Of all of the places in little Italy, we ended up here at Il piccolo bufalo. The service was excellent, the place was beautiful, and the food was amazing. My family and I had a small pizza for an appetizer and we were all impressed! I definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.

We dined for lunch today, and the food and service was amazing!!!! Long lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon. We were not rushed, the food was delicious and the service could not be better. Beet salad - delish! An umbrella was offered to us as we left in pouring rain. We highly recommend!!!

Highly recommend! The shrimp francese was out of this world! Great service and even better food! The owner is the nicest guy on the block.

Found this place strolling the streets, great lunch special for 12.95. 5 dollar wine and beer. Chic parm and chic scampi and pizza. Historic place. Across from a cigar shop once owned by John Gotti.

The food very nice, specially the pizza, and the staff also, nice place in Little Italy We recommend a lot!

We are tourists from Houston and loved this place. Perfect outside seating with great food, and Joey was very kind and made our experience amazing. Definitely coming back for this authentic Italian cuisine.

We were looking forward to a somewhat authentic Italian lunch (we‘ve been to Italy a few times), or at least something as good as we can get at any pizza joint in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Instead, we got flavorless pasta and a lame pizza made with sauce out of a jar. I‘ve had much better frozen pizzas, quite literally. The final straw: the huckster who called us in off the street said free soft drinks...and then they tried to charge us for REFILLS!! (Nothin‘ doin‘...we made them take it off the check.) Gotta say, I feel like Little Italy in general is a rundown tourist trap, and I won‘t be going back for another disappointment. Try Eataly in the Oculus if you want a nice Italian experience; don‘t waste your time and money here.

Amazing experience at this restaurant. Food was amazing and staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially SAM, would recommend this restaurant to everyone and look forward to returning on our next trip. Best wishes, Scott

Very good Italian food nice restaurant friendly atmosphere, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Italian food while in New York

My daughter and I come here from Florida year after year. Joey is simply amazing and a pleasure to talk to each visit.

Great pizza and jokes! Giuseppe was very funny 😄. Has. Lunch with colleagues… was very relaxed and fun.

The food and service was very good. The waiter was very friendly and I would recommend to anyone who wants a delicious meal to visit them.

Joey is great. Food is great. Drinks are really great. Charming place! Just go already... and say hi to the David.

Excellent atmosphere and wonderful food. Joey the mgr is great!!!!! The waitress was just so so. We got serenaded by Joey as well.

The food was some of the best Italian I've ever had; with cheap prices too. Luna was an amazing server and Joey drew us in with amazing charisma and warmth. Would absolutely go again and recommend.

Employees make you feel at home and have a warm welcoming experience. Love joe!! Everything taste great!

They have the best food, best music Owner very friendly,I ordered lemoncello He told me lemoncello on me I highly recommend to try it

Awesome management! Joe was so funny and nice. Wonderful pizza! Wonderful atmosphere and great customer service

We stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring the Lower East Side. The funny (and kind but not pushy) man out front inviting customers in is how we chose this spot over the many competitors on the block. Spaghetti and meatball and calzone were excellent. Fun ambiance and decor, we would definitely eat here again.

Where do I start when we first arrived the waiter who was quite old was unwelcoming and quite very rude , we had booked 4 months ahead . the food took over 50 minutes to come and we had asked repeatedly for cups to come so we can drink are drinks and they onley came 5 minutes before the food and to add the Coca Cola was like water 0 fizz , pizza over cooked burnted and like charcoal.when showing politeness being completely ignored as if to say they can’t be bothered . Had to replace dirty cups because probably can’t be bothered to wash it properly. Not took cutlery away from our starter until the end of the meal gelato which claims to be home-made was just whipped out the freezer. Floor is cracked, which is a safety hazard They do not close the doors which made us very cold and made the experience even worse than was it already was Also been made to use the same knife and fork from the starter to our main And the toilet was horrible Unpleasant as if it had not been cleaned for years overall I would never ever recommend this to anyone big no from me !

I enjoyed everything about our meal! The restaurant was perfect and the food was wonderful! I ordered the cheese tray, a salad, and pizza! All of it was delicious!

We had the best time at this restaurant, the pizza was amazing, crispy thin base and fresh toppings all in generous portions, starter and pudding were great too we had melon and ham which was delicious and a chocolate mousse cake for pudding, can’t fault the food at all. Service was also very quick and friendly staff who went out of their way to help. House wine also very good. We had a great evening and would recommend to anyone. Thanks!

Being we were in New York City for Thanksgiving and that were Italian we had to make our annual trek down to Little Italy. Trip advisor ranked this as the best pizza in Little Italy. we found that the pizza was too cheesy and without much taste and my pasta dish was so under cooked that I couldn’t even finish it. The only thing that was good was the wine and the Caesar salad. Service was excellent but that was about it. Only bad meal we’ve had in four days.

The food and atmosphere here was awesome! Joey took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed! Would definitely recommend to others!

This guy Joey is the best he hooked me tf up. Highly recommend. He's also helped me pick out a chain in the tourist trap near by.

Normal restaurant in very busy area. nothing spiecal, just the atmosphere is nice and the food quality not bad.

Great Brick Oven Pizza 🍕 You will have touts along Mulberry. But the man outside here had an Italian American style and knew his baseball. Priced right and quality wait staff. And top notch European style Pizza. If you want NY or Brooklyn style, try the parlor style places as opposed to more restaurant style. It's ALL GOOD in New York. There are chain stores. But independent are often the best. A lot of times a Hispanic may be baking the pies, but it is still very good and unique to our City. YUM!🍕

The best value for great food and ambiance in NYC'S Little Italy. Joey, the Maitre D made us feel like visiting with family. "Forgettaboutit!" Don't go anywhere else. You won't regret going to IL Piccolo Buffalo. You'll really enjoy it!

underwhleming italian food. served burnt eggplant parmesan and dry chicken cutlets. you can do better. keep walking down mulberry street

I absolutely love the ambiance of this restaurant in Little Italy. The food was delicious and so worth the walk from SOHO. My favorite is the Pizza and wine. The staff and owner were friendly and accommodating with my requests. Been there multiple times when I go to NY.

