Harney & Sons offers a wide variety of the highest quality leaves. Their soho location is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of SoHo. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and proud to show off what the store has to offer. My favorite specialty blend is Mint Verbena which comes in a wrapped tea sachet that allows room for whole leaf tea to expand fully and infuse completely. Not only can you buy your favorite tea here, there are great tea gifts and accessories. Take a break and have a spot of tea in the back.

Wonderful, spacious tea emporium. Two teas if the day to sample, if you'd like to. Lovely triangular, silky-type tea bags in metal canisters, huge flavor selections, lovely to give as gifts, or gift to yourself! I received a Harney & Sons beautiful tin of Decaf Hot Cinnamon Tea---lived it so much, & wanted to buy more. I happily discovered this beautiful Soho location. I intend to take time & enjoy the cafe on my next visit--have not had the pleasure yet, but I look forward to it very much--I've heard it's great, with wonderful scones, too. And other yummy food selections.

I re-visited with a friend/colleague after visiting a year ago and loving it. It was much livelier/busier this time around but still fab and chilled out. It's a big long unit, the vast proportion of which is a retail shop selling pre-pack tea bags and leaves of every possible variety, along with cute tea pots, cups and mugs plus a small selection of teas and linen. There is also a tea counter with teas sold by weight and with free tastings. The back of the shop has a small tea room - there it's only around 8 tables and there was a bit of a queue whilst we where eating. The tea is great quality and the staff seem very knowledgable and happy to make recommendations. I especially liked the winter white earl grey. We also had scones which where served warm with jam and cream. Very enjoyable and it's a lovely relaxing environment.

Nice atmosphere if you wanna enjoy a nice tea in Soho area. Nice shop to get at home your favorite tea. Nice and friendly staff

With the exception of Harney's in Millerton, this little tea shoppe/Oasis is second to none. Its great to have a place in NYC where you can try high quality teas in a relaxed atmosphere with knowledgeable salespeople available to answer your questions on tea. One of the key features of Harney's is the ability to purchase loose tea samples for tasting at home. Many of the online tea retailers (Adagio is one of my favorite tea vendors and a few of their white and black teas even are a bit better than Harney's at a substantial savings). Nice Job Harney!

The clothing stores of SoHo can get monotonous, but Harney & Sons is a welcome treat. They have walls of teas to choose from and they are all high quality. Many of the teas have descriptive packaging so you can read about all the different types available. If you're not sure, just ask for some suggestions or try one of their classics like "Paris" or "White Christmas" The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. At the main counter they will (expertly) prepare any tea of your choice as a trial. That means they will use the correct temperature water for the tea, and steep it for the appropriate amount of time. There's also a few curated selections ready to taste too. It's a simple store, but if you like tea or want to give it a first try — this is the place to do it.

I first had Harney & Sons Tea in Bermuda and fell in love with it. I was walking around Soho and stumbled across it. I went in and had a lovely pot of tea and a scone. Nice find, can't wait to go back.

If you can snag one of the few tables at the back of this gorgeous shop, do it. We came in out of a rainstorm and were delighted that there was an open table. The servers are happy to recommend a tea if you have questions. Don't miss out on the delectable vanilla cream scones. Delicious with clotted cream and jam.

My husband and I stopped into Harney's since we were staying at the hotel next door and were intrigued by the window display. He had heard about matcha, Japanese green tea, and was curious about it. We asked one of the employees about it, and she explained the differences among the various blends of matcha. Then, she made some for us to taste, detailing what temperature the water should be and showing us how to measure the correct amount with a little bamboo scoop and how to blend it into the water with a bamboo whisk. Lovely and elegant! We bought some and have been enjoying it immensely. We didn't eat, just shopped.

Primarily a retail store with a small tea-bar in the back. Huge tea selection for purchase and knowledgable sales agents. Each customer can request a tasting of one tea.

