Family favorite pub near Columbus Circle. Great menu and atmosphere. Gets very crowded but worth the wait.

The restaurant was nice and a great atmosphere, too bad the server wasn't more pleasant. She never smiled and not happy to be working, if you're in the service business you need to at least try to be happy even if you don't want to be there since that's how you get tips. Food and drinks were good.

I came here with a friend for some after work drinks and we went straight to the bar. I was happy to see that the staff all got along pretty well it felt like we were amongst friends and like we knew them from long ago. Great spot for professionals in their 30's. Very cool vibe and atmosphere. Their cocktail menu is impressive compared to other places on 8th avenue. All of the bars and restaurants in Hell's Kitchen are mostly on 9th and 10th avenues. We ordered a few appetizers from the menu and I am thinking they're going to be small plates. We ordered the mac and cheese, sliders and wings. The mac and cheese was freaking delicious and the sliders were bomb! These three appetizers were enough to fee at least four people. The service was amazing and we even kicked back a few shots with our bartender after his shift was over. I will definitely come back soon.

I had a BBQ chicken spring roll. The ingredients of the roll included flavors I'd associate with a Mexican dish. It would have been great with a cilantro cream dipping sauce, but didn't really mesh with the BBQ sauce provided. My kids had cheeseburgers which were nothing special. Good beer selection!

The first time we visited NYC this restaurant helped us a lot when looking for the typical American bar to have dinner close to our hotel on Broadway / 54th. Ivy is just the way we were looking for: TV's broadcasting American football or baseball matches, plenty of current people having a beer after work, friendly waiters, good burgers, etc... In abstract a paradise for any traveller eager of mixing with the people of the Big Apple in a venue like those we've watched a hundred times on TV movies. And we found everything in Ivy! Service was excellent and food top. Moreover we tasted Brooklyn Lager and other gorgeous local beers, thus: What else ?

We stopped in out of the rain to grab dinner. Nice decor for a sports bar. Attentive service and wait staff. Good pub food filled us up but left us wishing we had picked something more unique. Would recommend it if you are craving a burger or fish tacos.

The bar is located within a walking distance from Columbus circle - Central Park. The atmosphere is that of a nice bar where people go to have a drink after work or watch a match with friends. I ordered a sample of their mini pork burgers and hot chicken wings which were just fine and a beer. My impression was that the staff seemed overworked. Prices are somewhat average, same as the overall experience.

We stopped in here for some dinner as it looked nice from the outside. The place inside too was cosy. We were welcomed by the waitress who took us to the table at the window, left us with some menus and came back quickly to take our order. A nice selection of food available. I would say after eating, a little high in price - but still good! Once our food arrived the waitress was friendly and became chatty about the UK - how we love our Diet Coke and Mayo. It did make us laugh. The food was tasty, fresh and the place was clean and not overly busy. After a busy day in the city, we wanted to have dinner and some drinks “chilling out” - the bar maid behind the bar was so loud! Talking about her previous jobs and how many trays / drinks she could carry. We probably would’ve stayed a bit longer if she wasn’t as loud. I suppose it is New York, but not what we expected in this little bar.

Fantastic spot. Had the Salmon burger and it was delicious, i was surprised that it was slightly breaded or "breaded" onto some spices. Made the burger taste crunchy and the place decor is quite impressive. Def a repeat.

Stumbled upon this place to get out of the rain on a Sunday afternoon. The hamburgers were top notch and drinks were reasonable for NYC. The gal Bartender was fantastic. Can't go wrong here.

We stopped off in here for to watch an England World Cup match whilst on holiday. It caught our attention with it's big open windows and large screens, there was a great atmosphere about the place. The menu was a couple dollars more than you would perhaps normally pay but both the service and the food was of a very, very high standard. Despite being in such a busy part of the city it was a very laid back venue too. As people rushed by the window it was nice to sit and relax in such a nice environment.

Wife and I stopped in here on a whim and we were not disappointed. The food was great and the beer and wine was good. We ordered the crunch burger. The burger was juicy and cooked just as we ordered it. Fries were hot and crispy. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Multiple TV's in the bar are on for viewing. Bug open window let on a nice breeze. We enjoyed oour dinner very much.

Just ate here with my husband, the food was amazing (good variety to choose from), fun but relaxed atmosphere, great service! Jonathon made the best drinks! Definitely would come back.

A friend and I were going to a Saturday matinee and wanted a have a nice lunch before hand. We chose the Ivy because it was close to the theater we were going to and and had and interesting brunch menu, though I would have liked to be able to order from the regular menu, but that's not offered on the weekend for lunch/brunch. There was only one other group when we arrived at 12pm but several tables filled up over the next few minutes but it was not crowded. The brunch menu is fairly extensive with mostly breakfast foods, eggs, waffles, pancakes etc but there is a burger, a chicken sandwich and a pasta too. If you want you can pay $30 and that includes an entree and all the Mimosa/Blinies/Bloody Mary's you want. I got the burger which was cooked as I ordered and came with hand-cut fries. It was very good. My friend got an omelet which gives you the choice of 3 fillings, everything from bacon to avocado. The omelet comes with toast and sweet potato hash. My friend enjoyed both the omelet and the hash. My only real complaint was on my second Mimosa I asked if they could put a little less orange juice and what I got was a glass that was half filled, so obviously they only put so much champagne in no matter what, but overall that was a minor quibble. The place itself is very nice and well maintained and the service was attentive.

