They are a lovely, romantic Mexican-Peruvian restaurant in the midtown area. They are perfect for a date night but very expensive, and that's excluding drinks!!! We ordered and can recommend their ceviche, duck and birria tacos. Make sure yo come here hungry and prepared to spend!

Great Food and Service

The food was delicious. We started with the guacamole and salsa. The chips are fresh and the salsa has a little kick. I had the best mojito I have ever had...and I've had many in Miami. My husband had the brisket tacos and I had the Peruvian steak fried rice. They both were delicious. Also, the service was impeccable! Everyone was super friendly.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant! We were in NYC for a sisters’ trip to celebrate a birthday. We found this online and reviews were great. Food is excellent, atmosphere wonderful, and the staff is the best!!!!! Carl set the stage for a wonderful night and ask for Claudio as your server. He made our night. They made our birthday girl celebration so special. I promise you it will be a fun and delicious evening and meal - and they will make a special occasion memorable.

Had the BEST dinner here. I went with my mom and 6 yo daughter. Service was impeccable. I felt like family. They were attentive and accommodating to my daughter. Food was outstanding--particularly the Esquire's and Birria tacos. Dar I say I think they were the best tacos I have ever had. Highly recommend and don't be shy o take young kids there.

Upscale Midtown Mexican

This is off the beaten path nestled between 2nd & 3rd on 52nd. Food, service, cocktails were very upscale! Our waiter provided us with terrific recommendations from the menu! My family and I will definitely go again.

Fabulous Food and Fun at Frida Midtown.

A google search for Mexican food on the Eastside in the 50’s brought us to Frida Midtown. The exterior was inviting and the welcome extended to the inside with a very a gregarious greeting from the host. The food, the service and the entertainment were all spectacular.

Nice quiet atmosphere, good food and service

We went to this restaurant last year and I forgot to write a review. We come to NYC every year for Christmas week. Whenever we go out to eat we try to find a place that has good food, and service but also important to us is to have a quiet atmosphere where my wife and I can have a conversation without loud voices from other tables, loud background noise, children yelling, etc. Service was great along with the food and atmosphere. All of the above are the reason we're going back again this year, Christmas week, 2023. With that combination, price doesn't matter.

A must in NYC

Excellent food, we chose fajitas and the dulce de lecche as dessert. The drinks are also excellent. Excellent service and all the staff are uniquely kind. To return!!!!!! The chef was also very kind and helpful!!! Well done 👏

Excellent restaurant

The atmosphere was enchanted: great design and comfortable seating. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. She explained everything and since she was new she got answers every time she wasn't sure about the dishes. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared, so we got to experience many flavors, all were very tasty and unique. the Churos at the end were both tasty and very well presented. We will return!

Dishonest Service

Went based on reviews and the food was fantastic... a bit on the pricey side but worth it. That is until I paid the bill. I was surprised when they brought back change without the receipt (but didn't think anything at the time). When I got home, I noticed they short changed me by $50. Didn't expect to have to check my change... very disappointed!

Mexican and a bit of Peruvian with an ambiance

By Reslimpan |

I was in the mood for some Mexican food before heading out to Asia. Came across this place and it sounded worth visiting. The restaurant is very nice with a great ambiance. The staff are very nice and professional. The food was good but slightly overpriced, at least for some of the dishes. Nevertheless, left with a full stomach and happy.

Excellent experience dining at Frida. All the dishes were excellent. Service was polite and on point. The tacos were just right. Highly recommend the baja and duck tacos. Cocktails were solid.

Frida is a FIND!

Frida is a FIND This is yet another neighborhood restaurant that we have walked by countless times, and finally tried. We are so happy we did! The staff, from Michael (the ultra attentive, warm and superbly accommodating host/manager) to the waitstaff, to the bus staff are exceptional and strive to make your evening terrific. They utterly succeeded. The pleasant ambiance, truly wonderful staff and creative cocktails set the mood for a lovely night. The cuisine is Peruvian/Mexican with some American touches. We opted to share a delicious Caesar salad (more than enough for two). It was fresh and had a tasty dressing. We then both ordered the filet mignon, which, while untraditional, was quite tasty and prepared in a Peruvian stew style with potatoes, onions and vegetables in a pleasing sauce. The cocktails were beautifully artistic and excellent. The flan was also delicious. We enjoyed everything about Frida and cannot rave enough about the incredibly warm, utterly attentive, wholly accommodating and perfectly delightful staff. Frida is a FIND!
