The setting outside the tavern is amazing, a trail of restaurants and pubs in a peaceful urban area. The tavern is across the street from a park and it's terrace is strategically placed on that side, The inside of the tavern is beautifully decorated and you can tell, the pride of the owner. Intricate details make it quaint and inviting. There are regulars there and they are well treated, as are first timers. What can I say about the staff there, the waiters and bartenders are professional, classy, funny, charming and most of all always smiling and helpful. The owner is present and totally accessible, he helps out in every way possible. Although I did not have any food there, observing others enjoy their deliciously presented appetisers spoke clearly to me that they were totally enjoying it. A must in Greenwich Village !!!

Great place for a few drinks. Friendly staff and very attentive. Drinks are moderately priced. Busy place but staff keeps things moving in an efficient matter.

For a civilised drink in the normally madness of Bleecker Street, without TVs blaring sport or DJ's wrecking your head, this cannot be beaten. The staff are terrific and after a few visits it feels like your own 'Cheers', Great selection of beers and topshelf liquor. For the summer it is one of the few bars in the locality that has a nice sidewalk seating area wher you can people watch the world go by.

We stumbled on this bar by pure chance, looking for somewhere to get in from the cold on our last night in NYC. Firstly we were greeted by John the owner who was a great host throughout. We had a hot toddys which were tasty and the girls had cocktails which they loved. There is a great selection of beers, we tried the Guinness which we would normally do in NYC but there tasted just like at home. There is also a great selection of whiskey which we were lucky enough to sample. The bar is beautiful, warm and you could easily spend a few hours in there. Toilets were immaculate which is not always the case in NY bars. We didn't get to try the food as we had just had dinner elsewhere but any dishes we did see been served looked great. We definitely recommend this place and we will return on our next trip to NYC. Thanks for a great night John

After walking for hours we needed a sit down and beer, this place fitted the bill nicely. Great selection of beer, really attentive staff and food was excellent, if your in the area it's well worth a visit.

For a bar in the area, it was much nicer than I expected. The atmosphere of the bar was great. It was a little pricey, but overall bar service was good and the drinks were on par.

GMT Tavern is located close to NYU and you instantly know you're in a classy enviroment the minute you walk through the door. It's very tastefully decorated and even though it's technically an English pub, the Irish bar-tenders were funny, knowledgable and efficient (no bias, I swear!). The food was very tasty. We had calamari, sliders and fries. This place is definitely a cut above and this is reflected in the prices. It's not the cheapest bar in town but unlike other bars in NYC, you can see where your money goes. A solid establishment and well worth a visit if you're in the area.

English pub style restaurant with outdoor seating. Service was good. I had the fish tacos and they were done well. Almost seemed like a neighborhood bar, very relaxed atmosphere.

Had a meal and drink here and it was ok and I mean ok. What I found strange was that when the bill arrived of the 3 tipping suggestions of 18, 20 and 22% the latter had already been marked manually in ink by the staff as selected. Curious eh?

We popped in here late one night, sat at the bar and had a fantastic martini - one of the best I've had. Service was great and the setting was fine. We were there after 11pm and it was quiet. Imagine it is busier and louder the early evening.

Great restaurant with pavement seating and good food at good value. Close to Washington Square. Greenwich Mean Time.

The Greenwich Meantime Tavern (GMT) is a good place to stop for afternoon drinks and, if interested, a peek at the large screen usually showing sports events. Drinks are decent size and service cheerful and efficient, if a little pushy. The food is British Pub fare, and I am not a fan. But while there, take a look at the ceiling: it's a rare example of old times tin artwork, once abundant in downtown.

Wonderful ambience & great beer. British vibe with cozy nooks for guests. Good service and warm atmosphere. Worth stopping in for a pint!

My wife and I went to GMT to meet a friend who lives locally in Brooklyn. We got there early and was shown straight to our seat and was given menus. I went for Blackthorn cider (couldnt find draught cider anywhere in NYC up until now) and my wife had a G&T. Drinks came very quickly and we then decided to order some food. We went for the 3 burger slider. One word......AMAZING. The food was amazing. Staff brilliant and Johnno (owner) was a really sound chap and looked after us.

Got in there at a busy period so the atmosphere was amazing and although the staff were hard pressed they never stopped smiling. I will definitely be returning as i thought it was great value for money..... PS id recommend the burgers!

Having now been here a few times whilst attending a conference at the nearby Skirball Centre, I would definitely highly recommend... Staff are very helpful and friendly, there's a long list of draught US and European beers and the menu is simple, very tasty and thankfully perfectly proportioned servings (as a frequent European visitor to the US I soon get used to wasting enormous amounts of food due to enormous servings) but here the amounts are perfect! Definitely very strongly recommended

This Bar is in the heart of West Village. This place has an amazing beer selection. 20 plus beers on Tap. My favorite is Carlsberg hailing from the iconic Denmark. Have a basket of Fries while you drink! I recommend this place, its a must.

It was a sunny day and we sat outside for brunch. The service was good as was the food and drink, it all made for a very pleasant relaxing meal.

GMT Tavern is a very attractive bar with great food, great service, and a really friendly environment. Whether you sit outside which is great for people watching, or sit inside at the large gracious bar or a table, the staff will make you feel comfortable immediately. They have a large variety of tap beers, and a full range of every kind of drink - including their own infused vodkas or in the winter their hot toddy's. The owner, John Keogh is very friendly and aims to please. Everything on the menu is delicious. Their burger's, fish and chips, salads and appetizers are great whether you eat at a table or the bar. Don't miss the weekend Brunch! They do interesting twists on standard brunch favorites: Eggs Benedict can also be ordered as Lobster or Crab Benedict - Delicious! All at very reasonable prices. You will have a fabulous time and like so many others I'm sure you will go back!

2 aussies, strolled up to gmt tavern from our apartment, had some nice tacos recommend the fish tacos, the wine was nice too.

Walking along Bleecker Street from Broadway just about to cross La Guardia Place I saw all these European flags. My first thought was 'this must be a tourist trap for European tourists'. It was not, it is an Irish pub where you during The European Football Championships will get your share of sports as well as some good pints of either lager, ale or stout and some good food. During the game you find the Irish at the bar sharing a good crac (for those who are not familiar with the Irish it's a nice chat the Irish way, nothing else). I visited the pub twice during my stay in New York. The first time, along with my youngest daughter, having a great crab cake along with a nice Fuller's London Pride. The crab cake was indeed delicious, also recommended by the waitress Alexandra. She also succeeded in creating 'Alexandra's Extra Strong Cappucino', which is recommended. If her boss, he is Irish, reads this he should not get angry but proud as that was one of the best cappucinos I have had, actually I had two of them. My daughter had a Caesar's Salad. The second time I was there along with my two daughters watching the football match between Spain and Italy. A special hamburger with a Stilton cheese was indeed special, a bit too much Stilton for my taste. The general impression of the pub/restaurant is good. Efficient service, nice staff, clean and fresh. I would not hesitate to return once more to GMT Tavern. My rating is a 4, the Stilton puts it slightly down.