We ate at Ivy Bar and Grill on our last evening in NYC. In our opinion, not the best way to end a wonderful week of great meals and culinary adventure. It was just after midnight as we were strolling through Manhattan on our way back to our hotel when we decided to stop into this place as there was music and people inside and we were starving and ready for something to drink and each. Have to say, not overly impressed. Staff was pretty much there, but not there. Maybe they had a long day, maybe they didn't care. But it pretty much was here's your table; here's your menu; take your order; here's the check. There was no engagement, no caring, no attempt to put on a good front, even if the day was wearing on them. Food was average...nothing special, nothing horrible. It's what you would expect from average PM bar fare. With all the options and choices in NYC, this place just didn't stand out to us and we wouldn't go back. Again...not horrible. Just not what we expected and the staff may have played a part in the overall experience.

My adult son, his friend, my husband and I spent the day wandering through Central Park and were starving as we made our way back to our hotel so we popped in to a Ivy for a few beers and some food. We had the grilled mushroom pizza as an appetizer which was delicious. My son had the crispy tortilla chipotle burger and fries. The fries are slightly battered, crispy and fabulous. He said it was one of the best burgers he's had in a long time. I enjoyed the chicken bahn mi sandwich and my hubby said he food was very good as well. The only negative is the first cocktail he had, the sunrise mojito was a titch bitter.

Following a long day sight seeing we stumbled across The Ivy. Initially I thought it was going to be too loud for us, however we got taken to a small table at the rear of the bar, which was quieter whilst still feeling in the hustle and bustle of the main bar. Two happy hour drinks and main courses came to a very reasonable price. The service was friendly too.

We found this place while looking for somewhere to go for lunch. It was quiet and we were given a table at the back in the seating area. It was a lovely place with candles on the tables and lights around the place. We were given ample time to choose from the menu which had good choices. We chose a burger and a veggie burger both which were delicious and had a beer and a cider. There was free wifi which was great and I used it to face time back to the UK. Service was good and the place was reasonable for NYC as some places were expensive. Our meal and drinks came to $48. Would visit again and defo recommend this to anyone wanting a nice place for lunch.

I used to work near here and our team and colleagues used to spend our happy hours here. Good drinks and great ambiance. Also close to the train which is very convenient!

I visited in the summer time just after father's day with my dad. I visited a little before 5 pm. It wasn't full, but there were still a number of patrons at the establishment. The decor was very modern and trendy. I ordered the trio sliders(classic, shrimp and crab mini burgers which were very good. My father had the chicken milanese that was also very delectable. We ordered a pitcher of white sangria that was included in the happy hour for about 20-25 dollars. The presentation was very nice, but unfortunately it was super watered down. It seemed like it was all juice. I would return, but would not have another sangria.

My colleagues and I meet up here every once in a while to grab a drink. It has a great ambiance when you walk through the door; dimly lit and can be great for a dinner date!

Went there after a concert in Lincoln Center a hop away on the train. It is not overly noisy, you can actually have a conversation with out yelling. The drinks are varied, well prepared and I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Nice!

Two oldies in a young bar A nice wine bar near Carnegie Hall. The concert was at 8 so when we walked in, it’s after work crowds and very noisy. Service is quick and to the point. The few items we ordered are really good. I tried their house wine: Red Diamond Cab Sauv and Proverb Sauvignon Blanc (?) both are pretty decent and will have it again.

Popped into Ivy to break up site seeing fatigue, glad we did. Lovely atmosphere. Got a table no problem as it was late afternoon, from 5pm it filled up quickly with after work drinkers changed to a more 'Sex in the City' type of bar very lively. Stayed for more drinks & decided to have food, sliders (mini burgers) & burrito were delicious. Staff were attentive & friendly, made to feel very welcome. Well worth the tip

Nice little bar on 8th ave, stopped in for a cold beer on a stifling hot day in Manhattan. We ordered the lobster taco appetizer and beet chips....excellent! . HAPPY HOUR $5.00 wine and beer.

I happened across the Ivy bar and grill by accident.. I was very pleasantly surprised that It's overly 'woody' exterior hid a more contemporary interior. The service was very good, the drinks perfectly mixed and the music laid back and very current.. A large menu of nibbles and entrees was presented, and my companion and I chose the kale/artichoke dip, the calamrie with sweet and hot sauce and chick pea fritters. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations, with a severly rich cheesy/fatty dip being the foundation of what could have been a healthy tasty Kale /Artichoke dip. The 5 chick pea fritters were of ample size, not over fried and good.. the calamarie a bit one note.. Thye menu appears to be large and contains other 'bar-food' such as pizzas and chicken wings.. as they went past to other tables, they did look good. So, if you are in the mid 50's on the West side of manhatten one afternoon, or evening and fancy trying a new spot,, try the Ivy.. I'd go back, but would be a bit more selective with the menu.

