Warm environment. White tablecloths. Dishes are saucy and sauces are very saucy. Sort of obliterated taste of my fish. I had salmon. The fish got lost in the sauce. The arugula salad was overly dressed Good food beneath all the sauces and dressing.

The owner takes time to join you at the table and update you on the resturant. The food is always so good.

Great dining experience! One of my best dinners in a year. Homemade pasta, perfectly prepared veal, inspeing desserts . . found for late dinner on a Tuesday evening. Professional, knowledgable, attentive staff. . All made for a great experience. Will be back on my next trip to FIDI.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. A fine classical Italian restaurant. Service and food very good; I would come back here.

We were staying nearby and thought we'd give it a try. The food was excellent. Service attentive but they don't rush you. I had the penne a la vodka and had them add chicken. Lovely. Ended the meal with an outstanding cannoli. Would definitely eat here again.

The staff was very attentive to our requests for a quiet setting and large table. The food was excellent and prepared perfectly. The only bad feedback was ordering an Irish Coffee and it coming out as an Iced Coffee.. Not sure about that one...

Hidden away but a gem in the heart of the financial district. Excellent wine, food and service makes this an evening to remember.

We stumbled on this restaurant on a chilly spring night walking around the financial area of lower Manhattan. Prompt and welcoming service, we were persuaded to have a small entree salad, well dressed with terrific bread on Villeroy and Boch side plates. Scallopini and the best ever fillet Mignon on the bone followed with a shared dessert and coffee. We shared an excellent Napa valley Merlot on the owners recommendation. It was also the night of the big Mayweather Pacquino fight and we watched the organise take out for 50. Around $US270 for 2.

I was visiting Manhattan and my daughter lived close to this restaurant. We were Looking forward to a nice Italian meal and were disappointed when we were told we could split an entrée. Our original idea was that we would share appetizer, main course and desert. At the end of the meal, the waiter offered to take our photo and we accepted Needless to say we wont be frequenting this place

Fine dining and the prices reflect it. Beautiful interior; much better than before hurricane sandy. Food was delicious and they were very accommodating. I had the gnocchi with tomato cream sauce which was not on the menu but let me order it that way. Calamari was cooked perfectly and a nice wine by the glass selection. I would go back if I am looking for another fine dining experience.

Located in the Financial District of Downtown Manhattan, this restaurant is nestled in amongst some uninspiring buildings. Unfortunately, whilst the food was not bad I found it a bit uninspiring too. Pretty traditional style Italian with not a huge amount of flair. The service was a bit gruff too. The decor is fine and would suit a range of types of dinner, although the hard surfaces tend to bounce around the noise a bit. The beer (Brooklyn Lager) was good however - much better than when drunk from the bottle.

Booked last minute and so pleased we visited- walked past many times but never been in. Warmly welcomed by the Maitre'd who was so helpful with the menu and the specials available. I had the fresh Burrata and San Danielle ham which was really fresh and tasty. Followed this with Jumbo Shrimp in chili tomato sauce which were perfect. My colleague though had crab ravioli which was simply superb- I am definitely having this next time I visit!! So pleased I ate here at last.

I just arrived in NYC and my hotel recommended Giardino D'oro for great Italian food. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. The hostess was very friendly. The decor was very nice and soothing. Just what the doctor ordered after a day of traveling. The waiter Valentino served me the entire evening. He recommended the French Martini. OMG!!!! That was the best martini I have ever had. Then he recommended the Vitello alla Francese. Thats veal with lemon butter and white wine. It came with broccoli and 2 potato wedges. The meat was tender & the meal was very filling. Valentino recommended a pasta with red sauce, egg plant & mozzarella cheese. The entire meal was fabulous. You must stop by. The service is 5 star.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Very accommodation. The food was good as were the desserts. We had steaks and pasta. Both were good. Little expensive including the wine. Waiter was nice and helpful but directed you to the more expensive options. I would go back

We celebrated our rehearsal dinner at Giardino d'Oro and we were thrilled with the entire experience. Benny walked us through the whole process and took care of us from start to finish. The dinner itself was flawlessly executed by the staff led by Valentino our head waiter whose attention to detail made certain that 22 individually ordered meals were delivered exactly at the same time piping hot and tasty. We ate in the fantastic wine room downstairs, which was the perfect private space for our group. The food was excellent, at a price better than we expected and even our guests with special needs (gluten free, vegan and vegetarian) were very happy with their meals. We highly recommend Giardino d'Oro!

