The food is excellent here. We ate lunch two days in a row. Fish and chips, braised kale salad, and a huge corn beef &cabbage. My vegan friend loved the salad. We heard the pub gets rockin with lots of loud music. But the musicians are World class according to our Irish concierge.

Colin IS Garveys! This is a hidden gem right next to our hotel. The food was great and the largest choice of booze I’ve ever seen! Downside was the owner sitting at the bar not helping when they were short staffed and really busy and just ignoring customers who approached him ! The other 2 staff members also struggled with English which wasn’t great but Colin is the Irish jewel here. He runs the place and is an absolute star! Great choice of food and live music all reasonably priced which is a bonus. Visit if you’re in the area

Hidden gem in Times square , great food , live music , great value and the personal touch by the owner Johnny he was fabulous. We had a wonderful evening in Garveys Irish bar , a place to visit when in New York you will not be disappointed. This was a top class experience for all the family .

Such a shame our evening ended as it did. We had food (was nice), music (good) and drinks. But then when we asked for the bill, a blonde women appeared with the card machine. Asked “cash or card”? Bit odd as we had not seen the bill. She stood there and we said, “can we have the bill Please”? Reluctantly she got us a bill which had a $30 gratuity on it. However the card machine was asking if we wanted to addd more “tip”? She put the machine down and disappeared. Came back smelling of weed and insisted we pay the gratuity added to bill. All week we have tipped in cash. Felt like we were being ripped off as tourists. We could have ended up paying double gratuity which would have been almost $60. The guy running the bar “Alan” argued, was rude and said “you are in Times Square!!”. We’ve eaten there all week and never had such a shocking experience. Spoilt our evening and experience of what was Supposed to be a a great Irish bar 😢😢 we were there with our teen. 3 of us. Think they are used to ripping off tourists who have had a few drinks. Be careful - CHECK your bill. We always pay a tip, never have a problem with it, the girl who served us earlier (dark hair) was great but the experience with Alan and the bill has really put us off this bar.

Very nice pub. Right in Manhattan near Times Square. Great beer selection, live music and really delicious food. It's worth a visit!

Garveys has become my go to spot. Everything I’ve order to date has been delicious. Service is fast and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Location is central to Times Square. Every time I’ve gone there has been live music and there is a great atmosphere. Menus have prices listed for all items and drinks. My personal favorite is the chicken sandwich. My friend loves the Irish sausage and chips with curry sauce.

Dropped in here for a bite and a pint to wash it down. Great venue with good food. A good pint of Guinness to go either way the grub.

I always check Tripadvisor reviews when looking for places to eat in NYC. Unfortunately, this time I didn't do my homework to read the reviews on this place because at the last minute we decided to stop in for a quick drink one evening after seeing a show and before catching the train home. $113 for 3 coffee drinks, ($22 just for one!) a piece of cheesecake & a bowl of ice cream!! The menu without prices on it should've been a a huge red flag, but I didn't think anything of it. Buyer beware!

Really cool spot near Times Square. Cool modern look and vibe with the soul of an Irish pub Recommend

Food was good- well priced. Guinness was like the old country and the young lass from Dublin singing was a treat to the ears. Definitely a warm Irish welcome for a couple of Paddy’s on tour in the Big Apple. The owner offered us free Turkey sandwiches next day if we wanted to kill a few our until our flight home. A real gent.

Went to a Broadway show on a Sunday afternoon and was looking for a place near the theatre district that was not a tourist trap. When my friend and I saw the sign for an Irish pub, we thought we had fallen upon a hidden gem in the heart of tacky Times Square. We liked the live music, and it appeared to be a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the price fix menu which included salad, entree and dessert for 45.00. We split the entree between us. We also had two drinks each and the shepherds pie empanada appetizer. The spaghetti and meatballs entree was barely edible. The only positive was the cheesecake, which was delicious. When our bill was calculated at 145.00, I couldn’t believe it. I’ve eaten at high end places that were less. This was not included the 28.00 tip on the credit card. This seems to be a place that takes advantage of gullible tourists. Beware.

Wonderful location in Times Square next to 1 theater and the other across the street. They currently have a ten percent discount with show ticket or Play Bill. Shepard’s pie was made with lamb and very good. Fish and Chips were hit and fresh. Stuffed chicken was very good. Hamburger was very good but bun was either toasted or stale. As a pub you just need to request your check when ready to go. We enjoyed hard cider on tap

Nice little pub where we stopped off for a lunch break. We both had sausage and mash which was tasty. Staff were friendly and approachable and food was served quickly. We had the opportunity to scan and pay which was good, saving having to wait for the bill etc.

Amazing atmosphere in this pub , great buzz . Excellent live music . Brilliant food . Great service and sound servers, Would Recomend the Irish breakfast pizza in particular ! Definitely a must try !