There’s something about The Ivy Room that keeps me coming back for more—it’s a perfect blend of charm, flavor, and live energy. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere wraps you in its cozy embrace, and the live music? It’s like the heartbeat of the place, giving every meal a rhythm. The Dirty Shrimp Cocktail is my starter of choice—bold, zesty, and always packed with flavor. And then there’s the Ivy Room Burger, a well-portioned masterpiece that hits the spot every time. But what really sets The Ivy Room apart is the people. The staff aren’t just servers; they’re the kind of friendly faces that make you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Great food, live music, and service with a genuine smile—it’s the perfect recipe for a memorable dining experience. If you’re looking for a spot that’s both laid-back and vibrant, The Ivy Room is your go-to. Trust me, you’ll leave with more than just a full stomach—you’ll leave with a story to tell.

Found this place on1st night in NCY as we were staying on W 57st and 9th Ave. Could not believe so many New Yorkers finish work and go to bars at 5-6 ish for hours on end. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Visited every night of our stay. Would deffo go back again.

We stopped here after the NYC marathon. Great little bar! seemed constantly busy. The service and food was fantastic!! We where sat on the high side tables which was ok but seated no more than 4 comfortably. We where a group of 5 which was tricky to balance all the dishes. We had a great time. I would go back!

Upon arriving in NYC, after checking in, and needing a drink and some food, Ivy provided us with a great first taste of life in NYC. We were made welcome from the outset. The beer was cold, the food was great and the service was courteous, friendly and quick. Towards the end of our holiday, we even returned for a more planned evening. That in itself (coming back again) is good feedback. Thanks for looking after these Aussies. "Have a great day"

More-or-less vintage ambiance, nice food, average service. Portions aren't large, but price isn't bad either. You'll need two dishes to feel full. The waiter felt a bit distracted, but I guess he was expecting more club-style/cocktail-drinkers than diners at that time --- we arrived at around 22.30

I had to try it in here as it shares my name. The food was great and the service was speedy. They had lovely Christmas decorations - with a Peacock twist. I recommend the Ivy Martini!

Walking up 8th and came across ivy. Lovely burger and wife had the chicken sandwitch. Reasonably priced and nicely spaced out tables.

The place is visually comfy and has a fine drinks list. The food menu is high for a middle class restaurant and the service is a bit haphazard and pro forma, not at all personal. If we go back, that's "if," it would be for the ambiance, not the prices and not the service.

Ate there twice on our vacation....it looks from the outside that it might be more for the young and trendy crowd, but I couldn't have been more incorrect. Great decor, good service and the food was excellent...especially the burger.

We were staying not far from this restaurant and decided to pop in on our last evening in the city.... what a find! We arrived at 6pm in middle of "happy hour" the hostess said she could take is but the table was needed for 7:30, we were about to just say we would leave it when the second hostess said not to worry and she would make another table available so we stayed! ( she approached us later on to say it was all taken care of and to enjoy meal) had an amazing pomegranate cosmopolitan cocktail, and had steak spring rolls to start which was perfect for sharing, lovely trio of dips. For mains my partner had an amazing seafood linguine with a plentiful helping of shrimp and scallops, cooked perfectly and the pasta was just the right texture. I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was out of this world, lovely cheesy sauce and perfect amount of lobster throughout. The service was excellent, helpful waitresses who seemed enthusiastic and pleasant. Really delighted with the service on a busy night shown by these ladies 😘

Can’t fault this place, really nice little bar. We were looking online for somewhere with reasonably priced drinks and nice food, and found Ivy. Happy hour prices were great, the food was very very good, the waitress extremely attentive, very nice atmosphere and really nice drinks! If in nyc again will definitely visit this place again! Ik

We stopped by here around 10.30pm looking for food and we were not disappointed. We had a burger and veggie burger both with fries. We also had a Heineken and a Coney Island draft beer. Service was quick and waiter friendly. Bar was cosy and warm with a great festive atmosphere. Would recommend if in the area.

Food was excellent try the grill cheese made with Brie cheese and avocado! I want one right now!!! Didn't know anything about this restaurant just stopped by for lunch no lines up good and clean. Service was great, food will not disappoint. Would definately return especially for the grill cheese!

We had the crab cake sliders and chicken tacos, both of which were delicious. The selection of beers is solid. The service was friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. I recommend this place.

Only came for drinks but immediately felt at home by friendly welcoming staff........Had already eaten so hadn't tasted their food... Will definitely come again and try their food ......drinks reasonable ......well worth a visit .... 😀

Went for a light lunch after shopping, service was friendly and we were seated quickly. There were lots of lunch options with a few deals and a good lunch menu. The vegi option was great, well thought through with flavours and presented nicely. Good portion size too. The service was quite slow even though it was very quiet but wouldn't be a problem unless you were in a rush. The atmosphere is nice and calm too with a lovely bar to sit and relax in.

Literally, One of my MOST FAVORITE little restaurants in all of Manhattan! I call it the perfect "Date Night" restaurant. The ambiance is always perfect. It can get loud sometimes, but if you go during the week, It may not be too crazy. The bar is the hot spot and the back area is where I love to enjoy my meals, As you can tell by my commentary, I've eaten here many many times (the most recent being last week). I always order a glass of Moscato and as far as my signature dish... I'm still working on it. The only thing I would ask from Ivy is they expand their menu with more food choices. I no longer eat meat so I'm limited to seafood. So far, I've tried the Salmon sliders and one of the Salads with Shrimp. I'd love if they offered Caesar Salads and next time, I'll ask if it's something that can be made although it's not on the menu. Other than this, I recommend everyone have one date night here & tell them "Heaven Sent Ya! ;)"

Me and my family came here last year on our first visit to NYC and absolutely loved it, so on our second visit to NYC this restaurant was a definite must. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are very kind and the food was delicious and served very very fast. If we come to NYC again we will definitely be coming here. Highly recommended.

