I got the Kale Caesar Salad and it was excellent! The others with me enjoyed their meals also. Our service was also good.

Had an early dinner between shows, Larry was an excellent server. Food was good and service quick without being rushed.

We were on a bus tour to New York City and were looking for a restaurant near our hotel. The Glass House Tavern was a short walk away and so we decided to go there. It was a Friday night in the theater district and we had no reservation but they were able to seat us immediately. The food was excellent as was the service. If we get the chance to eat there again, we definitely would.

I have visited Glass House Tavern many times, although I have never eaten in the restaurant. I love the vibe in the bar, it fits with the neighbourhood and it's not unusual to see performers visiting the bar after curtain down. Best seats are at the bar, but if they are full, the service at bar tables is friendly and efficient. They do great martinis, and a decent selection of wines by the glass. We have eaten from the bar menu a few times, as they serve bar food late into the night - useful after a late show - the hot food, like mac & cheese and chilli is decent without being exceptional, but there aren't many great options if you're dining at midnight. I am a fan and it is one of my regular haunts in the Times Square neighbourhood.

Very nice spot conveniently located in the heart of the Broadway. Varied menu, something for everybody. Excellent choice for a pre-show dinner.

If you have an opportunity, I would suggest selecting another restaurant. Last night my wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. The server provided us with two “ complimentary” glasses of champagne. When our bill came we noticed we were charged for both glasses. Our server informed us that he had to include them for inventory purposes and they would be deleted at time of payment. That was not the case so another server came to our table, apologized and corrected this matter. As we were leaving our original server came over to say he was supposedly embarrassed by his oversight. The menu is very limited and my main course lack any flavor. In addition it took three requests for bread (rolls) and a lemon for my water.

Great location right in the middle of the theatre district. Service was first rate, atmosphere pleasant and the food was quite good. A bit expensive for the potions. We had the Duck and Lamb bolognese. Would go back.

Booked an early reservation so we could get to a show at 7. We ordered off the prix fixe menu and We were not disappointed. 5:15 pm reservation was good for Us and show. Only complaint was I think the wine by the glass was not a full pour. Seemed a little light.

The atmosphere and service was good. We expected good food, but for most of our party we were disappointed. Two of us had duck. It was tough. Worse, the Brussel sprouts and potatoes were so undercooked that they were inedible. One person had the meat which was tough. The manager was unsympathetic.

we sat upstairs near the window so wonderful view of the street as well as inside. Food was great highly recommend the Seared Tuna appetizer that vinaigrette is amazing.

Pre-theatre dinner. Seated in the back room. Restaurant is nicely decorated. The rear dining room is about 6 or 8 steps up from entry and has just a few tables so it feels intimate even though the ceiling (with skylight) is high. We had a wonderfully attentive waiter (Eric B) who, though he had many guests to take care of, made certain he checked in with us after each course and at various points to make certain everything was going well. We ordered Little Gem Caesar and Roasted Beet salads to start. Both were dressed very well, artfully assembled and delicious. Next we ordered fish of the day (branzino) and Long Island Duck Breast entrees. Branzino was accompanied by a lovely sauce with a chilled salad of zucchini and yellow squash ribbons. The duck was served sitting in a divine reduction with halved brussels sprouts and baby turnips. Also sooo de-li-cious! Well prepared, flavorful — absolutely no complaints. We cleaned our plates! Coffee and Cappuccino for dessert (though the dessert menu was enticing, but maybe next time). Oh, nice wine list too — Cote du Rhone Rosé and Ron Rubin Pinot were spot on choices and the rosé was not overchilled which I appreciated. Highly recommend. Will definitely eat here again.

The food was excellent and service was top-notch. We had the prize fixe menu and all of the choices were delicious. We would definitely return!

Went here for a bite before our show across the street and had a very good meal. Pork chop is excellent.

We went here for lunch. Good selection, good food, good service ... everything was nice. We made reservations, but probably could have just walked in for lunch.

Fantastic tavern in a pretty spot. Our dogs were welcomed at the tables out the front and water was brought out for them. First tick! Second tick is the fact that the menu had a bit of variety in addition to the normal pizza, parmys, schnitzels and burgers. My chicken laksa was fabulous and my husband said his steak was the best he’d had in a while, so third tick for food quality. Also, fourth tick for the fabulous service from a lovely girl called Carly. She stayed for a chat each time she brought something to our table and yet she always had one eye on the bar so she knew if anyone needed serving and would attend to them straight away. That’s a great bar attendant right there.

Enjoyed our dinner but the service was lacking. Asked for a coat check and was told there wasn't one and then we saw a large party have access to 2 racks for coats. That was disappointing and made us feel unwelcome. With two children ages 7 and 9, family courtesy would have been nice with our coats. Simple request on a December night. Anyway, the food was good though and the location was great for an easy walk to see Harry Potter.

A stones throw away from most of the major theatres on Broadway. We got a great welcome at the door, there were lots of people serving and they did a great job. Good selection on the menu including daily specials for soup and quiche. All tasted great and very reasonable prices. I think there is a full menu restaurant on site but didn’t get to see the menu here

We stumbled across this while walking from the TKTs booth in Times Square. We sat at the bar and drank love,y cocktails from the menu. They had seasonal choices and the staff were lovely. An ideal spot to while away a few hours especially pre theatre.

Nice menu, very good food, excellent service, and they were able to accommodate us before seeing a show. Also, nice atmosphere, both downstairs and upstairs. Will definitely be back!

Great food and service, good wine list, really nice and friendly staff, one of the best places in New York without a doubt. We will be back very much gladly!!

Went there just before Bruce Springsteen on Broadway. Didn't have much time, ordered Portobello Sandwich, Draft beer. Both were very good. Service at the bar. Bartender attentive. Table seating also available. My visit was early evening around 6pm. I would recommend this tavern based on quality of food, beer choice, service, atmosphere, location.

With its terrific location, and ample seating, this is a wonderful choice for pre- or post-theater -- or just because! The menu is interesting, the food beautifully presented and well prepared, the service is thoughtful but not pushy, and the is moderate. What's not to love?

My favorite apres theatre spot! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the vibe a good balance between fun and not crazy. Good wine choices, and the food is always perfectly prepared with excellent ingredients. My go-tos are the crab cake (appetizer from full menu), hangar steak sandwich (bar menu), or one of the risotto dishes. Kitchen is open later than many of the restaurants in midtown, making it perfect for after a show.

Had a great meal here pre-broadway theater show! I loved the duck breast and cheese plate. Also the sparkling peach martini was probably the best martini I've ever had. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed the Restaurant Week dinner before the theater. We were seated promptly, upstairs, when we arrived and greeted by Katie, our server. Appetizers (crab cake and apple salad), entrees (pork shank and salmon fillet), and desserts (panna cota and bread pudding) were all amazing. I highly recommend the Glass House Tavern.

