Highly overpriced for the little plates, yes we are in NY abut even for this city the foods war poor, in quality and size. The service was as well not good, no smile no welcoming nothing

The bartender was amazing! And made us incredible cocktails. The GM was super rude to his staff in front of customers which really ruined the vibe

Make sure you find Alex-the awesome Irish waiter. We went for a cocktail and drink and stayed for a quick snack while visiting the island and were so impressed with fast friendly service -it was Alex’s first day and he made our visit- great craic! Would have stayed for dinner if we didn’t have to get back for our show. Highly recommend.

The food was very delicious, we had the Grilled cheese with tomato soup, Buffalo wings, Classic Caesar salad, Corned Beef Reuben sandwich with fries,

We've had to eat something .. so caught our eyes on this restaurant on Roosevelt Island . Very busy cowered but we've decided to give a chance to eat there. The food was great! But most amazed us was that "A WAITRESS" she was so good. Very friendly in spite of craziness she was professional manner .Well handled . I should have ask her name :):) She was so good! Sat on outside of course due to COVD19. Busy very busy .. Affordable prices to eat out. Thank you Lady . You were fantastic!

Car was a couple of hours away out of your New York City trip and take the tram to Roosevelt Island, walk around taking in the skyline, and then have lunch and a beer at Granny and his kitchen. So fun!

Food fantastic and hot, home made delicousness obviously made with love and flavoursome, compliments to the chef❤️ loved every single mouthful ❤️

Wonderful location and nice space. Decent bar food, but always looking for healthy vegetarian food that I could not find here. Otherwise would give this place a 5 rating.

Granny Annie’s has delicious food – the menu is small, but the vibe is very cool in side .High top tables are across the bar, and a small private area that does look like you are eating inside your grandmother‘s dining room in her home very vintage! There also is a general dining room in a window area overlooking the main street. We love the happy hour here, (M-F till7:00) the service is so nice, and when you live on Roosevelt Island it’s nice to know you can find a very great place to come and have a meal or just cocktails. They do have an outside dining area that’s covered, unfortunately it is lit up like McDonald’s, which is not the style of the inside restaurant. They need to turn down the lighting out there and perhaps will be more popular.

One of the coolest places to visit in NYC is Roosevelt Island that you reach via the very cool Tram! The coolest things to do on Roosevelt Island is to go the Granny Anne's. It was the perfect stop for us for a late afternoon break between stops at other city attractions. The staff was very friendly and kind. We ad drinks and nachos which took care of our cravings until dinner in the Village. Will return the next time we're in the city.

Let me begin by saying that our experience was great with everyone we encountered face to face while ordering takeout at this new restaurant. The food was alright, too. I had the chicken sandwich, tasty, and my wife the burger, nothing special but passable. Fries and onion rings were of the frozen bag variety. Once we arrived home, we noticed that they had forgotten the wine we ordered. I called and explained that while we were enjoying the food, they had forgotten the wine. The woman who answered spat back at me with "I don't have any order for any Malbec." I took a breath and asked her if she would like to see the receipt, where the wine was listed and charged accordingly. After a pause she came back and said, "ok, I'll take it off the credit card." I responded that we'd prefer to have the wine, and live on Roosevelt Island, about a 10 minute walk from the restaurant. To this I was informed, "we don't deliver." Her attitude and abruptness made it clear that this was my problem, not Granny Annie's. Might I add we tipped nearly 10 dollars on this order. I hope they are going for tourist money, because they certainly aren't attempting to make a good impression on the community of Roosevelt Island.

Good food bit the experience fainted after getting ripped off in tips. Family of 5 being charged Party fee of 20% direct on the bill. Not OK

One of my friends who has been living in the sector for a long time, I invite us and my God blessed experience the palate, apart from an impressive letter and customer service is one of the most interesting things because you always return to a place where your people are warm and also your food tastes like home within a city like new York your hosts, your waiters, chef and everyone are spectacular beings

Granny Annie’s Bar and Restaurant was a very pleasant find on Roosevelt Island in New York. A nice menu selection was offered. The food was excellent with outstanding service. A nice bar selection was also offered.

