocolate cake and it was perfect. Great mood in the restaurant, great service from the staff. Location was nice, I always like to explore off the beaten tourist track and La Follia was a great reward for getting away from the hectic tourist areas. I highly recommend. Visited Wednesday 28th October 2014.

We have been here before and needed a good place to stop and chill on a rainy NY day. The staff here are always pleasant and very accommodating. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone in the east village!

We stopped in for wine and stayed for dinner. A casual and family oriented restaurant with great food. We started with an appetizer and went on to calamari and a great salad. This was a find and we would go back. That wine list is very adequate. The service is attentive and not overbearing.

Went for the prix fixed which included a cocktail and coffee! I had a brunch pizza with egg, mushroom and mozzarella. Wonderful smoky flavor done just right. Wife opted for a hanger steak perfectly prepared rare which came with eggs and truffle fries. Each of us had the Follia cocktail - Proseeco, Aperol, lemon, honey. Very unique and refreshing. Coffee also very smooth. Great value, food and atmosphere.

staff very unattentive gave my other half pesto pasta instead of pizza...as veggie he thought ok it was sausage pasta.....arghhh. had to walk across resturaunt to get condiments....and order more fries as i was hungry....wont be back.

I love La Follia - so much so that I order from there are least 1-2x/week. Their food is delicious, well priced and always super fresh. It's also a nice addition to the neighborhood - never packed, but a good scene if you're looking for a fun date night or girls night out.

My favorite local Italian spot. Half wine bar, half restaurant, you'll get classic Italian food that never fails. Get a crostini to start and the orchiette pasta. You can thank me later.

We got to the restaurant around 9 and it was full of guests, both on the restaurant side and the wine bar side. The hostess was great about checking in with us to let us know our table status. The salads and pasta dishes we had were great. But of particular note was the dessert, the apple butterscotch bread pudding was amazing and must be tried!

In the course of a week when staying nearby while on holidays, we ate twice at La Follia. The menu has a range of options to suit all including a number of vegetarian selections. The food generally was good (except see the following). The wine list has a good selection of Italian wines. I have given this restaurant an average rating as within 4-6 hours of eating here ... one of our party suffered tummy upsets (1st time) and after the 2nd occasion I was up vomiting all night just prior to flying out at 6 am the next day.

In a neighborhood with few restaurants, this is a decent Italian option. Their pizzas are the best thing on the menu with the coal oven, the pastas are just ok but not terrible. The drinks are good here as well, it's worth a visit

My favorite neighborhood restaurant . Always great. But why did you take the baby kale Caesar salad off the menu? It was really wonderful and one of the reasons for my frequent visits. Boo-hoo!

The last couple of times were very good so we decided to drop in for Sunday brunch with her parents. Food was good though the service was a little bit hit or miss today but it was still a good time. Off the brunch menu: Eggs Benedict - really well poached eggs and the hollandaise was fantastic but the speck was just a little shy, would've been better with a nice slab of Canadian Eggs Florentine - pretty much the same, maybe a dose better than the Benedict Margherite Panini - yum Gorgonzola Burger - yum too but needed a bit more searing on the meat to hold the juices in before it got to the table Like many NYC places, there's outdoor seating which is really nice when it hits 70+ outside.

I was visiting family and friends in New York. I wanted an Italian restaurant that was low key (not touristy) with excellent food at reasonable prices. La Follia was the perfect choice. It is a smallish restaurant that seems to cater to local residents. We entered a super cute bar and ordered cheese and meat appetizers. The waiter was very nice and helped us with our food choices. He also recommended wine (since their selection was mostly Italian wines). He even brought me tastings so I could pick my favorite. When a table was available, we were efficiently moved to our table. A wonderful round table tucked in the corner. Perfect for gathering around and conversation. Like most New York restaurants, the tables are fairly close together. But it wasn't an issue for us. We liked the intimate atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I ordered eggplant parm and it was exceptional. Sliced very thin and delicious. It was served with sautéed spinach. The bread brought to the table was fresh, soft inside with a wonderful crust. We had dessert and it too was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience and food. We lingered for a couple of hours and were ever rushed. One of the advantages of not eating near the theater district. I highly recommend if you are looking to escape into a local Italian restaurant in New York. Not fancy, but oh so good.

