Great diner experience. We had brunch and was very happy with our meal. Lots of comfort food on the menu. The staff was friendly and service was great.

Touristing day 3: We found this diner with all the american breakfast items you could possibly want. We tried the eggs, bacon and pancakes. Nice and friendly atmosphere, we will be back.

I used to come to this diner frequently when I lived in Hells kitchen, and performed on Broadway. This was in the 90s, so this diner has been around a long time. My hotel was in Midtown and came back for a nostalgic breakfast. I was the only one there at 8 o’clock, so I was treated by the very pleasant staff to a lot of extra special attention. Now the food: I got a scrambled egg and pecan pancakes. I guess I could call myself a pancake connoisseur; it is my favorite breakfast item. The only thing I would change is if they would offer a real maple syrup. Diners often have have it little bottles

We had breakfast and dinner at this charming little restaurant. The breakfast was very good but the dinner was excellent! Very good homemade cooking, large portions, friendly staff, big selection. We went after a show and it was perfect!! We recommend it highly

My wife, daughter, and I stopped in on a Monday morning for breakfast and had no issues securing a table. We met her at the Intrepid and walked a few blocks over. It's a basic diner that with good service and average, typical diner food. Nothing creative on the menu. Speaking of menu...make sure you sanitize your hands afterwards because they are sticky. I had the French toast with bananas and strawberries and a side of turkey sausage. My wife had a mushroom omelette, and my daughter had the egg white omelette with veggies. The French toast was basic white American bread and nothing fancier. The sausage was three tiny links and cooked a while ago. As coffee snobs, I would say the coffee was drinkable. Our meals came out fast and cooked fresh. Nothing special and just a basic breakfast. Service was good and the prices were to be expected since it was NYC. There is on the street parking nearby but plenty of parking lots.

The food was excellent price good for only few blocks from time's Square staff polite and friendly just a feel good place

Great diner, typically American, lovely food, service and great price. I'm from the UK and just happened to come across this whilst searching for a laundrette

We stopped into Galaxy Diner on a busy Saturday around 11:00 with a party of 12 people, they were very accomadating and service was top notch. Some had breakfast foods some had lunch food, Everyone had a great meal with no complaints. I would recommend stopping in for a bit.

Not only is their chicken avocado salad wrap good tasting and fresh. It is also adequately portioned. With French Fries, it is a shareable order as we only wanted a snack before a show having had fruits at lunchtime. In addition, all the staff are friendly and thankful that we had a meal there although they were not assigned to our table. Has sidewalk seating for sunny days and clean restrooms.

We were seeking a place to sit down and enjoy breakfast. The food was good however the service was somewhat scattered. Would probably go back if we were in the area.

A very nice culinary experience in a nice atmosphere and extremely friendly staff.Everything tastes amazing, but their salads are definitely out of this world. Our compliments to the chef!Thank you for making our dinner in New York visiting from tiny Belgium something to remember.

Been ordering almost daily a meal from Galaxy Diner ,huge portions, delicious food ,always fresh and quick delivery. If you're hungry call Galaxy!

We found this place on our last morning in the city - wish we had found it sooner! Great service and the food was amazing! HUGE portions on the breakfast sandwiches - could be shared by two people. Reasonably priced menu - something for everyone! We would go back there on another trip!

Most restaurants in Hell's Kitchen are either bars with food, or niche cuisine. Few have the breadth and quality of Galaxy. It is truly a better-than-a-diner diner. Here's the thing: for more than 20 years, I said the same thing about Georgio's, my go-to spot at 53rd and Ninth. I was so sad when it closed in June, and spent the summer looking for a substitute, with no success. And then I learned that the staff and menu are now at Galaxy! Same broad menu, same delicious recipes, same friendly staff. I am thrilled my go-to restaurant is just a few more blocks away for me, but maybe closer tor you if you're near Times Square. Note: any review of Galaxy before July 2019 is pretty much irrelevant.

Compared to other diners in NYC, I'd give the Galaxy and average rating. It was OK - but there are so many really good diners to try, this one is mostly just functional dining. Nothing was quite warm enough. The scrambled eggs were not well blended before cooking. The Challah French toast used some pretty low quality challah - more like white bread than challah. Service was rushed, even though the restaurant was fairly empty. Coffee wasn't good - but I had decaf (heavy chicory)

This has to be the best breakfast deal on the West Side. Right across from Restaurant Row and only a block from the theaters, the Galaxy offers great food. In my case it was breakfast. Great price - great food. + I paid twice ass much at naother diner in the area a week ago.

We have been to the Galaxy several times. We are not likely to go again. The service was incredibly slow….especially for a New York diner. The food was just ok. My hamburger seemed to be right out of the box from the freezer. My wife had a Cobb Salad with over cooked chicken. On the plus side, the coffee is good, but the cups need better cleaning. It was not close to being good enough for what it cost.

Fantastic breakfasts- am travelling alone and have come here three mornings in a row!! Staff very friendly; reasonably priced too!!

