I went there for a quick lunch and the food was alright. However, the service was very bad.. It was dissapointing. The table infront of us also had an issue with the service! We were not the only one.

Good place for a healthy lunch, and you won't go away hungry. Can be very crowded at lunch time. Service can be inconsistent. Turkey eastside is excellent, as is the fruit plate.

Whenever we visit N.Y. we make sure we treat ourselves to a delicious lunch at Forty Carrots. Their menu has enough choices to satisfy most diners. Every dish is beautifully presented and looks fresh and inviting. Their Frozen Yogurt is very popular, but unfortunately one doesn't always have room for another dish. Highly recommended.

Bloomingdales 7th floor, posh avocado BLT plus a glass of white. Great service and attention to detail. Visited at lunchtime, many ladies doing lunch, lots of clucking, felt like being in a hen house! Nonetheless, great quality food, all organic and so nice to eat some greenery without the obligatory fries. Highly recommended.

this place is really on its own level, i cannot recommend it enough! 1000 3rd ave go check it out now!

Review exclusively for their frozen yogurt. Absolutely delicious! Most are nonfat, some lowfat. Great flavors including Plain (Tart), Coffee, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and most recently Mango! Overall, a delicious alternative to ice cream that honestly tastes much better and richer!

I visited Forty Carrots for lunch by myself so I sat at the bar. If you’re looking for a quiet dining experience, this is not your place. That being said, my salad and yogurt were delicious! I ordered the “chopped” salad with romaine (instead of the mixed greens it stated on the menu), chicken, roasted peppers, avocado, garbanzo beans, Swiss cheese, green beans and cucumbers. I asked for the Lemon dressing and really liked it! I was expecting my salad to be chopped as stated but it wasn’t. A bit disappointed since I love my salad really chopped but i didn’t want to send it back. The waiter was so-so. You could tell He didn’t want to be there and his mood reflected it. I had to ask him for a refill on my club soda as well as flag him down for my check. Now mind you, I’m at the bar, so he should have been a bit more attentive. My chocolate yogurt with walnuts was very good.

Worth getting there for their delicious yogurt ice cream! There are also cellphone charging positions

Bloomingdales' on 59th and Lexington Avenue and Third Avenue has a delightful restaurant called Forty Carrots. There is a health bar as well. I had a chicken quesidilla that was fresh and delicious and my sister had a vegetarian one.

Prompt service, with a variety of sandwiches and salads. Frozen yogurt served in giant portions (even "small"). They get you fed and back to shopping in no time.

This is the place for froyo lovers! It is perfect for a quick stop, so delish you will come back for more! Froyo Heaven

First, a lot of noise, I ordered the special that was cod fish, they brought me as a burger that the least I had was fish flavor, with potato chips and a green salad cole type, I do not recommend it

On the 7th floor of a great department store, is a great cafe. No reservations but who knows when you will be ready to eat while shopping? We waited in line for a half hour in tired legs. So it felt good to sit down finally. Nothing to rave about as far as atmosphere but the food was good. I had the Laguna wrap it was very good. The menus say it comes with carrot raisin salad and to does. It's tasty, all of the two bites they give you. But I was quite full after the meal. My friend had the spinach pie but it was overcooked. The Greek salad with it was fresh and sumptuous. Overall a nice place to get a bite to eat in the middle of shopping. Too bad I was too full to try the yogurt.

Take a break from shopping at Bloomingdales by slipping upstairs to this little eatery which provides quick service and healthy options. The serves are generous I had a spinach pie with Greek salad which was a light meal that was nice. They have a huge range of frozen yoghurt but I didn't try these as the meal was sufficient.

Delicious yoghurt plain & peanut butter (there were a choice of four flavours) with sprinkles I had granola (plenty others hundreds & thousands, M & M's, nuts, fruit etc, etc) was v.big & delicious. On top floor in Bloomie's well worth a trip was a snack but really a meal v.filling ;)

I am up rating this review from the last time as it has improved significantly. The prices did go up and will cost about $25 with a drink pp. The chicken soup are very good and fresh, not spiced or heavily salted and full of white chicken pieces. I like the trio salad (egg, tuna and chicken) with pretzel roll and the generous portion of soft serve yogurt is the best part. You can mix flavors. Service is good. Beware that there is usually long line and wait to be seated and the entire party needs to be there to be seated. You can also sit at the counter and usually faster to get seated. This is good for all ages.

