Today was a gala day. With a friend visiting from the West Coast who wanted to eat at not one but three Indian restaurants how could I not agree to break bread with her? This was Shobha’s first time eating here. I had eaten here at least four times. We both had the three course tasting menu for $56. An amuse of tiny blue cheese naans accompanied by a coconut and pumpkin shorba was given. The naan was tender, chewy and sharp in flavor. Both of us had the Sweet Pickle Pork Ribs which Pete Wells, former New York Times food critic, wrote that this dish could not be removed from the menu. Shobha ordered the Tandoori Lamb Chops, Black Dal and Kashmiri Morel Pullao. She had ordered a kulcha which was not given sonthe rice was perfect with the dal. Chicken Tikka Meatballs with my favorite garlic nan were my choices. We shared some of the dishes and enjoyed the cuisine. The dessert of Makhan Malai, Saffron Milk and Rose Petals resembled a fluff of air. Similar to a soufflé, this was both creamy, light and perfect as we both were feeling rather stuffed. Service was unobtrusive and professional.

This was late Saturday afternoon . The food was very good . The manager and or owner came by. I've had Indian food many times and this was some of the best .

I had the vegetarian tasting menu with the wine pairings, which at ~$100 was 1/3rd what I would have paid in US for similar quality. I was a little nervous about wines with Indian food, but the pairing worked out very well. All of the dishes were a feast for the eyes and the stomach. It's a lot more than most other Indian restaurants in Delhi, but worth it.

food is really flavored filled , drink menu was decent, cocktail and mocktail list is unique , good for dinner.

Outstanding experience. The food and service were both absolutely amazing. There was a point when we even got part if the order wrong, but we were overall so satisfied with everything, we didn’t have the heart to tell them they had messed in a small way. Pricey for sure, but it was a 5 star experience.

We didn’t have a Saturday night reservation, so we were seated at the bar. The bartenders and waitstaff were well informed and attentive. Every dish could be explained in detail, if needed. The ribs were excellent. The dumplings were served in a delicious broth. The potato sphere chaat was unusual and extraordinary. The duck kurcha was very good. The main dish tawa paneer khurchan served in small thin pancakes with a variety of sauces was also great. We had the two ice cream desserts which were terrific. I expected to drink Indian beer, but it wasn’t on the menu so a local India Pale ale turned out to be a good choice. Looking forward to another visit and sampling of other new foods exquisitely presented.

After a tiring day in NY, booked a table for myself at the Indian accent. In love with the food and the service. Bond to come back again.

Was excited to try this place out. I had the chef's tasting menu. Some of the dishes were ok, but most were not good. Not necessarily bad, just expected better. The modern Indian cuisine has been done much earlier and much better by Rasika in DC. This is not a close comparison. By the last few dishes, I wanted it to be over. Then I went and had some more satisfying Indian fare from a nearby spot.

Booked for pre-theater dinner and as a result were first to arrive for the evening dinner service. We were seated at a booth and the tables soon started filling around us. Our waiter had impeccable knowledge of the menu from the cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and the food. We selected the $60 2 course menu and had difficulty choosing as everything sounded delicious and it was just simply wonderful. I had the scallops for main and my husband the roast ghee lamb. We added the treacle tart for dessert and this was an inventive take that reminded us of home (we're originally from UK!) When we left our coats were brought to the door without asking - a testament to the observant yet unobtrusive service. I would highly recommend and look forward to going back too.

Amazing Indian restaurant. Unusual dishes and twist on traditional Indian cuisine. Excellent presentation of dishes.

Great service, atmosphere and excellent food. Very attentive staff Need more help with menu descriptions as unfamiliar with Indian words Lamb Veda starter described as kebab but it was pulled lamb deep fried in light batter. Still it was excellent!

We came here for dinner and ordered the 3-course meal. The seafood items were better. The rest were best described as “ fusion gone bad”. We enjoy visiting tasting-menu restaurants and don’t mind the high price when the dishes are creative and delicious. But dinner here had us missed the down-to-earth Chinese and Indian restaurants nearby that charges 1/10 the price.

We had the Sunday brunch feast and it was a delightful experience. The term ‘feast’ was very appropriate, because you get a huge amount of food, in three servings. The first contains what one may call starters (smaller dishes), the second several larger courses and the third two desserts. Apparently, you can ask for a second helping of any of the dishes, but this should be done carefully as there is really a lot to eat. There is no doubt they go beyond traditional Indian food, but the creativeness is expressed in a very different way than say at Gaggan in Bangkok. It is not about molecular surprises, but something that is actually more subtle and, in the end, more pleasurable. Probably the best Indian restaurant I have tried.

The ambiance in the restaurant is great. The service was ok in general, but certainly lacking considering the price tag and reputation. We were seated for a good 20 minutes before someone even brought us a menu- and we had a 5:30 pm on a weekday reservation so the restaurant was far from full. I got the green chili sour drink, and it was good but tasted like an ordinary margarita. The food is where it gets tricky. While all of our food tasted fine (I ordered vegetarian items and my husband ordered beef/seafood), it wasn't by any means great or anything to warrant a rave review. But what's even more disconcerting is how quickly the food came out (food was out within 5 mins of ordering after waiting for a long time for drinks/a menu), AND that the food itself was barely warm. We sort of got it- its a 3 or 4 course prix fix so the smaller menu makes it likely everything is premade- but seriously, to make it so obvious that literally it is impossible that anything we were served could have been freshly prepared??? I cook a lot of Indian food so I know this for a fact. Making our experience at this restaurant totally out of sync with a $400 meal. Our local casual quick eat Indian restaurant in the area takes longer to prepare the food and that food beats the food at this restaurant. In summary, the food and service were ok, but definitely not worth it. There are far better, less and more expensive, options for Indian food in NYC.

While in Delhi last November with my son, we went to Indian Accent restaurant there. It was so good that my wife and I had dinner at their restaurant in New York, last week. I cannot choose between them as to which was better. Both were absolutely excellent. Of course, you have to like Indian food. But everything served to us in New York was subtle and delicious. From the amuse bouche of a tiny amount of soup - can I have a bowl, please? - to the ghee roast lamb, every mouthful was superb. And, to make the dining experience complete, our waiter, Braden, was all that a waiter can be. Informative and excellent company. The only concern that I have is whether it can possibly be as good the next time we go to New York.

Fabulous. We attended for the evening of my wife’s birthday and enjoyed the chefs tasting menu. We would fully recommend this due to the variety of food and clear pride and delight in the presentation and delivery from the staff . Everyone seemed to really take pride in the service and food that was offered and we felt like VIP guests from the get go. All serving staff were attentive and knowledgable and we felt special the whole time we were there. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed the whole experience from the food to the service and beyond. Thank you for the candle on my wife’s dessert it was a small gesture which was appreciated and was a great unexpected treat .

We had reservations and did want the large 3 course prix fixe dinner. The manager explained that the prix fixe was mandatory in the dining room and a La carte was only available in the bar. “Fine” we said, but there were no seats at the bar. There are probably at least 10 small tables in the bar area and only one was occupied. “Those are not available for a La carte” we were told, in an arrogant manner. We’ve eaten there several times and very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. But the way we were treated this time has soured us on this restaurant. There are too many wonderful restaurants near Carnegie Hall to risk being treated as we were with arrogance and indifference.

Love love love it. Great Indian, with a small twist that they successfully added ! Sometimes dishes can be slightly too spicy, make sure to ask for the food the way you like it.

Challenge your palette and go to Indian Accent! This is a haute cuisine version of food you might taste while visiting India. The chef takes street foods like Pani Puri and Aloo TikkiChaat to exceptional levels of flavor and presentation and it’s clear all offers are well tested and thought out. Every course of the chefs tasting menu is a delight. The menu is a lot but a really fun way to dine so go and just let your waiter take care of you. It will be excellent and memorable.

From being greeted at the door to leaving the staff were exceptional the timing of the food was first class , I was served by 4 different waiters and everyone was great . The menu was a bit different to what I’d get in the UK the waiters helped me select the 4 dishes I picked .this was by far the best Indian food I’ve tasted. The bill was a bit expensive but eating out in a good restaurant in New York isn’t cheap

Went with 2 friends. Upon arrival, we waited for our table. Multiple tables available and they give us the one by the door- literally the door! Delayed and slow service. Food was great for certain dishes and rest were OK. Great presentation for everything. I am not trying to bash the place, but really didn't feel the overall hype. Tamarind Tribeca is way better than this place. Not sure if I will go back.

