Food excellent, service average

By Chica100 |

This is in a great spot if you are seeing shows in the area. The restaurant is well done and tables fairly well spaced etc. Menu and food was excellent, service was very average, which is the only reason it's not a five star! If you are going for a pre theatre dinner it's great, I wouldn't chose it for a special occasion.

A cool vibe

The food was decent and the vibes was vibing. It was a good night & enjoyed my time there. The Dj was a vibe but it was nothing but old folks there .

Absolutely great place for pre show meal. Food was fantastic. 2 at our table had rib eye steaks which were huge, way over stated weight. I had 2 excellent sushi rolls and others had variety of appetisers. Highly recommend.

Very good choice before the theater

By Ramón C |

Very good food, with very fast service, we went before going to the theater and we were treated very quickly, although we ate without hurry, the joke is that they do not take long to bring you food. We tried the edamames spicy, the hamachi sashimi that is delicious and then one roll each. The bar was on its happy hour and although we didn't go in, it looked excellent atmosphere

Fresh food.

Early dinner prior to a Broadway play. Everything was fresh and tasty. Convenient location to the theater. Split 2 apps a specialty roll and desert. All items were very good.

Excellent experience

Didn’t hear of this place but the menu looked good so decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. The first thing that strikes you is the lovely decor which is of course meant to invoke the Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto. The we get to the food and this is a typical sushi menu with some creative rolls and sushi and sashimi combinations. The food was presented in a beautiful way and was delicious. Service was prompt and courteous. This was definitely a great meal and a place I look forward to returning to.

BEST sushi in NYC

By Shawna W |

The most amazing experience ever! The BEST sushi we have had, and we know sushi! We ordered the chefs choice sashimi and it was so good we ordered another round. Our daughter, who does not like sushi fell in love with the salmon. The sake and dessert was fabulous as well. Great service and atmosphere. The manager, Barry, made it even better with the personalized recommendations his impeccable customer service!!!!!

Fushimi is a Deliciously Chic Go-To in the Heart of Times Square

By Arielle S |

We had an amazing evening at Fushimi, from the moment we entered the sleek space leaving the insanity of Times Square behind. We started with Japanese whisky from their curated list, and shared the Chef's selection Sushi and Sashimi, which was delicious til the last bite and was presented in a impressive (and smoking!) platter. I didnt have time to the house made dessert because we finished it so quickly. The server was super knowledgable about gluten free options, and very helpful.

Nice pre-theater Japanese experience

Fushimi opens up early for dinner - we sat down at 430 which was perfect before the 7 pm start at Gypsy. The dining room is huge and very sleek. We knew we were in for a treat when the edamame came with three different kinds of salt- where has wasabi salt been all my life? We tried an Out of Control roll and a bunch of sashimi, everything was top notch. Terrific service. We would definitely come back for more from the huge menu next time we are seeing a show near this part of the theater district.

Good food bad service

By Heather |

I had the vegetable gyoza, o-toro sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a lychee punch to drink. All of the food was delicious but the bartender was rude. She didn't ask if I wanted another drink, or ask how the food was, or if I wanted to order anything else, etc. Unclear what caused her to behave that way towards me, but as a result I don't think I'll be back.

Delicious meal. The music was too loud but worth putting up with for the good food. Try the Out of Control Roll, fantastic.

Relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, great value for money

We visited here for lunch and opted for the 4 course special menu. We enjoyed all courses. The Sushi/ sashimi main was amazing. Excellent value for money. Service was fantastic. This is a really relaxing gem away from the hubbub of the city. Would be excellent for an evening meal too.

Great food! Great service. Near theater district. Would come back!

Best Japanese Restaurant

We just arrived to NYC via train and were hungry and tired. Went to Fushimi because it was close to the hotel. Surprised to find out it was the best sushi and miso soup I’d ever had. I’m trying to go vegan or at least vegetarian. The avocado peanut roll was AMAZING!!! I don’t know what they did to those peanuts, but I’d go back for more. We had creme brûlée for dessert and it was the BEST I’ve ever had! Definitely the best part of the day was eating at Fushimi!!! OMG! I’d give it 10 stars!! I rarely praise but this was outstanding. Also the service, was seamless and easy…maybe 15 stars!!!!!

Fabulous 5 Stars!!!

Outstanding Sushi, Service & Birthday Surprise! This sushi restaurant in Manhattan was truly outstanding! The ambiance was stylish and inviting, perfect for a special evening. Our server, Bryan, went above and beyond—his recommendations were spot on, and every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We’re from California and love high-quality seafood, and this place absolutely delivered. We were celebrating my birthday, and they made it so memorable with a surprise dessert: the best red velvet ice cream I’ve ever had and a perfectly executed crème brûlée. I felt so appreciated and cared for throughout the evening. If you’re looking for exceptional sushi, top-notch service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit!

Excellent restaurant, pleasant atmosphere, unique menu and impeccable presentation of the dishes, not to mention the excellent service. We returned with our family two days in a row to try most of the dishes and we approved of them all! Exceptional ! I highly recommend

Best sushi ever.

The best sushi we ate in our life. The ideal temperature, the amazing flavors. The attention was very nice. They looked for a person who spoke Spanish. Since it was my birthday, they gave us a shot of a super delicious drink and they sang happy birthday to me at dessert time.

Great place!

Wanted a light dinner before going home and ordered 3 different small sushirolls; Negi, yellowtail & avocado. They were perfect as well as the environment, the reception, and the service of Brian.