We have an apartment on Roosevelt Island, but always have grilled outside overlooking the river, since the weather is getting cooler decided to eat out. Came here last night for the burgers. As a gluten-free person, how wonderful was it was to see a gluten-free delicious fresh soft roll available for my turkey burger! My husband had the regular burger was equally as delicious and perfect. So tonight, after going over to the Hilton panorama rooftop cocktail lounge to have cocktails, we decide to come here again for dinner and try some new options. He had the special Gaelic chicken dish and I had the gluten-free pizza. Both very good. The gluten-free pizza could’ve cooked a little bit more. Was not too crispy was kind of soggy but that’s kind of what I’m used to ha ha! Anyhow, this place has really good food and a very cool vibe. Happy hour whole week until seven. None of the weekends of course but come over and try it out. I hope it stays here forever because it’s really great.

We were 4 adults and 3 children. The order was taken correctly though the server distributed them incorrectly and that meant one had to be sent back. When I requested the check I was given the wrong one that I didn’t notice at the time and I paid it. Later the server returned to say the payment would need to be cancelled and I agreed and paid the revised lesser amount as indicated. However the server gave me another incorrect receipt. When I returned home I noticed the amount that was actually charged to my credit card was significantly more - more like the combined amount of both - I felt I’d been taken advantage of!

We stayed just across the Hudson in queens and couldn't be bothered to go back to Manhattan one nite - came across this cosy place - the food did the trick, prices were ok - the service good. Recommend it for anyone who just need a quick bite without the hassles.

Very good! Good atmosphere, very friendly maid and delicious food (carbonara and chicken baked). Good price! I recommend!

I really liked it, I happened to be there by chance, in Roosevelt Island, right on Sunday brunch time. Salmon and benedict eggs perfect, welcome and service ok, I would recommend it for Sunday in NY, you reach it with the Roosevelt tramway and you're done, it deserves.

[From a visit on September 22, 2021] We stumbled upon Granny Annies Bar & Kitchen exploring Roosevelt Island, so glad we did. We sat at the bar with James and had an incredible experience. The bar is well-stocked, clean, and quite comfortable. James gave us advice on places to explore on the island and suggested their Sliders as a snack with our drinks. Folks, their sliders are FANTASTIC! They had a great beer lineup and James turned me onto a local draft beer which was fantastic. Appreciate the location, the food, and most of all James for his kindness. If you are in NYC and want to have some good food and drink with a kind, down-to-earth bartender, on a hidden gem of an island in NYC, visit James at Granny Anna's, you won't be disappointed.

We have been to this pub on Roosevelt Island twice for lunch. The place is pleasant and the staff very kind. We found both the food (personally I really liked the Shepherd's Pie) and, obviously, the beer excellent. If it doesn't disturb the loud music (typical of this type of place) I would recommend it to anyone who is on Roosevelt Island for lunch.

After a long New York day we were welcomed here and there were the right answers to the calorie deficit

Convenient and well known. We shared a Ruben but it was lacking any creamy horseradish, had very little cheese and the bread got a bit soggy from the sauerkraut. Service was excellent.

Nice surprise on Roosevelt Island while walking around. The prices are standard for NYC, the setting is very nice and the service pleasant. We recommend

Great restaurant option in Roosevelt Island. It is close to the cable car station, has good food, great service and the price a bit expensive.

The California club was amazing as was the strawberry pim drink, the restaurant itself was cute. Our waitress was not in a very big hurry to get us our bill at the end, even though we were. That’s my only complaint.

We visited this location in 2017 before it went out of business and enjoyed it enough to seek it out again. It reopened last year under new management as Granny Annie's and it is a hidden gem, much as Roosevelt Island is. The remodel is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating. We had a nice conversation with the owner and really hope if you visit Roosevelt Island you will seek out Granny Annie's. We certainly will anytime we visit NYC.