Loved our meal and ambience. Service was professional. All special requests made were listened to It’s a different kind of restaurant with Anu usual concept.

An exquisite dinner for two. We had the pork rib appetizer; sea bass, lamb ribs and pea and potato kofta as main courses. Side dishes were pomegranate and avocado raita and duck kulcha. Everything was excellent. The sea bass was prepared perfectly. Our server made helpful suggestions at our request and the waitstaff was attentive and friendly.

Midtown pre theater is usually totally forgettable, but what a find! Superb service, terrific and creative cuisine and a dessert that was not too sweet. I don't leave a whole lot of effusive reviews, but this one deserves every accolade I can give. We were going to a show at 7 pm and had dinner at 5 pm keeping in mind that they are 10 blocks from the Broadway scene. They got us out in plenty of time and we comfortably walked getting to our show with time to spare. Highly recommend.

tasty options including vegetarian, great service, nice atmosphere. everyone gets an accompaniment with their main course which is like a bread or starch of some type. if you get the 3 course then 3 from any category (except only 1 main), likewise for 4 course. if you're celebrating a bday, no need to order another dessert ;-)

Third time to New York City in the last six months; third visit to Indian Accent; third great meal. Will be back. I eat in some of the world’s best restaurants and this have made it onto my very short list of “must repeat”. If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you should. Absolutely superb.

Great variety to try via the coursed menus. Excellent cocktails. Three of us chose the course menu plus an additional side. 12 different plates plus an amuse bouche in all. It was a lot of food. The appetizers were particularly interesting. Very little heat in the dishes, which was a bit disappointing. One dish seemed more like an interpretation of chicken and dumplings without a familiar reference to any Indian food we have ever had. It just seemed out of place. The description did not match the flavor. Overall excellent, flavorful and interesting food. Great service. Well timed. Look forward to going back. Worth a visit.

We chose Indian Accent for its proximity to all the action in mid town Manhattan. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The food was spectacular. We ordered Tasting menu The restaurant is gorgeous, the food presentation beautiful. Let's talk about service. Staff took care of everything without being intrusive. Every dish was explained, wine by the glass was offered to taste first, coats were taken without a claim check and redeemed without needing to ask. This is by far the best Indian food I've ever eaten in North America. Next trip to New York I know what my first stop will be. I have already quite a few of my Wall Street friends

Our first time here...amazing , innovative, incredibly creative with impeccable service ...perfect pacing with a som who was spot on. No better combination can be imagined . Our palates are still happy and we will remember this special place for the long haul. Atmosphere lively yet private. Thank you.

So good food I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Good service and all. Will definitely go back if ever I have the chance.

One of my favorite Indian restaurants in NYC. I've been to the one in New Delhi, India as well and find that Chef Manish Mehrotra has done an amazing job with this progressive Indian menu. Definitely a great place for a special occasion dinner. The service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. @traveleen_gurl

Indian accent really puts the Indian original twist to dishes that are presented and served in the western style: the menu has starters mains and side dishes, servings per one person. Everything is delicious and truly made with Indian spices and taste. Wine and tea list is ok. Service is great. I have tried all three locations (new Delhi the best) and they are all up to expectations. I confess that the first impression here was not so good because we booked at 19.45, arrived 10 minutes before, and the table was not ready till 20.00, and nobody really cared and excused itself. A bit upset of the treatment I asked the manager to at least while standing up and waiting he didn’t feel he should offer us a drink... he did, a flute of Champagne. And than on everything went very smooth. A perfect restaurant would have had the guest ask for it... but it’s ok.

We went with our infant grand daughter. The policy of not allowing stroller inside is little let down for us. We had to wake up our sleeping baby to take her inside. Some compromise there. Our mistke we did not check the policy before booking. The serhice otherwise is good. The three cocktails are great with Bourbon , Tequila n Vodka. The food is great. 1.dry fenugreek papdi chaat 2.wasabi and yogurt batata puri 3.crab chili cheese toast, summer cucumber pickle, tamarind ketchup 4.parsi “salli per eedu,” fried egg, crispy potatoes, chu 5.spinach kofta, peas salan 6.salmon, dill, chutney potatoes 7.chicken malai tikka, green chili cream, sugar snap peas, summer truffle 8.fava bean pulao 9. Kulchas Is what we could order. Baby idlis not being available is small let down. Overall experince is great as our grand daughter also cooperated by being active and playful. The best dish is the chicken dish.

We went here for brunch with extended family. My husband had been to the Indian Accent in Delhi and had loved it and we have been planning on visiting here as a family for sometime. The ambience is understated and modern. The seating is very plush and comfortable. We opted for the brunch feast and loved almost every dish we selected. Our adult and teen kids who don't really enjoy going out to eat Indian food could not believe it was Indian food. They do a great twist on Indian food and we enjoyed every minute of it. I'm not sure why there are negative reviews about the food. Would go here again without a thought.

This place truly is an experience! Beautiful setting, amazing service and the most delicious, innovative Indian food. Chef takes his menu from all over India. My husband and I both ordered different items so we could try more things. Not a bad one in the bunch. Honestly, the best Indian food we have ever eaten. Worth the splurge for sure!!!

The food is terrific. Service terrific. Crowded for lunch, but not loud. Not cheap, but well worth the price.

Could be that memories tend to fade, but this time we didn’t enjoy as much: service was as usual very professional and punctual. We chose the 3 choices menu and the 3 potato sphere Chaat where cold, ici cold. The mutton quite good. Than we had the smoked eggplant (nice but again to cold, while the shrimps where ok. Lastly I had a very delicious lamb. Honestly tough the past experiences where much better.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here at the bar, thanks to two of the bartenders- Javier and Manny. They were very attentive despite being very busy. Not only the service but the food was impeccable too. We ordered Dall and rice, along with tofu with shisheito peppers and green pea kofta curry. We will be back next time we visit NY City.

Beyond incredible experience and amazing service and show by General Manager Richard LUKOMSKI. Impeccable service and menu knowledge was far beyond expectations. It was great to hear the stories behind all the dishes in such intimate detail. Would highly recommend and will be coming back again and again.

I have written about Indian Accent in New Delhi, India but I believe the one in Delhi has gone down, I was there in May but this place in nyc rocks. Everything great. Food, service and ambiance.

... this restaurant is rated so highly in New York City. From beginning to end, this is a five-star experience. Beautifully decorated, very quiet for conversation, just the perfect ambience. The food is an equal match. We are not frequent fliers when it comes to Indian food but this menu had the rare combination of being easy to follow and authentic. The pickled pork ribs were the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life. We will go back and bring a village with us.

Families are not welcome. Well this is what front of desk told us. “the chef does not like children” First time in the world I have heard this. Wish I could have recorded it.

I could write a paragraph about every dish we had, and each would get glowing reviews, but then this review would exceed my objective. I’ll cut to the chase: nice clean, charming place. Absolutely exceptional, friendly staff. I think they even get the chefs to deliver and present their dishes (for motivation?). Each dish was interesting, intricate, with multiple textures and colours, spices. Every one absolutely delicious. I’ll use the dish recommendation to list the ones we had, but based on our experience you could pick anything on this menu and be blown away. Oh, and we got complimentary, amazing soup shots and blue cheese stuffed naan bite sized pockets. True fine dining, without a hint of pretence. If you’re in midtown, go. You cannot regret.

Three of us had dinner here before catching Springsteen on Broadway. The service was attentive, the atmosphere comfortable, quiet and elegant, but everything else was overshadowed by the food. I love Indian food, though I'm no expert, so we try to sample Indian restaurants wherever we travel. The meal at Indian Accent was the best Indian we've ever had, and quite possibly the best meal period. I've recommended it to family and friends and can't wait to hear about their experiences.

If you are vegetarian don’t bother going to this place. We were seated close to the entrance and every time the door opened there was a draft of cold air.

are all the positive reactions from visitors before us. This not just an Indian restaurant, where one can choose between a number of main dishes like beef, lamb, chicken and some selections of fish and then decide, whether you like it spicy or more European oriented. No, here you get a good explanation of what you may expect and the choice between vindaloo and massala doesn't have to be made at all. The cook is an artist, who knows how to play with the many herbs and typical Indian smells from his native country. Everything, he offers you is a new phenomenal experience. He is like a conductor of a large symphony orchestra, who knows, himself, all the finesses of each instrument. I can onle recommend to follow the suggestions by the very knowledgeable and engaged staff and enjoy the surprises you will be seduced with. One of the very best restaurants in my life..!!

