Such delicious shawarma - felt like I was back in Israel! Daughter said falafel was great too. I did a mini bowl because it was less messy. Got a protein, hummus, 2 items and then unlimited veggie toppings. Did I say the shawarma was excellent?!! Nice portions too.

We stop bye Hummus and Pita Company for a late afternoon break form the Street Festival on 6th Ave that was going on. I ordered a Tropical Passion Smoothie, Ingredients were Pineapple, Mango, Banana ,Coconut flakes, and Apple Cider. Best smoothie I ever had ,plus some Organic Honey in it. This was something new from Hummus and Pita Co. Hummus Sweets and Cinnamon Pita Chips. They were outstanding. The three hummus were Chocolate, Cake Batter, and Cookie Dough. After devouring a plate of the cinnamon chips with the variety of the sweet Hummus, I bought some . The cinnamon tasted best with the chocolate hummus but I bought all three to take home. Beside great bowls and pitas with many different hummuses , there is hummus sweets to finish your meal. Highly recommend stopping her for sandwich and dessert.

We walked into this place and went straight to the counter where I ordered the sharwama mini bowl. It consisted of chicken topped up with hummus, couscous and corn. The pita bread was whole wheat. A great eatery good service with amazing ambience. Would be back if I visit New York again.

Came here because hummus is one of my favorite things. The amount of food you get is amazing for the price. I recommend getting the eggplant and cabbage because it was heavenly in taste. Can't wait to come here again

I enjoyed a quick take out dinner here so much I made a point of coming back for lunch the next day before leaving town. It's clean, the staff was friendly and the service fast. You can pick a pita sandwich or a bowl. Choose your own sides, toppings and sauces to customize it to your tastes. The bowl option is huge - I couldn't eat it all. I'll be looking for this chain elsewhere in my travels.

If you want to try shawarma like the avengers but are a little shy of trucks and carts, this is the place for you. It's clean and staff are friendly. You won't go wrong with gyro or shawarma and the humus is top notch.

We stopped by for lunch take out. Great food with a wide variety. I got a pita sandwich that was loaded with toppings. My daughter got a bowl filled with her items. It was way too much food. Price was reasonable. Everyone there was very friendly and great at helping us understand what all the items and choices were. We would happily go back.

The great: The spanakopita was AMAZING. I have never had one so flaky outside Greece! Also the ingredients used were of very good quality it appeared. The staff were ALL very friendly! The okay: Where my opinion mainly dropped was with their pita sandwiches. Unfortunately, since it’s like a Chipotle/Subway style restaurant, each ingredient is loaded on top of the others. I don’t know about everyone else but I prefer my sandwich ingredients mixed not layered. Also the ingredients like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and chicken were all HUGE bites in and of themselves. Perhaps the food prep was rushed today, I’m not sure. Also the pita sandwiches are too small to load ALL of that on them. Either they should offer larger pitas for that amount of toppings or put less on and lower the price. Overall, price is fair for the amount you get, but I don’t think I’d return except to (maybe) try a bowl or get another spanakopita!

Very tasty Gyro pita. I like the opportunity to pick your own toppings. It's the Greek version of Subway :) The location on 8th Ave has a nice seating area upstairs, great for eating and watching the city go by. I recommend visiting the website first where you can check out your options, so that when you get there you won't have to figure out how you'd like your meal constructed.

We had just arrived tired and hungry just needed food and quick. Also one of our group is vegan so this was ideal. The place is basic nothing fancy . The menu is varied and the guys there will tailor it to suit you plus they sell Stella lager. We had a good mix of food some veggie some meaty chicken ,steak ,burger . All in all a good experience and the food was delicious

Lots of options for different sized bellies! Was so glad I could have a small tasty, healthy meal that I could finish! My mum and sister had bigger meals that were also divine! When is this restaurant coming to London?? It's lush!