Delicious food, friendly staff, in a lovely location. Highly recommend. The bolognese was delicious and the pizza oven is a great addition!

excellent pizza and service with a very friendly matradi. Easy to find, with out door dining. Outdoor service a little slow.

Eggplant Parm was the best! Luna & Joey gave the best service. Converted them to Patriots and Red Sox fans!!

Family had a meal and two loved it and the third thought it was average. Service was friendly but it took some time to catch waitresses eye. Ambience was good, comfortable seating and prices reasonable. Had to pay cash as credit card machine was not working.

After browsing the menus of the many restaurants along the street we were enticed by the fella out front with free drinks. The meals were both authentic and excellent. Very reasonably priced. Not the fanciest ambiance of the many restaurants in the area, just cozy and clean. You won't be disappointed.

Joe is super nice !! The drinks are bomb & the pizaaa was PERFECT !! The environment is friendly & very Italian !!

This is a fabulous Italian Restaurant. Great pizza, really quick service and a banging 80s soundtrack. The manager is a huge personality and really welcoming.

Yes, you walk down Mulberry Street and they all try to get you to come in but Arda convinced us this was THE RESTAURANT! The food was great and their “happy hour” wine for $5 a carafe was the kicker!!! The beet salad and stuffed artichoke appetizers were great!

My son and I stopped at the Il Piccolo Bufalo for dinner one evening. We found the service quite pleasing and eager to serve without being hovered over. The food was outstanding and the portions were large enough to fill us to where no dessert was needed. I would love to return to this restaurant with my wife in the near future.

Super Pizza, price answer the quality which was pretty good. For sure you should give them a try. And if you will come alone, they got buddies which can eat with you :)

Place is awesome. Mussels reminded me of the ones I got in Italy! Husband had the Sunday gravy and couldn't finish it all. Sit outside, Joey provides the entertainment!

Great restaurant near the high line serving lunch and dinner. We o my had lunch but the food and service was excellent, good quality of food and drinks. Well Done!!!!!

My wife and I were walking by this wonderful eatery and asked in by Joey the Mgr. From the very second we sat down it was a wonderful experience, a regular customer sitting next to us suggested several of his favorite dishes. He not only suggested but actually gave us some of his order to try. I cannot speak highly enough of the food and service. We enjoyed ourselves so, much we returned the next day for lunch. We live in Dallas and I can only say, we will return every time we are in New York. Thank you for such a wonder experience.

💥🦄🍨🍦🎂☕️🥳🤩😍🤤 Came here to beat the heat with some Gelato and tiramisu. The owner, Giusseppi, or Joe, is a giggle and a half. Great company with trivia and a grin!

The 'Special' was "Spaghetti & Meatballs" (plural) but only had two HALF meatballs (so, less than two). The beer was warm & flat, and they helped themselves to a 20% tip on the 'check'.

We met Sam, the host in front of the restaurant. His hospitable greeting set the tone to our enjoyable experience with the entire staff at Il Picolo Bufalo! Our waitress Andrea was very attentive in servicing us. The other staff members who went out of their way to accommodate us were Sam, Raquel & Pedro who had ensured the pizzas were cooked to perfection, & they were!). When we thought that it couldn't get better than this, the owner, Alex engaged in a friendly & welcoming conversation with us and offered us dessert on the house! It's no wonder the staff had such excellence in their service, it trickles down from their main boss! We will most definitely recommend Il Piccolo Bufalo to friends & families! With sincere appreciation, Lorie & Andrew from the Upper East - Manhattan

We were walking down the street and looking at the different menus trying to decide where to eat. Joey, the guy out front, made the sale for us. We were going to keep looking, but his personality and knowledge of Kansas City sports won us over, so we gave it a try. It was pretty good Italian food and reasonably priced. I would suggest getting a Calzone or the Chicken Parmesan, if you like those already. The staff inside was very friendly as well.

Arrived in NYC yesterday for my wife's birthday, also wanting to make her first trip to New York as special as can be. It so happens that her bucket list includes tasting a New York Pizza Pie. I googled top pizza places in Manhattan and Il Piccolo came up as one of the best. Willing to give it a go, we dined there tonight...it was absolutely bellissimo!! It is how pizzas should be - crispy and smoky wood fired base with enough spring in the dough to create latitude in texture. Delicious and quality toppings with the perfect amount of sauce to keep the base from going soggy. The staff were also fantastic (a special mention to Joey). They represented a true passion for their restaurant and the fantastic food produced there. If we could set up a franchise to bring this restaurant back to NZ we would!!

Looks like we fell in a trap actually… In the heart of Little Italy, you’d expect to eat in a typical Italian atmosphere. Well, not in this restaurant, as there were too little Italian touches to give you the feeling you’re in Italy. Besides, the service wasn’t very impressive, and nor was the food. Let’s say it was just ok, although overpriced... and let’s say we’ll never go back.

Great happy hour, huge pour of chianti for 5$. the best part is they were happy to accommodate my allergies. i cant have garlic and dairy.. they made my spinach gnocchi bolognese without either and it was fantastic. the family also had margarita pizza with tons of basil, linguini and clams, and puttanesca. all fantastic! great value, big portions, not crazy priced like all the other top rated places.

