This was our first time here and it was exceptional. WE were welcomed as old friends. The table service was first rate. Ray was personable and interactive. Caesar salad made table side and the chicken parm were the best we have ever had. Expensive but worth the money. We will be back .

The NYC, Midtown East locals love Il Tinello - East Side We all know the owner Benny and he makes sure EVERY guest feels like an old friend Service is impeccable Food is finest Italian with amazing table side presentations Best fish in NYC

This was our second dinner at Il Tinello within two weeks, last time a party of 7 and this time a party of 4. From the moment you walk in the owner, Benny, is there to greet you warmly. He immediately remembered us and where we had been sitting last time! The staff, from the hostess to the servers and busboys are super attentive, but never overbearing. They make us feel both times like close friends who had come for a holiday dinner. The ambience is lovey and intimate, and you can converse easily without competing with noise, as happens in so many other restaurants. All of this would be a "nice to have" if the food didn't deliver. But it does! Everything we had was delicious, including the bruschetta they bring at the start, with a great zing of garlic between the chopped tomato and the toast, and a plate of delicious sauteed mushrooms and spicy sauteed peppers. Standouts were the Uncle Bob's calamari and gorgonzola-stuffed fig appetizers, the scallops, which were among the most perfectly prepared we've ever had, the lump crab with capellini and tomato sauce, and the pollo sorrentino. The ricotta cheesecake dessert was also wonderful. the wine list is delightful- we had a delicious Amerone Valpolicella. This east side version of the west side restaurant is relatively new. It's worth a special trip (we came in from Westchester!)

IL TINELLO EAST is a classic midtown Manhattan Ristorante with a retro vibe. Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack would love this hidden treasure. Upon arriving, we immediately received a warm welcome from the owner, Benny, and hostess, Denetria. While listening to soft standards music in the background, we enjoyed a well-crafted martini and a lovely Prosecco poured by Miss Mixologist, Arta. We recommend guests stop by the cozy bar for a leisurely cocktail before dinner and or a dessert after dining. Flaming Bananas Foster with strawberries tuck in if it's your choice, is served tableside. Benny really delivered this show-stopping dessert. The lasagna (when available) and shrimp scampi was full of favor ... noodles were the perfect texture. A pleasant culinary experience. They offered a complimentary cordial, Grappa, after our dining experience. That makes the Ristorante extra special besides the congenial and efficient wait-staff. Don't miss the authentic Italiano cuisine professionally provided by IL Tinello East. Buon Appetito! We'll joyfully return to our new Italiano Famiglia in September 2024. "Mama Bear" and Reggie. Three Visits in October 2023

10/10 experience in every way. From the moment we arrived, Benny and his team rolled out the red carpet and made us feel like family. The food was spectacular, authentic Italian dishes with unforgettable flavor, and the service was flawless. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and alive with true New York charm. Dining here isn’t just a meal, it’s a memory. If you’re in Midtown, do yourself a favor and book a table at Il Tinello, you’ll be raving about it long after.

This is an exceptional restaurant that offers a wonderful fine dining experience! As soon as one walks in, you are greeted by Benny the most gracious owner. We had excellent cocktails as we relaxed. Ray has waited on us four times and he is such a professional at his job. Every thing I have ever eaten here has been delicious. They outdid themselves with the Soft-shell crab specia! I was so thrilled to have a chance to order them as I never see them on Florida menus. They were just outstanding!!!!! What a special place!

Below expectations as starters are very basics and main courses not exceoptionnal Good service Wine below expectation comparing price

If we are visiting the City we are eating here! From the moment we walk in we are treated like the loyal guests we are. Once again Ray and his staff took a fabulous job watching over us. The professional experience is carried out here to the highest level. Everything is wonderful!

This relatively new Eastside off-shot of the West location is a great for anyone looking for a nice place, with an intimate feel, fast and attentive service near the Eastside. I started my meal with the calamari, which was delicious and generous enough to share with the table. I had the crab capenilli for dinner and again they didn't scrimp on the portions of either the pasta or crab. The table shared some classic Italian desserts like limoncello cake, tartofo, and house-made tiramisu, all very good. I would go back.

We went here as it was a recommendation from a local barman. First off the food and wine were excellent, probably the best carbonara I've ever had. The guy who welcomed us in off the street was lovely and welcoming, but the serving staff all seemed to resent us being there, I asked which beers were available and a laminated list of drinks was dropped on the table, basically no beer. I then enquired about a wine list and if you could purchase by the glass, a list of wines was then recited a sush a pace I couldn't make it out. Only at the second attempt I made out the cabernet, which was lovely. Whilst tucking in to our pasta, we noticed a waiter topping up other tables water, from a carafe, as tourists this option wasn't offered. Only sparkling or still , 12 dollars for a bottle of water, ouch. On a different day this may have been 5 out of 5, but the interaction with staff once in, was too uncomfortable and awkward, pity, because the food was great.

This restaurant is down the street from our friend’s apartment and our go to restaurant when we get together. The food is always delicious from the table side Cesar Salad (very good), all the pasta, chicken, veal and fish dishes. We’ve loved everything we’ve ordered. Portions are large and beautifully prepared. Excellent wine list too. What stands out even more than the food (if that’s possible) is the excellent service like the way it used to be in the old days but without feeling stuffy. We are always greeted happily with a smile as if we dined at the restaurant daily. All the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and also very good at what they do and happy to help you have a good time!

Dinner was amazing. Solid, classic Italian. So tasty and excellent service. The Manhattan was a generous pour, received a comp appetizer and grappa after dinner. Even though I was alone and they were fully booked they squeezed me in and made me feel like a VIP. I’ll be back!

Location close to the United Nations and many permanent missions. The restaurant is quiet, quiet. And the Service of excellent quality, as often outside Europe, the food is good without being exceptional. A great experience for a quick lunch — the Service is really effective.

Two weeks ago, I thought I had found the best meal and service of my life at Bazaar Meat in Vegas. But then Il Tinello proved me wrong. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Benny and the entire team went above and beyond to take incredible care of us, making this my new favorite restaurant.
Good atmosphere- awful food
The atmosphere was great. It’s a busy place but staff are attentive. We both ordered pasta - one meat based, one seafood. Both were tasteless. Hardly edible would be a good description. The desserts however were good. We paid $230 including 2 drinks each and would have been better off in McDonald’s.