Nice twists on traditional food in a wonderful atmosphere. Would have loved to have tried more things on the menu!

This was the first place a friend and I visited the day we got to New York. The tavern had fantastic decor and a great atmosphere. I ordered a New York Strip steak and it was one of the best I've had and the dessert was really good too. The staff were welcoming and really took care of us. I would definitely recommend this tavern and well certainly be going back when I am next in New York.

After having great diner in nice place it turned out ( 1 month later ) that our creditcard was skimmed. First contact with owner John was hopefull and promissing but now, after 4 reminders still no acceptable solution. Is this really the way you treat your clients ?????

My Partner and I having the previous week came across the GMT and decided to have a drink and, noticing that the GMT advertise Sunday Roast with all the trimmings Including Yorkshire Pudding One of the young Staff, An Irish Girl confirmed that its the real deal.. just like the English.. Now being a Englishmen in New York we decided to give it a go the following Sunday. which living in Brooklyn and getting to Greenwich Village is no easy matter on a Sunday.. However, We should not have bothered.. The GMT version of a Roast is far from the real McCoy Only in that it was edible.. The Roast Beef was stringy.. The Roast Potatoes were in fact Sortied sliced potatoes. Potatoes, The vegetables were bland and the Yorkshire Pudding was more like a Cake.. This Restaurant is a nice place to have a drink with road side seats but save your money certainly as far as the roast beef goes.. we cant speak for other dishes but the absents of other diners may speak for itself. The staff is appears to be mainly ex pats some of Irish descent and on the day we were there an English Girl.. while polite the staff is far from attentive, even though the place was far from busy.

This is a great place. The food is always excellent, never had a bad meal and the staff is great. If you want a quiet drink or a good conversation this is one the friendliest places in NYC. I’ve been going here for years and always have good food, drink, conversation or a combination of all three. Also, the bar options for beer, wine or whiskey are one of the best I’ve seen around as are the mixed drinks. Both bar and wait staff will ALWAYS make an accommodation for any order food or drink.

We accidentally stumbled along this place whilst walking through Greenwich village. It was a lovely autumnal day so a lot of people were sat outside to eat. We waited around ten minutes for a table and were served quite quickly. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband had fish and chips. Both were delicious and reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend this place!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing night at GMT tavern. We were welcomed by amazing and caring staff who took care of us. The place was so warm, homely and friendly. Food was amazing. The flat bread was incredible. Drinks were so good. Really good atmosphere. Definitely will be back when I’m in New York.

Stopped by the GMT for a few drinks with friends and bought 2 rounds of drinks. Did not eat as we hadn’t long eaten but the food looked delicious In very pleasant surroundings. we arranged to come back afterwards for dinner. Upon requesting our bill which was $36 we left $40 (I did not feel we had to give a 20% tip as suggested on the bill for bringing us 2 drinks each!). As we were getting ready to leave the waitress came back and said “she knows we are tourists but we should leave the suggested tip in future. Now if we had eaten I would happily have left a 20% tip for good service and food but I refuse to have to tip 20% for just drinks as they are dear enough and think it was rather rude to be told we should. I have not scrimped and saved and worked my weekends saving for this trip to keep the waitress in Tiffany and co glasses!. So unfortunately we didn’t get to try their delicious looking food and wouldn’t go back!!!

My husband and I had dinner at GMT Tavern the other day and it was just okay. The food was good, but the portions were very small for the price we paid. Like really, really small. The servers were all very friendly, but seemed to have too many tables, so it took awhile to even get drinks. Probably would not go back.

When I set out to review GMT I noticed that a recent reviewer had had his credit card skimmed and was, therefore, not happy about the Tavern. Under normal circumstances, my review would have been positive: the location on Bleecker Street (thank you Simon & Garfunkel), on the edge of Greenwich Village, our next target for the day, sitting outside in the sun on a warm October day with good food and wine, even if the waitress did seem somewhat disinterested. So, really, what's not to like. The answer to this is that, upon returning to the UK at the end of our holiday, we found that we, also, had hard a card skimmed, cloned, whatever you like to call it. Fortunately, our credit card provider was on the ball and, in due course, after the account was stopped and the card cancelled, all related transactions were refunded. However, the card had only been used twice in NYC and, as there had been another instance of card fraud here, it does lower the odds somewhat. On the day we visited, however, we left with a very positive attitude to our visit and headed off to the Village to explore further. Normally, it would have warranted a mark of four but, allowing for the credit card incident, one - so a compromise of two.

Another wonderful find while walking around Greenwich Village. The food was very good, the Guinness was Guinness, and the service was perfectly friendly!

Like it. Good service, good beer choices (lots and from all over the world), well priced, good location with outdoor seating. Fun with friends

Read 2 reviews regarding credit card skimming while in restaurant. Had cash for dinner, so we stayed and glad we did. My boyfriend loved his fish and chips. Chicken pot pie was also excellent. Reasonable prices and good beers. Would visit here again when in NYC.

Came here last week . They have a spacey terrace with plenty of tables to sit outside and enjoy the good weather . Food is great and well prepared. (not your standard American burger/wing bar ). Staff were quick and attentive and the boss came around for a chat , very nice guy . We were well looked after. Will definitely be back more often over the next few months with the hot weather .

Good beer choices, mediocre wine. and pub food. It's what you expect. Nothing better, not too much worse.

Their sidewalk terrace is nice and roomy, no cheap outdoor furniture, but quality stuff. And the menu... ahhh.... Had the charcuterie on a perfect summer day, watching the world go by. Servers are very friendly and laid back but professional. Good selection of beers. Can't wait to stop by again!

We stopped by in the early afternoon and had their cheese and charcuterie along with an order of fries. The selection of meats was great . The cheese was good, though we wished they had one or two more selections. The order of fries was generous and the selection of beers made it difficult to make a choice (which is a good thing) Service was very good. Décor and ambience were terrific. Loved the shelves of books as a backdrop

33 draft beers on sale here including Boddies, originally from Manchester. Smart service from a very knowledgable waitress who said she had tried all 33, but not in one day. Very pleasant outdoor seating.