We stopped in to try the tea just before we checked out of the hotel. We didn't realize they had salads. The salads were very good, the tea excellent. The service was a bit slow, but we still enjoyed the experience

Admittedly Harney & Sons is my fave tea brand so I'm bound to have good things to say about them, and for a good reason! The tea is simply excellent and the treats are delicious. It's a good introduction to fine tea quality without being pretentious. The macrons were also a nice treat too!

we had a small tea lunch and all was lovely, food, tea and service. There is a small shop to buy tea and tea things.

Located on the ground floor, this zen-like studio was a perfect tea break after exploring the Soho neighborhood. Their savory cheddar and chive scone hit the spot with a cup of their perfectly brewed tea.

Their loose teas are sold in the front of the shop along with the tins of tea bags. I am not a fan of the teas in a bag the loose teas are superior. The cafe in the back is a small slice of heaven. Limited number of tables they do reservations. The tea menu is huge and amazing, try the Florence it is chocolate hazelnut tea. The vanilla Cremona is also amazing. Green teas cleaning and delightful. Another favorite earl gray and they have degrees of bergamot! They cheeses...excellent, scones amazing, lavender honey macaroons are so beautiful I dream about them. Great stop for a civilized break. Cool hip neighborhood. Beautiful shop worth walking into for a taste of tea. Tea makes a great gift for the holidays, host or hostess give when everyone else brings wine and flowers. Love this place!

I didn't actually have a chance to sit down but the shop itself is delightful with all sorts of wonderful smelling teas and jams and other quirky objects such as matches, bags, wallets, etc. Well worth a visit.

We had a great time, great tea, scones and service in the tea lounge and ended up buying quite a bit of tea in the store. However, two of the teas we wanted were in dented or scratched tins. As they were being given as gifts, I asked if they had tins that were not damaged...to which the "gentleman" server said "really? You want another tin?" Not a great customer service response that nearly cost him a sale and recommendation. Fortunately, the tea lounge server made up for it.

Popped in again for a lovely pot of tea. Brewed to perfection & reasonably priced. Also stocked up on my favourite Winter White Earl Grey tea to bring back to the Uk. Very reasonably priced and brings a little bit of calm to the days shopping in Soho.

In the midst of a day of shopping/walking through Tribeca and Soho, we happened upon the Harney & Sons Soho. My companion is a huge Harney & Sons fan, Paris being her personal favorite. I am a Lapsang Souchong fan, most any brand will suffice. After a few minutes of tea shopping we noticed the little cafe area in the back. A fresh brewed ice tea for me (with free refills, no less), hot tea for the companion, and a few little snacks rejuvenated the body. The lack of pressure and the relaxing mood rejuvenated the mind. The lady manning the cafe area could not have been more accommodating, a truly gem of a find.

Whenever we are in the vicinity of Soho, we save Harney & Sons for an afternoon break. It's a quiet, delightful oasis in the middle of a bustling area. Stopping in for some tea and scones is a great way to recharge your batteries while feeling sophisticated. The tastes and smells delight the senses, and ensure that you will walk out with a purchase.

I love tea, and I love Harney's teas. We stayed next door at the Broome and only had 10 minutes to check it out... but I will definitely recommend it to anybody who prefers unique good teas.

Stop here for a relaxing cup of tea and delicious scones. After a day of sight-seeing, we were exhausted and this was the perfect place for a mother-daughter cuppa. The vanilla scones and biscotti are excellent and the waitress was friendly. It's my favorite tea place in NYC!

It was a cold, wet, and windy day in NYC. I was wondering around, not sure what to do or where to go, when low-and-behold, I found myself in front of Harney & Sons. Yes! I entered, and was treated to a warn, cozy, amazing smelling shoppe, filled to its rafters of every kind, flavor, and taste of teas imaginable. Suffice it to say, I tasted several teas, and happily left with a bag of purchased treats for myself and friends. The shoppe is dark woods, warm colors and flavors, and the staff is both incredibly knowledgeable and so very friendly. Honestly, this was such a wonderful surprise, it made my entire trip. This is definitely a place every tea-lover needs to enjoy.

