Love this place. Service is great food is amazing and consistent. I live the guacamole appetizer and tostada. Favorite entre is the enchilada platter. Plates can be shared. Good value! Love coming hear.

We ate lunch at Jacalito and are so glad we did. It’s a little place with no fan fare that could be overlooked but don’t, the food is delicious! The salsas and guacamole are also very tasty.

Great food no matter what you choose!! This is a small local with limited parking but a bang for your buck with great tasting authentic Mexican food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for some good Mexican food in the area.

Small place with authentic food and friendly service. If you want real Mexican food, this is the place to go. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Friendly staff Nice food Good quality Good variety We finished our plates The whole family happy 100 charaters I am trying

This is a small Mexican in Miami. The was food and service was ok. Nothing great. Will not go back..

We tried Jacalito for the one night we spending in Miami before traveling back home Our meals were excellent, the wait staff patient with our questions. Overall, I'd highly recommend Jacalito for anybody looking for a meal straight out of Mexico.

What a great little find. The food was SO good as was the service. We always want to experience local cuisine when we travel and we were so happy to find this gem.

I have ordered food for pick-up several times and it has always been amazing. The service is very fast (it literally takes about 20 min for the food to be ready for pickup). Andrea is very sweet and helpful! I have tried several items including the guacamole, flautas Chorreada, burrito especial and the alambre, all of which were excellent. The portions are generous and the prices are very cheap. Plus, theres not hoopla about this place. Most of the mexican restaurants in Miami are overly priced and do not deliver on the authenticity of the food, so I'm so glad I came across this little spot. I will definitely be back!

Found this place while searching online. It's a small restaurant with good service and good food. The nieces are high for being a a local place. The fajitas were tasty!

Tiny place, but BIG on service and taste. Portion sizes were pretty good too (& we like big portions!) Every one of us (3) loved what we ordered and the service was pretty quick. The server knew when to come by for refills & didn't hover obnoxiously.

The Soup is super! The crispy tacos is ok, great place for lunch, next time I'm try another plate. Yes I will repeat again.

Coming to the airport with some time on our hands...looking for solid Mexican fare. TripAdvisor find...and it was exactly what we where looking for. Absolutely authentic and full of flavor. Not only was it good but is was plated very well and looked as good as it tasted. The restaurant was small and very local. Kind of a neighborhood diner. Kind of funny but when we where at the airport the attendants at the ticket counter nor the cabby knew of this place that was just a few miles from the airport?!? A gem...hope to get back to Miami to sample again!!

Excellent!!!! It's real Mexican and the waitress are real friendly ,recommended to visit with family and friends ,good music

xcelent authentic Mexican food good flavor and the service is excellent prices is good the michelada is delicious

This may be a hole-in-the-wall diamond-in-the-rough, but it's as good as it gets when it comes to fresh tasty food served with a smile. I've been here 3 times already with family and we have all ordered a variety of different items from their large selection...we have yet to be disappointed. You'd have to look long and hard to find better Mexican food anywhere else in Miami. This place is a winner!!!

Skip the luxurious surroundings and dig into the food. The burrito, and the quesadilla were very good. The service is friendly and good. The decor is extremely basic, but "don't judge a book by its cover."

Place is very small. But comfortable. Preferably inside since tables outside are too close to the street and the parking. Friendly staff. Quick service. Excellent menu.

Best Mexican restaurant in town. I highly recommended the pozole, menudo, and carne asada and tacos are great! If you are in Miami you can't miss visiting this restaurant.

Authentic Mexican food, friendly staff. Love the steak tacos, carnitas, queso with chorizo, and the best margaritas.

I followed the recommendations of others on TripAdvisor and tried this small, local taqueria near the airport. A short drive that is almost reasonably walkable from the Sheraton Miami Airport gets you to some great traditional Mexican food. The guacamole (with jalapeño) was fantastic and rivals the best I've had. I found the jalapeño relatively mild so don't freak when you see how much is piled on top of the guacamole and remember it's not mixed in so you can choose your own level of heat. The salsa and chips were obviously house made and despite the warning of "this is hot" I found the salsa fresh, tasty, and just the right amount of heat for me. I had the vegetarian burrito and the guacamole and found that to be lots for dinner. The food was so tasty I wished that I was able to have more. This is not fine dining but is clean, obviously local, and friendly - even for a Canadian diner who wanders in alone. Won't hesitate to go out of my way to visit again when I'm back this way.