Passed this place and hey, I love hummus. Walked in and was super surprised. You pick your 'container'... pita bread, bowl, lettuce, flatbread. Then the fillings I had chicken shawarma, plus other toppings...I chose Greek couscous salad and pickled carrots along with carrots, fried eggplant, cucumbers and tzatziki. Kind of like the Subway of mediterranean food. DELICIOUS

Lots of options, including for vegetarians. Ingredients looked very fresh and it is assembled right in front of you. My husband and I split a hummus plate and it was plenty of food. I like places where you can basically pick all the ingredients for your food. The service was okay, not very friendly but not rude either. We clearly looked like we didn’t really know what we were doing when trying to figure out how to order and how everything worked. Even though we were the only people in line, no one offered to assist us. They just stood there. I would eat here again if I was in the area but certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Best pita I’ve had in a while! Light and fluffy with the right amount of crisp on the outside. The other items were lovely too!

Stopped in here for a snack... my husband, daughter, and I all shared one bowl and there was plenty! Alot of variety and delicious shawarma. Pitas were soft and fresh.

Friendly staff, good quality and cleanliness and fair prices. However gyros not anything out of the ordinary. Fine place for a quick bite.

Every time I come to New York, I have to come here. the pita bread is delicious and I always get steak, onions, and rice. The food is so delicious. My sister is vegan and said these are the best falafels shes had.

I'd never been there before and so I just told her the type of thing I liked and the lady made me up a bowl (which was huge!) and it was the nicest thing ever. Very fresh tastes, big pitta bread so you could make your own little wrap and loads of choice! So good.

Venture into the shop by accident and totally enjoyed it. Design your own pita is nothing new, what's special is the food quality and service. ambience is superb, with code-accessed wi-fi and bathroom, it is a nice place to camp out for a leisure weekend lunch.

My new colleague introduced me to this place and I loved it. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. A great place to grab and go or go upstairs and eat within the restaurant. I'll definitely go back.

Visited here yesterday after stumbling across it by luck the day before. I had the falafel pitta filled with isreali salad. It tasted incredible. Full of flavour and fresh. Would definitely visit here again on a future visit to NYC.

I had high hopes for this casual restaurant but was very disappointed in the quality of the food. My pita, although plentiful, was very bland. The restaurant is clean and the staff pleasant but the food needs some flavour.

Went there as my daughter wanted Gyros. Looked it up (on Trip Advisor, of course) and walked there from our hotel. The food is fantastic. Essentially, it is like Chipotle but with Greek / Mediterranean food. The portions are absolutely huge. Absolutely huge. But the food is outstanding, fresh and there are so many choices. I would highly recommend this.

This is by far the best place for hummus and falafel. I have tried Wrapido and Taim but they cant beat this place. This pace has amazing options and taste. Food is always fresh and tasty. People are very friendly and place is good to have quality time with friends. I have always tried vegetarian options, Spanish eggplant is the best, falafels and hummus is always fresh.

We ate here and really enjoyed it they are very generous with the portions and everything tasted very fresh. Would definitely recommend this.

You get a decent amount of food for your $ and there are many vegetarian options so I keep going back here when I’m in town. Favorites are their pita and hummus, you have 7 or 8 flavors to choose from, falalfel, couscous and med rice. Their cucumber and chickpea salads are awesome too and don’t forget to add on a piece of baklava. The employees are never too friendly, but that’s probably more to do with the city than the establishment.

We stumbled across this place after walking around for a bit and not finding anywhere for food. Was quick easy and decent prices.

Healthy and fresh option for eat. If you want something different than junk food, you should choose this restaurant. Humus and meat are tasty and fresh.

My family and I were in the mood for Middle Eastern food and decided to give this place a try. Between us, we tried the falafel bowl, the shawarma bowl, the Turkish meatballs, and the sweet potato fries. Everything was pretty good, the falafel 🧆 was fresh, and the portions were ample. The Turkish meatballs were okay, but next time I would order something else. My SIL and I had both requested fried eggplant as a side, but neither of us received any.

Clean place with plenty of seating. Great variety of fillings to accompany the pitta bread and very filling. Went in for a snack but the portions were generous and it turned out to be a meal in itself. Great value considering its location.