Stopped off at GMT with friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon, the place had been recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was great, good music and lively conversation and it was a great place to people watch over a glass of bubbly (which was very reasonably priced). Two of us enjoyed the hangar steak and fries which was melt in the mouth, while my other friend enjoyed the salmon, which was also delicious. I'd defintely recommend this place if you're in the area, the staff were very attentive, food was lovely and the bar had a really friendly vibe. I'll be calling in again when I'm next in town.

Stopped today for a late lunch. Had the brisket and short rib burger. Ordered med/well. Way over cooked, dry and loaded with salt. I mean loaded with salt. Not crowded and service was slow. Enough for me.

We thought the venue was fantastic; the big clock and the pictures of the clock and the queen and all of the flags gave the whole place a very warm and comforting feeling. Service was also good, and cleanliness was very good. We ate out doors in a lovely summer afternoon, which was very pleasant, in many respects because there was very little vehicular traffic on the street. However, although the beer was cold and quite good, the rose was undrinkable and the calamari was almost all breading, terribly over cooked and the bit of seafood that one could find was very much like rubber bands. There may be better food on the menu to match the surroundings but we sure didn't find it today.

Great location in the West Village, this place does a good job of being an English pub. Wide range of British beers and a simple tasty menu of traditional favorites add up to a great-value experience. Quite popular at lunchtime, but service is swift and cheerful.

Happened into this English style pub in Greenwich Village looking for dinner. There were four of us and we were pleasantly surprised to find an interesting menu and coincidently all selected the same meal - roast rib eye with Yorkshire Pudding and vegetables. The waitress, Erika, was very friendly and helpful. The meals and drinks arrived in good time and the food was exactly as ordered. The quality of the meal was excellent and a very pleasant change from that presented in "chain" restaurants. Would thoroughly recommend GMT for good pub food, great atmosphere, friendly service and good value.

Going for the traditional pub look, this place looks slightly out of place in its surroundings but has a huge range of beers and extensive drinks menu. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with an eclectic music mix playing in the bar - we stopped in for drinks and an evening meal recently and the food was great - the drinks overpriced. It was lively and the location ensures a mixed clientele.

When I checked my credit card statement a $45 tip had been added, not the $12 tip I had indicated on the credit card slip. Honest mistake?

If you looking for a nice adult bar to go to in the area, this is your winner. Great atmosphere, decor and service to go with all the choices you could want. A great alternative to the younger college vibe bars in the area.

My wife and I were walking around Greenwich Village and stopped in for a beer. It's an Irish Bar, but no Smithwick's or Harp. Went with a Guinness instead. Gabby was our server and very friendly.

We visited GMT while meeting up with friends in NYC, and it was the perfect spot to catch up over drinks. The interior was nicely decorated and included spacious long tables and wasn't too noisy. The drinks were excellent. We especially enjoyed the hot toddies and mulled cider after walking the city for a bit on a cold December afternoon.

Never had a menu item that was not excellent! Fish specials are creative and delicious. They have an excellent New Zealand Savignon Blanc by the glass and bottle. Yum!

Whenever I come to NYC, this is the first place I visit. Even now I have a craving for the GMT burger with a pint of Old Speckled' Hen. I marked this place 5 stars, and by no means does this mean that GMT tavern is the best restaurant in NYC. It is however and excellent place to find friends, enjoy an excellent burger and relax in an Anglo-US laid back atmosphere. Truly the best of both worlds. Be in no doubt, when that plane has landed, I'll be back here for my first meal. An NYC favourite!

We really like the atmosphere and service. We always order the delicious Oven Roasted Salmon and Shepherd's Pie!

Very nice bar playing good tunes, full of friendly staff and we ate there a couple of times during our trip and we were both very impressed with food. Good bar food done very well and generous portions too.

We spent new years eve here, having visited during the day time we returned on the evening. The food looked excellent although we didn't eat. The selection of beers and spirits plus cocktails was great. I was given a cocktail which I didn't like and this was replaced by the bar tender without issue. All of the staff and the owner were extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was great and the strawberries dipped in chocolate with free champagne at midnight was a treat. This was a great start to the new year and we would certainly return. It is not cheap but we felt it was worth every penny.

A great place to visit when in New York, and a natural stop if you go to Bleecker St, (which you should). The atmosphere is genuine welcoming, friendly and British thanks to the bartender, Nathaniel. Not to mention the water tap in the WC, that you have to push backwards instead of twisting; and of course, the vast selection of drafts they have. I will definitely go back next time, to rest the asphalt out of my legs once again.

It's not really like us to go somewhere without a real plan for dining, but that's exactly what happened this past Sunday. My son and his friends were playing a music gig at The Bitter End at 2:30, but we arrived in the city at noon, hungry for lunch! This place caught my eye. There were able to accommodate 12 of us for outdoor brunch (one table of 7 and one of 5). We sat outside, but I went in to use the restroom, and this place is tastefully decorated with bookshelves, fun art pieces, and a sleek black bar. Ambience is 5 stars. Service was decent. Considering there were 12 of us, I think the food came out at a decent pace. They don't offer kids' meals, and we had some young kids in our party. Three of them shared an order of chicken wings and an order of fries. It was plenty of food. My teenage son had the pancakes, and he was happy. Personally, I had the barbecue chicken sandwich and it was just too much barbecue sauce for my taste. There was coleslaw on the sandwich as well, but I couldn't taste it. It did add a slight crunch to the sandwich, but I would have preferred if some of the flavor of the slaw came through to cut the over-powering barbecue. Still, I would go back, and just order something different. This is a nice place. It's comfortable, and it seems clean.

Great English pub with excellent service, excellent food and choice of drinks!! What a rippa! On Bleecker and la Guardia street in greenwich village~ a British type pub with British tucker

We stumbled across GMT having had dinner nearby. This whole area seems to have really improved over recent years, with both GMT and Malt House in my opinion, two top bars. We had drinks sat at the bar (so can't comment on food), the service from the bar tender was top notch and had a fantastic atmosphere. We will certainly return

Great "during the day" visit with our two kids and they loved it. We only grabbed a couple of nibbles (fries etc) but it was great. Selection of beers are superb as are the cocktails! On one of the best streets (Bleecker) for taking in the area... Always visit here when we are in NYC... you won't be disappointed.

A group of friends and I happened upon GMT while we were out and about in Greenwich village, and I am so glad we did! The atmosphere was fantastic- very warm and inviting. The food was excellent ( I recommend the burger) and they have a great beer selection- definitely something for everyone at this place! I will be recommending this place to friends and family in the future, and I can see GMT becoming my new "go-to" tavern!

I've visited GMT on a few occasions starting with the grand opening and it just keeps getting better and better. The brilliant food, fantastic location and authentic atmosphere makes for a wonderful experience every time. Say hello to Irish owner "Jonno" his infectious and welcoming personality is a treat.