I've been buying teas from Harney and sons for a long time and love them ! while visiting NYC we decided to stop by and taste some teas . I ended up buying lots of teas, the staff are so nice, let you taste teas, give you advice and ideas , what a wonderful experience in their tea room ! and great pastry !

This is a 3.5 star review. While I'm not fanatic about Harney and Sons' teas, I do believe they are doing a "tea-rific" job of demystifying tea to the masses. I enjoyed reading Michael Harney's "Guide to Tea" book and my work actually sells H&S teas. That being said, I do hope to find a tea that will really "wow" me enough to warrant a repeat purchase. This review is based solely on the Tea Lounge. The Tea Lounge is located in the back of the SoHo shop and seats about 25 guests. The seating arrangements are more suited to parties of 2-4 guests, and solo sippers are encouraged to sit at the counter. This is a high volume area due to a variety of reasons: 1. The restroom is located in the back of the Tea Lounge, so guests of the Tea Lounge as well as paying and non-paying customers make their way back their to use the facilities. It's a single toilet for both sexes. It was fairly clean when I used it myself, but I also lower my standards when it comes to restrooms in NYC restaurants. This is a clean, serviceable restroom, by NYC standards. 2. A sign instructs guests to wait to be seated, but half of the time, people view this sign as "TL;DR" and barge in to claim an empty table, only to be told by an employee that it's not first-come, first-serve, and makes them vacate the table. 3. For guests who are waiting for a table, their name is written on a list. While they are waiting for their name to be called, they mill near the entrance of the Tea Lounge, creating bottleneck traffic. Rinse, rather, and repeat 1-3. On top of this, they only have two employees running the lounge...for 25 guests. Now it could be that they normally schedule four employees, because we were seated there for nearly an hour and when we were ready to leave, two other employees came out to help bus tables and take orders. So it could be entirely possible that they were either on break or they were coming in for their shift. When we arrived, there were three tables or 9 seats available, not including a couple of counter seats. I gave my name to one of the tea lounge employees and we waited about 10-15 minutes before he found us and we got seated. The tea menu, of course, took up multiple pages, while the food offerings was limited to a single page. For food offerings, it was divided into savory items, nuts, and sweet items. As tea is the main draw, the food accompanies the tea. Don't expect to get a full meal at the Tea Lounge. But if you want a cup of tea and a snack, then this would be a good option. Tea is offered in two sizes: small ($6) or large ($8) teapot, with a $1 surcharge for premium tea. If you want the staff to reserve your tea leaves for a second steeping, that will be an additional $3. (I think this price gouging is to discourage people from lingering longer than necessary.) The small teapot is supposed to serve one, but I was able to enjoy 4 large mugfuls of my tea, so I think a small pot is enough for two people, but most people tend to order a single teapot for themselves. We ordered the vanilla scones, ham and guyere scones, and two small pots of tea. I wanted the Nahorhabi Full Leaf but it was unavailable, so I ordered "Hao Ya 'B'", which is a China black tea with some honey/molasses notes that I thought would pair well with our sweet and savory scones. My friend selected a Wenshan Baozhong oolong. The scones were small but not supersized, like the ones at Alice's Tea Cup. They were flaky and buttery. The ham and guyere was a surprise standout. It had small cubes of ham that balanced well with the Guyere. If you enjoy cheddar biscuits, you'll like this. You didn't even need the mustard. The vanilla scones come with proper clotted cream and strawberry jam. Pro-tip: always spread the clotted cream first, as it allows its rich deliciousness to enter the nooks and crannies of the scone, plus it serves as a base for the jam. While I thought my tea tasted a wee bit over steeped, I don't have much to complain about the product. But as mentioned earlier, with two employees for 25 guests on a busy Sunday afternoon, service was slooow. A party of four was seated next to us and got up and left because no one came to take their order. As we it was our last day in NY before heading back to DC, I decided to take initiative and go up to the counter myself to close our bill, otherwise we would have been there for longer than an hour. Overall, I was glad we tried out the Tea Lounge, but I'm not anxious to experience it again the next time I visit NY.