Pros Nothing really jumps out Cons Above average price for Tex-Mex food Chips and salsa are expected at a Mexican, here you get a very small sampling of it Small place with about six tables Average tasting food

Husband and i looking for Mexican fare....ordered taco bowls...one steak, one chicken. Great food, friendly staff, great price!!

Small hole in the wall - type place. Food very fresh. Only a couple of people spoke English and the menu is primarily in Spanish, which wasn't an issue for us. Not a huge menu-offering, but sufficient and the restaurant had a friendly neighborhood vibe. No fountain drinks but they offer Coke in glass bottles (made from real sugar). Nice place overall.

The service is outstanding, and although the servers are mostly Central American or Cuban, the place is extremely authentic. Truly Mexican food. Tacos Barbados...the bomb!!!!!! I ordered the Pollo a la plancha with rice and beans, awesome!!!

OMG!!! Is what I have to say.... I found this excellent Mexican restaurant through Yelp by chance the other day and have to say I've been back 3 days in a row.. The food is fast, cheap, and delicious..I would say a million times better than Rosa Mexicana. The place is nothing to brag about atmosphere wise but the food is definitely worth a try. You won't be disappointed.

Don't take a date here to impress them (it's a dive on a busy street) but do try the taquitos. Very good!

After reading some of the other reviews, we deided to give this place a try. You go here for the food, not the appearance. It is very clean but it is not somewhere to go if you want the "atmosphere". Our waitress was very friendly and brought us chips and salsa as we sat down. I could have dined on this alone! Great chips and salsa that has a nice "kick" to it. I ordered the fajitas and my wife ordered a burrito. We shared the meals and both of us were extremely satisfied with the dishes. Prices were very reasonable and I recommend this place if you want to go for good food and are not concerned with all of the other "thrills".

We were in Miami only overnight. Our hotel clerk recommended this tiny. Mexican place. Sure glad we took the recommendation! Just a few blo k away from the Best Western premier, we found some of the best food you could ask for. Appetisers, combos, soups, kids menu and a great variety of dishes. If you want to, they will deliver for a small charge. Juices, shakes and dessert are great are made from fresh fruits. Prices are more than affordable, the highest price on the menu was $14.00 for combination dishes. Kids can eat for. $5.00. Mexican decorations inside and on the terrace, mexican music (a bit loud outside) and the best mexican hospitality. You don't want to miss it! Open 9am to 10pm till 11pm Fridays & Saturdays

My husband and I were looking for good quick food before we flew out of Miami. We passed up the hotel restaurant for Jacalito and we are SO glad we did!!! We found fantastic reviews for this restaurant on another website. The restaurant is a bit of a shack, but the food was amazing. I had the beef burrito especial and my husband had the chicken fajitas. The burrito was huge and probably the best I've ever had. The salsa was just spicy enough. I had a margarita which was average. Prices were good and the place is definitely a local favorite. As soon as we fly back into Miami, this is where we're going!! You will not be disappointed if you like great authentic Mexican food and don't mind the lack of atmosphere.

Excellent service, the person who attended us very friendly. Fresh clean. Super-rich sauces. Definitely recommended 👌🏻

The food is delicious! Congratulations on the good atmosphere and great service! I hope to visit soon and taste the other dishes!

The fajitas and beef tacos are so delicious. Great authentic food. Made a pit stop on the way to the airport..!!!! So worth it

We ordered delivery from Uber eats. Portions were really big and the price was fair, $16.25 for a Carne asada (that could have been shared), and $8.25 for really big chilanga quesadillas.

Jacalito's was a pleasure - a good atmosphere, tasty food, decent beer selection and a friendly waitress. I will be back.