The salads here are massive and delicious! Tried the mango frozen yogurt-so refreshing! I'll definitely be back!

We had lunch here the first weekend of December. It was very busy, but they did an excellent job of turning tables without feeling rushed. The staff was very pleasant. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Very healthy options and fresh. Loved it and will definitely be back on my next shopping trip in NYC.

We were looking for a bit of a healthier meal that did not come in a bowl. We found Forty Carrots a great place for a healthy meal and desserts.... huge yogurt ice cream. I particularly liked the beat salad. The yogurt ice cream comes with three different toppings and one is almost enough for two people.

Third time in. Bloomies is really upscale. Forty Carrots carries expectations well above what the nominal Diner in New York does. Unfortunately now on three occasions, Forty Carrots has let me sadly down. The one thing hat is up are the prices. In line with the Bloomie image, of course, but way too high for the quality, service, menu and ambience served up. For the price, the menu is minuscule. The salads have a large pile of greens but hardly discriminate themselves gastronomically. It's as if the objective is toil their weight-watching clientele with as many leaves as possible so they leave full but hoping they have served a diet. There's a lot of bird (chicken/turkey) on the menu but in most mundane forms and without any of the organic, anti-chemical squawk these days that commands higher prices. Salmon (farmed it seemed) is acceptable but hardly extraordinary as the price would imply. Stand in line for a while, sit down and if you feel rushed to complete your lunch, you probably are. For frozen yoghurt aficionados, head to Pinkberrys. Again, Forty C's is adequate but hardly exceptional. Bottom line, for the price, three strikes and they're out. Never again for me.

It is not easy to eat healthy, forty Carrots is a good selection of healthy organic food at normal prices.

It's a hidden gem in Bloomingdales. This restaurant serves great salads and soups, always prepared fresh. They are abundant plates with healthy ingredients and a variety of flavours. They will certainly leave you satisfied. Even when it's busy it's quiet and calm enough to catch up with a friend or co-worker.

the menu is too healthy for me. I do love the frozen yogurt though. its delicious and there are great flavours and toppings. Its definitely worth the trek to the top of bloomingdale's.

We stopped for some lunch after shopping in Bloomingdale’s. I had a turkey sandwich and my wife had the salad, both were very good! But the highlight of the show was the frozen Yoghurt! We loved it! Great service too

-By far the best Frozen Yogurt ever -They usually have 3 or 4 flavors on rotation depending when you go there. Food is great too

Ok you know they have a good thing going when there is a food truck set up outside Bloomingdales just for their frozen yogurt and the line is a block long!! Omg! Love the combo lunch they have with 1/2sandwich,soup, and cup of frozen yogurt! Love it! And if you wait in the line outside the store...trust me it's worth the wait! Wow factor!

When we got to the 7th floor at Bloomingdales, we noticed the healthy vegetarian inspired restaurant. It has a HUGE line! It took us like 15-20min before we got a table, a quite cramped table. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed of people, after the waitress took our order, I don't think more than 15 minutes went by before we got our food. The service was extremely prompt. I ordered the avocado BLT (w/ Turkey Bacon) it was delicious. Very healthy food selections, along with a significant variety in food selections. If you like healthy foods, this restaurant inside Bloomingdales, is right for you, and recommend it. It will not disappoint!

You don’t hear as much about Frozen Yogurt as you used to, but good frozen yogurt can still be found, and tucked away on the seventh floor of Bloomingdales flagship store in Manhattan is where you will find it! Forty Carrots offes four or six flavors each day and the servings are plentiful. They don’t skimp on the toppings at all, in fact they are technically “Middlings,” as they are added to the frozen yogurt half way through and then more frozen yogurt is added on top. How good is their frozen yogurt, how about so good on our most recent trip to NYC we went twice!

Well, this frozen yogurt is just to die for. We enjoyed a really nice lunch - salad, soup and nice coffees - followed by the most delightful fro-yo you could imagine. We both got plain, with two toppings each, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely worth stopping off if you need to take a load off while you walk around Bloomingdales.

Great food Healthy Choices Reasonable Prices Sit down or take Out I like it for a quick on the run bite or smoothie.

Is a healthy place to eat. Great options for salads and soups. If you are visiting Bloomingdales is a great place to eat as is inside the store.