We were not impressed. Maybe we went on an off day. The food was okay but nothing to remember. My partner did not feel good after eating so when we are back in the city we will definitely not return. You may have better luck.

Came here because it’s near ROW NYC. I had the poached eggs that I put my hash browns in. Turkey bacon was good. My bride had an omelette. We’ll b bok!

Lovely Diner full of tourists and locals alike. Friendly staff and great selection of dishes on offer. Interesting Galaxy painted ceiling and discreet TV's on, showing Oscars Night, to add to the enjoyable and excellent value of this "find".

Ate here for dinner due to the close proximity to our hotel. It has a very big menu, and big portions. While the service may not have been super friendly, they were attentive and quick. The food was average, but good for a quick, reasonably priced meal.

Proper diner, proper pancakes and coffee. Proper service. Go here people, it's brilliant! Great service too.

We loved our breakfast here, there were great options and all of our tastes (family of 4) catered for. Great service. We tried some new things and all were delicious. 10/10

We went for a late breakfast and were impressed with what was on offer and the prices. The food was good and plenty of it and the service was efficient and, in the main, friendly. The best budget diner we have been to in the Times Square/Broadway area.

Exceptional service, very helpful and friendly. Quaint little diner with excellent food. I had the corn chowder and the Galaxy chicken with mashed potatoes and the best, freshest spinach I’ve ever eaten! Very affordable and plentiful servings. Close to Times Square.

Very nice place, the plates are not only copious but very, very good and at a very reasonable price in NYC. Pleasant staff. To test !!

Very close to time square, seems a popular place for brunch. But also offer a good variety of food. Deserve a mention the beef gyros. Pros: location , price. Se habla español. Cons: is not a place for beers...ok but a little mor variety would be welcome (only 2 beers available) Overall, this is a recommended place to have a brunch or lunch with no to much expectations.

We eat here every morning while on vacation. Food is outstanding! Service is wonderful! Will come back every time we are here. Highlight of our mornings. Thank you!!

Hotel recommended this place and we were so pleased we went. Very busy but didn’t wait too long for a table. A huge selection for breakfast. I got an omelette and coffee (with a top up) for less that 10 dollars. Very reasonably priced and good quality food. Quick service.

Breakfast was very good. Fast friendly service. There are lots of menu options to choose from. Easy walk from our hotel.

Good cheap alternative to expensive options st Time Square with staple diner food you would want in a diner especially with family.

Great atmosphere in a well established eatery. Good choice of cooked to order food, not expensive either! Brunch deal was $18 each, had to queue outside for 10 minutes but to me that means they are doing something right!

With my family, we lived in the same street for about three weeks and it's safe to say we went every other day either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We loved it! Great staff, great typical American food and great price value! Best pancakes in NYC!

4 of us had a meal on Sunday afternoon good food well cooked and served by professionals orange juice on the house and the chicken noodle soup I had before my pork chops was the best ever tasted so if you want proper food at a very reasonable price get you map our and find this plac

We went to eat at the restaurant before the Broadway show The service was ok, the cleanliness of the table is mediocre minus, the waitress tried her best I ordered a chicken Caesar salad in a wrap Suddenly I felt small stones in the dish, I was very scared, I took out the stones and called the waitress who immediately said that she would not charge for the dish It is very strange and inappropriate that this is the reaction to such a sanitary hazard. I called out to the owner and this was also his indifferent response We Don't recommend eating there, health hazard

A really typical american restaurant, we ended up here by chance but it was fantastic. Food is delicious and staff is really kind!

Great choice. Traditional NY. The mixed salad with plum.tomato and chicken tasted very well. Same forcthe juices. Convenient seating.

We were looking for a place near our hotel and found a listing for the Galaxy Diner. We’re so glad we did. The food was perfect and the service impeccable. We will definitely eat here again on another trip to NYC. With so many places to try, we don’t say that about a lot of NYC restaurants.

We had breakfast at several diners but Galaxy Diner was one of the better ones. The service was great, the food was fresh and came very quickly...I just cannot fault Galaxy Diner in any way. Definitely recommended for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner

I'm a sucker for French toast and bacon with maple syrup, in fact I have it wherever and whenever we're away. This is a great traditional style American diner and service at Galaxy was quick & friendly and our breakfasts came pretty quickly. The latte coffees were spot on as was my French toast. Would have come back here again but we weren't in the area again at breakfast time.

Great little diner. We had 2 recommendations from locals to go there and it didn’t disappoint. The chicken parmigiana was the best and you’ve got to try the mozzarella sticks. Drinks - the Brooklyn beer and mojitos just yum!

Good diner located on 9th Avenue and 46th Street, better prices than most diners closer to 42nd Street, service is attentive and food is served quick.

Wow wow wow. What a find! We found this on a Sunday morning walking through Hell’s Kitchen looking for somewhere ‘local and authentic’. We found it here. The menu was sooooo extensive it took ages to decide. We loved the food and portions were huge…. The best thing was that this was frequented by locals and regulars and didn’t feel like a tourist eatery. Value was great too, with service that was just right and appropriate for this venue. So glad we decided to venture in… thank you!