We had dinner last night and it was delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for amazing food and a great cocktail menu

Happy hour is a great way of spending a wet early evening in NYC. We visited a couple of times during our stay. Friendly, helpful staff serving wonderful food and drinks.

Good selection of beer on tap and very good prices, even more so if you time it right for happy hour, although it can get pretty crowded at those times. Lived just around the corner from here and it was always a steady go to bar to welcome our friends to NY. Food was very reasonably priced and tasted very good. Cosy décor inside and nice ambience. Location is excellent - close to the park to go walk the food off in - or to work up an appetite before heading here. Just far enough away from Times Square not to be jam packed full of tourists. Back in the UK now and miss the place!

Chicken tacos was great. Very nice and cozy place. Reliable prices. Friendly staff. I definitely recommend this place.

Happened by, and glad we stopped in. Drinks, food and service were very good. Shared a nice Mediterranean salad and the lamb burger was outstanding (minus mayo).

From the pre-pandemic reviews I can only surmise that this place has not fully recovered or the chef left. For a nice setting with outside seating and a decent ambience (marred somewhat by blaring a somewhat awkward playlist), this place could do a lot more than struggle to serve an edible burger. Much of the pretty basic food (burgers and wings) we ordered can't be that hard to get right in a place like NYC. But from the food we got, it must be harder than it looks. The burgers were overcooked, bland and sorry. The wings were boring. I'll leave it at that. Within 3 mins of the place there is a McDonald's, Taco Bell, Chick fil a and if you're really in the mood, Shake Shack as well. Just keep walking.

Great food, great music, great atmosphere.... Not much more to say really.... We needed a quick bite to eat and service didn't disappoint!

Friday evening the place was buzzing with a great crowd but we managed to find a table for two after only 5 mins wait. All 3 appetizers we got tasted really good, especially for a bar. Service was excellent.

Found this spot walking back to hotel from Columbus Circle and were delighted that they were playing great Christmas music and the ambiance was loft-like and upscale. They have a few tables in back and high top bar tables along the long bar up front. On weekdays, an enormous after-work crowd assembles there and the noise is so loud you can no longer hear the music but it still felt festive. Appears to be a popular local happy hour spot (although we are tourists and can't confirm). We stopped here twice and had drinks, appetizers and some entrees, nothing disappointed and some were outstanding. The cheese board is awesome! You can choose your cheeses, and it is served with honeycomb and toasted baguette. The sliders with crab cakes were great, as were the steak egg rolls. We didn't love the lobster mac and cheese as well, as it was not done in a rich and cheesy sauce like we've had in other places. They have a good wine list including some prosecco options and the white Cosmo was good too. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this little spot for a drink, snack or casual dinner.

Great stop for lunch or dinner! Great vibe, amazing cocktails and I had the best grilled cheese of my life!

We had lunch here almost by chance: the place is nice, very clean and modern. We got marinated salmon and tuna and a prawn salad with avocado. The food was very fresh and tasty. Service was good, price a little more expensive than NY average, but still affordable.

Great bar tender, wide choice of whiskeys and you can grab a great slider here. Conversation with locals was great and not too far from Times Square if you want to escape

Nice little menu with good tastes! High volume from the DJ and very bar scenic.. But a cool place to go for a night out our a drink after work. The food taste good! I believe its a lot of local people there!

Had cocktails this weekend and the bartender made us feel welcome right when we walked in. Good service, very chill, had tv's to watch the Yankee's game. Didn't try the food, but the pomegranate white cosmo was awesome.

We went here for lunch after a walk in the Central park. The burgers were delicious and the size was just right. Loved the atmosphere!

Walked past many noisy restaurants on 8th Ave until we found the Ivy Bar & Grill. Went in. Greeted immediately and seated across from the bar. Service was quick and friendly. My husband and I both had the lamb burgers. Very good and cooked as ordered. We really enjoyed our experience and will eat there again.

This is a cool spot for drinks, including nice cocktails with house-infused spirits. A good place to stop when in Hell's Kitchen.

Popped in on a Tuesday evening when walking round NYC, we were seated quickly and the servers were friendly. The atmosphere in Ivy's is nice, more of a bar feel with TVs and lively music. They do a great Taco Tuesday (3 tacos and a margarita for $21) while my other half had an enormous burger. Great value for money, especially for central New York.

Went for dinner & drinks before a show & when we arrived it was nearly empty so able to get a window seat when we left it was full. Kale & artichoke dip was yummy to start & lobster mac n cheese & fries to share. Martini's where nice we tried 3 different ones during happy hour.

Fun pub with good food and atmosphere . Reasonable prices for food and happy hour between 4-7pm. Staff were very attentive and friendly .

We popped in for a very late lunch and a cold beer on a steamy afternoon. The atmosphere was great and we were well attended. The beer was refreshingly cold and we ordered 3 plates, I ordered the shrimp and veggie potstickers, which were very tasty. My son and husband ordered the steak and chicken tacos, and both enjoyed their meals. Delicious!

