Great meal in an excellent location!

By ShaneSellsSeashells |

The greeter was friendly, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was classy with a dash of Springsteen! Everyone in my party had a great meal and they came out quickly. The best part was that they were able to accommodate a dairy allergy. It means the world that I was able to safely eat without having to worry about a reaction while on vacation in the city. The only draw back was that we had two or three waiters at one point and it seemed a bit chaotic as to who was going to serve us. I read great reviews and they delivered! It was also nice to be able to make reservations which they confirmed with a follow up email. I'd return! Its amazing how crazy and bustling life is one corner away. Pop into here and you will have some reprieve.

A great spot in the theater district

The food was great, the atmosphere convivial. We were there on St. Patrick's day for pre-theater dinner, and while the place was packed we didn't lack for attention from our server (great job, Bobur!!!)

Delicious food and great service

My all time Favorite Bar in NYC!

Hurley's in NYC is a must go to place. Bartenders are the best, the food is great. Lots of choices, lots of room. They are always accomodating when we need a last minute group gathering. Once you go you will always go back.

Worst Meal Ever!

By camh4362 |

Went to Hurley's for lunch before seeing The Bronx Tale. Should have turned around when we smelled bleach when we walked in front door. We ordered Filet Mignon and Swordfish. Filet was the worst cut of meat - did't even look like a filet and was tough and grizzly. Swordfish had fishy smell. Needless to say the plates we didn't eat much. Not once did anyone ask how our meal was!

Great place

Iconic place. Probably the best pub/ restaurant in Bergen/ Rockland County. 20 plus years since I was last here. Still great. New, beautiful roof top bar. Very good kitchen: Caesar salad, French onion soup, etc. Lve music. 50 year old crowd Thursday and Sunday, younger on Friday, Saturday.

Poor Food and over priced

By clint_bouchez |

Whilst the bar downstairs is nice and its a good place to have a drink , the food upstairs is awful. The starters shrimp cocktail 5/10 , clam shells shocking looked a few days old . My rib eye steak was badly cooked , not tender and grey looking .My partners Salmon was dry , over cooked and tasteless This is pub food at its worst and the waiter service was only average .

Good stop for pre-show drink

We were lucky to get a seat at the bar as we were a bit early for the show and went to get a drink. the place was packed with folks like us looking to do the same thing. It was ok, your basic bar.

Great meal but service just ok.

We ate at Hurley's before seeing Bruce at the Kerr Theater across the street. We made a reservation one day in advance and the hostess was awesome - she had a table all set up for us but graciously switched us when we asked for a table by the window (to see Bruce arrive!) We each ordered from the daily specials menu - one chicken and one pork - and the meals were good, though the service could have been better. We felt like our server forgot about us: he asked if we wanted ketchup for fries but then never brought it to us, and it took a long time to get our check. We were glad we ate at Hurley's because it was so close to the theater, but we would probably try another restaurant during a future NYC visit.

Great ambiance, great food!

Stayed in Theatre District for a week & went to a matinee at the Longacre Theatre next door to Hurley" Saloon. It was March 7th, my birthday & snowing very hard. Went to Hurley's for a drink before show & immediately loved the cosy feeling. After the show we decided to have dinner there. We sat in the bar area & I had the Shepherd's Pie, which was one of the best ever. It was good comfort food on a snowy, cold day. The staff were very friendly & the service was fast, not that we were rushing to go back out. Prices were not out of line for the quality & portion size. Thank you, I definitely will be back.

Lovely atmosphere

Stopped here for a quick drink before comedy club as it was near our hotel. Service was friendly and swift. French martini was expensive (same as most NYC places though!) but tasty.

Hidden Gem

Stopped in on the way back to the hotel after seeing “ A Bronx Tale” for a drink. We ended up staying for drinks and appetizers and we loved it. The bartenders were so great and friendly as well as attentive. The food was out of this world and more than fairly priced. I only wish we were staying a second night because we would have gone back for dinner. Great atmosphere to kick back, relax, watch the game and enjoy the people in your life. Will be going back on our next visit to city guaranteed!!

Great Pub

After theater early dinner

I chose Hurleys based on proximity to the Barrymore theater and the menu. Food was decent in a great, old time NYC bar restaurant setting. Servers were very attentive and the place filled up quickly. Try them if you are looking for a ite before or after a show

Struggled to find a nice eatery near Times Square until we found this on 48th Street in a snowstorm. Large restaurant upstairs with little booths and great food. Great service so can only recommend it

Perfect Bookend to a night with The Boss

Hurley's is on 48th street across from the Walter Kerr Theater where we had tickets to see Bruce Springsteen. We saw Bruce on the night the Golden State Warriors were playing game 4 of the finals. So that afternoon we scouted out locations for a post-show dinner and place to watch the game. After looking in on Hurley's we found our place. They have two rooms on the ground floor with a gigantic wrap around bar with plenty of televisions. We asked to make sure they would be showing the basketball game and not the Mets or Yankees. We decided to check the place out before the show for a drink and a nosh. We had a great bartender who was personable, poured a good drink and also served us a pre-show snack. We ordered the hummus plate and it was big enough for two of us to share. After the show we rushed across the street in time for the second half. Our bartender was by the front door, going home after her shift but she remembered us and wished us and the Warriors good luck. We sat at a high table with a perfect view of a television. I ordered the Empire State Cobb Salad Field greens with grilled chicken, bacon, hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese & apples ($14). My friend had the Steakhouse Salad with char-grilled hanger steak, fresh mozzarella tomatoes, roasted red peppers, field greens & balsamic soy dressing ($17). Every thing tasted fresh, the salads were huge and the drinks were as good after the show as they were before. And the Warriors won so we walked out of there very happy.