Visited for breakfast. Typical diner restaurant. Lots of choice on the menu and we only looked at breakfast ! Food was really quick to arrive and was tasty, with decent sized portions. Friendly waiting staff. Good location a few blocks from Times Square with lower prices to match. Better than any overpriced chain restaurant breakfast we had.

We came here a couple of times during our business trip. The price and quality is reasonable. Staff is nice. Recommend for other guests.

I would definitely eat here agai. Would also recommend this restaurant to my travel clients. Easy walk from Times Square.

I first went here 18 years ago when we stayed at the Ramada Milford Plaza. I came back to what is now Row NYC. The Galaxy has mostly remained unchanged. New owner same menu, which is good. Service is swift and food is as good as I remember it. Great choice between healthy and indulgent. The breakfasts - eggs, bacon, sausage, toast in any any combination are excellent. The orange juice is chilled and freshly pressed, prices are reasonable and if you are at a hotel in the vicinity - the Row or Westin for example, it is worth the walk to get a far better than hotel breakfast. Staff are welcoming and friendly. You can also go bespoke with the menu if they don't do exactly what you want.

Went for late lunch before late Sunday matinee show. Service very good. Prices very reasonable. We got 4 different dishes and all were excellent. They have outdoor seating and doors/windows that fully open in warm weather. Near broadway theaters

This is a fun restaurant wit a great staff. I wish it opened earlier for breakfast. The service and food are excellent.

Good diner within walking distance of Times Square. The food is hearty and reasonably priced. Breakfast portions were too large for us to finish! Good service. If you order filter coffee, it gets refilled, which is excellent in a city where the price of coffee is generally steep. The place has a nice, comfortable atmosphere.

Back under the original ownership, Galaxy Diner has a new menu featuring high quality dishes you might expect to find in a traditional diner. However at the Galaxy they are made with only the best ingredients found at some of the most celebrated restaurants in NYC. Immediately guests realize this is delicious food -not ordinary diner fare. The price is very affordable and the portions are generous. A pleasingly flavored rigatoni bolognese dish was almost big enough for 2 people to share, with side salads and the magnificent Sullivan Street Bakery bread that comes with entrees. Deserts are once again tempting and as great as NYC itself. These are beautiful dishes that taste as good as they look, with a menu that is so wide and varied it has something for everyone. It is clear the kitchen staff takes great pride in the food they prepare. The service is excellent, with a highly experienced staff the owner personally brought to this establishment. I never had to wait for a refill, and neither will you. Hell’s Kitchen neighbors are thrilled to have our cornerstone diner back, better than ever with a quality that matches any of the best in the area.

My husband and I were looking for a nice breakfast to fill our belly’s before leaving the city. This was the perfect place! The food was delicious and you get so much, too! I definitely recommend and I’m so glad we found this place!

Our family of 4 went here last month because it was close to the hotel. They had a lot of selections to choose from on the menu (we chose wraps and hamburgers). We found the food to be good overall with good sized portions, but our server was not friendly and didn't come over to check on us.

We had breakfast here 4 mornings and not a bad meal ever. Mainly a party of six but one day a party of eight food varied from breakfast on the ranch to omelettes and my favourite was the pancakes and fresh fruit. Coffee was free flowing even the english tea was actually nice for a change. The staff were really good and nothing was to much trouble they always accommodated us even when they were busy. Prices were very reasonable considering what are hotel was charging for breakfast. Would recommend you try this diner

Huge menu with lots of choices and lots of home style comfort food. Didn’t have to wait to be seated mid-morning on Saturday of a holiday weekend. Food was good and plentiful.

Busy place, huge extensive menu the waiter kept coming back to check if we were ready to order! Banana and strawberry protein shake was lovely ! Vegetable wrap with feta and grilled veg and olives with fries - huge portion and tasty. No room for dessert but stole a spoonful of mums rice pudding ! Her main was a lamb on pita lunch special Service was quick, water and coffee was topped up regularly without needing to ask for refills. Only negative was that the bill was brought as the main dishes were cleared away but mum had changed her mind and wanted a desert.

this a great place to go for breakfast it is well priced the portion are very generous and the service is pretty quick

Stumbled across this diner on our way to the Intrepid museum. We were seated and greeted with steaming coffee. The breakfast menu had pages and pages of delicious food with plenty of veggie options. We both went for the Arizona wrap. The service was fast and the portions were huge but the food was just average.

We ate breakfast there 3 of or 4 days in NYC as it was close to the hotel. It was clean, good menu selection, fast service and reasonable prices. Not much more to ask for.

This diner has been around for years but has had a marked improvement since it has been taking over by the former staff of Giorgio's which closed on 9th Avenue.Good waiters excellent food and humongous proportions. If you're hungry this is the place to go

We were recommended by our conceirge and we weren't disappointed. It's a small little restaurant but they have it down to a science. We were quickly seated and our meal came out very quick! The food was delicious and worth every penny.