Every time we visit NYC we always visit here and our latest trip did not disappoint-we visited twice. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the staff are extremely helpful and polite. Will be back the next time in NYC

Nice bar with good music and only nice food but I wouldn't go rushing here. Service was poor - despite being very quiet, emphasis seemed to be on the few drinkers at the bar. After a warm welcome, the server had to be reminded to return to our table and take our food order (our table was the only one of a total of 9 occupied) and then our starter was missed from the delivery of food to our table - when said original server was on a break! The first time they checked on our food was when one of us had finished our main meal - so that'll be no additional condiments or check on how our food was then?!?! As I mentioned, overall nice place but service lacking - especially on a quiet day wasn't a good sign. Even our check took a while to arrive - so no tip!

Stopped in after passing by and had lunch. Food was great and so was the service. Decided to come back for happy hour. There were different bartenders working and the service reflected it. So instead of eating dinner there, we left. We then decided to give it one more try late night...and the service was still not good. It's too bad, the place has potential but probably won't try it again.

We went to the Ivy Bar &Grill in the evening. It was noisy (but only people at the bar, very few diners) so went to the back. The light was so dim I had to put on the torch from my phone to read the menu. The menu was limited for a place called a Grill. My husband wanted a salmon burger with rice - they had run out of rice (it was 7pm!) and my husband was disappointed. I ordered a burger and fries. The fries were burnt but the burger was fine. The service was below what we would expect in America (we are English) - the waitress was having a lot of fun dancing but little else. No one said goodbye or any of the usual niceties. And it wasn’t cheap - $80 for 2 burgers and 2 glasses of wine

This was steps from our hotel, and we are tired and hungry after our show. It is a lovely little spot, with a small but enjoyable menu. It felt very local.

We had a late lunch at the Ivy after a long morning/afternoon of apartment hunting. We were very happy to walk into the Ivy - at 2:30 in the afternoon it was calm and had good bar ambience. We bypassed the bar-height tables and sat at a regular table in the back. One of the waitstaff came by promptly to take our drink orders. I ordered one of the beers on tap, my daughter ordered a glass of rose and my wife stuck with soda. The beer (Guinness Blonde) was the right temp and the wine was a decent pour. My wife loved her Mahi Mahi tacos, my daughter inhaled her crabcake sliders and I enjoyed my tortilla burger. The Ivy was a welcome respite and I look forward to a return visit.

This place was our favourite bar to drink and eat, just a few minutes walk from Columbus Circe, great wines and beers, the squid is a must and the chicken wings are excellent, had 5 days in nyc and came here 3 times it was that good, it’s a nice cosy bar dimly lit and the food is amazing, sit at the bar or at table and you won’t be disappointed.

I had a lobster mac and cheese that the server described as very heavy and rich when I asked how it was. I really enjoyed it and would for sure recommend it if you love mac and cheese.

We were here last year and tried finding it again this trip because we loved it so much last time. We entered and the bartender, Courtney, greeted us, we remembered her and she remembered us from last year. Unbelievable food and service. Courtney was truly a great bartender and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to go back.

Dropped into this bar because the chalkboard had a note on it near and dear to my heart. National Margarita Day. How can I argue with logic like that? It was a fine one too. Unfortunately it was up at the price which I must admit is the most I've ever paid. 14.00 USD. I'm not saying I never paid that much, just that I've never paid more. I've been thrown out of nicer places than this! That's just how it is.

We were greeted by a friendly hostess. As soon as we sat down the waitress came to us with menus. She asked if we would like to have a drink or relax a bit first. We ordered a Ivy Martini & a Manhattan. AWESOME! For food we had Fried Brussel Sprouts, Big Bleu Burger, & Chicken Cutlet Sandwich. Great presentation, and the taste was fantastic. If I lived in the area, this would be my "go too" place

We stopped by for a drink and ended up staying for food after seeing other meals coming from the kitchen. Good choice of cocktails and great food. Reasonable prices and good waiting staff who are happy to take the time to answer questions about food and drink menus. Nice place with plenty of seating.

We were looking for a bar after visiting Lincoln Centre and stumbled on The Ivy. Welcomed in by the friendly waitress and advised on the happy hour drinks by the barman. Downed our cocktails and decided to have food as the girls at the next table had just been served theirs. Food and drink excellent as was the service .. nice atmosphere with good music and what is known in USA as football on the telly. Would definitely go back next time we're in NYC.

Popped in for a couple of cheeky ones and decided to book a table later for the rest of the family. Love this place!

Stopped in for happy hour. We had the steak and fish tacos. They did not disappoint. My friend had the Cobb salad. She said it was really good. The waiter, Aitan, was amazing. He was friendly, courteous and attentive. The atmosphere was great as well. I highly recommend this place.!

Great menu and food. Service was a little slow, but it might have been time of day. Love the decor and music.

We were around Columbus Circle with an hour to kill before a tour started and wanted something to eat. Searched Trip Advisor but didn't find anything noteworthy and passed this place while walking by. It seemed quaint and clean and we were immediately greeted and placed our order. We were in the front of the restaurant and a table of 6 left soon after we arrived along with our server. She seemed concentrated on tables in the back and although other employees brought food, we needed to find salt and pepper for our table from the one next door and I sat with an empty glass of no water for over half my meal before another server came by with a carafe to fill it. Our original server showed up in time for the bill, of course! Food was average tasting.