Lots on offer for anyone's tastebuds. We had the falafel with Mediterranean vegetables and salad on pita bread with hummus and was not disappointed. The restaurant is clean. The service is quick. The menu has lots of choice. You can mix and match anything you like they offer chicken, lamb, falafel, couscous. Our sandwich was $7 each and would happily recommend.

There are thousands of eateries in the Times Square / Central Park area, and if you're into Mediterranean food this one is a solid choice. Everything we tried was delicious - the hummus, the pitas, the fallafel, the shwarma, the dolmas, it's all great and they offer an upstairs dining area. Is it authentic? Ehhhh, depends on your definition, but it's absolutely delicious.

Favorably impressed with food, quick service. Just got to town after a multi-hour train trip, wanted something quick and good. This was it!

Decided we wanted a quick, light dinner so we ducked into Hummus and Pita. Here you choose your protein and how you want it presented (in a pita, bowl, or platter), which then determines the number of sides. The food was well seasoned and flavorful. A variety of hummus available; vegetarian options available. Seating upstairs provides a window overlooking the busy street for people watching. We will return here when back in the City.

Phenomenal, healthy option. Everything was fresh and full of flavor, from the meat to the sauces and bread. I travel a lot in the Middle East, and this was the real deal. So many options to create your own bow, it's great for any diet.

Before arriving to New York I had read about this restaurant. Since I love hummus, I could not miss it. It is a little bit difficult for a tourist to understand how it works but then it is ok. I ate a lovely hummus, a creamy one and wonderful falafel with pita bread. The food very good and abundant, the service quick and efficient, the staff friendly and put everybody at ease without pushing to make it quicker.

Spotted @hummusandpitaco 8th Av on my way home & thought “must try this soon”. Walked back & in just to look ... for future reference. The spread looked delish even though it was the end of the day, and I ended up with 3 pots of hummus/babaganoush & whole-wheat pita for takeaway starters as our standard pizza order was already confirmed. The service was excellent 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and the “starter” became the mains coz the pizza remained untouched! Pita just bumped pizza off the Thursday menu✅

We stopped here for something different and had walked past a few times so we're intrigued about what this place could offer. It's easy to order, you pick it you want a pitta, wrap, salad etc then pick what meat/veggies you want. There was so much choice. The hummus was lovely. Portions were huge, we got the meal deal which was excellent value at $11 each for a wrap/pitta etc, soda and fries but didn't really need the fries to be honest! Would recommend and visit again, really good lunch option with plenty of choices that would suit everyone!

Never heard of this restaurant until a quick visit to NYC. Saw that it was crowded and decided to stop in for lunch. Portions were very generous and the food was delicious. Lot's of choices from types of bread, meats, toppings, spreads, etc. You order at the counter and as you walk you pick out your choices and then take your food to a table upstairs. Nice surprise!

Popped in here one evening for for some food and were really pleased with the choice. The food was plentiful and very tasty and the staff were helpful and friendly - great little place to eat in if you want something different.

The pita was fresh. Chicken shawarma was flavorful - Among the best in NY. Several varieties of hummus - beware some are a bit spicy. Variety of toppings. Overall great place.

I don't regret of selecting this place for eating, I decided to trust the past reviews . Everything is fresh and delicious. My wife loved this place and also my daughter. The first floor is not too big but they have a second floor with more space. They also offer a variety of drinks and the personal working there is kind and helpful.

I was a little overwhelmed when I walked into this place because it was crowded and moving fast. It is basically like a Subway for mediterranean food, where you design your own wrap or bowl. I got a bowl with various toppings and add ins. I don’t remember exactly what I got, but I remember it was delicious! It was hard to find seating around lunch time so you may consider taking it to-go.

