We went before a show and were not disappointed I had the lasagna. It was Wonderful our table had pasta dishes that were great. As well as a veal All were wonderful. It did get a little busy before show time. But we had a Great time ,and made our show

Wonderful food and superb service! Waiters made great recommendations. Pasta was lovely, chicken was tasty and the salad was very nice! I’d go here again in a second

I had a very nice dinner here. For simple Italian food, such as burrata and seafood risotto, it does well. Desserts are also good but presented cold on a platter to choose from, which is odd as the final dessert looks much more appetizing (and it is).

We really enjoyed the Spaghetti di mare (which was very al dente), the Fettuccine with mushrooms, and the pistachio tartlet. Surprised not to see cheese on the menu. The score would have been maximum if the quality-price ratio was not New York. €210 for three and without any excess (3 pasta dishes, 2 desserts, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer).

My husband and I went for lunch. We split a soup, pear soup, pasta nd a dessert. Was fabulous. Farro soup, pear gorgonzola and walnut salad. We asked the server to choose a past for us to share. He brought us each a pasta dish. Pistachio, sausage and cream and a pasta with beef and onions. Both amazing and so nice for use to try two different things. Shared a pistachio tart with chocolate gelato. Everything was amazing. Very high class, all servers were very professional. Perfect portions for lunch sharing the dishes.

We were walking down W. 55th Street at 2 PM on a Sunday when we saw the restaurant. The menu in the window looked good so we walked in to make a reservation. We were not disappointed. We had excellent service with Pablo as well as the other staff. He offered an opinion when I asked between two dishes. I was not disappointed. My husband had the special that evening and was very please. I would definitely go back and tell others to try this wonderful, authentic restaurant.

When in New York, you long for a quiet place to relax and be able to enjoy conversations with your companion. Il Corso is the place to have a good time with whom you are with and experience wonderfully prepared food along with attentive service. I urge you to check out the menu online and you will see that there are genuine Italian choices. The three of us had to taste each others food because each dish was cooked to perfection. It is a gem not far from Central Park. I will be back.

Amazing food, great service. The pastas are very authentic and the tiramisu was perfect to end our meal. Highly recommend the Cacio e peppe and the pappardelle al ragu 👌🏻

Good service, good food and close to many attractions there is a lot to like about Il Corso. The long narrow shape of the restaurant both added character and made dining nosier. Would definitely go there again. 10 minute walk from Rockefeller Center.

Very good welcome! Varied menu and at all prices Wine list, for a good bottle count on $60 min We were in the back room where we suffered from unwanted chatter from the tables around. It was the one who spoke the loudest! For a romantic dinner go elsewhere 😉 Very good pasta dishes, not very salty lasagna and small portion.

Wonderful restaurant with warm, welcoming, attentive staff and expertly prepared dishes...Of special delicious note was their Burrata w/ Fried Baby Artichokes, Tagliolini al Limon, Linguini alle Vongole (cockle clams) and the Gnocchi Fritti con Fontina e Pesto di Pachini...Molto delizioso!

Excellent restaurant, authentic Italian food, pasta al dente and with very good ingredients and affordable price, highly recommended!

Had our second visit to Il Corso. The food and service are top notch. We had a show to catch and the staff kept things moving for us, but not too fast. The pasta was superb and the fish outstanding. Don't think it matters what you order, it will delight.

What a treat. We where lucky to get a tanke for two, sunday evening without reservation. The noice level is high and so was the attentive service. Lovely pasta vongole.

Excellent Dinner at popular Italian Restaurant on 55th Street. Had two excellent seafood pasta meals (Spaghetti del Mar and a Fettucine with Octopus Special. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.

Heard wonderful things about their Cacio e Pepe which is one of my wife's favorite dishes. It did not disappoint. We were put in the back room which was ok but the front of the house has more interest.

After a long day touring the sites, it was so nice to sit down in this quiet and romantic restaurant. The staff were extremely attentive; we never had to ask for anything. We chose two of the specials and were extremely happy with our choices. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly and very satisfying.

Let me tell you what happened to us. They took our credit card and enter 300 dollars and taped our card. The bank automatically declined the tap. Why 300 when the amount was 240 ? Shame on you!!!! We called the bank and they told us the restaurant entered 300. What a shame people stoop to that. I will not recommend or come here again regardless of the meh food. Not nice …..

From the atmosphere, food and service it was great. The sausage stuffed ravioli was the best I’ve ever had. I just wished the desserts were presented as wonderfully as the food. Otherwise it was a a great restaurant!

Couldn’t fault this small Italian restaurant felt. Food was excellent we had the avocado and artichoke starter - top notch. I had cacio e Pepe main which was very good and my wife liked her pasta with a great ragu. Decent Italian wine list we were very happy

The food was delicious however my friend and I felt a lot of pressure, because every 5 minutes they asked us, if everything OK?, do you need anything else?. We order an entrance, two main courses, beverages, desserts and coffee. What else we can need? until they said that they needed the table, Sorry but we were consuming, and I went to the bathroom before I left the restaurant and they had two empty tables for two people at the end of the restaurant. Why they say that needs the table? Never before, in NYC or in my country anybody asked to leave the place, It was disrespectful so I don't recommend this place. There are better restaurants in Little Italy like "La Mela" where you can spend time, enjoy the place and eat delicious food at great prices without the pressure.

Perfectly cooked appetizers and mains, with wonderful deserts to end the meal. Casual ambience and an unpressured opportunity to enjoy a post-pandemic celebration. Will certainly return here.

We arrived about 20 minutes early but we’re seated still without a problem. We were given a table between the front and the back of the restaurant and we felt like overflow. Where we were wasn’t very private and we felt a part of the bar staff on occasions. We only ordered mains and the meals arrived very quickly. The food was reasonable but one of the sides (broccoli) and one of the mains (salmon) was over salty. It wasn’t enough for us to complain but other may have done. The value from the restaurant was also reasonable. My rating of 4 stars is nearer to 3 than 5.