Very good food

We found Hurley's on the recommendation of another Irish Pub. We did not have reservations and it was Saturday evening. The food was very good and service was quick. Staff was very attentive. I would go back again if in the area.

Stop by before Springsteen

By Mike M |

Right across from the Walter Kerr it’s a great place for a drink/something to eat before the show. Lots of TVs to catch a game. Good selection of food and drinks. Friendly service. Upstairs dining.

Great surprise before our show!

By drogers267 |

We popped in here for a quick bite before our show at the Longacre Theater last Saturday afternoon. We were NOT disappointed! The service was quick and the food was excellent. We had 2 Caesar salads and the Queso Dip & Chips. The salads were the best we had on our trip in NYC. Very plentiful and dressing was delicious. The Queso dip had a nice kick to it! We will definitely come back on our next trip!

Bad Service!

By MTS--1000 |

Stopped in for dinner before going to a show. Ordered a beer to start. After a long wait the waiter came back and told me the tap wasn’t working for my choice. Asked him what was similar, he didn’t know. He then asked the bartender who recommended a lager which I knew was not at all similar. Service was very slow, items forgotten or brought late and indifferent attitude. The food was good. Worse was paying the bill. The bill was $43.47. I put down a $100 bill. The waiter in all seriousness asked if I wanted change. It took him a long time to return with the change. When he did, he had rounded the bill up to $44.00 so as not to bother with the coins rather than down to $43.00 and didn’t bother to say anything. This time it wasn’t the money but really was the principle for me.

Drinks after work

By AGGIII10 |

If you need a place to get a great lunch, drinks after work or drinks late into the night, Hurley's is the place. The menu is great all day and the people that work there are even better! Thanks to Cathy, Stephen, Melissa, Matt and Delores for being some of the nicest people behind a bar ever! Drop in there anytime, you won't be disappointed!

Excellent eating

By 844tamarad |

Great place accommodates large groups, though somewhat crowded on table space. One unisex bathroom stall upstairs, not enough. The servers were great though a bit confused as we ordered appetizers, main course and desserts off a preselected menu. The meals were great, large portions with deserts just enough to finish after. Beautiful long bar downstairs. Not sure about why it's considered an Irish Pub.

Tasty Suprise

By Lisa H |

We stopped by for an early lunch before a show. Overall the food was tasty and the price was good. I had the French Onion soup and it was one of the best I have had in NYC. The only draw back is seating. On the main floor it is primarily high tops. There are only a couple of standard tables. If you want those you need to climb stairs. So if you have a disability, this might not be the best spot for you.

Great pre-theatre bite!!

By drjeff77 |

Went for lunch prior to our matinee and were pleasantly surprised! We shared a french onion soup, mixed green salad, and a classic reuben sandwich. All the food was very good, although the soup was too salty. Service was excellent and the place was clean with very clean restrooms. They had a nice selection of beers and some wines and the bar scene was not busy in the afternoon. Prices were also reasonable! This is a great place to go prior to the theatre- you will be treated well!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

By dianev1020 |

Mark of an exceptional meal is an empty plate! I loved every bit of the hanger steak salad. It was seasoned perfectly. Dad had the steak sandwich and it was huge. Very accommodating staff. Extremely friendly service. I would highly recommend this place. Beautiful booths. Very enjoyable.

Visited after seeing on Instagram

After my husband saw all the wonderful food pics on your instagram we decided to give this place a try. Atmosphere is an A++ private booths are awesome, the history and richness in this place is beautiful. That being said, everything was just okay. Service was okay, food was okay. We work to hard for our money and our time off to settle for just okay. Sorry Hurley's we won't be back.

Our NYC party started here 😁

This was our first stop after checking in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The service was great and fast, staff was very friendly, and the “Americanized” Irish food was all very good!! 😋 and a memorable first cocktail was had here to kick off our NYC tour!!

Average Dining Experience

By Scuba125 |

We had and early dinner prior to seeing a Broadway Show...I think Hurley's popularity comes from the fact that it's located in the heart of New York's Theater District. We had reservations and upon entering, couldn't find anyone to check us in. Upon going upstairs, we found someone who helped us. The waiters were efficient but service was nothing extraordinary...they were extremely busy to be fair. We ordered drinks which were great! I had the grilled salmon and my friend had some type of chicken which was like a seasoned quarter chicken. My salmon was good but nothing over the top and my friend' chicken was dry. Again, it was an average dining experience on par with most other Irish pubs in the city.