We found Il Piccolo Bufalo in NYC’s Little Italy area. We walked several blocks looking at the menus of all the restaurants in the area and decided to try Il Piccolo Bufalo as the had been Zagat rated and the host at the front was much more polite and not overly aggressive like the other restaurants. The weather had cooled off a bit that day and they had seating outdoors and also offered an early bird special that was still available for us. For our food order, our party of 3 started off with the Caesar salad to share. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken Marsala, the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Chicken Francese which was offered as a special ($14.95 instead of the menu priced $17.95). Our servers were both polite and efficient. We were severed a short time later and e food was very good. We would go here again.

One of the best pizzas that I’ve had. Fairly basic interior more cafe than restaurant. Top marks. Great coffee.

Exactly what I needed! Had fresh pizza and a beer that was out of this world. Bonus was chatting with Joe (Guiseppi ) highly recommend

We enjoyed an early dinner with glasses of Chianti, which were generously poured and which we appreciated! We dined on chicken parmsesan and gnocci. The food was tasty. This is a charming little restaurant with a street view. We sat inside that day because it was a little chilly. The statuary in the windows is interesting!

Had a nice Shrimp Francese topped with broccoli rabe. I washed it down with a nice bottle of Chianti. The friendly service with Dean Martin playing in the background made it a wonderful summer afternoon😍

FOOD WAS A 100/10. Great Customer Service toooo. Cant get better than this place!!!! Best in Little Italy Joey Will have you laughing out your seat.

This is the best Pizza place ever ... authentic Italian and desserts are amazing 😍❤️ Don’t go to the other Italians .. this is real and edgy - Luna and Joey are both loving and genuine - worth every $$$ 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🗽🗽😋😋😋

The food was ok, nothing special. My calzone was barely warm (something tells me it was not made fresh to order). Other dish - Alfredo pasta- too much sauce, overpowering.

Pizza restaurant in Little Italy where you can enjoy excellent Italian-style pizza. Alex, who takes care of the customers, is a very nice and well-prepared "master" of the house, who makes you enjoy the climate of Italy. I highly recommend everyone to stop at this place. Very good value for money.

Good views outside of Little Italy but expensive for ice cream. We were inticed in by a friendly chatty man, who originally we thought was Italian. But when we got chatted was from Romania. We sat outside and just ordered 2 ice creams $15.77. £11.82 GBP🇬🇧. Very expensive for 2 ice creams. The ice cream was nice .Pity about the price. The service was good and friendly..

Food was good, service wasn’t so we didn’t tip (and clearly marked this at the bill). Just checked the credit card statement, they charged 5$ more. Now that’s a way to make more money and tip yourself! Wow.

Visited with a large group and we were in a bit of a hurry so it was unfortunate that the food took ages and two orders were missing. One was my vegan pizza. They apologised and went on to make this but when it arrived it was clear they had given me a gluten free base with normal cheese so I had to send this back. Sadly we had not got enough time for me to eat another but they made one and boxed it up for me to take. It was only on opening the box several minutes later after leaving that I saw it was vegan cheese (good) but still gluten free base (not good). I’m guessing that the pizza bases normally must contain dairy or egg there (unusual?) but I’m thinking they misunderstood vegan as gluten free? I’d give the place/food 1/5 for my personal experience but 4/5 for the rest of my group who enjoyed their food, despite the speed of service.

Ok food, very poor service with staff arguing with each other, several diners walked out. Hopefully an isolated bad night...

My daughter and I actually had planned to eat somewhere else, but the friendly staff (Joey I think) found the perfect table outside for us to enjoy Little Italy people watching! Food was excellent and generous, the waitress was friendly and efficient. I noticed how she treated 2 elderly patrons (seemed like locals) in a very warm and tender fashion. If you go to Little Italy, this delightful restaurant will provide a memorable experience.

We had a pizza (pizza anna) for lunch here and it was good but nothing out of the ordinary and a bit hard to cut to be honest. The owner or who seems to be the owner stands outside and regularly comes in to chat with clients while they are eating and make jokes (while some may appreciate this I do not, even though he did not come to our table probably because we were in a corner with no easy access). When ordering the check the waitress made sure to tell us and write down in the check that tip is not included (as if we did not know) and when taking my credit card she said that the tip could be paid in cash if we liked to (again as if we did not know) Tha place is small but it was not packed at the time we were there.

Joey and Lina were amazing!! We felt right at home! Joey speaks 4 languages and created an environment of home and family. The food was delicious. We are very glad to leave New York with a taste of Italy.

We recently found ourselves in Little Italy in NYC with family who had never been there. I quickly checked out trip advisor & picked Il Piccolo because of such good reviews. We were so happy this was our choice. Everything we sampled was great. I had the pasta primavera which was so good. Lots of veggies & wonderful sauce. My husband had a pizza & it’s little Italy! Need I say more! Loved it. Our other members had eggplant parm which they loved. Anyone wondering where to eat when in Little Italy, give Il Piccolo a try. You won’t be disappointed!

service and food was amazing!!! definitely will come again!!!! i loved every part of this place and was a great place to come!

Joey is so funny. He was out there working his little tail off to get people to come in and eat. The pizza here was really good. The servers were very nice.

Great value!! Very well situated in the hustle and bustle of Little Italy. Some fantastic conversations with the staff. Would recommend

This place comes highly reccommended as it's the only place in New York my partner and I thought worth to visit twice during our stay there. The pizza is one of the best I've had, drink selection is very good and fairly priced and the staff is extremely accommodating.

