Enjoyable

By Irma G |

This restaurant doesn’t have a great deal of ambience, but the food is really delicious and the service is good. The prices are reasonable too. I had a very tender cutlet of chicken with arugula and my husband had basil, salmon and spaghetti. My daughter had a generous portion of lobster fra Diavolo and my son in law had a very tasty baked Ziti. They brought us a complimentary pastry for dessert

Good lunch

Came here on the recommendation of friends and enjoyed it. They have an eclectic menu; the pasta wasn’t quite al dente but the Carbonara sauce made up for it - real guanciale. The wine list had good diversity and the service was impeccable. Prices are fantastic for UWS too.

OK food but less so on the service

By CVTravelers |

Our family who lives in NYC recommended this restaurant. My wife had the Rigatoni Bolognese and I had the Baked Ziti. We found the food to OK and a bit lacking flavor and seasoning. The service was very hit and miss - - for example they brought us a different beer than we ordered and our glass of wine came after we had finished 75% of our entree. We sat outside and the weather was nice. The inside restaurant was packed and I am sure this contributed to the service issues. Overall, we found the restaurant to be OK and I doubt we would return.

food mediocre

I made the mistake of ordering pasta (alla Norma) for lunch. It was barely edible and I left half of it.

The food and atmosphere are great.

We visited our daughter in New York City for Labor Day weekend. She made all our meal reservations for the weekend. On Saturday she asked if we would like Italian. I said sure. We walked down the street from her apartment to FUMO. It looked small and quaint and very busy. We gave them my name and was told it would be about 20 minutes. It was actually about 10. We sat down and as I said it was very busy. All tables were filled the smells were great and the atmosphere was great. It seemed like a great neighborhood restaurant. Looking over the menu was a great selection. I decided to get Shrimp Francese and to say it was delicious is an understatment. I shared a bite with my daughter and she agreed it was delicious. When we go back to visit her in the near future or anytime I will request we go to FUMO again.

Delicious and filling

This is a wonderful find on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The selections, although limited in the age of covid and containing a lot of the signature Italian dishes, are creatively done. The three of us ordered three different kinds of pasta: with pesto, with sausage, and with a kind of vodka sauce. They were all very good. The one criticism I would have is that there was a LOT of sauce, so much so that the pasta was swimming in it. The arugula salad was excellently presented. The restaurant has ample outdoor seating, which does not include sitting in the gutter, fortunately. The prices are very good, especially when considering where this restaurant is. This is a good find.

B-Day Family Dinner

Again, after some years we came to a family birthday celebration and we had a great experience. Food: Fried Calamary as appetizer. Chicken Milanese, Vegan Burger, Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne with Funghi, Shrimp Francese. Bottle of Prosecco. Tiramisu. Everyone loved their food. Service by Sergio excellent. We had a private area for our festivity.

Fumo for Wine

My family and I visited Fumo on the Upper West side of Manhattan on Saturday, September 9th and it was a great experience. I’ve been to the Harlem location which was amazing too. The Broadway location is smaller than the harlem spot but the service was great and the food was delicious. The waiter even sang happy birthday to my mother as we were there celebrating her. We would def recommend. I don’t have pictures of the food but we had penne a la vodka, Shrimp Francese and some Salmon. A couple of glasses of wine as well. Everything was excellent.

Great Happy Hour specials in UWS neighborhood spot

By Beth Moore |

I popped in for Friday happy happy hour. They offered a delicious spritzer beverage and several appetizers for $6 each. The fried mozzarella and meatballs were a hit! Friendly attentive staff. Happy to have this new spot join the neighborhood. I'll be back for dinner.

Fabulous lunch specials

Surprisingly delicious with a great atmosphere and wonderful service. We stopped in for their lunch special- any salad or pasta for $12. These are not bait and switch portions - they’re full size! I definitely recommend.

Go for lunch pasta deal.

Lunch pasta specials are a HREAT value and simply delicious. Carbonnara and spaghetti vongole were stellar dishes.
