My wife and I stopped in a little more than an hour before an 8 o'clock show. We ordered the hummus with vegetables and the Shwarma platter with he salad instead of rice. Our waiter and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful in advising us on getting to our show. Food was terrific and the food came very quickly. Restaurant was about 2/3 full. The only drawback was the noise as many conversations were happening in a small space between brick walls.

Being fans of Middle Eastern cuisine, we decided to stop at this place in 9th avenue (there are a few other locations) for dinner. We ordered a serving of 4 different hummus which tasted the same (good, but the same) and the Moroccan fish which didn't taste as good as I expected. The place has a nice atmosphere, but the food wasn't quite there for us.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Arrived while it was still happy hour so enjoyed a trio of Appetizers for just $12.00. I ordered the chicken couscous and I thought it was wonderful. The charred beets were also fabulous. There are evidently other restaurants all over the city. Look forward to trying them also.

We ate at three Hummus Kitchen locations in NYC because our initial experience was so fantastic! Each one was a delicious experience! Great food, huge portions and awesome value! The staff were friendly and helpful when we asked them some touristy questions. I highly recommend Hummus Kitchen!

I was so satisfied for dinner that we also returned for lunch! All very good and very courteous and attentive staff! Good. Roberta

Great place with just 10 tables só service is always good with great tasting food and good music. With an absurdly good dessert!

We ate very well; the food was really interesting. When we entered, the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere and the temperature was just right. Then someone at another table probably asked to turn on the air conditioning, and they decided to turn it on without even asking if it was okay with us. A powerful stream of air was directed at our table. Within a few minutes, the temperature dropped by 10 degrees; we didn't even finish our dinner and left because it was unbearable. Needless to say, we tried twice to ask them to turn it off or at least reduce it, and they responded annoyed that they would do it, but nothing happened... Really a shame.

We often end up in Hell's Kitchen for dinner, before or after a play, so we're really glad there's now one of several Hummus Kitchen outposts there. Yes, the hummus is tasty, but not everyone digs that. We also love the salads, and I like to order the sampler, where you pick several items. The servers will bring more pita, if necessary, and there are complementary olives. Not a huge place, so plan accordingly.

I have always loved hummus my entire life, but this place really brought up my expectations! i completely loved it!

If you want bad, overpriced food with bad service and the lastest american trash pop at 80 decibels then come here Play some Israeli pop or some mizrahits Moroccan Chicken was exactly not moroccan tastless no spices Even Sababa in Bondi does Israeli food a trillion times better My last visit here

I really enjoyed my lunch at this placer, it was fantástic!!I ordered a dish with beef AND humus, plus a vegetable dijo which raster just Luke home. This Is Is a vegetarian restaurant I believe, but obviously ir also has great options for people who eats meat. Next time I'm in NYC, I'll come back to this place

Excellent meal - tilapia with roasted peppers, chickpeas, quinoa. Hot and huge portions. Also had falafal with a nice hot tahini sauce. Very friendly waitstaff. Clean and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Great taste and many good and tastefull options! Definitely would come back wheb in new york. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I woud recommend the combi dish where you can select 3 items!

We stopped for a light snack before the theater and opted to take advantage of the happy hour specials -- buy one/get one free on sangria and beer. Regrettably, the beer was warm, but the cinnamon-scented sangria was delicious -- however, the first "buy one" drink was incredibly skimpy, but the "get one" was a reasonable pour. The mojito was an interesting beverage, though not a mojito (anise flavoring, anyone). Our Happy Hour Mazze Trio ($12) of hummus, Mediterranean chopped salad and a smoky baby eggplant was very good. The Hummus Kitchen ($15) offered a nice selection of four hummus variations, but the pita (we selected whole wheat) lacked texture. The baklava was not too sweet and I prefer theirs to most syrupy renditions. Not consistent, but worth a return for the sangria alone.

We went there for dinner, but the place was booked for a private party. We ended up taking out food. Their hummus, falafel, pita bread and quinoa were amazing taste and simple on the stomach.

Delicious and fresh food, served in a cosy Mediterranean ambience by lovely and friendly personnel. A group of friends from the Netherlands and the UK, we visited the Hell's Kitchen location. As the lovely young waiter told us, Hell's Kitchen was once a no-go area in New York City. Things change, as, at this stage, the borough harbours a welcoming and inclusive zone.

Food was very good. Very authentic. The prices were good. The servers were great and fast. Drinks were unusual. They were good and different. Located in Hell' Kitchen. Area totally safe

Great choice for a pre Broadway show visit. Small restaurant, good service. Really enjoyed the mezzes (grape leaves, quinoa tabouleh, falafel), the hummus selection was awesome- and incredibly smooth! Mediterranean chicken very flavourful. Great place to order a variety and share!

Stopped by for a Shawarma and Falafel wrap. It was good. The humus with tahini was good too. If you like Mediterranean, you'll enjoy. But the service was subpar, which took away from the experience.

Small place with amazing food. Hummus is made fresh every hour. I am a bit of a food snob, but with this little gem, I had to brag. The chicken hummus..yummy. We also had the steamed artichoke, meatballs, and cauliflower. My kids loved the hummus and meatballs. All very fresh and we didn't feel over stuffed. Great service too.

