We had a lovely night at Hey Thai. The restaurant has a Cosy and trendy interior design. Good food for a good price. Friendly staff.

Tasted Sexy Duck roast and it was good. We ordered variety of dishes and it all tasted fine. Restroom was neat but it’s one common gender neutral restroom.

This restaurant is very nice! It’s very pretty and the food is delicious:) The vibe is very authentic too, and the waiters are nice. I would come here again.

We did takeout. Our issue is that we felt it was a bit overpriced considering the quality of the main course and portion sizes. If you dine indoors, the atmosphere appeared very pleasant, with some lovely decorative pieces, nice furnishings, warmly lit and lively music with a good beat/vibe. Service appeared to be very good (remember, we did take out). The two soups were ordered were fairly good - Coconut soup ($8) for an "abbreviated" pint (about 3/4 full) (we ordered chicken to be added for an extra $1) was pleasantly creamy, and had good flavor with an ample amount of good-quality white meat chicken and fresh mushrooms. The Tom Yum soup ($8 for "abbreviated" pint) (we ordered shrimp, $2 added on) was also quite good...moderately but not overwhelmingly spicy. The shrimp were nicely sized, well-portioned and were quite good in terms of flavor. We'd say the soups scored positive points. The smaller-sized portions ARE amply-sized for one person and "okay" for two persons. The larger size (~$15-$17) are quart-sized containers that are probably 3/4 filled. Appetizer: Chicken Satey ($12) appetizer was good...four skewers with small pieces of chicken each and quite excellent peanut sauce. One might say a touch pricy considering the quality and quantity offered. Main course: the major disappointment was the $28 Black Pepper steak. Sorry to say, the beef was a bit dry, but worse: some pieces (perhaps half) were chewy and tough, and a few were grizzled. Sorry, this dish did NOT win us over. The vegetables were al dente and the sauce was excellent, and white rice (good portion). Given the lower quality of the beef: not worth the $28 price tag. With tax only (no tip), $64.22. $7 beers (ea) during Happy Hour, figure $90-95 for two. We're not absolutely sure we'd go again...we live close by and love Thai food, but the grizzled beef sent a strong message. This review is based on a single experience...and we all know true restaurant critics visit the establishment two to three times before they render what we hope to be a balanced opinion. We WILL have a chat with the manager in regards to the main course. We understand that as the city recovers from the Covid debacle, it's very difficult for ANY restaurant to make good money paying the exorbitant rents restauranteurs pay...and have to cut back on quality to make ends meet.

We went there for lunch, and all lunch special was $14 each. I had Pad Tai, and it’s pretty good ! Interior was very cute and service was good too!

Hip, bright, open spot in the financial district. They serve the typical Thai fare—drunken noodles, spring rolls, curry, Thai inspired salads, pork dishes, duck dishes, pad Thai, fried rice. They don’t have a specific spice scale like many Thai restaurants, but I requested “extra spicy,” and it was pleasantly hot. The fun thing about this place is their fun sake/drink menu. They have sake flights as well as creative sake fusion cocktails, such as the Thai iced tea iced tea mojito. Service is fast and awesome! Everyone is so attentive and kind! The prices are reasonable, especially for Manhattan. The food is fresh. My drunken noodles came with a whole literal bunch of fresh basil. It was crisp and delish. My veggie egg rolls were hot and crunchy. Another perk: New York doesn’t stay up as late as it used to. Hey Thai stays open until between 10 and 11 PM depending on the day.

I love Thai food. My sister had never tried it. I had Green Curry with Chicken. My sister ordered Drunken Noodles. Both dishes were delicious and plentiful 😋 😋

Great place for Thai food. Good selection and variety, nice atmosphere and super yummy dishes. Service is on point. Clean, delicious and overall very pleasant place. Highly recommend to check it out!

Great area with excellent ambiance and plenty of space! We ordered the peanut dumplings, pad Thai and massaman curry, very tasty! The staff was also incredibly attentive.

Great place! Super nice people! Fun drinks and vibes. Will come back for more food portions were a good size. Nice area to be in.

The setting was amazing! Experience an outdoor feel indoors! The environment was clean and welcoming. Attentive waiters. The food was well seasoned and beautifully presented!

Staying in financial district and found this Thai restaurant. This spot was great for happy hour. Delicious mango mojitos and dumplings were amazing.

Great food, an even better price, fast service, and amazing vibes. They’ve been incredibly responsive, and have made our visit amazing.

Best Thai I have ever had, honestly! had dinner and came back for lunch the next day. Great spot and great service. Worth coming back to New York for!

We decided to give Hey Thai a try during a weekend trip to New York City, as it’s conveniently located near the Seaport where we were staying. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere—though it’s not a large space, it didn’t feel cramped or crowded. Our server was a bit loud and direct, but it wasn’t a major issue for us. As for the food, it was solid overall. Not the best Thai we’ve ever had, but definitely not the worst either. We tried a variety of dishes, including the chicken satay, pork belly, Tom Kha Gai soup, spicy Thai fried rice, Massaman curry, and Thai basil chicken. Everything was tasty, and we left satisfied. All in all, Hey Thai made for a good dinner spot during our stay.

Beautiful establishment with eye catching interior design. So cute and detailed, not to mention the food is delicious. Service is amazing, super speedy and to the point. Love it

This spot is a great spot with great food and I enjoyed the ambiance. Would recommend coming again. I got the spicy basil fried rice

Delicious food, great service in a very pretty restaurant. A great choice if you're in the Financial District. Highly recommended.