Went for breakfast, staff attentive, ordered from the special breakfast menu, food was delicious came with juice and bottomless coffee, which was topped up constantly. Good value for money, highly recommend

Fantastic food and staff. Great service too. We've been here each morning for a week and enjoyed a healthy fresh breakfast. Tonight we had dinner and the staff didn't disappoint. Thank you so much.

On holiday to NYC, found this beauty Highly recommend the galaxy diner, excellent food and lovely service! If we visit NYC this will be on our list.

Great breakfast option within walking distance from our hotel near Times Square. Laid back atmosphere, quick service and tasty food. Husband had the Wisconsin omelette which was plentiful and tasty. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich- also substantial and super tasty. The pancakes look delicious, will definitely try them next time!

Found this Restaurant after walking around looking for one in busy Times Square area.. Was upstairs and service was good and food reasonable. We were very tired after being on a train all day and it met our demands for something to eat. Reasonably price with good food..

We could not make our mind up as to what to have for diner when we came across this place With it's very large menu Of which there were some items that looked interesting So we thought we would give it a go We were welcomed in by very friendly staff We opted for lemon chicken and vegetable wrap with fries ,the meals were a good size and very nice You could tell by the decor it was a local restaurant Highly recommended

We ate here whilst in New York in Sept 2024, it was great food and brilliant service. I’d recommend if you are in the area it’s worth a visit for evening meal.

Equipped with Free WI-FI for diners, the Galaxy is a comfortable, somewhat tranquil, and sometimes packed diner. Since my first 2003 dining experience, starting with breakfast, I'm a devotee of their "baked on premises" largest, moist raisin bran and blueberry muffins served in NYC. A few years ago, I stopped modestly eating half or taking half of my muffin home. If I'm having breakfast or lunch with someone such as a client, smitten by Galaxy's enticing whole wheat pancakes, he usually orders), does not eat a portion of my bran, or blueberry muffin, another half hour might pass, before I finish my my wholesome bran muffin. For the Record: A natural, healthy bran muffin's texture is neither soft flaky, nor crumbly.. Bran's outside crust is firm, but not hard. .Enjoying bran muffins with Galaxy's seemingly gourmet coffee, is probably traditional for most people, wherever they buy muffins or pastry. However, refilling ou r"no extra costs" coffee underscores the value of buying a cup of coffee at diners, vs. paying full-price for an additional cup of coffee at "take-out" cafe counters, donut shops and some restaurants. In 1981, my bran muffin delight occurred, after buying my first natural, large healthy, muffin from an south west 44th Street, near Avenue of America's corner restaurant, downstairs from RCA'S Music. building in Manhattan. Back then, U.S' corporate secretaries and others' began their day by bringing/eating breakfast, at our desks, or a lunch room. Days after I shared half of my bran muffin with my co-worker secretary, her boss, Ralph Ablon, CEO/Chairman of Ogden's Fortune 500 Conglomerate, (at 277 Park Ave., Manhattan), expressed desire for his own bran muffins. Before I left that firm, for for several months, my boss, Stanley Frankel, VP of Public Relations for Ogden's Fortune 500 Conglomerate, became aware of my delivering bran muffins to Ablon's office, near Frankels office. Ablon paid for our muffins, about twice per week, when he worked in his office Galaxy's fast paced waiters, seldom somberly arrive at our table. Their pleasant demeanor focuses on correctly taking orders, as waiters accustomed to diners overwhelmed by Galaxy's popular large corn-beef or pastrami Reuben sandwiches, perfect for two persons or a take home half sandwich item. Seafood diners may agree that the Galaxy's popular shrimp scampi, served with potatoes or rice, and their mesclun salad or soup, and Alaskan salmon fillet, with lemon and white wine sauce are favorites. Penny ;Ala' Vodka with either vodka, or brandy sauce with chicken. rate high among diners' in this "not too loud" serene dining venue, where two large TV screens' exist, seating approx. 70 people. Their $7 wines comprise Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet and Merlot. Today, 42 years later, Galaxy's long-standing Ninth Avenue clean diner, between West 42nd and West 56th Street, and 15 years since I first arrived here, I'm curious to hear two of Galaxy's remaining owners describe Galaxy Diner's history. Since the late 1990'S, Galaxy witnessed the transformation of Ninth Avenue's Clinton Hill's/Hell Kitchen, into it's current middle-class commercial and residential district, where rents alarmingly escalated in tenements, luxury, high rise and commercial buildings.. Since Galaxy's 1970''s arrival through the mid-1999's it suceeded despite their former seven days per week, 24 hours per day operations, when Clinton's Hill's/Hell's Kitchen's Ninth Avenue's (where Super-Star Alicia Keys grew up). dangerous,West 36th to West 56th Street, Ninth Avenue's blighted sidewalks, dismal housing, struggling mom and pop businesses, was a "do not walk at night" community, for New Yorkers and tourists. Today's vibrant hustle and bustleof these 20 streets, stretching up and down Ninth Avenue, Manhattan, are often ten too crowded, with heavy foot and mobile traffic for restaurants, clubs, boutiques, medical facilities, grocery stores, etc. By Irma Tyus-Mitchell

Walking from our hotel to a harbor tour we found the Galaxy Diner. We were looking for a place to have breakfast, and boy was this perfect! Fast service, friendly waiters, decent prices, and good food! A winning combination all the way around. I’d certainly return to Galaxy for breakfast.