We came across this after our first choice had a very long wait. As we were looking at the menu a couple of locals walked in saying telling us it's really good. So we thought we'd follow their advice. It is a small place and we had the brunch deal. All the little appetisers were delicious and the pitta was gorgeous. My husbands choice wasn't available for which they were very apologetic and offered him anything from the menu for the brunch price as a replacement. Plus they gave us some baklava on the house. I am very glad that we gave this place a chance

This tiny spot is an excellent option for a fast meal while touring New York City. The hummus is arguably the best one I ever had, I chose the option topped with chickpeas but they had a few others. The waitress that served my lunch was really very kind.

My friends and I stopped by last night for dinner. We didn't know a reservation was required but we were seated within 20 minutes or so of arrival. Hummus Kitchen is casual. We shared various appetizers (stuffed grape leaves, cauliflower and salad) and a few hummus dishes. We enjoyed the flavor of all the dishes, including the mushroom and chicken shwarma hummus. The service was efficient as well. The prices were reasonable. We'd definitely return.

We travel with a tough to accommodate foursome. We did well here. The vegan had a delicious wrap, the meat eater a chicken kabob and me, the GF eater ( I don't have to worry about cross contamination) had a great cauliflower soup and delightful salad. Reasonably priced. Great friendly service. We would come back!

Wanted to try a different brunch, which we couldn't get in Boston. Lovely, well-paced service. Small plates of dips, marinated vegetables, lox and warm, squishy pita. Main courses of shakshuka, benedict, etc. Wanted to try the homemade baklava, but too full! One daughter, just back from study in Israel praised the authenticity. Didn't try the mimosa/sangria but recommend the real lemonade and Turkish coffee - woke us right up for a day of sightseeing!

We ended up in this restaurant without knowing but what a great surprise it was. The food was great, service atmosphere were very charming!!!

This small intimate restaurant is very close to the NYC theater district, but reasonably priced. The kitchen is based on Israeli cuisine, so the food is very fresh and piquant. The menu is innovative, has vegetarian options, and service is fast and genial. An added bonus for some travelers is that it is kosher. Make a reservation. It will be confirmed by sms to your phone.

Excellent hummus. Tilapia was tasty. Chicken kabab was uniquely flavored and well-received. "I loved the falafel". Service attentive yet not overbearing. Prices decent, but I blew it by ordering sangria (stronger than I expected and the most complex sangria I've had) and ordering deserts. That pushed the cost higher than I would have hoped.

Not at all far from the Port Authority or the Broadway Theaters, this small Israeli owned restaurant features a nice selection of items. They accommodated us without reservations when we popped in after watching a movie. The place was overflowing and the serving staff was kept very busy but the dishes arrived promptly and VERY warm so we left stuffed and happy.

This restaurant, in Hell's Kitchen, provides a cozy, intimate, atmosphere. I love it all - the fixtures, tiles, and food. All of my meals have always been delicious - eating till we can no longer. One must try any of the hummus dishes , salmon with rice and vegetables, sangria, and chocolate mousse cake. Everything here is fabulous, fresh and reasonably priced.

We showed up just before closing, but they welcomed us and stayed open. Just getting off a plane from LA, this meal hit the spot. Fresh, delicious and healthy! Great little locals' spot.

We had the most excellent food here. We eat Mediterranean food a lot and this place was among the best. Great service too.

If you want good quality food at reasonable prices then this restaurant is a must. It is delightful little place. We went back twice during our 6 day visit to NYC. The staff are helpful, efficient and very friendly.

Excellent place that I recommended. Food is good. Service is good and fast. Staff if nice. I will go back !!!!

We came here only because my daughter fancied falafels and the first place we came across didn't have a restroom. Food was all good but especially the rice and lentils dish, which was beautifully spiced with cumin, and a superb Moroccan chocolate cake. Very friendly staff, but this was the only place we ate in New York where we didn't get given iced water as soon as we arrived. So only 4 stars for that.

We popped in for an evening meal and the service was outstanding and helpful. The menu was very good with a good selection and all of us enjoyed our meals.

Food is great although pricey. The atmosphere was nice and was a good place to hide away from the crowd outside.

Incredibly surprised by the fantastic food , service and ambience. NOT to slight the amazing Shakshuka, Hummus, Turkish Coffee and falafel too! AS GOOD AS IT GETS on this side of the world! Authentic recepes in a lovely setting... all fresh, all good and all priced just right!

3 adults 3 toddlers 3 strollers staff very accommodating friendly welcoming and serving up DLICIOUS food. Shwarma hummus, baba ganoush, hummus, salad, chicken kbob, you name it, we ate it, and were very very happy.

Went to this restaurant before a Broadway Show. We obviously like middle eastern food, but we were very surprised that in addition to being what we liked, it was also a kosher restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was excellent too. The server was friendly, and very helpful. We had as one of the appetizers, the cauliflower...WOW, we never tasted anything like that before. The hummus and falafel was great too. The grilled chicken entree was also fantastic.