I had lunch there with a party of 6 “ladies who lunch” before a matinee play. This is by far the busiest restaurant we been to in a long time. There are actually 3 levels. The street level consists of pub tables & a few regular tables. The 2nd level is a smaller area with mostly round tables. The 3rd level is much larger with long tables for bigger groups, but also regular tables too. The waitstaff is very busy & but friendly & efficient. This not the place for a “quiet little corner table”, it’s noisy & busy but the energy is quite enjoyable. Most of us ordered from a prefix menu crafted for theater-goers & our food was very good with no complaints (from 6 women?). Bring your wallet ... prefix lunch, one glass of wine & tip will set you back a cool $60-65. BTW- this place is touted be a place where many actors hangout after theater.

I have eaten here several times. Its my go to place when I am in the area and know that I will get a good meal with out having to search for something new.

Delicious, creative and generous portions. Reservations recommended. We were able to have a delightful meal before an 8 PM show.

We went to NYC for a day trip. Purchased tickets for a Broadway Musical (Waitress - wonderfully funny and sad), just a few (3 - 4) blocks from the Glass House Tavern Restaurant. We were headed to another (tourist-type restaurant) when we stopped and checked out the 'sidewalk' menu. The menu looked interesting and the restaurant, at the time, was not busy as it was early lunchtime and the theater was literally across the street. I ordered the 3-course meal that included a wonderful arugula salad w/ gorgonzola cheese, & pomegranite seeds, salmon over a flavorful corn couscous topped off w/ tangerine & thinly sliced spicy peppers, followed by a delectable bread pudding w/ a drizzle of caramel sauce. The chardonnay was just right and the Fig and Pig Old Fashion was refreshing. One of my friends ordered the steak and eggs and he said the meal was prepared perfectly. Another friend ordered a tomato bisque soup and chicken wrap and he said the soup was very good. Needless to say, the restaurant started getting busy because there are several theaters close by. I would highly recommend the Glass House Tavern because of the convenient location, wonderful staff and excellent food. The prices were reasonable also. Not hungry, no problem, just sit at the bar or one of the high top tables and have a nice cocktail. The manager, Anousheh, was very personable with a great sense of humor. The waiter ans hostess were very nice also. 2 thumbs up!

We stopped at the Glass House Tavern for a Sunday Pre-Theatre brunch. The Glass House has a full bar and offers a variety of menus from brunch, lunch and dinner. Additionally a prix-fixe menu is available on all three. We both chose eggs benedict for our brunch entree. It was accompanied by a perfectly dressed delicious side salad. The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was light and rich. Other menu options were salads, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, pancakes, eggs, french toast and more entree selections. Prices were fair, the atmosphere inviting and the service friendly and prompt. The Glass House is conveniently located in the Theatre District and is a great choice for a good meal.

This being my first time visiting Glass House Tavern. It was fantastic service with super nice servers. I had the Risotto balls, mushroom soup and the crabcake! My tastebuds thanked me immediately!! SO good!

During a solo trip to the city for theater and fun I discovered this gem! It will now be a must visit each trip. I wish I had time to return a second night during my trip, it was that good. I selected The Glass Door Tavern based upon reviews and location for a 7pm show. I ordered the Tuna Tartare and although I am an avid traveler, this was absolutely pheromonal! Hands down the best I have ever had. I sat at the bar and had the best dirty martini in the city. Eddie the bartender is a keeper for sure. Just prior to me leaving it started pouring down rain and I needed to get the the theater. I ask Eddie if there was anyway he could find one that I could use which had been possibly left behind for more than days. Within 5 minutes Eddie appeared with an umbrella. Not only the best bartender on this trip but he turned into my hero that saved me from being drenched walking to the theater. I am already planning my return trip in the fall and The Glass Door Tavern will absolutely be on my MUST do list!

Sat us by the window at our request. Sooo nice! Food was pretty and tastey. Price was great. They forgot about us after we got our entree but that was ok. Enjoyed our time.

Great little spot in Times Square, near the theaters, but not right on Broadway with the crowds. Adult beverages were well made and the staff and service were superb. Highly recommended.

Great service and fine food with many choices at a very convenient location for before or after theater or shows.

Nice atmosphere, nice service…. The salmon was very good, duck was excellent, the quinoa paella was fair. Have a good time.

My husband and I loved this restaurant. We were seated right away without a reservation and even scored a window table on the second level. Our servers were friendly and efficient and the meal was my favorite on this NYC trip.

What a great find. We were going to see SIX. We came a few days earlier to know where the theater was and found this place, right next door. We ran into some of the theater performers from the area. They recommended this place and especially the risotto balls. They said the food is great. So we immediately made a reservation for the day of show. We arrived and were quickly greeted by the manager/ host. We got a very nice table upstairs. We had Rachel as our waitress. (Btw, welcome back to everybody. It's great to have Broadway shows and the restaurants back). She was awesome and very helpful with recommendations and service. We had a weird request. We asked about the Balls and she said they were good. A must have. So we ordered the Pree Fixx x2 and Risotto Balls. The Pettit filet is an 8oz mignon. Plenty big door us with everything else. All I can say is WOW. Everything was very good and prepared perfectly. Drinks were strong. Crab cakes were good. Balls were awesome. Steak was perfect and dessert was also very good. The whole experience was a great start to an amazing evening. We were so glad we met some of the actual theater actors and that they recommended this place and the food to get. This was an awesome find. Thank you to Rachel for what you do and for taking such good care of us. Thanks to the manager for everything you did for us. We are really grateful and appreciate what you folks do. I highly recommend this place and get the risotto balls. You won't be sorry.

Nice place to stop before and after the theater. Food was very good as was the service. Plenty of items to choose from for drinks

This spot provides incredible service, delicious food and wonderful hand crafted cocktails! Staff not to miss are Valerie, Sebastian and Carlos. They all went way out of bounds to ensure our experience was one to be treasured for years to come.

We came here before a show and were able to get a table without a reservation around 5:30pm on a Thursday night. The staff is very friendly and they do a great job of getting the food out quick. I had the fish of the day which was halibut over a bed of corn and shrimp chowder. It was good but not great, as it was lacking a lot of flavor overall. For the price I was also hoping for a slightly larger portion of chowder underneath as well. They also provide bread and butter as part of the table service. Would try again as other dishes around us did seem larger. My wife got the vegetable paella, which was good but not does not replace paella.

Had a wonderful light bite to eat just before seeing a show. Service was wonderful and the food was good! Our waiter made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy our lunch leisurely, with enough time to stroll to the theater.