Ok, I'll admit it: I really do appreciate a good lunchroom in a department store. And where are the department store lunchrooms of yesteryear? Bloomingdale's Forty Carrots offers, quite simply, the best department store lunch in town. Great salads, many other good, fresh offerings (soups, sandwiches, entrees, etc.). And the frozen yogurt offered for a break-with-lunch is absolutely -- dare I say it? -- to die for! Yes, it's a tad pricey. Yes, you'll feel like a "lady who lunches". But it will be so worth it.

As a self confessed frozen yoghurt addict, Forty Carrots was on my 'don't leave NYC without visiting' list. We stumbled across Bloomingdales and of course had to have a look around - well, we are tourists! Bloomingdales itself isn't anything special in my opinion, I expected extravagant food halls and shelf upon shelf of small gifts... Yet I was greeted with floor upon floor of expensive clothes, shoes, bags etc. not a complaint but it just wasn't what I was expecting. But our trip around Bloomingdales was not wasted as I knew what was waiting for me, tucked in a little corner of the 7th floor... FORTY CARROTS! We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who sat us at our table and explained the frozen yoghurt system to me (despite me knowing anyway), she was happy to help and seemed to enjoy the fact that we were English... After I'd devoured my frozen yoghurt, she introduced me to another member of staff that was English, and yet again, full of smiles and a lovely man to talk to (turned out he lived down the road from me)... Anyway, back to the yoghurt.... I was aware of the sizing there, so went for a small - half chocolate half plain, filled with strawberries and granola.... HUGE! But oh so delicious. Highly recommend Forty Carrots for any Frozen Yoghurt fans ... Just make sure you're hungry!

Disappointing given the location in Bloomingdales, and the prices. Table was not clean. Service was indifferent. The ham in our sandwich was not good quality. Would not return.

No matter where I am staying on any trip to NYC, I find a way to drop by Bloomingdales at 59th and Lexington to have a chocolate frozen yogurt. It is simply the best in the city. I also indulge in the carrot soup which comes with the restaurant’s incomparable pretzel stick. I eat at many fine restaurants, but the simple pleasures at 40 Carrots always draws me back.

This is one of my favorite NYC lunch spots. My husband, who had lived in NYC for 10 years had never been. It’s on the 7th floor of Bloomingdales 59th and Lexington location. Healthy food! You can sit at the counter if you are alone, which is a fun experience. Or, party of 12 at a table. My tip is to order the “bunched lunch”-see picture. It Can come with soup, half a sandwich and a frozen yogurt! At around $18, it’s a bargain by NYC standards.

We visited this restaurant a few years ago, and I didn't like it at all. It was good that we gave this place another chance right now. The food was really good. The service was fast and attentive without bugging. So, we liked it this time.

This one hurts to write. I love Bloomingdale’s and I love the food at forty carrots. In terms of the food — it is great. The fish is always amazing, and then kitchen is always super adaptive (as someone with allergies). The waiters are nice, and great. My bad review has to do with the management on site — or really the attitudes of the people who great you. I have been a loyal customer to forty carrots, and every single time I find myself being pointed at, or barked at. Never a hi how is your day, it’s a sigh, what can I do for you. Eye roll, how many people. Even yesterday I heard complaining, even though I showed up an hour and a half until closing and finished in 45 minutes. Whoever is the hostess clearly hates their job, and it has not been one but many people. My review should be so positive as someone who loves the establishment so much, but I honestly think Bloomingdale’s needs to do a better job checking who is their hostess at their staple restaurant in order to retain clients. On many occasions I wanted to go to forty carrots and choose not to, because I know I’d be greeted as if I should not be entering the place, and annoy the woman at the front. If I was Bloomingdale’s and wanted to maintain the same quality as the handbags or the Luxery clothing and shoes, I would immediately change the first faces entering the restaurant.

This place has ben in Bloomingdales forever. It used to be in the basement and is now where the linens and bedding department is at. The place is worth a try if you love yogurt. They also have some decent sandwiches. My last visit was disappointing though. Our waitress stressed that we need to eat a minimum of $10 per person. That has never been a rule, the other times I have been there. That just made the experience unpleasant.