We stopped here after a long walk on a cold April afternoon. What a good choice that was. It's a cozy and friendly place. Food was really good, service is excellent . They have a very large selection of beers. A nice terrace too.

I recently stopped in at GMT tavern. Great selection of beers, fantastic environment really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Super service and reasonable prices.

We visited NYC & popped in for a drink & snack & stayed for many hours & returned the next day. Great location in Bleecker St & good seating inside & out. A very good selection of craft ales & spirits gets you off to a good start before the gastro pub quality food all served with a smile. I would return without a thought & have recommended far & wide. The owner couldn't have been more friendly and charming, real hospitality in the heart of a very busy part of the city.

GMT is very good in many ways. First of all, the place is very impressive to the eye, the attention to detail is commendable. We stopped in for a light bite before going to the "Comedy Cellar". I can highly recommend the: French Onion Soup, Spring Rolls and Mac and Cheese. The draught beer selection was well thought out (20 oz pour); they offered a great sampling from the United Kingdom, Belgium and the USA. We were so impressed with GMT that we stopped by for a nightcap before heading back to our hotel. The waitress and the bartender were both professional and courteous. Well worth seeking out.

We bumped into this after walking through Manhattan. A great find both in charm and choices of beer. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the venue was nice both inside and outside. Would definitely go again!

Daughter and I stumbled upon this place having walked from World Trade Centre and needing sustenance and a rest. Great place, friendly staff and really good food. Great, relaxing bar.

Went to GMT on Saturday night. Last year it was closed for refurbishing and the year before that we went there for lunch a few times. This was the first time for evening dinner. It was a real unexpected pleasure. Great pub food and well proportioned drinks/cocktails!! Played a lot of 80s music and all round there was a lovely atmosphere. I had fish and chips ...... it was tasty and there was a lot of it. My partner had streak - again it was delicious and a lot if it! Real mixture of people in GMT and service was perfect - always on hand but never standing over or rushing us. Thoroughly recommend GMT if you want some decent pub food; great atmosphere and large drinks!

After many year's back in the wonderful Village and this time with three lovely girls, we needed a welcoming and easy place to have lunch, a drink and sit back to enjoy the mood. We knew nothing in advance, had not looked it up in the guide books. From the moment we sat down in the glorious October sunshine we felt relaxed and at home. The Cobb Salad was perfection, the service friendly and attentive. People hark after the good old days of the Village, this joint marks the good new days. We went back later that evening to sit inside and have a few 'pub' drinks making it the best of both worlds.

My wife and I stopped in here on our first night in New York, just because it was close. A wide selection of draft beers. We shared a couple of small plates: Kobe sliders and duck confit. Both dishes were awesome, with delightful flavor. We will go back. The place is actually relatively new (I think nine years old) but it feels like stepping back into a time of elegance in bars: Beautiful dark wood and furnishings.

Great place for a chilly glass of rose and some of their spring rolls. Quaint, funky neighborhood Great menu reasonable prices. Good service

My husband and I happened upon this tavern as we were making our way to the 911 museum and memorial. We couldn't have been luckier. They have a very good selection of beer on tap, and the food (fish & chips; burger) was quite good. The owner and bartender were quite friendly, and the place is beautifully decorated with old-world charm (brass ceiling tiles and sturdy oak). We enjoyed our experience so much that we made our way there for dinner Saturday evening, where we sat outside because it was crowded inside. Again, our meals (steak salad and chicken pot pie) did not disappoint. However, what really stood out was the Manhattan cocktail - soooo smooth. Luckily, we were then able to move inside and sit at the bar for a 2nd round. Do not hesitate to dine here if you're in the Washington Square area. You will not be sorry.

We were walking around the city, starving because we skipped lunch, and decided to eat at the GMT Tavern. It's a beautiful old place, wonderfully decorated for Christmas. We each had the grilled cheese sandwich - delicious. The fries were perfect and I loved the small salad. I ate every bite.

This is a beautifully styled bar where you can sit up on a high stool at the bar and soak up the atmosphere. I didn't have anything to eat, but the locals were friendly and Liam the barman is a genuine old school Irish barman. Definitely worth a visit.

Two of us had s great meal here at the GMT Tavern. The menu isn't huge, which I prefer, but has a nice selection of meat, fish and veggie options. We dined outside as it was warm and it was pleasant. The staff were nice, attractive without being "in your face". Some of the food is British style, outs was cooked & presented well. I would happily return.

After a day in New York we stopped at the GMT to grab a drink and enjoy a bite to eat. GMT has an extensive beer and wine list to choose from and the Ommegang Witte that was served on tap did not disappoint. The Kobe burger was delicious although the bun was a little too toasted yet otherwise delicious. The Fish and Chips from the Pub food menu was delicious and substantial. The outside seating made the evening sparkle along with excellent service from our waitress. Simply great food and drink!

Picture this... two dishevelled tourists, tired, soaking wet from the November rain looking for a place to rest. And we stubble across this nice bar. Great selection of beers from around the world. Nice ambience. Would recommend.

We sat outside and really enjoyed the people watching. The drinks were tasty and the cheese tray was delicious also. Our server was great!

Prior to attending a show at the Bitter End which is across from the restaurant I had the opportunity to have a quick bite at the GMT Tavern. Even though it was in the evening on Sept. 21, 2018 the weather was warm and we were seated at a very nice table with an open, outdoor view. I ordered a Burger which turned out to be one of the tastiest burgers that I've ever had in a Pub style or Sports Bar restaurant. I'm not sure if it was the quality of the meat or the way it was cooked but it was certainly delicious. Usually the taste of the meat is eclipsed by all the toppings but not in this case. I would definitely go back to GMT and gladly order the exact same meal.

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant on a rainy night in New York - after entering this place the discomfort of the rain was washed away with a warm welcome. John Keogh who owns the bar was constantly on his feet welcoming guests and always keen to go the extra mile. The food is good - especially the Cobb salads and the variety of beer on offer is exceptional - I was drinking Hoegaarden which was served well. The service was brisk and always correct to order - we ended up visiting another 2 occasions we were that impressed. We would like to thank John and his staff for their welcome - the only down side is that he is a Man U fan!! ;-)

My friend and I were visiting NYC for the US Open and staying in SoHo. This was a relaxing first meal before our big weekend. I had the steak salad cooked medium. The basil dressing was an unexpected delight. My friend ordered the burger sliders with goat cheese. She enjoyed them. Modest portions which were acceptable. We were able to watch some of the Open while lunching. Most sat outside on the patio to enjoy the nice temperatures. Perfect lunch spot on the first day of an exciting weekend.

had the potato leek soup off the special menu..was looking forward to a big hot bowl of creamy soup to warm up a chilly day..was served barely warm, bland..I dont think it was seasoned at all..square bowl of blah. If the soup had been worth eating I would have been dissapointed by the portion size. Nice big patio to grab a drink and people watch, but save your appetite for another place.

