Mehhh at best

By J M |

Ate here 3 times since it was in front of my hotel. The only decent thing was the breakfast other than that I wouldnt recommend it. Had the brisket and it taste it like old ARMY food, terrible. Tuna salad sandwich, terrible and the prices are pretty high for the low end food they put out.

Excellent Service Good Food Especially Dessert

By jazgirl1 |

Went to the city on a whim to see a show and have lunch. Made sure we got to Jrs before noon. A little wait 10 min which was fine. We could have sat outside with no wait (it was last day in November and nearly 60 degrees that day) but decided to sit indoors. The service is great even when they are packed to the gills. It was Wed matinee day so If you want to get to your show on time be there early. Sandwiches were huge and tasty. Pickles and cole slaw included. The cheesecake is to die for. My son and I shared the chocalate mousse cheesecake and it was a generous slice and plenty for the two of us. You can always take out here if you want just a slice or a whole cake from the two take out locations on either side of the restaurant. Prices are not bad for Manhattan as well.

Great service, great food

By SuziB310 |

We had a great meal here. Our waitress, Julia was top notch. I can't say enoug good things about her. She is the epitome of great customer service. She even brought me extra pickles w/o me having to ask just based on our conversation with her. She shook our hands when we left and was very attentive. I'd give more stars for her if I could!

This is a must stop when in the city!

By Gregg Neavin |

Was going to have lunch here, but I couldn't wait that long. The corned beef omelet had the fluffiest eggs I've ever eaten. To top off the experience, Denisse was an excellent and friendly server!

Try the Cheesecake

By scottsJ3414CK |

Great cheesecake. Best Grilled Cheese sandwich and french fries. I hear they are just as famous for the fries as they are the cheesecake. If it is in season the pumpkin cheesecake is awesome. ask for some whip cream on the top!

Cheese Cake

By hensghan |

I am rating this restaurant five stars based solely on one particular item: their CHEESE CAKE. Since cheese cake was all that we ordered and enjoyed on our recent visit I cannot comment on anything else. But I do want to comment on their cheese cake -- it is fabulous both in texture and taste, and very reasonably priced. In fact, after posting this review I'll be checking their web site to see if they deliver outside the New York area.

Good Food

By 123vanessa650 |

Been to NY many times and can' wait to get back. Was there March 13,2015 with two of my girlfrienda and they just loved the BiG JUICEY hamburgers..... Don't forget about delicious cheesecake mmmmmmm. I brought my kids back last year and as always it was very good......Oh you don't forget about breakfast delicious too, with so large cup of coffee When in the BIG APPLE you must stop at JR'S Vanessa B New Orleans, La

Amazing Cheesecake!

By Dktuck |

I'm so glad we tried the cheesecake. It was amazing. We loved it so much we got more for breakfast the next morning before leaving NYC!

Great service, super busy after the shows

By Kaitlin R |

I would avoid this place about an hour before shows and for a while after the shows let out. While we didn't have to wait too long it was kind of crazy and the waiting area was super crowded. That being said, the service was great and the food was pretty good, definitely more expensive than I thought it would be, but makes sense for a place close to the theatres and times square. Cheesecake was amazing, and so was the black & white cookie... I wish I had gotten a few more of them to go!

Wonderful restuarant!

By Becky H |

We chose this as our breakfast restaurant of choice for our recent stay in NYC.....although only using it for breakfast it was open all day and was a cheesecake specialist to boot! We found the wait to get in...non-existant :) The service was fast friendly and excellent...the menu was varied and choices were good and for the centre of Manhattan were reasonably priced. Food when it came was hot and a large portion....all in all would recommend this place highly!

A Franchised Diner Experience

By Ghostwalker72 |

We went for breakfast and not cheesecake. I didn't find it much different than a Denny's. Overpriced, average breakfast. Long lineup.

CHEESECAKE!!!

By Tamus74 |

If you haven't tried it yet you must go!! When in NY we always stop by. It is usually a bit of a wait but well worth it. We like to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of the big city. Staff was great and the food was excellent but the best part of all is the CHEESCAKE!! Make sure to save room. My favorite is the carrot cake cheesecake and the slices are huge. My cousin purchased one of their cookbooks and wow, you would swear it came straight from JRs.(funny thing is my cousins name is JR). Give it a try. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Cheers!