Four of us just wandered into this restaurant about 7 pm without a reservation and were immediately seated in a nice location. The wait staff offered excellent and attentive service and great Italian cuisine. Pasta entrees were low $20 and meat started in higher $20. Fair prices for Manhattan. No complaints from us. Will return.

I enjoy this restaurant and go there most times when I am staying in downtown NYC. It is not cheap but not as expensive as many. They have a bar with a TV which caters to bar patrons who like sports. I don't find it interferes with my enjoyment. The menu is varied not just Italian and the senior staff have been the same for at least the last ten years. Cloth napkins, good service. Wines can be a bit pricy, with a fairly high mark-up. I would recommend it.

Very good service - the owner seems to know many regulars. Service very attentive. The complementary plate of peppers, cheese, olives, etc was a nice touch. Nice selection of salads, pastas, other entrees. Everything was delicious.

Nice meal at this downtown regional Italian restaurant. Being twelve people we had the opportunity to dine in the wine room. A Well appointed atmosphere, the private wine room is nice intimate space for a small to medium size group. We ordered a variety apps and entrees and everything was very good. A few stand out items were the strip steak and managed olives and cheese and peppers. ( caution: peppers are very hot) my wife had a rough 15 minutes. Overall a very nice meal the Dover sole was not amazing and was over saturated with butter and bread crumbs. But that’s the only glitch. Service was high end and pleasant. A little pricey but this is NYC and the food quality was up there. I can recommend Giardino D’oro with confidence. Just a note on price : as mentioned we were twelve people and with apps and entrees and 2 bottles of good wine the bill over $1,000 dollars. About $90 pp.

We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. The staff was very attentive and the complimentary antipasto dish was a nice surprise. The Penne Ala Volka entree was excellent as well as the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The only disappointment was that the waiter didn't refill my iced tea. The prices for a NYC Italian restaurant are reasonable. The location is a little hidden and we had to use our phone to find it. I feel it is worth a try.

I went to the restaurant as part of a large business group. There is a private wine room that is a little tight, yet pleasant. The appetizers were phenomenonal. Starters included sliced salami, cheese, olives and hot peppers. Next course included crisp calamari and the best eggplant rollatini I have had anywhere. Could have made that my dinner, hands down. Entrees were mixed. My colleague had the strip steak, which was as good as what I am used to in top steak houses. A bonus was that it was sliced, especially great for a business meeting. My entree was disappointing - which caused the drop from 5 to 4. I ordered a traditional chicken francese. The chicken was borderline overcooked and a little rubbery and the sause was bland. Couldnt really taste any lemon. Otherwise great night.

Tucked away in NYC's Financial District, the little gem of a restaurant is just about perfect for high quality Italian food and service. The ambiance is just right, not too overdone and not underdone. The noise level was low. The service and food were wonderful - we have Gnocchi Bolognese and a whole Branzino that was fileted tableside.

Walked in for a very late lunch; plenty of tables and generally friendly waiters. Old school decor and food; an enjoyable experience all around.

Top proposals, well done We asked for the daily proposals and got a few recommendations: scampi’s and diver sole That what what we have chosen! Great result. With a glass of sauvignon blanc, a great lunch! Thank you, even after the simple starter, a few slides of proscuitto arrived just before main dish

This is a very good Italian restaurant . The food is 5 star and so is the service. It is Northern Italian food . It has a great selection to chose from.

Benny was an incredible waiter. Great calamari app Great eggplant prosciutto app. Great seafood pasta entree. Great dessert. Highly recommend.

My family and I had dinner at Giardino D'Oro and really enjoyed ourselves. The service was friendly and skilled. The restaurant offers terrific homemade pastas.

This atmospheric restaurant nestled in lower Manhattan has it all. The ambiance takes you to Italy whether dining in the comfortable dining room or for a special occasion in the wine cellar. The service is incredibly attentive and flows from the top. Benny is the owner and insures a "d'oro" standard experience for all. The food is always 5 star whether selecting standard italian favorites or one of the outstanding specials. Case in point, during a recent visit I had a halibut dish that was the best I've ever had even when compared to those during a trip to Alaska. For those of you that haven't visited since Sandy, Benny took the decor to a new level during the remake caused by flooding. This is a can't miss experience and don't forget to top off the meal with some shots of Grappa.

I had never heard of this restaurant, and wish I had. It was excellent. The restaurant was not crowded - it was early in the week - but I imagine it is not too crowded later in the week either. The food was very well prepared. Order from the menu or create something that you're just in the mood to eat. Nothing was too much trouble for the wait staff. I will definitely go back.