I hadn't eaten here in a while but decided to stop in while shopping at Bloomingdale's. I shall definitely stop again. Service was friendly and fast, and I had the best omelette (Swiss, spinach, mushroom) that I've had in a long time. It was a good size portion and came with a wonderfully healthy side salad both in ingredients and size. Remember to have the famous Forty Carrots frozen yogurt for dessert, and you can use your Bloomingdale's charge!

At first I didn't understand what the rave was all about. How could a frozen yogurt place in Bloomingdales cause an uproar and friends to give praise for over 5-minutes. This all changed when I had my first spoonful. Most frozen yogurt places have inconsistent quality products. At most places, sometimes the yogurt is icy or drippy. That is not the case at Forty Carrots. Every visit, I've had the most smooth and cold frozen yogurt. Their machines and yogurt formula is perfect. The small frozen yogurt is HUGE and can feed a small family. That said, sometimes I feel like every Brady Bunch family member just ran me over. On those days, a small Forty Carrots plain and chocolate frozen yogurt is the best reward. I love Forty Carrots. I can probably talk about how great they are for over 5-minutes. Let me know when to start.

Fun fact: Bloomingdale's flagship store was my very first job when I moved to the city 2 years ago before I landed my entry-level advertising job. The few months of me working here I wanted to try the frozen yogurt as I saw several customers walking around with it. Since my sister was being pampered at a salon a few doors down, I decided to take my nephew here for a little treat. I was first taken aback by the sign that said $8.00/person minimum if sitting in the dining area, but one of the workers assured me that it's only before 3:00p so we were good to just get the frozen yogurt. We ended up getting the regular size. We ordered half coffee, and I forgot the name of the other flavor but I believe it was just 'regular.' No, that does not mean vanilla. The server was very honest about the tast- said it was 'tart' but good. It was a little too tart for my liking and resembled sour cream (bleh!), my nephew ate it. The coffee flavored froyo was delicious!! A ton of ice cream and our bill came to about $5.12 so for the portion size, the quality is excellent! If you happen to be waltzing in the famous flagship and want to kill some time or have a treat as you shop around the 9 floors (which can be exhausting!) I definitely recommend this place. Although known for their frozen yogurt, they do happen to serve food here as well and I took a picture of their daily specials so you could see price.

We ordered the salmon burger, lasagna, fruit with yogurt, carrot soup and chicken noodle soup. They have delicious yogurt flavors. Peanut butter, coffee, chocolate, and plain which is tart, were today's flavors. Yum, Yum. Add toppings and it's wonderful. The food and soups were very good.

Even with Pinkberry all over the city I had to make my way to Forty Carrots in Bloomingdales. I could never recall the floor but always found my way there once I saw domestics. I would always do the plain frozen yogurt flavor in the largest size and it would anchor my stomach until dinner perfectly fine. If only I could find the way to beat the line!

I didn’t deliberately come to Bloomingdales to go to Forty Carrots, but was hungry while browsing the store, so thought I might as well go here for a quick lunch. That quick lunch turned out to be pretty good! Especially for the price I payed for it. Yes, the restaurant is quite loud and it could have more atmosphere, but for a department store restaurant it’s ok. The salad and soup I had, tasted very good and especially the salad was quite big. I could have just eaten that and wouldn’t have needed the soup. All in all I think Forty Carrots is a good address for a quick lunch when at Bloomingdales anyway.

I have frequented Forty Carrots often, but this visit was plain disgusting. Our server was unfriendly and provided poor service. The presentation and amount of food was not up to pair, it was sloppy on the plate. Our plates of food was delivered and I had to find the manager to come to our table. There was a long black hair on it and the table was dirty. (I have blonde hair, it wasn't mine.) No apologies, just a defense that no one who works in his restaurant has long black hair. Regardless-the table was not cleaned and unsanitary, he took the hair off and that was it. Yuck. Don't recommend going there and taking a chance on getting sick. The restaurant is currently waiting for their city grading (posted on wall).

This restaurant is a NY staple. The frozen yogurt is the big draw. Always check the specials that come with free yogurt for added value. The food is not spectacular -- but it does the trick and fills the belly. The carrot soup, fresh juice, and yogurt is my go to for lunch when I can't get to my favorite places. Now here's the drawback -- the service -- or lack thereof! The wait staff are ALL impatient and RUDE-- especially Mohsine! You have to check your silverware. It is not uncommon to get a piece with dried on food or even lipstick stains (YIKES)! If you sit at the lunch counter, You're not going to get service at all -- especially if it's lunch hour. Forty Carrots is great if you're already in the store and don't feel like going out -- especially if the weather is bad. If you have a choice, explore the tons of restaurants in the area.

