Lovely atmosphere. Low lights, warm ambiance, friendly staff. And, of course, the food was good. My husband RAVED about the salmon. My son-in-law RAVED about his cheeseburger. I went simple and had french onion soup which was good but not the best ever.

A Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that costs $42? I made a rookie mistake and ordered a special that wasn't on the menu without asking the price. I thought it would be the same price as their burger. With that said, it was just average and not worth $42. The decor was warm and cozy and the bartender was very nice. I'm sure some of the food is decent but the prices seemed really high. Probably won't go back.

Amazing neighborhood spot. We have been several times and always love it. Awesome burger, delicious kale salad, yummy roast chicken, perfect cocktail pours ... friendly staff and stylish setting that is always buzzing. Cannot go wrong here.

After work, the UES bar was filled with smart looking women and some of the wait staff were elegant older woman as well. It has the feel of a traditional UES martini bar or American brasserie. Packed on a Tuesday night and I was delighted to get a table after failed attempts when it first opened. The martini was just right as the pork Milanese which was topped greens and calamari.

I definitely understand why this is one of the buzzier spots on the UES. To start with, I really liked the wallpaper - floral, tropical, with cute tigers. Everything we ordered was very good. I especially liked the French onion soup, and Gorgonzola bread. The latter was so delicious. I could eat that over and over again. The burger is solid as well. The star of the show was honestly the mini chocolate chip cookies for dessert. They were so soft and chewy. I’d go back just for those cookies!

Dimly lit, pretty, buzzy, stuffier as you move toward the back. Cocktails ok, not great (had to send one back as bartender didn't understand what a Perfect Manhattan was). Everyone orders the burger so be smart--other dishes largely vv unremarkable. Bar in the front a good place for a drink, but packed with burger diners by 6:30pm. Looking forward to the hood REALLY coming back....

I never thought I would pay $42 for a Philadelphia cheesesteak, but I am extremely happy I did. With freshly cut, thinly sliced extremely high-quality rib eye steak, this left my Philadelphia roots memories in the dust. The "new American" cheese was first-rate and it was served with grilled onions, just as it should, and with pickled peppers, not hot, with onion and celery on the side in a marinade that was wonderful. I'd eat that alone and be happy. My dinner companion had a special, Peekey Toe crab salad, which she loved. The crab is a specialty in Maine and had a delicious texture and overall flavor. To top it off, the service, at least as early on a summer weekend that we went (in time to see Shakespeare in the Park that evening) was simply excellent. Our server, Ms Yoshihisa, was probably the best we've had in years – attentive, instantly responsive, fully knowledgeable about the menu and simply delightful. The wine by the glass menu has reasonable and excellent choices, both red and white varietals. The only minus, is that only the front bar area has windows and it can be noisy and a bit boisterous at the after work crowd. The center room relies on that far window for natural light and the back, where we ate, has a frosted skylight, not bad, but a window or two would put this in the A category. As it is, the banquette mostly makes up for it along with beautiful Norwegian dinnerware and real cloth napkins.
Best Burgers & Cocktails
This is THE best spot to visit when you want a burger, but want a more upscale/old-school NY vibe. Other faves: Roasted Artichoke, salads (all) & their cocktail list is also amazing!