We had breakfast many times here now on a couple of visits to New york, the breakfast is the best we've found!! Pancakes are amazing! breakfast burrito fab! Always polite staff, never long to wait for food or waiter to come. Will use again if we are lucky enough to visit NY again!

Nice and good restaurant. Very good service by the staff. The food was delicious. I will recommend this restaurant.

We are late lunch at this place in our first day in NYC. It was recommended by our hotel at Times square. Very good start! Tried the Tasty buffalo burgers!! And some other classic American dishes such as meatloaf, chicken quesadillas, mozzarella sticks and pancakes with bacon. Their lemonades were yummy ! Very nice service too We highly recommend this place!

Cozy place Excellent cuisine and friendly staff Price for two complete American-style breakfasts at truly advantageous prices

It is not a franchise, not an all-over-the-world-food-chain...it is a family-owned classical dinner: and we love that! Since our first visit more than 15 years, it is the point of breakfast for us. Omelettes, pancakes and all the classics American breakfast overs. For lunch and dinner Hamburger and food like that. Good quality, nice setting and fast service. Onward for the next 15 years for us!

My wife and I were in NYC with another couple. On Thursday, December 28, 2023 we had a big day ahead, so we all went out for breakfast here. It was only about a 4 block walk from where we were staying. Very nice ambiance here, good old diner atmosphere, but they also have a full bar (seems most NYC diners do). Service was very friendly and prompt. Good coffee. I had the Corned Beef Hash breakfast, alotta food!! Prices are very reasonable for NYC. I do recommend this place for breakfast.

My husband aand I just retirned from a few days in New York City. It seemed that most places for breakfast were small grab and go places. We were liucky to discover the Galaxy diner through tripadvisor. Delicious food, fast and attentive service and very clean. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and their smoothies and mimosas were popular with the morning crowd.Went their for breakfast twice. egg and cheeses sandwich on a croissant was to die for. Canadian bacon sweet and delicious. Homefries were spicy and filling.

Very nice and tasty burgers, very friendly staff!! Just try it!! We were very sorry we couldn't try the cakes they offered for dessert because we were so full of the burgers but they looked really tastefull, so save place for dessert :-)

Really good reasonably priced diner. Service was good and they serve a really good cup of tea which I found a little rare in NYC.

My husband and I are glad we chose Galaxy diner for one of our breakfast place. The service was very good and attentive. The coffee was great. Our waffles were served promptly and were very tasty! The price was good as well. Highly recommend!

We spent a week on holidays in New York and spent most of our mornings here for breakfast! The staff were so welcoming and so attentive! The food is fab, you will do well to clean your plate as the portions are very generous! Loved it and will hopefully be back one day!

Staff warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Service prompt and watched staff work together to clean tables, bring coffee and take orders. Great food as well. Yay to gluten free options without being looked at like I was crazy for asking. Remembered to separate the toast from my plate. Outside seating available as well.

Our family had breakfast at Galaxy following our arrival in New York on May 24th. It was recommended by a staff member at the Marriott where we were staying in Times Square. We wanted to eat at a place recommended by the locals that had good food, small and intimate environment, with reasonable prices. The breakfast did not disappoint. The ambiance was that of a local diner that served the comfort food you love for breakfast. Between our family we had their Belgian waffles, pancakes, Amarillo omelette, Arizona breakfast wrap, eggs, bacon and sausage, juice and coffee. All the food we love for breakfast and were able to sit and enjoy it in a relaxed manner away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The food and service was great. I would return again if in the area and recommend it if you want a relaxed breakfast meal you will enjoy.

We wandered over after our B'way show and found the Galaxy. It was a great option for a quick, post-theatre bite. My Chef's salad was huge and had the most unique presentation I've seen. Son's pasta was also well done. Classic diner decor, but the galaxy "space" theme was cool. Not crowded so a good choice for post-theatre that takes you slightly away from the Times Square mob scenes.

During my short visit to NYC I was on a quest for the perfect pie a la mode. This restaurant delivered - a delicious apple pie, with vanilla ice cream and cream as well. Friendly service and a relaxed vibe.

Cozy busy place with good breakfast items - local atmosphere. My avocado sandwich was ok. The bread could have been toasted a tiny bit - then it would have been perfect :-)

This diner has a huge menu, lovely food and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. They even provided a salad with mains so you basically got a starter included. Would recommend.

A brilliant New York diner that does not fail to deliver. Found this gem at the end of our trip. Went for dinner and then returned the next day for lunch. Lovely food. Great service. Everything you expect from The Big Apple!!