I was there for lunch with my colleagues and everybody loved the food and the service . Definitely will be back.

Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Food tasted like cafeteria food. I expected to see Gordon Ramsey show up at any minute. We went at 7pm on a Saturday night. They must get a big weekday crowd because they were DEAD.

My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and they all had authentic Italian accents! The staff did well at being attentive without being disruptive during our romantic dinner. Best of all- the food!! Free bread and antipasto at the beginning, delicious and enough to get your appetite going. We each ordered wine, and both types were delicious. I had the special, a mushroom Ravioli (pasta made in-house) with a truffle cream sauce that I will be dreaming about. My husband had the veal Saltimbocca Romano, and it was also very tasty. We had to try dessert and the tiramisu and Zecchino did not disappoint! The price was expected for the atmosphere and food quality. Definitely a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion!

never disappoints. Staff very professional, from coat check, to servers, to bartender, right down the line. never too much. the menu, both regular fare and specials are always delicious, we had a veal, chicken and salmon dishes and there was nothing on the plates afterwards. all diners rated this a 5. I'm surprised this place isn't more crowded (70% full) at lunch, perhaps leftover gloom from Hurricane Sandy has chased diners elsewhere. Be assured, this is the finest Italian restaurant south of Fulton Street in the Financial District

Let me start by saying this....I believe we eat to live not live to eat so food is only a fuel source to me. Well, dinner here changed all that. I experienced, what my husband calls, a food coma. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. My Lemondrop martini was one of the best I have ever had too. Our service was excellent.....and fun as the waiter had a great sense if humor. This restaurant is off the beaten path, but definitely worth it.

We have been a few times now and make a point of coming every time we are in New York (so it must be good!). The food is excellent and the service faultless. We had two children with us this time and they had a great time too. The staff are so friendly. The wine advice is excellent too. We had two bottles!

Food is always imaginative and perfectly prepared and presented. The service makes you feel like you are the only one in the restaurant and you are family, the atmosphere is small and quiet so you can have intimate conversations. This is a rare find in the busy financial district.

This property was a real find. My husband and I happened upon this restaurant while exploring the downtown area. The atmosphere was elegant, quiet and comfortable. Our server was very efficient and pleasant. The wine was good even though not the year the menu stipulated. Our appetizers were very nicely presented. My lunch of carbonara was fantastic! We finished off with a coffee. All in all, just the perfect lunch experience for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Stayed at the Gild Hall hotel, got back late from business and needed to find a good meal close by. I took a chance with this restaurant without even looking at reviews. Many times this turns out badly. This night I got very, very lucky. What a wonderful meal. The service was attentive and caring. I would highly reccomend letting the knowledgable staff lead you to the right menu choices. The appetizer of fresh delivered oysters was unbelievably good. All diners recieve fantastic bread, cheeses, and a killer roasted pepper. So good. I could not decide between the gnocchi or the recommended fresh pasta for the night. The waiter did a combination of the two at his suggestion. I was so gald he did. Both were absolutely excellent. All in all, a wonderful, wonderful place. I will return when on vacation and happily share this location with my spouse. Cheers to a hidden gem.

When I think of my ideal Italian restaurant for New York City, this is it. It is tucked away on a quiet street in Manhattan. You walk in and the tables have white tablecloths. In addition, the tables are arranged and appointed in such a manner that it creates an ambiance, along with the murals and paintings of Italy, and you feel like you've stepped onto a movie set. The waiters are like characters from a movie, too. Then they bring the food to you and it is heavenly. It is real food and it is alive with flavor - rich flavor. I have visited this restaurant numerous times which may be my best endorsement.

We went in the evening for dinner as we were craving Italian food and found it wandering around the city. The service was excellent. The staff was very kind and patient with my teenage daughter and niece. The food was so delicious. The vodka sauce was the best I've ever had. The portions were perfect for what we ordered and we still had leftovers. The price was comparable to other restaurants that have way less quality. The restaurant itself was lovely and the atmosphere cosy. We will see you next time we are in the city!

Not many places you can say you get authentic cuisine. Here, you get it. Great, fresh appetizers, entrees and just whole Italian experience. I went in on a Tuesday night without reservations. Got a table for 1 not at the bar and enjoyed some relaxing time (really not relaxing with the constant attention from the staff :)) reading and enjoying dinner. Skipped all the first courses and dove into my entree after picking at the cheese, meat and olive antipasti. Great staff, attention and attention to detail cuisine. Not a huge place and so it gets liud when busy but there is a downstairs for larger parties. Great dinner and will return.