I've eaten here twice now, once with the wife and once with a friend - both times the meals were solid. The panini is nice, good meat selection, but the dish to get is the butternut squash and cauliflower pasta. Try it out if your in the area.

Follia is located on 3rd Ave and 17th street. Great service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is good and nice bar as well. Recommended.

Went to La Follia last week with a friend. It's a good neighborhood place with a nice atmosphere and a good selection of food with fair prices. One thing that was annoying, besides that our waiter was not particular pleasant or efficient, was that the fried calamari was served with a very small amount of marinara sauce, disproportionate to the generourous portion of calamari. We asked for more sauce which took a long time to arrive and when the check came we were charged $2 for the additional sauce. I've been to many, many restaurants but I have never been charged for extra sauce or dressing. Found it much more of an annoyance than anything else -- obviously the $2 wasn't going to kill us. Putting this aside, everything was pretty good and I would recommend La Follia if you are in the area. Wouldn't necessarily travel too far for it.

This Italian restaurant used to be The Old Forge. I sat outside on the sidewalk, and had a dish of spaghetti with meat sauce as a main course.

Although La Follia is a neighborhood place, it's worth taking a bus / subway to this Gramercy Park Italian restaurant. Since it opened in 2010, it's become a favorite with young and old alike. It can get noisy in the main room, but the bar is, surprisingly, quieter as long as there's not an important game on TV. Regardless, the atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The food is superb: small plates or generously sized main courses -- you can't go wrong. The Truffled Creamy Polenta alone is worth the trip! The Hanger Steak and Polpette also are great. So are the pastas. The service is good, attentive, and always friendly without being intrusive. Their outdoor seating area is comfortable, although 3rd Avenue can have heavy traffic (pedestrian & vehicular). You won't be sorry you made the trip.

They have a great set up outside with coverage that makes dinning outside in NYC enjoyable. The speck and pear pizza was delicious as was the burrata salad. I'll admit I was skeptical of the wine on tap but we gave it a try and I'd order again. The Spanish rioja was good. Management was very accommodating and kind which was much appreciated. As a local to the neighborhood I'll continue to return.

We tried a ton of different food here, and some definitely outshone the rest. By far the highlight was their house-made sourdough with some kind of smoked spread. We've been dreaming about it ever since. Their best pizza we had is definitely the one with cream cheese and hot peppers on it -- out of this world. It's good pizza (though not the best in the city), and we had really great service. A fun dinner spot. The house-made papardelle was nice, and their salt and pepper ribs were good as well. Their maple budino was an awesome way to end the night.

Have been here several times for brunch, but this time we arrived a bit too late for that menu. Had several bar snacks, all of which were pretty delicious (generous portions, too) and several equally delicious cocktails. Too bad the weather wasn't nice because this is a great place to sit at one of the outdoor tables. Still prefer the brunch menu, but the service was just as friendly - and the prices just as reasonable - as during brunch, Gotta make it to dinner one of these days.

Ordered 2 pizzas. Came out burnt. Husband left all of his as there was only the taste of the tomato paste. Do not go if your an English tourist as you are ignored. Very dissapointed and upset we were treated so rudely.

Great for lunch. Enjoyed the mussels and the seared yellow-fin tuna sandwich in a nice and bright environment. Friendly staff.

Surprisingly good Italian food in a very nice setting. A cozy environment in bust NYC. Very friendly staff that can help you pick the right dishes.

Great food, busy but still intimate. Two seperate sections. One for casual walk-in and the other is for a more traditional dinner.