This restaurant like many others in New York City is small. We had a party of eight and seated fairly quickly. It was super busy but our food came out fairly fast without mistakes. The pancakes are good. My omelette was just okay.

The Galaxy Diner is one of the hidden gems in Manhattan. Located on 46th and 9th Ave, the food is delicious, and the prices are even better. We go to the theater a lot and our go to place to eat is the Galaxy Diner. The staff is always friendly and there usually isn't a wait. Don't let the decor fool you into thinking the food is just diner food. The chef's at this place create some of the most tasty dishes I have ever had. It's a don't miss when in Manhattan.

Fantastic neighborhood location & DELICIOUS food! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We sat outside and it was lovely. The Nutella pancakes were terrific! They have fresh squeezed juices, a great variety and super tasty. Most “normal” prices by far, of anywhere we’ve eaten here. Super affordable. Great!

We visited this place about 3 times on the bounce. A friendly place with plenty of staff so you don't sit there twiddling your thumbs all day. Everything was good, although slightly disappointed they didn't have red velvet cake on the menu. I mean, who in the world doesn't like red velvet cake?

If you want a reasonably priced breakfast place in the Times Square area, Galaxy fits the bill. Solidly good food and a bottomless cup of coffee make this a good choice instead of the better known spots that command higher prices. In the few times that I have been there, the service has always been good, with a short wait time for my meal.

We stopped by Galaxy Diner for breakfast, the place was pretty busy but for good reason as the food was amazing. I had the whole grain pancakes which were delicious. Also the meal was surprisingly cheap, 10/10 would recommend.

My favorite diner... had fabulous breakfast here every morning just round corner to Broadway great place to chat to locals and staff look after you The real deal of authentic New York diner .Thanks

Was in NYC for the Saturday 3 weeks before Christmas. With a zillion tourists and most places not taking reservations we felt "stuck" ending up here. What a pleasant surprise. Just a block or two from Broadway, the prices were great and the food was excellent. We each ordered pasta dishes that were excellent! Seemed to be a homemade sauce which was great and the chicken soup was exceptional. Yes, plain chicken soup and I'm telling you, it was THAT good. You aren't going to find an extensive wine list, etc., but if you want good food at a good price with fast and friendly service in a great location, this is perfect. I'm in NYC a few times a year and will definitely be going back here.

I’ve been coming here for decades. Best breakfast nr Times Square. Great menu and great price and service. Lately they have brunch offerings on weekends with drinks. Strongly recommend.

This Galaxy Diner is a great place for coffee and breakfast. In general, the menu offers a variety of options.

New year in New York with friends and we found this excellent diner for breakfast! Toast, eggs, relish bacon, try the croissant w filling, pancakes w fruit, smoothies and much more...

Thank you for your amazing food and service. We were on holiday from England and were staying at the Belvedere hotel nearby. We visited three times, twice for an evening meal and once for a breakfast. We were a party of seven. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food choice was amazing and very generous portion sizes. When we visited to get breakfast on our last day, 10th of September, it was busy, however we were quickly seated and the service was amazing. The coffee is great too. Steak and eggs was fantastic. I would highly recommend Galaxy Diner. Thank you for making out NYC vacation amazing ❤️. The Warren family, Washington, Tyne & Wear, England.

For the first time in New York, we stopped for lunch at this diner: at first we weren't convinced but we actually had a great time! Very good food, typical American style, and friendly staff. Approved.

A great diner, located in a nice location. The diner have an excellent service and menu! I espeically reccomand the buffalo wings!

Had a brilliant breakfast here. Prices are good for the area and the service is great too. Traditional diner well worth a visit.

Don’t BOTHER with this awful spot! Remarkably bad choice, really rude servers, worst food in Hells’ Kitchen! Our dogs wouldn’t even eat the food! Put a really bad spin on an otherwise great experience in the theatre district 👎

The food and service were good here but the place is in need of a refresh. It's in a good position, right on the corner of a main street.

Not much else to say. The service and team were attentive. The menu was extensive, but our dinner entrees disappointed. Leg of lamb was actually sliced lamb meat, very well done, maybe too well, broccoli served cooked but cool, Kay’s Chicken Marsala was a decent chicken breast, hammered, but the sauce might have been Stouffer’s. Same broccoli. I’m trusting that breakfast and lunch, with the egg menu and the burger menu, are more promising. But a pass for dinner in Hell’s Kitchen where there is so much available.

So walking back to 46th on 8th from 12th and 46th we stumbled across this diner.. lovely staff surprisingly quiet. Food good reasonable price pinot grigo was $7.95 cheapest we found yet. Had a pastrami Reuben husband had turkey Reuben we split had half each.. wow what a taste and so filling served with idaho (skin on) fries would highly recommend it.menu extensive but something for everyone

A busy but fantastic place for brunch. Great menu, great portions and absolutely fantastic staff. Thank you for making this Englishman feel so welcomed! We also met a local who while having brunch who visits every day. This proves that it is a great place to eat. We very much look forward to coming back in 2024.