My girlfriend found a hair in her food that was black and when we addressed this to the owner he told us thats her hair.... she's a blonde haired woman... and then proceeded to tell us to go back to where we came from. This place is almost just as a joke compared to their so called "hummus" Absolutely disgusting

Nestled in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen in the City is Hummus Kitchen. My friend and I stopped by for brunch. The Brunch Special unlimited mimosas or sangria $10, prix fix is $16 with coffee! You can also opt in for an additional $5.50 for brunch apps & coffee or tea. We love healthy and delicious appetizers! The cauliflower was fried and tahini was to die for! My friend was obsessed with the onion and apple confiture. We fawned over the lemony cabbage with sesame oil and roasted black sesame! I could have this salad for the rest of my life! Just as we were filling up in healthy veggies, we saw the gravlax salmon with garlic aioli and mustard dill sauce. It was the perfect teaser for our brunch entrees! We finished off with grape leaves stuffed with basmati rice served in a tahini mint dressing, dill, and pomegranate. Normally I’m a bit wearing of stuffed grape leaves, but both my friend and I promised to give these a chance, and boy were we glad we did! They were perfectly tart and savory. After the wonderful sampling of appetizers, was the main show! I ordered Kitchen Benedict smoked salmon with Mediterranean chopped salad home fries. It was perfectly light and filling, the eggs were wonderfully poached and the Holland size-like sauce, totes on point ! Meanwhile, my friend was loving her omelette with red pepper, wild mushroom, scallion, oregano and served with a side of Mediterranean chopped salad and home fries. I snuck a bite and it was fantastic! Since we couldn’t turn down dessert, we shared the Loco Morocco. $7.50. It was absolutely delicious. It’s basically a chocolate mousse with coconut cream type topping! We left feeling full but not uncomfortably stuffed. This healthy based menu has me craving more! *this brunch was gifted in exchange for an honest review

Although the foid is passably Israeli here the Ameropop and überheizung is particularly obnoxious The loud american clientele detract from the food and if you have to ask for the wifi password 4 times because staff dont speak English. It is a sham TLV 80th/Amsterdam isnt with us any more My advice is dont schlepp downtown

I love the brunch here. The food is fantastic. The bottomless sangria is totally the way to go! It's sweet and goes down easy. Service is hit or miss. When they're on it's awesome but I sometimes feel like they lose track of you here.

Started with 'hummus kitchen', which is described as 4 types of hummus. The hummus was a lovely smooth consistency, but rather than being 4 types was (as far as I could tell) the same hummus with different toppings, and a bit bland itself. I had a schwarma platter and husband had schwarma wrap, again just unfortunately really bland. It seemed well cooked and presented, just was missing any real flavour and was missing any real depth. I actually couldn't finish as there just wasn't enough flavour to keep me eating. This could all just be to our taste though, I liked eastern food to pack punch!

My wife and i had a good experience here but not great. She ordered a Mojito. Turned out , it was premade,, just poured by the waitress and when asked by us, it did not have all the ingredients the menu said it would. We got a 4 hummus sampler. 2 were essentially the same and the others were not very different either. All were good but we expected more variety. The pita was warm fresh but doughy. This was good but not great. The location is handy for the theater district.

We enjoyed 3 mezze for $16 in this small restaurant in Hells Kitchen. Excellent felafel but slightly bland hummus and tabouleh. Very nice though and great value.

The best hummus in New York . A beautiful and small place Excelente food, they have hummus varieties! We love the place Dessert is delicious

One night in NYC we really fancied something healthy and light to take out, and thought hummus would be a good idea. Being in the city it's easy to find a cuisine of your choice, a quick online search found the Hummus Kitchen a few blocks down where we were staying. We arrived and were immediately greeted by a host who took us through the menu, we explained we wanted take out and this was not a problem. We placed an order of spicy hummus, falafel, salad, stuffed grape leaves and plenty of pitta. Whilst we waited, we could admire the quite tiny but chic restaurant. Our order came quickly so we went on our way. Everything was delicious and freshly made, awesome hummus, falafel, and the stuffed grape leaves were amazing. All very tasty and moreish, just what we were after. Next time we'll sit down knowing where this place is, it's easily missed if just walking by but do give it a go for a healthy and tasty dinner.

Before leaving Home we bought some Groupons for 'unknown' restaurants in New York City. Our first night in New York we found a gem. We were welcomed by a lovely host/server as though we were coming into her home. We had vegetarian soup (we are not vegetarians) because it was bitter cold outside, appetisers, and main courses. Everything was delicious. We were very impressed and would highly recommend this restaurant. To our pleasant surprise it was Glatt Kosher.

Even though we were the last people to sit for dinner on a Sunday night the service was great and friendly, beers were a god price and cold. The menu is small but thats not a problem when it all sounds tasty. We ordered the hummus platter to start and were half way through when the mains arrived, which was a little rushed but i could understand as they were looking to close. The Mains were good, well cooked and had a good flavour. Its a small place but worth visiting.

Hummus Kitchen offers a nice variety of hummus preparations which are perfect for a midafternoon - pre-theater snack. But the dips are even better when combined with a glass of the delicious sangria -- which is reasonably priced during happy hour.

The restaurant is quite small so we were lucky to get sat straight away when we arrived. The atmosphere was good despite the small size and we enjoyed the music being played. We weren’t entirely sure what to order so we got the Hummus Kitchen platter to share and a Shakshuka each. The hummus platter was far to much hummus for 2 people but it was tasty. We both also enjoyed the shakshuka and the pita that was served with it was lovely.

Had the pleasure of eating here pre-theatre. Delicious home made hummus 4 different ways, stuffed grape leaves, Mediterranean Red Chicken. Lovely waitress, a very enjoyable evening. A very small restaurant, reservation recommended. Would definitely return.