When we moved to the neighbourhood, the old Follia used to be our favourite because of the atmosphere and great wines. Since they moved to their new locations, everything went downhill. The portions are far too small for even a European restaurant! I tried two different main dishes (handmade pasta and braised lamb ragu)at two different occasions and both were disappointing! The portions of these secondies are so small that they would hardly pass the criteria of a starter at another place. Its sad to see my former favourites becoming a no go even though it is opposite to my house!

We ordered several dishes including the Pappardelle (brazed pork w/pasta) and the Trout, both excellent! We also ordered a pizza, again very good. Prices reasonable, service good. Would I eat here again you ask? You bet!

We met for Sunday brunch to celebrate our friend's birthday. We were greeted warmly on a raw, rainy day. Brunch was delicious; we ordered the $22 brunch: a pasta dish, eggplant parm and Eggs Benedict, all delicious with Bellini and Bloody Mary, drinks included with coffee. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Try the tiramisu dessert--a generous and yummy portion enough to share.

They moved across the street and down a block. I like it better at this location. Food got simpler and better. Good selection of beers and decent wine. The food was good. We had pizza, pasta and fish. All tasty and plentiful.

Light lunch eggs Benedict. $10. Wood tables. Casual. Nice service, clean restroom. Tables on the sidewalk too.

Four of us met for drinks and dinner. The food was very good. Had a couple of appetizers (olives, rice balls) and a fine meal. I chose the bolognese and was very pleased with the taste and portion size. The venue is small and I was bumped by every waiter who walked by but that was a minor inconvenience. The bottle of wine was good and reasonable ($42 for a nice red). Drinks were $10-12. The total for four including drinks and tip was about $200.

I was really surprised to find I have never reviewed this quaint and charming venue. Albeit, I have been here with family and friends several times. It has never disappointed. On this occasion, our small table shared the following: (1) A carafe of pinot grigio; (2) The Calamari Stuzzichini, which was crispy, fresh and covered in a tasty coating. It was accompanied by a nice, zesty cocktail sauce; (3) The Halibut Special, which was cooked well with crispy skin. It was accompanied by fresh and crunchy asparagus, sugar snap peas and broccoli rabe. The sauce was lemony and creamy (perhaps just a little too tart, but that's me being really picky); and (4) Tiramisu for dessert, which was full of delicious creamy mascarpone, sweet Espresso flavor with a hint of booze. The atmosphere was vibrant, even though Covid-19 restrictions were in place. A nice place for meeting friends and family. Service was excellent with our well-informed server, David, who was polite and efficient. Completely enjoyable and a great deal for pricey Manhattan at a total of just over $100 without tip.

This restaurant took over the location of a one that had been a local favorite for many years. It was never great, but it served good food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, this is not living up to that standard. I hadn't been impressed by a couple of dinners I had. One I had the other night left a bad impression. The endive salad had little endive and came undressed. The pasta had too much pesto and was on the dry side. I've been enjoying one particular dish for brunch, an egg dish with creamy polenta and mushrooms. So yesterday I had that at brunch. A little while later I had an attack of a very upset stomach. I can't be sure it was from the brunch, but I can't be sure it wasn't. I am very disappointed that I know longer have a local restaurant that I can rely on to have a descent meal at a reasonable price.

A few friends met for a casual dinner on a week night. We started with the crostini and they had different toppings to pick from. We had the burrata, olive oil and sea salt for an appetizer. The arugula and grilled romaine salads were great. We each had pasta dishes- they were fresh and delicious. We had enough to bring some home! For dessert, we got the crostini with mascarpone and honey. Nice ending to a wonderful meal!

Low lighting, long bar, cozy tables and hi tops! My all time fave is the Spaghetti Bolognese! The Arancini and assortment of Crostini are delicious as well. Not to be missed are the various personal sized pizzas made in their wood-fired oven that come out blistered and rustic. The employees are friendly and explain the dishes well. Whether you go for brunch, lunch or dinner, you will always leave full!