Finding a good restaurant in this neighborhood is really hit or miss, as the sheer number of tourists makes it hard to find a quiet place to eat. However, this restaurant really hit the spot. We had made a reservation and were seated right away, and our waiter came immediately to check in on us and bring us water. We shared several dishes: the butternut squash risotto (which was creamy and wonderful), the poached pear salad (delicious), the duck breast (flavorful), the and the lamb bolognese (also really good). We were going to a shower afterwards and our waiter made a point of ensuring that our food came out promptly so we could make it to our show on time. The restaurant is pretty deep, so it can seat a good number of people, but it's still quiet and has an upscale ambiance.

Had a short trip into the city for an afternoon show. Booked reservations on OpenTable. Staff is very friendly and the restaurant offers a good variety of cocktails and menu items. I had the chicken club which was very good...the bread was nice and light. Had a side of the rosemary fries. Very enjoyable. Want to go back for brunch some other time.

We were greeted promptly by the host and our server was at our table as we were being seated. We had made dining room reservations, but asked to sit in the bar and were accommodated. We were able to choose from the prix fixe menu, bar menu and/or the regular menu. There were also some specials. Drinks were amazing, everyone was right about the risotto balls (a must have) and our entrees and desserts were prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious. The staff members were very attentive, clearing plates and checking in frequently. Mario, our server, was professional, polite and friendly. He answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely go back.

Very reasonable prices, good menu, very good food, good service, management visible, involved, and concerned.

We loved the Glass House Tavern! After reading Trip Advisor reviews, and looking at the map, we decided to dine here prior to seeing "Six" on Broadway -- which is literally next door! I made our reservation through Open Table, and asked for a quiet table since we were catching up with friends we hadn't seen in several years. Our table was in a charming room with a fireplace and white tablecloths, so my request was honored. The food was delicious. Several of us had the branzino, and I had the duck ... all excellent. The wine list was very reasonable for NYC. Service was spot on. I was so surprised when the Dining Room Manager came to our table and asked if I were there. He had taken the time to review the reservation information, and wanted to greet me and my party by name! Very special.

I'm just getting around to this review - but must say loved the Glass Tavern. I have friends in NYC right now and have recommended it. My only observation - they don't, I think, have the Tres Leches dessert on the menu. I go to bed dreaming of this. It was, by far, one of the best desserts I have every had the pleasure of eating. I am in hopes that it is a winter time fare and will reappear. In the meantime, do go!!!!! It was the perfect place to have dinner prior to the Lion King.

Not recommended... Went there after seeing a show on Nov 16 2024. A family member picked it with the intent of trying something different that we normally eat at. When reading the initial reviews, I was somewhat skeptical. However, I figured...the menu is small, and prices are steep....perhaps their dishes fit the bill. Boy was I totally wrong. Had the burrata for an appetizer and braised short rib entree. Well...any good to excellent restaurant knows to serve burrata at room temperature (flavors come through)...NOT ICE COLD. And, the $43 braised short rib was NOT a short rib. First off, it was DRY with a crusty bottom (overcooked/charred). And, anyone with any knowledge of beef knows the difference between the short rib meat versus chuck or other substitutions that restaurants trick you with. Seven people in our party, four ordered the "braised short ribs"...and they did NOT serve us short ribs. The other dishes on the table were nothing spectacular. Our server was great. Too bad for the overall meal experience. Bill+tip was $860. Sooooo not worth it.

Everyone is so friendly. The food was delicious. I even took home a doggy bag. I am planning on going for my birthday.

Glass House Tavern is in a great location near Times Square and major theaters. Service is generally good and attentive, but the food and drinks are pretty average. At dinner before a show, we had the roasted half chicken and the grilled filet mignon. The chicken was tender and moist, but a bit bland. The filet was better with a nice, sear and a juicy red center. Given its location, we had hoped for a deeper, more interesting wine list. If you are headed to a nearby theater, this is still a reasonable choice.

I have reviewed this restaurant several times over many years--it continues to delight. This was my first time since COVID and the quality of the food service arejust as good as preCOVID. Wonderful!

So convenient to theater shows...right next door to "six". Front of house hospitality notable and welcoming. Nice ambiance and I was happy to have menu away from many of the italian restaurants in the area, as good as they may be. Loved the roasted corn cous cous risotto. Listed as appetizer but rich enough for entree.

We visited for an early dinner after seeing a matinee. The service was excellent as was the food. The Prix fixe menu was a great option. Tomato Fennel Soup, Braised Pork Shank and Bread Pudding. Very reasonable considering the location and the quality.

The title says it all. We will be back. Service almost too friendly and the NY Strip and the Salmon were both perfect.

Super convenient location, in Times Square. Our waiter, Larry, was wonderful and prompt. However, the food was nothing special and slightly bland. Great location and service, not-so-great food.

From looking round A LOT of reviews and recommendations, we took a gamble and bought tickets here for New Years - this did not disappoint. Great food served and free drinks all night (cocktails and nice spirits on selection - not just the cheap stuff). The staff were great throughout, getting everyone in the mood for a good time. Just before midnight, we were escorted into Times Square where we got to see the ball drop. An amazing experience and night. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing restaurant & waiter. One of the best meals I've ever had. Highly recommend! The setting and ambience are perfect, especially one in town for the theater.

Had a really nice meal for our last night in NYC. Got engaged so we wanted somewhere with a nice atmosphere for a special occasion. This delivered, food was great, service was quick and polite, an all round good experience. Would recommend and visit again in the future 👍🏻

Good location if you're looking for a meal before a show. Had the brunch menu - pear salad and salmon entry; both good. Excellent, friendly service.

The restaurant is convieniently located by so many Broadway shows. We always have a good meal her and have never been dissapointed.

This restaurant was picked based on another trip advisor’s comments. Atmosphere is warm and friendly staff. Excellent price for Prixe Fixe lunch and a large selection offered. Salad was nice with lots of fixings without being overwhelming The crab cake was nice size for appetizer with lump crab. Burger was cooked perfectly (medium rare) & the French fries were crispy like I like it Ordered Malbec glass which was very good on the palate. Overall a very good place for lunch.

We visited Glass House Tavern after a matinee. We made amazing reservation for 5 pm but they had no problem seating us at 4:30. The service was wonderful. We were not rushed and the server was very helpful. I had the cavatelli special. It had duck confit and wild mushrooms and asparagus. I enjoyed it. My friend had the lamb bolognese. It was delicious. The bread was also good and our cocktails were great. The prices were reasonable. We would definitely return.