Delicious tea and snacks. Beautiful space ... high, high ceilings and wide variety of teas for drinking and taking home. Very friendly staff would definitely drive me back for another visit.

My two daughters and I were here last (rainy) Saturday. The ambience is very attractive and relaxing, the wait staff was very helpful guiding us thru the bewildering variety of teas. Can highly recommend the macaroons! We had a most enjoyable time in the quiet, unrushed atmosphere.

I stopped in for a cup of tea, and as the store looks lovely and oldie worldie English styling I kind of expected a little more. I got my tea in a PAPER cup. It was filled to the brim. It was a HUGE cup. No room for milk. So I asked them to pour about half of the tea out. There was no way I could drink the size cup I had been given, and no way milk would fit in it. The paper cup made it too hot to handle. Too hot to drink. There are bathrooms at the back of the store :)

We happened upon Harley & Sons Soho while strolling around Soho. Stopped in for a cup of tea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In the back there is a small seating area for tea-very casual-not a fancy high tea salon-just informal and easy. We enjoyed Earl Grey tea with short bread cookies, biscotti and scones. The server was very friendly and did not rush us at all. The front of the store is dedicated to what looked like hundred of different teas-very interesting place. I would definitely return.

I sat at the cafe in the back and had a cup of herbal tea (Mother's Bouquet -- it has rose in it), the vanilla scones, and a lychee-rose flavored macaron. They were all good. You can get a proper tea service here. I also got to sample different teas they had brewed -- black tea, a flavored green tea, olive leaf herbal tea, and a different herbal tea. It was relaxing and enjoyable. They have free wifi. I then went to the shop in the front and bought a gorgeous sparkly bowl for matcha, a matcha whisk, a million different teas, and some pretty matches.

Beautiful place, just next to The Broome Hotel, with huge selection of Teas and tea based refreshments. Tasting events throughout the day.

I've loved Harney & Sons' teas for about 5 years now, and I was thrilled to discover that they had a tea lounge in SoHo, as I was staying in the neighborhood. I was so pleased with my experience there that I returned on my last afternoon. To eat, I had the cheese and chive scone, which was moister than many scones I have had elsewhere, and excellently paired with butter which was mixed with mustard. I had never had that sort of savory butter before, and while it was not as easy to spread as other butters I've had, the flavor was lovely. I also enjoyed the gravlax with cream cheese on rice crackers. As far as tea, I really enjoyed the Dragon Pearl, which was Jasmine mixed with Lily of the Valley. Highly recommended. The Mother's Bouquet was less enjoyable--I'm not a huge lemon person, so it tasted a bit bitter to me. Looking forward to returning on my next trip!

I enjoy tea and liked the experience and ambiance here. They offer you a free cup of your choice of tea as well. The staff was knowledgeable (although some were friendlier than others). Most importantly the price is not outrageous. After paying WAY too much at Teavana and other tea joints, the price for most loose tea here is $8 for 4 oz.. bargain for good quality tea, plus many of them come in nice tins (that you don't have to pay extra for)!

While trying to find a convenient spot to meet with an out of town friend, I was pleased to find that Harney & Sons - a well known upstate NY tea store - had opened an outpost in Soho. The place is large and lovely; high ceilings, vintage furnishings, and a huge selection of tea and related accessories. In the back, there is a small sit down tea parlor with a long menu of teas, short menu of food. I'm not a tea expert but their Indian chai was delicious and beautifully presented. We also had cheddar scones, for which they are justly well known. Just scrumptious, so much that we ordered a second serving of two scones. We also tried their smoked salmon, which was a nice size serving for the price. This is a bit of an off the beaten track tea parlor which I highly recommend if you want a place quiet enough to chat and relax.