Fantastic food and service. The tasting menu was truly amazing and highly recommendable. Wine pairing was also good and had a few highlights that I did not see coming.

Went early (5PM) giving us plenty of time for our group to make theater. The service and food were outstanding. Food dishes were unique and tasty. Specialty drinks were great. Dessert was superb. Various treats and palate cleansers were delightful additions to the meal.. This should be on your list of NYC restaurants to try.

We were excited to try Indian Accent in New York based on the wonderful dining experience we had a year ago at its sister restaurant in New Delhi. We selected the chef’s tasting menu in both cases, but unlike our experience in New Delhi where the courses were inventive and full of vibrant flavors, we found the food at the New York restaurant to be uninspired and bland. Both Indian Accent restaurants offer a fusion cuisine and thus do not have the type of menu common in Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, the courses on offer for the tasting menu in New York were largely devoid of the flavors one would expect from Indian cuisine. For example, the chicken malai tikka consisted of ground chicken meat balls in a tasteless white sauce. The only dish we really enjoyed and found flavorful was the potato sphere chaat. Overall, this was a disappointing dining experience.

Expensive fixed price menu. I love Indian food, but this was not what you would expect - very unusual 'updated' fusion. Food was different, but service was painfully slow. Had a 5pm reservation, but had to wait at the bar to be seated even though the restaurant was empty at the time because they weren't ready. Although there were well over a dozen waiters, I could not get anyone's attention. I had to ask twice for my check which took about a half hour to finally get. It was like watching the 3 Stooges but multiplied by 5. Allowed myself plenty of time to get to the theater, but almost arrived late for the show because of their poor service.

Craving for some flavorful spicy Indian food and this was a disappointment. Indian food I knew is all about flavors and this was more about plating and was pretentious. The temperature, texture and the overall palate was lacking. This was below expectations.

Such an interesting and delicious menu! Everything is fresh and delightful. Enjoyed recently with family at lunch. Service and food were spectacular.

To begin I just want to say that they have great food. I went to Indian accent with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. Now the problem part 1. We ordered vegetarian but were served scallops as one of the dish. This is really unfortunate and not acceptable from a restaurant like yours 2. I was given a bill from the wrong table. So people visiting make sure you check the bill before paying.

We stumbled on this place after walking around Mid-town. They have a prix-fixe menu or you can order ala cart from the bar. We chose the bar since my daughter had a late lunch and wasn’t very hungry. The bartender, David, was amazing. He not only made drink recommendations; he wanted to be sure patrons loved their choice, he made food suggestions that were spot on. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Everything was Excellent from food to service , everything… I had a great server couldn’t remember the name but two african american girls one of them was a back waiter . They were top notch wiping my table after every course, water refilling without me pouring by myself. Just remember you cannot order a la carte but its 3-4 course menu but you have a great choices even if you are vegetarian or nv person. Food came out on time, din’t have to wait too long neither for drinks ! Amazing creativity on the food, very impressive !!

Nice, comfortable experience with very good food. We opted for the 4 course meal rather than the tasting menu. The flavors were delicious and the service excellent. The sipping soup was amazing. I’m not sure the 17$ cocktail was particularly special. My husband was “ underwhelmed” with his dessert which was the chocolate rum ball . Beyond that it was a nice meal and thoroughly enjoyed . A great experience

perfect palette in the west. had one of the most amazing indian twisted food. prepared with a lot of effort. would recommend to eat here for sure if u r craving indian food.

Elegant atmosphere, stellar service, inventive dishes bursting with flavor. Finally a truly upscale Indian restaurant in that neighborhood! We did the 3-course menu and because the food is so rich that was plenty for us (they serve amuse bouche and side dishes too) but next time we'll order dessert just out of curiosity since the rest of the meal was so superb. Don't miss the salmon or the asparagus!

The food and service were fantastic. It's so nice to find an Indian restaurant where you have no idea what's going to be on the menu and even when you read the menu, there are plenty of surprises

I was lucky enough to visit Indian Accent and experience the tasting menu. It was just the best food I have ever tasted and if anyone is in NY I would urge you to go and try. Staff are wonderful and a great ambiance Thank you! X

Having visited its sister & original restaurant in Delhi almost a year ago to the day, to say that we were excited about visiting would be an understatement and boy did it deliver....baby blue cheese naans to die for....smoked bacon kulcha amazing, sweet pickle ribs with just the right balance of melt in the mouth but retaining their meaty texture & the scallop & prawn malvani was almost fall off your chair good, servers were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful in equal measure.....really enjoyable experience!!

Indian Accent offers a different take on Indian cuisine. It is Indian with a modern approach and very good. I went there for lunch with two Indian colleagues whiclst in NYC on a business trip. We were all impressed. The lunch menu offers two courses for $35, not exactly cheap, especially as the portions are not that large. It was good for lunch and I'd be interested in visiting for dinner.

What an extraordinary experience! Wanted to try an upscale Indian restaurant while visiting NYC and feel so happy we found Indian Accent. We had one of the best meals of our lives and enjoyed impeccable service. We both chose the 3-course meal, but were thrilled to be brought warm pumpkin coconut shorba and bleu cheese naan bites before our meal even began. The shorba was amazing!! Also thoroughly enjoyed my Mughal Fortification cocktail — bourbon, saffron, toasted coriander, and Strega. What we ate (2 ppl) — Course 1: Beet and Peanut Butter Tiki and Potato Sphere Chaat (cold but delicious). Course 2: Smoked Eggplant Bharta (piped into cones) and Sweet Pickle Ribs. Course 3: Crispy Jackfruit Curry (fried balls) and Roast Lamb with Roti (miniature soft roti and 4 chutneys!) Everything was unique, delicious, and perfectly paced. Everyone we interacted with was just lovely. I will never go to NYC again without visiting this fantastic restaurant!

Actually my first Indian restaurant in NY - I travel to India a lot so normally don't bother out of India or London (where there are many 5 star Indian restaurants) - but Accent came highly recommended and number 34 restaurant in NY apparently. Well it is very good - service nice and spot on - everyone polite. Decor was a little sparse - maybe to match the modern cuisine but not too dark or light. But I wouldn't say it deserved Zagat runner up restaurant ... its very nice but not great. Worth a try is what I would say - not the same as its Delhi cousin.

Second time, we visited this restaurant..and again.amazing! Full house and good food and coctails. Good service and explanation of the typical food. Reservation is highly recommended, because they have double shifts and are very bussy

Rated 4 of 5 because the service was very good. The food was just ok. Love Indian food for it's amazing flavors, but at Indian Accent had a feeling that the chef missed a bit delivering a matching experience of execution and flavors. Appetizer (jackfruit pulkha) was nicely executed, pleasant to look at, but pretty bland. Crab claws had this a bit overburned garlic coating that killed the delicious taste of the crab meat, it was masking all other flavors. Chicken meatballs were perfectly executed, but again missed matching combination of spices/flavor. And the dessert was just pure mousse, it had a pleasant saffron flavor, but just a cup of mousse left a feeling that something is missing. Given how nice was the execution, I'm sure this place can do better...

We dined here yesterday evening after a matinee show of, "The Lion King." I know, it's a great show!!!!! You have to see it, but before you do that, let's get back to the review of Indian Accent shall we?! :) :) :) So, this was our first visit to this beautiful restaurant which is tucked away at 56th street in mid town Manhattan. It is part of the Parker Meridien hotel, but also has a seperate entrance for non hotel guests. The food here is absolutely fantastic. The ambience is enthralling and the service is impeccable. Our server was Chang and he made our dining experience truly lovely with his attentive sense of service and sincere hospitality! When in doubt on what to order....and you are lucky like us, to get Chang as your server...ask him for suggestions, he will not disappoint. Here's the bottomline...If you are truly looking for a unique experience, if you are looking for an elevated experience in a "fusion dining" and if $$$$ is not a factor, then the Indian Accent is your answer! This is not your tradional indian restaurant. It's an EXPERIENCE of fusion dining at a whole different level! And the only way to know what I am talking about is to....experience it yourself. See, I could work for their sales team, right? :) Alright with all levity aside, believe me, you will love this restaurant! And if you take my advice and dine here, then you have to try their unique and creative cocktails, especially, "Neer More." Trust me, you will thank me! :) Kudos to the Chef, the kitchen staff, the dining staff, especially a "big thank you" to Chang, the host and hostess and to the owner! You have a great thing going.....well done! God willing, we will return soon! Cheers!! Sai

We just loved Indian Accent!! The staff are so friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, making sure that we understood exactly what everything was and being thoroughly helpful with any dietary requirements. The decor is lovely and feels like you’re having a lovely treat. Then the food......every mouthful was sublime!! We had the 3 courses for $75, which I personally think was fantastic value, as it was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it. Would love to return!