We ordered a couple of pasta dishes that were on offer on the menu and they were spectacular. The waiter, a young guy, was very friendly. Also, the place is nice, they play nice background music and they are very nice

This is a good Italian restaurant right in the middle of Little Italy. The service was good and the place is simply decorated. Our reservation was for 6:00 and though we arrived early, we were seated right away. We were a party of 6 that got several different entrees. While you can order off the menu, we asked for the board specials, which were the same dishes of a smaller size, but still very generous portions. The spaghetti and meatballs was very generous. The sauce was not too thick and seasoned just right. One person got the spaghetti bolongnaise, which was full of meat. The chicken parmigiana was a very large piece of chicken with a very generous side of spaghetti. The prices were extremely reasonable. With lots of restaurant choices in NYC, II Piccolo Bufalo will not let you down.

We stopped at this place on Saturday during the San Genarro Feast on Mulberry st. After spending so many hours on the street we just wanted to find a place where we could sit down and have a drink. This was the perfect place. We sat at a high top table and had several beers and wines. The ambiance was great and the staff was quick to take care of us and constantly checked in on us and kept the beers coming. We liked it and it fit our needs for this particular day. We did not dine at the restaurant so I cannot comment on this side of the restaurant.

When in Little Italy... you eat like an Italian! We were walking along Mulberry when Dino suggested we step inside for dinner. I was hungry and not about to argue, so we went in. It's a cozy restaurant and the staff were very nice. It smells deliious inside. I ordered fettuccine alfredo and garlic flatbread. It was amazing! The portion was perfect; I could have easily shared it with my teenage daughter but she wasn't hungry (thankfully) so I happily ate up. The flatbread was garlicky and warm, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was quick, affordable, and warmed me up so I could get back out on the street and continue my day.

Joey is the best of the best and the food is delicious!!! Highly recommend! We’re here for 4 days and we’ll be back before we leave! Thanks Joey!!

Joey encouraged us to step inside this quaint little restaurant in Little Italy. Great happy hour and fabulous pizza and Joey made us feel like family! It’s a must do in NYC!!

Yummy! Wonderful authentic food. Super friendly engaging Joe is the best. Brush up on your trivia ❤️💚🤍 Salute The Lewis'

First timers in New York and we couldn’t have picked a better restaurant to eat at than Il Piccolo Bufalo! They offer an affordable lunch special that was truly authentic! Fresh bread was amazing! I had the spaghetti meatballs was delicious. Joe welcomed us and was a great host.

Food is amazing I had the Chicken Francese for lunch. Joe is one of the hardest working guy I’ve seen. I will most definitely come back

Seems as though we made a bad choice in our food selection. The lasagne was reheated and not fresh and lacked that rich deep lasagne flavours we all love, the chicken parmigiano was OK but overly salty in places we finished of with what is to date the worst tiramisu we have ever had. Such a shame. But having said all that about the food, that wasn't the most shocking thing of the night. It was the rushed rude abrupt service of the waitress, that left us in disbelief. Trying to take drinks before we'd even finished them, and as soon as we got the desert and it was placed on the table, she said i'll get your bill. To top it of adding the tip herself ( which I didn't pay ) especially when the service was so bad.

I had the most amazing beef lasagna at this restaurant. The lasagna came with a yummy salad, too. The staff and the ambiance were fantastic. Restaurants in this neighborhood are pricey, but not this one. You should definitely try it if you are in town.

This restaurant has utterly delicious Italian food. I went with my friend who recommended it to me, and I had a blast. I ordered a Caesar salad, and quite possibly the best mushroom pizza I've ever had. I also ordered a decadent carrot cake with whipped cream, and ate that with part of my friend's ricotta cheesecake. Those two desserts were two of the best ones I've ever eaten; they were sweet, but not cloying, and incredibly moist. I particularly loved the cheesecake. My server was Nook, who was very nice, courteous and quite diligent with her service. Overall, this is a phenomenal restaurant that should be recognized more often among the many Italian restaurants along Mulberry Street.

Nice little pizza place in Little Italy. We came after reading the reviews and overall had a nice experience, although nothing to write home about. We shared a massive pizza, which was cooked really well, with a nice crispy base. If you come to Little Italy, I would say that this is probably one of the least touristy restaurants so give it a go. Can’t beat a proper Italian in Italy though!!

Wow what a place! Joey reeled us in and nothing short of satisfaction. He's quick with a joke and a great time. Luz took care of us and was very helpful in recommendations. Excellent street view to people watch and enjoy the ambiance little Italy has to offer!

Excellent food 🥘 and excellent service I’m so happy Joey stopped us and welcomed us to have lunch . He suggested chicken cardinal . Omg! It was so delicious. And our friends from Africa wanted oven brick pizza . Their wish came true ! Rachel the waitress was so charming and friendly . Excellent service ..... it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and I’ll Piccolo Búfalo just put the cherry on top . Joey gave us a true Italian welcome and experience in this NYC - Mulberry street. He suggested also lemoncello after our lunch . Omg! What an incredible experience ! Loved loved loved loved it ! And my friends got such a treat ! Thank you Joey! Your Italian jokes were right on point ! It made such a great Italian experience.

This is a nice place to enjoy great Italian pizza! We tried the classic pizza and 2 pasta dishes, 50$ all. Ambience is not that nice but food is decent and with good portions . I would go again for pizza!

Joey was a phenomenal, funny host that treated us very well. The food was great and the vibe was fun. Will come back very soon

The shrimp francese with broccoli rabe was to die for. We topped it off with a nice bottle of Malbec. The music induced a wonderful romantic ambience.

Visited this restaurant on a Thursday night. On a fairly quiet night around little Italy this restaurant was one of the busiest. Special menu was lobster spaghetti. The waitress was very busy and struggled to cope with taking orders and serving food .credit to her for working so hard and doing her best .she didn't seem to be getting much help .when the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It was delicious .easily worth the 19 dollars that it cost for the special ofcthe day. All staff were friendly and chatty .despite the problems with the service everyone seemed happy with there meals . I would visit this restaurant again of I'm in N.Y..