We went to fabulous restaurant early as going to theater later Booking was easy on line, arrived and sat right away, Great Italian food, feels like you are in Italy Pasta was perfect, mine was in a Parmesan bowl perfect

Very good dishes and top service. Exceptional tiramisu! Very tasty gnocchi, delicious lasagna and very good pasta. Excellent espresso which is good at the end of the meal

The food was food but the serve was okay. The second tier servers were excellent but main server was only fair. The house wine was not good and the server did not k ow how to make a mixed drink. The drink was week and made with subpar liquior.

We were invited by some friends to join them at this awesome restaurant for the first time last week, and it was fantastic. The food was amazing (we left completely satisfied), the staff was exceptional, great wine choices, and the ambience of a small, locally owned restaurant was the final touch to a great evening. I cannot say enough about this place. If you are in New York, be sure to experience a great restaurant by visiting Il Corso. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

The site has exceptional service, menu and quality of dishes. Although he doesn't offer pizzas, a funny thing about an Italian. The incredibly attentive service (there was a chair even for the bag) and the delicious dishes PEEEEERO, I found the bill disproportionate, especially considering that it has the ‘traveller’s choice’ award If you are looking to eat well and do not care about the price this place is for you. I personally when I travel want to eat well without unexpectedly leaving a kidney in it, hence my score

The food and service is outstanding! This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan! My wife says when she eats their pastas she hears angles sing. The salads and appetizers are outstanding as well. Service is consistently on point. It has the feel of a nice and tasteful neighborhood restaurant but the food and service is worth traveling for. We come here every time we visit Manhattan!

Wow, we loved our dinner here. We were in the back room (which was a bit loud) but the food was sooo good. If you like Italian food this is authentic and better in our opinion than the chains.

We have our faves in NYC but decided to try Il Corso. A great surprise. The food was authentic and the wine list a good variety. A table next to us was from our home town so we had a great dinner and great conversation

We had walked around looking for a place to eat and this restaurant looked quite busy. We were lucky to get a table for 2. The food was excellent with a more traditional feel to it. The staff were very friendly and were happy to explain all the specials twice! Great menu choice, good choice of wines and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely a place to visit when in NYC

Cosy Italian restaurant near the theater district with an emphasis on fantastic food and attentive service. Delicious menu - was hard to choose, and everything cooked perfectly especially the pasta. Unusually reasonable wine list - lots of options around $60. Staff friendly and charismatic. Nice to be in a place that isn't a cavernous huge room - Il Corso has a smaller, more intimate vibe.

Nothing to say about the food, quite good for NY. However, we are VERY angry because even by writing (putting an It's not for the amount of the tip (still $20) but for the gesture of having done it EVEN if we had written no. They even tried to put two plates for dessert (so they add 10% of the plate for splitting it) when only my partner wanted to eat dessert. Not because we are tourists you can cheat people, absolutely not recommended!

The food here is outstanding. It is rare in my experience that three diners ordering different dishes and trying each cannot decide which is better since they all were outstanding. The four cheese risotto, Cacio e Pepe pasta and pasta with fresh mushrooms where just great. Appetizers of beef carpaccio and calimari were fresh and outstanding. No room for desert as portions are ample. Service was a little below the best but only a little quibble.

This is a very tiny Italian place in midtown. It’s a tight fit for sure. We have several nice pasta dishes. It was good. I can’t say it was great, but good. Nice service as well. Glad we went. Not sure I would go back with so many other great Italian options but it was a good meal.

If you cannot understand the waiter taking your order, ask for another person. They understand, and it will help you get a very good dinner. Their salads are very good. Pasta is excellent. They prepare fish very well. Wines are not outrageous. Amarones that I had were superb. Do not be in a rush for il Corso.

From the very beginning I felt like I was in the family dining room for Gennaro, the owner of this family held restaurant for many years. I never would have thought that such great food, in midtown, could feel so special. Every one of our group loved their meal - Osu buco, branzino, special pasta and butter sage ravioli (my favorite), All divine. The nutella tart was to die for.

Just a 10 minute walk to most of the Broadway shows this is a solid option for a good pre-theatre dinner. The place is nice, has a good vibe, and the pasta's are solid. The one amazing dish of the night was the tube pasta with sausage, mascarpone, and pistachio cream sauce. This was one of the best pasta's we ever had. However, the bolognese, the Lasagna were only ok. In fact, I would say the Lasagne was mushy. All in all, maybe a bit of a disappointment from what I had read but still a solid option.

We had a 4:30 reservation, but we came about 45 minutes early. They gladly took us and seated us immediately. My wife orderd the soup special, Butternut squash, which was very good. She then had the Eggplat parm appetizer, which she thought was a little burnt. It was more than enough for her. I ordered the Spaghetti Di Mare which was excellent! The staff was fine if not that attentive. But, not a problem because it was very busy. I would definitely return here.

We had a fantastic pre-theatre dinner at Il Corso. The burrata was so creamy and delicious we're still talking about it! Both of us got pasta - me the special ragu of lamb, beef and veal in a light tomato sauce and my husband the cinghaile (wild boar) ragu. Both had amazing flavor! They chop rather than grind the meat so that the meat flavor really comes through. The balance of flavors in my mixed ragu was perfectly done without the lamb overpowering the tender veal. His cinghaile rivals any we've had in Florence. We loved every bite! The service was also very friendly and professional. We will definitely be going back on our next trip to New York!

Manhattan is full of great Italian restaurants, and Il Corso certainly makes the list. I like how it’s not too pretentious and very welcoming. It truly feels like a family style meal. All of the pastas we ordered were divine – so fresh and flavorful. I got this paccheri with cream sauce and sausage that was to die for. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu! Our server was excellent as well. This was the perfect place to spend Mother’s Day – my mom had such a special time and we are so grateful.

Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Pablo is a. Awesome waiter. Very passionate about the food. Had a lovely dinner. Will recommend and will return.

This is a small, family-owned operation with plenty of heart and soul. Form the pleasant greeting and seating to the owner/waiter reccomendations, this was a very nice, very personal meal.