Ordered lentil soup, healthy tuna sandwich and salad with chicken. Soup was fine. unfortunately while the tuna and salad looked tasty they were both disappointments. The olive bread the tuna is served on was stale, quite apparent the moment you held it and one bite more than confirmed it was far from fresh. My daughter took one bite of her salad and said the chicken was bad. Will not return. Service was good.

I was staying at a hotel a few blocks from Bloomingdales and checked with the concierge looking for a nice, healthy lunch with vegetarian options. After he recommended his favorite burger place, I made a beeline for Forty Carrots, an long-time favorite. I opted for a "bunch lunch" which hit the spot. The home-made carrot soup was fantastic as was the mayo-free tuna sandwich which I had on multi-grain bread. I topped it off with frozen yogurt which was included---half chocolate/half peanut butter and superb. Looking forward to my next visit!

We were told this was a great place to go - and we are so glad we did. The yoghurt was amazing, but very very big and we had the small portion. Service was very good. Will be back

I enjoyed quite a nice late lunch here, the food was tasty and the portions are healthy. I didn't experience any problems with the service, the waitress was quite friendly. The frozen yoghurt is tasty and the portion sizes are large. Would probably visit again.

When I'm on the Upper East Side of NYC and by Bloomingdales, I love to go to Forty Carrots, a restaurant inside the store for a tasty lunch. My favorite thing on their menu is the "Grilled Portobello & Goat Cheese Melt" (Jumbo Portobello mushroom cap filled with roasted vegetables and goat cheese, served open-faced on grilled Ciabatta, with baby arugula and a balsamic glaze. OMG, it's so delicious!!! They are not cheap, but for good quality food I can understand the prices charged. My friend had the half chicken salad sandwich and chicken noodle soup which she said was delicious. We shared a plain frozen which is cooling and delicious!

Best frozen yogurt in the city. Also, great lunches, salads, sandwiches, the best chicken soup ever. Sit at the counter if you don't want to wait for a table.

I’d been coming to Forty Carrots for over 30 years for one simple reason - their signature plain frozen yogurt, I get it with honey. I was crestfallen a couple of weeks ago when we visited here at the sit-down part of the place and the yogurt wasn’t good at all! And the coffee was terrible. This time we decided that we shouldn’t write it off after so many decades just because one time it was horrible. So we just went to get a big plain frozen yogurt with honey (to share) from the take-out counter and I am so happy and relieved to report that it is back to being the stuff of dreams! It’s back, baby. This place has been making frozen yogurt when it started being trendy, they kept on making it when it wasn’t trendy, and they kept on making it when it was trendy once more. Interesting for a department store that in some ways relies on trends for the rest of the store, the frozen yogurt remains a constant (except for that one time a few weeks ago). The plain yogurt isn’t too sweet or too tangy and it’s smooth and refreshing. It’s very cold but not so cold that you cannot taste it. Honey both complements it and also provides contrast at the same time — while honey is sweet and a bit sticky, I also learned from watching Samin Nosrat’s “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” that it is acidic, so that must be why it’s such a good “condiment” for the yogurt. Thankfully, this wonderful iconic treat from Bloomingdale’s is back to being what it should be, and you should go get some.

Still absolutely the first thing i do when arriving at new york. The best Froyo you can get with huge selection of toppings and a lot of changes in the flavor.

A must when in New York City! I love the fresh toppings and the Froyo it self. It was always great and i‘ll be comming back for sure!

Ate there twice for late lunch. It's like an upscale lunchroom setting. Love the trio platter, and it comes with a pretzel roll. Frozen yogurt used to be included, now its extra. Everything is delicious. I gave it four stars as the service is very slow. It's not a place where you can get in and out quickly. It's a place to lunch.

A delicious lunch experience with yogurt to top it off! A little pricey but worth the cost. My daughter had the best mac and cheese EVER! Great place inside Bloomingdales :)

So, after a day of scintillating shopping my wife and i felt peckish and thus headed for the seventh floor to forty carrots. Being part of Bloomingdales the place was filled with exhausted women in need of a recharge. Of course most women need to recharge their bellies but they never feel the need to recharge their mouths and as soon as the table next to us discovered we were tourists they felt compelled to offer advise regarding the best attractions new york has to offer. The banter continued and gradually involved the surrounding tables and then the topics ebbed from politics to the weather and soon we were exchanging emails and adding each other to facebook and then more people joined in and then the waitress offered her cents worth of info and...... try their yogurt.