Stopped into GMT for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The staff are pleasant and attentive. The food very good. And, a great selection of draft beer.

This is a great pub just off Bleecker Street, right in the heart of Greenwich Village. We have visited NYC every year now for many years and never miss popping into GMT 2 or 3 times during our visit. The bar is beautifully furnished and serves a wide variety of drinks, including fab cocktails, really good wine, some great Whisky and excellent seasonal speciality drinks (the hot apple cider being one of my favourites)!! We have sat inside while visiting during the winter....always at the Bar as the Bar staff are very welcoming and friendly (Nathaniel from Liverpool being one) and always have great tips of local places visit. We when visiting in summer, we take advantage of the ample seating outside in to the glorious NYC evening weather and watch the world go by whilst having some excellent food or just a few relaxing drinks. I would highly recommend this gorgeous bar for food or drinks. If you are down in the village, pop in....you won't be disappointed. I can't wait until we are back there again!!

Went here for lunch one day!:) i had salmon which was amazing and my husband had a burger which he said was good too! We had a few cocktails too which were good and strong!xx defo go back there!! Good english place!! We enjoyed it that much we went back the night after, and had steak I had mash pots and my husband had fries! It was one of the best steaks i have ever had! The staff couldnt do enough for you! Would return without a doubt! Lovely atmosphere!!

nice place good food but I think it's pricy for the value. for 80$ I think there are better pubs. won't be back

A great atmosphere to discover good beers, a nice setting, in short, enough to have a great time in Greenwich Village.

We happened across this place by chance and I am so glad we did. Lovely staff, great menu and brilliant choice of drinks. The decor is quirky and traditional and the atmosphere great. A good hum of conversation mixed with background music and sports on the tv. We ate here on our first visit and none of us were disappointed at the food. All hot, tasty and well cooked with great flavour. Revisited yesterday just for drinks and same warm friendly welcome and great service. Haight recommended.

We stopped here for lunch last week and as it was such a glorious day asked if we could eat outside. We teased the waitress (Chelbi) afterwards that we should have been paid commission as as soon as we were eating a number of other passersby came and ate there (it was unusually warm). We shared the crab cakes with potato chips and aioli. The crab cakes were served with a delicious warm corn salad and were delicious. There was a large selection of beers available and the lady behind the bar gave my husband a taster of three beers so that he could decide which one he liked. Very friendly staff. The bill was $54.00 with two beers and two good sized glasses of Pinot Grigiot. A lovely lunch and we will return. Thank you.

we went to GMT Tavern for happy hour. There were pretty good options for drink specials and the food we ordered (just appetizers) was tasty. There were many people there but the noise wasn't overwhelming. The service was really good as well.

This is a brilliant pub to find beer than isn't all CRAFT (i.e. Estella, long board, Stella) and if you want good quality British fayre. Nice staff, relaxed atmosphere and not too expensive. Would definitely return

3 of us for dinner. Made reservations for 6:30. Seated promptly with prompt service. All food delicious. Lentil soup, Kobe beef burger, escargot , pot pie, mahi mahi. Very friendly atmosphere. Perfect for seeing a show at the bitter end across the street which is why we went. Beautiful interior. Would go back for sure.

Stopped and had lunch on the sidewalk watching people go by. My wife and daughter were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our food, it presentation and value (for NY) The lamb lollipops were quickly devoured by my daughter while wife and I feasted on tuna with tangerines & salad. All and all, if you are in the area, I would stop by for a pint and a lovely lunch.

I love this place! Great pint of Guinness. My fav bar in the village. It’s my go to place when friends are in town.

GMT Tavern is a true gem in Greenwich Village. It is one of the few remaining quality pubs downtown that strikes the perfect balance between atmosphere, hospitality, and great food and drinks. I've been coming here for years, whether for a pint and conversation, post-marathon gatherings, or work events, and it never disappoints. Unlike many downtown spots that feel like nightclubs or dives, GMT has the charm of a classic London pub—sophisticated yet unpretentious, with a welcoming and down-to-earth vibe. It’s a fantastic spot to grab a break from the hyper-commercial, often overwhelming energy of SoHo, whether you're visiting NYU, shopping nearby, or just looking for a relaxed place to unwind. The beer selection is excellent, and their Guinness is poured to perfection. It’s also a great place to watch soccer, with TVs that enhance the experience without dominating the atmosphere. Last week, we had a fantastic server—attentive, professional, and friendly—and everything we ordered was on point. The giant pretzel was a standout, a perfectly executed pub snack that paired beautifully with a pint. With cozy indoor seating and outdoor tables when the weather’s nice, GMT is the kind of spot you keep coming back to. I don’t live in NYC anymore, but I try to drop in whenever I’m in town. We’ll definitely host more gatherings here—the Village needs more spots like this!

You can find cheaper food and probably a better service, but the steak sandwich was good and we could sit outside in the sun.

A really lovely bar with quirky decor. Service was quick. Comfortable and clean. Drinks were good. Friendly staff

My Mate and I visited this place the first day we came to New York. The tavern looked fantastic and had a great atmosphere to it. Everything from the music to the décor really made us feel comfortable and at home. The staff were very attentive and polite, always checking if we was ok or if we needed any more drinks etc. When we were there, I ordered the NY strip steak and it was one of the best I have had in a while! We also had dessert which was really good. The wide selection of drinks and the good pricing make this tavern one of the best in New York. Will definitely visit next time I am back.

Discovered this whilst just wandering around, taking in the atmosphere, and enjoyed our visit. Good quality food and a nice 'pub' environment.

As friendly a bar as I have ever been in. Strange seeing some English beers, but still a super choice of local beers too. Very friendly bar staff who offered a taste of their brewing shots. I'm glad I only sampled the chilli shot as a full measure would have hurt. Well worth finding.

Found this little restaurant/bar by accident whilst on the way to another bar and I am so happy I went inside. We sat outside watching the world go by and were served by very friendly staff. The menu consisted of items such as fish & chips, chicken wings and burgers and the portions were sizeable. The food was delicious and I would definitely return when back in New York.

Visited in october with friends after a long day walking.stumbled on the tavern by accident but glad we did.plenty of seating inside and out, good drink selections and a lively pub atmosphere.