Stopped into this restraunt for my friend's birthday lunch. We were greeted by Joey who made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, food is amazing, and the staff is friendly. They also helped me to celebrate my friend's birthday! We loved our visit here!

We headed to Little Italy around dinnertime and were amazed by the choice of restaurants available. We didn't have a particular restaurant in mind and with a little help from Google chose Il Piccolo Bufalo. We were seated quickly and ordered 2 of the large pizzas (1x Doc Margherita and 1x Quattro Stagioni) to share between 4 of us and from our seat we could see the chef hand stretching the dough near the pizza oven. The pizzas were served stacked on a 2 tier stand and of the pizzas we had, the Doc Margherita was the best which was surprising as its a simple pizza with a few ingredients. The meal we had was not too expensive either and afterwards we popped over the road to pick up a 'worlds best' cannoli to round off our meal!

The food here is amazing and Joey the host is just as delightful. I’m pretty sure Brett the pizza man is the best pizza maker in New York. Stop by for a good time!

Decent service but the food let it down. I ordered a spaghetti carbonara and received a bowl of onion in oil, complemented by some spaghetti, bacon and carbonara sauce. Interesting, but not enjoyable. Back off on the onion!

We found this place while on a tour. The pizza was great. The owner was out side getting customers, but came in to make sure we were taken care of. Would have given it 5 watiress was slow and did not offer any help when my daughter spilled her drink

A very Americanized Italian restaurant. Food was o.k. As for the wine, I am not too sure it was wine. Coffee was substandard. Staff was very friendly, though.

Decent pizza and nice staff. Got the pizza with roasted peppers. Good and tasty Real pizza oven and good prizes

We dined at Il Piccolo Bufalo on 5th January 2024, we walked into Little Italy as I love the old Mafia and Cosa Nostra connections. We wanted to eat but we're spoilt for choice! We decided on Il Piccolo Bufalo based on the really nice guy who was both polite, charming, and somewhat enticing (wish I'd of got his name) we couldn't say no and inside we went. Charming little eatery in the heart of Little Italy, the owners are either from Naples or love Naples as its interior is based on a quaint Naples restorante, the decor is neat with a cute additive of cuddly Buffalo's all over the place, little cold near the main entrance where we was sat but not on issue. The menu is really reasonable with lots of choice there really is something for everybody here, the food is hot when it arrives which is a super addition, there is a great selection of alcoholic drinks, we ordered a garlic bread to start which came with a signature dip on Balsamic Vinegar, Olive Oil and a chefs own tomato type paste, mmmm delicious, our mains was a Mushroom Pizza 16' and a smaller plain Margarita 10' all was absolutely fabulous. If you're heading g down to Little Italy 🇮🇹 you will be spoiled for choice, but hand on heart, this is the place to eat, very friendly staff, great premises and a menu to suit every pallette. Bravi ragazzi, il vostro ristorante è stato di gran lunga il migliore, torneremo grazie

This place is a dream for pizza lovers. The crust it perfect, not too thick, not too thin, just the right amount of crispy and chewy. Even if you are coming for the great entrees (exquisite veal and seafood!) at least share one of these amazing pies.

We loved our visit. The food was fantastic, the service was great and Joe runs an amazing place. Oh and the drinks are delicious. Will definitely come back! Thank you Joe!

We were a party of 2 and we wanted Pizza and this place served the best pizza I've ever eaten. The service was great too.

Try the chicken cardinal! Friendly owner, great food and prices. Unique dishes and a great setting! Check it out!

Fantastic. Great atmosphere. Had the “Doc” Margherita pizza. Absolutely fantastic. Pizza was great. I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as good. Do yourself a favor and stop here if your in Little Italy.

Delicious! Great friendly service! My friend and I were overwhelmed with all of our choices for lunch. We were so glad we ate here! The linguini with musssls and pork lasagna were amazing!

We were in Little Italy where are plenty restaurants and after checking the menu we chose this one. We chose from "Today's specials" - meat lasagna (USD 13.95) and maniccoti, (USD 13.95). We also ordered 2 side salads (USD 4). To drink I had cappuccino (USD 6.21) and we had also tap water. The taste of the meals was OK but my lasagna was like kids portion. Then we asked for the bill, it came with surprise - 20% tip which we didn't approve. When I claimed that we didn't say to add the tip and their menu doesn't mention tip will be added automatically the lady said everybody here in Little Italy does it. I was very cross with this as I pay and I decide if I give a tip or no and how much. So I did request to correct the bill and bring it back without tip. She discussed it with older gentleman for a while and after about 20 minutes she came back and the bill was only for what we consumed. While we were waiting for the bill to come back the couple next to us agreed with our stand. So warning - give the tip only if you are happy with it. That's the reason for my rating.

We had the chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan. They were great and the portion sizes were plentiful. Great atmosphere in Little Italy. I can't believe we were able to sit outside on November 2. The host Joey was hilarious.

Came here during our Xmas trip to NYC. Waitress was attentive despite being only waitress for the restaurant. Food was delicious and we saw our pizza being made in front of us. Was probably our favourite meal of the trip.

I visit NYC several times a year and always eat at the same places in little Italy. We were hungry, hot and walking by and impulsively decided to try it. So happy that we did! The service, food and prices were fabulous! Luna was our server and she was extremely accommodating & friendly. The lunch portions were perfect. They have delicious homemade bread with balsamic oil that you can’t stop eating. This was a great find and we will be back.

Joey was awesome! The food was AMAZING! If you’re not familiar with traditional Italian they will pick the perfect food for you!

