Indian Food - Late Night - well located - good portion size - Cozy

By LightThoseBridges |

After spending the whole day walking, exploring the city on foot with a little kid, this restaurant seemed like our last wish for the day was granted. At walking distance from Times Square and open post 10PM - lovely combination. We ordered dal makhni and Garlic naan. Good portion size and great taste. The staff was enthusiastic and ambience was cozy.

High end Indian food in a good location

Near Times Square you expect a tourist trap - we were surprised at the quality of the food which was at par to some excellent Indian restaurants we have been to. The service was very good. Bottom line - we plan to go back

Rude and disrespectful

By Nisha N |

Extremely rude, arrogant owner. Being an indian, doesnt have manners to treat Indian Customers. Please dont visit, there are better places around which have amazing hospitality and food!

A little relaxation

By Giulia G |

Excellent food, delicate and not heavy. Just outside the chaos of Time Square. Quiet and relaxing environment, varied menu

Would rather choose a different restaurant next time

Chose this restaurant as it was close to my hotel. After a day of a very long walk I wanted to treat myself to a good Indian dinner and a glass of wine. First disappointment was that they don´t sell wine. Ok, not so big, but my next disappointment was the dinner, the Chicken Tikka Masala (I think I had, and has always been a safe choose so far), was a disappointment, too much bones with the meat, too little meat on the bones, but the sauce was tasty....could have had a stronger taste. The garlic Nan was dull, white bread with a lot of fine chopped garlic on top. Unfortunately the taste of the garlic did not combine the bread, so it was more like white bread topped with chopped garlic. Overall I left unsatisfied, leaving the staff still chatting in one of the corner, and would rather walk few more steps, next time, in order to get better dinner and service.

BEST Indian food in the heart of NYC

By Shivika Pratap |

Absolutely palatable goat biryani and chicken curry. The spices and flavours of India found no where but in India at Times Square. And so convenient. Like 2 mins walk from Times Square. I was starving and delighted I dined here. Good thing they got parking so it was easy to go with family. Highly recommend for dinner and drinks.

The ambiance is charming, with tasteful decor and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The service was exemplary—attentive without being intrusive. The food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented.

Great food, not so great service

By Jimmy T |

Had the lamb kahari, goat saag, and garlic naan. All food very flavorful! Not much goat as most was gristle or bone. Service slow and bordering on rude. Automatic 18% gratuity on all bills no matter party size.

Amazing Indian Experience @ Times Square

By Jitendra M |

Very limited options for fine dining in the Times Square- Theatre District. Welcome to 'India@TimesSquare', brought by people with deep experience in Indian cuisine/Fine Dining. 44th Street b/ween 8th and 9th Ave at Street Level with nice open view, adjacent to a convenient Parking Facility, worth a stop for Lunch/Buffet Lunch/ Dinner. We were floored by the Yellow Dal and very quick service

Absolute rip off, average curry, prices not as shown on website

By AIRPORT OPS |

Visiting NYC with friends and all of us liking Indian cuisine we found this resturant online which was close to our hotel. The prices and recent reviews looked good so we went for dinner. We were greeted by a suited gentleman who we took to be the Maître d' or owner. As our friends were not very hungry we ordered one Shrimp Pakorer to share as a starter ($12.95 on the website) a Chicken Madras ($18.95 on the website) Shrimp Madras ($18.95 on website), Chicken Karahi ($18.95 on website together with three Pillau Rices and a Garlic Naan ($5.95 on the website). We took it for granted that, in common with all Indian Restaurants that we had ever dined at, that rice is a separate order with a curry. It turned out that that was not the case, albeit when taking the order the waiter did not point this out (nor was it indicated on the website). Service very slow, 40+ minutes from placing order to it arriving at table. No problem with the appetizer, but when the main courses arrived my Chicken Madras had a yellow in colour sauce and tasted of coconut - not Madras but Korma. This was pointed out, the waiter checked with the kitchen and subsequently insisted that it was Madras. As there was no difference in price and not wishing to dine alone due to a delay with any replacement, I decided to eat. It was at this time, seeing that there was a problem at our table, the Maître d' or owner disappeared! The currys were of average quality, nothing exceptional. When it came to paying the bill I again expressed my concern over the incorrect curry and the fact that it was never pointed out that each curry came with an order of rice. With still no sign ot the Maître d' or owner negotiations continued with the waiter who took our order. He offered to take my curry off the bill together with one order of Pillau Rice. For one Shrimp Pakora appetizer, one Garlic Naan, one each Chicken Korma/Shrimp Madras/Chicken Karahi with two Pillau Rices and four glasses of water (no wine/beer/liquor as restuarant does not have a liquor licence) the bill came to $123.00! Prices shown on the website are not those actually charged in the restaurant.

Excellent tasting Indian food!

We loved our dinner here. Quick service. Place was clean and spotless. We enjoyed butter naan, curry, tandoori chicken, and chicken soup. A couple of the dishes were a bit spicier than we were expecting. Would happily return. Even those in our group that don’t normally like Indian food loved this place.