It was so good. I highly recommend the food!! The service is really good and I would definitely go back again to have some delicious food!

The service and the ambiance are on point, top notch all the way. I was blown away not only by how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was, but also by how quickly we got our food. Great spot!

The place was pretty dead when we went on a Sunday for dinner, the restaurant is cute and server was nice, but the food was severely meh. I would erase that visit and never go back if I could. Not bad, just not enjoyable at all.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner outside. The hanger steak was very good -- tender and seasoned just right. The truffle fries were tasty, but a little too salty. My daughter had the salmon and it was fresh, but nothing special. The wine list was quite adequate. Service was terrific on a Saturday night.

Eat here often with bae... love it. Have to have the cacio pepe and the burrata crostini. Very cool vibe and just a overall great place!

Thank you for the exceptional customer service, and delicious food. I am a New Yorker that has never visited this restaurant, and I was just looking for a quick meal, while on lunch from work. I was not disappointed, O my gosh my food was hot and well seasoned; thank you so much and you have a new loyal customer.

The three of us (wife & our daughter who lives in NYC) had a great brunch with the unlimited cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Quinn was a great waiter in providing terrific service of the wonderful food and the cocktails. We also had a nice chat with him about which ones of us live and don't live in NYC. The food was wonderful, atmosphere great (with a cool day in July!), and the service outstanding!

Went here Sunday Jan 31, 2016 for afternoon brunch. A quaint little italian restaurant with friendly staff. Great light from the large glass window/doors. Food was excellent and service very friendly. Good selection of lunch and breakfast items on menu. Will definitely be returning.

My wife and I go here a lot. Food is good and it is very consistent. Service is great. Family friendly.

A bit disappointing. There were a plate of tiny muffins at the table. We asked for more for a one year old and instead of just bringing it, a lady came out and told us it would be a dollar. The muffin was the size of my thumb. Another $2 charge if we wanted to substitute a different cheese. The carafe of water had a film on the bottom and had to be replaced. I don’t think I’ll be going back!

Twelve of us descended on La Follia after a college graduation nearby. The dining room was reserved for a private party, but we were able to sit at 3 tables for 4 outside, underneath some heat lights - very comfortable despite the breeze and temperatures in the 50s. Several of us had pizza from the brick oven (very good, and some unusual choices). I had the branzino, which was fine, if nothing special. Pleasant, attentive service, and the people watching was excellent. Please note - actual address 179 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10003 - different from that shown in TripAdvisor - look up La Follia in Google to confirm. 226 3rd Avenue is Sal Anthony's.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and we are always pleased with the food, wine and service - we will be coming back soon.

There's a really lovely atmosphere in this place. Its simply laid out. Its warm and welcoming, especially on a freezing New York winter evening. There's a great funky vibe with good music, candle lights, friendly staff. There's a relaxed bar area, or you can go through to a restaurant, but both looked and felt very laid back and intimate. And the food is just simple and well done. On one trip I had some lovely crostini followed by a superb orrichetti pasta with fennel, sausage and broccoli that was hearty and full of flavour. It was so what I needed - simple and satisfying - that having toyed with going to a Chinese restaurant I decided to go back to La Follia and had a marvellous dish of calamari that was light and fresh, followed by a pasta and tomato dish that was full of flavour. The only dud note was serving the calamari with a pot of tomato sauce, but maybe others had asked for it and hey - I just left it to one side. The lemon wedges were all it needed. On both occasions I had a carafe of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. I was on my own on this trip to NY and it was the perfect place to spend an hour or so, people watching. The staff were friendly and attentive.

I love coming here with my girlfriends. Though they don't take reservations it usually doesn't take too long to get seated (30 minutes max usually). The food is good and reasonably priced. I've been many times and will be back again.