Recently opened I think. We were there on Sept 27th.. We've had to eat something .. so caught our eyes on this restaurant. Very busy crowded ! but we've decided to give a chance to eat there. The food was great! But most amazed us was A WAITRESS she was so good. Very friendly in spite of craziness she was professional manner .Well handled . I should have ask her name :):) She was so good! Sat on outside of course. Busy very busy .. Affordable prices to eat out. Thank you Lady . You were fantastic!

We ate here while visiting Roosevelt Island, service was quick and polite. The beer on draught was good and we had the chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries that was lovely and very filling. All in it was great lunch stop.

Fantastic place to visit, staff very attentive, friendly & gave excellent service, food was delicious & good value for money, great music in the background & relaxing atmosphere highly recommend a visit, we are a family of 3 adults visiting from the U.K., thank you for a lovely visit

We decided to visit East Side by taking the cable car that takes us to Roosevelt Island The park is nice and the view of Manhattan different On the return we passed this restaurant which made a good impression on us A typical setting a friendly map and decent prices this has been a very nice lunch break

Typical American bar & restaurant, straight out of a picture book. Food, drink, service, style & flair all very good. Tourists & regulars are treated the same.

Grannie Annie’s is a nice bar and restaurant on Roosevelt Island. Service is friendly and nice indoor and outdoor seating. Good menu and TV’s for sports.

Beautiful outside brunch! Highly recommended! Great variety of very moderate priced meal choices. Delightful staff. Cool breeze and part shade on patio. Food was terrific portions, very fresh and deliciously and beautifully prepared.

We came for dinner and had a reservation. Everything went smoothly when we arrived. And we chose to sit outside because the weather was still warm. We ordered appetizers, cocktails, And a variety of main courses all of which were absolutely delicious. We even ordered dessert and everything was terrific. This is one of the few sit down, more "dining like" restaurants on the island. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend!

This was a great place to eat! All of the workers were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing and we did make sure we came back for a second visit on our short trip. We were in New York for four nights and ate supper here twice. We appreciated the mocktail menu and many gluten free options.

Came to celebrate my Birthday. Chose this location to make my lasting memory. Sad to say the memory was for the bad and not the good. Steak ordered was never seasoned before meeting the grill so was bland and had no taste. Sauce they added could not save it one bit. Service was lack there of. Saw my server walking back and forth randomly but never checked on us. Only time was us forcing an interaction by flagging him down. When we asked for our dessert he made it like it was our fault for his inability to hear it correctly and blame it on is. No Sir apply pie do not sound like chocolate and if you added this from the start you would know. We pointed at it and said it when we ordered. I ran out of water. Ordered beer once. Both been empty for a while. Finally finished our meal and sat and waited for 15 minutes and got tired of waiting. Decided to not waste my birthday on a place that didnt care for me! Left and will never come back.

The food was excellent. The service was good and fast considering the outside area was quite busy. Our waitress Paula was the best. Very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again. All over good experience.

Granny Annie's is just a short walk from the Tramway Station, Subway Station and also the NYC Ferry pier and is excellent. We sat outside which was lovely and great to watch the world go by as we enjoyed lunch. The staff were so friendly and there was plenty of choice on the menu. I went for Annie's Burrito Breakfast (I think that's what it was called) and it was a huge portion and absolutely delicious. Mrs Jock went for the French Toast and again huge portion and she loved it. Mrs Jock also enjoyed the coffee and I approved of the great choice of beers :-). Lovely bar and restaurant with an outside seating area as well as a cosy interior, great friendly staff and delicious food.......just perfect and highly recommended :-)

Great little place, staff were friendly and welcoming and the cheesecake was amazing!!!! We also had beer, wine, and great hot chocolate

We had just flown in earlier in the day and I was craving a fresh salad...they delivered! Our table ordered diverse options and all we good. Wish we had gone here again instead of the Italian restaurant across the courtyard...hint, hint.
A great lunch on a chilly day.
After walking Roosevelt Island on a chilly day, this place had just what I needed. Had a Guinness, shepherd’s pie, and NY cheesecake with raspberry drizzle. That cheesecake was fabulous. Maybe it can be had at other restaurants. I don’t know. Nice pub atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor dining.