I am a tourist and every year when I visit Ny I have one lunch at Forty Carrots. This time I was with to friends. The man who came for order had no patience at all (even a smile would be appreciated...) we order a smoothie instead of a real yogurt and when we realized it, they told us: ‘this you have ordered, this we serve’ without asking us if we wanted something else.... we would have paid everything, it was our fault but I must say that I have never had such a rude service! I left the gratuity anyway as I know that in us you have to, but I’m still very very disappointed. Never again!

Today I brought my kids for lunch along with some Black Friday shopping. I remember sitting at the lunch counter with my own mom and grandma when I was a kid! Today did not disappoint! Each of us loved our lunch—very generous portions, fresh and tasty salads and pastas. And of course, we ended with the famous frozen yogurt! I am so happy to introduce the next generation to Forty Carrots.

We come here just about every day for the best frozen yogurt in NYC. But I also sometimes eat from their lunch menu. The best homemade chicken soup ever. The freshest tasting tuna salad sandwich. And just about every food is tops! Service is always nice but can be slow at busy times.

Sometimes, the greatest joy of shopping is the food stop you make in the middle, and this is proven by Bloomingdales’ “Forty Carrots.” It is the best big store eatery—quality food for your money—than any other store. You get a good, quick, nourishing lunch or breakfast for less than 20 bucks per person. AND THEY THROW IN THE BEST FROZEN YOGURT IN NEW YORK. If you get there before noon, they will make you an omelet to your specifications, and their salads and pastas are great, while THEIR SPECIAL JUICES AND SMOOTHIES ALONE ARE WORTH COMING TO BLOOMINGDALES. Forget about just the freshly squeezed orange or carrot: they have celery and ginger and incredible other combinations to charge your anti-oxidants or raise your energy. They have flavors of yogurt that will astound you, and they are all good. We love their salad trio--though I ask for three scoops of their excellent tuna, and we also love their goat cheese and beet salad. Among other options. Twice in one week, we had lunch and --two days later—breakfast. Food was great. Service was quick. Price was low. So, whether you are shopping at Macy's or Saks or Bergdorf's, come to Bloomies to eat.

The food is excellent: generous portions, healthful alternatives, reasonable prices. The atmosphere is a bit rushed at lunchtime, given that this is in bustling Bloomingdales. But it's worth the considerable wait at midday. Once you are seated you can relax and enjoy.

In my trip to NYC, I stopped at Forty Carrots in Bloomingdale's. I was in the mood for their soup and yogurt. After being seated with my son, I was asking to be served. I kept raising my hand to get their attention. After 2 minutes or so, I walked to the cashier to say I would like to order. Instead, I got turned away and asked to return to my table that a server would come. Then one of their waiters was clearing the table next to mine, and I requested to place my order. I was told that a server would come and he ignored me. Another 2-3 minutes have gone by with my hands raised for attention. Every one of the waiters turned a blind eye. I was so cheesed off that I walk out of the establishment without being served. I felt that because we were Asians, that everyone did even bothered to serve us. I was really fuming after that.

On 7th floor there is a restaurant and yogurt shop. Were given a compensation invitation by a manager as we had to wait more than 20 minutes machine at the cashier broke and took some time to reboot. This was the first time we ever tried frozen yogurt. We tried two flavors - banana and plain. We thought the banana flavored yogurt was the best one. The cups were really over filled and we could not take it all. Probably nothing wrong but we prefer ice cream.

I was meeting a friend in Bloomingdale's and we were planning to eat at David Burke's which closed. And so we ate here. We didn't expect much and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the soup (large portion, adequate) and my friend had a salad with chicken. Nothing outstanding = just a regular store cafe if you want to shore up energies while shopping. But their frozen yogurt is a different story. We saw our neighbors eating humongous (no exaggeration, seriously humongous) portions, we were tempted and ordered modest scoops. Great tasting fro-yo at modest prices. But seriously, they were all skinny/slender women and probably have amazing metabolism! Overall, I wouldn't mind going back if I were there to meet someone or at the store, but not a place that I so desperately want to go back.