Superb food and service from start to finish. Everything perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. You won't find a single dish that sounds familiar from your local Indian takeaway. We were delighted by this high-level, unique culinary experience!

I don’t eat Indian food very often, but I came here with a group of people that did. This restaurant was amazing! We had 4 courses that were delicious. The staff was extremely helpful and explained each course or dish that we were unsure of. Top notch service, fantastic Indian dishes, and I may now be a huge fan of Indian food!

Me & my husband had gone 4 days back on our last day of our stay. Manish mehrorta - You are just making fools of foreigners who dont know what Indian food is all about. We were hopeful that we will find great indian food. And had planned to invite our business friends for our next visit get together in April !!! But were totally disappointed !! Most of the North Indian food has been given south indian touch. Taste buds seemed confused. Scallops with rice was laced with chettinad sauce...giving a boring taste. Infact every 3rd dish has south indian sauces in it. Entree was some stupid mini kulcha in mozarella cheese. It choco blocks ur system...!! Even the Naans were soggy & limp. When we complained to the staff about food...one of their Chennai guy said all these foreigners here eat and is least bothered about indians...and he boasts he doesnt know Hindi only english ( 😂Lols ) God knows what hes doing in an Indian restaurant!!! He mimicked us behind their kitchen entry. Another guy a manager was bit better in listening to us. We had requested for a 3 course meal + Pellegrino. and they charged us around $230. Sorrrrry i wont recommend it to any indian travelling or staying there to taste this chaoctic con-fusion of food !!! My advice - STAY AWAY dude !!!!!!!!

We wrote a review criticizing a rude waiter; the general manager of the restaurant was courteous and called to apologize. Very nice of him and he showed genuine concern for our disappointment.

We turned up without a reservation without much expectation of getting a table but were courteously asked to wait just 15 minutes at the bar which turned out to be less than 10 in the end. This was the first time I had experienced Indian fine dining and I was extremely impressed. The amuse bouche was spectacular and a great way to introduce us to what was to come. All dishes were delicately spiced, but spiced enough. It's fair to say that this is fusion food as I would not expect to see peanut butter as an ingredient in authentic Indian cuisine 😂. The service, too, was excellent: attentive but not obtrusive and the surroundings and décor oozing quality. Conversation was easy as even though the restaurant was full, noise levels were low. Of the four restaurants at which we ate during our stay, this was by far the best...and by far from the most expensive (very good value). I unhesitatingly recommend Indian Accent.

I am a lover of Indian food and eat it all over the world and have also lived in India. And I’ll tell you that Indian Accent’s food is amongst the best, most creative and interesting Indian I’ve been to. This was our third visit and the food was extraordinarily good as always. But… we had a reservation at 9:15 for a birthday celebration and they didn’t seat us till 9:45pm with hardly an apology and no recognition that we’ve been waiting for half an hour in the street. It’s really not good enough for this level of restaurant. Too bad ... but can’t recommend any more.

Walked into the restaurant at 8.45pm on a Wednesday evening. Waited at the unattended host stand for a seating. The restaurant seemed about 50% occupied. A nearby waiter was describing the menu to a party which had clearly just been seated. Another set of waiters served apps to a large group. Two bartenders were mixing drinks. All within a few feet of me. I waited. Waved my hands. Made eye contact. Asked for help. They couldn’t have cared less to have me. Seven minutes later, I left. Who is in charge of Sales Prevention at this restaurant? You would get a raise, but the restaurant might not survive long enough

The tasting meny took us through a variety of exciting tastes and combination. Paired with exciting wines the whole experience felt extraordinary. The friendly staff gave is the necessary introduction to all courses. For a novise from Northern Europe used to a less spicy kitchen, this was absolutely stunning.... We were 5 people enjoying around three and half hours just enjoying food and life!

Fabulous from start to finish. Very well trained staff. Definitely do the wine pairings. Every dish was special.

After theatre at the bar. We shared 3 appetizers. The ribs were delicious. The dumplings in broth were perfect. The crispy sweet potato dish was excellent. The beer was well chosen and very cold. This restaurant never fails to be good.

I visit NY and every trip I take around the world one evening is for Indian . I went to Indian Accent and did they’re tasting menu . Everything was absolutely delicious . Great service and super delicious food . Can’t wait to come back to NY and go again .

i've wanted to go to indian accent for a long time and it didn't disappoint. the food, decor, service were all impeccable. the food was creative and yummy - especially the crab claws, the ghee roast lamb, everything we ordered actually. i had the yummiest gluten free rotis ever! can't wait to go back to sample more of their yummies. our wait staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Amazing table service, pleasant dining atmosphere, and most importantly, truly delicious food. This is certainly the best Indian food that I’ve ever had, not because it differed from the homestyle dishes more commonly found at Indian restaurants in the U.S. (I really love those dishes!), but because the food here is haute and experimental cuisine that was a joy to explore. You pay for this quality, of course, but the high price was fair for a memorable tasting menu. To even better express my satisfaction with this restaurant, I can easily say that this was one of the best meals that I have had anywhere in the world. I will return there, without a doubt.

Everything was first class from start to finish. The service was attentive but unobtrusive, and the food was delicious as well as beautiful. It was Indian food with a twist and full of surprises. The desserts were in a league of their own, especially the light and airy saffron milk. Highly recommend.

Came in with high expectations. Menu is fusion. No indians would eat here. :)) thats the key. Its been washed out to cater to rich westerners who want to feel they have broadened their repertoire. Pass on this place unless you have a large expense account and want to go with clients. Service is slow. We waited 45bminutes between some courses.

Indian Accent is an upscale & expensive Indian restaurant. It’s technically a “chain” - they have 2 other restaurants in New Delhi and London - so it must be very good. It is popular with Indians - which is a good sign. They have a good variety of menu selections- but all prix fixe. The service is very attentive. They offer a very nice amuse bouche - squash soup & mini stuffed naan. The preparations were unusual- not traditional- but all excellent. Everything we tried was very good - some spicy but still good. All together it was great but too much food - and expensive. The beer selection is modest - but good. However, they have a very good wine selection- by the glass and bottle. This was probably the best Indian restaurant we have been to in Manhattan - maybe anywhere - and one of the best restaurant experiences in general.

I return to Indian Accent in NY Midtown and find the same atmosphere, friendliness of service and great food as a few years ago. Perseverance rewards. Of course we are talking about Hindu cuisine reinterpreted in a modern and current way.

Our experience at Indian Accent was one of the most exquisite culinary experiences I have had in NYC. We dine in many of NYC's finest and this was simply outstanding. The service was impeccable. I had not had such friendly and happy waitstaff in such a long time. They all truly seemed to enjoy their jobs and delighted in our enjoyment of the food. It has also been a while since I have had a bottle of wine so well poured and paced throughout the meal. The food was wonderful as well! Each course was better than the next - both in presentation and taste. The food while unique was not fluffy and pretentious. Every bite was delicious! The ambiance was perfect- slight bustling but not too noisy- elegant and not too overstated. We will return again and again!

We just came back home from my NY trip, and had dined at Indian Accent last Friday. We enjoyed the 4 course meal and it’s presentation, food was delicious. What we didn’t like was the bartender’s cleanliness and the way he practiced hygiene. I have never seen a bar tender pour a drink and pick it up by the rim for serving, and definitely didn’t expect this level of unhygienic way of serving at Indian Accent. Upon informing my server, he immediately apologized, and asked the bartender to get fresh glasses and pour a drink. And this time, the bartender threw a fit, and spilt some bourbon off the glass while pouring. By this time, I let it go as we were elated with the food, and wanted a great experience on a Friday evening, however this bartender’s behavior did leave a bad taste and not something we had expected.