This is a nice small place in NYC little Italy. We had a 6 person party which is probably the max you can have here. We agreed to share all the dishes. We got 2 different flavored pizzas. A Margherita and a Caesar pizza. Both were very good. We also had an pasta dish with rappi and sausage. This would be a white sauce. This dish was kind of bland. It had one small piece of a sausage that wasn’t very good. We had to try the meatballs of course and those were average at best. The last item was a beet green salad and this was really good. Fresh ingredients and tasty. Overall a nice experience but not blown away by the food.

In the heart of Little Italy, and close to Chinatown. This is a gem of a place to eat. The food was amazing... The staff was super friendly. We enjoyed our experience there and our friends ended up going back. We were trying to find good pizza in the area and the other restaurants only had "personal" size and we wanted "family" size (Large). We were not disapointed and very glad we tried this "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant.

Great little spot for dinner in Little Italy. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Brick oven pizza looked amazing and we all kind of regretted not getting some to try. We dined inside with kids ranging from 10-17. There was not a kids menu. I had the shrimp and spaghetti - my meal was delicious. Everyone at our table was very happy with their meal. The marinara sauce was perfect. Portion sizes were large, but not too big. Before dinner we had complimentary bread sticks. We liked the breadsticks but didn't like the dipping sauce - it tasted more like ketchup to us. The only reason this is 4 and not 5 stars is the service was a little slow. Food came out promptly, but drinks, taking order etc was slow. This is a casual place to eat - we had on jeans. We liked that it was family owned and had a long history. There are also bathrooms available to use inside.

Stopped by after shopping in little Italy! Was so glad we did. Enjoyed the staff, food and the total experience!

We were persuaded to enter by one of the restaurants street men who try to coerce you in by telling you how good the food is and showing you magazine reviews etc, But in reality the food is not as good as it is made out to be. First of all we were having our anti pasta when our main meal arrived which meant we were now eating two meals together, why do restaurants do this? it only puts customers off returning. I had meatballs which were not very warm, obviously pre made and not heated enough, The garlic bread was rock hard and could have been used as a weapon. But the beer was reasonable and the prices weren't a rip off like some places

The Spag Bol was absolutely to die for and the pizzas are probably the best I tasted on my visit to NYC. A really nice and casual spot, perfect after a busy day of sight seeing in NYC! Staff were lovely and helpful also !

Joey n Raquel are a great combo. U feel like home. Food is amazing. Brick oven Marguerita Pizza n Penne a la Vodka. Yummmmmm!!! We'll be back. Thinking of going elsewhere??? Fagedabout it!!!

I had a large event to attend and wanted some quiet time to unwind in Little Italy. I was craving eggplant parmigiana or pizza and, lo and behold, the two specials offered on the menu were those two items. I stepped inside to this welcoming establishment, ordered a beer, a meal and then finished it off with an espresso and a cannoli. Definitely one of the highlights of my most recent NYC journey. Great service. The nonstop Frank Sinatra soundtrack was the perfect company.

Having been brought here by “Dino” on the corner we were really just keen for a heat! Opted for the seafood Marina and it was delicious. Lovely food, staff and restaurant and all a really good price. After dinner zambuca on the house certainly warmed us up too. Would recommend.

The food was really good and the greeter was excellent! Made us feel at home. We got some specials from the lunch menu and some from the regular menu. Everything was good!

We ate here our first day in New York and Geno was great! The service was good, food was even better.

I had a wonderful lunch today ! My waitress Raquel couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. I will be back and tell all my friends to come as well.

My husband and I were walking through Little Italy and checking out the menu's for every restaurant. We walked up to the menu, and the gentleman outside was telling us about the restaurant and the food. He was extremely friendly and impossible to say no to so we were escorted to a table. The inside is warm and cozy, a perfect venue to get out from the cold rainy weather we were experiencing that day. I ordered the Penne in Vodka Sauce and my husband had the Linguine al Pescatore. Both dishes were fantastic, and we didn't want to get to the bottom of the dish. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Good service! Pizza was great! Love the brick oven! Staff are so sweet! Really enjoyed the experience

Best "Doc" Marguerite in town! Sangria is delicious and the Price is very affordable. A place to come 💛

Great place for my family to get out of the cold. Pasta was excellent! Noodles were perfectly cooked. Pizza was pretty good too. Reasonable prices and no annoying guy out front of this place trying to drag you in. Calzone was a little skimpy on the filling, and I even added two extra items. Would recommend overall.

Was looking for a place to eat on Mulberry and Joe greeted us with some Italian singing and lured us in. He was very friendly and so was the staff. Food was also amazing! Highly recommend!

Visiting New York and been here twice already!! Amazing food and Joe and Raquel took great care of us! Must dine here!!!

On a walk after visits, we find ourselves here in front Very nice place Ate Italian dishes and pizza Very good pasta. Very kind staff Possibility to pay in euros

This place is wonderful!! I loved the vibe of the outdoor dining. My friend and I stopped in here for a quick drink, and we had a nice chat with Joey. The prices of the drinks are fair for their great quality, and I can tell that the family who owns the place really cares about their guests. Wish I could give six stars!

We couldn't decide on which restaurant to try in little Italy! This place was great with friendly service and good food. We had a pizza and the atmosphere was lovely. Won't go wrong here!

We saw a video of Kevin heart rating this pizza place and decided to visit it during our four days in the city. My bf ordered a magarita pizza and I got a seafood linguine. Pizza was good, but extremely cheesy. Haa much cheesier than any other pizzas we had. I love the seafood linguine, clams and prawns are so huge and fresh, and the linguine was actually really tasty. A little bit too salty but overall I really enjoyed it. The service in there was really good too.