I have never seen such an amazing selection of food for breakfast. Cater for everyone - healthy egg whites scrambled eggs, decaff, herbal drinks and omg what a selection. Turkey, avocado, fruit bowls, steak and eggs. Breakfast ranges from 10 dollars upwards and it sets you off for the day and all drinks are refillable. Food is to die for really! i had health platter - egg whites scrambled eggs, potato hash, turkey, fruit bowl - 13 dollars - turkey breast, poached eggs on rye bread and it was 10 dollars but massive portion - amazing bowl of yogurt, with banana and walnuts but enough for two We went virtually every day and think open from 7 or 7.30 - need to check

Dinner during the week with family. If you're looking to get off the beaten path and out of the craziness of Times Square, this is where the locals go for cheap eats. Staff is very friendly and service is good. Food is nothing special but it's not bad. The biggest attraction to me is that it's New York at its finest without having to deal with the crowds or over-priced food.

My friend and I ate here twice during our stay. There was a lot of choice on the menu. The food was very good and reasonably priced for Manhattan. The wine was good too. The staff were friendly.

We visited on the strength of the reviews and were not disappointed. Our 2 boys said the pancakes were some of the best they had tasted and were the size of a dinner plate, you get 3! I had omelette filled with sausage onion etc that came with potatoes and had a choice of different breads to have toasted, I tried pumpanickle, delicious. My husband had cooked breakfast and enjoyed it. The regular coffee is good and they refill as often as you like. The dinner is clean and the staff very attentive.

Old food. Expensive place. Service just OK. I have informed the waiter about the fact that the potatoes are old and uneatable. He didnt do anything about it. We were disappointed.

I’m in NY once a month and this is my go to spot. Great location on 9th Ave yet not right in the midst of all the Times Square craziness. It’s a neighborhood type diner where you’ll always see locals. They have an extensive menu with so much to chose from that everyone can find something. The food is always good, the service is always great and the prices are very reasonable by NYC standards.

The service is very fast and the food is fine but not fancy. Seems to be a place where a lot of actors-to-be like to eat.

Absolutely wonderful meals here. We stayed here for 4 nights in New York. Lovely independent diner with amazing food and good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend coming here. Inexpensive compared to other establishments and catered for my husband’s fussy eating habits with good humour

had a brunch here, the food wasn't good at all and the staff came across quite rude, many better options in New York, well even in this block.

Great value for money. Welcome and prompt service. Madame took pasta , it was very hearty. Me I took quesadillas, I feasted. I recommend.

I tried the pasta, because it's always a "confort food" where you know you're gonna like wath you ordered... BUT I SHOULDN'T!!! THe baby ribs, my husband ordered them, they were the best ribs I had never ate in my life!!!

Busy local diner in Hells Kitchen area with both locals and travelers. Food was fast and plentiful. Friendly staff. Had banana pecan wheat pancakes. Came with coffee and juice. Just under $20. Big menu including breakfast milkshakes.

We were a large group, were able to accommodate us. Quite impressed with the food and service. Would be a go-to if back in town.

Fantastic little find amazing food always brought out hot and really cheap compared to other places and the staff are lovely can't fault anything with this place. Ate in others places they where expensive and the food not as good as galaxy's so we just kept coming back to this place never disappointed whatever we ordered.

It was ok but nothing special - the inside ceiling is like a starshield - American breakfast with a Mexican touch - prices are medium

Would highly recommend this place. We had breakfast here everyday and it was outstanding! Great value and tasted delicious. What’s not to love!

Out hotel’s restaurant was closed last minute and so we were directed here. The were very accommodating and offered is free coffee and juice. Breakfast was good and tasty and staff were friendly. Id highly recommend.

Great food and generous servings, and huge menu. Host is really lovely. We had the ribs and lasagne and couldn’t eat it all! Easy to find and frequented by locals..always a good sign.

We stayed in Hell’s Kitchen and discovered the Galaxy Diner. It’ll be a love affair for the ages. Really good food, excellent service, comfortable, casual, cool on a really hot and humid day, and an excellent choice of breakfast options. The cashier was observant, kind, and honest enough to return to me an extra $100 bill that had stuck to another bill... I was very appreciative!

Quick and friendly service. The eggs benedict my husband had looked amazing and the portion was massive. I had a really sad monte cristo which came open and full of very cheap ham and really unappetizing looking turkey I couldnt eat it. I hate turkey and it wasn't stated on the menu. We were probably in an out within half an hour. Which is great if you're in a rush.

Tried this diner as it was only 2 blocks away from hotel (times square) was so impressed with the service, food and value. We ended up being frequent diners... get a breakfast for 2 including coffee for under $20!!!

Our first breakfast in the city. We received a warm welcome and quick service. A real classic experience. Beautiful food at more than reasonable prices. Definitely recommend this place. Nine of us with kids . For a family of five cost $21 amazing! Thank you we will be back.