Stopped here for a late lunch. They had the best Moscow mules we had had in a while. Good service and good too. A little dark and hard to read the menu. The ambiance and decor was nice for a bar.

we found this place by accidfent- was a terrfic place for lunch - staff was great , prices very reasonable.

Plan was to go in to Cenral Park with our 7 year olds but wanted a bite first. Wandered around the cirlce for close restaurants, not many options that looked appealing. Noticed Ivy across the street with big open windows. Quick review on Tripadvisor and gave it a shot. Sat at a table by the window for some good people watching. Service was, good, food was very good, good atmosphere.

Clearly, this is a very trendy eatery/bar. Very clean place as well. The food was good, but the focus was clearly more on alcohol service. They were blasting some old-school rap music the night I was there.

Amazing place and consistent.. always great to be here... dined just last night and awsome! Chef is totally tuned into the cuisine and I salute!

I came here with my fiancé after seeing the Christmas tree at Rockafeller center on Saturday. We walked and walked trying to find a romantic, cozy place. The Ivy was everything we needed. Will be back!

We stopped in around 11 PM after seeing a Broadway show. The food was delicious, and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. It's kind of pricey for pub food, but that's not unusual in this neighborhood. I will definitely seek this place out again next time we visit the city.

Food was ok. Very loud inside but filled with locals. Hard to speak across the table with all the noise. Sport on lots of TVs so that is a bonus.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to stay longer so we just had one drink- cocktail and it was perfect and delicious, also the atmosphere were great and staff very nice and helped to decide which drink is the best for us.

Stopped into Ivy for an early lunch (we were the first hungry customers around 11:30 on a Thursday) and glad we did. The vibe is super hip and my teenage son informed me that the music they were playing was the newest pop selections. I'm a mom and I don't know these things although in true motherly form I did register that the music was a tad loud for lunchtime - truly my only teeny tiny complaint. I had the mahi tacos which I was a bit wary about ordering in NY in March, but they rivaled any fish tacos I have tried back home in Florida. The aioli sauce was delicious. My son had the chicken and waffles which he ranked a 9 which is off the charts for a picky teenager. The waitress was friendly and attentive and kept our drinks refilled which was a bit of challenge as the drink glasses were silly small for sodas. No wonder she is so thin! Okay, so maybe there is one more teeny tiny complaint, they could use more generous soda glasses. Certainly not a deterrent for enjoying this tasty restaurant.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. DELICIOUS food! The prices were reasonable. Mostly Bar height chairs/stools and tables, but normal height tables are available but limited. We had planned on going somewhere else, but, when we were standing in line for a show, some people we were talking to said they had gone there, and loved it. We ordered the Boston Lettuce salad ($11) with chicken (add$4) and pear dressing & the Portobello Reuben sandwich ($14). The sandwich was generous, delicate, and absolutely amazing. The salad was fresh and tender. The chicken they put on it was cooked to perfection. This homemade dressing was incredible. It was filling & fabulous. I plan on eating there a lot. This is a solid 5 STAR RESTAURANT, and then some. If you find this to be helpful, click below, to let us know.

Wow fabulous bar, restaurant and service! The owner, Jeff is so lovely and attentive, you couldn’t wish for a warmer welcome! Both myself and Gary would absolutely recommend this bar for the fantastic atmosphere and the food is superb and such god value for money. We’ve spent 5 nights in NYC, 3 of them eating here. Thanks Jeff! Bev and Gary!

decided to try this bar out before a visit to the theatre as it had been listed amongst the best happy hour bars in NY. Happy hour drinks were great - $5 beers, $6 wine and $7 cocktails (I can thoroughly recommend the white cosmo!). Also tried a bar snack - sliders with fries which were also very good. Bar staff were great and very engaging. Its a very popular bar and I can see why. Highly recommend.

We were just walking down the street and wanted to get a quick bite and a drink. The service was great. We initially ordered our drinks but then the waitress realized that Happy Hour had just started and pointed out the better deals. Her recommendations were great. The food was very good and we really enjoyed ourselves. All the staff was excellent!

Visited as looked like our kind of restaurant. We were not disappointed. Chicken tacos were very nice with spicy tomatoes. Chicken sandwich with avocado with chips was fab. Chicken with beans was delish. Wine was as much as three meals so be careful but was very good. Definitely worth a visit.

I've been to every Ivy in every city but the dish I like and crave the most is simple, corn chowder. I'd pay to learn how this restaurant keeps quality control up at so many locations. Other favorites are the meat loaf. For a high end restaurant the simple dishes are the stand outs. My kids loved a

Ivy has a very upbeat feeling. Staff are very friendly. Good music choices. Menu with adequate college fare.

Well priced tasty food. Great staff, couldn't ask for any more for quick lunch. Just off of the top of Broadway. Can get busy.

Nice friendly staff, romantic but terrible food. Even simple vegi burger, soft drinks with no gas and tasteless. I dont recomend it at all

It's been two weeks and still dreaming about the calamari and cheddar burger. Food was fantastic and ambience was nice to sit up front with windows open. Server was very kind and helpful with helping us decide. Highly recommend!

Wandering around in the cold rain before a Saturday matinee we happened on the Ivy Bar and Grill and were so happy we found it. The bartender made a perfect Hot Toddy which was delicious and balanced and warmed us right up. For lunch we had the most delicious housemade salmon burgers I think we've ever eaten. The service was warm and friendly and welcoming. What a great bar and grill!!!