Stopped in for a quick meal while walking past , should have kept walking lol. Wife had lobster far diavolo which was very tough and bland. My spaghetti puttanesca was bland and had too many capers.

We had a late lunch here on a snowy day. The tasty food and warm and inviting atmosphere were perfect! I had the chicken in a creamy white wine sauce and it was just what I was looking for.

This place has the best customer service and best food!! Great wine! Amazing espresso!! Deserts are off the charts! You feel like you are home here!! The lentil soup is out of this world!! Joey the host is a blessing to this world and he will make you laugh until you cry!! If you don’t eat here, you are missing out!!!!

It doesn't have the glitz and glamour of some of the others on this street but that is kind of its appeal. It serves decent food at a decent price and the staff are true Italian-American right from the 'Papa' who greets you. It comes across as a truly family run establishment. My only gripes would be - sort the toilets out - they do not become the rest of the restaurant and really bring it down and the fact it is next to a smoke shop (can't be helped) but the smell of weed could put some patrons off (my neighbour smokes it a lot so for me it as home from home) but it is NOT constant and therefore I would say it is not a deal breaker for what this place offers. VISIT.

The chicken fettuccine alfredo was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The pizza was fantastic, too. The crust was perfect. The people were very friendly and spent time getting to know us. We loved it.

So many places to choose from but I had heard the pizza was good here. I loved it! My husband enjoyed his “Sunday Gravy” meal too.

I always go to this restaurant for a good Italian pizza every time I come to New York !! My favorite "quattro formaggi" and the " pizza bianca" !!

This is the first restaurant that I selected based on TripAdvisor that I thought was really bad. It had such good ratings and ended up so poor. My husband and I went for an early dinner. The restaurant was just switching over from lunch to dinner. My husband asked the difference, and we were told the dinner portions are bigger, so the price is a little higher. My husband ordered the lasagna, his favorite. I had the eggplant parm, a special. Service was very slow, even though the restaurant was only about half full. Our food took a long time to arrive. When it came, I tried my meal and the eggplant parm was covered in sauce and cheese, but it tasted burnt . I looked under the sauce and cheese and the breading was black. My face must haves said it all, and the waitress asked if everything was alright. I told her the food tasted burnt, and in fact was burnt. She offered to send it back and get me something else or another of the same. I asked for a non-burnt eggplant parm. As I waited, my husband tried his lasagna. First, it was the smallest piece of lasagna we had ever seen. It was about 2" by 2". No kidding. It was baland and not very good. It was a very small portion for lunch, about 4 bites, and this was the dinner portion. So I got my eggplant parm a second time, and it was good. It was also a small portion. When we finished, the bill was presented. It listed my husband's lasagna, at the dinner price, and two eggplant parms, at the dinner price. We had to call the waitress over. At that point, we had only seen her to order-after sitting about 15 minutes, and when the first food was delivered and I had to send back the eggplant. Now she brought the check. She never checked on my meal after it was brought out again. We asked what the third meal was and she apologized and removed it. We left the restaurant still hungry and about $50 lighter than when we entered. I would not recommend this place at all. Crappy wait staff, extremely small portions, and not well prepared food.

While a walk in Little Italy I heard about this place as having good pizza so I said I'll give it a shot. The inside looks more like a cafeteria, not like an Italian restaurant. However, I have asked for a Margherita Pizza but I received a Pizza Napolitana. I did not say nothing because I was hungry and I was trying to avoid a conflict between me and the restaurant waiter/manager. The pizza was good though even if it was the wrong one! I would not visit again this place, definetely more better options in Little Italy. by the way, it is overpriced!

After a morning of museums, by mid-afternoon some pizza and a glass of wine was called for. This is a fairly small place, but the welcome was warm and the pizza and wine were excellent! We came here based on the reviews from Trip Advisor, and will definitely come again next time we're in New York.

Our family are here after a long day at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The subway ride was very short. The food was the best pizza ever. Service was friendly and very Italian:) my son pick this place off trip advisor and it was worth the time And money.

Bland, tasteless Wine had pizza , bland Salad - nearly inedible Pasta bolognaise edible Tourist trap I would recommend staying away

Great Pizza and service, definitely would come back! Joe took great care of us at the door and the waitress was super friendly and knowledgable of the area.

We stopped on a recent Sunday on our way down Mulberry Street to check out the menu. We all agreed it looked good so we decided to stop for a late lunch - early dinner. The food was very good - we enjoyed an order of the baked clams and the burrata cheese appetizers and the house pizza slice. Our entrees included Veal Parm, Eggplant Parm, Shrimp marinara, Tilapia and spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was very good and we all agreed we would recommend each selection. The service was also very good and we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the people strolling along the street. I would definitely recommend Il Piccolo Bufalo!

This restaurant was a great find. We were recruited by Joey and he was great to us! Great customer service and great chicken parm specifically if your looking for that. Definitely will come back, thanks Joey!!

As an Italian… not Italian food. Everything but fresh ingredients… We went up & down the road trying to figure out where should be go in and I screwed up… first, not even one of the employees was close to an Italian ancestor… I think this is the only one “Italian restaurant” without any Italian food. Pizza, antipasto, pasta all wrong ingredients and the substitutes, they didn’t even match… And, as you can see in the pictures… what the hell is having stuffed buffaloes all around? Small pieces of the fabric were flying around and landing on customers plates, that was really disgusting… seriously, don’t even step into this place

Very good, friendly welcome, good food, reasonable price, good heating in winter! Doggie buffaloes are good table companions ;).

Joey greeted me warmly middle of a busy Thanksgiving lunch and made sure I was taken care of even though I was solo - the food was wonderful. I had the fettuccine alfredo and the calamari. When I told them how much I loved it they were very sweet and gave me a little meal nightcap!