The food is not near the authentic We had falafel, hummus and shawarma As a middle eastern who ate these plates for years i was disappointed Its expensive for the low quality offered The only good thing is the atmosphere

Its a small and cozy place. Looks pretty nice with all the yellow lights in the night. I found it to be quite a treat thanks to the great food. The portions are quite small but that gives you the chance to try out a lot of things. Their Hummus kitchen platter is a must try and the rice with lentil bowl was my favorite. I'd say the service was average because there was no a smile to be seen and weren't very helpful. There was a confusion with our order and it wasn't handled very well.

Did not have a reservation but was able to eat at the bar which seats 4-5 people. Service was fast and food was tasty. Great pita sandwiches. Prices are reasonable for Manhattan. Would definitely go back if in that area of the city.

Visiting hells kitchen NYC and happened upon this place. Quaint little hole in the wall with great atmosphere. Service was great...very welcoming and made us feel valued. We love middle eastern food....and hummus kitchen did not disappoint. Food was homemade and fresh. The hummus was wonderful as was my Moroccan chicken wrap. Thank you for making our trip through a great experience.

Outstanding food and service! After interviewing and auditioning at a nearby college, my teenage daughter and I stumbled upon Hummus Kitchen. My daughter has told everyone this was the best dinner she has eaten at a restaurant! Service was fast and individualized.

Cute little place and have mostly healthy options. Hummus is good and salads are nice. I like the quinoa dish. The only complaint is it was Sunday afternoon and she sat three of us in the back and said the entire place was reserved which was clearly a lie. No one soul came in after a hour. Loud mouth manager girl talking right by us eating and telling her personal business to a employee which was annoying. I will remember next time.

Food was amazing and authentic Mediterranean flavor so and seasoning! This was a very cozy and inviting spot for a late afternoon lunch! Great wine list and super service! Highly recommended!

Semi regular haunt when I visit NYC Hummus Kitchen in Hells Kitchen Ordered my regular Morrocan Chicken which was bland tastless and very non-spicy I love Morrocan Chicken in Israel from Darna Jerusalem or La Shuk in Tel Aviv or Mama Morroco in Melbourne Australia. Service was fantastic and friendly, much better than when I last vsiitid in Sept 2016 I think the staff working this visit were Israeli which explains the good service. The mezedes were fantastic and prepared with love - a few pomegranate seeds around my dolmades and Wallah (Did you ever visit Wallah in Melbourne before it closed run by a Morrocan Jew with whom you could converse in English Arabic and Hebrew?) Reasonable selection of Israeli wines but overpriced

We had a light lunch here. Excellent humus (one would hope, given the name) and reasonable prices. In a neigborhood with lots of restaurants.

Excellent middle-Eastern food Visited early on afternoon. Lunch offers gave good value for money. I Recommend warmly!

About one month ago Hummus Kitchen on Ninth Avenue replaced their chef with a new cook. The quality of the food has collapsed, and other regulars such as myself have confirmed this to me. Pity. We do not plan to return. I used to love this place and made a special trip over from the midtown east side to dine here. The hummus, which had been homemade, tastes horrible and worse than canned hummus. The vegetable soup is now watered down. When I visited the restaurant yesterday evening, Saturday night around 9pm, I was amazed, as there were only two other diners there, dining outside. I had not dined there for one month, as I was in Europe on holiday. Usually the Hummus Kitchen is busy, certainly on weekends at 9pm. In addition, I did not recognize any of the former wait staff, but the current replacements are friendly and helpful.

What great hummus! If you enjoy traditional and authentic hummus, this is your place. The salads are delicious. The kebabs too. Cute decor. Nice place. Clean and fast service.

Good authentic Hummus, babagnoush and falafel. Hot fresh pita was delicious. Small location, not great for big party.

We went for lunch with our children and everyone loved it. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, lots of flavor and fresh herbs. You must try the mint/lemon slushy. My kids loved it!!! Also, the 4 hummus sampler. All the food was fantastic. Get there early. It is a small restaurant and it gets a line quickly. I totally get why. Service was excellent too.

A small restaurant with a big hart. Many plates and flavors to choose from and a great atmosphere inside. We started with hummus, falafel, green salad and coolly flower. And than straight to main plates: Salmon fish, Shawarma with rice, Kuskus with chicken and chicken breast... all was excellent. Many different spicy shades of exotic food. The stuff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our visit (4 of us) was remarkably enjoyable. We'll come again.

Stumbled across this resto when walking down 9th ave!! Fantastic food!! The "hummus kitchen"is enough for 2 people, don't over order the servings are fantastic!! Brilliant food, great for lunch!!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teens dined at this Hell's Kitchen restaurant for dinner during our trip in May 2019. The food was outstanding. We ordered the mezze of hummus, babaganoush and cauliflower, all served with warm pita. For mains, we ordered the falafel wraps and the salmon tacos. All of the food was fresh and incredibly tasty - among the best middle eastern/Mediterranean cuisine we have ever had. The restaurant was clean, the decor was cute and the sound track that was playing the night we were there was amazing - certainly added to the already cool ambiance. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. Good value for money too, considering it's in NYC. Our bill came to $100, including a beer and some soft drinks, before tip. We will definitely be returning on future trips to NYC.