This was my third time at Indian Accent in NYC and can honestly say this is my favorite restaurant in the city. The spicy chicken was to die for and every dish was out of this world. Great service and the best Indian food on the planet. 3 course menu was very reasonable.

Really good Indian food. Large selection. Tasting menus. Expensive but worth it. I will be going back

What a delicious meal. Every bite was a taste sensation and each a different flavor. The staff was excellent, very helpful with suggestions. The service was superb. We will return.

This high end authentic meal was such a treat for a before theater meal. The price fixed lunch includes two courses and an accompaniment. There were many choices per course and the server explained them all thoroughly since we didn’t know the terms for most of the dishes. Flavorful and just the right size for lunch. The place was empty on a Sat lunch but it was so worth it!

I was skeptical about fixed menu at first. Once we sat down, staff asked us to select one dish from each course, we each picked different ones. Food prep and menu was very nice and unique. Very nice ambiance. This is not your typical Indian restaurant and must be experienced. Reservations were a little hard to get, so try booking in advance,

We had a fantastic time at Indian Accent. The food was delicious, the cocktails were great and the service was perfect. Quite expensive but a wonderful experience.

What a tremendous meal. There was an issue when we first arrived with our reservation but we were quickly seated. The service was spectacular and the ambiance felt sophisticated yet fun. For our starters, we ordered the sweet potato and kashmiri morels. The sweet potato was good but filling, and my husband was a fan of the kashmiri morels (although I found the dish a bit rich). For our mid-course, we ordered the eggplant and tofu. Both were excellent, but I highly recommend the spicy bite of the eggplant. For our mains, we ordered the chicken and roast lamb. The lamb was out of this world good. The chicken was also tasty but I would order a braver dish next time. The kulcha accompaniments were fantastic, especially the chana masala. The treacle tart and the cheesecake dishes were a fabulous way to end the evening. The espresso martini was also delicious. It was a memorable meal we won’t forget.

My daughter loves the makhan malai at Indian accent and has had it before while dining here. Imagine my shock and anger, when I wanted to treat her to dessert at Indian accent and was TURNED AWAY from dining in any form because I had a child under 10 years with me. I am now obligated to explain to my crying child that she is not allowed in this establishment because of a new ridiculous policy (which, by the way, I’ve NEVER HEARD OF- not listed on the website in any form!!) that doesn’t allow any children here. EVEN if she behaves well, EVEN if I’m willing to take her out if she cries, EVEN if she’s been here before with no issues. And when I asked if I could take out the dessert to eat at home, I was denied that also. For an Indian restaurant, this restaurant has NO INDIAN VALUES OR CULTURE whatsoever. I am appalled to even associate with this restaurant in any form. They are so devious- not listing their policies anywhere – simply turning away people at the door. And for all that, they aren’t even that high end- I have gone to MULTIPLE Michelin star restaurants for dinner with my child (Jean Georges, Kajitsu, Café Boulud) with no issues, but for an A LA CARTE MENU DURING BRUNCH I’m turned away? What a JOKE of a restaurant. I’ve lived in NYC for over 5 years and this is the first time I’ve ever encountered such a garbage policy and terrible service. Most rude and inhospitable place ever, will never dine here again and will make sure my voice is heard. For the record, I spoke to employees in the establishment who agree with my sentiments and encouraged me to leave a negative review criticizing the policy. That’s never a good sign. It speaks volumes to how people even working at this restaurant can’t agree with this draconian policy. The reason this policy isn’t on their website is because they probably don’t want to deal with the PR backlash that would result. Well- make up your mind- be honest so people don’t come expecting to be able to dine with their child, only to be turned away and sent back home. That’s worse in my opinion. 0 stars if I could.

Ate here on April 27. Exquisite food elegantly presented and stellar service. The problem? Food poisoning the next day! A few years back spent a month in India eating across the spectrum from high end to street food and never got sick. INEXCUSABLE in a place that presents itself as world class!!

Outstanding experience from start to finish. My husband and I were a little unsure of what everything in the menu was. Our server MD explained every possible detail of each dish. We told him our likes and dislikes and he was able to help us navigate the menu. All his recommendations were on point. I can't even explain how amazing the food and the presentation were. The attention to detail that the chef puts into his dishes are incredible. We chose the 3 course prefix. I didn't want each course to end because the flavors were incredible. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, the next course blew me away. This restaurant is an experience and worth every single penny. Our service was probably the best service we've ever had in a restaurant. Go. You will not be disappointed.

I was delighted with Indian Accent. The service and ambiance are wonderful, but the food (and the cocktails) is the star of the show. The Prix Fixe menu is a little pricey with choices of either 3 or 4 courses, but definitely worth the splurge. I had the pulled jackfruit phulka appetizer, the paper roast dosa, wild mushroom, water chestnut, gunpowder main course, and the kheer, crispy seviyan, coconut and jaggery ice cream dessert. The wait staff are knowledgeable and welcomed questions. All three courses were delicious but my favorite was the pulled jackfruit phulka that was in a taco shape and absolutely delicious. I also had the Proper Copper Cocktail made of Kaffir Lime Leaf Vodka, Honey and Rose Blossom Water. Beautifully presented in a copper mug with rose blossoms sprinkled on top and a delightful almost ginger taste. I highly recommend Indian Accent, the food is creative and beautifully presented, unlike anything I've had before at an Indian restaurant.

This was a truly spectacular meal. Every course was perfection, and I’m hardly exaggerating. If you go as a group, I’d recommend that each person selects a different appetizer / mid-course / entree so you can try as many delicious items on the menu as possible. The pickle braised ribs were absolutely divine, and it melted right in my mouth. I ordered the tandoori salmon (was a bit concerned that I was making a mistake ordering salmon at a great restaurant like this, when I could be getting something more unique). That being said, it was probably the best salmon I’ve had in my life. The kheer desert was awesome too. A very memorable and special dining experience!

Rude and pretentious host. We had a reservation, yet they still had us wait an hour. No apologies. Sad because we were really impressed by the food. Service only got better when we ordered an expensive bottle of wine. Not cool. Will not return, nor can I recommend a restaurant with outdated and pretentious service mentality.

This is not a standard Indian restaurant very nice surroundings and ambience. Staff are very attentive with a light touch, as the menu is far removed from the usual they take a lot of time to explain and describe. The food was sensational beautifully presented and tasty. This obviously comes at a price but for a treat it's worth it.

Recommended by friends who had been to their London location. I love going someplace where a pre-read of the menu is so indecipherable that you know eating will be an adventure. This place did not disappoint. I was expecting an uptown version of Buddhakan ... but the space is relatively small and unremarkable. The staff make the place. There is a personal attentiveness from your greeting at the door onward that makes you feel like they understand hospitality and care more about your experience than turning tables. Bar and wait staff were patient, attentive, and helpful. Our waiter was especially gifted at appearing just when we needed him. The food is sensational, filled with wonderful flavors and presented innovatively. The crab claws in butter and the mathri trio were sensational starters; pork dumplings and tiger prawns were unlike any you could find in New York; HIGHLY recommend the roast lamb and the scallops. Wine list is broad and interesting. It was two hours of feeling like a welcome guest at a dinner in which each bite was a surprise and a delight.

I thought I had been to good Indian restaurants before but this meal was so much better than any prior meals. The three of us picked a different menu item from each course - we had no idea what we ordering but all were so good, I recommend this restaurant highly. The serve was outstanding,

Very pleasant. Good see and good location for me. It was a quick meal and fun. If I was back in New York I might go again if I am in the area. Pop in and give it a try

Our second visit to this location along with 2 previous visits to the original in New Delhi - consistently outstanding. Had the 3 course menu and everything was fresh, with complex flavors and stunning presentation. The menu items are always interesting and it's a challenge to pick among them. Could easily eat here once a week, although that would challenge the pocketbook. Highly recommended but be aware, no other Indian food will match what you find at Indian Accent.

We were highly recommend it to this restaurant. When we went there it was like so much restriction about Covid mask on mask down mask on mask down I didn’t even enjoy the food. At the beginning they said we have 90 minutes for dinner why I have to rush for my dinner? And the food was overpriced very small portions nothing to be excited never will go back and don’t recommend to anybody the food was salty and chewy.

High Indian cuisine, the 3 or 4 course formula is also very interesting. Very tasty menu, excellent service, the brunette girl was very kind. I would go back a thousand times. One of the best Indians in the world plays with spicy affair in Beverly Hills.