The Maitre D was incredibly patient with our group and looked out for my budget offering suggestions. He and the wait staff looked after us and we had an amazing time there. The food was great. The appetizers and dessert platters started and ended our evening in great fashion! Will definitely go back!!

Went on a Saturday night around 7p and was surprised that the upstairs of the restaurant was empty. Our group used the downstairs for an end of conference celebration dinner. I can assure you that no one left hungry as they continued to bring course after course. My wife and I ordered a NY Strip and it was amazing. We spoke to several others in our group who ordered the steak and even those that normally ordered other cuts said the same. The dessert was brought as a tray of about 2 each of about 12 different items, two per table. I had a cannoli and a small piece of a chocolate torte and both were quite good. The waitstaff count was well staffed for our group and there was very little waiting for anything. Overall, a great dinner that won't soon be forgotten.

On a recent trip to New York my travel companion had a hankering for Italian food. We happened by this place and stopped in for lunch. I know it's New York, but the prices were a bit steep for me. I'm not used to paying over $20 for a small plate of pasta, especially at lunch. The bread basket they brought out was "meh." It was dry and pretty tasteless, and came without any butter or olive oil. For my entree, the waiter recommended the Rigatoni alla Calabrese which was rigatoni with sausage, brocolli rabe, peppers, garlic and olive oil. The portions were fairly small, but the flavor was awesome. I would go back to have it again.

Stumbled apon this place by accident. Was seated 30 mins before the kitchen closed. The owner was very nice and said it isn't an issue. Was with a party of 10. The food was very good and tasty. i had a chicken marsala it was very good over pasta. I will be back for sure. The dessert was on the house and very good. The owner truely valued our business.

The dinner was authentic Italian, with rich flavors and freshness that you'd expect from an authentic italian restaurant. From the handmade pasta to perfectly seasoned sauces, everything was top-notch. Service was excellent. The financial district is quiet on the weekend so we were easily able to get a reservation for the time we wanted. Highly recommend.

We had lunch. The place is small and formal. I had a chicken paillard and my colleague had seafood pasta. Both entrees were really very good. Service was very good too.

Nice quiet atmosphere, pleasant decor, good service, well prepared Italian food from a menu with a nice variety. Good place for a business lunch or dinner. In the Financial district near the Federal Reserve Bank. A little on the pricey side.

I went with a large group and we all enjoyed ourselves. The service was excellent and the food good. The price was a bit steep but it was expected because we were in New York.

This place was very disappointing. Very overpriced. We paid $100 for an appetizer and 2 pasta dishes. The portions were very small and we were still hungry. Don’t recommend

American seeking authentic Italian cooking must visit. Gnocchi were amazing with fresh mushrooms, tomatoes and a lovely marscapone sauce. Service was terrific and their salami and cheese starter on the house is so welcoming. Just as Italians do in their own home. Prices were great and servings were perfect. Molto bene!

Attentive service. Delicious food. Great Caesar salad and absolutely wonderful mimosa salad. Linguine alla Vongole was flavourful and light. Fettuccine alla carbonara was melt in your mouth and "done the right way". The sole was fileted at your table and perfectly done. Pleasant atmosphere.

Excelent pasta marinara (pasta + seaffod) and wine. My only observation is the maitre trying to "sound" italian (he´s from middle east..)

Just arrived in Manhattan and had lunch here. The complimentary antipasti was wonderful. I suggest one if the homemade pasta dishes.

We had 16 people for a family dinner and it was wonderful. We were placed in a private room. Staff took great care of us. Everyone had something different, but we were all very happy. My nephew and his wife had the porterhouse for 2 - I tasted it and it was incredible. Pretty pricey, but worth it. I had the spaghetti carbonara and loved it. We were so happy to be able to walk from our hotel and have a large family meal. Very nice place tucked away in the financial district.

My favorite place downtown , best service and great food ! I came there three times and each time , I came to this restaurant the service was wonderful , very friendly stuff ! They always try to make your pasta according to your wish . Great place ! I recommend everyone to visit that restaurant !

On Sunday, November 30th, my partner and I had the distinct pleasure of celebrating our 30th anniversary and our wedding reception at Giardino D'Oro. It was a magical experience!!! Benny (the owner) and his team are amazing hosts. They paid attention to the most minute detail and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The food was spectacular - amazing cocktail hour appetizers and the dinner was superb. The atmosphere was so comfortable, fun, warm and intimate. I can't think of a better place to celebrate the happiest day of your life! If you're planning a New York City wedding and want a beautiful, intimate venue with amazing food and service, outstanding attention to detail (Benny is a joy to work with), and incomparable value - look no further than Giardino D'Oro. I would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful restaurant at your earliest convenience. You will not be disappointed!!!