Hugely disappointing. I am not one to write poor reviews but I will make an exception for Il Corso. Based on the reviews we booked a table and looked forward to our meal. My wife and I both ordered the special - lobster ravioli for her, ham and asparagus for me. We had a glass of wine each and 1 creme Brulee. $165 including tip. For that price I would expect more. For example the lobster ravioli had 5 pieces . We had to go to McDonalds on the way back to our hotel because we were still hungry. Could not fault the service or the quality of the food but the portion sizes are tiny, teenie weeny tiny and that was not what I would expect for $165

Lovely meal near MoMA. If you go to MoMA you will get a 10% discount at this restaurant. It is a nice Italian restaurant. Good value for money and the staff was very kind.

We had an excellent experience here last month, a perfect spot for date night just a few blocks away from the madness of Times Square. My wife loved the gluten-free options, while I indulged my pro-gluten fresh pasta fancies. Everything was practically perfect - the ambiance, service, food, and wine. We made the reservation earlier that day, but it was a good thing we did!

We stopped at this restaurant for a dinner. The menu has plenty of delicious options. All looked great as they were served around us. Inside the restaurant is very cosy. The service is very kind, prompt and friendly. The presentation of food was great and they were delicious. The only thing is that it was pricey but maybe this is normal in NYC. I still recommend it highly.

We had a fabulous Italian dinner in this small, intimate location. Was a perfect spot to dine before our Broadway show!!!

We were looking for an after theater glass of wine. The hostess was very welcoming and we sat outside. Raul served us very well. We ordered a glass of wine and decided to split the eggplant parmesan appetizer. It was delicious. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere which capped off a very nice evening.

My wife's pasta was undercooked - after pointing this out it was returned still undercooked. My pasta was also undercooked and lacked flavour which chilli oil helped with a bit, but only a bit. The waiter was increasingly grumpy and seemed upset about the complaint. He tried to say that my payment card didn't work but when I tried it, it clearly did. Not a happy experience!

I travel to NYC multiple times a year for work and always try to stop and eat here. I am addicted to their cacio e pepe but I have also had numerous starters and salads and everything is high quality. I also like their Italian wine list a lot and the prices and pours are reasonable for NYC. They do not take a reservation for 1 but they always seem to work me in, even when they are busy. I had the spaghetti with the seafood last night and it was excellent, too. I have a friend in LA who also loves this place and comes here for the cacio e pepe. Service is great and they are on it and very helpful.

Not bad at all but to expensive for the food received. Good service but be aware as a tourist that costs could go up fairly fast. Not the nicest place neither. Make sure not to sit at the back of the restaurant.

We love this restaurant. It is very small without much ambiance, but it's relatively quiet and the food is consistently outstanding. It's a short walk from the theater district and is always packed. We come to NYC once or twice a year and never miss eating here. We order the same two dishes every time because we enjoy them so. I get the tube pasta in pistachio cream sauce with mild ground sausage and my friend gets the cacio de pepe (served in a basket of parmesan cheese) . We ate every bit of our dinners, savoring every bite. We talk about trying something else, but we haven't done so in several years. On this recent visit we had a post-theater 9PM reservation. The restaurant was totally full. Our table for 2 was in a hallway next to the bar, but actually it was quiet and private, so we didn't mind. We might even ask for it when we return. Our server was great, and his by-the-glass wine recommendations were spot-on. Of the 3 restaurants we went to in mid-town, our Il Corso food/experience ranked #1. This is the only restaurant we will return to.

Horrible food, we ordered a Risotto for 36 USD and they have just cooked the Rice and added some chopped Tomatoes and some mozzarella without any taste at all!!!! The cook should be sent to a proper Italian restaurant and learn how to make a Risotto! Carpaccio was ok but nothing special! Regarding the service - half of the guys don’t speak English and don’t really understand when U order something! Bread we got wasn’t fresh at all and hard as a stone. This restaurant is really expensive for what they serve! We paid about 190 USD for 3 meals and a bottle of wine and definitely not worth the Money! Never ever again and really don’t understand how these guys got a 4.5 on TripAdvisor 🤦🏽♂️

Cozy and lovely restaurant with fresh pasta and bread. Everything was delicious. I had a pasta with pistachio cream sauce and ssg...very decadent. My daughters enjoyed their meals as well, a ravioli of the night and a spaghetti special that had a truffle sauce of some sort. We barely had room for dessert (we enjoyed appetizers too), but persevered in sharing a delicious pistachio tart. Drinks were excellent as well. We declared it was probably our best meal in NYC, and a top meal anywhere. Attentive service and just a lovely atmosphere.

The food was subpar. I had the gnocchi carbonara and was not impressed what so ever. The carbonara had an acidic taste and was lacking the basics of a traditional carbonara. My friend had the risotto special, which he said was decent, but over priced for what it was. They service was also subpar, the waiter forgot our appetizer and rushed us when ordering. I wouldn’t recommend for quality Italian food.

Wanted to dine near Radio City Music Hall prior to seeing a concert. Booked I’ll Corso based on reviews and how close it is to the venue. Being that we were trying to decide among a few different options, I am so glad we chose Il Corso. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. The lasagna was probably the best I’ve ever had and the short ribs were very good.

I had the raviolis and coming from an Italian mother who made raviolis herself, I know good ravioli. These were probably the best I have ever eaten, delicious! The service was also excellent. It a good introduction to New York and New York food.

Staying in NY for two nights and wanted a restaurant that had great service and delicious food! This was it! The staff is very attentive and the food absolutely delicious. We had arugula salad with blue cheese and pears that was fresh and dressed to perfection. One main course was the halibut special with wine and capers. The other main course was homemade pasta with sausage ! Both were fabulous!!!!!! Make reservations !!!! You won’t be disappointed.

Once wasn’t enough. We went back again. Delicious food and great service. The lobster ravioli was spectacular! Don’t miss stopping here, you can’t be disappointed.