Finally went there for dinner last night, and did not disappoint. Hands down best Indian food we have had. The drinks were good, and the food was great. We had the three and four course dinner. The ghee lamb was amazing, as was the scallops. The kulchas were tasty, as was the chutneys. The desserts of malai and carrot halwa were just the right amount of sweet, not overpowering. Our server, Chang was very helpful in making the selections. We can’t wait to return.

Very fabulous restaurant with Indian food. The wild mushroom kulcha and Doda Barfi treacle tart,Vannila bean ice Cream is very tasty and one must try.

This is a great meal. It's not "great Indian food." It's great food. Indian Accent is a one Michelin starred NYC restaurant and deserves all its acclaim. It is the sister restaurant to the Indian Accent in Delhi and London, where the Delhi location is one of the top restaurants in all of Asia. Our family of five had a great table location - we chose the tasting menu option and were treated to some "out of this world" food, complete with plenty of Indian flavors and nuances. We love Indian food and eat it often - this rivals Rasika in Washington, DC as our favorite Indian restaurant in America.

Myself and my partner visited Indian Accent given the decent reviews on trip adviser and Indian being one of our favour types of food. The bulk of our experience here was great. We decided on the taster menu which was a great choice as this allowed us to experience everything the restaurant had to offer. I would give the food here a solid 9/10! All dishes were balanced and offered a different edge to standard Indian food. My only negative to this restaurant was the end of night service and expectation on tips. We appreciate America is a tipping culture, however being British this is very far from our culture. At the end of the night our meal came up to around $400 which is very expensive for a meal for two. We understood that tipping in America is something they push for so we decided to leave one as we didn’t want to be rude. We left an extra $40 (10%) which is a huge tip for us as this is something we would never normally do. When we finished the night and followed the waiter to the paying area we were suddenly made to feel like we were criminals or something with a switch in attitude on discovering this $40 tip. We were looked down on, spoke too externally rudely with comments like “is that it” and left to leave the restaurant without any pleasantries. This, if I’m honest, ended our night with a sour taste in our mouths to what would have been an amazing night. I fully appreciate the tipping culture in America. That being said, we was not treated like the above at any other restaurants we visited on our trip and left much less tips at the other places. Consideration should be given to international guest that are visiting here and an understanding should be put on British culture, being that tips are very far from how we operate and at points the pressure the waiters put on your becomes rude. If it wasn’t for the above, this would have got a 5 star as the food was great.

Went here based on reviews and I am glad we did. The food was outstanding and definitely different to Indian food at a regular Indian restaurant...but well worth a try. The staff were great and the setting was lovely. Highly recommended.

This is probably the best food I've ever had, and the service was amazing. Both me and my husband loved it! Highly recommend!!!

Stylish Indian restaurant near the theaters in Broadway. Really good food, attentive service. I recommend making reservations in advance.

The tasting menu is fantastic. Chef’s take on traditional recipes from north-south-east & west India is quite fascinating. As I read the menu, I was very intrigued by almost all the dishes and I wished I had the appetite to try them all. I ended up picking the four course menu and chose - potato sphere chat, tiger prawns w/peanut sago vada, spinach kofta with pea salan and chicken tikka kulcha, makhan malai. Everything was delicious! The drinks are innovative as well. Mudra punch is a must try if you are craving for some good old rose flavor. The ambiance and service is fantastic. Definitely a treat!

Indian Accent offers multi course tasting menus that create the perfect opportunity to explore the excellent tastes coming out of their kitchen. If you want to eat a bit less, reserve a seat at the bar where you can order ala carte.Excellent service. All our courses were delicious-tiger prawns, scallops, lamb and the breads with choice of filling. They turn up their noses at mango chutney and traditional Indian beers in favor of sophisticated sauces, micro brews and an extensive wine list - as a mango chutney lover that was a small disappointment that paled in the context of a great meal overall.

We were a party of four, we walked in and told there was no room for us despite it being empty. They took one look at us and turned us away. As we were leaving we heard the staff say something to each other which was nothing to pleasant

We visited the restaurant on a weekday but to my surprise the place was overly busy. The staff was cordial enough to explain the various courses available and the variety of food options available. The entire experience on both the presentation and the food quality was just awesome. I had the crabs as appetisers and prawns as main course. Both dishes were just scrumptious. We actually skipped the third course and took the desert instead (the staff was courteous enough to allow us to do that though not a part of the multi course meal). The deserts too were out of the world. A must do for Indian food in NY.

We had a very bad experience at Indian Accent. This is not Indian food. More a fusion between Indian, Italian and Chinese. If you want Indian food - this is not the place to go.

This place had a hype which made me drive all the way from long island to NYC to eat at this Indian joint. I had made an appointment at 8 pm which was not ready and after 10-15 min got a table which looked like I was eating food with a train of people all tables were adjoining to each other. Any way had to make some commotion so that they moved us to booth privacy at last. The service was good except my wife's drink came after 45min. Food was not for Indian palate but was not bad,

Very much enjoyed branch at this place. All the dishes we ordered were tasty. The staff explained in advance what we can expect or helped us make a choice to our taste. I love most of Indian cuisine dishes, so this was a great opportunity to enjoy some of them in a contemporary form. If you like daal with naan bread like I do, fo for it.

This is one of 3 Indian Accents worldwide; the others are New Delhi and Mumbai, and it’s clear why they earned Michelin Stars. Warmly greeted by Ambrose when we arrived. She remembered our favorite table. Service is attentive, never rushed. Servers are terrific about advising you on 3 or 4 course; ours recommended one of each so we could split the amazing dessert. She also recommended good pairings- important with such distinctive spices and preparation. For appetizers we had the potato sphere chaat, and Assamese broth dumplings in nettle oil, with crispy black rice. For mid course we had the smoked eggplant bharta cornets, & rock shrimp with gunpowder [chili]. For mains we had the Branzino, & ghee roast lamb- my favorite. For dessert we split the [non dairy] coconut & jaggery kheer, banana cashew cheesecake, black rice chikki. Doesn’t really matter what you order- just ask your server for advice. We’ve never had a disappointing dish; neither have the friends we recommended try this place.

Excellent restaurant!!!! Good quality food, attentive staff, great for a family trip

Best indian food that I ever had! Great service and nice ambience. Easy to find in the middle of Manhattan. Don’t miss this experience when you are in New York

Manish Malhotra’s restaurant was arguably the best Indian fusion place in NYC and I had not been there so this was a first. I love Indian food but my preference is for the traditional recipes and presentations. But the fad these days is to give these traditional recipes a twist and call it fusion of the old and the new. Most times it leaves me wanting the “old way” . And the 15 course tasting menu left me tired and not very excited. The courses itself were very small bite sized offerings presented quite well. for example Indian breads come in a wide variety and are very popular. But here they served a very small tiny Naan stuffed with Bleu Cheese. That is not a combination I was used to so did not find it appetizing. Maybe for someone who does not have a preconceived notion of what the dish should look like and taste like the fusion presentations would be very welcome and desirable. But for me I found myself wanting the traditional dishes. The desserts were nice. Particularly the Malai Makhachkala which is a whipped cream soufflé sprinkled with nuts and raisins but in the fusion version here came with rose petal jaggery brittle. If you have never had Indian food do try this place and their tasting menu

The restaurant opens at 5pm for dinner and we entered soon after that. There were not many customers, so the attention we got was quite enthusiastic, even overwhelming. However, as the restaurant filled up, the attention to other customers was no less attentive. The staff were very helpful especially with explaining the items on the menu. I have learnt not to shy away from asking for assistance on menus. Our eventual choices were very well presented and tasty, try the Ghee Roast Lamb. The cost of the meal however wasn't cheap but the quality isn't.

A truly memorable experience, from the service at the bar to the incredible flavors. I can’t wait to try the London restaurant.

Best NEGRONI of my life!!! And the 4 course $90 USD dinner has been the best Indian Food experience we have ever had... cant wait to come back Special thanks to all the staff and Kenneth our “Culinary Sherpa” who made the night extra special with his patience and attention. Honorary mention for the Mixologist

Thank you Amy for another superb, unrushed experience with delicious food, an attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant offers a three course or four course menu. We chose three courses. We ordered the sweet potato shakarkandi, starfruit, crispy okra and the potato sphere chaat, white pea mash for our appetizers. For our Mid-course dishes, we ordered the tofu masala, shishito peppers which was so beautifully cooked, and the prawns and the butter-pepper-garlic, cauliflower. Lastly, we ordered our main dishes which were the wild mushroom kebabs, morel pulao, winter truffles and my favorite the butter scallops, sea beans, cauliflower & saffron curry. We had to try to stop ourselves from eating everything so fast because it was so delicious. We will be back again when we return to NY city. This place does not disappoint in our opinion!