Service was abysmal. The place was extremely noisy full of cackling women shouting at each other. Food was okay.

On a recent trip to NYC my daughter and I decided to have dinner at Forty Carrots inside of Bloomingdales. Very convenient while you are shopping, but not worth the high prices for what you get on the menu. It was very very busy and the service was sub par. The waitress had an attitude after we had been seated and left sitting in her section for 20 minutes before she came to our table. I would never eat here again.

Is a very healthy choice for lunch, it is situated in bloomingdales and is very popular among customers. They mainly specialize in their frozen yogurt (which is reasonably priced) and the customer service is not too bad considering its so busy. Worth a visit!

We were given free tokens for frozen yogurt when we entered Bloomingdales. Forty carrots was up on the 7th floor. They were yummy and big. Normal price was $5.50 with a topping.

I've learned that great department stores have great restaurants and this one did not disappoint. The omelets and choices were as good as any I have had. One of my companions had a salad with feta cheese and stuffed grape leaves and I was jealous while eating my delicious omelet with feta, avocado and tomatoes. The frozen yogurt was also wonderful. Looking around, it seemed that people came to the restaurant for large portions of frozen yogurt, even on a very cold January day. My only complaint was the noise from the blender making the popular smoothies.

The restaurant is inside Bloomingdale's and is a good choice for those who want a fast meal. Our favorite option was fish tacos. For dessert don't skip the frozen yogurt, with caramel and chocolate, it's just delicious!

We were made to wait 45mins because we had a baby and had to be seated at a specific table. They got our order wrong twice and when the sandwich actually arrived the bread was dry. I recommend you give it a miss.

Lovely food but not the place to go if you want a quiet lunch/coffee & a chat. I don't have an issue with children but on our visit there were just too many, not sure why as it was a lunchtime in the middle of a school week.

Forty carrots is located in Bloomingdale’s on the East side. Top floor. They have a sandwich bar and salads. And ice cream and yogurts. Good old fashioned service. Excellent egg salad sandwich.

Still the best Froyo on earth. Usually the first thing i do when back in NYC. I already miss that great dessert way better that everything i‘ve ever got in my country. Yammy

Food is amazing here so a great place to stop for lunch. I also had THE most delicious yoghurt smoothie, coffee flavour! Crab & avocado salad was lovely. It is expensive though

This restaurant is on the top floor of Bloomingdale’s. It is large and has a decent menu, mostly salads and sandwiches. We ordered fish tacos and a chicken caesar salad together with soft drinks. The portions were large, the food good and the service very good. Thanks to Betty! Prices are fair enough.

The food is fresh and not doused in mayo or sauces. Enough choices in salads, soup, sandwiches and entrees. Had a chicken salad sandwich on cranberry bread - with carrot salad - really good. Son had turkey Eastsider - safe choice and thick cut turkey in sandwich.

This is a modern dine-in, counter and take-out restaurant inside the flagship 59th Street Bloomingdale's department store. They have food like sandwiches and salads but I do not care. To me, the only reason to come here is there frozen yogurt and it's a SUPER GOOD REASON. The menu says "Over 40 years ago, Forty Carrots introduced frozen yogurt to New York City" and I believe them. But being first doesn't necessarily mean you're the best except when it does, as it does here! They have nonfat flavors but I wouldn't know about those because I always get their signature lowfat plain -- I've been ordering it for probably over 30 years. It's got a not-too-soft but not-too-stiff texture, has a touch of sweetness and a pleasant tang. The regular size is huge and the large size is pleasantly ridiculous. There are lots of toppings you can add (for a small charge) and I almost always get the granola and the honey since the crunchiness of the granola and the intense sugar of the honey are great opposites for the tart, cold, smooth plain frozen yogurt. I'd give this place five stars except that the service can be a bit off and the iced coffee I've ordered recently isn't that great. Even with the spotty service and the iced coffee I have to remember not to order again, I still like sitting in the dining room to savor the best frozen yogurt anywhere, ever. Fyi, Forty Carrots opens with the store, the dining room closes an hour before the store does, and the take-out counter closes 1/2 hour before the store closes.
wonderful yogurt
One of my favorite places in New York. On every visit I go three or four times and will keep doing so. I love the yogurt, the toppings and the atmosphere. It is on the 7th floor of Bloomingdale's department store, which is also fun to visit