We have been to the glass house tavern for both brunch and dinner . Both times before or after the theatre ! We made reservations So I’m not sure about dropping in . Both times we shared the roasted beet salad which is yummy. Other things I have had that were exceptional...jumbo lump crab cakes , eggs benedict , branzino , and filet mignon ❤️ Lovely atmosphere , lovely service . Desserts 🤔 ok ! Overall a must try .

Great place to grab dinner before a show. I love that our wait staff asked if we were attending a show prior to dining. All the food was served in a timely manner. The main dining floor seem crowded but fortunately my party was brought upstairs, which was more quiet and less crowded. For those looking for smaller meals/dining in a hurry, order from the bar menu if possible. There are a variety of light bites and shareable plates. Cocktails were reasonably priced and tasted good.

Busy busy Saturday night - we stopped in and they said it would be about 45 minutes to get all 7 of us together - was just about that (a bit faster) Menu is not big but had something for everyone Service was excellent - highly recommend!

Great spot for a pre show dinner. We made reservations for 530. Our waiter and bus staff were great. Menu was simple yet varied that made ordering easy. Food was fresh and great. No complaints. The only knock would be one of the hostesses when we first entered wasn't dressed the most professional. But that didn't take away from the dinner. I would return.

Four of us ate here as part of Restaurant week. The food was delicious and our waitress,Laura, was helpful and friendly. We ate early because we had tickets for SIX, a musical play. However, we were not in the correct demographic for the play (too noisy and the lights were blinding). We came back to the restaurant to wait for the play to end and my brother and sister-in-law to emerge. We were warmly greeted by the restaurant manager, Elie Maurice, who talked to us and offered a free dessert on the house. While we didn’t take him up on his gracious offer, he made an incredible impression. The Glass House Tavern is now on our must return lists whenever we’re back in NYC.

Before seeing 'Tina' we had dinner at the Glass House Tavern. The staff was so attentive and friendly. The prix fix dinner was delicious. The bathrooms were clean. Plus, I have Celiac Disease and had a wonderful safe dinner and dessert. The peach martini was great, too. I would definitely recommend this place.

Had booked for later in evening but guy on the desk helpfully rearranged. We explained had just flown in from uk and could fall sleep during dinner! Our server Larry was the best. Food was excellent, I had roast chicken which was cooked to perfection. My wife had lamb fettuccini ragu. Both awesome. Wine great. Excellent time.

Had a wonderful meal here prior to Hamilton. My son had the pork, a little chewy but his appetizer was the risotto and his dessert was the apple - amazing. My salmon was lovely. The location to our hotel and the show was perfection. Wait staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

Nice, but over-priced. Don’t care for the dark lighting. The butternut squash soup was too sweet - my version is better.

Tried open table reservation online before the theatre and could not get in, called and said they were booked for reservations but would welcome some walk ins if availability allowed. Very gracious and had an available table. Sarah was our server-she was knew the menu, the wine menu etc. had a great meal-roasted chicken and the halibut. Also the arugula salad was great. Friendly, good atmosphere and really delicious meal.

Great place to eat before the theater. Food was well prepared and delicious. I really enjoyed the crab cake. Real crab little or no filler. Pleasant and efficient service.

We had tickets for a Broadway show and needed a bite beforehand in a hurry. This restaurant fit the bill. We were seated right away and had a super waiter. The drinks menu was very good and had a good selection by the glass. I ordered the Cabernet poached pear and blue cheese salad, and my husband had the Crab cake. The bread basket was full and had a good variety. We were out in lots of time for our show. It was a great place and we would return again for a more leisurely dinner.

We reserved here for lunch prior to seeing a show on Broadway. The feeling is cozy and attractive, even a little elegant. We were seated in window seats on the second floor overlooking 47th street. While not expansive, the lunch menu had something for everyone. The meals were creative, fresh and well presented. The service was excellent. They also have full bar service and a good choice of desserts and coffees. We would definately stop here again.

Located close to our hotel, Times Square, and Broadway it's a very good choice for before or after food and drink. The Cuban sandwich was very tasty.

My daughter and I walked in around 6PM on a Saturday without a reservation and were quickly seated. The pre-fixe menu was great. Average cost- but not too expensive. Food was DELICIOS and service although busy was great. Only comment would be to put a restroom sign on the wall near the upstairs bathroom. It is really hard to find. Otherwise, we would certainly come back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I think our waiter's name was Elsie and she was wonderful! My partner had pre-theater dinner with risotto as an appetizer which was delicious. We would have enjoyed a larger portion as entree (menu suggestion). Her salmon was also excellent. I had the soup of the day (cream of mushroom) which was the best I've ever had and the fish of the day which was an awesome halibut. The bread was worth mentioning...an assortment all very good. Outstanding all around. I had my partner's warm chocolate cake because she was full. My only complaint was that I didn't get to try my own dessert. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful establishment. So good, we visited twice! Paul was an outstanding host.Full of Irish charm ! We returned the following evening too. On both occasions we settled for the bar menu. The chicken wings were the best I’d ever tasted.

I ate here because it is mentioned on the NYC Forum so often. I had weekday dinner before an 8PM show, alone, in May, 2022. I got in without a reservation, although they asked me if would be happy at a high-top table, which was fine with me. I prefer that to a bar seat. I saw empty tables, but I don't expect to be given a 4 or 6 top to eat alone. It's a NYC Real Estate story! The menu is not huge, but it has a variety of choices for every taste, including a vegetarian entree. I ordered the pre-theater prix fixe at $55. Important note: The prix fixe is NOT limited to, say, until 6PM. It's all hours, as far as I could tell. Because the waiter recommended it, I paid a $4 surcharge for the crab cake appetizer, and it was worth it. I had an excellent pork chop entree, and the waiter-recommended bread pudding for dessert. My two glasses of Glass House Tavern Sangria were $15 each. They cheerfully accepted my plan to eat slowly and linger over dessert because my curtain time was so far off. An enjoyable dinner with good food. Not likely to see it in Gourmet Magazine or a food show on TV, but very well done.

We visited the Glass House Tavern on a Sunday evening. We had a very early reservation as we had an 8 pm commitment. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and we were seated on the second floor (By the time we left the restaurant was crowded). All I can say is our service was disappointing, we thought it might have been his first day working there. It improved when we think one of the owners or managers jumped in and started helping. What was very odd is we ordered our drinks and requested the "rocks on the side". After they were delivered -- with no rocks on the side, we requested them again. In addition, we requested ice for the tap water. The waiter brought one small glass of ice :(. When requesting again, and not having ice brought to the table we just gave up! I ordered from the menu -- a very nice mixed salad and the grouper special. The salad was very good. The grouper was just ok. My husband ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Salad was good, the filet was overcooked (asked for medium rare, and it was definitely medium +), and the chocolate lava cake was excellent. When we told the waiter about the filet being over cooked he looked at it and shrugged his shoulders -- somewhat comical. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant or return. Especially for the price $$$$

I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there, but we called in for drinks a couple of evenings while we were in New York. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Drinks were lovely and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the city.