I always enjoyed teas and a friend happened to gift me with a Harney and Son's Bangkok Green tea. It is probably one of the best teas I have ever had (In Green Tea). From that point, I had been wanting to visit Harney and Son's to try their other teas. Lucky for me, there was a google offer for the SoHo shop and I was thrilled to go! Going in the store, it was a spacious and clean place with a giant wall lined with tea tins. They also sell tea pots, cups, sugars, candies and other neat items. In the back is a small cafe which I didn't have time to try but hope to visit when I go back. The woman who helped me was very nice and VERY patient as I was new to trying different teas. She allowed me to smell the different teas, offered some great selections. I tried several teas and actually left with 5 teas! Best part, even without the coupon, the teas were not that expensive for the amount of cups it would provide. I will DEFINITELY be going again! Tip: I went on a Wednesday (Weekday) when it was not very crowded as I knew that I would need some time. They even said, it was a good day because they could take time with me and give some really nice information. On the weekends, from what I gather, it is crowded.

I have purchased a number of teas from Harney & Sons either by mail or at shops back home so visiting their tea tasting room during our trip to New York was on my to-do list. They offer visitors one free tea tasting of your choice plus tastes of their teas of the day. The sales clerks are helpful and I ended up purchasing small (2oz) amounts of six different teas to take home. They sell small sample bags of loose tea but for just a small amount of more money you can purchase the smallest amount of loose tea that they sell (2oz) and get a lot more for your money. Buying these small samples will brew several pots of tea at home and I can try more varieties than I could though mail order when the minimum amount of each tea is larger.

The place has tea! Lots of varieties to try (but you are limited to one tasting). The selection is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. As you'd expect, it's premium cost but if you are into tea, it's well worth it.

I lived in NY my whole life, and I cant believe I just found this place. Its on a quieter block than the touristy Broadway (which is right near by), and based on my experiences, it seems more laid back and calm. They have a huge (and for the most part, affordable and reasonably priced) variety of teas, and really cute mugs/teapots as well (although those seemed a bit overpriced). The cafe closes early (I think 6 pm), so I wasn't able to check that out, but the place is small and it seems nice. There is free tasting, and I was pleasantly surprised to be given a full cup of tea to taste. The women working there seemed to know their stuff, and were helpful. However, I was a little disappointed that its only one tasting per person - I think it would be better if you could do multiple tastings in smaller portions. I ended up buying two types of tea anyway, but I have no idea what the second one tastes like! That being said, I felt more comfortable buying it because they give a 10% discount to students with ID (they give other discounts, but I don't remember what for).

I love there tea it is amazing. It is a bit expensive but the blend and the taste of it makes you forget about the price!

Stopped in for a mid-morning quick tea. I was disappointed - only offered a paper cup for an in "restaurant" beverage. The server said cups were only for those requesting teapot service. The scones looked good and were available at pre-lunchtime. Maybe I will try them next time.

I recently discovered Harney and Sons so a stop here was a must on my recent trip to NYC. They offer a wide selection of teas and a tasting bar to try before you buy. Be sure to sign up on their website with your email before you go to take advantage of any offers. Harney and Sons makes wonderful tea and I highly recommend their product. I highly recommend a visit to this shop for their product and friendly, helpful staff.

You can pick from dozens of teas and you can get a free sample of one selection. When in NYC I try to get a years worth of tea each visit. Plus the staff is very helpful in finding you the right selection.

We always stop in when in the area. Nice and knowledgeable people. Great tea and gifts! Hot cinnamon spice will warm you right up!

Trying to get a server on the phone is impossible! You'll have better luck at a casting call for the next big Hollywood film! Nobody picks up the phone !

Long time customer of the catalog and in Barnes and Noble but in person is a great experience. Michael Harney and family made this a great spot to sip, enjoy, and purchase tea. The staff knows their stuff so ask. Highly recommend Summer Peach,Paris, and Soho teas. Taste sensation that will transport you!

I'm a tea addict and I loved this place. It was like being in Disney World with so many kinds of teas. I didn't know which ones to get, I wanted to buy them all! It has a little café/tea room. Totally recommend it if you like goos tea.