Juniors is Greatttt!!!

By tulix3 |

The Food at juniors fit the saying of "comfort food". The food is great, fairly priced, with a great team that runs the place. Our server was great our host was amazing too and it was overall just a great vibe.

Ok Food but close to the hotel

By travlin0207 |

We were looking for something to eat after the theater and found Juniors. There was a 45 minute wait at 11:30pm. We ordered a hot dog, a burger and cheesecake. Everything was average except the cheesecake.

Great staff and delicious food!

By 742hope |

Although Junior's is known for cheesecake, we think their staff makes them noteworthy! We highly recommend the cole slaw, burgers, onion rings, pickles, and key lime cheesecake.

Best

By JennyCTx |

Excellent food and of course the best cheesecake in NYC! A must for tourist if you want authentic NY cheesecake

CHEESECAKE IS OVERRATED

By RuSaBu |

We stopped in for a piece of their "famous" cheesecake and were sorely disappointed with our choice. The "fresh strawberry" cheesecake may have fresh strawberries, but they're so buried in the goopy gelatin that they're tough to dig out. We could have had the same experience by thawing out a piece from Sam's Club.

Best Breakfast we had

By stevie williams |

We struggled with breakfast until we found this place and I wish we had have found it sooner, french toast with bacon is totally amazing, ill be visiting this more often when we go back lol.

BEST EVER CHEESECAKE

By Sheila A |

I'm a bit of a cheesecake fanatic and this by far was the most AMAZING cheesecake I've ever had. It is well worth the stop. It is right near times square. The staff was very friendly. The other food look crazy amazing too. Definitely will make a special trip everytime I'm in NYC.

Great food!

By Bijon W |

Had the egg salad BLT and it was delicious! I also had the ginger wings and they were delicious as well. Really wanted to go there for breakfast but got there too late.

A divey joint with terrible service and mediocre food.

A divey joint with terrible service and mediocre food.

Awesome cheesecake!

By dborden26 |

We stopped really quick to get some new York style cheesecake. There is an entrance to the restaurant and a small spot to order some desserts togo/ eat outside (which is what we did) they have lots of different choices of cheesecake by the slice and for a whole. Also some black and white cookies, ruglach, and a few other desserts. We got a apple crumb cheesecake it and was really good! The only downside was that it was super cold, almost frozen. But tasted like apple crumb pie and cheesecake together!

No service

By Parides7 |

The website says breakfast until 10:45am. We ran there to be there at 10:30am and we were told by a very rude staff at reception that breakfast is over and they're only serving lunch now. Not good, will not go there again. Looks like they do not rely on any new customers.

Home away from home!

By Anna M |

Each time I visit NYC, I visit Juniors! It has become a firm favourite. The food is always great, the staff are always friendly and accommodating. And their famous cheesecake - IT IS DIVINE!

Great dinner before a show

By TFG_Maryland |

My kids really like to eat here before a show. It is in a great location by the Marriott Marquis. There is food for everyone! The cheesecake is a must have.

Good food, cramped quarters!

By Joe G |

This is a typical JR restaurant located in the lower level concourse of Grand Central Station New York City. Be prepared for quick service, and be willing to eat on small tables close to others. If you are all right with this, you will have a good meal. Ask for extra napkins, and you might want to use hand sanitizer before putting food in your mouth with your fingers.

Fun Diner in Theater District

By Anna B |

My family had such a fun night at Junior's on our first night in NYC. It was really crowded, but that added to the excitement of the diner. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was fantastic, especially their corned beef and pastrami. The cheesecake is amazing! We would definitely recommend a stop at Junior's!

Fun patio for after a show

By Stv50 |

We liked this place so much for dinner we went back for desert on a different night. Serving are large, i had to use a knife and fork to eat my chicken burger. The onion rings were huge and heavy, not the best i have had.

Review of breakfast

By Gchandkeh |

The breakfast was quite good. We shared a big breakfast and a bowl of oatmeal. Pancakes bacon turkey sausage eggs and wheat toast. Would definitely go back for more.

Get your just desserts here!