Nice pub in Greenwich New York city that has a distinct British feel to it. Went in on a Saturday night and the place was bouncing. Then went in the following day to try the Sunday roast - nice touch for us English folk.

We visited GMT without making reservations on a Saturday night before heading to watch the Blues bands in Terra Blues which is across the street. The hostess and the waitress was very friendly and showed their best attitude to provide us the nice table and food selection. Their beer and wine choices are very rich and never out of stock. The ambiance is colorful and lighting is perfect.

After a lot of walking, we stumbled across this pub & decided to go for a drink - fortunately for us! It was great as it allowed us to sample drinks from all over the world! Although, for us, it was a little pricey, it was definitely worth it! Sat on the corner, you can sit nicely and watch the world go by, or, as we were a group of 5, we sat on a higher table & just had a few relaxing drinks. The waitress came over often enough, but not too often to ask if we needed any more drinks which was great. Really lovely atmosphere!

We stopped in to GMT after a full (and very cold) day of walking the city just before Christmas. Great, cozy atmosphere and wonderful food. The mac & cheese is delicious! All of the staff was very friendly and 2 great bartenders. Highly recommend!

After a terrible experience not getting to eat elsewhere, we found this gem walking a bit further south. I loved the fish and chips and my wife loved her burger. Only weird moment was the lady next to us receiving a load of bird poop on her. Recommend this pub

My wife and I had watched the rennovation of this classic corner in our neighborhood with interest. The new decor, British-pub-ish, looked like an upgrade from the psuedo-Mexican dive that had occupied that space before. So we stopped into the GMT for a nightcap around 9:30 or so one Friday after dinner. The place smelled of stale beer, but the main room was pleasantly lit and nearly full, without being crowded. We snagged two stools by the window overlooking Bleecker Street, and I walked up to the bar. The bar is really long, and all the bartenders were hanging out together way down at the other end. After a few minutes wait, one finally made his way down to my end. I asked him if they had Heineken on tap. Big mistake, I guess. He looked down his nose, snorted something like, "We have twenty-two beers on tap and fifty beers in the bottle", and shoved a huge menu at me (the numbers here might not be accurate, but there were a lot of beers listed on that menu). I didn't feel like studying, and I figured they must have a decent draft pilsner, so I asked, "Could you give us a couple of pints of something kind of like Heineken?" He brought two pints and snapped, "$14". I paid and left $1 on the bar instead of the $3 I would normally leave a hospitable bartender. When I sat down with my wife, we found the pints were not pilseners at all, but some kind of pale ale. Not our cup of tea. We brought the beers back and left them on the bar undrunk, and left. We will not be back. There are plenty of other places just a few steps away from the GMT that actually welcome customers.

this tavern was so enticing on a hot and humid evening. a girlfriend and i were looking for a place to relax after not getting into a sold out MOTH event at the nearby bitter end. bar was nice enough and a window seat was great for people watching. too bad the staff (young gals) were preoccupied with themselves. they were great once we got their attention, or rather we caught the attention of the bartender who snapped them into shape.

I have been to GMT several times since it opened, and I have to say, every time I walk in, the staff remembers me and my husband. The decor is beautiful and the outdoor seating in the summer is great. Plus when it's a little chilly, there are heaters that allow you to sit outside and still be comfortable. Whenever I bring friends, I end up recommending all the dishes without realizing but the lamb is great, and the fish and chips has passed the test for my english husband as authentic. The burger is wonderful and the truffle mac and cheese is not to be missed. If you are on bleecker street this is the pub to walk into.

We came upon this spot on Saturday night, after several earlier stops. We were looking for a place to have a nightcap...and that nightcap turned into almost 3 hour visit! The atmosphere in GMT is really great-the holiday decorations and flattering lighting combine for a lovely, warm feeling. If you have spent any time at other bars on Bleeker Street, you will know what i mean when i say this was a welcome haven in a sea of smelly crowded places. The owner is a very funny and sweet guy who treated us like old friends. We are already looking forward to our next visit to the city so we can go back to GMT.

Whilst on a 4 day break to NYC we found ourselves in Greenwich Village during a snow fall. We took cover for 4 hrs during which time we had Champers and cocktails. John was a fantastic and welcoming host and well worth a visit. The decor is great and very homely would definitely visit again one of our many highlights!

This place is okay to go to... Everything is of average quality. Food sizes are a little bit smaller than in most places. Service staff was friendly but a little confused. Prices are as expensive as everywhere else. I didn't like for the waiter to add their tip to our bill themselves... Found it quite bold. Dislike!

On the way to dinner we were early and stopped at another bar (better known) who told us we had to order if we sat at a bars side table.....their loss) so we crossed the street and never looked back! Great atmosphere and friendly staff and clientele. Beer prices a little high but it is Manhatten. Turned out to be a prefect start to our group's evening. One of the patrons at the bar recommended a small restaurant in the neighborhood and we changed plans. He was right! A memorable place!

We came to new york to get married and spend our honey moon,on our wedding night after our ceremony and meal we all came down to GMT in our wedding clothes and had a great time with beer and lager you would find in pubs back home in scotland.welcoming and friendly and the manager was irish who was really chatty and friendly.

Fell into GMT by accident on a recent trip to NYC. Spent hours walking around Greenwich Village on an unusually warm Saturday in late April and landed in GMT. It looked inviting, upbeat, nice looking, well behaved guests, open to the street and air conditioned on this very hot (90 degrees) Saturday afternoon. Clean bathrooms; welcoming staff; great service. Unfortunately, we had already eaten lunch otherwise we would have dined here. Plan to go back on next visit. I am a former NYC resident (40+ years).

Terrible service. Our waitress came to the table to take our order and give us our check. Didn't check on us. Didn't ask us if we needed additional drinks. Food was mediocre and extremely salty. Took a long time to get our food and half was cold. Never again.

really friendly staff in this tavern. the decor was nice and it had a lovely atmosphere. there are 37 different beers on tap and loads of wines, cocktails which were all reasonably priced. we had sliders as a snack at the bar and they were fab. spent longer in this bar than intended as it was so nice.

This place is great and the burgers are really good value. You get a kobe-beef paddy in a brioche bun with stilton cheese and other condiments. I can definitely reccomend going here for a beer and a burger. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice location right at the best part of Bleecker st.

Most Definitely one of the best bars in NYC Excellent food Super Friendly Staff Amazing food. The atmosphere is electric, great fun, great music. No visit to NY is complete with a visit here

We had been unable to visit GMzt on our previous visit as unbeknownst to us, it was closed Christmas Eve, so we made a special effort to visit. Again, it was a nice atmosphere for a drink. The service was very slow and hit and miss.