Wow - really great service (Pablo was our guy) and the food was crazy good. Found this on a recommendation from our Concierge at the JW Marriott and was the first place that came out of his mouth. My daughter and I had a great table in the back and Pablo was awesome in creating an off menu dish for her should she choose. Don’t waste your time looking elsewhere.

We loved it! My adult daughter and I got into NYC late. Our hotel was nearby and the front desk attendant recommended this place. The staff was very welcoming, which was great after traveling all day. Our waiter said he had worked there over 30 years and gave us advice on visiting NYC. Our handmade pasta dishes were very tasty. My daughter is a picky vegetarian and she loved her dinner. We got dessert to go, cheesecake and chocolate cake, and it was delicious. We recommend this cozy place!

The food was pretty good but it was quite expensive for what it was. Perhaps these are just NYC prices. I’d happily eat there again…hopefully at someone else’s invitation, but I wouldn’t make a special trip.

Went for dinner whilst on a short break to NYC. We shared the Fritto Misto, for starter which was excellent and then had the ravioli of the day and red snapper for main courses- both of which were superb. Nice choice of wines by the glass. Attentive staff and reasonable prices. Would go again if we were in that part of the city if visiting the US.

WOW~ if you travel, I bet you are sick and tired of these chain steakhouses that literally suck and are overpriced for "app of chicken parm" really! They continually under delivery aka Quality Italian!! Yes, I love the ambience of Quality Italian and location, but the food quality compared to a great loca establishment like II Corsol! No brainer dinner @ II Corso & drinks at Quality!

We had as very nice salad (the Melodia salad)and a fabulous pasta, I forgot the name of it, but it is the last pasta on the list of pastas, and they were both great. On a previous visit, we had two other pasta dishes and they were also both fabulous. The "dry Sicilian red wine" by the glass was also very good. All at a moderate price (for NYC), and on the next block over from the City Center theater, makes this the place to eat if you are going to City Center.

We had dinner here 2 wks ago. Intimate restaurant that attracts a lot of locals, always a good sign. Very busy vibe but with good service. We had lasagna and cacio pepe, both very generous portions. And a very good Rosso de montacino vino.

This place has a great location, food is delicious, the place is clean and the service is fantastic.🙌

I'm a big fan of italian restaurants both boisterous and more serene and this excellent example of the genre charts a path between these two options. The establishment if relatively small and narrow. We were led from the front of the restaurant to the back where our table of 6 was situated, via a fairly narrow corridor where they had nevertheless managed to squeeze a couple of couples tables. The atmosphere had the delightful buzz of a busy, happy place, but was not too loud to make conversation across a table for six at all difficult. This is important as Italian restaurants can, in my experience, be excessively loud. The service was extremely friendly and helpful from the word go, and they manage to pull off the trick of managing the table in terms of timing, Always seeming to appear when needed but never rushing the diners. We were allowed to dwell at our table for as long as we wanted, which hasn't always been the case on this trip to NYC where we have been hustled off the table a couple of times. I get that with COVID, but still, it is nice to be allowed to linger at a table with family and friends. The food was delicious and very well presented. Antipasti are generously proportioned and so one can order a selection for the table and have plenty. Of particular note on this visit was the Croquette di olive salumi - a delight. Calamari is a staple and also well done here. I ordered lasagne which is unimaginative I accept, but was fabulous and creamy and very filling. Desserts were also very well received on our table but I didn't partake. Definitely worth a visit, really excellent

A little pricey, but definitely well worth it! Lovely, romantic, great service, comfortable. Food is exceptional, Creme brûlée is fabulous, even the beer is terrific. Splurge a little!

We were here for lunch. It was a late lunch so we each only ordered a pasta dish. My wife ordered a special which was ravioli stuffed with osso buco. The ravioli was thin and not very favorable. Would never have known it was stuffed with osso buco. I had a taglioni with mushrooms in a cream based sauce. Again, ok. Seems like a dish you can get anywhere and definitely didn’t stand out. Service was fine. ambiance mediocre.

In our last night in NYC, we decided to check out this restaurant, and it is absolutely delightful. The service that we received from our waiter Raul was excellent, and the food was spectacular.

Met friends for dinner early on Saturday evening with reservations. Was seated at nice table but near noisy group that got noisier as evening progressed. Ordered seafood pasta listed as tossed with garlic/olive oil but arrived in bland tomato sauce. Very disappointing. My husband got pasta with clams but basically empty clam shells. Wine choices were totally different and more expensive than online menu. I would not recommend.

Quick dinner before the play. Waiter was great! We split the avocado & artichoke salad. My friend had the Pompadour pasta. I had to Seabass with the asparagus, and it was wonderful. Wetter suggestion for red wine was on spot. Enjoyed it!

Wonderful cozy restaurant. The menu was super. The pasta and tiramisu were fantastic! Our waiter was great. Highly recommended!

Absolutely outstanding. A true family owned and run establishment that feels like a Sunday Italian dinner at a friend’s home. Gennaro treated us personally as if we were regulars for their 44yr history.

Had an excellent dinner at Il Corso with my wife and nephew while visiting New York. We were seated immediately with our Open Table reservation. Food was very good, service was excellent, and it was a good value (considering in NYC)

Outstanding!! We come to NY frequently and this is the first time we’ve been to Il Corso but will not be the last. The menu was outstanding-We all had a difficult time deciding from all of the great selections. We all ordered something different and all LOVED our meals. The wait staff was fantastic! I wish I remembered our servers name because he was wonderful. On top of all of this the price of our meal was very reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We have been eating here for years during our visits to NYC and the food is consistently delicious. Service good, nice wine list, recent renovation is lovely. Highly recommend

We enjoyed a delightful family dinner here. There is a back room to the restaurant and it provided a quiet atmosphere where we could all carry on a conversation easily. Our various entrees and apps all seemed to be well received. I enjoyed my “four cheese and asparagus” risotto; the variety changes daily. My husband said his pasta Bolognese was delicious and it looked like a dish I would like to try in the future. I especially enjoyed the beet salad; my husband and I split it, which didn’t make for a huge portion but it was enough. The location is excellent and close to many midtown hotels. We will go back!