Possible the worst indian food in New York

By cogniant |

Makes Indian food look bad. Horrible Tandoori Chicken, worst saag paneer and horrible vegetables. The only saving grace was the garlic naan and roti. Food needs to be made with love, heritage and ethics. This was the worst of the worst indian place in New York. Will Never go again. Went after a show with my a friend and disposed every dish we got. Returned 3/4 things. Surprised the place survived in New York.

As good as any Indian I've had anywhere

By DCLDad |

Went here this week for the first time, and was very happy with the menu, and the food was excellent. The restaurant had been closed through much of the pandemic, so I was pleased to see it was open.

Average restaurant

By GP |

We ordered our dinner (2 persons) but got just 1 dinner. After 20 minutes we got the second dinner (after asking for it). My husband got his beverage, but they forgot mine. The food however, was good. But it is strange for us to pay for sidedishes like rice. So: good food, service not so good and pretty expensive.

Food was good, but waitress so unkind that it was just rude. Also it wasn't busy at all what already should have been our signal.

EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC INDIAN CUISINE, FRIENDLY SERVICE

By Alexander M |

"India At Timesquare" is a brand new Indian Restaurant with authentic Indian cuisine and it is a welcome addition to the theatre district. "India At Timesquare" is a perfect location for theatre goers, located diagonally across the street from "Birdland" on West 44th Street: and conveniently next door to a public parking garage. The food is delicious and you couldn't ask for better or more friendly service. The Goa Special Fish Curry is absolutely wonderful and the Emperor Jahingir's Malai Chicken (an appetizer) is succulent and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended.

A Gracious Bit of India

By Kitty272727 |

We have been here more than once. At first we liked it but found the buffet lunch price rather steep. Now it has been reduced to $17.95 per person, not a bargain but worth it. The offerings are spare for a buffet. However, each dish was excellent: biryani, saag paneer with ginger, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, pakoras, a few condiments, naan, and a dessert of carrots and raisins. Inexplicably cold crinkle-cut French fries also appeared. The service was efficient and friendly. The room is spacious and elegant.

Second visit & counting

By nehasri1010 |

This was our second visit to the restaurant . We didnt expect such Fanstastic & Awesome customer service second time too. Food was delicious again & that was the reason why we decided to go back to the restaurant for dinner. Norbu was an excellent & well behaved staff . On mentioning that we were served pani puri complimentory on our first visit , he made sure to serve us again. This gesture truely made our day . A great workforce makes an excellent organisation & hospitality industry needs it the most . You guys have proved it again & again . Thankyou so much for the wonderful time we had at your place.

2nd Visit Very Rude

By VN 720 |

We being Indians wanted to have the Indian chai. They refused saying that they won't serve only tea, whereas we had dinner one day earlier that was not the case. They seem to be very money minded inspite of having almost entire restuarant empty they dint want to serve tea. Americans know what hospitality is. You guys should learn from them.

Nice Food

By V_PAT |

Visited this restaurant after watching a theatre show. The restaurant vibe is ok, very close to the Intercontinental Hotel. The menu is on an iPad. Food was ok, especially for vegetarians, got fed up eating pizza etc. It is expensive for the amount we ordered, service charge is included, but most restaurants near Times Square or central Manhattan is going to be expensive.

Theatre District Indian

Popped in after a Saturday matinee. The restaurant is located on a quiet block of West 44th St. Great selection of dishes - selected the delicious lamb madras. Will definitely keep this in mind when I'm in the mood for Indian food!

A wonderful experience

Amazing food and friendly people

By Deepak Sharma |

I visited this amazing restaurant with my mom and wife, we were greeted by the couple who are the owners of this restaurant. They gave us a very warm welcome and made us sit comfortably, Pratima took our order and recommended dishes and everything was just perfect. After we had our dinner the owner of the restaurant came to our table and spoke with us, we felt at home. Whenever I visit New York Times Square, I will surely have my meals here. Must visit Indian restaurant for every Indian food lover.

Hidden Gem in Theatre District!!

By Valerie K |

The place is an oasis of calm in this crazy midtown theater district, beautifully decorated and not over-crowded. If you go with the prix-fixe for $35, you get soup, TWO appetizers, TWO entrees, daal, rice and naan AND dessert - this is for ONE person! The food was fantastic - but better than that, we were treated like Indian royalty by the staff - Our host Mohan was charming and solicitous and bent over backwards to accommodate my vegan companion. The entire experience was a delight - can't sing their praises loud enough!!

Must visit place .

Delicious food, beautiful ambience, great service!

By JHA79 |

The food was delicious! The serving size was quite generous. We had papdi chaat, butter chicken, chicken korma, garlic naan and rice. All dishes were good and had the perfect balance of all spices. Our favorite was the korma and honestly, every item was delectable. The garlic naan was one of the best we have had!! The service was good, the host checked on us from time to time. They had iPads to order from, but I am sure they would offer paper menu if someone asked for it. The plates, silverware and glasses were extremely clean. The restaurant has an beautiful and calming ambience. It is centrally located and has a lovely exterior. The interiors are lush and the lighting is perfect- not too dim , not too bright. The music was kept at a level that made conversation possible. The choice of music could have been better :) The restrooms and the entire place was very clean. My kids loved the sign on the restroom! We will definitely be coming again next time we are in NYC.