The menu is a bit confusing and the range of naan breads is amazing. Small portions and we went for the 3 course. All four of us enjoyed it and it was not excessive. Recommended

Elegant and comfortable. Very good service and accommodating staff. ked in with no reservations on a Friday Evening and were seated at the bar. Kitchen working very well, no lag for various dishes. Food quality is VG/Excellent - dishes and menu were interesting and inspired. I will go again.

Been there for both lunch and dinner. The lunch is by far the better value. Both offer excellent food, worthy of a Michelin star, in my opinion. The staff need some training but overall it’s a restaurant worth a visit.

We came here because of the rating and proximity to our hotel. We opted for the 3-course price fixe at $88 and the food was superb, though VERY spicy. The kulchas were great, especially the butter chicken. The mains, the branzino and beef tenderloin, were great. The smoked eggplant cornet was VERY spicy.

Unless you have an oversized appetite, you will be happy with the 3 course option. The 'accompaniment' is actually the size of one of the courses, not a side dish. The waiter will say, "This is one bite, this is two bites, etc." But each course is more than enough. You will leave quite full. With that bit of business out of the way, this is an excellent restaurant. All the food is flavorful, sometimes a bit spicy, but if you like Indian food, it will not be too spicy at all. Lastly the restaurant is upscale, so dress up a bit - nothing extravagant, but not jeans and sneakers. The restaurant is expensive, but almost everything worthwhile in NYC is.

Recently had an excellent meal at Indian Accent and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian food in new York, especially before or after a show. We chose the 4-course option and did not regret it - it's worth it to try one more dish. If you go, be sure to try the crab legs and ribs small plates - our favorites! We asked our waiter for recommendations on every course and he did not steer us wrong. Lots of menu items I wasn't familiar with, so you may want to ask your server as well - ours gave great advice!

Really delicious indian restaurant. The service was great and the atmosphere was good for having dinner with my boss. The price was reasonable for how much food we got. I would go back.

Service is first class. Origina, refined indian cuisine. We really enjoyed our experience there.....

A big disappointment...from the noisy table by the bar (I an still hear the cocktail shaker ice cubes rattling in my head a day later...to the nearly completely indecipherable menu which required every dish to be translated - nothing was really good. More show than substance and lots of tourists - midtown at its' best....a big disappointment. The saag Paneer - spongy tofu (?), sitting on a teaspoon of watery spinach ....the smokey eggplant was so smokey and spicy (tiny little portion served in tiny cones (again all show) friend could not eat it. You should get the drift by now. Yes, service was nice...yes, seating better in back but nothing could change the food. Yes pretty but beyond that, you can do a lot better.

We called on Nov 25th and Dec 6 to make reservations for 7 people on Dec 31st. They took the information and confirmed on the phone that they have us on the book. I call to confirm and they tell me they messed up and do not have our reservations. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant again. Incompetent people.

Service excellent Food overall mediocre Price very high for the brunch especially mediocre food taste and variety Nothing special Only tasty thing was Dal Makhani Everything else was mediocre Naan horrible

The chef tasting menu I had at Indian Accent was quite possibly the fanciest meal I've ever had, and pretty much every single one of the roughly dozen dishes was insanely well-done and delicious. The chef tasting is expensive, but so is everything else on the menu, plus you don't come to Indian Accent just to be frugal. Thus, I think it is a must to get that. The courses are small, but don't be fooled. There is more than enough food over the course of the dinner. In fact, I'd recommend coming pretty hungry, in order to not have trouble finishing anything like I did. If you enjoy Indian food or fine dining, then this is a must, as it is arguably the pinnacle of both. I have also been told multiple times that the other location of Indian Accent in New Delhi is even better than the one in NYC, which is hard to imagine. Going to Indian Accent is definitely a night you won't forget, and you'll want to return as soon as possible.

I have to admit that I love the modern Indian. And "Indian Accent" does a first-rate job in it. For the appetizer I had prawns (excellent), and then scallops, mussels etc with rice for the main dish. They too were very good. It is a great feeling that at the end of the meal you feel nice but not unpleasantly full. The wine selection is, as far as I can tell, very good, I sat at the bar and had nothing to complain about the service. It was quite friendly. The price is in the range of good NYC restaurants: between $80 and $120 per person.

Second time at this great find recommended by a friend familiar with the London location. The menu here is not your tiki masala standard but more on par with Gymkahna or Quilon or a Tamarind for New Yorkers. Thankfully the weight staff is fantastic & will guide you through the seafood, lamb, chicken & veggie dishes to find your pallet’s threshold. I don’t think there is anything on the menu that is not great (although per usual in Indian food establishments I’d stay away from the beef-my least favorite of outstanding dishes) Wine list is a pleasant surprise (Stoltman Syrah 😋) & the restaurant is relatively quiet for the busy theater & shopping crowd. Really a wonderful experience if you appreciate good authentic Indian cuisine! 👍👍👍👍👍

I wish this restaurant had maintained their service standards throughout the meal. If they had, this review would be MUCH better. But they didn't, and made only a token effort to correct their negligence. So, the specifics: We each had enjoyed a glass of wine with the complimentary amuse bouche/appetizer offerings. I requested a second glass when the waitress delivered my main course. She brought a clean glass right away, but it was for a different wine than I ordered. The correct glass came promptly. The wine did not. It did not come throughout the remainder of the meal, despite requesting it twice more. Finally, the waitress said she had told the "manager" that the wine didn't come, and that he would be "right over" to address the problem. He did not come at all until we had finished the meal, the dishes were removed, and we had requested the check. At that time, he brought the requested wine and said he would give us a glass, then remove it from the bill. In all, it was over 25 minutes from the initial request until he arrived -- and by then, we were preparing to leave and had finished eating, so we declined the additional glass. Then the check came. It was for the full order. They did not make any attempt to compensate for the poor service. They should have made one of the original two glasses complimentary, or otherwise accommodated us. Moments later, the waitress came with the same bottle and again tried to give us another glass -- but by then, we already had given our credit card to the staff and were ready to leave. We expected better service at a restaurant of this quality and expense. The glass we ordered would have cost $20, and none of the menu items were inexpensive. People make mistakes, but the lack of appropriate response was not acceptable. It is unfortunate that this part of the experience tainted the entire meal that otherwise would have received a very positive rating. From our view, the failure here belongs to the "manager", not the staff who were wonderful throughout the rest of the meal. We arrived for a late lunch at 1pm. The decor and atmosphere were excellent, clean and airy. We were seated immediately by the very pleasant and friendly hostess. The food menu, drinks menu (including wines by the glass), and full wine list were presented immediately. The water came quickly, after checking our preference for sparkling or tap. The lunch menu offered an 8-course lunch tasting menu for $98 or a 2-course lunch menu for $38 that included appetizer and main dish. We chose the 2-course option. There were 6-8 selections for each and the menu offered some diversity. This is NOT a traditional Indian restaurant that has multiple curries and the expected vindaloo/masala offerings. This is upscale Indian cuisine. The flavors are much more subtle and harmonious. My wife is vegetarian, and there were two or three very tasty options for her. She started with a tofu masala and then had the baked paneer. She was happy with both. My appetizer was a small smoked duck uttapam that resembled a small pizza. It was good, but the sauces overpowered the taste of the duck. I wouldn't order that one again. My main course was excellent, however. The pepper chicken was very well done thighs in a peppery sauce. As I said earlier, the flavors were distinct from the average Indian restaurant, and very savory in their interplay. I wish that the overall service lived up to the menu. For the price we paid, we expected better.

We arrived and were immediately made to feel welcome, from the initial greeter, the lady that took our coats to the person that took us to the table. Great spin on the cocktails with spices! We took the taster menu- chicken tikka, baked cod followed by sweet pickle rib and scallops the three deserts to finish off were a delight. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. We’ve literally eaten all over the world and recently just been in India, nothing touches this place, second time we’ve been, we will be back soon having experienced London and Delhi!!

