Great Bar For Any Sports Fan

By stephenosharkey |

we were over for St. Patricks weekend and looked to find somewhere to watch the fa cup match. we went into legends and straight away we knew this was going to be a place to watch it. firstly the hospitality was second to none, very efficient and nothing was a problem. our party had a mix of breakfast and some had lunch all of which was lovely. Enda was an absolute gentleman. if your looking a bar to watch a match, get a bite to eat this place is hard to beat. will be back.

Awesome place

Based on the lack of review, I guess i am somewhat in the minority for loving this place. Went very early to see some Premier League. Got a belly up seat and then the crowds came in. Go to the basement, that's where the real fun is. There are flags everywhere and people aggregate in areas by the team they are cheering for. You hear chanting just like when you are at the games. Staff is super friendly, prices are fair and the crowd while loud, is a whole lot of fun. Great place to start of a morning in NYC even if you aren't a "football" fan. My wife isn't and she really enjoyed herself, and she's the same person who fell asleep during an actual game in Barcelona!

Great place to watch a match

By minicuttingblade |

Found this place online while looking for a place to watch Sheffield United play Cardiff City. Ended up watching the match with the New York Bluebirds who meet here and who didn’t rub it in too much when they scored a last minute equaliser! The barman was really chatty - would definitely recommend!

Great place for football and breakfast

By Mark D |

This place was recommended to me by the NYC Aston Villa Supporters club (now of the Premiership). Really friendly service, great beer, top breakfast, and loads of screens to watch the footy on. Family friendly too. All at the foot of the Empire State Building.

Lovely pub vibe, good food, great service.

Cool old building, cozy pub vibe, good food. Fries, burgers and fish and chips all tasted good. Great service. Prices reasonable by NY standards.

Watching the OWLS Lose ( again )

Loved every minute of it in this place atmosphere absolutely brilliant. The place has a lovely set out with nearly every picture/shirt you can think of from all over. Well worth just calling In to have a look and take a few pictures! Unfortunately for me my team got hammered haha. Onwards and upwards! UTO 🦉🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️ Thank you for a wonderful experience

Plenty screens and good food.

My husband wanted a pub to watch Hearts V Hibs and they were open and accommodating at 7am. Lots of screens work plenty options for fans of all teams. We hadn’t planned to stay for breakfast but decided to and it was tasty with generous portions.

Are you mugging me off?

Football Factory - Is a Chelsea hangout, as in the notorious 2005 film The Football Factory. 🔵🔵 Blue Is The Colour 🥷🏾

Just had to visit

By Paul M |

This was definitely on my list to visit. Being a big Norwich City (Canaries) fan I had to visit the home of the New York Canaries. Bit disappointed when I walked in as it was not what I expected at all. But we sat down and had a drink. It was only after a while that I realised that there was a downstairs, it wasn't open but I was allowed down for a look. This was more like it and I found our Norwich City shirt proudly displayed in the bar. The gentleman who was downstairs kindly took my picture while standing under the shirt. Went back upstairs and had another drink, friendly bar lady and the service was great.

Taken over from Nevada Smith's as NY's top footy venue

By rav1oli |

Atmospheric and offers all options for EVERY game you could possibly want to see. This place reminded me of Nevada Smith's in its heyday. Unsurprisingly it's run by the same fella that ran Nevada's on 14th Street. As such, this place is full of the atmosphere created by the plethora of supporters clubs based at this bar... AC Milan, Athletico, PSG to name hut a few. There are screens everywhere, flags everywhere, fans singing and chanting and a mixture of languages, accents, and fans from all over the globe. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to watch the big game...THIS IS NOT the place for you. If you fancy somewhere with atmosphere, alcohol flowing, chanting, and some bants....you'll be hard-pressed to find a better location. Get there early enough to secure a spot in the basement area to avoid standing for the duration.

Good pub

By Ricky B |

Came in here to watch the England game . Two floors they serve a lot of different beers and food ,you can have a tab if needed very friendly and a good place for a beer .everyone welcome . A good place to go

Avoid!

By inkedup |

Went there on the recommendation that it was a fun bustling bar, our experience proved it was anything but. $18 for 2 ciders by barstaff who were more interested in their phones than the customers. If you want a proper New York bar go to Jack Dempsey’s down the street and not this place.