Once the location of an NYU frat haunt, GMT Tavern is infinitely better. The food is great (you can't beat the Scotch eggs for a tasty snack), the drinks are fantastic (order a Southside), the service is outstanding. Just a great place to hang out with friends and catch up.

Whilst mooching around the village came across this bar good selection of beers from all over world good vibe nice place

Whilst walking to SOHO spotted GMT and a Trip Advisor award was displayed, so we stopped. Ate outside on a nice patio. Efficient service, nice beer selection. Kobe burger and crab cake were both very good.

We were walking around the village - aimlessly on 4th of July looking for a place to sit and have lunch. My husband and I both spotted GMT Tavern and both said - there!! We sat outside and had the greatest waitress/bartender. I asked for a little change to one of their cocktails - adding spicy tequila to a watermelon margarita - it was SO DELICIOUS - I had 2. Our meals were very good...I didnt love my pulled pork tacos - but my husband did - he ate his meal then ate mine!! My daughter had a customized grilled cheese and I ate all of her DELICIOUS fries!! We sat outside and although it was a hot day - we were fine - the awning kept us cool enough this was a delightful place and we would happily come back again!!

My husband, daughter and I were in NY celebrating her 21st birthday, we happened upon this fantastic bar by chance. It was warm and inviting on a cold Sunday afternoon. The bar is spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful. A big thank you to John who is a fantastic host, we were only there for an hour or so but he made us feel like we were old friends, thanks for helping to make this a memorable trip for Lynsey :)

Stopped in for a snack and wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice and it was dusk. We were seated at the very end of the section outside. Server took some time to arrive and take our drink order. There's a hookah bar next door that we started getting some second hand smoke off of. Should have moved tables but didn't. Ordered a couple drinks and the slider and truffled mac & cheese. They were OK. Server could have gotten another round of drinks had she been more attentive. I'd try it again but wouldn't sit next to the Hookah place.

I was surprised to discover this English-style pub in Greenwich Village, open and crowded Christmas night. Dimly lit with wooden floors, tin ceiling ,clock with English time over the bar and portrait of the queen in the back, this pub has an interesting menu and pub fare. My 10 ounce Kobi beef burger with fries was only $15 and delicious. My generous glass of wine was only $9. There are cozy indoor tables, and outdoor seating that wraps around the corner. The patrons that night were locals and lots of tourists. Christmas tree and lights are lovely. There is a big screen TV for sports lovers.

I frequently grab lunch here during the work week. I've found the staff to be friendly and the food to be consistently good. I tend to sit outdoors and have always had great service. My typical order usually involves salmon salad, chicken sandwich, or chicken cobb salad. Everything is always fresh & tasty.

Nice bar with a great selection of beers and food. A place to chill, relax, chat and if you want, to watch football. A place to find a bit of Greenwich (England) in the USA.

This is a large pub with a good number of outside tables. There were many young - presumably student - customers. At night the bar has pleasant lighting. The selection of beers in particular draft is good and the menu does have the feeling of a British pub. I ordered the lamb chops which arrived looking a little grey. The mash was good - if salty and the plate also had some green beans. All around authentic, although the meat of the chops wasn't the best. Service is pleasant if rather rushed and not very well structured. The table of students next to me decided to start whistling to attract the servers attention. When the bill came, for the lamb and a single beer the tab was $31.52. I presented a $50 note and was rewarded with $18 change. Now this may be a pet peeve of mine, but when did we all agree that any coinage becomes the property of the server? Increasingly you see this in NY and I'm not sure what the logic is. Is the thought that I find coins an inconvenience? This is a reasonable place, but there's nothing extraordinary and I trust that they religiously 'card' some of the younger patrons.

Excellent pub with great outdoors, wonderful service and people and outstanding selection of Irish whiskeys! Will be back very soon.

Wandered in here while my kids queued for DO up the road. On a very cold day this was a warm haven for abandoned dads! Usual big sports screens set up around, not too intrusive but there for those who need their sports fix. The waitress was efficient and the beer options plentiful. Very much a typical tavern/pub feel to the place. really enjoyed the break.

Happy and helpful staff. Some good British dishes on the menu. Nice to sit outside and watch the traffic pass by.

It was a Saturday night in April, around 8pm, and I was strolling along Bleecker enjoying the music emanating from the bars and clubs and enjoying seeing the people milling around. However, the combination of having been on my feet all day, with finding myself in an area that seemed to be full of couples and groups, helped me decide that I would head back to midtown - my adopted neighbourhood. It was just then that I spotted a bar across the road called GMT - an Englishman in New York and a bar called GMT - this was fate - I couldn't not try it... I walked into GMT alongside a beautiful girl - my first reaction was 'Wow - she must be the most attractive girl in New York' - we sat at the bar and talked for some time while she was waiting for her party to arrive. It was a memorable evening, relaxing in the comfortable and trendy surroundings of GMT, enjoying the drinks and the music, sharing jokes, and bantering with the friendly bar staff, and generally enjoying the ambience of a night to remember. When the most attractive girl in New York left we arranged to meet in a club uptown later in the night and exchanged telephone numbers. I was going to take a walk around Greenwich Village but on the way out I got chatting with Raul the Bouncer. I have to say that talking with Raul was a real pleasure - a great asset to GMT - it was really interesting learning about the New York nightlife from a professional doorman's perspective, and we were later joined by Liam the DJ. They both made me feel so welcome and happy to be there that I ended up talking with them for over an hour. I could have stayed there longer but my phone rang - it was my invitation to go clubbing with the most attractive girl in New York... That night reinforced my feeling that New Yorkers are so friendly, and this made all the difference between me having a good time and having a great time. GMT - thanks for the happy memories and next time I cross the Atlantic I'll definitely drop in. p.s. the most attractive girl in New York and I became friends and still keep in touch...

Went for lunch with my wife and adult children. The place was pretty quiet but looked inviting. It took a bit for the server to come by and when she did she looked at us like we were aliens. We asked for lunch menus and water and she sort of sneered at us. We weren't there to drink and we got the impression that she thought we were definitely uncool. The food itself was really good. We enjoyed burgers and salad. A bit better than average pub food. So, on those grounds would happily return. But, unfortunately we did not feel welcome. Just not hip enough I guess.

I stopped in for a late lunch. The outdoor seating was perfect for a summer day. I had a beer and burger. It was cooked exactly to medium well and tasty really well. I chose a salad instead of fries. The burger was on the small side and the salad boring lettuce with a bit of tomato and dressing. Overall my meal and service was average and OK.

Very nice, i also like chicken pie pot it goes great with ale beers. It is great 8th december 2014. I love it!