Simple, homey spot with great food! We loved our brunch and mine was much better than some breakfasts we had in NYC costing twice as much. Really good service and quaint outdoor seating. We will be back!

Stopped here for breakfast with the family - 8 of us and they managed to squeeze us in. Both food and service were great. Can highly recommend

My wife and I were looking for a good breakfast place and came across this gem. Food was excellent along with the atmosphere. Recommend to anyone going to NYC to eat as it was very good with great service. Save time looking for another as this one won’t disappoint!!! Would recommend for individuals, couples and families.

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Music was ambient. The food was spot on! Fresh speeded juice. . . Well done and see you again.

We stopped here during a visit to NYC. This is technically in Hells Kitchen. I would recommend this to my travel clients. Good atmosphere.

Very unwelcoming! Short older lady hair pulled back, was so stern and unfriendly. Ordered food was as if she could not be bothered! Just seemed to be in a terrible mood and it showed. Would not return due to this. Food was mediocre. Went to Old Johns Luncheonette yesterday and it was first class….go there NOT Galaxy Diner .

We came here for breakfast following a recommended on a thread from the hotel we stayed at just down the road. So pleased we found this place. A warm welcoming diner in NYC. Good food, service and coffee. We have breakfast every morning on our 4 day stay. Just such a lovely feel to the place. Can't recommend highly enough. A highlight in my second visit to the city.

This place was just along the street from our hotel, and we ate here on two mornings. The food was just fine: good over-easy eggs and crispy bacon. Coffee was fine. Gets really busy as this is a popular place. The waiting staff are too busy to be chatty but the welcome at the front desk was warm and sincere. Recommended.

On the advice of friends, we stopped in this typical diner near Times Square. Expectations were met and we had an excellent lunch based on typical American dishes at affordable prices for NY! Advised!

I have hesitated for years to write this review but time is up. Up the street is Westway which is a FAR superior mostly breakfast diner for largely tourists. This morning the line was just too long at Westway so I thought, ok, I can go to Galaxy. It has been so long since I have been there, but I forgot I was never going back, but they are the ONLY place that serves Grits and I am southern. Let's make a long story short. I order the Huevos Rancheros. I was the worst of my whole life. It should come off the menu. Now I have eaten dish this in Mexico and San Diego, so I know how good it can be and should be. As for Grits, you simply CANNOT put zero salt in when you cook them, else it is almost important to salt them to your taste afterwards. And the cost of my HR was robbery for the quality too. As for service, excellent as always but not quite as excellent as Westway. Portions usually very good, bottomless coffee. Extensive menu. I unfortunately always wind up saying, why did I not go to Westway and simply endure the usually still not so long wait? I have never had lunch or dinner at Galaxy here so I cannot speak for that, only this is largely a breakfast diner. Also, I am very picky about seating. The tables and booths against the walls are uncomfortable. Westway is just more inviting, period.

Our hotel recommended Galaxy for breakfast. We weren't that taken from the outside, but it just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book, as it was lovely. We were seated quickly, service was prompt and the food was plentiful & delicious. Can highly recommend for a good value for money breakfast.

Very nice little diner, hearty and delicious dishes, a big plus on the Cobb salad which is HUGE and delicious! A few minutes from Times Square.

I come to NY frequently and a year or so ago I stopped here for breakfast. Since then I come here every time I’m in NY. it’s about 2 blocks from where I stay and I can say enough good things about the service, food and prices. I have never had a bad meal here ( I’ve eaten here twice today) and all of the staff bends over backwards for you. They even have electrical outlets at some of the tables and if you need to charge your phone they’re more than happy to let you use them. I highly recommend giving it a try.

We tried this diner early in our trip and went back there a few times. It was good value for money, the food was tasty and served hot and the staff were pleasant and friendly.

Stopped here for breakfast and the food was excellent. The coffee was served fresh and hot. The waiter stopped by often to refresh the cups. The food showed up quickly and hot. No complaints at all.

Great place to have a good breakfast for a reasonable price in NYC. Nice menu of reasonably priced breakfast specials.the food was all very good and cooked to our liking. Very good coffee. The staff are all very nice and friendly.

Just in NYC for Christmas, stayed in Hell's Kitchen. Freezing weather for us Floridians and found Galaxy close by our hotel. Warm, quick service even though the place was packed. Good food, huge menu, great prices. Service was great, coffee was good and plentiful and we actually returned for a 2nd time. Highly recommended.

I wanted to try a typical American diner and we picked this one based on the menu we saw online. The place may not look anything special or flash from the outside but don’t be put off by that. The service and the food was amazing. I had the pancakes (lovely and fluffy with generous toppings) and my husband had an omelette (huge portion). We both had chocolate cake and a milkshake afterwards. I’m not usually keen on milkshakes but I loved this! Would have loved to try more flavours but was already so full. Definitely recommend this place.
In one word: wow
Wow The food, the service and, the dinner experience were great. I ate an appetizer and a hamburger and enjoyed each meal.