Excellent food and service.... make sure to ask to hear some jokes from host!!!...quaint atmosphere, right in the middle of little Italy , excellent spot to people watch!!

Tell Joey outside that the girls from Indy say hi. There are great lunch specials and drinks too....

Walking thru area wanted small bite of pizza. I had beet salad and shared small pizza with daughter. Very good!

Unimpressive is maybe generous: 1. The service was slow and at no point did anyone check if the food was ok. 2. It took 20 minutes and 3 requests before we got our bill. 3. There was a (live) mouse by our table. 4. Due to not having any cash we were forced to tip 20% on card which given the above was never going to happen.

Stopped in for a late lunch (around 3pm) after a long day of walking around. The atmosphere is great and Giovanni the host was fantastic. My wife and i split some wine and a Pizza Bianca, fresh brick oven pizza, fantastic crust and great toppings. Highly recommend it. The prices are reasonable and the service is great.

We had a lot of choices for restaurants in Little Italy and chose Il Piccolo Bufalo. Our order of Shrimp with Risotto was fine, but the Pizza Anna was served without the prosciutto. I could see the chef and he didn't appear surprised when I returned the pie to add the main topping. That seemed strange. Too, service seemed to be lacking. The place probably has good food, but things just didn't seem quite right. With all the choices in Little Italy, we'll try other restaurants.

I love this place. Great food, great drinks. Clean & beautiful inside. Very friendly & fun staff. Good place to stop for lunch or happy hour.

The Penne Telefono was delicious and the atmosphere is very fun! Joey was a fantastic host. Would recommend coming here when visiting Little Italy!

The food is decent enough here but the portions were on the small side for the prices they charge. The Eggplant Parmigiana consists of only a few small slices of eggplant and the side of spaghetti with tomato sauce was tiny, just a couple of tablespoons in size. At $16 a plate the value was not good. The Spaghetti Puttanesca although nicely prepared was served in a small bowl that was easily finished by my young dinning companion. At $11, with no expensive ingredients in the dish to speak of, I felt that the restaurant was being really stingy on the portion size. A couple of drinks, a small salad, and lunch with tax and tip came to $70. Not a meal for the value conscious or the hungry. Service was good.

We visited this restaurant twice whilst staying in New York as the food was so good and reasonably priced. I had pizza both times (different toppings each time) and my partner had pasta. Both were delicious and enjoyed with a very reasonably priced carafe of house red. On our second visit we had starters, mains and a carafe of wine and the bill was amazing value for NY at $80. The owner is a character and the waitresses are lovely.

Great little restaurant with attentive staff and GREAT pizza. A must-visit when in NYC. We will be back!

I have to be clear on one thing, we visited this restaurant twice. First time, was a very good experience, the other one not. I will review them both here. First time, we just stopped by for a drink on a sunday. Little Italy is a very cozy place, but we learn that its in the weekends when they close the street for traffic. The guy working at the door on our first visit, was a real star! Charming and full of spirit and humour, and he was so entertaining to watch. Him and a friend even sing and play accordian for us, making us feel like Lady and the Tramp for a minute. Top score on that first visit! The second time, we went back cause of the amazingly good experience first time, and this time for lunch and a drink. The street was full of traffic, and the younger guy now working at the door, couldnt care less about what we actually was looking for. We move inside the restaurant, and ordered. The service was non-chalant and not very smiling and charming, already then a big dissapointment. We ordered Bruschetta, Bolognese and a pizza, and we wanted all to be served at once. The Bruschetta was good, but too much cheese meaning the fresh tomato flavour kind of drowned. The Bolognese... was not good. I could feel it had been warmed up from the day before, and the tomato flavor had more or less simmered away and it was a bit tasteless to be honest. The pizza got served about 15 minutes after the bruschetta and Bolognese.. and was a bit burnt, but still very good. All in all, we were not very happy with this visit. But the worst was yet to come.. because when we wanted to pay using credit card, the waitress said they had to charge double city tax cause for this, and we still had to pay 10 dollar tip in cash. Right.. when we visit a few days before, this was not a problem since i added the tip to my credit card bill. She really took for granted i was gonna give her 10 dollar tip, and said she could put all of that in my credit card. She was so greedy for the tip, it put me off completely, and made me angry. No matter where in the world i go, tip is for gratuity - meaning i will gladly pay it if im happy. This time, i was not. So i paid my bill on the exact amount, and tipped her 9 dollar which i thought was too much, but thats what i had in cash. All of this greedy tipping culture, that i feel is a becoming a problem for New York City, totally ruinied this visit and made me annoyed. Too bad for this restaurant, that it depends so much who is working the day you visit. Thats why my overall score is poor for this one. The only upside was the guy at the door on our first visit.

This is my 6th visit to Piccolo Bufalo! The waitresses are awesome! Very helpful and are long time employees which says a lot. Small place but lots of ambiance. Enjoy the pasta and the apps but the pizza and calzones are awesome. Always refer friends here too.

Can't vouch for authenticity, but it was delicious. Staff was very friendly, and aside from a couple to-go orders, we had the whole place to ourselves for about an hour.

Of the evening meals we had in NYC this restaurant in Little Italy was the best value. The wine was also cheaper than elsewhere and my wife and I enjoyed a large carafe. The pizza I ordered and the pasta meals the rest of the family had were excellent. Service was also friendly and we chatted for a while outside with one young member of staff while waiting for a table. The restaurant had a lively vibe with lots of students visiting that added to the atmosphere so probably not so much for a romantic meal if that was typical. A good find.
Great Lunch!
Had a amazing time here having pizza and was amazing service and food!! Also we met Kevin heart in here and got a selfie with him! Amazing x