By Candy M |

I am sure that everyone knows about this restaurant...but we are from TX and just stumbled on it while on our way to the theater. I was so impressed by the bakery! TIP: if you don't mind eating outside...don't wait in line at the main entrance...go on past the crowd waiting to be seated and go to the back through the RED CURTAIN and order your meal there and then just have it on the covered eating area! SNEAKY!

Expensive for diner food, but definitely go for the cheesecake

By rdcifuen |

Usual diner menu, and everything basically ok - overpriced, but heck, it's Times Square. Don't guess there's many really good deals around here anyway. But their calling card is the huge varieties of cheesecake that truly are good.

Yummy!!

By Angela M |

Excellent service and delicious food!! Fair prices too! Who could ask for anything more! I loved the food and the ambience!! I was there for breakfast and didn't get to eat a piece of cheesecake though.. All the more reason to go back!!!

Our favorite spot!

By David G |

This restaurant is simply the best! The food is hot and delicious. The portions are bigger than most places. The absolute must have is the cheesecake. Whether you're a classic cheesecake fan or you variety, there's a flavor for you. My personal favorite is the carrot cake cheesecake. A word of advice, please practice some patience. This is a very popular spot and there's usually a 15-25" wait for two. Trust me, it's worth the wait. Best time to go for breakfast is before 9, lunch is usually a gamble and dinner, well that depends on your dinner time. I prefer to eat between 730 and 9pm. That's when most of the travelers are attending a broadway show. This is a must go-to when in NYC.

Good but not great

By Myron C |

Kids burgers were really big. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was big and good bit expensive. I had a burger at a local diner that was just as big and good for half the price.

Don't serve breakfast after 10:45am

By Angela S |

I was very disappointed that I couldn't order breakfast at 11am in the morning. The waiter just said that it doesn't fit the business model to serve breakfast after 10:45am. That makes no sense, pancakes and eggs are some of the cheapest items to serve at a restaurant. In a city that never sleeps and surrounded by stores that you can shop until you drop at 2am, waking up early sometimes doesn't happen. Other places have started serving breakfast all day and have been extremely successful (McDonald's)

Fantastic breakfast! Try the french toast!

By Jackie W |

Delicious breakfast at Juniors -- I got the french toast which is dredged in Cornflakes. It was delicious -- just a little crispy on the outside. Hmmm, I might have to try that at home! Anyway, they give you a little plate of pastries and their deli mustard is great so I bought a jar of it to bring home. Can't beat it! Plenty of seating and great friendly service!

Yummy

By Jacqueline S |

Will definitely come here again. Food was great, service was good. Wide variety of choices on the menu. Well priced and big portions, you could definitely share. Cute atmosphere.

Dinner After Broadway

By SoozClues |

It's packed but they move quickly. Service is efficient and friendly. Large portions. I could barely finish my delectable cheeseburger with pastrami. Thumbs up on the wings and the strawberry shortcake also.

Didn't live up to the hype

By afroblair |

Visited here with my girlfriend to pick up some of the supposedly famous cheesecake to try. My girlfriend suffers from Coeliac's, and we were advised which cheesecake was gluten-free. After eating it her symptoms flared up, so I would recommend the restaurant either look into how carefully they manage cross contamination, or train their staff to have a bit more knowledge of the subject. The 'normal' cheesecake was also average, and I can't understand the hype. Disappointing overall.

Lots of choices and lots of food

By Cathi B |

Stopped here a couple times - really fun and good food!! Was too hot to eat outside but inside was air conditioned and nice - was great to have that option as usually like eating outside to watch the people go by!!

The Cheese Cake is totally worth it!

By Pamela C |

I seen Juniors on Bizarre Foods and new if I ever make it to NYC, I would have to try it! It was worth it. A little bit heavier and thicker than what I'm use to but very good! The food around me looked awesome. Wanted to come back here for lunch but was too far away from it by lunch time.