On December 25, we were housed in Facexau Sonder and everything was closed except for this Thai place opposite. Lots of people, a pad thai for my wife and a pineapple rice with chicken for me. Very good, very filling and very reasonable at $16. Well they could be a little more friendly, to work but good cooking is essential

After having lived in Thailand for three years, I have become a Thai food snob. It just happened. What can I say. I fell in love with a culture of food many chefs consider some of the most freshest, flavorful foods in the world. Given that I am a snob about having good Thai food, I have been unabashedly critical of Thai food I have tried all over the world. Even in the Thai hotbed (just kidding) of Atlanta, Georgia, where I live now. It is rare that I find good Thai food. Now I will admit up front - I am only giving my review here what I ordered - the Khao Soi Gai, a traditional Thai dish, more traditional than any other curry you will find in a Thai restaurant. Khao Soi is a curry that finds its roots in Northern Thailand, in Chiang Mai, and in and around other parts of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. To me, it is a true dish of Thailand with a flavor unmatched - if done right - as compared to green, yellow or other curry dishes. So the taste ... I opened the take-out bag and found the Khao Soi in a pint sized container. In a separate container, I found the noodles. While the additional accompaniments were missing - the pickled mustard greens, fried noodles and shallots (I prefer red onions actually), that wasn't a big deal. It was the Khao Soi curry I wanted to taste as to its authenticity. The verdict: perfect. The spices hit me right away as Khao Soi. The curry was spicy to the point of taste, so as to not throw one's taste buds off. The noodles were cooked evenly with no stuck noodles i.e. they were cooked the way they should be. Now the "Goi" part of the meal, the chicken. In Thailand you are given a drum stick as the chicken in your meal. It is placed in the middle of the bowl of Khao Soi and you pick it apart with your spoon and fork (there are no knives at the table in traditional Thai restaurants. I got so good at using a spoon to eat food I have thrown out my knives - ok, just kidding again. At Hey Thai, they gave me half of a chicken, all cut up, so I was able to constantly place pieces of chicken in the curry as I went along. It was filling. This one meal could easily feed two people. My recommendation is try the dish in the restaurant. I was there at 5:00 when they opened and that could have led to their miss-step on the accompaniments. No big deal to me. When I am back in NY, I will be heading back to Hey Thai to try some of my other Thai favorites on their menu. I probably will love them as well. Have fun!

Great neighborhood Thai place that always has seating and never disappoints. I get the crab Rangoon and chicken pad Thai. The golden mushrooms are good as well

Great spot for Thai food. Such a nice ambient place. Please visit. The ingredients in the food was great and all of it was fresh.

Fantastic service and food. The lavender Collins cocktail was amazing, along with the food. The atmosphere is great, too. Really great spot in FiDi

Nice restaurant with bar and good atmosphere. Really liked the decor inside. Delicious food, great price. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Do not let the nice decoration to fool you. Food is horrible. Papaya salad - wet like it was flooded. Chicken - probably set for days on the fridge. Hope we will pass the night OK. AVOID

My family and I arrived at our hotel around 8 pm on a cold weeknight and immediately headed out to the South Street Seaport to get dinner. To our disappointment, most of the restaurants there were already closed, so we decided to find someplace along the walk back to the hotel. That's when we literally stumbled across Hey Thai. We only noticed it because of the lights and leafy decorations that adorned the construction scaffolding that semi-hides the entrance. Once inside, we were greeted by a beautiful array of green plants and fountains that gave a rainforest vibe. And the food matched the vibrant atmosphere. My wife had the Pad See-Ew, a dish with wide rice noodles, chicken and chinese broccoli in a black soy sauce and she said it was tasty. I opted for the Mango Chicken off the Chef's Specials and it was freaking amazing with a fresh mango and huge chunks of chicken in a sweet, thick mango sauce. with a cup of steamed rice. We also got the shrimp rolls, which are exactly what it sounds like -- a large deep fried shrimp rolled in a spring roll wrapper with a sweet plum sauce. The best part is that the prices were extremely reasonable for such great food, especially by lower Manhattan standards. It was an enjoyable dinner that got our trip to New York off to a great start!

Hey Thai has an incredible atmosphere with delicious food. the portions were big and tasty. I will come back for sure! Good ambiance to post Instagram stories.

Great food and cool place :) nice cocktail place, check this place if you are here somewhere in this part of the city! :)))

Great restaurant, excellent service. Amazing food!! Highly recommended, one of the best Thai restaurants on New York

This place is newly opened and an absolute gem. Wonderfully tasting thai dishes iserved in classy surroundings and on design porcelain. And at low prices too. What more can you expect!

Went here with a large group and I ordered the Thai Fried Rice with Basil and Chicken, which was very nice. Little bit like Ga Prow which is my favourite Thai dish. Asked them to make it Thai Spicy, so it had a nice kick. They also serve bottled Chang and tons of cool cocktails. Puddings looked amazing although I didn’t get mine coz I don’t think he understood my Queen’s English 😉 a very nice spot for some good Thai food and atmosphere…
Good Thai food
I didn't realize this was going to be a sit down restaurant - I'd been intending to go to a counter service place for time reasons. I didn't feel comfortable walking out after walking in, so I ate here anyway. The service was actually pretty fast. The menu is extensive, and the atmosphere is pretty nice. I had the vegetable pad thai. The serving was too much, I only finished half (unfortunately my hotel didn't have a fridge, so a lot was wasted). But it was quite delicious. The flavors were great, and the noodle firmness was just right. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