Can't believe we never noticed this restaurant. It is close to our house and they serve good inexpensive "real" Mexican food. Very small so you may have to wait a bit. Try their combination plates (large enough to share). Their queso fundido with chorizo is yummy and served with fresh warm tortillas. You may want to request their tame pico de gallo instead of their house salsa (I like spicy so enjoyed the house salsa)

You would never know this little hole in the wall is so yummy. Great staff, and the food on point. Reasonable price, and they deliver as well.

Small but popular with locals restaurant. Only a few tables inside and a few outside by the parking area. Opposite of upscale. But... good autentic Mexican food with varied menu with some out of the ordinarydishes. I had beef fajitas that were excellent; recommend them. the refried beans just Ok and the rice not too tasty. My friend enjoyed his chicken quesadillas.

If you are looking for elegance, this is not the place. But if you are looking for excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine, Jacalito is a perfect option in Miami. Casual dining atmosphere, great service. Three tacos for six dollars is more expensive than Taco Hell, but they are fresh and delicious, and come in a wide variety of ingredients. There is also a typically authentic Mexican menu, that you would find in Mexico.

We have lived in Miami for 11 years now. We are California transplants and lived in Cabo San Lucas Mexico as well. On our quest for authentic Mexican food has been a challenge since day one. This little place right off of Flagler was a happy find. We had the trio of tacos platter and a couple of Corona's with lime. The service was friendly (practiced my Spanglish), the parking on site, and tables outside as well as inside. Nothing fancy just a good ol' fashion mexican joint with fresh food, good service and fair prices (some even cheap). We will be back and still talk about it only taking a dozen years to find Mexican food in Miami, lol. Enjoy!

If you know what a Mexican taco is supposed to be, go to Jacalitos.. Real deal tacos, Meat (carnitas, pollo, asada, pastor,) onions and cilantro served with lime. That my friend is a real taco. The menu serves more than tacos and with equal pleasure, true to mexican standards...Chips and salas are home made as well, enjoy a taste of the Pacific side of Mexico.

Driving East on Flagler, get ready to pull into the hidden driveway just as you pass 37th Avenue. It's easy to miss, but you'll be happy once you find it. The place is tiny, with only a handful of tables that can hold up to 4-5 people max. I highly recommend trying their guacamole. It's very simple and not spicy at all, but it is sooooo good and creamy. They also serve traditional Mexican tacos made with lamb, beef, pork, or chicken. They're all pretty good, but my favorite dish is the Burrito Especial con Bistec (steak). It is very tasty and extremely easy to eat (it doesn't fall apart on you). Pro Tip: If you do not know Spanish, you should definitely go with someone who does to help you get your order in.

I have been at this restaurant several times and the food gets better every time. This place has the best guacamole in Miami. Highly recommend it.

Very authentic and tasty. Went with a group and we all got something different. Burritos were huge, pork tacos were yummy, beans and rice very very tasty. Going back to get the chicken wrapped in plantain leaves- now THAT was delish! Worth the visit. They aren't as fast as most Mexican restaurants, but after we got our food- we didn't care!

Really enjoyed the Burrito, fully loaded and really tasty. Love these authentic local places to eat and really cheap too

Went for lunch with co-workers and occupied their biggest table, got our food pretty quickly and enjoyed it! Most of us ordered the tampiqueña rib plate, and didn't dissapooint... not a fancy place, with a few tables but everyone in the group enjoyed their meal....

Our hotel recommended this tiny place for authentic Mexican food, and it did not disappoint. Small dish of chips (we asked for two more!) with spicy red sauce to start, and beautifully presented fajitas and chicken enchiladas (my favorite) with refried beans and Mexican rice. Generous portions, easily shareable. No wait at 6 pm on Thursday, and there is outdoor seating. Just perfect for our group.