We went for a Sunday brunch before a matinee show. The Sunday brunch menu is limited, and we did not find anything we wanted to order, but you can order off the main menu, and augment it with the brunch appetizer plate and the drink deal. The appetizer plate is a really good sampler of all sorts of things. Absolutely worth the money and fun to share at the table. The shawarma was not what we expected because the chicken was not thinly sliced - still tasty. The chicken couscous was a lot to eat, but really good. The falafel were great. A nice alternative to all the heavy Italian restaurants that surround the theater district.

We came here after a theatre show without a reservation and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Service was great and the hummus was just fantastic. It is a small place and understandably busy but I would go out of my way to visit. Thoroughly recommended.

I liked the atmosphere in Hummus Kitchen despite having had to sit against a wall under someone's dangling coat. The place is small and tasteful while the portions are large but not so tasty. The baba ghanoush was lacking in garlic and lemon, as was the hummus. The red chicken didn't have much flavor. Couscous with chicken was similarly bland. The thin-sliced chicken in both dishes was, as the waitress acknowledged, cooked that morning: Consequently, it was dry—and also lacked flavor. A lamb wrap contained little lamb and some beef. Service was indifferent at best. If you want this genre of food, try Gazala's where it is properly spiced and cooked.

We were happy to have found this tiny restaurant among a row of interesting looking places on 9th Ave in Hells Kitchen. Food was great and healthy. Service was excellent. They seem to have a thriving take-out business, as well.

I’m vegan and my husband is not; this restaurant was a perfect choice! The food was fantastic. I’ve never tasted such creamy hummus. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu (I know, every waiter should be but not all are!).

Horrible place, the food was not authentic in any way. The staff was rude, as I sat there I saw them shove a young girl out of the shop. That’s no way to treat people.

I stopped into this restaurant for lunch with my family on a Sunday afternoon while touring NYC. We found the food to be good but the wait staff lacking. All of food took a long time to arrive and the waiter forgot to place the order for one of my daughters. So her food arrived a while after all our other food. I would give this place another try since the good was good and the prices reasonable.

As a middle eastern who grew up eating Hummus, this place is the closest taste you can get to the authentic stufF. Great seating, service and friendly staff

We stopped in for dinner on a weeknight. It got busier after we arrived. It's a small space so better for couples and groups of 4-5. We had a salad and then a trio of mazze where you pick three dishes from a variety of choices. All of the dishes were good, none of them spectacular. Surprisingly, the beer choices were rather limited, but it is a small place. The service was good, not great.

The different varieties of hummus are fantastic, but so is everything else on the menu, from the salads, the chicken, the soup and the desserts. Very fresh and clean place.

Not much to add... everything was fantastic. We had the chargrilled aubergine, red Mediterranean Chicken and Arais... and finished off with the Baklava To full to try anything else. Only regret is that we did not try this before. Keep it as it is !!!

This small restaurant in Hell's Kitchen has excellent food. The fabulous waiter could not have been nicer. He took my food allergies very seriously and double checked with the kitchen. There is a small yet nice selection of wines. I had an appetizer of their signature amazingly delicious hummus which has won awards. The Moroccan fish was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I highly recommend Hummus Kitchen

Was here recently with some vegetarian friends. The food and service was excellent. The seating is very tight. Recommend the baba ganoush. Malabi for dessert was very good. No beer on tap - a slight letdown.

I actually just came here for a snack, so I dropped in pretty much right before dinner. I had heard a good recommendation for Hummus Kitchen and was in the mood for hummus, so I got the hummus tasting platter (it had a mixture of different kinds of hummus, like with tahini and chicken and chickpeas). I also had the pita, which was DELICIOUS. I could tell the pita was clearly freshly baked. It was soft and warm and seemed straight from the ovens. I also found the portion sizes to be pretty generous, but then again I was only expecting a snack from my visit. I absolutely loved the hummus though as it was such a highlight. It was super creamy and I loved the texture, especially when dipped in the pita bread. Service was super friendly; there were no issues at all with me just ordering a snack and not a full blown meal, which I appreciated. Also, my food came quickly.

We had lunch at hummus kitchen yesterday and it was such a treat! Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The hummus was just as good as in Israel and the Schwarma was perfect.

It is a small restaurant and was heaving while we were in the restaurant, the staff are really attentive and service was quick. There is a little glass kitchen in the corner which is a nice addition and you can almost see food being made and plated up. Having the menu on iPads is new to me and a little odd (probably very current with the times it’s just everywhere uses card/paper still so surprised me). The menu is a little confusing, it could do with greater explanations of the meals and extras you get - like pitta bread. However the staff were really helpful and helped me pick a great meal. Even if you don’t want a bowl of hummus there are wraps and salads with less hummus emphasis, so caters for all.

So much on the menu that I wanted to try here. Great options for vegetarians. Would definitely recommend. I'll be returning next time I'm in New York

Raining so we ducked in and enjoyed some food and beer. Lebanon food has a nice unique flavor and a little kick if requested.

We stumbled upon this place when in the Hell's Kitchen area. This place was awesome...obviously, try the hummus! Everything we ordered was delish, the prices were appropriate, and the service was awesome. This place is quaint and quite small so I imagine it could get quite crowded; we went at an off-time and had no problem. Will definitley go back! They told us you can also order online at hummuskitchen.com.