Last week was Diwali and three friends and I chose to celebrate it at Indian Accent. This is Chef Manish Mehrotra’s acclaimed restaurant located at Le Parker Meridien Hotel. It is elegant with white tablecloths and impeccable service where the wait staff are knowledgeable about the cuisine. Having eaten here twice when it first opened, I knew that we were in for a jolly good feed. I had regaled my friends about the sweet pickle ribs that have developed a cult following especially as Pete Wells of the New York Times wrote about it. I also told them that I wasn’t planning to share a single morsel. We chose the 2 course prix fixe for $35. Everyone ordered the ribs as the first course. First an amuse arrived. A minuscule mug with shorba was given to us. It tasted like a rich meat broth. With it, we each had one piping hot tiny naan filled with a sharp creamy blue cheese filling. Then two glistening sweet pickle ribs were placed in front of us. Silently we ate these succulent ribs and then ooh’s and aah’s were mouthed. The tangy mango flavor was packed with addictive meaty flavor. Carol, Eden and Jennifer chose the seared scallops with rava prawns as their second course and it was a substantial amount of food served in a large bowl. I had the chicken malai tikka with sugar snap peas and summer truffle. Three butter naans melted in our mouths as we ate our food. Jennifer ordered a smoked bacon filled kulcha. Sherry, Muscat, Merlot and rosé were our drinks with the lunch. By this time all of us were quite full and so I ordered the meethe chawal (sweet rice) made with almond milk and barberries and four spoons. Wafer thin sesame crisps topped this unusual sweet that didn’t resemble what Mum made but we all had a bite or two. I have been hatching a plot to kidnap the chef and bring him to my apartment with its minuscule kitchen but well stocked spice cabinet. I will give him a rack of pork ribs and tell him to “create magic!”

Birthday dinner with the Mrs. Reservations were easily made with OpenTable and time was changed easily also. we had a nice boot on the side for just the two of us. wine list was good, the Gruner Veltliner from Austria very well accompanying the menu. Service is quick, but not very intimate. Major downside: we ordered the one chef's 7 courses tasting menu for me and a la carte for the Mrs... That was not possible. They would only serve two menu to the both of us or none. I am not used to that, certainly not in a European restaurant of that standard. shouldn't be that difficult for the chef to pair three courses to the 7 courses of the other. That said, the crab claws, butter-pepper-garlic, cauliflower, the tandoori lamb chops, bharta, smoked papad and the seared scallops, prawn koliwada, malvani dried shrimp pulao were just delicious. we appreciated the complimentary makhan malai, saffron milk, rose petal jaggery brittle, almonds with a candle on top.

I had heard great things about Indian Accent original restaurant in Delhi and just based on that reputation decided to visit their New York branch. It indeed really lived up to its reputation. Appetrizers were great, Ghee roasted lamb was Okish. However, Makhani Malai really took the center-stage. I have never seen any restaurant across the world replicate the Varanasi street food in such a good manner. Kudos to Indian Accent

Went here for dinner with clients and did the tasting menu. Being Indian i thought the appetizers could have been better. The second , main and dessert blew my mind. The food had a very cool presentation and the service was great. Will be back for sure

We had dinner here soon after it opened...also dined several times at the restaurant in New Delhi. Always had a fabulous experience, excellent service, superb food. Truly authentic. Maybe one should also be able to choose a two course meal!

Nice place for normal Indian vegetarian food. good service and reasonable rates.Good to visit with families. Choice is also okay

Indian Accent has attentive service, a convenient location, handsome decor and--most importantly--a great variety of deliciously seasoned food that you are unlikely to experience elsewhere in New York. The lamb chops were particularly memorable--tendered charred meat with a mix of intriguing spices that commanded attention without drowning out the taste of the lamb. The menu is extensive, and many of the dishes were new to me. Fortunately, the waitstaff patiently explained how dishes were prepared and offered useful recommendations. Plan to linger over a memorable meal that will include multiple courses and be topped off by a marvelous dessert.

First time there. The food was delicious. Sophisticated and differente dishes compare other Indian place we tried; also european place. We appreciated that. The staff was amazing, everyone was gentle e cute. Good experience.

Our lunch/brunch at Indian Accent was a highlight of a recent trip to New York. It’s a prix fixe menu - you select either two courses or three (the third course is dessert) plus an “accompaniment”, and choose among six options within each course. Most of the menu options provide a fusion and/or chef-ified twist on Indian street food, and all of them are fabulous! Our group of four dined family style, so we tried most of the items on the menu and shared food. It all started with a tiny cup of the most delicious pumpkin and coconut soup, and only got better from there. Several of the first courses are delightful variations on the famous street snack chaat, fancied up with burrata or other things - although my favorite first course was the pao bhaji with little yeast buns, which our server described as a sort of Indian vegetarian sloppy joe. The second course options are more entree-like and equally delicious. And the desserts are a wonder. My favorite from a flavor point of view is a treacle tart with ice cream - like an extremely flavorful pecan pie. But for presentation and overall experience, it’s hard to beat the makhan malai, a gigantic puff of saffron cream that’s like eating a cloud. You won’t regret treating yourself to a meal at Indian Accent. The servers are kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and the food is amazing!

The food was excellent. Although a prefix menu, the options are very complete. A very complete wine and cocktail list. The service is superb.

Superb Indian Food as good as Delhi Restaurant. Pork Dumplings a must. As are the Potato Spheres. Prawn mid dish fantastic and staff and service excellent.

From the friendly greeting as we passed servers on the way our table, to the visually attractive presentation of each course to the patient attentive server we were assigned, it was a most memorable meal of delicious and creative food at Indian Accent. Highly recommend..

Indian food in a class by itself, at least on this side of the Atlantic. We had the tasting menu and every dish was a revelation. The presentation is beautiful, service excellent and the food is memorable. Expenbsive, but worth every penny.

Fabulous food. Lovely setting. Attentive wait staff. We have frequented Indian accent many times and have introduced our friends to the venue. Unfortunately we won’t be back and we suggest you avoid the rude behavior that ruined our night. Our table ordered cocktails, all name brand liquor. When the bill came my husbands shot of Don Julio was $60.00! We thought it was an error. When we questioned it the server said nothing. As we left the older man at the front of the house asked about our meal. We complained about the surprise pricing for the Don Julio and he said we should have known. We observed that in the past when a bar has an unusually expensive pour the customer is informed ahead of time. He didn’t back down. Our friend said “ all you have to do is say you are sorry”. We had paid. We were leaving. We were calm. We were regulars. The response “ I’m not sorry “. There’s no excuse for that behavior and no reason for us to return. Save yourself the aggravation. There are other places in NYC

Went for a celebratory and it did not disappoint. The service and food are topnotch. Try the braised lamb ribs! Yum!

We met a long time friend, and now business colleague, for lunch at his suggestion. Lunch was impressive. The staff provided great insights into the menu, helped us manage around food allergies, and delivered a great experience. The presentation was great, the food was full of flavor and meshed well, and the experience was great. I would highly recommend a visit.

Indian Accent is a top class Indian restaurant in New York City. The food is simply stunning alongside a great wine selection and super service. See photos of food …it tasted so good!

This place was quite simply stunning! If you want Indian food served with Michelin star restaurant innovation and panache, this is the place for you. I’ve visited NYC multiple times, but this is one of the best dinners I’ve had in the city. The food is unbelievably creative and immensely tasty. The best Indian food I’ve tried. Hands down. If you want to elevate your meal, you can even have wine pairings, which were surprisingly sophisticated and on point! Absolutely superb! Can’t recommend men’s it enough!

its s high end fancy restaurant, food is avaerage for the price and very small portions, decor is nice
10 stars
We chose Indian Accent for its proximity to Carnegie Hall and pre-theatre menu. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The food was spectacular. I don't know which was my favorite (they all were), and with three of us ordering three dishes each, there was a lot to choose from. The lamb chops were a vision of what lamb chops should taste like. Lamb ribs likewise. Assamese pork dumplings, pathar beef kabob, black dairy dal... Definitely not your standard Indian menu. The restaurant is gorgeous, the food presentation beautiful. Let's talk about service. Staff took care of everything without being intrusive. Every dish was explained, wine by the glass was offered to taste first, coats were taken without a claim check and redeemed without needing to ask. This is by far the best Indian food I've ever eaten, and one of the best meals of any type. Next trip to New York I know what my first stop will be.