Went here for a pre theatre meal. Guy at the reception was really friendly and so were the busboys, they were friendly and attentive. But my server was terrible. Uninterested, unattentive, passive. I am totally willing to give more than a 20% tip for great service, but this guy seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. Food was OK, nothing special. (Maybe the food didn’t taste that good because of the bad service, could be.)

We popped in here for after show dinner and drinks. We chose to sit at the bar and it was great. We started with the jalapeño cilantro martinis. Very good, but could have been a little spicier. The cheese plate was great, thoughtfully balanced. I had the beet salad for dinner, hubs had the cubano. Both very good, with his fries being the star. Joey was our friendly, very busy, bartender.

This restaurant is fairly close to the Lunt-Fontanne Broadway theatre where Tina is currently playing. This is one of the reasons we booked as well as the good reviews we had seen. Appears quite noisy downstairs but upstairs was great. Fairly quiet and nicely laid out tables. Our meals were very good and my sangria cocktail was delicious. Nice selection of bread provided and reasonably priced. Pleasant staff. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Stopped by last evening after a show . Ordered a Pomegranate martini & soup and sandwich from bar menu. Nice friendly crowd at dinner time . Service was good soup (cup) was a corn chowder bisque. 1/2 generous pressed panini was bacon cheese and tomato served with side mixed salad. It was all very good and tasty. Glass of house Chardonnay with dinner. Was also good. Prices reasonable. A lot of theater ppl. Frequently go here friendly clientele. Yes, I’ll dine here again

Service and atmosphere is excellent. Food is good and nicely presented but not memorable. Prices are a bit on the high side. Branzino $32.95

My sister and brother-in-law treated my husband and myself to an anniversary dinner (46 years). We were seated at exactly the place I wanted in front of the windows on the second floor. We were all treated to an anniversary glass of champagne. What a really special thing to do! The food was perfect. My sister and I chose from the pre fix pre show menu and the guys bought a la cart dinners. All 4 dinners were delicious. Every member of the staff was sweet, kind, and helpful. THANK YOU, GLASS HOUSE!

Went in for a few drinks after work with colleagues and although crowded we got a table. Friendly and efficient table service in a nice ambience. We only had bar snacks but these were very good

3 in our party on 3/20/19. 2 of us had the Lamb Bolognese and the other had the Salmon. The Lamb Bolognese @$27.97 ea. and Salmon @$32.95 were both excellent. Would have given 5 stars but thought the Bolognese was expensive. Tax add on $7.89 total bill before tip $96.74. Service is very good and the staff are all very attentive and friendly.

This has been one of our go-to restaurants in the theater district for years, whenever my wife and I visit there. We go for either pre- or post-theater visits. My wife needs to eat gluten-free and she is always able to find good options. We enjoy sitting on the second floor, overlooking the street, but the atmosphere throughout is always pleasant. It's nice to have such a reliably good restaurant as an option.

We had the most horrendous meal. The calamari was like rubber. The vegetables with our duck were not even cooked, they were hard. The duck itself was tasteless and bland and cold and the drinks were watered down. If you want to save a lot of money, DON’T go to the Glass Tavern.

Went for lunch. Price fix lunch delicious. 4 girls, and we split 3 meals and 2 bottles of wine. Perfect!

Went with another couple for early dinner first week in December before seeing Lion King. Very cozy beautiful atmosphere near an electric fireplace. I had salmon as well as our friend. It was cooked to perfection, nice and moist and not dry thank goodness. The accompanying cous cous risotto was very tasty as well. My husband had the shrimp fettucine and very much enjoyed it. My other friend had the duck breast and she said it was the absolute best she had ever had! Service was excellent. But our trip was made unforgettable by the manager named Elie. He was overseeing everything with a keen eye! Both our husbands suffer from cognitive impairment and went to the restroom. Elie greeted us and spoke briefly to us. We told him our situation and he kept an eye on our gentlemen and made sure to escort them safely back to our table! He was very attentive and caring. On our way out, Elie noticed my husband was struggling to get his jacket on. He calmly but swiftly came over and assisted him in getting his jacket on properly. I was impressed that he went out of his way to help. He is an extreme professional but for sure a very kind and caring soul! We were very touched by his compassion towards us and when in NYC will def come back to this restaurant! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Elie!

Not for Italian taste. We ate badly and paid a lot: this is the summary of our experience in this restaurant that boasts high culinary standards. The modest, although clean, environment immediately makes us understand that we cannot expect much. The dish of meat, cooked poorly and with an indecipherable side dish based on cauliflower, remained on the plate almost without being touched. Price absolutely unjustified.

Our last night in NYC we wanted a nice restaurant with wine, not fast food. This fit the bill. Surprisingly they only offer half bottles of wine but this worked out as we shared a half bottle of the $70 Stag's Leap Artemis we never would have had otherwise. They offer the $42;orix fixe even when the theaters have started and it's great. Watermelon salad and sausage polenta for starters. I paid $9 more for my filet mignon which was excellent. The spaghetti seafood was too. Desserts were ok, with chocolate cake and bread pudding. Service was a bit slow a d we had to ask for water a d bread but we were the only table in our quieter area. The bar is very noisy.

After the theater, we walked in wo a reservation and since it was a Tuesday night, we were seated. It got full by 6pm so don't think you'll get that lucky on a weekend. The food was good. I ordered from the prix fix menu. The filet was tender and sauce on it just right. Waiter took it upon himself to bring me 4 samples of beer when the one I requested wasn't available. I like when a server can take initiative like this. I then asked for the 4th sample but waiter brought me the 3rd sample. It didn't really matter to me and waiter was so sweet so I just kept it. Service was good. Someone whom I assume was the mgr was on the floor often so it was reassuring.

Stopped in for a drink with friends after seeing a play nearby. It's a nice space and after the theatre a comfortable place to relax and talk. Our server was quite good. She sat us, took our orders, checked in on us unobtrusively a few times...when we decided to get some food to nibble on, she made that happen very quickly too. Honestly, the flat bread pizza was average, but the ambiance and service overshadowed it. Seemed a bit on the expensive side, but what in NYC isn't. My actual rating would be Good...between what I had to chose and average. This may be a bit harsh, but in this area there are a plethora of places, most of which are truly average...and this one is better. I would go there again without hesitation...only next time might skip the offerings from the kitchen,.

We were 18 for post show dinner . Most people loved their meal . Service was excellent. Also offered a price fix menu as an option . Pricing was reasonable especially for NYC

The service, food and ambience were outstanding. Went for brunch. The omelette, beet salad and sangria were all excellent.