Fantastic little (not so much) shop dedicated to the art of drinking tea. After wandering about you may ask and taste 2 different teas.there's a small 'teafeteria' at the end with service for tea,of course, and petit fours that were delicious. The small cans are very beautiful and you may buy a $7 gift way back home:success is guaranteed.

On my last trip to NYC I really wanted to go to Harney & Sons to stock up on some of my favorite teas. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. They had no problem taking down a dozen teas to let me smell them. I left with 4 or 5 tins of tea and didn't break the bank, which is nice. They have a small tea room area in the back and lots of tea related things for sale. They even have a cooler with bottled teas for sale.

Stumbled upon this SoHo tea shop and since I'm a tea lover, I popped in to check out their teas. I was thrilled to see that they had an actual place to sit and have scones and tea, so I got a table. The menu was good with all sorts of little finger food type goodies like roasted nuts, canapes, cheeses, and bakery fresh scones that sounded super yummy. The selection of teas was fantastic and organized by varietal and origin, including oolong, white, blends and more. You could have your tea served either hot or iced. I chose a hot coconut green tea while hubby went with their most popular flavored black tea, Paris, on ice. I ordered scones too but we were so disappointed because they were sold out of EVERY scone on the menu. Boo! I am docking them 2 stars just for that because a tea shop on a Saturday afternoon ought to bake plenty of scones (that has to be the most popular tea time ever). High tea without scones? Ain't nobody got time for that! I cannot comment on the snacks since I didn't order any, but the teas were perfectly brewed to the appropriate strength and the flavors were good. A small pot of tea is $6 and a large pot is $8, where one small glass of iced tea will set you back $3. I think it's a bit pricey for what you get but it's a lovely place to drop in for a quick tea break. The store is great too, with all sorts of loose teas as well as tea-themed gifts. I picked up an adorable tea towel with mice on it and a tea flavored lip balm that I adore. The loose tea I bought is good but the tea leaves aren't very big (it looks more like the inferior ground tea that you'd find in a lower quality tea bag). It tastes delicious, but I'm not impressed with the quality of the leaves in relation to the price of the tea. I have to use a lot of tea leaves when I brew at home and I always get those yucky little black floaties at the bottom from the tiny grounds seeping through. That's a sign of tea that shouldn't be on the top shelf.

We did the tea for two and really enjoyed ourselves. The tea milkshake was a stand out! Also they have a huge tea selection.

I might be a little biased because I love Harney & Sons teas and order from them quite often. On a recent one day trip to New York, I made time to stop here. It was a hot, humid day and a huge carafe of their iced tea (they'll ice anything on the menu) really hit the spot. They also have lots of pastries, but we were heading to lunch soon, so I just tried a few macaroons which were quite good. After looking on their website before our trip, I was surprised by the shop. It was much larger than I expected. In the front is a large store with a long bar on the left side and tables and shelves on the right. At the bar, they have a few teas to taste and you can also buy loose tea to take home. The store stocks lots of different tea cups, trays, iced tea glasses, carafes, etc. and has many things that they don't offer on the website including tea themed t-shirts. I wish I could have purchased more in the shop but I couldn't fit much in my suitcase. In the back of the shop, there is a little cafe with about 6 tables and another bar. You sit and they bring you a huge menu of teas all of which can be served hot or iced. You can also sit at the bar if you like. I was worried that it might be crowded, but apparently people don't love tea as much as me because we had no problem getting a seat despite how small it is. There were maybe four other groups in the entire shop at that time.

Harney & Sons produces wonderful teas, and we're always happy to find places that offer it. So, visiting the shop was a must on our tour list. When we discovered that they offered tea and snacks in the back we were overjoyed! After smelling tins of good tea, you really want a cup or two, so we ventured back to the small service area and ordered a couple of small pots of tea and discovered they had some tasty food items! It's difficult to find savory scones so when we saw the cheddar and chive scones we had to have those, and I read that they offered Lapsang Gravlax On Rice Crackers with a green tea cream cheese - I mean, that sounds amazing. It was. The gravlax was so tender and flavorful and that green tea cream cheese - it was such a perfect snack! The scone was really good too! It was such a nice unplanned treat!