I’ve been this pub before so I know what it’s like but decided to go watch my team play in the FA cup last week on a Saturday. The thing is it’s a big pub well laid out with plenty of tellys and seats upstairs with a “den” of some sort downstairs but the prices, come on guys no specials when the footballs on? What’s that all about, premium prices for all the draught beers 8 or 9 dollars. Throw in some starters to eat (sharing with partner) and after a couple of hours you are looking at over $100. I’m sorry but that’s ridiculous, you ain’t the only bar showing the football and that’s the last time I will be going, it’s a rip off. The nachos were shocking drowning in some form of cheese that I was unaccustomed to People might be thinking that come over from the Uk, that it’s the only pub showing the football, far from it. I found lots, Abbey Tavern on 3rd Avenue (discounted beer, good seating, good food), Brazen Tavern West 44th Street, again good prices and good reasonable food. These are just a few examples but if you go in most NY bars and ask them to put the football on they will.

Day Off

By Yamas |

Weekend off from a 10 day business trip to the US. Colleague travelling with me was a big football (soccer) fan and had found some Middlesbrough expats on twitter who we arranged to meet and watch the Middlesbrough game so drove in to Manhatten early Sat morning and visited the place for breakfast and watch the match. Soft drinks for me as I needed to drive up to Boston later that day bit had a breakfast of sausages and pancakes which was tasty.

Football Boozer

By spikeymires |

The Football Factory is downstairs at Legends, in the shadow of the Empire State Building. The landlord will point you in the right direction for the TV that is showing your team - there is plenty of choice if they are not on though. This is a place to go to have a beer and shout for your team. It's a great mixture of ex pats, tourists and locals, all perfectly managed to create a fun atmosphere.

Fine to watch football! Good atmosphere

By Doug london |

I was in need of a bar for a 10.00am kick off to watch my team play whilst on vacation in New York. On arrival the bar looked closed as the football factory element is beneath the main bar, that said the door was open so on going downstairs it was clear this is set up for watching football with multiple screens and sections laid out for each set of fans. Despite being sat next to supporters of our main rivals we had a great view of the game with other supporters of our team. Bar service was a little intermittent but the owner recognised this and gave us a round of free drinks so assume this below there usual standard. Also on check out the bill included drinks I hadn’t ordered at all but bar staff removed no quibbles. It got very busy to be fair and I think staff did a really good job keeping the drinks flowing. Overall a really enjoyable experience and I will visit again when in New York.

I would imagine always an atmosohere

By andhewittscores |

In the shadow of the Empire State Building this place basically has all the Football on, no matter where it might be. I went in to fill time on a Saturday night, ate at the bar, perfectly acceptable squid and seafood which was good, certainly plenty of it. There was a Brazilian game on, Fluminese hammered Vasco De Gama for the record...both sets of fans in, going mental and with a great atmosphere. Met a couple of English lads, had a great laugh. Was up stairs and met friends in the Legends bar which has every US sport channel on so with this place being so central, having a great website so you can search to see if your game is on, great venue if you need to catch one in NY. Doesn't open til about 10am so no use for early early U.K. Games.

Football and beer

By R R |

Made it a mission to visit The Football Factory @ Legends. Mission accomplished. Lots of screens, so easy to watch the match Managed to get over to watch Chelsea on the opening day of the season. Great atmosphere despite of the unfavourable result. Beer selection was excellent and the bar staff were flawless. To top it all I joined The New York Blues

Going down, going down, going down

By djwitch2016 |

Avoid at all costs. This place is an overpriced tourist trap with arrogant owners and violent doormen who behave like gangsters. Smithfield Hall is a much better option for true soccer heads.

Stopped in for a few games

By truck2chief |

Arrived Sat morning about 7:15 for some of the premier league games with some friends and had a great day. The steak and eggs are great marinated terrifically. Both Jack and Olga are great and attentive bartenders we come at least 2 or 3 times a year for the games.

Great footy place !

Excellent venue to watch UK football in NYC …… the service was great, staff friendly and football atmosphere and vibe very good !!! Watched a UK lunchtime game which was 7.30am in NYC. Awesome that it was on at that time but be good if non alcoholic ie coffee was available for the early game ! Breakfast and coffee available once staff arrived circa 9 am which looked great ! Highly recommend !

English football oi oi

Cool place to go for drinks literally at the foot of the empire statue building. Dark inside, quick service at the bars and the food looked really nice! Standard pricing for drinks and showing all the UK football games!

Shhh - secret football/soccer hideaway

By Abdel-Rahman Ghandour |

This is THE place to go to for watching soccer in New York City. No questions asked. Screens everywhere, every English game shown, with commentary. Nice little areas for various fan clubs, whose flags and pictures are hang all over the bar. You can see memorabilia from River Plate amd Hajduk Split to Paris St Germain and Leicester City. Service is good and the main Irish man is a grand expert in English football himself. Opens at 7 am to show the early games on week-emds, although drinking pint after pint of beer at this easy hour - a tradition when watching football - soccer is difficult for me. But I leave happy every time, except when my team- Leeds United - loses Don't promote this place too much, otherwise it will be too packed 😄