This was our first visit to the GHT. We were a party of 8 and our table was ready for seating when we arrived. We sat and then waited 10+ minutes before a waiter approached with water or inquired if we wanted cocktails or wine. It was 20-30 minutes before we had our drinks and still no bread for the table. Our orders were finally taken and the food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly. Most of us enjoyed our dishes. The favorites were the duck, chicken and rigatoni. We did think dinner was over-priced. I would consider giving the Glass Tavern House a second chance.

Six of us went to dinner prior to seeing a show. 4 of us had a bottle of red and 2 had white wine. All fantastic. Then from appys to dessert, each course was superb. We all got something different and we were all very happy. Though not a huge menu, the steak, the pork shank, the tuna, the chicken, the seafood... all were done to perfection. In fact they even brought over FOUR desserts, GRATIS for one of our birthdays. Oh, whenI had called earlier in the day to ask for a round table, Chris, apparently, made sure we had one along with the birthday candle. We will all definitely be back.

One of my favorite spots for pre- and post-theatre. The ambiance can get a bit loud after shows let out but it's always a fun environment. Get the risotto balls!

I found this place, and decided to hang out here, asked for a fried calamari and a Home Sangria... great! Nice service, the only thing is, if you sit close to the entrance, it smells like garbage... maybe they should close the doors... 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Charming bar/restaurant. Great atmosphere, bartenders and drinks. Close to Times Square and Theaters.

Had a reservation here before our show. Opted to try the prix fixe menu: appetizer, entree and dessert. Appetizers were mixed- the bacon corn chowder was a let down and just tasted like creamed corn, but the sweet pea risotto was delicious! The entrees shined- smoky pork chop and bacon wrapped filet were both cooked perfectly with excellent sauces. Dessert was just ok- bread pudding was somewhat boring and the chocolate cake had good chocolate flavor but was super dry. All in all it was a nice atmosphere and we made our show on time, but skip the prix fixe menu and go right to the entree.

We were spending the weekend in the city, taking in a show and some sights. More than one person had recommended this restaurant before our Saturday evening show. Food was fantastic and cooked perfectly.

Glass House is in the theater district, has a pre-fixe pre-theater menu and has received many positive reviews. We had 5 pm reservations and were tempted by the pre-fixe at $46, but we decided to order a la carte since we had had a late lunch. We ordered 2 appetizers and shared a salad: crab cake with aioli sauce and cucumber noodles, sesame crusted tuna and shared a curly kale caesar salad. The salad was plenty to share and came with cheese toast and a tasty non-oily parmesan dressing. Our appetizers were good sized and came as ordered. We both rated our appetizers as good but not special. Our waitstaff took our orders promptly and checked in regularly although we had to remind her to fill our water glasses since we were both very thirsty. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but filled up quickly. It became quite noisy (hard to hear tablemate but did not hear nearby diners. Our orders came quickly and you felt that there was a very well run kitchen behind the scene. We had time to go to the restrooms ( 2 female) and get to our theater on time. One of the better pre-theater meals we've had.

We just enjoyed another fantastic lunch at Glass House Tavern. We have been coming here whenever we are in the city. We have been enjoying this great restaurant since they first opened (9 years ago?) and have never been disappointed in the food. Everything is always excellent & the service is always top notch. You are never rushed and the entire staff is very customer oriented. 👍

Absolutely the best meal we had in the week we’ve been here! Eli and his team know what customer service is all about! Beautiful presentation and excellent taste! You know it’s good when the husband eats Brussels sprouts. 😉

Party of 6. Great food and wonderful service. Nice atmosphere, not too noisy, and great experience all around for all of us.

We did not have high expectations. And, in fact, we were not surprised to find bare bones decor and uninterested/non-existent service. When we finally received the attention of a well-intentioned young waiter, the food came out fast, before the drinks, which lagged another 10 minutes. The food order was bungled by the kitchen. The only redeeming aspects of this disappointing evening were the waiter and the calamari.

We had dinner three times in this place with a couple of friends and would return tomorrow: atmosphere, quality food and well cooked, courtesy and helpfulness of the waitresses.

Sleek, multi-level, comfortable restaurant & bar in the heart of the theatre district, it could coast on its food but instead pleases even the most frequent return visitor. Even the simple is great: fries extra crisp, grilled chicken straight off a real grill, green salad brightened with julienned pear. Quiet enough to have a conversation. Would return.

First class prompt but friendly & genuine service. A delightful selection of drinks & cocktails with some seriously good food. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for; relaxed quiet & thoughtful. This was outmr favourite space & place while visiting NYC.

Outstanding food! Mushroom risotto spectacular as well as crab cakes. Filet was melt-in-your mouth wonderful and perfectly cooked. Pork shank fell off the bone. Desserts wonderful. Ambiance nice. Service fabulous. One recommendation is to expand the wine list. Limited choices.

We went to Glass House before our play. I liked the prefix menu and there were many good options.Service was good and food was above average but not great.

Visited on Saturday evening pre theatre. They would not take a reservation so we chanced getting a table unreserved and found a largely empty second floor. In spite of this we were seated under the air conditioner and next to a wait station across from the hall to the restroom. Though pleasant, our waitress was slow and inattentive. We had to ask for bread and fresh pepper was never offered with either appetizers or entrees. We had to request fresh lemon for fish entrees. Seafood risotto was delicious and served piping hot. Ample portion. We finished entrees at 7:15 and ordered coffee which took at least 15-20 minutes to be served. Really? By this time, a large party with small children had been seated right next to us in spite of many vacant tables in either direction. Totally not necessary or warranted. Management should pay more attention to service and timing.

Went to see Beautiful in Broadway and used open table to make a reservation. The glass house Tavern has a very simple quote appearance. Greeted and seated quickly. Staff was attentive and Friendly. Menu was a bit small but I don’t mind that as it makes choices easier. They easily accommodated sone slight changes we requested. Food was prepared as we requested in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was cooked to our liking and tasty. Just slightly on the high side for pricing but not bad for NY. Overall very goid

Friendly, informal, with fine, if not special food. There’s nothing not-to-like about Glass Door Tavern, and the prices and closeness to the theater are big pluses. Burata was fine, with a large and perfect piece of cheese, although it could have used more vinegar and tomatoes. The paella was large enough but underwhelming in flavor and ingredients. The price fixe was a good amount of food; the filet (for an upcharge) tasted more like a sirloin, but it was tasty and well prepared. Our waitress was very warm and eager to please.