Yum-a-licious

By 256terryp |

The food is excellent, and the wait staff so professional. Excellent atmosphere, and you may even see a star or two enjoying their food. Staff is friendly, prompt, and the restaurant is always BUSY, but, they handle all situations with ease

Perfect end to the evening

By Scarlet P |

We went to JR's for dinner after arriving for a writer's conference. There is always a wait, but the food is worth it. Oh my goodness the Chicken Salad was wonderful. We went back a second night and the cheeseburger and fries was awesome. I had enough left for dinner the next evening! And don't get me started about the cheesecake! OMG! So good

Great food, great service, great staff

By GPrudhoe |

We come here on our first night in New York after a long day travelling. As soon as we walked in the door the staff were really polite, friendly and seemed genuinely interested when making small talk. We ordered our food and drinks and sat chatting away. About 10 minutes later the waiter come back over and said he's just going to check where our food was. Five or so minutes later the manager come over and apologised because our food order hasn't been put through (miscommunication between staff). Another five or so minutes the food turned up and it was worth the wait. The chips (fries) were tasty, crunchy and fluffy inside. The burger was massive, tasted lovely and was cooked perfectly. The manager returned after we'd eaten and asked if we would like any desserts on the house. Unfortunately we were too full (they looked delicious) so he said he'd remove a couple of dishes from the bill. When the bill came he'd removed all the meals and only charged us for our drinks. Like I said previously, the wait didn't even seem particularly long to us but the service we received means next time we're looking for somewhere to eat, Juniors will be up at the top of our list and will be recommended to friends/family I know will be visiting in future.

Great late nite food

By Michael M |

Dinner after Broadway show. Great service with good food. Ate with good friends all food was reasonably priced.

Mid-Afternoon Lunch

By morarab |

Usually go to Junior's for an after theatre snack (namely cheesecake), but had been out walking and decided to go for a late lunch. My daughter and I shared a combo reuben sandwich with a side a fries. The pastrami/corned beef reuben was supurb, with a side of crisp slaw and heavenly sour dill pickles. The fries were fresh, hot and tasty. My granddaughter had the chocolate swirl cheesecake, which was great, as always.

Not impressed with the cheesecake

By sendmehome |

OK, so you're in NYC and you want to get original cheesecake so you are told to go to juniors. Well maybe others have a different idea of what they want cheesecake to be, but this was very dense and just not too cheesy or flavorful. I ordered mine with fresh strawberries. Again not sure what you might expect, but I did not expect fresh strawberries plopped in a bed of thick, I mean gelatinous, sickly sweet strawberry sauce. The portions are large and too rich to finish. The wait staff was attentive. They do have outside seating where you can watch the throng of folks in Times Square. It wasn't awful, just not nearly as great as expected.

Cheesecake

By RyanC359 |

Awesome cheesecake. Wish we hadn't ate dinner before we came as all the food looked excellent but we didn't have room for full meals.

Great Place for Breakfast

By Flossieo56 |

We never heard of this place until the concierge in our hotel told us about it. Our server, Jose, who really works hard here, was a doll. Sorry we didn't go 2 days in a row but as we only get a chance to go to NY every 5 or 6 years, we just wanted to try someplace different. Sorry we didn't go here the second morning. I heard their cheesecake is magnificent.

Good cheese cake but that's about it

By Paul1478 |

When going to NY for a special event my wife and I met a friend at JR's, our friend having suggested it. My wife read other reviews about how much food you got and the great prices. That was far from the truth. I grew up in New York City myself and moved away several years ago but never remember going to a restaurant and paid so much for so little. The average sandwich is twice the price at comparable places for the same amount of food, in some ways less food and same quality as at other restaurants. If you do go the only thing I recommend is the cheese cake. It was really the only thing we had that was worth the price.

Mediocre IMHO

By Colin K |

This place is well suited to families with children but if good food is what floats your boat there are so many other places to eat where the quality is far superior

The NYC cheesecake!!!

By Alexandre_RJ |

Delicious snacks and the best cheesecake in NY! Ask the Devil's Food. It should be called Divine's Food!

Strawberry cheesecake and Devils Food

By Nikki F |

Wish we got a whole cheesecake, but there was only two of us. The cheesecake was the perfect texture. Slightly firm with a lot of cheesecake goodness! The line moved quite quickly but the restaurant was PACKED!

Maybe I should not have sat at the bar this time.