Giasdino Doro is a very good Italian restaurant near Wall Street. They have a very good menu and great food. The service is also very good .

This time, I had the linguine with wild mushrooms and truffle oil.... Yummmzy !. I think it was a special of the day. But I usually ask for whichever combination that I am in the mood for. Here, they are very accommodating. It's a great nei I love the food there.

Had spaghetti carbonara. Enjoyed the food, including the soup and antipasto that accompanied the main dish. Staff was VERY attentive and polite. Not that far from WTC area.

Three colleauges and myself met for a business lunch yesterday. We expererienced first class hospitality from the moment we all (separately) walked in the door. The overall experience was classic old world in every aspect! The maitre de professional and accomodationg, wait staff welll versed in the menu and able to provide sopt on recommendations which my entire table enjoyed (proof of 4 sets clean plates). My lunch started with a nice complementery antipasta plate (marinated olives, scorched "just right" peppers, salumi and italian hard cheeses) The first course of organic house salad, was pristine fresh and perfectly dressed; seconda- grilled, table filleted whole bronzino was perfectly fresh and prepared. Double espresso concluded our business lunch. This will be my go to spot in the NYC Financial DIstrict.

Feeling like Italian and had wandered by this place before. Thought we'd go in and give it a try. Lovely service, good food, but not worth recommending.

What a memorable dinner we had this week! Thank you Benny and Sam for this absolutely amazing culinary experience heightened by your warm hospitality and such fantastic wines! Tiganello was my favorite. Looking forward to my next visit to NYC.

I have had dinner here several times and each time I am impressed with the food and the service. Celebrated my Dad’s birthday and they made all of us feel like we were family. It is small and intimate, a great place for a quite night out for a couple.

First I do not know how this restaurant is listed as 1900 out of 9000. Normally we go to restaurants in the top 10% of trip advisors ratings. Lately I started to notice pizza, Starbucks fast food restaurants rated above 4-5 star restaurants. So long story short we decided try this restaurant for lunch. Let me tell you, one of the best meals I have ever had. My wife had the Dover sole incredible, my veal dish amazing. From wine selection to dessert it did not disappoint and the service top notch! Next time we are in the financial district we will do dinner. Hats off to the chef and the entire staff.

I took 25 people to have dinner there and needed flexibility. They accommodated us easily by putting us in the wine room. Had a nice cozy atmosphere and the service was outstanding. We selected among the entrées and they brought us some appetizers in advance. This added to the ambiance as there was always something new to nibble on. The entrées were excellent and I then brought a plate of various desserts for us also to share. I would highly recommend going back there and my colleagues all said it was the best dinner we have had so far.

So totally great. Proper service. Great little cheese and salami plate. Pasta is perfect. Really dependable.

Great little traditional Italian place tucked away in what is almost an alley. Excellent service. Waiters in tux and white table clothes on the tables. Our waiter knew his whiskey and the Italian red wine list perfectly. His suggestions were well thought and good. Veal chops, lamb Ragusa, sea bass and lots of pasta dishes from traditional to some contemporary pairings. One of the several specials was Ossobuco. I can't pass that up and they switched out the risotto for sautéed spinach which was delicious. Fresh strawberries and homemade whipping cream with a nice espresso for desert.

After visiting the 9/11 Memorial we 'stumbled' upon this upscale Italian restaurant on the way back to our hotel. We were looking to have an early main meal before attending a show. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her salmon and I did the same with a veal dish. Only issue were the clams casino which were very tough but taken back without question. Comp'ed a dessert because of the tough clams! Very good customer service.

I went there in two separate occasion during two stays in New York as I was staying in a nearby hotel. Both time food was very good, but a bit overpriced...
Fantastic T-Bone
So I wouldn't usually write a review about a T-bone stake at an Italian restaurant, but after my lunch today I have to. This steak was one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, complimented by a creamy peppercorn sauce, with a "melt in your mouth" kind of feel. I would recommend this meal to anyone! And to start, I had a perfect burrata with prosciutto. I go to this place often enough, always for special business lunches that matter. There is no better place for such an occasion. One day I hope to come for a family dinner too -- I'm sure it'd be fantastic.