Another one of my must visit places when in NYC. The shop is amazing and the tea room at the back is a little gem. The warm scones are delicious and there's a range of tea to sit any taste. The iced teas are particularly refreshing. Only down side is the tables are squashed in which is a little uncomfortable when It's busy - they could easily claim a little space from the very large shop floor to overcome this.

We first visited this lovely tea shop for one of their wonderful events. We were able to taste a few teas and had some wonderful sweet treats. We had a great time! They have so many beautiful teapots and settings along with great mugs. We were able to buy some great teas and cookies and were given some excellent samples as well. I later found out that they have an excellent every day menu which offers great seasonal choices. They also have an excellent Tea for Two or One, which offers a great selection.

My kids love tea and Harney and Sons on Broome St is their favorite. Go in to try their black teas, sit down for a little pot of delish Cinnamon Spice or use their big potty in the back... Great pots and ceramic cups as well - fun and a must stop in winter months but don't miss in any season

There is an amazing choice of teas at Harney and Sons Soho. We also had their vanilla scones with cream and jam. As good a scone as I have had in Britain. The service was low-key and friendly. The coloured tea pots are very cute. Of course, we bought some tins of tea to bring home and some tea mugs.

Since I don't like coffee and only drink tea, I was looking for a tea shop that would brew a cup of tea from loose tea leaves not bags. I found it at this tea shop. What a wonderful selection. I got a cup of the Assam Golden Tips to go. It cost a little over $3 and was very good. I wish I had had time to try some of the other black teas. I did not have a chance to try any of the food. They had a nice variety of teas - and tea ware and I enjoyed looking around while my tea was being brewed. Very nice staff.

Choice and knowledge are simply great in this shop. You have the opportunity to try several teas and there is also a small part where one can sit down and have a tea and a small bite to eat. The choice of food is small, but this won't be the reason why you go to this place ... ! For those who love tea - a simple must !

I took my tea loving husband here for a little birthday surprise last Saturday. Here are my thoughts: * Amazing selection of tea. I had the Vanila Comoro and it was fantastic! I bought a container to take, I liked it that much. * Spotless store and restaurant. I was really impressed with the ambiance. * Prices very reasonable. * Scones are delicious and the jam and cream are perfect as well. * Service is friendly and quick. But here's where I knocked off one star: our server knew very little about the different types of teas. He suggested that we taste them at the bar before we chose one to order, but when my husband attempted to do this the staff at the bar said he could only taste one tea. This is totally fine, just wish the waiter hadn't told us differently. Overall this place is great. I can't wait to go back again.

Harney & Sons has some of the best tea in the world. The Soho location makes picking up more of my favorites and having a cup when I'm in the city easy. The decor is comfortable but simple as a tea bar should be.

I have been to their Millerton shop twice & really wanted a chance to visit the Soho shop. I am glad I got the chance to visit. the service was awesome! the girl that was behind the tasting counter had worked there for several years & knew her product very well. I love Harney's tea & they certainly didn't disappoint. this location isn't far from a subway stop & is near a bunch of retail shops.

I love Harney&sons,it's simple store but,but if you like a tea this the place to do it. The staff were all happy to help and really passionate about teas. Very reasonable price give you a little bit of calm after crazy days at work in Soho.
Tea heaven
I wandered into this store based on the fact that this is a internationally recognized American tea company that I have enjoyed the products of. The staff were all happy to help out with tea purchases and tastings. If you check into Yelp while at the store, you can get a free sample ( Aprox. 4 cups worth of tea) of any tea. Also, if you like their Facebook page, they will give you an additional tasting of your choice on top of the 2 free tastings they already allow. The staff are passionate about teas and able to reccomend and help you find what you are looking for. Another huge plus is that their loose leaf teas are quite affordable even though the quality seems very high.