I had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. the staff were kind and helpful and the food was great! The lunch menu is affordable by manhattan standards.

I recently had a late lunch at Follia. I ordered pizza. What I was served was clearly a piece that had been warmed up(not fresh) and not even hot, even after I asked for it to be made hotter. I ate it because I was hungry, but did not enjoy it. On a previous visit last month I initially had difficulty in getting service. Apparently the waitress thought it was more important to set up empty table than serve me. Furthermore, I ordered sparkling water and received a rather large bottle, clearly meant for a group larger than 1. The waitress should have told me it was not an individual serving. Fortunately, that waitress went off duty and service was good after that. When I complained about the large bottle, it was atken off my bill. I am really sorry most of my visits here have been unsatisfactory. The menu is ok, but limited. I was hoping this would be my favorite neighborhood restaurant., but alas not.

We walked past this restaurant earlier and talked about stopping. After a disappointing try at another restaurant that didn’t have vegan options for our daughter, we decided to try Follia. Great surprise as not only did they accommodate our daughter’s vegan needs the meal was fantastic and reasonably priced. Plus they included a dessert for all the trouble we had at the other restaurant!!!! Great atmosphere and delicious food. Make sure you go there if you are in the east village!

We really enjoyed this evening of (mostly) small plates, by our choosing, and wines BTG! Recommended to us by a NYC friend and glad we sought it out. Sooo many food & sooo many wine choices, and soooo little time.....P.S. the Tiramisu is one of the best if not the best my wife has ever eaten! If we lived in NYC, La Follia would be habit-forming! BTW the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I really appreciated the help on with the cheese selections. Thanks, Iris!

No reservations and very few tables, but go early and have a terrific meal with imaginative specials offered daily. Staff is indulgent, to say the least.

My wife and I were looking for an outdoor place to enjoy a quick brunch and we found it. The place was quite spacious with a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. The brunch menu is quite varied and they offer a price fix and a bottomless option, which is quite filling. The staff was friendly without being overly obtrusive.

We happened to be staying nearby and wandered in on our way from the subway to our lodging and glad we did. We were warmly greeted in a charming atmosphere, had a few adult beverages and one of their carefully crafted pizzas. The bartender was first class and even suggested moving our bar seats to a quieter location as a party was about to begin. If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be a regular.

Went to have pizza and it was the worst thing I have ever tried in my life.No cheese all tomato paste. Staff was not interested so we left to find somewhere we could it the food.

La Follia moved here from its spot further up the street. It replaced Mumbles with new décor and new menu both of which are a welcome change. We've been twice and both times were pleased with the service, the food and the prices. Our new "local".

food good staff great good for brunch no complaints, the pizza was like a homemade one in italy. menu was simple but covers all the spots

Found this place that was close to where I was staying on July 4. I was looking for some good italian comfort food but didn't want any place too fancy as I was alone. Follia was perfect as they had a bar area where I had my dinner. The home made pasta dish I had was so delicious it was exactly what I needed after a long day walking around the city.

Went for dinner last night. Really nice wine selection . Food was amazing . Meet ball appetizer, meet and cheese plate, burrata appetizer was delicious. Pasta was homemade , very tasty. Great atmosphere , great service. Would love to go back again!

I went as a couple. The waitress was amazing and sweet and smiling. The food was good. The nice place. One of the best restaurants tried in nyc.

this is one of those small neighborhood places that I don't want to tell anyone about because it's so tiny and I want to be able to go anytime I please. alas, it's simply FAR TOO GOOD not to share with others. the warmth, hospitality, ambience, and FOOD are all reasons to get you to this place. but the food and service will have you coming back again and again. just like us. we love it. we can't get enough of it. it's best for only 2-4 people and even with 4, it's tight. but the cavatelli pasta dish, the crostini with ricotta and honey, the wine choices, and the beets are the 4 4 reasons we DIE for La Follia! You cannot go wrong with anything, it's just that those 4 are my personal favorites. It can get a little loud, so be prepared. but you'll NEVER be disappointed.