What a spot for some dinner and a few drinks. Great place, staff (Johnny what a man) and a lovely pint aswell! Will be back next time I’m in New York

Garvey's is the place to be! We recently took a group to NYC and every night after our group settled in their rooms, the company staff would go grab a drink at the pub next to our hotel, Garvey's. Alan (or Allen) took care of us the whole week! He was a blast and his service was excellent. The drinks are great and the food was fantastic. 100% recommend checking it out, if not for anything but the sharp wit of the myth, the legend, ALAN!!! :) I will be back, you can count on it!

Great pub in a prime location. Open from 7am to 4am and serving food until 2am. Staff all polite and helpful. Really enjoyed their hospitality. Live music most days. Food is traditional pub fare and which was a warm welcome. Clientele range from Irish & UK expats to holidaymakers and locals. Definitely recommended if in midtown around 41st.

In New York for the first time and stumbled across this gem. Oliver was very helpful with tip and tricks within the city. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

DO NOT EAT HERE. We were absolutely disgusted. They had no food that we ordered. I ended up ordering chicken pot pie which was totally uncooked. My husband ordered cornbeef and cabbage. They brought him uncooked fries because they had no potatoes and one big lump of uncooked cabbage it was gross. My friend ordered a clubhouse with mayo and they brought it dry and told her they had no mayo. They had no vegetables. It was actually embarrassing...we ended up leaving and going somewhere else for supper

Highly recommend Garveys irish pub! Myself and some friends visited during our stay in New York. Then Food was delicious and The staff were fantastic especially the Irish girl Annamarie she looked after us impeccably so helpful and made us feel so welcome. Will definitely visit again

Best part of Irish bars is the welcoming feel. I like the food a lot and they have a good selection of liquor. Everyone is welcome.

I went there late night with my partner. the bill came too $41.49 which I purchased with my credit card . The bartender so young and cute closed the tab. Then I order one more drink which was $12.44 I had given him $8.00 until he told me it was $12.44 I gave him a $20 bill he returned my change but upon arriving back to Florida I saw a seperate charge for $12.44, not sure what he did, but hopefully this isnt happening frequently. I still haven't recvd a response.

Great eclectic menu, something for everyone. Solid tap offerings. Super friendly service. I'll definitely be back!

The best Irish pub that we visited in NYC ! Fabulous food and excellent atmosphere , kind staff . Great live music Would definitely recommend !

Wonderful dining experience for the whole family. My husband and sons enjoyed watching the Jets game. It’s a great place to catch a game. My husband and I plan to return to listen to live music at the bar. They have live music several nights a week. I don’t know of anywhere else where you can get a $10 children’s dinner with a drink and dessert. Great find in the center of the universe!!

Great drinks and better food. Classic Irish pub with a modern ambiance fit for watching a game with friends, date night drinks, or dinner with the family. Can’t speak highly enough about this place.

Came for the food, which was great but never mind the food….the music….Allen Gogarty was brilliant!, fab night, great musician great range of tunes

I was travelling solo for business and stayed at a hotel nearby. It’s a great place to grab a beer and some time. Allan is a great guy, and very personable. Bud Light on tap for the duration 👍🏻👍🏻🤣 It’s great as it’s just the space we all need to have some quiet time away from Times Square at times.. Loved it visiting Garvey’s.

I almost didn’t want to eat this when it came out it looked so good. It was just* as good tasting as it was looking. Best quesadilla I’ve had in nyc.

A taste of my trips to Ireland. Alan was all things Irish, and I am here for it. Loved feeling apart of his Irish welcome. I had the Guinness Stew. The gravey was good and the meat tender. Wish I had taken a pic. However, I was hungry, and it was gone before I thought to do a review. Love music man toed it all in. Felt like I was home back in Ireland. My home away from home.

New spot that is perfect for pre or post theater when you just want a sold meal, some good drinks and none of the pretentiousness of some surrounding choices or the chain places. I had The Steve Sandwich which was a perfectly blacked thin breast with a light layer of sauce, thin sliced tomato and fresh lettuce. The proportions were spot on! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was very friendly. If you're seeing Shucked or other fun Broadway fare, this is the spot for you.

Great dinner, great pint. Headed to Garvey’s prior to seeing SMASH at the IMPERIAL THEATRE. Had the seared scallops, with a pint of Guinness. The scallops were perfect texture and taste. The Guinness actually tasted better than I’m accustomed to which was a pleasant surprise. Not used to noticing a significant difference between pubs, but it was. Great way to start my early St Patrick’s Day weekend.

Great service and really good Irish comfort food. Highly recommend the shepherds pie and beef stew. Nice quiet location with full bar and menu.

Great drinks cold and service was friendly and fast. Alan gogarty the musician on that night was entertaining and enjoyable will come back