This was a great place. Food was so great, we ate there twice!! And my picky, vegetarian father was ready for a third visit. The ordering set up was a little confusing, but the employees were really friendly in explaining it. Once you do it once, it is super easy, or go online first. We got all our orders as "a bowl". Then you choose a "meat': We got a chicken bowl (yum), a gyro bowl (yum, but a little salty for our low salt diet person), a falafel bowl (yummy yummy yummy). then they add hummus. (plain is no extra charge, flavored is a little more.) Then you get to add sides. Our sides in no particular order: corn salad (really yummy), Israeli salad (fresh and crispy), Moroccan beans (spicy baked beans), Tabuleh (parsley). Then you add as many "toppings" as you like. Feta, red cabbage, onions (really yummy all together), cucumber, tomato, lettuce. then a sauce. it is an excellent value for NYC. I would go back again

The hummus is fabulous but please bear in mind that the sizes of the servings are enormous. We had 2 pita's and a medium hummus and it was simply too much.

We didn't plan to eat here, we were on our way to a show and got there a little early. There was a guy handing out flyers in front of the storefront and we decided to check it out. We shared a chicken pita and the hummus was fresh and homemade. Very impressed and I wish I could have stopped in again before I left town.

My wife and I stopped by here for a quick bite while walking around Times Square. We ordered one of the bowls to share. My wife is vegan, and we were able to easily put together a great vegan meal. We particularly liked the hummus and stuffed grape leaves. They have an upstairs dining area which was a very nice place to eat while watching the activity on the street below. The prices too for the amount of food was excellent as well.

great concept.. but the hummus was nothing to write home about. but great place if you are vegetarian or gluten free. the lamb was good. and so was the baklava.

I like this kind of place were your food is added as you go along the counter. You can see exactly what is there and make your choice as you go along

There seemed to be a lot of decision making to find my lunch. Choose your pita, fillings (hot and cold) toppings, sauces and sides. All of what I tasted were good. People were friendly and helpful and the shawarma was excellent!

Great helpful friendly staff. Food is good but quite salty. The pitta be bread is fab! It is fast food and price ok. Probably won't rush back but that's because there's do much to choose from in New York!!

Try this if you're looking for something a little different. Food was fresh and delicious and the variety made it good for everyone.

The location was close to our hotel. Those who love food are a little different, it's a good place. The food was very tasty and we were six people each took something different and for all of us it was very good and tasty, the dishes were large. The place itself is not particularly large but it was full. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 😊

My family loves hummus and Mediterranean food. Chose this place because close to a play we were going to see. Food was blah. Service was blah.

Had falafel and pita which was good. The staff was freindly. Puty it was difficult to understand how to mix and match the menu which seemed like a struggle.

A great on-the-go place to get fellafels, hummus & more. Good vegetarian options, friendly staff and nice price. I became a regular whilst in New York.

An easy way to get the chance to try not totally familiar ingredients.Sure, the decor 's not that attracts , more the serious way to offer exciting new fast food.

Who would have thought to go to a hummus place for dessert. We did. This place looked very fresh when we walked in and couldn't wait but to have the cookie dough hummus. It was great as was the cake batter hummus. I suspect the meals are good as well.

Affordable food is right there on the street in New York City. Stop by Humus and Pita and for less than $10 you will have a stuffed pita filled with more food than you can eat at one sitting. There are other choices besides pita but the pita is sooo good. There are choices of gyros or other meats, choices of hummus, a lot of veggies to choose from. The people working there are happy to help you by telling about the toppings. The only reason I didn't give it a rating of 5 is I found I had talked so much to the cashier and distracted him so he charged me twice for the meal. I didn't find out until I was home and got my credit card statement.

We ate here twice. Great for vegetarians. Fresh food that can be made up into a variety of options. Efficient service.

Was interested to try Hummus and Pita Co. in NY. thought it be as good as Chickpea in Boynton beach. Same style but there was no flavors in the food. Another chain stuff

Not comfortable. Food was not that great. Tablea on second floor where kind of dirty. Chicken was dry. I love Lebanese food and i regret we selected this place.

We were not in the mood for a big sit down meal after a day of touring and before a Broadway show. The service was friendly and efficient. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. Try the cinnamon pita chips. They are addictive.