The food was very good, and not overwhelming. Layered eggplant was delicious, served lasagna style. The fish special (branzino) was cooked just right with a crsipy skin. Pasta was al dente. It is a very small building that fills up fast, but we only had to wait 10 minutes. If you're expecting typical Italian, then you may not like it.

I happened to view an Instagram post and thought that the food and location were perfect for my NYC visit. It did not disappoint. The food and service were exemplary and we were so fortunate to be able to take advantage of their wonderful Happy Hour offerings for both food and adult beverages. Heather was our server and answered all questions and was so welcoming as I asked for several samples of the draft beers.

The cheese plate was excellent, the bartender was delightful. Dinner was fine, the waiter read the specials from his device. I would come back again more for drinks and small bites, as opposed to dine.

Went to La Follia for a quick bite before a concert at Gramercy Theater. The restaurant is divided into two sections, one side is more trendy with a cool bar and the other side is more for dine-ins (still cozy but more formal). We sat at the bar. The bar is small but very comfortable and the wooden cabinets and steel counter made it pleasant to sit at and enjoy our food and drinks. The food and drinks came very fast. We enjoyed vodka tonics (they only had house vodka – which was fine, grey goose, and cattle one). We had a burger. It was good size with caramelized onions, blue cheese on a focaccia roll with truffled french fries ($13). I recommend this place for a casual dinner or simply for a drink(s). Enjoy!

My wife and I went to Follia after a long day trekking around Manhattan. Perfect spot for salad, pizza, wine and atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more food and take advantage of the full bar. Loved the relaxed vibe and tasty food at Follia.

Went to the new location on Sunday night at 7:00. Busy but wasc l able to get a table. Nice menu. We shared the meatball and rice ball appetizers. Both were delicious and the meatballs come with a great sauce. My companion has the spaghetti pomodoro and I had the eggplant parmigiana. Both were nice sized portions and were delicious. We shared a tasty tiramisu for dessert. We each had a glass of Sancerre to start followed by a carafe. The food came to $51.00 and wine to $60.00. Then added a tip. Not an inexpensive tab for a local restaurant but it was for good value, friendly service and delicious food. Will go back soon.

Went to Follia for brunch and had a great time! We got there pretty early at 11:30, so it was relatively empty but when we left around 2 it had gotten loud and busy. There’s a prix fixe option, $22 for an entree + coffee + cocktail. We added $8 for the 2hr bottomless drinks (this goes up to $35 if you have 6+ people). Food was solid, I had a funghi nuovo breakfast pizza with some really wonderful mozzarella and a great chewy crust. Drinks were standard but the service was great - any time my glass was empty it was seconds later that someone came by asking if I wanted another. They also let you switch around the drinks, so you can start with a Bloody Mary and move to Bellinis or whatever is your preference. Vibe is cozy. Def recommend for reasonably priced p good Italian food and great service.

This is a relocated place that used to be a block or two north on Third Avenue. It is a casual local place filled with locals. Even the owners are local. Nice bar area and large area for dining on Italian food. This is not a destination itself for food, but a local place with decent food/ambience.

Overcooked bland pasta, bad wine, greasy calamari and forgettable bread. I think that says it all, but as one has to write more I should add the restaurant itself looks like a chain - maybe it is, and it had no character whatsoever

La Follia is one of my neighborhood go-to's when I want good Italian food in a cozy, friendly atmosphere.

At the end of a long day, after walking hundred miles through the beautiful city of new york my feet hurt and my stomach was missing home meals. My mother is italian so all i wanted after 5 days of hot dogs and burguers was spagetty ala bolognesa! and God i got it in La Follia!. My spagetti wasnt just spagetti, it was a beautiful plate well served colorfull and plenty of aromas! Great meal !