There aren’t too many places that actually sell Pappy Van Winkle a highly allocated bourbon, so this was exciting for my husband who is a huge fan. Also interesting, fried Brussels sprouts!

My wife and I visited Ivy after a show since it was open late so we decided to grab a drink and some quick bar food. The bar was pretty open when we walked in so we grabbed a seat in the middle of the bar. We were greeted right away and we ordered a glass of cabernet and a Moscow Mule. The wine was fine and the Moscow Mule was just ok. We were told from the female bartender that the kitchen was going to close in about an hour so if we wanted food, we should order soon. After that, she left to go eat at a table. The other bartender (male) came by and took our food order. We ordered the Tuna Tartar, the Steak egg rolls, and a chicken quesadilla. The food was delicious overall and I would recommend that. Unfortunately, after we received our food, that was the end of our service. The bartenders kept hanging out on the one side of the bar where their friends or regulars were. We had empty drinks for a good chunk of time and it was unfortunate because we would have stayed longer. When the male bartender finally checked on us again, I asked for the check and so he sent the female bartender over and she asked if everything was ok. I told her that we wanted the check since we were essentially forgotten of, so we got our check and left. I have been here before for a party and the place was great. This is my first time coming in to try the bar in a non-event time and unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. I will most likely try this place again since it's open late and has great food, but until then, it left me disappointed.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch near Central Park, and found Ivy. Good selection of beers for a small place. Had good happy hour specials, but we were too early. I got a grilled brie and avocado sandwich. It was a "grown-up" grilled cheese, with peach chutney, and it was delicious. My husband got a trio of sliders, with fries. they were different --one was a chicken and waffle slider. He enjoyed them. We sat at the open windows in front, good people watching spot! It was clean and friendly. A nice lunch at reasonable prices.

I came by with my father for few drinks. Beer was good, facility looked nice(it was evening) plenty of people in. Service was fast and friendly. Burger was great. Maybe little too pricey place.

A friend and I dropped into the Ivy on our first evening in NYC, and enjoyed it so much that we returned for lunch just a couple of days later. A diverse and delicious food menu, and a diverse and delicious drink menu always left us having trouble deciding what to order. However, we were never disappointed with our choices, and ate two delicious meals and drank many delicious drinks. The staff were also wonderful! A great way to spend an evening in NYC - highly recommend to anyone!

We happened into Ivy's, looking for lunch after walking back from the F A O Schwartz. on 5th Avenue & 58th Street. It was a 90+ degree day, and we were parched, and looking to get out of the heat, drink something refreshing, and grab a decent meal ... and Ivy's obliged us on all accounts! Guinness and a burger for me, and pulled pork sliders and a tall, iced, ginger ale for my wife...yeah!!! Everything was wonderful, and the sliders, especially, were extraordinary!! A waitress from Ireland, working summers in NYC, was very pleasant/charming, and represented the restaurant (Bar & Grill, actually) splendidly! And finally, and atypical for a bar (in my opinion, anyway) the restrooms were NOT dingy, dark, and dirty, but rather attractive, well-lit, and EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN, surprise, surprise!! A great little spot, and not to be missed if you are anywhere near this wonderful pub!

We stopped on our way to Central Park at Ivy’s for a quick lunch. The food was nice and the service quick.

Very friendly helpful staff ... Only had drinks but had a great atmosphere 😀... Felt at home and not out of place..... Will definitely come back for food

We only had wine and cheese so it's hard to give an excellent. The cheese platter was close to perfect, my selections may have been off. Soft blue cheese was not "soft", still quite good. Honey comb was an awesome addition. Wine was great and reasonably priced. Service was wonderful, ambiance perfect.

Great find for our first night in New York.Seemed to be a popular choice with locals, busy Friday night with a great atmosphere and fab food too. We had a variety of burgers and steaks all cooked really well & great service. Definitely recommend for a true New York bar experience

We had a very nice experience at Ivy. My son and I went with smaller offerings, like the slider trio and mac bites. Menu had lots of tasty looking offerings. Some great local beers and old standards. Service was personal and friendly. A few short delays, but the place was pretty busy. Food was good, location awesome, nice crowd. Definitely will go back. If you're around Midtown or Hell's Kitchen, this place is very handy and well worth a visit.

With my gf for 2 quiet drinks and he put the final bill infront of us w/o our request (getting pushed out way b4 closing hour). Paid bill while starting our 2nd drink & cut our conversation short demanding an extra tip that was already paid in an arrogant manner. Left the drinks half full and proceeded out of the bar. It was our last night in NY..

Me and my partner came here and had dinner. The service was really good and friendly and the food was lovely. Especially the shrimp tacos!

A modest typical bar upfront is a nice cover for a long railroad car restaurant that then opens up in the back. On a hot weekday in April, it was relatively quiet and the menu is full of what you might expect--salads, burgers etc--from a midtown bar/restaurant. Good for a casual meeting...expect to see some magazine industry folks because of its location.

We were looking for something near 48th and 8th where we had show tickets, and this looked convenient. We were more than satisfied with location (on 8th Ave next to McDonalds), the ambience (nice decor, music not too loud), and the food. I had a goo chopped salad and a happy hour martini for $19. My friends had a burger and a grilled cheese. Looked good. Place is more upscale than it sounds. Too many tvs , but sound off.