By MarkW |

I saw several open spaces at the bar and rather than wait on a table, decided to grab one of them. I gave a guy my drink order and I knew exactly what I wanted my food order to be because I have dined here so many times. He brought a glass of ice and sit it down but never brought the canned Dr. Brown Black Cherry drink I ordered. He just disappeared. I waited and waited, while several other people were seated at the bar around me who had other servers who got their drinks to them. So, finally, I asked one of the other servers if he could bring me my drink. He did. Then I sat there as the complimentary sides were brought to those around me, but not me. I finally asked for them from someone else. After a while, the turkey dinner I ordered came out. No one very checked back with me. I still don't know what happened to the guy who took my initial order. And if he left, he must not have told anyone about me. According to my receipt, my server's name was "017 Robert R." The date and time on my receipt is March 27 @ 1:48PM. I have always liked this place. The enjoyed the food still, but the service was terrible on March 27 at the bar. So, the average rating.

Lives up to the hype

By Cynthia L |

We ate here on New Years Eve for lunch. They had a normal-everyday menu--not an over-priced holiday menu with the same items. They have a very large menu. It took a long time to decide among all the items. Once we received our food, I could not believe how large the portions were. We also ordered a cheesecake to take back to our room for the evening. I am so glad that we went there.

Be sure to eat here when you are in the theater district!

By WonderfulCopenhagen |

This restaurant is a must experience for those of us who are visiting the theater district. The chopped chicken liver sandwich was praised as being moist, and the Kosher salami sandwich was the best I've eaten. The cheesecake was great (as always). The service was quick and attentive but waiting time was overly-long (about 20 minutes). There's a real hum in the air. The decor is bright and fun.

Junior's @ the "Heart of the Apple", Times Square

By Diana S |

Food delicious, close to the hussle and bustle of New York. Love stopping by this restaurant after a good dance workout.

Best cheesecake!

By ArtHinojos214 |

Recommended by a friend....we stopped by just for some cheesecake and what a treat! Waited in line for a bit but it was well worth it.

good cheat food!

By LivActually |

fabulous milkshakes, grilled cheese and breakfast foods! My dad takes me to Juniors every time I visit and I always enjoy it! Very nice decor, very yankee themed coming from a British person! Love it

best cheesecake EVER!!!!

By amber s |

so happy i was told i must go to jr's! glad i listened! everything is delicious and they have something for everyone! but you must get the cheesecake! they have alot of choices which can be overwhelming, but i got the traditional strawberry cheesecake and it was divine! the only downfall was i got it to go and i had to share with my fiance! :) matzo ball was yummy too! enjoy!

Junior’s Restaurant

By Exptraveler2013 |

Stopped in after a day in the city for deli sandwiches, burgers and beer. The deli sandwiches were fine but the burger was so dry and over cooked it looked like an old rubber tire. I was sick all night afterward. Didn’t try the cheesecake but it did look good..their cheesecake is what they are famous for. They have a bakery right next to the restaurant where you can buy goodies to go. Service was slow and several mistakes were made with our order. Will not return.

Convenient location for after Theatre Dinner

By MarkW |

Went with a party of 5 last night after seeing "The Lion King" showing at a theatre next door. I have been to JR many times. I like their complimentary cole slaw, pickles, and beets. Service was very good last night. All of our entrees, including my turkey dinner, was excellent. My friend loves their Thai Chicken Wings. I had the Carrot cake for dessert and it was very good. My friends said that their cheesecake was good as well. This place can be very crowded at the entrance after a show with people pressing and shoving to get to the host stand, with not much room for all the people to wait for their table. Wait times aren't that bad, usually 15 mins, but prepared to be uncomfortable until you are seated. If you can get past this, you will be pleased with the rest of your experience here.

Excellent breakfast

By egadabput |

A good breakfast place. Very popular with tourists. A bit pricey but makes up in volume of food. Famous for their cheesecake.

The food is good, but the cheesecake is better!

By Gozo07 |

The food is good, with good portions. The service is always good as well. But of course, it is the place to really go for a great piece of cheesecake. If you are in the area, and love cheesecake, you should not miss this place.

Great Family restaurant in Theatre District!

By jadmvd48 |

Best Matzo Ball soup anywhere! Superb burgers cooked to order and served by an outstanding Staff notwithstanding being crowded. Greek salad to share is excellent!

