Nice little greek restaurant. We had there breakfast en dinner. The food was simple but really good and tastfull! I didnt think the service was slow! Nice people working there! Definitly would go back there on a next visit of Manhattan

Brunch had limited menu, but surprisingly everything we ordered are just outstanding. Greek Burger has that yogurt spread with a smokey burger. Came with a side of fries that is crispy and yummy, not soggy at all. Cheese and Spinach Pie is sumptuous with that side of lemony yogurt...although some of the filo crust were a bit tough. Tossed salad compliments the pie with fresh arugula and this Greek inspired dressing of olive oil with a tinge of lemon. French Toast is done right with ripe bananas and nice piece of bread. Coffee is awesome, not at all bitter or tart...just plain good coffee.

This is a handy place to stop for a meal before or after the theater. The atmosphere is pleasant, but not the sort of place where you would want to go for a special dinner. It is really best for a high quality economical meal if you are in the area for another purpose. They do not seem to have a beer and wine license which is a shame since a glass of wine would be great with their food. The food is pretty authentic Greek and I would recommend trying anything on their menu. Also leave room for dessert and their delicious coffee. My only complaint was the bathrooms. We arrived at the beginning of dinner service (when the bathrooms should have been at their best), and told the wait staff that the bathrooms were missing toilet paper and towels. By the time we left about 1 1/2 hours later, the bathrooms were in the same condition.

This is one of the best new restaurants in Time square, i work around the corner and i am there almost every day. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their Latte coffee with omelet for breakfast keeps my energy going, for lunch they have those bowls, you can make your own and i love the lamb and beef choices. Last week we went for dinner and before a show and sat by the window the waiter brought us the menus and we order the pre theater menu, 3 course with appetizer main course and dessert for 25 dollars ! simply the best ! Good Job please try this place out !!!

I stayed overnight at a hotel across the street and went there for a quick dinner. Really nice service and nice high ceiling. Very clean restaurant that also sells various Greek snacks and groceries etc. I had the traditional rousted season veggies in sauce and spicy feta. Every thing was great. I really enjoyed the spicy feta. Perhaps I will visit them again on another trip in the future.

My friend and I came here to drink a coffee and the woman who served us was very rude. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with wipped cream (which was one the menu) and then she told here right away: “we don’t have wipped cream.” After she came back to tell us that they ran out of chocolate milk. After a while the woman asked us “do you want the check or another drink” even though we were still drinking our first coffee. Out of pressure we ordered another coffee. 5 minutes after giving our 2nd coffee she came with the check. On the check was a mistake because she had put a hot chocolate (which was more expensive) when we pointed this out to her she litteraly said: “well it’s basically the same...” so why should we pay extra for something we didn’t recieve? We didn’t sign the check right away so she came back pressuring us to sign it. After we signed and we had in mind to give her a tip in cash (we payed with card) she came to tell us that we HAD to leave a tip. Which of course we were gonna do but after her attitude it kind of left a bad taste. Arent tips for when you enjoy someone’s service and want to show your gratitude? We will not be returning to this establishment simply because of this womans’ attitude and service.

I found this restaurant on the car ride to my hotel. From the outside it looked really warm and inviting, so we decided to check it out. As soon as we checked in, we walked over for a late lunch. While the service was kind of slow, the food was really good! My dad got one of their traditional pies, which he really enjoyed, and I got the Kagianas, which is like greek scrambled eggs with tomatoes. It was so delicious! I wish we had room to buy something from the bakery because everything looked so good. I would recommend coming here if you are staying in midtown.

Amazing!! Happened upon this as it was just around corner from our hotel... been back 3 times! First for a quick bite... the warm large bean dish... delicious ! Late night for pastries and this a.m. for breakfast. Wonderful waitress Kelli took care of us... Greek scrambles egg bowl, fresh oj, avocado toast and rich, dark coffee...oh! Hand filled organic tea bags to order:) love it! Will go one more time on way out tomorrow !!!

This place had the best Fredo Espresso coffee in New York. It also had the best chees pie and best spanokopita pie. The service was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

A good place for a quick bite before a show . Downstairs is cafeteria style and upstairs is the restaurant

Ate here one night during the festive period, meal was absolutely fantastic, the best Greek food we’ve ever tasted, and having travelled over many parts of Greece that’s saying something, food was plentiful, tasty and great value. Service was very good. Please do try it, it’s great!

Fournos Theofilos hardly rolls off most tongues but the restaurant provides different and excellent food and service. Care has been taken with the decor as with everything else. Give this place a chance.