My Fiancée and I had visited GMT earlier in the year when our Sunday Roast was less than what we expected.. However, being a traditional Englishman, with an American fiancée we both enjoy a Sunday Roast.. So we decided to give the GMT another go.. I have to say the experience was excellent, the food was very good and, plentiful, But...despite the amount of food we still sent our plates back Empty..! We chose a roadside table, and while the weather was OK, we were far from cold, due to the exterior heating provided by the restaurant. The staff, some of whom are Ex-Pats, were genuinely helpful and friendly, with a special thanks to Claire for her attentive service. The Drinks menu is extensive and the wine we had was of excellent quality.. and reasonably priced, we also had a pint each of Guinness, and I have to say that the taste was equal to any I have had on trips to Dublin.. See you soon GMT..

Good looking british style place. Well located at the gate of Greenwich Village. Nice service, and good selection of beers.

We just kind of happened on this place and we are happy we did. The food was excellent and the service was friendly while not being to overbearing. A perfect balance. I had the shrimp salad with watercress, shrimp was good sized and not soggy like it had been frozen. We also ordered lobster sliders, the rolls were fresh and the lobster salad delicious. A big star was the duck confit appetizer. I had an Irish coffee that was made perfectly. After my meal I had the Irish aperitif, which was great. All around, it was a cozy place and a welcome break from walking the streets of NY.

I know this is a beer place, but they have the most excellent New Zealand Savignon Blanc as well as excellent crabcakes and salmon. Good location with outdoor seating an d excellent selection of a variety of beers. Great addition to the Greenwich Village Neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Myself and my girlfriend stumbled into this bar whilst exploring Greenwich Village. As we stepped into the restaurant we where pleased with initial impressions and decided to stay for dinner. The service was good and very friendly, our waitress was very pleasant and food arrived promptly. We both ordered the Hanger steak. At first glance seemed like a very good steak, however the more we ate the saltier it got. We couldn't decide if it was the seasoning on the steak or the fries alongside but it definitely took the shine off the meal. This aside the steaks where cooked beautifully and if you like salty food I would recommend to others, not quite to our pallet.

Found this while walking along Bleecker Street looking for a pizza place! Once we had eaten our pizza we popped in for a couple of drinks before heading back to our hotel. Can only say we wish we had found it sooner, not on our last night in the city! Great place with outside seating area which was great on a hot NYC night.

Very cosy and friendly staff. We had such a good time just before my wife's bday. Great imported beers (Newqy brown included)

Stopped in with my husband on a sunny summer Saturday in West Village. My cocktail was amazing Hot Limey. Tequila, Thatchers Brand 3 chilies liquor and glass rimmed with chipotle salt. A bit zippy and hot about a 7 on a scale of 1/10. Got to try this one at home! The munchies are way above the standard pub grub. Nice place to sit and people watch, even from the inside (in our case all outside tables were taken) don't be disappointed because the huge windows are really nice for the breeze and the view. We'll deff. be returning! Cheers folks, prices are not too high, really reasonable for NYC.

Sheperds pie was fantastic. It was hot and delicious. The lamb was perfectly cooked, the potato topping was cheesy and creamy. It was paired perfectly with a cocktail.

We were staying near this pub and dropped in each evening for cocktails and food. The owner and his team were very slick.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Seated inside or outside great place to be. Great location and easy to get to.

I was walking streets and blocks @ the city in humid conditions. Had to seek shelter to cool down. It was lunchtime. And GMT Tavern shined at the corner. Jumped in. Not to many guests inside so a quick table. Had to be inside.. Service was very quick and I ordered their "Meantime Burger" I´ts Kobe and it comes with delicious dry fries and the burger is so tasty! Just my taste! I got cooled down and pleased at the same time. A very comfy place and great service. No doubt. I will check in next time at this place. Try it!

Went to GMT with my wife, and had a pre-dinner drink at a table by an open window. A strong breeze blew the window closed and shattered my wife's drink. Glass all over the place. The busboy promptly cleaned up the glass, but I asked the busboy if I could speak to the manager, as my wife was very upset. He said he would send the manager right over, but after 10 minutes no manager. By then I was pretty upset and loudly called the bartender over. The bartender got all indigent saying that no one speaks to him in that tone of voice, using my justifiable concern against me. At that point we blew off dinner. A customer shouldn't be made to feel that a situation like this was their fault. This could have been handled promptly and easily by providing a replacement drink and a simple apology. Needless to say we went somewhere else for dinner. I will never go to GNT again.

Had relatives in from England, spent a few hours here before Chris Botti show at Bluenote. Food and drinks were excellent, atmosphere really good. Highly recommend .

Clean, classic Irish bar. Bartender was friendly and place had a fun environment although it was a slow evening.

Stopped here for a couple of beers and fries. The location is great and the service was excellent. It was on a sunny day in November and we sat outside to bask in the sun and sip our local brews.

Great little find in Greenwich Village. Good menu - fish and chips, roast beef for the British traditionalists and great choice if you prefer something different - crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise to die for! Trifle! A huge selection of beers - what more can an Englishman ask for other than a PINT OF BODDINGTONS!

Great bar. Lovely friendly staff and prices cheaper than other establishments in the area. Only found it in our last night but would def recommend as a place to have a few chilled beers with some nice back ground music

We had walked from Union square up to Greenwich village and hubby was getting in need of a sit down , so we stopped off here. He had the Cobb salad which was a great choice ,it was lovely. I had the shrimp salad ,which was also good , but oh that Cobb salad !!. Hubby also had the Harlem blue ale which was nice. The rest of the menu was very good as well , would go here again - would like to try at night.

We passed GMTTavern whilst shopping and returned to it for a welcome beer and early evening dinner. We sat outside and had a delicious meal. Only one out of he four of us had a main meal, the other's had a "small plate" with extra fries. The fries were delicious and served in a cone with two dipping sauces. I had the crab cake with corn salsa, fantastic, full of large pieces of crab and accompanied with a chipotle mayonnaise. The other's had the Kobe beef slider's and beef burger. GMT were happy to serve the burgers to us plain, rather than with cheese, caramelised onions and jalapeño's. Along with a couple of beers and free refill's on the boy's cokes, the bill came to roughly $90 for four. After reviewing the offerings in The Times Squares area where we were staying we made a second trip to GMT Tavern, again no-one was disappointed , fish taco's, lobster slider's, delicious. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Water glasses are refilled regularly, much needed in the August heat of NYC. Great place to watch the world go by.
Great Place
Stopped in during a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in the city. We enjoyed a few appetizers and drinks. The atmosphere is perfect for the city and the service was excellent. A great location to relax and watch the world go by.