I stopped in here during a solo trip to New York City. I ordered the avocado salad which was beautifully presented and delicious. I wanted to follow it with some pasta but knew that would be too much food so the waiter very kindly offered to do a half portion of pasta. The pasta , cacio e pepe, was, again, very nicely presented, perfectly seasoned and delivered.

We had one of the best Italian meals in NYC - and we've eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants there. The staff is very friendly and highly professional. The meal was just perfect from beginning to end. Terrific specialty cocktails and fresh bread with a lentil and olive oil dip. Pasta with cheese and black pepper perfectly presented in a Parmesan cup and an exquisite panna cotta for dessert. Will definitely return when we go back!

“Italian” restaurant serving American cuisine: cream in most dishes (especially in the linguine olio e alio!), “sweet” and almost sweet flavors, very cooked pasta. It’s logical, it corresponds to the tastes of the numerous and satisfied clientele; this can be heard because the noise level is very high, it is very difficult to talk at the table...low price, which also explains the success.

Awesome Food, wonderful atmosphere and Food is Spectacular!! Mussels were fabulous!! Short Ribs and Bronzino were delicious!! Great Value with wines and pasta special too!!

Wonderful service, EXCELLENT dinner. We started with salads and then had the cacio e pepi and a divine creamy mushroom pasta. The pistachio tart was omg deLICIOIS. Nice wine menu. We will come back next time we are in NYC. Bonus that it's convenient to theatre. I felt transported to San Quirico de Orcia.

Both food and service is excellent! We came back for the third time to have lunch here. Best italian food in New York!

Very nice place with a few sidewalk tables. Better than the backend inside which is quite noisy. The Cace e Pepe pasta is the must have pasta to order. Great food and worth a visit.

I was here with two friends the other night, one of whom had been here before, and raved about the food. All of us had the artichoke and avocado appetizer as a starter, and it was sublime. I also had the cacio e pepe. It’s served in a Parmesan bowl and was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The flavors were excellent. It was warm evening, so we sat in the back room which has air-conditioning and it was quite comfortable. I thought the prices were super reasonable. I stay in Midtown a couple times a year for work, and I will come back here for certain!

We had a reservation for two on a Friday night in August and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was excellent and thorough and he explained that the restaurant is happy to fulfill special requests. Everything we ordered was fresh and prepared expertly. The prices were quite fair for the City. It’s a small restaurant and quite noisy inside but the atmosphere is still enjoyable.

We expected a lot more based on these rave reviews.. Food in particular. Portions for the Cacio e Pepe were appetizer size for nearly $22. The croquette appetizer big disappointment. Wine selection by the glass or half litre disappointing. Overpriced and underwhelming experience.

Was highly recommended by someone we know. We were not disappointed. Authentic Italian at reasonable prices. Great selection of homemade pastas, meat, seafood options. We would go back.

Great location, great food, great service. Pasta was delicious and generously portioned. Lots of choice including interesting selection of specials. Very handy for our hotel which was only a few blocks back from Central Park on W 57th. Highly recommend

Overpriced, never brought our bread, calamari rubbery. Very disappointing. Service not good. Would not recommend or return.

My daughter and I were heading for Broadway and wanted a good Italian dinner. Our server was well informed and very carefully described the specials. I was debating between a seafood special that included a Langoustine and a regular menu item that was mostly seafood. Finally I decided on the regular menu item with an added langoustine. I began my dinner with an appetizer that was Portuguese octopus. It was grilled to perfection. Naturally I expected the same from my next course however both the langoustine and shrimp were so overcooked that I could actually see that when the plate was first put in front of me. The clams and mussels were cooked well. Either the person expediting the food or the chef should have never let that plate out of the kitchen. Because we were in a time crunch I couldn't send it back but each of those selections are not that hard to prepare for a kitchen that could grill octopus as well as they did. Service and ambiance were first rate.

what an exceptional meal. only caveat-one item i had seen on the menu on their webpage, which led me to choose them, was not on the current (covid shortened?) menu. but everything we experienced from the service & ambiance through the meal was outstanding. early dinner before a saturday night show so restaurant not full at all. NYC covid protections in place all around. quickly & personably seated by our host. menu had many delicious sounding choices. a nice bread basket arrived with warm focaccia & baguette rounds. interestingly, it was accompanied by a small dish of lentils in what i assume was olive oil. this was a presentation i had never seen before, different from the more common balsamic/olive oil complement. the lentils didn't do much for us. my wife chose a Mista salad but after consulting our server thought it my be bigger than she needed as a starter so she requested an extra plate for sharing. when it was served, the kitchen had kindly split between two plates for us. a nice touch. our entree selections were both delicious pasta dishes. wife chose a special-parpadelle with veal & sausage ragu. rich red sauce probably simmered for hours with perfectly seasoned pork sausage and what i think was veal shoulder. what an outstanding dish. i chose the cacio e pepe-a heavy spaghetti with olive oil, black pepper and pecorino cheese. this was served in a "bowl" created from crispy parmesan cheese. when presented, it looked like a nest of spaghetti. but as you ate, you discovered the oil & pepper had drifted to the bottom and the heat from the pasta began to melt the cheese bowl! this all added up to a delicious rich cheesy, peppery, meld of flavor. i could have eaten another it was that good. we both cleaned our plates, which is rare. magically the dessert tray appeared. we chose the hazelnut tart. shortbread crust with rich chocolate filling similar to a nutella. plus a scoop of vanilla & drizzled with fudge. an impressive end to a great meal. highly recommend.

The service was excellent, the place is small but cozy. The food was 4 stars, the wine selection was ok one of the daily specials was incredible. I can’t remember the name of the dish but it had scallops, langostinos and the pasta was with squid ink. Delicious

We had a great pre-show meal here in early October. The restaurant is small yet cozy with excellent service and tasty Italian favorites. They have a great menu, very good cocktails, and a nice ambience. We will return!