Make it your destination place. Authentic Israeli dishes; properly made hummus, just-right portions. Spacious and comfortable. Attentive service; Lachlan served us today; tops in promptness, courtesy and getting it "right"! Prices are crazy reasonable. Starters of Hummus Kitchen platter for sharing-ate every bite!- and Med. chopped salad and Quinoa Tabule and Salmon. The website has photos of all the tempting choices and when food arrives it looks even better than the photos.

This was a good place to catch up with an old friend on a Saturday afternoon. Eating outside was a nice touch, although during the week, what with the subway construction work it might not be as pleasant. Space inside is good though.

I think Brunch is the best time to go. The food is delicious, and you get quite a bit of variety for your buck. One of my favorite dishes is the super healthy salad. I also love their hummus and baba ganoush. With the brunch menu, you can order any meal and then you also get a bunch of sides that ALL taste good (though I pass on the smoked salmon, but I'm willing to bet it's tasty.) The service is fine, nothing special. The prices are decent for NYC.

Good food and nice Israeli wines Hummus and Babbaganoush ok but very lite on the pita Try Sababa in Sydney and experiebce the real Israel outside of Israel

Food is of good quality. Service very friendly. Prices good. We enjoyed and had too much to eat... Small cousy place.

Nice restaurant where you can have a proper dinner for a nice price. The athmosphere was cool. And the waiter was really helpful and nice.

Went with friends after seeing a Broadway show. It was actually SuperBowl Sunday so we pretty much had the place to ourselves, but it is very small so you may want to make reservations. We all enjoyed our food and it was perfect for the vegetarians, and Kosher folks in our group, The pita was amazing as others have said and we tried three different “tacos” and a grilled chicken dish. Service was friendly and attentive, We will be back.

I went with friends for brunch here before theater and I will never come back again. The food was tasteless and I tried the Turkish coffee which was bitter and undrinkable.

Visited with husband and friend whilst holidaying in NYC after a recommendation from our apartment owner. Seated quickly - it was quite early - we were able to take advantage of some 'Happy Hour' bonuses. Good waiting staff who knew the menu and offered sound advice. Great mezze starters to share - the hummus was fantastic, smooth and oh so fresh. Even had room for some baklava! Good value for money and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended - will visit again.

My mother went to this restaurant after my reccomendation. She payed with a bill to the waitress, and then she came back with a guy (perhaps the owner) who with terrible manners told her that the bill was false. Perhaps it was but my mother didn’t knew (we’re not Americans). In any case the customer must always be treated gently. That guy’s manners should improve or this place will close, there are houndrieds of great hummus spots in NYC.

We needed to find a place for lunch in the Hell's Kitchen area of NYC -- and decided to try Hummus Kitchen. Small but pleasant place --- very pleasant waitress --- and lots of choices on the menu. My wife and I shared a hummus platter (the "schwarma hummus" platter) plus the trio of small dishes --- we selected falafel, babaganoush and the grape leaves. The only disappointment was that the falafel was too spicy for our taste; on the other hand, the grape leaves were outstanding, the schwarma hummus platter was very tasty, but the babaganoush was no better than the prepared babaganoush that one can get at Fairway or Zabar's. No question but that we will return and try some of the other menu items.

Nicely decorated restaurant with nice enough food food. Had a vegetable soup, falafel wrap and a chicken and hummus plate. All were nice enough. The pita was excellent and generous.

If you are in New York City and 9th Ave and around 52nd street, you have to eat at this restaurant. My wife and I loved the food and the service. This is a small hole in the wall restaurant but great atmosphere.

We got there about 4pm and ordered starters, declined drinks and I ordered a main. The starters of hummus, falafel and babaganoush were just about okay. The main took almost an hour to arrive. I had to ask about it after some time and was surprised not to get any update for another long period. Very disappointing service. The main dish of a kebab wrap was actually quite tasty though. The place is nicely decorated.

The atmosphere is great. The food is great. The prices are great. The staff is great. Need I say more?

We loved the music really great beat . The food was very fresh and everyone around us was commenting on their meals being good. A lot of other places were closed or closing it was just after midnight so we were glad to get in somewhere it is only small it was about half full at that time of night. They have wine , beer and cocktail list but no spirits not sure why. Yes I would go back again .

The food was amazing. We all loved the chickpea hummus and the chicken couscous was incredible. Great spot with friendly staff.

Great food and an extremely helpful staff to make your meals all the more enjoyable. We liked the Hummous, pita bread, nachos, the Shawarma rolls and the Kebab platter. Care needs to be taken regarding the quantity as we ended up ordering more than we could finish, unaware of the large portion size.

I like Hummus, but I don't love Hummus and at Hummus Kitchen, there's a lot of Hummus dishes. Chopped Salad, while plain and simple is delicious. Tried the tahini kebob (unfamiliar flavors for my taste buds, but enjoyable enough). Baklava ended the meal on a positive note.

Awesome food.. Service is excellent, the food is excellent. If you are into beer, try the dark Israeli beer too.

We walked by and the outdoor seating area was so inviting that we stopped to look at the menu. Fresh pita and hummus made in house daily sealed the deal. Service was friendly and prompt and we loved our little starters and sandwiches. Great fun and food!

This little restaurant offers a different variety from the other choices of cuisines available near by. The menu is centered around a foundation of hummus and all the items we tried were very tasty. The cauliflower appetizer was excellent though the portion small. Schwarma had chunks of chicken instead of the slices that we were expecting. Definitely worth a visit for hummus lovers or those who want to try it for the first time.