Service was awesome!! It really was!! And the food was incredible. We had a New Years Eve menu that included soup, appetizer (fava), main (filet mignon), and dessert for $35 p/p. It was amazing!! Small, cozy place with a Greek feeling all over it. Highly Recommended

Excellent, fresh Greek fare in a central location in midtown—highly recommended. The $27 pre-theater prix-fixe dinner is a fantastic deal. Good all-around service; charming, artistic decor.

The place is nice, food is good, the pastries and the coffee are amazing. Unfortunately i cannot praise the service mor the cleanliness. I went several times, have not met a friendly staff member and the restrooms are always in very poor state

We are of Greek heritage, at least one half of us are. So on Mother’s Day I was delighted to find Fournos was open for breakfast. First impression was pretty good.Relatively new , clean , typically displayed pastry’s that you’d expect. We sat up stairs, as there were only a total of 5-7 tables in the restaurant and we figured the service would not be complicated. To support previous reviews the service was painstakingly slow. Almost snail 🐌 type. Even a 30 minute wait for a cup of drip coffee. The traditional Greek omelette took as long or longer and my simple yogurt with walnuts was equally slow. In looking around the the restaurant it was obvious the service was excruciatingly slow. 2 of the other 4 tables had the couples individual meals come out 10 apart. Sadly I’ll not return as this town is full of fine Greek restaurants. The food was good. Not great , but the service is horrendous. It appears they’ve not adequately trained the staff or simply don’t care.

We had a quick lunch here shortly after the restaurant opened and were amazed at the quality of the spanakopita and tiropita! My Greek husband saw this as equal to his YiaYia’s homemade spanakopita! The portions were large, fresh and absolutely delicious! Besides this lighter fare available at the front counter, the restaurant also offered larger hot meals from another counter.

Still finding its' way beyond being a Greek bakery. Has promise but needs broader menu. There are worse options in area.

Stopped here with my sisters on a rainy Sunday morning. We were pleasantly and politely greeted and given the option to buy something at the “bar” or take table service upstairs. We opted for table service. I had kagianas for the first time and it was beyond amazingly delicious. If we weren’t going to a show I’d order it again. Sister had lox and cream cheese with hint of lemon on a croissant and other sister had egg sandwich which She said was the best she ever had. This is a new favorite and can’t wait to come back to try the moussaka. Our judgement of “would you come back” is definitely and maybe even after the show!

My friend and I were on our way to the theatre and just decided to stop in for a quick bite. The best Greek yogurt I have ever had! They had a toppings bar where you could add fruit, granola, and honey. It was filing and not too expensive, a great snack before a matinee.

Beautiful place. Great staff. If you closed your eyes you'd swear you were in Greece. The food was terrific. Definitely a place to put on your list for stop by's

Staying in an hotel on the 45th st we casually found this place. After the first experience we came back 3 more times with family or friends.the restaurant offers selected authentic Greek plates like moussaka, lamb or Pastitsio. The place is very clean, waiters are very gentle and the overall price very fare according to the quality and quantity of food. Next time in NYC I will come back

I work in Midtown New York - - - past weeks passing knowing that Fournos Theophilos was coming to town - this morning saw the Grand Opening - stopped in and knew I was coming back for my lunch - wanted mousakas, but they ran out, so I got the next best thing, pastitsio with salad - delicious! Don't need to be having dessert, but I did - having it as I write this with a cup of coffee - YUM! Happy that we have a good Greek restaurant so close to work!

The hamburger was one of the best ! The Greek salad very refreshing ! The lemon and walnut pies delicious !!! Service was great : Demitiris ! Try this place. You’ll be glad you did 😊

We recently visited New York City and were staying at a hotel near Fournos. Of course there are many great restaurants near there, but my family had visited Greece and really enjoyed the food. We decided to have lunch there. We had a gyro which they call "Yeero" in the form of a salad topped with homemade potato chips and freshly made pita wedges. We opted for the tzatziki sauce because that is traditional on a gyro. It came in a bowl and we ate it mostly with a fork. It was so delicious and the taste was very authentic. We went back later for some baklava, which was heavenly. I wish we could have tasted all the baked items that they had in their case!
Very warm place, best food we had in NY, it was very surprising to find this place where food is better than home
Very warm place and people! Couldn’t believe that we found this place in a such a busy street. Everything we had was delicious so we had another meal packed away for the next day! Would love to try it again if we visit NY again.