This unique place has the aura of a neighborhood ristorante despite its location on a bustling midtown Manhattan street. Inside, you might as well be in a small Italian town. The service, authentic Italian cucina, and reasonably priced wines are exceptional. The pasta is delicate, cooked al dente, and delightfully seasoned, in my case with a wonderful wild boar ragu. The fact that the place is an easy walk from several very good midtown hotels is a definite plus.

Excellent. Quaint, friendly, delicious food, fresh pasta, inviting, warm. And Gennaro is so kind and helpful. Perfect portion sizes for delicious, quality food. Can’t wait to go again!

i am traveling a lot and eating a lot. I am not giving reviews to often because i like that people who read my reviews be sure that the recommendations is correct. I find this restaurant by looking good grades and i can confirm that if you want good quality food with nice atmosphere you are on right place.

If you are looking for fantastic Italian, with great service, and a delightful midtown atmosphere, Il Corso is a place you must try. Our third visit in as many weeks, we have not yet been disappointed. This time we started with the Crochette di Olive e Salumi, which is long form for delicious little fried finger food! Wow, those were excellent, and the sauce was wonderful as well. My wife and I followed with the ravioli of the day, which was Osso Buco filled with white sauce. All I can say is YUM. My daughter had Pappardelle Bolognese which she enjoyed as well. We sprinkled the meal with champagne, which always makes for a nice lunch. A pleasant surprise was the pistachio biscotti, which capped off a great meal. We recently moved nearby, and this cute 55th st block between 5th and 6th Ave is becoming a favorite, especially il Corso.

The good thing about browsing through NY restaurants on TripAdvisor is that you can scroll down endlessly and still pull off an excellent pick. That's how we ended up in Il Corso, a great traditional Italian etablissement where anything you order is good. Exception to the rule was a pasta with pistachio cream (I forgot it's name), which was not good but phenomenal, possibly the best pasta we've ever tasted. Consider its taste a warm-hearted compensation for NY's ridiculous price levels.

This will become an NYC fave. Great food, very friendly service. When they are speaking Italian you know it’s the real deal. Good wine selection and suggestions from the staff.

We enjoyed nice outdoor seating at this mid-town restaurant. The service was friendly and extremely efficient -- they were solicitous but didn't waste time with superfluous pleasantries. We had their risotto special, which was prepared with porcini and truffle. It was quite excellent. We also had the monkfish special, which was also very good, but a little on the bland side; it could have used some more interesting seasoning. Monkfish is known as the "poor man's lobster." Maybe so, but at nearly $50 for a single entree, it was more like the "rich man's version of the poor man's lobster!" All in, with tip, we spent $200 on dinner -- that was with only 2 glasses of white wine.

Happened across this restaurant, and what an amazing find. We sat outside on the patio (watch out for the bikes). The waiters were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, I had a wonderful lasagne, washed down with a lovely spritz (or two!) Definitely recommend!

Very good food. The burata was fine and the lamb ragu was good. The homemade pasta was nice. The flavors were a little mild, but pleasant. Wine menu is just ok.

Great Italian cuisine - probably better than in Italy ! We had ham / burrata as a starter , ravioli of the day , spaghetti Vongole / gamberetti. After that Desert / Espresso. Fantastic .

Cozy, romantic restaurant in the upper west side only minutes from our hotel. Our server was so nice and so helpful; there is nothing haughty about this place. My husband had lamb chops and small perfectly roasted potatoes. I had delicious homemade mushroom ravioli. The valpolicella wine was excellent and was reasonably priced. This was a nice start to a New york weekend.

We had a great dinner here. Excellent Italian pasta & salads. The Bolliansie was wonderful as was funghi pasta. I recommend it. And it was walking distance from our hotel. Smaller place & great service.

Had a pleasant dining experience with friends. Food well prepared and presentation very nice. Service very good, nice atmosphere and nice menu.

A small Italian restaurant near Central Park. The food is excellent, and the service too. We ordered mixed fried, and pastas as a starter. Recommended.

Welcome to a small nyc restaurant! It’s a bit noisy but that’s because everyone is enjoying the food and drink and company. The service is impeccable and attentive; even the water glasses are never ignored. The food is fresh and flavorful and creative. In all ways, a wonderful dining experience!

The food and service here are absolutely impeccable! Every dish was prepared to perfection, but the pistachio pasta truly stood out—it’s the best I’ve ever had and an unforgettable culinary experience. If you’re in NYC, this place is an absolute must-visit for a memorable meal!

The service. Dear lord, the food. The people we met (sitting next to us) who became friends. I'm not sure how I'm ever going to go to another restaurant without thinking 'it's not like Il Corso'. It was an evening I'll not forget.

A small pleasant and pleasant glimpse of Italian cuisine! in a sea of fast food! Prices in line with area and cuisine proposed!

Excellent small but lovely midtown Italian. They clearly take a lot of pride on all of their dishes. Our salads were delicious and the salmon and chicken w porcini mushroom dish was perfect. Look forward to returning soon. Quote enough for a business discussion. The dessert tray also looked great but we didn’t try.

Every single dish was simply delicious. The server, Gennaro, was great, with very helpful suggestions and recommendations. For example, it was really cold out so we wanted to start with hot soup. The special was white bean, all vegetarian. He suggested we share it because the portion was large. He was right. And the soup was so tasty with fresh vegetables. Next, the perfect burrata with a heavenly garnish of tomato, pesto and grilled artichokes. The artichokes were so fabulous that he had the chef make me a special side dish of them for the main course. For the entree, the freshest and tastiest bronzino I’ve had in a long time. Grilled on an open fire. Again, big enough to share. This place is perfect for a pre- theatre dinner, in walking distance to Carnegie Hall and City Center. Of all the many restaurants in the area, this is a must. We’ll be back for sure. Soon. Bravo, Il Corso. Well done!