The service was just awful and the food was just adequate. The fact that I had to get up to fill my own water glass was ridiculous. All of the tables around us had the same complaint and voiced it by not giving a tip. I cannot and would never do that, did I give her 20% no, but I would never just walk away. I did speak to the manager as we left and he said Thank you he appreciated the feedback. Overpriced food as well. It is sad because I had been there once before and it was very good. I will however never go back. i am a Native New Yorker.

Theater district restaurant gem. Great decor and good food. Not a large menu but the food is worth it.

We decided to come here pre-theater. The service was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere was also very good. They did have a price fixe menu which both my wife and I did for $60 a person. It was 3 courses. We had the seafood soup and 4 cheese tortellini as appetizers. Both were excellent. My wife and I don't usually get the same main course but we both got the Salmon over a corn mixture which was very very good. For dessert, I had the molten lova cake and my wife had a cheesecake type parfait. It was the right size without being too much. We would definitely recommend it and would visit here again.

My husband and I walked from Grand Central Station towards the theater district. We were going to see a Sunday matinee of Book of Mormon. We passed several restaurants and many looked crowded and noisy. We saw the menu for Glass House Tavern and decided that there was enough selection to choose from and it did not look too busy. We were seated on the main level. The food was very good. My husband raved about his salad with shredded chicken. I had a hamburger and it came with a huge amount of french fries. We noticed that many people were being escorted to an upstairs room so this place is much larger than it appears at first glance. The bathroom was clean, the service was friendly and quick. It was a pleasant experience and I will remember this place when I am in the city again.

Booked a pre-theatre supper, turned up on time and the place was buzzing. Thought we would be in for a great experience. Oh how wrong we were! Told the waiter we had to be out within an hour but the service was so slow - waited 45 minutes for our food during which the waiter totally ignored us. We involved the manager, who seemed totally ineffectual. While he reduced the bill it made little difference to our experience and we had to leave food uneaten or miss the start of the show. We would not return!

Love-love-love! It’s a pleasure to dine where you’re not sitting on top of the next person! Lovely atmosphere, great service and deliciously wonderful menu. We’ll definitely be back!

Quiet little place before or after the theatre. Menu was nice though a little limited, service was good and ambience was pleasant.

With only one night to dine in New York City, the choices are immense and challenging. Because of two past experiences where Chris, the host beyond compare, made our family feel we were "at home," we headed straight away to that restaurant...with reservations, of course. Tony and his team smoothly handle a pre-theatre crowd but also are mindful of those who want to relax and enjoy appetizers through dessert. This is THE place to enjoy both options. Can't thank Chris enough and we did not regret for one single minute our choice to dine at Glass House Tavern when we only had one night. Don't miss the prix fixe dinner...or their special pork chops! Desserts show versatility and "on point" preparations/presentations. A "ten" star experience!

We were at GHT for NYE. and it was definitely one of the best experiences we ever had. Chris was the contact we had before NYE and he really explained everything in detail to us and answered all our questions. before NYE we went to the Restaurant and got our tickets...by then we saw the restaurant for the first time, and the first impression was very good as well. On NYE we followed the directions of the GHT staff, to come to the restaurant from 8th/47th street. There was a police control, which let us through (showing our tickets) with no problem. Went to the restaurant and got our table (6 Person table) right away. The food was delicious and since there was an open bar, the drinks were flowing as well. At 11.15pm we had the opportunity to get escorted to the timesquare (you don't have to join, if you don't want to, but i highly recommend it). The Police officer got us through the barricades & controls and led us to just right on timesquare, where we were able to see the ball drop. it was a nice view of the ball and we had the best time here. Afterwards we went back to the restaurant and celebrated a bit more until the early hours... all in all, if you are on the fence, if you wanna book NYE at Glass house tavern...just book it. it's worth every penny.

We went in for a quick bite before a show….I had a great roasted beet and goat cheese salad and a passable glass of white wine. Service was great and SO appreciate the vaccine status check. Made me feel a little more secure

Fabulous food and great service! Came here based on reviews and would definitely come back when visiting New York next time.

5 Star pre-theatre experience! We enjoyed a fantastic Prix fixe Theatre dinner at Glass House Tavern. Great ambience, 5 Star service and outstanding food. Oh yes and the Watermelon Aperol Spritz cocktail could not have been better! Nice options for all on their menu. Sweet Pea Risotto appetizer with the Tenderloin and finished with Cappuccino Panna Cotta was again a 5 star dining delight! Thanks for making our Theatre night a great one! The Girls from Canada

Nice restaurant in the theater district close to Times Square. We had dinner here prior to seeing Hamilton. Good service and food. Seafood Piella and mussels both very good.

Given the location here in the theatre district this place is ideal for a pre-theatre meal. Food was good and served very quickly which suited me as although I wasn’t going to a play I wasnt looking to linger. I had the crab cake for starters and although not as good as those I’ll hopefully get next week in Baltimore it was tasty. Service was functional and pleasant. Would therefore recommend if you wanted a quick bite before a play.

You know how everywhere else in the world you get the bill, they bring the machine, you put in your PIN and hey presto paid. Not in America- they whisk your card away, get you to sign a bill and give you a paper receipt- it’s the dark ages!!! Went to this bar they have double charged our credit card- the owner denies the problem and we are still waiting a response from the credit card company. Avoid this bar is my advise

We visited this restaurant whilst looking for something nice for my birthday. We opted for the fixed price menu at 44 dollars each and although the choices were limited in number we both found something we liked. The starter we both had was Duck Wellington which was very nice,? I opted for the Pork chop main which was amazing and my wife had the mushroom pasta which was also very good. The desserts were also excellent as was the warm cider cocktail with rum. The waiter was very efficient and attentive and although he wouldn’t sing Happy birthday to me, we did receive a complimentary drink

We have been here a number of times prior to a show and once again, Glass House does not disappoint. There is a theater special (reasonable) with good choices as well as a regular menu. The servers and greeter are always very friendly and service is great, especially since you need to get to your show. My personal favorite entree is the seafood paella off the regular menu but the trout and salmon have also been delicious. Suggestion: Make sure you make reservations well in advance. When I went online there were no reservations for 2 hours of 6:00pm but when I called they fit me in for a reservation.

Nice hidden gem, just half a block from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. First class service from all aspects. Will be back.

Enjoyed dinner here. Nice atmosphere, good for a date night. Conveniently located near theatre district. Good service. Food was good.

The night we arrived in New York we could not get a table at our hotel but managed to obtain one here. I’m delighted they had a vacancy as the food was really good and the atmosphere was great. We sat upstairs which, although busy, was much less noisy than the ground floor seating. Menu was not extensive but perfectly adequate from which to able to choose. Food was well cooked, tasty and plenty of it. Main course $25 - $40. Service was also good with friendly staff. Would eat here again. restaurant is opposite a theatre so is very busy at 6:00pm until 7:30pm then becomes much quieter until 10:00 when they become busy again after the theatre is finished.