I visited La Follia with my friend. Staffs are fairly polite and courteous. Foods are amazing! I loved the pasta, in particular. This place is all good for family, friend and couple occasions. Hope you guys enjoy it too :)

Went here for dinner and then restaurant was barely full and the service was so slow. It took us 10 minutes to get a menu and then 15 to order. The food was good when it finally came but the main meal didn't come until an hour and 15 after we ordered and we never received the bread appetizer. When I said something to the waitress she responded with attitude That they were out of bread and "slammed". Unfortunately, hard for me to recommend a restaurant that complains when they're "so busy" as any good restaurant owner should want that.

We split pasta and pizza, and both were awesome. Well worth a few blocks' walk to get to. We nearly ordered everything again it was that good, but figured that would be crazy. Definitely going back the next time I'm in NY.

Delicious and interesting, this little restaurant on the Lower East Side is often packed, but it is so good.

Unfortunately I went in with higher expectations...while the wine bar has a great happy hour, that's sorta where things stopped. The service was a bit intermittent. We sat in the bar area tables and it was a bit hit or miss whether we should be working with the bartender or the wait staff in the section. When we wanted to order something we went to the bar, but was told that we had a server, but really that person seemed no where to be found and repeatedly was absent when we needed them. After getting orders in, things just stayed rather average. Our appetizer salad portion size was less than to be desired. You really couldn't split it, but it was definitely made to seem by staff it was shareable. The burrata was no more than a healthy dollop over some greens. Not impressed. Our entrees were basic at best. My branzino while plated looked pretty good, it was over cooked, not too well seasoned and just lacked that balance between light and fresh with proper seasoning and flavorful gusto. While nothing was terrible, nothing stood out either. There are far better places to get Italian fare.

A bit of a hike to the dens of the denizens where the people, never mind the reputation of the City that Never Sleeps reside. This unpresuming restaurant is full of the movers and shakers that make NYC run. People from the Cyber Society to the Music Scene, and overall food lovers like to congregate. Italian is spoken here as well as remarkably comprehensible English. Best of all, of course is the food. Reasonable, not tons of food choke the portions which are intelligently and delicately balanced. Try the authentic New York Style Pizza, or get one with a healthy vegetable garnish topping for a treat. Try the simple light plates as a kind of Italian Tapas...meatballs, mushrooms, crostini, pasta of all kinds...good for a light touch. Try several. A stunning wine list by bottle or glass. Sangiovese is a great accompaniment; liquor and/or beer in every flavor. Enjoy the essential New York experience. Not cheap, but good value for money.

LaFollia opened last year a block from our co-op in Gramercy Park. The location seemed to be cursed as three other reestaurants had opened and closed in their location in the past five years. La Follia though seems to be a keeper. The owners are professionals who previously ran Candela and Irving Mill. My wife and I have dined five or six times at LaFollia and never been disappointed. It is however a small space and as it is known for low prices is frequently overcrowded. You may have to play "kneesies" with the people at the next table and therein lies the reason I rate tham average rather than the next step. The dishes are interesting the staff is nice but I am a rather big guy with a big appetite and I find the portions size not up to my expectations. Well I guess prices compensate for the portion size to many. (but not to me)..

A must-try for gourmet pizza fanatics, and Italian cuisine connoisseurs in general. A superb menu (not to mention reasonably priced), plus a warm ambience and gracious service. Pretty much perfect!

Looking for a place for an early dinner/late lunch and La Follia was terrific! We came in during brunch and had a Mimosa with some wonderful bruschetta, then the midday menu came and we had some terrific sliced to order prosciutto. All were wonderful! I really wanted the cavatelli with cauliflower but that wasn't available until 5pm. Low and behold the bartender put in the order and said let's see what happens...presto out it comes no problem and it was fantastic! Delightful, great food and we'll be back!
Delicious!
A warm and inviting atmosphere with a very friendly staff. My pizza was delicious! Go if you are in the area.