It's not exactly hard to find Il Corsol, but with so MANY great places to eat, comming across one like Il Corso is a treat. It's small - reservations a must. What looks like a narrow bar with tables along one wall opens to a small dining room, a little less noisy, in the back with 24 tables or so. The food and service were top notch. Definitely worth adding to the list of great places to eat in New York City.

Excellent service and outstanding food. The homemade pasta was perfection. We had the Tagliolini al Limone and the Paccheri con Crema di Pistacchio e Salsiccia - would highly recommend both. If you are in NYC, stop in, you won’t be disappointed.

found this thanks to Trip Advisor. The food, service, wine, atmosphere everything was just excellent. I cannot wait to go back!

Stopped by and had an excellent fettuccine bolognese. It hit the spot on a cold day. Service was good and friendly.

It was awesome. Service was outstanding and the food and drinks were fabulous. It’s in a great location and easy to get to. What more can you ask from a dining experience??

We had a delicious lunch at Il Corso. The service was fantastic with a staff that was very attentive to our requests. We had the burrata, pappardelle and lemon pasta. All meals were well prepared with large portion sizes. The restaurant is small and charming. A good choice for lunch.

Very accommodating Fettuccine bolegnese was beef and excellent Bronzino Livornise style was very tasty Excellent waiter service

Extraordinary combination of ingredients and seasoning with exquisite service. We order half an order and it was perfect. Good wine. Great pasta!! Great service!! Ask for Genaro!!! He is the best!!! You won’t be dissapointed!! Bravo!!

Excellent restaurant! Food was perfect. Small but manageable inside the restaurant. Wheelchair friendly. Service was good too!

Went for a business dinner as a party of 6. Excellent service coupled with a great ambiance and prices ok for NY. Really enjoyable and food was Stunning!

The food, the service and atmosphere were all amazing! Delicious cheese and prosciutto, amazing risotto and yummy desserts! A gem worth finding!

The specialty is pasta, really delicious and well prepared. We ate gnocchi al forno and tagliatini 4 cheeses, very good dishes!!

I was hoping that I would find good italian food during our trip to new york this time atleast. Unfortunately, this one was not meant to be either. We sat outside and the ambience was good. The service was pretty good too, for the most part. Being a vegetarian, we always have limited options. However, i was kind of astounded to hear that they did not have various kinds of pasta (no penne, no rigatoni). So, I finally said alright do you have fettucine, and was told yes. They said they could make a pasta primevera with the fettucine for me. The dishes started coming out in a little bit as we were getting hungrier. The Gnocchi turned out to be much better than expected. And so was the salad( La Tartufetta). Half an hour in, and others were half way through their dishes when the waiter came in and says they don't have fettucine. What an italian restaurant!! They advertise pasta dishes but they seem to have only spaghetti. The other dishes were also a wash - Cacio e Pepe was just bland and unmemorable. As we reminisced about our dining here, we all agreed that we get better food at Olive Garden. I still have smoke coming out my ears when i think that i spent over $150 for this sucky food.

We stopped at this restaurant after visiting the Museum of Modern Art. We were pleasantly pleased with the Italian cuisine and desserts. Even though this is an Italian restaurant, there was Mexican music flowing melodiously throughout the restaurant which created for a cozy ambiance. The service was great and friendly too! I highly recommend this place!

We've been here several times and it's always one of our go-tos when we're in town. Solid neighborhood restaurant where everything is good, service is friendly and there is no attitude, no drama, just a good meal. Our kids really love the cacio pepe (without the pepe) in the parmesan cheese bowl.

The food was delicious with good quality and fresh ingredients. Impressive for such a small restaurant. Highly recommend it.

Amazing food. Lamb ragu best ever. Lasagna packed with flavor. Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Great vibe. Def will return.

Wonderful dinner - delicious food at every course, particularly the pasta entrees. Very cozy and nice ambience. I feel like this excellent restaurant is still a treasured secret of the locals, and we were very happy to discover it…

We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. The ambience was frantic because they had too few servers for the number of diners. The food was good, but nothing special. Taken together the experience was just OK.

The staff were phenomenal, the food was incredible. We didn’t book but should have, the place is amazing.

Based on previous reviews, we decided to try it. NYC is not inexpensive, but knowing that, we had a 5 star meal for a very reasonable price. We both had pasta, which could rival that in Italy. Service, drinks and servers 10+!

My husband and I went here for dinner for the first time while visiting NYC. When we sat down the owner came by and suggested some wine which turned out to be really good. We tried the truffle salad and the grilled octopus for appetizers and they tasted delicious..the octopus was really tender. For our mains we ordered the wild boar pappardelle and the seafood pasta. These dishes were absolutely delicious...the pasta was cooked perfectly! We also shared the creme brulee which was also delicious. Besides the great food, we really liked how super friendly and attentive the servers were...always close to check on everything but never intrusive. We will definitely be back when we are back in NYC and highly recommend for the excellent food and service!

Not only is this a pleasant restaurant -- simply painted in beiges, great smooth jazz music, comfortable seating, a block away from NY City Center), the food, with many gluten-free options, is first rate. We started with a shared "Avocado e Carciofini" ($27, Gluten-free): Avocado, marinated artichokes, Parmigiano cheese, lemon dressing, basil oil), a portion easily big enough for two. Then I had "Tagliolini al Limone" (substituting Gluten-free spaghetti, and leaving out the breadcrumbs, $29): Fresh pasta, lemon zest, lemon juice, Parmigiano cheese, fresh basil, toasted lemon zest breadcrumbs) a wonderful preparation new to me, and my wife had "Spaghetti di Mare ($34): Fresh spaghetti, shrimp, clams, calamari, mussels, cherry tomato sauce. Amazing! My Vermentino ($16) was fine. We shared a big Creme Brulee ($15): perfect, and Cappuccinos ($$6 each!). Nearby restaurants were much more expensive. Service was prompt and professional. We will definitely be back!