Great food!!😋😋😋true Mexican comida. Service was nice I would totally recommend this place. There is a nice variety of entrees

I know Miami is not known for having great Mexican food but after visiting a few spots in Homestead and also eating Mexican in Cali, this place brings the flavor. A little hole in the wall place with very limited parking on the weekdays but well worth the visit. You will leave the place full but still wanting more. Make sure to try the queso fundido as appetizer and their taco bowl for entree. The crust is done perfectly with just the right amount of crunch. I'm so fortunate to live near this place because it has become one of my favorite spots. For travelers make sure to come here for lunch and then head to the Coral Gables for some sightseeing since its a very close uber ride away. Then once in the Gables feel free to pick up gelato from VIX. Thank me later.

It is hard to find real Mexican food in Miami. This is especially good and reasonably priced. The servers are always nice and the food comes out super fast. I'm originally from Chicago and I miss the authentic Mexican food and this place hits the spot. I have been here at least 3 times since I discovered this hidden gem less than a month ago

If you’re looking for a hole in the wall with excellent authentic Mexican food you will be very pleased. We ordered a combination plate which included sopes, gorditas, flautas, quesadillas, and included guacamole and pico de gallo. The aguas frescas are very good also. Highly recommend this little place. You will leave with a smile like we did. Enjoy!!

We were hoping for some good Mexican food in a city we'd never visited before. We found it - plus great service. We'll go back!

If you want to try the authentic tacos, this is the place to go. Went there because some Mexicans friends recommended and it was true. We tried queso fundido con chorizo A1, tacos al pastor, carnitas, cochinita pibil and chorizo...we were transported to Mexico, flavor and amount of serving exceeded our expectation. Best price in town!

Been coming here for years, every time I visit Miami it’s a must.. everything is super authentic and delicious… best Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico … absolutely love their ceviche and carne asada 👌

Stopped by here with my husband for a quick meal and we enjoyed our food. It was fresh and unique. Everyone working here was really nice as well. I would recommend checking it out. I wouldn't say it's the best Mexican that I've ever had but it was good.

Peoples are awesome there also the food, it’s a family place where u can enjoy real Mexican food and drinks

Very good authentic Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas were fresh with just the right amount of filling and flavor. Shrimp Tacos were pretty good also. The servers were very nice.

We took a Uber to this restaurant because we had a long layover at Miami airport. It was delicious and reasonably priced. Long happy hour all week. We will go again next time we’re at Miami airport. Only $5 Uber ride.

Atmosphere is not fancy but they have improved it a lot in the last several years, it is actually charming (but not fancy) now. Indoor and outdoor dining. Food tastes like they made it to order with good fresh ingredients. Great fresh hot sauces, fresh chips. Lots of locals love the place.

Staying at a airport hotel, myself and a co worker headed here for lunch. It's small and the food was great. I had a 3 taco basket. Like others had said, they are small and have a single tortilla. The favors were good. I had a carnitas, Al pastor and a lingua. My co worker had a burrito. It was very generous sized and looked good too. The staff clearly speaks little English, but the menu is Spanish/English, so you will do fine. It's part of the charm. Defiantly going back.

Husband and I had two steak burritos couldn't eat half due to all the grizzle fat. Also we order Margarita and Mojotio the drinks tasted the same. Price was on the high side for what you got. Never again!

Price are to high for a Taco shop. My "Medium Rear" meat was overcooked and dry. The Horchata water was very good. Desserts aren't made there. Service is Great. Tacos were Ok.

Vibrant flavors and colorful decor! Tacos are flavorful, and the guacamole is superb. Service is quick, though the portions could be slightly larger for the price.

It was ok but not the best Mexican food I have ate. It was definitely a hole in the wall. Very small restaurant with only 5 tables if that. I would not eat here again.

I was in Miami for a couple of days and looked up Mexican restaurants near my hotel and after reading all the reviews for this place I decided to go with my family. Well for one it's really small you could probably fit like 15 people in the dining area. I ordered tacos de carne asada (skirt steak) and got beef tacos, not the same thing! When I compare authentic Mexican food to the places I have eaten it doesn't even make the list. I expected skirt steak and bigger tacos when I placed my order. The portions were like kids meal portions, I left out of there still hungry. I gave it a 3 out of 5 because the staff was very nice and also because of the prices. If your looking for cheap Mexican food this is the place to go. If your looking for really good authentic Mexican food don't go here you will be disappointed like I was.