Decent mediterranean/Israeli eats. The place is tiny, but worth the visit. The service is good and it is newer too packed

We ate here twice during our stay in New York. The service is good, the food fresh and tasty and the drinks reasonably priced. It's small, casual and busy, and a great place for a meal on the way to the theatre.

Delicious food and great service! It’s healthy and homemade. Good value for money and great for small groups. Order a bit of everything to share in the amazing flavors of the Middle East.

At first disappointed that nobody answered the phone when we tried to make anearly reservation but since our hotel was close we decided to take a chance and walk to the place on 9th Ave. We were seated immediately. We had difficulty choosing our dishes since most seemed to be very tasty and interesting. We had the roast beets, which were great. I had MEDITERRANEAN RED CHICKEN which was incredible and my wife had PITA TACO STYLE SHAWARMA, which was also really good. I must point out that the Lemonana drink was incredibly good on a hot afternoon.

Small but cozy and interesting space. Wonderful menu with broad range of dishes. Very tasty, and ample plates with great spices, fresh ingredients. Nice wine and beer list. Fairly priced. Wonderful service - warm and friendly, helpful, and personable. Looking forward to a return visit.

It took at least 20 minutes for us to even get our order in. But once we did get our food, it was delicious; fresh tasting, lots of interesting flavors and very inexpensive.

Fine food in cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Diverse menu and choices for everyone. Food came quickly ond taste so good.

We have eaten here on 15 march. Food was great and very nice service. So the next day we went over for lunch. We have eaten the hummus plate, marocco chicken, chicken with vegetables, shuwarma plate and both times great desserts. Next time we will go back. Nice manager from South Africa with roots in the Netherlands.

Had the pleasure of coming there with my family for lunch. The food was great (loved the appetizers!) and so was the service.

We happened upon this restaurant before attending a Broadway play and it was delicious. We happened to get there during their Happy Hour so if you buy one drink your second drink is free. This was per person. Also, their Mazze Trio, appetizer, was discounted. We ordered the Hummus, Grape Leaves, Falafel and Tahini Kabobs and they were all very good and plenty of food for the two of us. Our server, Vanessa, was charming and helped us with recommendations. Do not forget to treat yourself to the Loco Morocco dessert. It was fantastic. As a side note, this restaurant is also Kosher. I am sure you will enjoy this restaurant as much as we did.

This is a great place for a casual drink or glass of wine and hummus. They have different types of hummus and the one we ordered, chickpea, was very good. In retrospect, the serving was so generous that I would have been satisfied with that alone. I also ordered the Super Healthy Salad, which had quinoa (mostly) and very little apricots, cranberries, and walnuts. It was not very tats either.

Came here because I was in the area and it was so cold that I needed some warm food and coffee. I was surprised by the quality of the food but even better than that is the friendliness of the staff. Ordered the brunch special that comes with some small appetizers and then a shakshuka with hummus. Coffee is Turkish style and very well prepared

The hummus definitely is the best I've ever had. It was creamy, buttery and smoky with the mushroom on top. I only wish that their pita is commensurate with their hummus, sadly, it is not. My husband ordered the chicken kebab which was very DRY. The chef's special sauce that came with it defies description and not in a flattering way. I would have given 5 stars if not for the dry kebab and sauce.

I went for a late-ish lunch (around 2 pm) and took advantage of the lunch special. The hummus mazza (I think it means appetizer?) was SO good, and it came with fresh pita. The falafel wrap is also excellent. This was a lot of food for $11, and the server was really attentive and polite. Definitely recommend!

We ate here for dinner. Three of us got the mazze, which is three small selections of different foods. It was plenty and if we had known we would have ordered 6 between the three of us. I had the falafel, cauliflower and stuffed grape leaves. The grape leaves were excellent, as was the falafel. The cauliflower was OK, but could have used more flavor. I tasted the hummus from someone else in my party and it was OK. I have an excellent hummus recipe, which I make often, so it's hard to find other hummus as good as mine. The waitress was great, service was great. I highly recommend. Good vegan selections.

Had a great falafel here, very fresh, quick service, large portion. Cute place. Great idea for a fast affordable meal, great alternative to burgers and fries.

Food: pretty good overall. I've sampled a few things, salads and the hummus dishes(favorites are sirloin and vegetable hummus) are all very good! Entrees are a hit or miss. Not a fan of tilapia morocco a fish, it's overcooked. The chicken kabob and Schwarma are good however. I'd recommend trying a few dishes to see what you like. Service: this location in Hells Kitchen/Midtown is pretty crappy, nice waiters though. Quite slow and not super attentive Ambience: really nice. It's a very down to earth place. Also the place is glatt kosher(meat) so there is no dairy whatsoever.. there are tons of meat dishes obviously, as well as vegan vegetable based (and dairy free) dishes. Also open on Saturdays, a huge plus for those who are kosher but not sabbath observant. Definitely recommend!

This spot has been spot on every time I've been (three times in the last few weeks). It is my new "go to" dinner spot before a Broadway show or for a relaxed evening with friends. It is cozy and the food is authentic and topnotch. The mixed drinks and wine list are also phenomenal.

Good fresh humus, salad and kebabs, menus are on tablets, servers friendly, very good spot, but small and tight. Good for quick lunch, but also great for anyone who enjoys food of Mediterranean.