Great cheese cake

By laverne_10 |

This was the first time i visited the Time Square location and the Cheese Cake was as good as the Brooklyn Store. My kids said the cupcakes were quite good as cup cake eaters. Jr. has always been known for their dessert and we enjoyed our visit!

It was Excellent all the way around!

By MarkW |

I was seated promptly. I had a wonderful server. Food came out fast and it was hot and delicious. I opted for the Turkey dinner that comes with dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, gray, and cranberry sauce. It was all excellent! For dessert I had a sundae. I like the complimentary slaw, beets, and pickles that are provided. This is one of my favorite places in the Times Square area to eat. They have a very varied menu and everything I have ever ordered here has been good.

The place to go for the 24 Breakfast. Followed with cheesecake made for the gods!

By Naash1a |

Fun atmosphere. Priced Well. Amazing Cheesecake! Great location for before or after a night at the theatre!

Famous Cheesecak!

By claudiamS8775NI |

This is a reasonably priced restaurant by NY standards. Food is ok and they served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fun to try the different desserts.

Juniors Restaurant

By Me-Me52 |

Stopped at Juniors while walking and ate brunch there. I had bacon and eggs and hubby had sausage and eggs. Great quick restaurant!

Huge portions, great service

By NikkiO255 |

Just wish we found this place much sooner instead of our last day, but what a place to have our last new york lunch and cheesecake! Cant wait to come back, first on my list next time

Cake is better then the breakfast

By Amy |

Came here for pudding after dinner one night and no kidding the cheesecake slice was as big as my head.. Hahaha was amazing tho (red velvet cheesecake) couldn't finish it all as I was sooooo stuffed wasn't cheap tho me and my friend only had cake no drinks and it was over $20 Came for breakfast a few days later and I didn't enjoy it at all.. They don't offer pancakes or waffles so had the omelette and it was ok.. Had musher better food elsewhere

Cheesecake Central

By Jim S |

Had to order a few cheesecakes to go. Our favorite was the NYC Original with Blueberries. Look for their locations in Times Square

Great desserts

By BeachfunMissouri |

If you are going to be ther a few nights, you might want to get a piece of cake, we ate from ours all three nights so, the $7.95 a slice doesn’t seem so bad. The chocolate fudge cake was amazing and if you like cheesecake, they have a chocolate fudge cheesecake that my husband got and love it

Juniors

By pizz-11 |

I go too New York twiice a year . juniors is a must plkave for me too eat , there is always a crowd for breakfast lunch or dinner . but they get you in and out fast. the service and price does not break your budget.the food and service is fantastic

BEST cheescake!!

By KristenPerez |

Great place to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fast and friendly service with no waiting time. Cheesecake is out of this world!!

Great food and Great service!

By MarkW |

I usually like a table and don't sit at the bar, but did this time since they were so busy and I was dining alone. Service at the bar was great. I had their turkey dinner and it was perfect. Prices here are excellent too. You can't go wrong here. Good for families too. Try the raspberry swirl cheesecake, if you like cheesecake, as theirs is the best!

Great Food Anyone?

By Thomas D |

You have to plan for this visit. We went on a Friday night around 6:30pm and waited an hour for a table. No worries, we did not understand it was in the Theater District and the shows start around 8pm, so very busy, not the restaurants fault. But... We were only going for appetizers and dessert, we ended up staying for a full meal. While we were waiting for our table, we got to see the food coming out of the kitchen and the sight and size of the foods made use stay for the full meal. A shout out to Justin for Great Service. We'll see you on our next visit to NYC!

Guaranteed Good Deli Sandwiches and Cheescake

By J C |

Excellent service also. Great to go before the theatre. Each visit to see a matinee we make this restaurant the place to assemble and catch a bite before hand. Do allow time as there is always a crowd but they seem to be able to seat in 20 min. We love the pastrami sandwiches and this time had a strawberry cheesecake with ice cream to share. The price is very reasonable by Broadway standards.

OMG the best EVER cheesecake

By Lenajean |

I had read the reviews on the awesome cheesecake and had to try it. This is the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. It was $7.95 a slice but SO worth it. We bought a slice to share and it was delicious.

Very good food!

By Selene T |

Bacon burger was awesome, hamburgers were awesome! Cheesecake was fantastic. I would go back all the time of I could!