An absolute must place to eat. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.the place offers a great atmosphere and the food was DELICIOUS. Highly recommended. The next time we visit NYC we will definitely be coming here again.

Great location and decor... Once we were seated we waited forever for a server even though the place was half empty. The menu looked great but the food was very average. Order a strip steak medium with a baked potato. The steak was good but over cooked and the baked potato was dry and barely had a little drop of sour cream. The server didn't offer any other drinks or ask if we needed anything. We waited forever for the check. The place has potential but definitely needs better service for starters.

Ivy is a gem of a restaurant on 8th Avenue with great Happy Hour pricing for martini's, beer and wine. There were six of us and we all got different things. The flatbread pizza was great! The lobster tacos appetizer was good, but could have a few more! All in all, we thought it was good value for the money and would recommend it. It was a bit loud with a very long bar and we sat away from the noise levels, but still tough to talk.

I have never heard of this restaurant, but apparently it seems to be well known. I had no expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The vibe is extremely casual, so I was definitely overdressed (even though it was Christmas Eve). The waiter was very nice and we had prepaid for the meal, including tip. The food was very good - we had shrimp appetizer and a citrus based Radicchio salad. We both chose to have the Branzino with mushrooms. Most restaurants do not have enough dressing on the salad, not at this restaurant - everything was seasoned to perfection. The Branzino had a wonderful crust on one side light and was flaky inside, Dessert was a flan and a smores kit with a little fire pit at the table. The wine list was short and expensive and not that good - but the food more than made up for the lack of better wine. The restaurant had a jazz band that was supposed to start at 7 pm, which is why we chose this restaurant but by 7:35 pm, there was still no music so I asked the waiter if the band was going to play because the playlist was strange, it was hip hop and James Brown, which did not fit the vibe at all! The band started playing around 10 minutes after I spoke to the waiter. The band was very good and everyone was having a great time singing along with them. The band then introduced two famous Argentine tango dancers and they performed a few times - they were amazing! It was such a treat to have the music and the dancers, The price was beyond reasonable - the entire dinner was $67 pp, which is unheard of in NYC.

Was walking past this place and thought it looked cool. Went in for dinner the night after and had a great meal. Food and Drinks were reasonably priced. The bar has a downstairs bar as well but didn't check it out.

We're local and wanted a place to meet for drinks near Columbus Circle before jumping on the train to Yankee Stadium. We were so pleased to find Ivy. Drinks are good, great beer selection and the food was tasty. Happy hour is a good deal. Best is the atmosphere. If you don't want lively and local, this is not for you. But if you want a NewYork moment, don't miss Ivy.

We just stopped in for lunch and we had excellent service and the food was wonderful. We both had a chicken sandwich.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I only had cocktails, so I can't speak on the food. It was a really cute place, bartender was very friendly, and all 3 specialty cocktails I had were delicious.

On a recent visit with my daughter in New York, we stopped off for dinner at the Ivy Bar. Very, very noisy. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was tasty ... I enjoyed the Mahi Tacos and my daughter her Tuna Tartare. Great cocktails.

Ate here on a Sunday evening. Wasn't busy which was surprising as it has a good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Food is plentiful and tasty but not overly exciting. Had calamari to start and pork sliders as a main. Even when leaving the 3 rolls the pork came in there was still enough to fill me up. The Ivy is in the Hell's Kitchen area which is less expensive and quieter than Times Square and worth checking out.

I come to New York to visit often. I'm always looking for restaurants with great food and service. Ivy far surpassing my expectations. The food was awesome and the service was fantastic. I would recommend Ivy to everyone!! Perfect stop on a perfect day!!

We went here for dinner on New Year's Eve. Really enjoyed the food, thought the prices were fair, the service was friendly but a bit slow/inattentive (ie we saw our waitress standing around chatting to the other staff rather than checking to see if our meals were ok or refilling our water without us having to ask), which was the only reason we didn't give it 5 stars. We recommend it, though.

We lucked into a quick meal hear at this cozily lit, cute bar. No backs on any chairs or stools, and they served very good bar food. I had a grilled cheese which wasn't exactly gourmet as described, but was very tasty, and there were lots of choices for beer on tap. Very good service-- would recommend.

$17 was absolutely wonderful. Believe it not there were some crumbled taco chips on top. Cannot wait to return. Place is very pretty. Our server, Shannon was amazing. We were walking along, pre-theatre, looking for someplace new to eat. What a find! Yum!

Not many choices food wise, but delicious. The service is pretty solid, our server and or the manager came by to ask if we need everything else every 10 minutes. The atmosphere is awesome... Sports bar after all.

Stopped here after a show for a night cap. The Smokey whiskey sour was fantastic. We then decided to stay a bit longer and enjoyed the bourbon special. Ralph was an attentive and fantastic bar tender.

This little gem in the heart of NYC had great prices and superior customer service. I had a the specialty cosmo (or 2) and our bar service was fantastic. Couldn't find a better deal in the city! We then had dinner which was fairly good. I had the steak sandwich which was a little tough. The kale chips were also good. I would certainly come back for happy hour!!
Great looking place
Several of us went in for drinks. A very inattentive bartender messed up 3 of the 5 drinks, asked for water 3 times before we got it and took 10 minutes to get the bill. The food looked good however.