I love this place! Foodies take notice. Hands down one of the top Italian restaurants in NYC. Our service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. I started with a simple green salad that was out of this world. For my entree I had Branzino and my husband had the lasagna. We shared a lovely bottle of wine and paused for dessert. I had the nutella tart (melt in your mouth) and my husband had the chocolate souffle cake. We relaxed and took our time, ended with a tasty espresso. I will be back again, and again. New favorite

We had a great time at Il Corso, The stuff ware Friendly, Service was fast and professional, The Salomon fish and pasta was great and same as the panacota desert. Definitely One of the best!!

This is our second visit and it was just as good. Our party of 6 ALL raved about the food and service. We had entrees ranging from veal, salmon, pastas and daily specials. The cacio y Pepe is delicious! The staff is also super friendly and makes the experience special. Although I love trying different restaurants when visiting, I really value a place with consistently good food and service. Highly recommend!

This ticked all the boxes for a New York Italian dinner. The space is small and cozy, despite being in the middle of midtown chaos. The staff are attentive and polite. The bread is fresh and delicious, the pasta al dente (of course), the desserts wonderful. Our young child was well cared for here as well. Thank you!

Polished and professional service is rare today outside of extremely expensive restaurants. We found it here. Everyone on staff seems competent, engaged and welcoming. The food was excellent. My osso bucco had perfect texture and depth of flavor, with no skimping on the saffron for the accompanying risotto. So many great Italian places to try in NYC, I suggest giving Il Corso a try.

Was in NYC for the Christmas Season visit.....found this small Italian restaurant standing among large chain restaurants. My wife and I were greeted for dinner very cordially and professionally. The service was impeccable and friendly....in fact I explained that being Italian I liked to eat very slowly....which they said just motion when we were ready for the next course. The food quality and presentation were of the highest quality, and the wine list was top shelf! I am in Italy on a regular basis.... this is true Italy in Mid Town Manhattan! We like it so much .....we ate lunch there the next day! If you want a wonderful dining experience.....Il Corso is the place!

salmon was not fresh, terrible. tasted funny. .........sent it back. veal was dry as dust and overcooked..........eggplant appetizer was very good. but not worth $100 overall.

Wonderful experience dining here! Family owned restaurant with small dining area and both of our pasta entrees were fantastic! This is already on my list to dine here on my next visit to NYC.

An absolutely lovely meal, with friendly and attentive service from an attractive staff. What a pleasure! I had the pasta in a pistachio sauce (amazing) and on a second visit enjoyed the broiled salmon (divine!). I’m a big fan, and will be returning every time I’m in NYC.

Great Italian food, home made pasta, super truffle! Excellent wine and atmosphere. Great service too, very friendly and professional.

What a great little Italian restaurant 1 block off Avenue of the Americas and 56th. It is obviously a popular Happy Hour bar, as well. The wild boar rage over pappardelle noodles was amazing. The Chicken Parmesan was also tasty, but the cutlet was too thick. Great flavor, though. We also have a great priced Cabernet: 2016 Sebastian. boar Ravi We h

The Plaza sent us here years ago when everyone was hot and sweaty coming back from the MOMA in August 2013. I have been there several time since - great homemade Italian food, pace and presence. Pure relaxation. GO!

Delicious!! I have been to many pasta restaurants, including in Italy, but this one was a pass, everything was delicious, the pasta has an incredible flavor, as if they were left overflowing with the sauce, since even if you eat it without accompaniment, it has an exquisite flavor. I really recommend it. And we ordered dessert to try, and luckily we tried them. Please try the pistachio cake, it has a delicious cream. 1000/10 this place. In addition, those who serve are very loving, attentive and recommend their specialty.

This is a casual and unpretentious restaurant in Midtown. The food is very good, and there is a good wine selection. Cocktails are available too. Service is good.

We dined here last night during a visit to NY and had an excellent dinner. The food and service were excellent. I had the grilled octopus starter and grilled branzino main. My wife had the beef carpaccio and the veal Milanese. We were both very pleased. Our server was very good. I would give the place five stars except for the issues relating to the prices on their website and the prices in actuality. The real prices were considerable higher - 25% or so. I understand that the restaurant business has seriously suffered during Covid but this is borderline criminal.

We have now dined here on several occasions, lunch or dinner, because we generally stay at a nearby hotel. Indeed, the location is excellent. The decor, ambiance, and service are great (shout out to Iryne, the Maitre-d')! The cuisine is superb and reasonably priced, especially for upscale Manhattan. We have tried a half dozen entrees over the years and have never been disappointed. IMHO, you cannot do better in mid-town Manhattan.

We arrived at mid point of the lunch hour without a reservation. They accommodated use without hesitation. The food and service was outstanding. The Fritto Misto was excellent. I would return just for this dish.

Super well-kept, very clean, but above all authentic Italian restaurant around the corner from 5th Avenue. Pasta al dente, super fine, cooked al momento, the chef advises personally and it feels really Italian! Highly recommended!!!

This was such a delicious dinner! The prosciutto was amazing, the pasta was delicious, and the chocolate cake was the best I’ve had in a while. Service was amazing. Thank you so much for such a delicious dinner.

Small but charming spot that had our evening feeling wonderful from the food to the service. The restaurant is small and feels almost intimate but also gives off a neighborhood vibe. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and took great care of us from beginning to end. The server made great recommendations and we would be hard pressed to make any suggestions on improvements. The acoustics can be a bit challenging when the restaurant is full as it is on the more intimate of settings.

They got the order mixed up, and we had to wait for them to make the dish, they also didn't offer any compensation for the mistake made. Little consideration for your mistake.

I have been there twice with my mom and dad. The food is amazing and the staff is really friendly. I recommend 100%!

We dine here everytime we come to the city. Great Italian food and always served to perfection. We have been coming here for years. They always deliver.
Italy in New York
We had a business dinner planned and I was asked to recommend an Italian Restaurant and Il Corso it was! Alway cautious about making the choice when meeting new associates but it was the right choice for sure. Our associates loved the wine selection, the appetizers and number of delicious choices to choose from for dinner. It was a winning night.