Glass House Tavern is a gem in the Theatre District!! From the excellent appetizers to the entrees to desert we’re absolutely delicious!! The Sesame Tuna appetizer was amazing, the Salmon and Branzino were delightful and the Bread Pudding for desert was delicious!! The wine selection was terrific!! I would highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed!!

Before going back to the hotel, we wanted to have a snack. We walked in front ot the Glass House Tavern and decied to walk it. It did not disappoint. The place was lively and crowded. We sat at the bar, ordered a drink and the grilled flatbread pizza. Fresh ingredients and tasty. The service was also excellent. We would have gone back for dinner but unfortunately we didn't have time. Great location, excellent service, fresh ingredients, and wonderful atmosphere.

Reserved online thru open table and got there a little early. They sat us quickly and were friendly. We had the prix fare menu which included the champagne pear salad, filet mignon, and dessert. The salad was a little strong on the dressing. Steak was awesome with creamy polenta. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and bread pudding, they are the size of a small muffin but after all the food such a great way to end the meal

Great spot for pre-show dinner or anytime nr Times Square. We came Friday for drinks and Saturday for dinner. Now our favorite.

I was not going to or coming from a Broadway show but rather meeting a friend in the city for dinner. However it was not hard to notice those that were dining in advance of a show and it was clear that this restaurant is adept at serving these customers and ensuring they have ample time for the theater. I thought dinner was very good. The server asked us if we were going to a show and when we said no, he served us at a slower, relaxing pace - our preference. I had the Chopped Kale Caesar salad to start and my friend had the Apricot Glazed Duck Confit. Both dishes were really good, plated nicely and prepared well. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad. For dinner, I had the Lamb Bolognese and my friend the Seafood Paella. Portions are nice, the meals again were really well prepared and the food was great tasting. I didn't try the Paella but the Lamb Bolognese was so good. We also shared a 1/2 bottle of wine at dinner. I like that they had a selection of half bottles - I guess it makes a lot of sense in an area around Times Square.

Everything was top notch from the drinks to dessert! I had the Shrimp Fettuccine and my wife had the Atlantic Salmon and both were served in a generous portion and were delicious. I had the Bread Pudding for dessert and it ranked right up there with the best Bread Pudding I've ever had. Service was terrific, quick and friendly. Prices were very reasonable for a NYC theater district restaurant

We stopped in for a quick bite and a glass of wine before the theatre and were delighted with what we got, The food is served efficiently, the staff are friendly and understand time constraints and there were good gf options,. Would definitely go again, Good value for money.

I just adore the chicken club. It's very tasty. My girlfriend likes the signature cocktails here with various names. I usually am able to get a last minute reservation on Open Table. Service here is good.

Great meal for our girls trip to NYC! It's very close to Times Square. We all sampled each other's meals and everything was delicious!

We literally stumbled onto this little gem! We were going to a show at the theatre next door and were wandering around looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat and my husband suggested here. We were shown to a table in the bar and the service was exceptional, really friendly and welcoming. We only had a sandwich each, but what delicious sandwiches they were, and the fries were amazing!! It's a lovely little spot for a drink or a more substantial meal. I would definitely go back if we're every lucky enough to return to NYC!

Happened upon Glass House while on way to a play and so glad we did. The atmosphere is energized without being hyper, and the bartenders are swift and friendly- and experts in the perfect drinks -no matter what you order!

We at here during NYC Restaurant Week, so the price was deeply discounted, but we will happily return and pay full price! The food was excellent, as was the service. It is a very big restaurant, but our table felt very private. My husband and I each had different salads, entrees and desserts, and every bite was delicious. The cocktails were terrific as well. It's hard to believe this restaurant is located right in the heart of the theater district. Other restaurants in this area are overpriced, and/or serve mediocre food, relying on the convenient location. I would recommend this place no matter where you are in NYC--it is a great night out or a great place to meet friends. We live in the area, and the Glass House Tavern will become our new "place" in Manhattan.

We visited following a recommendation from an advert on “where to eat for thanksgiving in New York”. Sadly it was not a good experience. We did enjoy the food but the service was not good at all.

We ate here after seeing a Broadway show and the food, atmosphere and staff were lovely. They treated us all very well and we look forward to visiting again some time.

Surprisingly upmarket bar/restaurant given location in heart of tourist theater district . Friendly attentive service and well prepared food.

What a great surprise. Service was wonderful. Had the special that was a hangar steak-cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Highly recommend as a great stop before a show

A friend and I enjoyed our pre theater Sunday brunch so much that I decided to bring my husband to the Glass House Tavern 3 weeks later to celebrate our anniversary. The first time we were seated upstairs in front of the window, the second time we were in a booth, upstairs as well. The atmosphere is casual, but classy. The waiters, especially Alfredo, were very attentive. I loved the small basket of rolls and the ice tea and sodas in tall, thin glasses. My friend and I had the brunch 3 course brunch special. Mine was quiche, salad & a chocolate dessert with a berry sauce. She had the burger with very good fries. Everything was well presented and delicious. My husband had a salad and bacon burger. I had a wonderful crispy chicken cutlet, served over a salad of greens, candied pecans, cranberries, slivered apple slices and Gorgonzola cheese. I had called ahead to ask if they could surprise my husband with a special dessert. They brought us a selection of 4 desserts and the manager came over to congratulate us...and did not charge us! What a nice gesture. We will definitely return.

We were here for evening drinks and snacks. The service was great and the appetizers that we had were great as well as a fully stocked and plentiful bar!

Perfect location, beautiful interior, very nice stuff and the best porno star cocktail in the city. Highly recommend.

We had Thanksgiving Dinner here while on town for Hamilton and other events. The Glass House was terrific - from the service to the food to the wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely return on our next trip to mid-town New York.

Went there before seeing the new Tina Turner musical. It's a long established downtown gem, half a block from Times Square. The lamb Bolognese was great!

We stopped in for a drink after seeing Carole King Beautiful next door. The bartender waited on us immediately. This is a very nice bar and restaurant. We ordered wine and when we ordered a second glass she said it was on her! We were shocked because this just does not usually happen, especially in NYC! She was very professional and we watched as she put on gloves to cut fruit for drinks and checked to make sure glasses were clean before she used them. Wish we had been hungry to try their food.

This is the perfect place to have a nice lunch in a cozy atmosphere. The drinks were tasty, the food was delish, and the service was excellent. I will definitely return!
Drinks after work with colleagues and clients
Stopped in Glass House for a few beers after work last week. Nice atmosphere. Not too loud. Good buffalo wings and had a salmon, kale salad that was good.