My husband and I were staying at a hotel right in the middle of Mahattan. It was already past 8pm, we had already taken a shower, and were ready for bed. But we were starving! So we searched on TripAdvisor for the best restaurants near us and we found this one. I'm so glad we chose this place to have dinner. It is simply delicious. The concept is similar to Subway, but with Mediterranean food. The hummus alone with the whole wheat pita bread is delicious enough. Imagine how it tastes with the rest you can add. I had the Gyro (with beef and lamb) with a sweet and spicy onion sauce. The place is casual & the prices is ok for NYC. The employees are really nice too. They offer delivery service and you can also call to pre order and eat there when you arrive. One word: AMAZING! I definitely recommend it. Bon appettit!

Stumbled across this place for lunch. The service was pretty quick and the food was decent. I ordered a bowl and the meat was only Luke warm. the quantity you get for the price is quite good. Not bad for Mediterranean fast food.

The ordering process at first is a bit confusing, but the pay off is worth it. The food is tasty, and fresh. Tip, get there right before the lunch hour rush to avoid the long line.

Excellent selection of Mediterranean food---several different types of hummus. Choose pita or bowl and load up with what you want---meat, veggies, sauces. All delicious!

Love this place for some fast casual food. You design the bowl or wrap that you want with their variety of ingredients. Go with the original hummus! I ruined a bowl one time trying a different flavor that didn't go well with the toppings I chose. My personal favorite is the gyro bowl! Everything tastes so good and fresh, you can have something different every time. They have these all over NYC so you're bound to run into one. Pricing is good for the amount and quality.

This is a place you have to go to when your in NYC. AMAZING food and very helpful staff. They will gladly recommend their own favorites from the menu and the price is not that bad. If you're close to 8th avenue stop by and check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Had a take-away from this restaurant for dinner and had a great meal. We went for the pita, it was fresh, filling, and very reasonably priced ! Would definitely recommend and be back to this restaurant.

If you like this type of Greek/Armenian food, this is the place. You can buy to eat there or to take away gigantic "lafa" bread gyros filled with anything you imagine, apart from lamb meat or others. The attendants are polite. Each gyro is U$8. What else?

There are so many good takeout/casual dining places in New York it's hard to know where to go. I love shawarma and I've had it quite a lot at home but this is some of the best I've had. As much salad as you want and it's so reasonable aswell. If there wasn't so many other options I would have definitely returned here to try other things!

I’d never seen a restaurant like this, but really loved it! The staff likened the concept to a “Greek Chipotle”, and it is similar fast-casual food with dine-in or takeout options. The food was excellent, and there are plenty of choices to build a pita or gyro or salad exactly how you’d like it. Recommended!

Food was great. Wraps were excellent. Hummus was excellent. Great food at a nice location. Nice restrooms.

We went to Hummus and Pita Co. for a quick dinner before a show. We didn't have much time so this restaurant was perfect. There wasn't a line and the service was really quick and efficient. The menu, at first, was a little intimidating with a lot of choices and side combinations, but the employee behind the counter was very helpful when explaining it. We were impressed with how good the food was. One of the other people in my party and I split 2 dishes; a gyro pita and a vegetarian platter. Everything we tried was tasty especially the mushroom Hummus, carrot salad, and gyro. Definitely would recommend and try again.

I went to check out the Chickpea Shake. I was dubious but they gave me a sample to test and it was delish Service was great, place was clean. Unfortunately I'd eaten a mediocre lunch elsewhere but will go again to test out their food as it looked and smelt amazing.

So flavoursome and the staff are some of the friendliest of NYC. I had the chicken pita with fries. The chicken was marinated to perfection. Love it. Thanks for a great experience.

Nice fast food, a little bit different. Great tasty hummus and gyro. Recommendable if you want to try something different.
Yum!
This was my favorite place to eat in NYC so far. I had a pita sandwich with chicken breast, onions, and regular hummus. My husband had a bowl with a myriad of things in it. We both loved the food, and we were very full when we were done. The staff was very friendly and they helped us to navigate the menu as first time visitors. We highly recommend this restaurant!