It was a nice surprise to find good Mexican food in Miami. This was the most authentic mexican food I've found so far in Miami. The huevos rancheros and taco platter were both very delicious. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We had lunch here I had the soapa de Rez and it was very good my son and husband had the tacos and where disappointed with the size very small and not with the double tortilla like we are used to . The place is clean and the staff is friendly, so if you are hungry I don't recommend the tacos too small ..

Mexican food can either be fantastic or not so good. This restaurant always has its food prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked just right. The guacamole has just the right lime and cilantro together just ripe avocado. I highly recommend the Combo No. 2 if you want an overload!!!

Our group of five had just arrived in Miami and after 8 days without good Mexican food, we needed help! Jacalito was the perfect place for authentic, quick and very flavorful food. A wet burrito, quesadias , flautas and tostada were quickly enjoyed while locals streamed in and out for sit down and take away. Great homemade salsa with some fire and guacamole. Less than $10 average per person including soft drinks. Go there!

The place is not nice but the prices are. Very affordable Mexican place. The food is really good and tasty. If you don’t want to spend more than 10/15 bucks eating well, this is a great place. They have delivery

Great Mexican food even from a Texan. I came with a group from work and the place was packed. They moved cars around and set up extra tables to accommodate our group.

Very good. Friendly staff. Small place therefore gets full quickly. They deliver and take out. Limited parking. Enjoy!

Ran into this tiny place on Flagler & couldn't have been happier. Sat outside, & even though constant traffic noise, had fun Spanish music playing. Servers didn't forget about us out there. My enchiladas with their own specialty pork were presented in a refined way with a sizable chunk of quality food. Flavors were bursting, & they offered a wide range of staples, as well as exotic, Mexican fare.

The food is great here! Reasonable and friendly staff. Always fresh made to order, not tex mex. The guacamole is good. It has a small parking lot that is shared and they are always busy so you may have to park elsewhere and walk.

I was really suprised with the taste of the food. The tacos al pastor are a must and the hot aouce they give out give them an extra kick of favor. I would define toy recommend and would back to this place without a doubt! Hope you enjoy the food as much as my wife and I did!

Looking for a place to eat, decided to check Trip advisor finding this Mexican taqueria. Home made food, delicious, not to salty, salsas were a little bit hot but delicious. Happy I found this place. If you work or are near by it is worthy to try it. Very sinple place, plenty of parkimg space, prices are affordable and the waiters were on top of everything and gentle. I Highly recommend, give it a try!

I didn't know what to expect when I drove in. I'm delighted to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food is just great!! Please try the nachos with chorizo, they are to die for. Cannot stop eating them!! I will sure be back to try more items

We had a great dinner, staff very friendly. The food came to the table on time and it was very tasty. I will come back many times !

I was craving for mexican food that day and many times I passed in front of this restaurant so I said let me give it a try. Food was great and fresh, price is right, friendly staff, small but cozy atmosphere, also you can sit outside. To me it is a good alternative of good mexican food not far from the center of miami. Now I feel like I have to drive to homestead for good food.

My wife and I love Mexican food and always try to find some if we are in a different city. This place is very unimposing and if we hadn't been walking by, we might have missed it. It is obviously a place where the locals go for great Mexican. The choice of food was very interesting and varied. The guacamole was some of the best we ever had. Our portions were so large that we took enough back to the hotel and ate them for breakfast the next morning. If you are in the airport hotel area, go here to enjoy some of the best Mexican you will find.

There's not a lot of places in Miami to get good Mexican food, but this is definitely one of them! Small, nothing fancy. Good menu with cheap beers! Quick service and friendly staff. Food usually comes out fast! Not really in a tourist area, but close to coral gables!
Delivery 📦
My stomach had a craving for Mexican food but I was still left with the craving for more. The food wasn't anything to brag about. I had a void.