We just came across this restaurant by chance, it was late in the evening and the kitchen was still open. What a great find. We had a lovely bottle of Israeli Cabernet Sauvignon. Agota our waitress was wonderful and was really able to help us with our order and was very friendly. The food was beautiful, the best couscous I have ever eaten. The mixed plate was lovely with excellent hummus , falafel, eggplant and baba ganoush. We followed up with the shawarma platter which was also very very nice. We will be back, great restaurant and good atmosphere.

We stumbled upon this cute, small restaurant in Hells Kitchen. After reading the reviews we decided to eat here. The grilled vegetable hummus was so incredibly good and creamy that it ruined us for ever eating Sabra again. Our entrees were great: I had the red chicken with the basmati rice and was knocked out by the flavors. The tahini kabob was very good (pictured) topped with soup veggies (squash and potatoes) over cous cous. The sangria was declared to be the best he'd ever had with generous amounts of fruit. We're very happy.

We jump into the place walking throuh bleecker street... I usually like vegan cousine so I convinced my boy-friend to try it! He was positivetely surprised! We took a quinoa and a couscous plate with pitas and hummus as siders. Plain water is free.

Excellent brunch menu with a selection of delicious appetizers and entrees. No wait for table or service.

Hospitality 0. Staff were very rude. They served me off food that smelt unpleasant. When i raised the issue they said they can do nothing about it at all and didn’t care. Ended up not eating and left. Never hoing back again.

I got the hummus plate and the mosquito drink… so amazing… the pita bread was unmatched…. Definitely a great place! Nice ambiance too and quick service!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and we were glad we did! We were lucky enough to get a seat as it was very busy and not much space inside for dining in. If you love Mediterranean dishes then you should eat here!

Only been once say can't say much except ingredients were fresh and food was prepared very well. Atmosphere is very nice, small place, nice folks, in a good neighborhood with tons of food options.

Horrible staff. Shoved a girl out of the restaurant. Horrible food. Please don’t go, spend your money somewhere else. These people don’t deserve it.

On a trip to NYC in Autumn of last year we were thinking where to eat and stumbled across this place by accident. We were very lucky however, as the food was brilliant. We both went for the meze trio costing $16 each for 3 good portions of food (6 in total) with flatbreads. This was ample after a hard day pounding the streets. Really delicious plates including baba ghanoush, hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, rice and charred beets. Service was prompt and friendly and the homemade lemonade was really refreshing too. Recommended!

The place is so chic, the food is excellent, healthy and tasty. I am a huge fan of mediterranean and middle eastern food, I will absolutely go again next time I go to NYC. Prices are fair enough. All of the appetizers were delicious, specially the salmon & the caramelized onions.

Visited on a Friday afternoon around 4pm. The restaurant was empty when we came in and we were given two tablet devices to look through as their menu. Different, but not what I am used to with Mediterranean restaurants. I was looking for an authentic experience, but the empty restaurant, Caucasian staff, and tablet menus should have been a giveaway this wouldn't be that great. Ordered the hummus kitchen plate with wheat pita and was disappointed. Two of the four hummus samplings tasted the same and none of them were good, some just had this bitter aftertaste. Recommend against the wheat bread as it has a bad taste. I've had a lot of hummus over the years and this is by far the worst I've had. Add to it a long wait for the bill at the end and I recommend other Mediterranean options.

Do not recommend. You'd do well to stay far away from this place. Disgusting customer service, clearly not authentic food and doesn't deserve it's prices

We loved the falafel wraps and the hummus appetizer. The place is small (as almost every place in NYC) but comfortable. Really good service with a friendly atmosphere.

This is a small place with a cozy feel. I was with a large group and the food was ordered family style, ahead of time so I never saw a menu. They had very nice lemonade with fresh mint sprigs on the table and several water carafes so no one had to wait for a glass to be filled. The service was very professional and friendly. There was a small but clean unisex bathroom at the back of the restaurant. It was kind of awkward squeezing by the bar to get to it but not a problem unless, you have mobility issues. I don't think a wheelchair could easily get back there. In fact, I think if you are in a wheelchair, you will have to sit near the front door because of the coziness inside. We had ground beef balls with rice that seemed to go over well with those who ate them. The cauliflower with tahini was good and unlike anything I have ever had. I have never enjoyed beets but I did enjoy their roasted beets and also their beet salad! I ate more beets that night than I had eaten cumulatively my whole life! The sweet chicken with couscous was very good. The humus was really good however, there was nothing to dip in it! We had no veggies, chips or pita to eat with the humus and that felt weird. If I had not been with a big group, I would have asked for something. I think this might be a nice place to go on a date. It was not loud and it had a warm cozy vibe.

Outstanding service ;-) food was delicious what a great experience this place is ,music at a great level so you can talk .

We wanted a good meal reasonably priced before going to a show. Hummus Kitchen did not disappoint. The falafel was our absolute favorite, but the tabouli and majadara was very tasty as well. The food arrived quickly and was hot an plentiful. We would visit again.
A TASTE OF ISRAEL
Surprisingly it is actually hard to find a nice taste of Israel in NYC so I'm back again HK in HK Hummus Kitchen in Hells Kitchen Very reasonably priced and they even gave schoog and some nice Israeli wines Yumm betaiavon and kali orexi
